sanji and usopp start dating and the crew knows almost instantly because, well, it's not hard to tell and they've been invested in their relationship for a long time (invested = fucking tired of seeing them pining). and now they can finally be happy together and show it to the world freely which, in retrospect, it's fucking awesome. in theory, it's great. but sanji is not used to PDA and even less to people wanting to touch him or accepting his touch. most of the time he's just talk and girls pretty much always ignore him and, well, men- he doesn't have good experiences with men.
but the way usopp touches him in front of the others, oh so domestically and casually... it make his heart go crazy. the cook never knows how to react to that. and, turns out, that even if he's known for his flirtatious personality, he's a blushing mess when things like this happen. but usopp takes this new phase of their relationship so, so well... he's the calmest sanji has ever seen him.
it starts with usopp holding his hand when the crew is walking around a new island together, and they are not even behind them. in fact, everybody can see them holding hands. people often look at them in the streets, strangers. or perhaps that's just sanji's perception. but even if he's all anxious about this and his hand is obviously shaking, he doesn't let go of usopp. the sniper seems to notice this and squeezes his hand a few times to catch his attention and smile at him. sanji's heart lets go of its insecurities for a second, then.
it seems that usopp is extremely comfortable when it comes to touching sanji which, okay, it's understandable because the whole crew is extremely clingy and sanji is not far behind that fact. but he always rests his chin on sanji's shoulder while his hands find their place on his hips to pull him close, as if sanji's body is exactly where he belongs. and the cook is not used to somebody wanting his warmth this much. even less when they're around other people. but usopp does this constantly, with a hint of protectiveness and a little possessiveness. sanji is still getting used to it, but he always ends up holding the hands on his hips or kissing usopp's forehead whenever it happens. his heart feels a bit lighter once he does so. he thinks that, maybe, he can start doing these things too.
usopp doesn't even think about it when he touches sanji, the cook realizes. it happens almost instinctively. because whenever they're sitting somewhere together with the others, his hand always ends up resting on sanji's lap. the first time it happens it drives sanji so fucking insane that he has to take a deep breath and try really, really hard not to focus on it. because otherwise, he'll probably end up going into cardiac arrest. but he likes the feeling of usopp's fingertips on his legs, especially whenever he's talking to somebody else. because it's like telling sanji that he's there for him, even when he isn't even talking to him. that sanji is appreciated there, too.
the way the sniper intertwines their feet together under the kitchen table when they're eating with the crew does things to sanji. because they always sit in a corner of the table (that way sanji, if he needs to go back to the kitchen, it's easier for him to move) and it seems that nobody else notices the way usopp is grinning at him. but sanji knows. sanji knows they could just see the blush covering his face at any moment. and yet, he sits closer to usopp anyway while he takes another bite of his food.
sometimes, depending on the island and the adventure, they sleep in the woods. which is fine with all of them (for the most part. nami isn't that happy about it and sanji wouldn't mind an actual bed), except that it's always so fucking cold. so it's not weird to see them cuddling. it's not odd to see robin and brook resting against franky's huge chest or luffy practically lying on top of zoro. nami cuddles with chopper and jinbe, too. so usopp holding him in their sleep should not be a problem and should not make sanji this nervous. but it makes his heartbeat pound harder and faster than usual. and so he just cuddles closer to him because, well, if he's going to be unable to sleep because of having his boyfriend this close, at least he can enjoy his warmth for the night.
it doesn't matter if they're talking with strangers. people they just met on a new adventure. whenever they're sitting next to each other on a couch, usopp's arm ends up behind his head. which- okay. well. sanji needs a moment to process all of this because even if it isn't a romantic gesture necessarily and they're not even touching, the urge to rest his head on top of usopp's shoulder haunts him. and even if usopp isn't actually doing anything, the fact that they're so close (their legs touching, too. hips touching) isn't doing anything good to sanji's critical way of thinking.
it becomes a habit to bother sanji while he cooks, even when the others are around, too. every morning usopp stays with him while making breakfast. and every morning usopp's hands find their way to sanji's hips. he lazily kisses his neck while he does so, and if sanji burns their food, it's going to be all usopp's fault. it doesn't help that he always finds usopp wearing one of his wrinkled shirts. it- it doesn't help at all.
usopp takes every opportunity to kiss sanji, too, now that he doesn't have to hold back. and it isn't like sanji is complaining in the slightest (he's literally the luckiest man alive) he's just afraid he might fucking die from blood loss. because sanji now has the necessity to bring usopp little snacks and drinks whenever he does so for the girls, and unlike when he did so only for nami and robin, usopp kisses him as thanks every. damn. time. so he has to offer food to his boyfriend after he already has done it for the girls, because if usopp kisses him this tenderly when he's holding food, he might as well drop it from the way his heart beats against his chest.
