After playing through all paths I can confirm that all characters in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet - all gym leaders, members of Team Star, the school staff and the MC's friends - are queer 🎉

Nemona is the best of the 3, sorry arven i love you and you had the most emotional story line but nemona was just pure fun.

Tulip is the best of the new gym leaders, girlie pop serves so much cvnt and i love it. Like going thru the game i knew some lil gay had a hand in this but when she came up and said we slayed.... dead. Larry is a stupidly close second tho, the fact it took us this long to have a normal gym leader that was a monotone office man character is criminal but atleast he was good.

I SWEAR IF THE DLC DOES NOT INVOLVE GOING BACK IN TIME TO SAVE THE PROFESSORS I WILL SCREAM, WE NEED ARVEN TO BE HAPPY AND FOR US TO HAVE MOMMY AND DADDY BACK. The fact they have given us the HOTTEST professors and they are dead..... like the girls and the gays are suffering....

Speaking of DLC, idk what they are gonna do in terms of enviroment and vibe because area zero.... AREA ZERO. The music and just everything is so amazing. The battle music and area music are easily the 2nd and 3rd best tracks in the game.

On the topic of music tho Penny's battle theme is the BEST track in a pokemon game. Toby fox really put his whole pussy into this OST. Its giving cascade/ early 2000s euro dance and it goes so well with her hackerman vibe.

How Pokemon S/V characters make a person feel better (mega list):

Iono: Tries to give them a shoutout on their streams or requests the chat to send words of encouragement.

Hassel: Hugs and cries with them until they both calm down (protect this gay old man at all costs).

Grusha: Is very socially awkward about it, but tries to give harsh, but true words of wisdom to get the person back to reality. Does genuinely feel bad, but often has no idea what to say.

Larry: Like Grusha, he is very socially awkward and does feel bad for the person, but doesn't have any idea what to do besides offer to take them to the Treasure Eatery to eat and drink their sorrows away. Larry gives great life advice when the situation calls for it, but too many people see him as "bland" before he can get a chance.

Dendra: Is a hugger and offers to take the person for a run or helps them with her ESP training.

Arven: Tries to help them calm down by letting them vent to him and he even may make you some food to help ease tense emotions.

Penny: Feels very uncomfortable, but tries to give words of comfort.

Nemona: Tries to distract them by battling or motivate if they don't feel like battling or don't have Pokemon.

Geeta: Basically the pragmatic mom friend. She would give master class life advice and make them some tea or coffee to talk over their worries.

Poppy: Literally a child, but would try to relate their worries to something that happened to them in school recently in an attempt to exhibit empathy.

Rika: On the outside, Rika looks like they don't care, but holy crud they are the Ulitmate Parent friend. You need something like coffee, a blanket, a hug, someone to talk to, or anything else? Rika is on it immediately. They don't look like it, but Rika can make most people comfortable with them just with their sense of humor and nonchalant personality. Heck, they might even bring out their Clodsire to cheer the person up because it has never failed before. Rika and Geeta are basically the sages of life advice in all of Paldea.

Tulip: Tries to boost your confidence by telling them not to bother with negative people or toxicity. She would recommend to focus on their positive traits and internal/external beauty. Mini mom friend.

Clavell: The spiritual dad for all Academy students. Not only does he cares deeply about their wellbeing, but tries to relate despite his old age. He would make them some tea and try to make his speech more relaxed to ease their tension.

Miriam: Another big hugger. Will not let them leave until she knows they are alright and safe. Her soft voice can calm the most angry of people.

Katy: Offers them one of her bakery items and tells them life is full of bitter and sweet moments, but overall a delicious treat and not to worry about the small stuff.

Brassius: Like Hassel, he probably will cry with them, but he may suggest taking up a creative outlet to release stress and offers them one of his art classes.

Saguro: Looks like he would make your anxiety worse, but he is a huge softie. His baby pokemon make everyone feel better and he is also a great cook!

🥪 — After your talk, though (and the deep kiss and wonderful cuddle session that followed), he’s probably got some questions. He wants to know more, both to be involved more in the queer community, and also to establish and respect a comfort zone for you!

