Vi spiego, in parole povere, come funziona il mondo Taxi in Italia. I comuni emettono licenze Taxi che assegnano, gratuitamente, seguendo una graduatoria per titoli (quasi sempre appannaggio di figli, mogli o parenti di chi e' gia' tassista o sta dentro quel mondo) Insomma, come primo atto, i comuni regalano a una minoranza di cittadini, 150mila euro (valore medio di una licenza sul mercato quando il tassista la vende). Una volta avuta una licenza, come succede per tutte le attivita' commerciali o artigiane, il tassista dovrebbe iscriversi in camera di commercio, inail, inps e partita iva, come devono fare tutte le imprese commerciali e artigiane di questo Paese. Invece i tassisti che fanno? Hanno costituito, nel tempo, delle cooperative di lavoro; conferiscono le loro licenze alla cooperativa e ne diventano dipendenti. Peccato che sono dipendenti "finti". Loro non versano gli incassi alla coop, come un vero dipendente e a fine mese prendono la busta paga. No! Si tengono gli incassi e versano alla coop solo i costi che la coop stessa sostiene per loro: contributi inps, inail e un piccolo contributo per tenere in piedi la struttura. Parlando con i numeri (almeno nelle grandi e medie citta'), incassi per 5mila euro mensili, 1mille per pagare le ritenute irpef-inps in busta paga, 1mille di costi gestionali dell'auto, 3mila il guadagno netto. Tutto questo a fronte di una busta paga netta emessa dalla coop per 1mille euro. Busta paga che permette vantaggi che i cittadini onesti nom hanno: avere il doppio dell'assegno unico per i figli rispetto al dovuto, meno della meta' della retta di asilo, un terzo del canone per chi ha una casa popolare, un terzo della retta universitaria e mille altre agevolazioni che spettano presentando ISEE.

Ecco, questa e' la casta dei tassisti. Una di quelle caste difesa da certa politica e tollerata da milioni di italiani che vota "certa politica" senza battere ciglia.

Ah, dimenticavo.. in 50anni "certa politica" e' stata tutta, dx o sx che sia, visto che tutti hanno tollerato, sapendo... @ilpianistasultetto

I think what you osserved about Cleo and Lizzie is a result of many factors.

Gender is of course one and a major one at that but it cannot be the only one as both Pearl and Gem have much more fandom characterization. Pearls characterisation especially can be attribuited almost entirely to Double Life.

There is also the factor there are a lot less females then males in the mcyt scene and that has always been a problem. But this means that there will always be way more discussion over man because there are so much more.

We should also consider that Lizzie did have a lot of characterisation back in the Empires s1 days that has been swept under the rug as she became inactive for long periods of time, she had a characterisation but this characterisation didn't even apply to the life series because she was never in it like the others, she missed 3rd life, Double life and Limited life which definitely didn't do her any favours. Mumbos characterization on the other hand still existed because he was much more active and when he was in hiatus his fellow Hermits kept reminding us about him... But Lizzie kinda dips for a while and then comes back and is never really mentioned.

Cleo always had the problem of being simplified as either chaotic arsonist, doting mother figure or talented artigian with dark humor... It's been since the 2020 that I have seen people discussing about her characterisation being basically cut down to one of these 3 personality instead of actually giving her actual personality. This was because newbies at characterization back in season 6 usually put either her or Stress as the nurturing mom friend in fanfiction who then other newbies took as inspiration and it kinda stuck around in a loop.

In a way one would need to analyze this problem at the olden days of minecraft content but then we would be here for days.

To start, I will point out that "this is the result of many factors" and "in a way you'd need to analyze the origins of this, but we don't have time for that" are extremely common & toothless reasons to derail talking about misogyny (or any other -ism).

I do not think you are intentionally replicating that, but anytime an immediate response is "well it's not really ____-ism, and it's so complicated we could never hope to unpack it," that maybe isn't a useful addition to the discussion.