and, well, sanji is still getting used to this. getting used to being loved like this. it's easy for him to just go over some girl and yell cheesy stuff with a grin on his face because that's not- that's not real. he worships women like goddesses and he does not expect them to love him back. there's safety, there. he knows they're going to reject him and he does not care. but he has been holding back from touching and talking to usopp in so many ways, fearing rejection, that now he doesn't know what to do with everything he feels for him. he thinks he's going to explode. besides, men are- men are different. men's bodies are something he likes, of course, now that he has realized. but it's harder to accept since all the men he has ever known have been so violent towards him. usopp would never, that's for sure but... it still makes him nervous to touch him.
even if he's extremely touch-starved and wants nothing but to kiss his boyfriend every second of his life.
he kind of feels guilty about it. not being able to be the one touching usopp first, even if he always responds to his boyfriend's caresses when the sniper makes the first move.
so sanji thinks that maybe words will help. if he can't be the first one touching usopp, then words will have to be his way of showing affection to him.
sanji keeps calling him everything but his name. honestly, he has forgotten the last time he called usopp something else that wasn't stuff like: mon chéri, mon trésor, mon amour, mon coeur, ma moitié... and, well, all the things usopp has to ask what they mean because he has no idea when it comes to french and sanji loves that just the tone of his voice makes his sniper all flustered. "his sniper" being another pet name, by the way.
it's hard to say he loves usopp at first. because those are strong words and even though it's exactly what he feels, he isn't used to saying it to anybody this seriously. even with his father back at the baratie those words were something they always expressed with actions or were only said when sanji had a particularly rough night when he was younger. but once he gets used to saying them, he can't stop. sanji loses count of how many times he tells usopp he loves him every day. when they wake up. between kisses. between smiles. when they're fighting. when usopp's sleeping. when he's working. when he gives him food. the words always come whenever they're together. and when silence speaks for both of them, sanji feels the need to whisper them into usopp's lips. and whenever they are not together, sanji keeps telling the sea he loves usopp, even if the sniper can't hear him then.
he lets usopp do the talking in bed, most of the time. but whenever sanji gets the chance to speak, he doesn't miss the way usopp's body twitches with every word of praise he pronounces along with his moans. and it's always quiet and low, fearing somebody else might catch them, but it's not like he needs anybody but usopp to hear his confessions of love between his sounds of arousal, thank you very much.
sanji speaks about sogeking the same way he speaks about usopp, perhaps a bit more dramatically. it always makes his boyfriend blush with embarrassment, but he never admits he knows sanji is talking about him. it makes everything more fun, sanji thinks. and perhaps it's easier for usopp to take praise when it's directed to his alter ego instead of him. sanji has always loved the way that cape looks on him.
so they keep touching and talking and showing their love to everybody around them and... they don't care. the crew does not care. in fact, they look happier than when they weren't dating (if you ignore mosshead's rolling of eyes every damn time, as if he wasn't all over their captain on a daily basis, but alright. whatever. fucking idiot).
and sanji feels, after a long time, that he finally has somewhere to call home and more people to call family. and if they finally let him show his love (the way he truly wants to love someone) he isn't going to hold back anymore.

Here’s something interesting! Read back to Marineford arc and consider what Whitebeard might have meant to Crocodile. It was only after the witnessing WB getting stabbed and talking to his adopted son that Croco did a 180 to protect Luffy. I try to read WB’s dialogue to guess what he said affected Croco so much. My favorite theory is that WB is Croco’s bio dad and thus Luffy’s other grandpa! The family tree would be so entangled lol
This is one of those things which makes me feel insane because, I swear to god, around like 2011 I remember Oda saying in an interview that he based Whitebeard on a gay friend he had, which was like part of the reason why Whitebeard's crew WAS his family, instead of him having like a wife and bio-kids. That Whitebeard was gay. But like, no matter how I try looking that up I can't actually find any information to confirm this?? Like no interview or as much as a mention of an interview like that ever existing??? DID I IMAGINE THAT??? IT'S SUCH AN OLD, CORE MEMORY, I CAN'T IMAGINE HOW I WOULD'VE IMAGINED IT UP??? OR WAS IT JUST AN EARLY 2010S TUMBLR HOAX?????? I FEEL DERANGED
Honestly, considdering the way Marco of all people found it unimaginable WB had kids, let alone that Weevil was the son of Whitebeard and Stussy (the current running theory being that Weevil is actually like a clone of WB with Stussy's DNA mixed in), I do personally find it unlikely Whitebeard has any bio-kids at all. Like, that felt like the implication there to me, that Marco doesn't believe WB had bio-kids with anyone, and I would be inclined to believe Marco there as he's kind of meant to be seen as an authority figure in a way (at least on this subject)
At most, if the "Xebec is Croc's dad" theory did turn out to be true, it would actually make sense if Whitebeard had adopted Crocodile after the God Valley incident-- whether the kid stayed is debatable, since WB did still betray his dad so he might've ran away, but regardless, at most I could see WB being Croc's adoptive father. At most. (Alternatively, as Oda has stated in an SBS, Whitebeard didn't believe women belong on a battlefield so it could be plausible he didn't want to keep a 9 year old child on his ship either. So he could've picked up Baby Croc until he found a safe place to ditch him in, kinda like how Franky ended up)
I have been feeling tempted to do a re-analysis of Croc in Marineford because, when I did my first analysis, I was too Lost In The Sauce and far too excited about the mere idea of Crocodad to form coherent, even semi-objective thoughts. But now that it's been a few months, I feel like I could really look at it with a more fresh perspective
But let's just look this exchange Crocodile and Whitebeard had really quick
As far as we know, the only person Crocodile has ever lost to (aside from Luffy) was Whitebeard, and that loss was the thing that crushed his spirit and dreams. Whitebeard, the most powerful man in the world. He who humbled Crocodile and taught him his place in the powerscaling of the world, that Crocodile was at best a silver medalist and could never catch up to him.