🥪 — So speaking of the classic asexual “I’d rather have cake” meme, you find him baking you cakes with alarming frequency because he thinks he’s being funny.

🥪 — Overall, this really doesn’t alter your relationship with Arven much. You’re still his handsome and perfect boyfriend, which he’ll make known anytime you like. He already loved you so much and like he said, hearing you are ace changes none of that.

I desperately want to rant about my Pokémon AU but don't know where to start lmao so my ask box is open

Here's the general premise

Some stuff I've already discussed (yeah it's almost all Hop and Leon, shut up):

There are people known as Mythic Chosen. They're, well, chosen by Mythical Pokémon for various reasons and are destined for greatness and great responsibility.

Leon raised Hop and thus they end up reimagining their relationship as father-son. Leon later has a daughter and her and Hop see each other as siblings, Hop has a son and sees Leon as his grandfather, etc.

Hop is polyamorous and ends up with two OCs, the champion of Alola and his student/employee, as well as Bede and Arven.

The Callaghan family (Hop, Leon, their dad, their sister, their brother) is a psychic family from Ireland. All psychics get their powers from a Pokémon in their bloodline, and the magnitude of the powers is based on the Pokémon in question. The Pokémon they get their powers from is Cresselia.

When Eternatus was captured by Victor, he transferred his consciousness into Leon through his open wound and Dynamax Energy after attacking him before. Leon is now the host of Eternatus, who possesses him whenever Leon has panic attacks that relate to Hop being in danger. Eternatus eats people and it slowly lets him regain his mind and cognitive function beyond killing and maiming.

Hop has DID and has 9 other alters. I haven't talked about it but two of Hop's other partners (the OCs) both have OSDD.

Leon has Walking Corpse Syndrome. Whenever he's depressed, he's nihilistic and thinks he is a dead man after being "killed" by Eternatus, being strung along in an infinite cycle of life and death.

Hop and Leon don't go to Area Zero with Arven and the rest of the group because Hop is in a wheelchair. So, Hop leaves Dubwool with Arven. As Dubwool stays out of his pokéball at all times, his pokéball wasn't locked and Arven fought his parents alongside Koraidon and Miraidon with Dubwool.

There is a power system centered around the concept of Willpower. It can manifest in a Bond, where your Pokémon gains a bunch of buffs or changes significantly. Or a Domain, where the world around them or the other Pokémon change significantly.

Some significant OCs:

Astrid Grey, the daughter of Akito Grey, the founder of Rotom Co. A freshly ten year old girl who admired Pokémon trainers and wanted to be the Unovan Champion. Everyone in the group follows her during her journey to keep her safe in Unova's weather. She might be chosen for something greater, however...

Skylar Valks -> Toby Valks, the Champion of Alola and a Mythic Chosen. She was chosen by Zeraora. Her mother, Kazarah, was previously chosen by Zeraora before moving down the bloodline to Skylar when it was time for her personal journey. She comes out as a transgender male during the story, and Hop starts thinking about him very differently immediately following it. Him and Hop had chemistry that Hop never picked up on because he is gay. But when Toby comes out, Hop picks up on it and panics around him. Hop doesn't know how it happened, considering he hates the league and mega evolution and Toby clearly participates in both.

Miles Flynn, Hop's student and employee. Miles is a transfer student from the Mesagoza Academy, Uva House. His father is Raifort's older brother, and he was bullied severely for being the nephew of a teacher found to be weird. He has a cousin, Levy, whose mother is the sister of Raifort. Miles' parents moved out to Galar to finish Miles' education as Mesagoza Academy is insanely expensive. Miles became an intern at Hop's lab, and later became his protegé. He was severely neglected by his parents, and thus was very codependent with Hop. He goes through a personal arc of realizing that he is an independent adult and that his relationship with Hop must be mutually beneficial, and that he can't leech off him for everything. He is chosen by Koraidon.

