"The locust jump is composed of three phases, cocking, co-contraction and triggering."
"In the cocking phase, the tibia are fully flexed and a locking mechanism is engaged to prevent the tibia from extending prematurely.
During the co-contraction phase, the tibia extensor muscle contracts simultaneously with the flexor muscle and power is stored in the extensor apodeme, cuticle deformation, and the semi-lunar process at the femoro-tibial joint.
During the triggering phase, inhibitory neurons reduce the tension in the flexor muscle to allow the locking mechanism to disengage and release the stored energy to extend the tibia and produce the jump."
"The jump direction is determined by the orientation of the prothoracic legs as they rotate the body to point towards the target prior to the jump. The elevation of the jump is determined by the posture of the metathoracic legs."
"Because the energy budget for a grasshopper jump is constrained by the energy that is stored in the elastic processes of the limb, energy used for rotation has to come at a cost to energy used to generate linear velocity."

Something I've seen a couple people saying is that they want to make sure that Laudna understands that she's not the only one who has been through trauma. But like. Laudna is not the only one who needs to learn that lesson. Actually, it's not even that Laudna needs to learn that she's not the only one that's been through trauma at all, because they're all very aware of what they've all been through. This became an inevitable confrontation when Laudna decided to let Delilah back in, though, and after rewatching the scene, I actually think the only people who managed this situation correctly were Imogen* and Ashton.
Orym and Laudna are both more focused on their own pasts with the sword and not thinking about each other. Orym should have talked to the group and come to a decision with them about using the sword and Laudna should have talked to him about it instead of trying to steal it.
*my feelings about this are still up in the air don't read into this too much

Thoughts.
I love my selfship bubble actually. One, I have low spoons 95% of the time, so I simply don't have it in me to be more active in reaching out. Two, I'm overall a very introverted person. Interacting (both doing and receiving) can be really draining and it's not something I care that much about. Even irl there's like one friend I keep up with, and we literally live together now and Still don't interact daily! Don't need much else to be content. I created this blog back in late 2019 as more of a journal than something meant for a community. And I'm fine leaving it that way. Yeah, sometimes I'd like to reach out more than I do (and of course it's nice when people reach out to me), but I don't think it's "selfish" of me to wanna do my own thing lol

Does Grim prefer any gendered compliments based on form or just takes any, any time? Cause just thinkin their chitin is very pretty. Like a beautiful beetle (bugs are good okay this is a good compliment!) or freshly cooled magma (of an unknown specific mineral composition cause dang uniformly nice color!)
|| 🖤 ||: ❝ I'm not one for shallow praise in the first place, but I don't care about if terms are gendered. A man can be beautiful and a woman can be handsome. Gender is whatever the fuck you want it to be. For me it's fluid. ❞
|| 🖤 ||: ❝ But thank you, I suppose... I'm finding myself preferring to having my chitin be more visible than before. ❞

One of the fun things of bug fables that hollow knight can't have (if you exclude mr mushroom...) is the fun little references of other things in real life, whether it's human made tools that are giant for them but utilize as every day normal objects or the pop culture reference that doesn't seem too out of place within the setting of the game

Have you ever played around with a very silly au just for yourself? Just for fun.
I have one, calling it Queen Bee Megatron. An au in which everything is like normal TFP, except Megatron gives birth to all the Eradicons, no sire involved. Drones in both a robotic and a biological sense, heh
Huh, now that made me tilt my head.
Especially since Whoooweee is eusocial insect biology fucking weird, and i mean that in a scientist way.
Especially since as you noted everything else is the same as TFP, meaning there's gotta be more wacky dacky biology at play here and because we're working with sentient mecha here
