as someone who's been on ChickenSmoothie for over a decade nothing will ever be funnier to me than watching FlightRising players complain endlessly about their site and staff. CS users wish we had staff even remotely close to the level FR does. Maybe FR isn't perfect but at least they try and they own up to their mistakes, all the while actively keeping the site as with-the-times and engaging as possible for every type of player. Y'all really do not understand how good we have it on FR.

Most games are like that, in my experience. Hell, there's a salt page for CHICKENSMOOTHIE. Like, the pet collection game that has pretty much no gameplay and is JUST collection. All sorts of drama there. And there's hella drama going on in Neopets rn, probably drama for Xanje, probably drama for Wajas...if it's online, there's probably all sorts of drama if you look hard enough for it. Not even going to touch upon Fandom, some of those are a CESSPOOL in the drama department.

we're about halfway thru the 2023 chickensmoothie dot com summer event. this year's theme is "summer camp." when you take the quiz in the counselor cabin area of camp smoothie, counsellors avian & totoro tell you which of 7 different cabins (all named after food: vanilla, chocolate, creamsicle, berry, apple, green, chicken) you'll be staying in for the duration of your summer vacation.

i took the quiz with my brother since we share an account. it's not like we wouldn't have basically given the same exact answers even if we had both taken it independently anyways. then we read the descriptions of all of the different possible results. apple cabin certainly suits us best of all, so i'd say the results are pretty accurate.

i've been on cs for such a long time that i've done more than enough events for them to all kinda blend together in my memory at this point. this has especially been the case in recent years since i haven't had the time/energy/care to put in the effort to collect all of the different pet & item outcomes each day like i used to. but i thought that this quiz was really cute. i'll remember this summer event among my favorites just for that.

i will say, however, that this year's event was rushed, and it shows. the site news says that the event started late because the staff (read: nick) were busy working on some "behind the scenes security updates." there are way fewer outcomes to collect this year than what you'd usually expect from a typical cs event. many of the npcs offer nothing other than 1 free pet per day, and every player gets the same exact predetermined outcome at that. the lack of rng makes the daily rollover feel pretty anticlimactic since we're missing out on a lot of the fun of rushing to figure out how many different outcomes there are in total and then collect them all as fast as possible. but then again, like i said, i just cba to put in all that work anymore these days, so this honestly worked out in my favor.

I’ve been playing since 2009! I’m not super active any more, I thought I was ‘too old’ at 15 and gave away all my rare’s list pets, so I���ve been working on rebuilding on occasion when I visit, im very active during December of course :)

I go to check their account and they've been here since 2018?? whatever, i shrug it off, but a few days after i get this message, titled "Hello":

"Hi! I have a question. Do you have an account on chickensmoothie? If yes, are you willing to give away some rare/ omgsr pets if you don't play regularly? Do not understand me badly, I just really enjoying playing chickensmoothie :))"

Now, Admittedly FR has no use real use for “art theft” reports since they really don’t care about editing, recolors and so fourth of the official art.

But I really appreciate CS’s categories. The one at the bottom is even a “Hey there’s pron/NSFW stuff, look at this RIGHT THE HELL NOW!” category.

But do you have any idea how many times I’ve tried to report something on FR?

I should report someone because they’ve listed their birthday/age/real name.

What do I categorize it as? Harassment? Well, it’s not really. Spamming? So it can be in the same category as someone who just posts “cookie” over and over?

Inappropriate player name? Well, the mod wouldn’t even need to open the report because that’s obviously not true. *closes tab and walks away* I guess someone else can figure it out.

Since ninja trading is a big discussion now

Just letting all of ya know where this blog stands.

Here’s the difference between scamming and ninja-trading:

Scamming is when the scammer tries to tell the victim that said pet/items are NOT valuable and tries to explicitly claim their trade is fair, but in reality; it’s clearly not. 

Ninja-trading is sending the SAME terrible trade as a scammer; BUT the ninja trader does NOT leave a message, or any message that tries to convince the victim that the trade is fair; when it’s not. 

Despite one or two differences, it HAS the same intention: Ripping off players by getting valuable pets from victims for cheap. 

Ninja-traders and scammers normally prey on newer players, COPPA’s, or anyone they see as an easy target. Scams and ninja trading will and can happen any time of the year; but during and around December 18th, ninja trades and scams trading spikes. 

Ninja trading is INDEED a type of scamming, but the only reason WHY the mods cannot do it is to prevent innocent trades get flagged as one. There are people out there who do not know their rarities and still send trades. We were all new once.

Basically, ninja trading IS scamming but ninja traders are using a loophole in chickensmoothie’s rules. Even if staff cannot stop it rule wise, it’s still a disgusting thing to do.

There is no excuse that will make me like and tolerate ninja-trading. 

Only thing I I can ACTUALLY tolerate is an ex-ninja trader who now knows it’s wrong; and made efforts and attempts to return said ninja'd pets; redeeming themselves and not ninja trade ever again.

 What's even MORE sad is that ADULT ninja-traders are trying to justify their scummy ways. Hell, I’ve seen blogs that try to make ‘ninja traders are not bad and should be protected! uwu’ crap. Like, what the hell? Scamming kids in a pixel game is something to be proud of?

It's not 'business'. It's NOT 'teaching kids for real life scams'. It's you who haven't grew up, and you're being a shitty example to kids.

Ninja trading is the same level of shitty as scamming. There is no excuse to justify it.

From what a wise person once told me:

“You can’t throw glitter on a piece of shit, and attempt to convince others it’s not shit. No matter what you do, it’s still a stinky piece of shit. Glitter all over it or not.”

I know there were a few cool people there during my time.)” I joined cs in 2014 when I was 12, quit for a long time and just recently got back into it. Collecting pets is oddly comforting. But I avoid talking to anyone more than strictly necessary and I would never tie any of my online accounts together.

I am happy I stopped playing!
