What’s your opinion of blinx the time sweeper?
Incomplete, mainly. My opinion, I mean. Not the game itself.
I haven't seen much or played much Blinx for myself. A friend started streaming it a few years ago through Xbox 360 backwards compatibility only to find it was plagued by slowdown issues. She vowed to "try it again some day on real hardware" but that opportunity has not presented itself.
I never owned an original Xbox, and the only attempts I've made to play Blinx are through the Xbox emulator, Xemu. Last time I tried it, it had some pretty serious compatibility problems. Actually, this is just reminding me that I should update my build of Xemu and see how it runs now.
What I have seen of Blinx (about an hour or two of gameplay) made it seem really interesting and unique but not necessarily... I dunno... there's a word I'm looking for, but I can't quite describe it.
I don't know if I want to call Blinx a bad game, but it's definitely a game that tries a lot of ideas and is deeply creative, but it isn't always elegant with its solutions. In that regard it's very much like what became of later Sonic games, really. There's something cool in there, but it's kind of buried under a lot of weird unpolished junk that you have to sift through first.
Like for my money, the gold standard is Nintendo. When they really execute on an idea, they use every part of the buffalo in a way that makes sense and fits in with the rest of the game's concepts. It all works in unison to make a gameplay harmony.
Blinx did not seem very harmonious from what I saw. Parts of it are pretty messy, in fact.
Does that make it bad? Eh, I dunno. Yes and no. I suppose it really depends on what you're looking for out of a game, and Blinx in 2022 is so far removed from where Blinx launched in 2001. All of the pressure of being the Xbox's first character platformer has long since evaporated. Now it's a genuine curiosity and can be viewed under new, fascinating conditions. There's value in that.

I'm watching the new fionna and cake show, and well, I never finished the og show(got probably less than halfway through the show), so when I don't know something, I'm just like "am I supposed to know what happened here or is this like an actual mystery?" lol.

The section on the framework is followed by a review of the evidence on the effects of advertising and promotion on tobacco use among young people, drawing from and updating existing comprehensive reviews. This review then presents a conceptual framework that relates advertising and promotion by tobacco companies to tobacco use among young people. The chapter begins by reviewing trends in marketing expenditures made by the tobacco companies and changes in the focus of these expenditures over time. The present chapter provides an updated and extended review of the evidence on the impact of the tobacco companies’ marketing activities on tobacco use. Correspondingly, the growing strength of the evidence in this area has been reflected by the increasingly strong conclusions drawn in comprehensive reviews of this evidence, including those in previous Surgeon General’s reports on smoking and health (notably the 1989notably the 1994notably the 1998, and 2000 reports ) and other comprehensive reviews (e.g., Lynch and Bonnie 1994 Federal Register 1996 Lovato et al. This growing evidence has helped to spur a variety of policy interventions aimed at reducing the influence of marketing on tobacco initiation and consumption by the tobacco companies, from the 1971 ban on broadcast advertising to the constraints contained in the 1998 Master Settlement Agreement ( National Association of Attorneys General 1998a) and Smokeless Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement ( NAAG 1998b).Īs research evidence has accumulated over time, the relationships between the marketing activities of tobacco companies and the use of tobacco, including use among young people, have become clear. In contrast, the weight of the evidence from extensive and increasingly sophisticated research conducted over the past few decades shows that the industry’s marketing activities have been a key factor in leading young people to take up tobacco, keeping some users from quitting, and achieving greater consumption among users ( National Cancer Institute 2008). Tobacco companies have long argued that their marketing efforts do not increase the overall demand for tobacco products and have no impact on the initiation of tobacco use among young people rather, they argue, they are competing with other companies for market share. Even so, variations of many of the marketing practices used by Duke continue to be important marketing tools for today’s tobacco companies, as discussed in this chapter. markets for tobacco products have remained highly concentrated, with little price competition. tobacco markets in the early twentieth century before antitrust actions dissolved the trust in 1911. These strategies contributed to the growth of Duke’s American Tobacco Company, which came to dominate U.S. Duke’s marketing practices included setting relatively low prices, providing sophisticated packaging, carrying out promotions such as including picture cards in cigarette packs and sponsoring various public events, and paying distributors and retailers to promote his brands ( Kluger 1996). In the late nineteenth century, James Buchanan Duke used the cost advantages he gained from his adoption of James Bonsack’s mechanized cigarette rolling machine to aggressively market his cigarette brands ( Chaloupka 2007). Tobacco companies were among the earliest companies to identify and implement effective, integrated marketing strategies, and cigarettes and other tobacco products have long been among the most heavily marketed consumer products in the United States ( Brandt 2007). These techniques include product design, packaging, pricing, distribution, product placement, advertising, and a variety of promotional activities. Nevertheless, there's no doubt that most everyone - including her beau Rory Farquharson - will be looking out for her well-being.In most developed countries, businesses use a broad variety of marketing techniques to increase their sales, gain market share, attract new users, and retain existing customers. Secret Service can offer protection to presidents' children up to ten years after leaving the White House, though it's unclear what the former president decided in terms of Malia's protection. Now that Obama is no longer president, is Malia still protected? The Washington Post explained that, by law, the U.S. And hopefully I've been a good example in terms of how I've shown respect to my wife so, I think, I don't worry about it because they're really solid smart girls - young ladies now." Obama then joked, "The other reason is because they've had Secret Service. She's such a great example of how she carries herself, her self esteem, not depending on boys to validate how you look or, you know, not letting yourself be judged by anything other than your character and intelligence. Obama continued, "For two reasons, one is Michelle.