Violet Spark, child of the Spark fashion company, one of the most famous and rich people alive, and a Mythic Chosen. She was chosen by Hoopa. She used to attend the Mesagoza Academy in the Uva House, and has a close family member named Scarlet who was in the Naranja House. She's a prissy and self-important business woman, for good reason. She's an extremely powerful trainer, but she's arrogant to a fault. The Unovan cold is taking a huge toll on her, now violently ill from the temperature, and thus is desperate to resolve it. She is a Paldean Champion.

Dark, a mysterious thirteen year old boy whose real name is unknown. He joins the group after defeating Astrid in a Pokémon battle with his oversized Steenee. However, he seems extremely nervous around Violet, who is determined to figure out what his deal is. He doesn't know that an external force is searching for him.

Levy Loranto, the cousin of Miles and best friend to Violet. She attended the Mesagoza Academy in the Uva House. She has an air of intrigue around her, a legend if you will. She moved to Galar later in life, however, her and Miles weren't in contact for years. Miles didn't even know she moved until Violet mentioned her. Both Miles and Levy didn't go outside enough to meet each other. But in the Galar Arc, they reconnect as cousins again.

Damien Walten, a mutual childhood friend of Leon and Hop. He met Leon first as he was struggling to catch a Wooloo for Hop. At the time, Leon was 9, Damien was 6, and Hop was 3. Damien distracted the Wooloo with grains and allowed for Leon to catch him. Damien was Leon's only friend as a child, as Leon was stuck between raising Hop and champion duties. As Leon became more and more busy, he entrusted Hop to Damien. Then, Hop and Damien became the closest of friends for many years. When Hop ran away from Postwick, he blocked everyone's numbers, including Damien. Damien moved to Ballonlea afterwards as Postwick has nothing to offer him. He maintains a relatively normal friendship with the rest of the Galar 5. He is chosen by Miraidon.

Rory Callaghan, the father of Hop and Leon. He abused them both severely before suddenly moving away to Kalos when they were 7 and 13 respectively. He was forced to move away by his mistress, who said she'd make him famous again after a child acting career failed to drugs. When the group comes to Kalos, he plays nice, but he knows that Leon and Hop won't budge. He wants his control back over his life, and thus tries to force his sons back into his life to maintain his old "perfect" life. He later is fused with an Annihilape and gains its powers combined with his pre-existing psychic prowess.

Jamie Callaghan, the estranged sister of Hop and Leon. She was neglected severely by Rory due to being seen as a mistake and collateral. She has a half sister (on mother's side) who she looked up to that died in a horrible accident. She named herself after her in remembrance. She's a very physically strong woman, 6'6 and able to wrestle with Machamps and win by a long shot. However, she's the only Callaghan to never manifest psychic powers. And it's unsure as to why...

The cast in Unova starts as Astrid, Skylar, Kazarah, Hop, Leon, Violet, and Dark. Bede joins the group in Unova as he was doing a fundraiser to save Glimwood Tangle there.

The cast in Galar adds Levy and Damien.

The cast in Kalos adds Jamie.

The cast in Paldea adds Arven.

In preparation for Pride month, here's a list of multiple Pokémon S/V characters and their gender and sexualities. Feel free to disagree and reblog with your own headcanons!

Nemona: Bisexual and genderqueer because of their overt ASD

Penny: Asexual and non-binary

Arven: Straight and probably cis-gender (if only parent issues were a sexuality or gender)

Juliana: bisexual like Nemona but leans more towards lesbian. Probably has a giant crush on them too.

Florian: I'm putting him as pansexual and cis-gender because that's what I'm feeling.

Hassel: MASSIVE GAY OLD MAN ENERGY. He is his adorable gay self when with Brassius making art. Not sure about gender but sure on sexuality

Larry: Straight and cis-gender. Bland as they come, but fitting for his normal type prowess.

Geeta: Huge bisexual energy. When she's leaning more towards her lesbian side, she's practically the ultimate wise elder lesbian. All newborn lesbians seek advice from her. Gender would probably be androgynous because look at her appearance lol she could rock wearing a dress and suit.

Rika: Oh my God. She's a hard-core butch lesbian which is obvious. They identify as nonbinary and can go by either she/he/they pronouns.

