The fact that BBC class never got a season 2 is my Roman empire and always will be. With that ending? With April becoming shadowkin? With the fallout between Charlie and Matteusz and all of Charlie's guilt over using the Cabinet of Souls and losing everything left of his people? The sudden change in dynamic between Ms. Quill and Charlie/Quill saving Charlie's life? Ram's reaction to April becoming Shadowkin? Tanya and Ram dealing with the ramifications of telling Charlie to use the Cabinet of Souls? The fact that they STILL HAVEN'T PROPERLY DEALT WITH THE FALLOUT FROM WHEN THEY WERE TRAPPED WITH THE PRISONER AND THE TRUTH-GUILT ROCK? Feral. Absolutely FERAL, I am telling you. I'm never getting over this. It's been seven years and I am still NOT OVER IT

in a world filled with books written by male authors that make me go "uhhhhh this writer does Not have a good outlook on masculinity and women, this was definitely written by a man", the Chaos Walking trilogy stands as a complete opposite where I spent the entire series being like "WOW I never really thought about masculinity in this way, WOW this is painting a really interesting picture of gender dynamics and generational relationships, this was definitely written by a man"

I’ve only read about two-ish pages of Chaos Walking, but I’m declaring Todd my enemy until further notice solely based on the changes in Manchee’s dialogue.
The way his happy little dog thoughts went from so excited about the squirrel (“Squirrel, Todd! Squirrel!”) to only being questions after Todd smacks him for running off (“Ow? Todd? Ow?”) because he doesn’t understand *why* he’s being punished like that has incited a rage inside me that cannot be described with words.

Just finished the Chaos Walking series recently. Was anyone else really scared Mayor Prentiss was going to turn out to be Todd's biological father. Because there were times I thought they were gonna go there.

Did a redraw of some old Chaos Walking art I did 11 years ago but this time actually drew my own version (The first one was copied from FollowTheRiver on DA, I was 15 and wanting to learn how to draw fanart without doing photo-realism).
I remember looking though DA in the early days and seeing people draw fanart of books that hadn't yet gotten TV shows or movies and being really inspired to learn how to do that myself. I haven't really put my improved skills to work much but I'm sure 15 year old me would be beyond happy to be able to finally draw what has only been imagined in my head for years now
If you haven't read the Chaos Walking series (The Knife of Never letting Go), I would highly recommend it. The movie just doesn't do it justice.

CHAOS WALKING SPOILERS
In Monsters of Men, the Mayors actions become more and more contradictory, all in the name of power, but still. First he wants war, then he wants peace, the war, then peace and on and on... But I realized, his actions aren't supposed to make sense.
He is going crazy. This entire book, he's going crazy, and that's why he dies. He's never truly defeated by Todd because he defeats himself through his endless quest for power. And it's because of this constant influx of knowledge that he's switching between war and peace, because how can he decide when the planet can't decide, and he is all of the knowledge in the planet?? His decisions aren't supposed to make sense!!
