Bij het zoeken naar de werken van Hopper kwam ik op de website www.museumsyndicate.com terecht. Waar er 184 werken van Hopper verzameld zijn. Dat is wel al heel wat om een overzichtelijk beeld te krijgen van de kunstenaar en links te leggen tussen de verschillende schilderijen.

Opvallend is dat Hopper vooral bekend is met werken waar personen in aanwezig zijn zoals Nighthawks, dit onderwerp maakt echter maar voor de helft deel uit van zijn oeuvre. Ik kan het wel vinden met de schilderijen van de huizen en landschappen, bruggen en stedelijke scènes.

Het lijkt zeer moeilijk om websites te vinden waar hele archieven aan kunstenaars en kunstwerken op te zien zijn. De website in kwestie is niet de beste van layout en design maar wel heel handig. Een grappige onderdeel ervan is ook, en dit doet me zeer hard denken aan het jaar 2000, dat je van elk kunstwerk een puzzel kunt genereren en oplossen.