I agree that gender is not the only factor, but I think going "well SOME women aren't as affected by misogyny so clearly it can't just be misogyny" is inaccurate. Also, if you look at Pearl and Gem's characterization - Gem is pigeonholed to a very particular type of cutesy fighting-princess role, akin to many YA protagonists of late.

Pearl does have more complex characterization from specifically Double Life, but the majority of analysis & attention only started going to Pearl after she won. As DL was airing, much more attention was paid to Desert Duo Redux and Team Rancher and Impdubs etc. I also think the fandom has taken to holding up Pearl as a token and going 'but look, we can write women! Look how many emotions she has. She's sad and likes murder and dogs."

I agree, it has been a problem forever (I've been watching MCYT since 2012. I watched Cleo & then False join HC. Believe Me, I Know.) But you'll notice my critique wasn't [All Life Series Dudes] are talked about more than [The Much Smaller Number of Life Series Women]. My critique in my post was 'if Lizzie's death happened to a man I would see more posts about that other hypothetical person" - comparing 1 person to 1 person.

So this paragraph is definitely where you lost me. Your point seems to be 'Lizzie had characterization in S1 of Empires, and we're forced to borrow it because she's so inactive since then, there's nothing to pull from'. Allow me to share a screenshot of her series playlists here.

Let's leave aside the question of why people would pull from Empires S1 characterization when Last Life happened in the middle of it, and would evidently be a more logical place to pull from for Life Series characterization.

She had a whole Afterlife series, and she wasn't inactive after that! She had only 6 fewer episodes in S2 of Empires than in S1. It is patently ridiculous to claim that Lizzie is just so inactive and absent her Empires S1 characterization is necessary to fall back on, when Mumbo has better characterization despite vanishing for an entire calendar year to go biking. That is sexism.

I'm glad you agree it's a problem! I can definitely see how that problem originated, but I've seen new fandom members for the Life Series - who don't watch HC or read HC fic- duplicate the same problems. I think at some point it's less a fandom-specific issue than a replication of the social division of women into Virgin, Whore, Bitch, or Mother categories, with no ability to imagine women complexly outside of those boxes or continuums.

This fandom seems to think moving the women in and out of the 'Bitch' box is the same as complex characterization*, and we've all just kind of gone 'okay' because the other option is nothing about any women at all. But we can and must do better, because I have to believe we're capable of writing and paying fandom attention to women as people.

*This is where DL Pearl generally falls to me, and why I am dubious of claims that she's well characterized. I think much of the fandom equates cruelty or sadness with good writing/interesting characters. But she's still fundamentally defined by the questions "How nice or mean are you? Are you in a relationship or alone?"

Umberto Bellotto (Venezia 1882 – 1940) ‘Figlio d’arte, il padre era un fabbro veneziano, trascorre la giovinezza alternando periodi di apprendistato presso varie botteghe artigiane. Dimostrando una viva attitudine artistica, apre molto presto un’officina propria, dove esegue opere, per lo più in ferro battuto, caratterizzate da forme ardite, che si discostano nettamente dal gusto corrente. Attratto anche da altri materiali, quali il vetro e la ceramica, nel 1914, assieme a Cesare Laurenti, ottiene il brevetto per il ‘connubio di ferro e vetro’, con il quale realizza sia oggetti decorativi che applicazioni su particolari architettonici. Ottiene la consacrazione ufficiale delle sue qualità artistiche alla Biennale del 1914, dove gli viene dedicata una sala intera, nella quale espone, oltre ai lavori in ferro, altre opere su suo disegno…‘

It would depend on the place they go on holiday generally! If they went to Yue Weifeng a popular souvenir would be something imbued with magic. Also the historical setting is loosely based on the 12th/13th century, so the most popular souvenirs would be cloths, small vases, food, or artigianal artifacts. Wooden statuines are pretty popular, and the material varies depending on the city/island they are in.

A statuine from Wassermund would probably be made of the same wood used for ships, or for a delicate one, something made from seashells. In Yue Weifeng the statuine could probably move thanks to wind magic, and it would be made either of light wood or ceramic. In Tijara it would probably be a glass figure, in Fluye it would be green wood that is still sprouting! In Velstand we would have rock statuines instead.

