Age gap wank in fandom is always so fascinating to me. Obviously, Hidan and Kakuzu have about a 69-year age gap (nice), but I've never once felt the urge to tag my hidakaku works "age gap."

We, as a queer community, really need to get better at teaching our history to our youngest members. Because you cannot go forward without knowing where you have been, because you cannot know what you have if you don't know what it cost, and because I never want to see another damn fic where a character who lived through the 80s and 90s in the military acts like Don't Ask, Don't Tell was some cruel oppressive assault on their rights that they hate and resent their superiors for.

I’m so excited to finally share this piece! Originally, it was intended for We Were Here, a clone oc zine, which sadly didn’t pan out. Still, I wrote a oneshot I’m very proud of, and in a weird way it works out - back when I started this fic, I’d never posted anything about Arson, Murder, or Jaywalking. Nowadays, they have made their appearance in the time slip fic, so I hope there are a few people out there who know who they are and why I love them (in all their messy glory).

Americans are so weird about true crime.

By which I don't mean only Americans like it, that's obviously not true.

Just, if I consume American media about true crime I will occasionally be jarred by the most bizarre takes. Like a sudden pro cop take in a story about police brutality, or randomly slut shaming a victim.

Just now there was something like:

"There were problems in the house; his father was [list of horrific abusive things] AND he kept porn magazines in the house."

I didn’t talk about anime a lot at home when I was a kid or even buy a lot of manga. Because one time my stepmom got ahold of one of my One Piece volumes and got pissed about the cover because Sanji was ‘smoking’, Nami ‘was a hooker’, and Luffy ‘looked weird’. This is recalled without a shred of hyperbole. I die everytime I think about it.

Watching The Amazing Digital Circus, mainly because it's also one of those fandoms I see a lot while bookmark surfing on AO3 and I want to know What It's About (especially Rabbitman Jim aka Jax).

It's alright. It's there, but being as it only has two episodes so far, I think it's too early for me to give a more concrete opinion on it (idk if there's supposed to be more than one season). Maybe later on, when it adds more content and if I don't suddenly forget its existence because long waits between new episodes HAH.