That must've been Crocodile's entire worldview, for so many decades. That WB was #1, an absolute fact nothing could change.
But time comes for all.
Whitebeard has become old. He is no longer in his prime.
Tumblr media
"I can't remain the strongest forever"
Even if Whitebeard didn't say that outloud, I'm sure in this moment Crocodile understood that deep inside. That the absolute he had believed in wasn't an absolute after all, that a new era is approaching and the kids (Luffy and Ace) on this battlefield are going to take their places (his and WB's) sooner or later, whether they like it or not.
And of course; this isn't the same Whitebeard who beat Crocodile's ass over 20 years ago. Taking his head would not give him the satisfaction and catharsis he wanted.
Trying to get past Jozu and Marco and the rest of WB's crew, some of whom might be more dangerous than WB himself at this point, would not give Crocodile the revenge he wanted. It wouldn't even be worth the effort. If anything, taking WB's head here and now would just give the World Government exactly what they'd want.
Like, putting aside all the theories, your Crocodads and Whitebeard's bio-kids aside. ('Cause sometimes you need to look past the rose-tinted theory glasses even if you don't want to) (And I need to remind myself to do that more often tbh) I do think the main reason Crocodile ends up assisting Luffy, is simply because of that. Whitebeard isn't worth it anymore. He's just an old man. Crocodile could kill him, without a doubt, it just wouldn't change anything.
So he just moves onto the next thing on his list of priorities; not letting the Government get what they want, out of spite.

hi!!! how ab one piece for the ask game
WAUGH THANK YOU FOR THE ASK i wasn't expecting anyone to actually send something in hold on
Favorite character: SO MANY unfortunately but if i HAD to narrow it down,,, nami, smoker, jinbei, and crocodile FOR SURE they are so neat and cool and im going to explode
Least Favorite character: i have very few characters that i actively dislike that aren’t meant to be in some way unlikable or i just don't forget about immediately but if i had to pick a character that’d gotten on my nerves from a writing standpoint it’d probably be caribou why the fuck is he still HERE 😭🥲
5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): frobin, any ship with usopp bc he deserves the world, also speaking of which LUSOPP, zolu, also any ship with buggy bc it’s always super funny
Character I find most attractive: pre-time skip robin, crocodile again (sorry 😔)
Character I would marry: franky hands down bc i am a sucker for goofy haha characters and that he takes so much pride in himself and his inventions and is unabashedly out there and that he looks out for the other crew members and aaaaaaaaa
Character I would be best friends with: odd choice here but i wanna hang out with kokoro :) she seems nice
a random thought: crocomom theory is wild as hell and likely never going to happen for a litany of reasons but i am (jokingly) holding out hope that oda goes "you know what fuck you" and decides one day to destroy the one piece reddit once and for all bc it would be really really funny
Tumblr media
[ID: A cropped image depicting the uppermost portion of the 'Gee Bill! How Come Your Mom Lets You Eat Two Weiners?' meme template. The speech bubble contains the words, "Gee Luffy, how come Oda gave you three dads?" End ID.]