They could represents an animal of the place, or a symbol. A figure from Yue would probably represent the eight pointed star. Or they could be statues of the dragons that keep the islands afloat on their shoulders!

Tra i luoghi che non dimenticherò mai merita un posto speciale ERICE in provincia di TRAPANI nella meravigliosa SICILIA. 🇮🇹

Non dimenticherò' mai quando partendo dal sole della spiaggia mi ritrovai in cima a questo monte avvolto da una misteriosa nebbia e cominciai a camminare per il borgo aspettandomi dietro ogni angolo un passaggio segreto che mi facesse viaggiare indietro nel tempo.

ERICE è un luogo che sembra fuori dal tempo e dallo spazio come le sue origini che si perdono nel passato.

Mille storie sembrano inseguirsi sulle sue strade acciottolate di origine medioevale.

E non puoi fare a meno di chiederti quante incredibili storie i muri di Erice hanno visto.

Visitare Erice significa perdersi tra mille scorci di stradine basolate, fortificazioni, antiche chiese, conventi, botteghe artigiane , pinete e giardini, per poi smarrirsi, sul bordo della cittadina, in panorami mozzafiato verso le isole Egadi, lo Stagnone, le Saline e i campi coltivati di tutta la provincia di Trapani.

Sono vecchio con l'aggravante di essere stato nerd.

Con certe cose non mi ci trovo troppo a mio agio. Non capisco molto il consumo di droghe e pur ipocritamente aspirando a scopare in giro senza conseguenze, credo mi imbarazzerebbe il "sesso senza aMMore" o magari è pure un alibi per dipingermi una persona migliore.

Ma qua abbiamo da una parte "sedicenti" femministe che dicono che è un mercimonio, trascurando TOTALMENTE la volontà di chi affitterebbe l'utero e dall'altra la tifoseria de "la nipote di Mubarak" che non si fa problemi di fronte a prostitute minorenni, ma che signora mia... l'utero in affitto no.

Per me che sono sostanzialmente un porco, e quindi nella scala delle priorità della vita, metto scopare e mangiare in una posizione imbarazzantemente alta, non riesce nemmeno poi difficile pensare che il "sesso", specialmente grazie ai progressi della contraccezione e della medicina, non abbia poi niente di così speciale e che in fondo la mia incompatibilità (per altro puramente teorica) per il sesso non accompagnato da una relazione affettiva sia una questione prettamente estetica e personale.

Ora, gran parte dei progressi che abbiamo fatto è dovuta alla specializzazione. Non c'è nulla di male ad usufruire del lavoro degli altri. Le visioni autarchiche, bio, naturaliste, artigiane, e ai miei tempi signora mia... sia in salsa hippy che prepper sono minchiate. In ambito sesso poi ogni riferimento ad approcci autarchici fa un po' riderino.

Ora... perchè un edile può essere pagato per cadere da un'impalcatura mentre una donna non può essere pagata per fare un pompino e un'altra per mettere l'utero in affitto in base a ragionamenti moralistici però rimane un mistero. (non è mia intenzione fare il "sessista", ma sarà una pregiudiziale, ma ho il sospetto che il mercato del sesso sia prevalentemente costituito da una domanda maschile e volerlo sottolineare con un'apparente posizione neutra suona un po' come "non tutti gli uomini").

Allora, anzichè proibire all'edile di tirar su edifici, perchè non si legifera perchè lo faccia in condizioni di sicurezza, in un mercato del lavoro che non lo ricatta, libero di scegliere se lavorare a certe condizioni o no, retribuito dignitosamente e in maniera socialmente utile e non per fare castelli a pochi?

E perchè non una legge che vieta alle aziende di sfruttare manodopera all'estero? Quanto sarebbe enforceable? Potremmo parlarne insieme che so all'idea di abolire il reato di tortura... perchè "prima gli italiani".

Ma qua abbiamo gente che si occupa di rave e forestierismi, non gente che lavora per campare e magari avrebbe l'aspirazione a stare meglio.