Tulip: Feminine lesbian who's in a relationship with butch Dendra. I see her as cis-gender.

Clavell: Straight and cis, but I see him being super accepting and supportive of students who come out and need someone for reassurance about who they are.

Brassius: Gay and probably is a drag queen in his spare time.

Grusha: Pansexual femboy who is a tsundere. I don't think I need to say more .

Iono: Soft lesbian who may occasionally be interested in men and uses she/they pronouns

Mela: butch lesbian and uses they pronouns

Ortega: Pansexual and transgender (AMAB)

Eri: Looks like a butch lesbian, but is pretty feminine. I see them as genderqueer

Oh my god you’re so sweet stop!! And of course you can, Arven deserves to have a pretty man tell him how important and loved he is. We (the gays) cherish our boy so much.

Step By Step — Arven x Reader

🥪 — Arven doesn’t know much about dancing. Arven, uh… doesn’t know much about a lot of things. If it’s not cooking and anything related to it, the Pokemon of Area Zero, or his dog, he really doesn’t know much. But he’s willing to learn, because you love it, and he loves you.

🥪 — When you do dance together, he’s often stumbling over himself like he’s got two left feet, and he’s definitely stepped on your toes plenty of times. But you always laugh it off. The little mistakes he makes are so adorable, and the way he gets all red-faced and huffy after you point them out is even cuter.

🥪 — Arven can’t manage much more than a simple box step, but that’s fine. It’s more than enough for your favorite pastime: slow-dancing in the kitchen at night. You can’t say why it’s the kitchen specifically. Maybe it’s the way the moonlight gleams off the tiles and countertops, maybe there’s something so domestic about dancing together there, or maybe you’re just a bit sadistic and like seeing Arven slip and slide when he’s wearing socks on the tile—maybe a bit of all of the above. Either way, it’s something you do often to decompress before bed.

🥪 — You two always fall into a slow dance, getting closer and closer to each other until one of you has the other held against his chest. And by that point you initiate phase two of your favorite activity and begin talking about him. About the both of you.

🥪 — You’re well aware he didn’t get much attention growing up, and Arven isolated himself from the other students at the academy for the longest time. He’s not used to being spoken to so kindly, so unashamedly adored. You remember one night, Arven interrupted your contented rambling about how much you love him to deliver a line that was absolutely sweet and heartfelt, but also the funniest thing you’d heard him say in weeks.

🥪 — “I used to be really scared about my sexuality. Now? I’m glad I’m gay. Seriously. I can’t even imagine being straight or something, and I’d be living my life never knowing how perfect loving a man like you is.”

🥪 — That was so sweet, a huge “awww” from you for sure, but at the same time you held the “I’m glad I’m gay” and “I can’t even imagine being straight or something” over his head for a long time, because that was so out of pocket and so comically worded and he needs to be reminded of it regularly because he doesn’t realize how hilarious he can be when he doesn’t try.

🥪 — He melts whenever you compliment him. Just melts. He’s so not used to it and you lay it on so thick.

🥪 — He’ll try and compliment you back, but again, he’s really not used to interacting with people like this and his compliments are anything but eloquent. You love him for it anyway, though.

🥪 — Your voice brings him so much comfort, you know? He hears you and everything is suddenly okay.

🥪 — Arven would prefer if the dances between the two of you stay in the privacy of home, both because he’s awkward being a recipient of affection at all, let alone in public, and he just knows he’ll trip and fall even more often than usual if it’s in front of people.

🥪 — He miiiiight want to ask for your kind words from time to time… but he’s too awkward and shy about it, it just comes out as 👉👈🥺

🥪 — All your words hang in his mind so often. Everything you say to him is tucked so lovingly away in his memories for him to smile to himself about later.

🥪 — Since your love language is so specific, he’ll be hitting you with his oddly specific love language. Cooking for you. Cooking for you all day, every day. You can hardly make your own meal in the house if Arven is around to have any say in it. Because he might not be good enough with words to return your compliments, but he’s plenty good in the kitchen to cook all your favorite meals.