An unpopular opinion: people that hate nami simply do not understand nami sorry not sorry
my canon OTP: not a lot of canon relationships to begin with but silver rayleigh and shakuyaku are really interesting, especially with the newest chapters!! i wanna know more about those weird shady gossip grandmas and how they met <3
Non-canon OTP: whatever zoro and luffy have going on bc they are clearly soulmates and in love dont test me
most badass character: again, SO MANY but if i had to narrow it down,, i’d say luffy and zoro, especially zoro bc he gets so many moments to just be unhinged and freak everyone else out while luffy does things that relate to how just plain and simply kind yet selfish he is and how he does insane things for his friends bc he can AND will and NO ONE could ever stop him makes me emotional okay
pairing I am not a fan of: lawlu : /
character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): sanji. for obvious reasons.
favourite friendship: nami and usopp fr fr! also jinbei and luffy
character I want to adopt or be adopted by: sorry everyone toko's my kid now she has suffered enough goddamn it 😤😤

One Piece 1059 was insane with info and questions.
And I have things to say about it.
Firstly, the reveal that Shakky was the Empress of Amazon Lily a while back is a surprise I should have seen coming. I love the implications of it, many of which I will get into.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Seraphim Pacafistas seemingly being Lunarian child versions of Hancock and Mihawk is a very interesting concept, and opens the door to the very likely theory that there are AT LEAST 5 more modeled after the child versions of the other original Warlords, plus maybe newer ones like Law, Teach, and Weevil. (This would also mean a child Buggy Pacafista, which I hope gets wrecked with minimal effort because even with Lunarian powers he’s a joke.) Also, with the long running theory that Crocodile’s secret Ivankov has been keeping is that he is a trans man, seeing his child self could wind up proving things once and for all.
But what I really wonder with these Seraphim Pacafistas is if it was limited to just the Warlords. Perhaps they can recreate other pirate legends, and we might see a young Gol D. Roger Pacafista too… one who subsequently looks a lot like Ace, and Luffy might struggle to fight.
It’s hard to say if Teach would really get any use out of Hancock’s power, since it’s only ever worked if you’re attracted to her, but perhaps that’s a misdirection like the nature of Luffy’s fruit had been. It could be she actually has a Mythic Zoan type for Medusa or the like, and it could be applied to more than just those with romantic hearts but she’s only scratched the surface. Her sisters got snake-based Zoan fruits, it would make a certain amount of sense if her “Gorgon’s Curse” was more true than she realized.
Capturing Koby is a bold strategy for Blackbeard, perhaps he’ll try to turn him over to the Cross Guild to collect the bounty on him. That would put the lad in a position to meet Alvida again, and I look forward to the potential such a meeting holds.
However, the meatiest theories (and they are not my own, I am just sharing them here) have to do with Shakky. Characters having only one name is pretty common in this series (half the Straw Hats don’t have last names, for example), but it’s become my theory that Shakky is not simply just Shakky. Behold, former Kuja Empress:
Boa Shakuyaku
Tumblr media
I know we give Oda a lot of shit for his “women have the same face” syndrome, but she and Hancock really do have a lot of similar features so I firmly do believe she could be Hancock’s mother.
Tumblr media
Plus, the ages work well to support it with Shakky being 64 and Hancock being 31. Whether or not this means she’s also the mother of Marigold and Sandersonia is a bit more difficult to be confident about. But latent gigantism in people’s genetics happens pretty often in this world, so it’s not terribly farfetched.
With the revelation that Shakky was Kuja Empress comes the question of how she met Rayleigh, and I have a few theories on this too. Either they crossed paths while he was with Roger and she was leading the Kuja, or maybe... just maybe... after she had her daughter(s) from some other man and the Boa sisters were abducted, the two met on the hunt to find the girls and they hit it off while bringing the girls home once they had been liberated by Fisher Tiger? It’s hard to say if Rayleigh is Hancock’s father, and I’m not putting too much stock in that idea by comparison.
However. I have an even more out there theory that I think really ties some loose ends of the universe together and draws on real mythology in a way we know Oda loves to do. Shakky wasn’t just a pirate for the Kuja. She was part of a far more dangerous group:
Tumblr media
The Rocks Pirates.
According to Greek mythology, during the time of the Trojan War the Amazons were lead by a queen named Penthesileia, who fought with a silver battle axe. While we have gotten next to no information about the Rocks Pirates outside of the most all-star alumni, how little they got along, and what a great battle taking them down at God Valley was, we do hear a few other names dropped for who was in this crew’s ranks. Shiki “the Golden Lion”, Captain John (whose treasure Buggy keeps wanting to find), Wang Zhi (Who apparently lost ownership of Fulla-Lead Island to Blackbeard thanks to the events of the Rocky Port Incident), and... “Silver Axe”. Now I may just be stretching so far you’d think I ate the Gum Gum Fruit, but that sounds like the epitaph of an Amazon Empress turned pirate. Even if it wasn’t Shakky herself, Oda seems like the type to use this as a way to reference obscure Greek mythology and say there was a Kuja Amazon in the Rocks Pirates, especially with the current Empress Boa Hancock having a Medusa related power.
So until further notice, I will believe that the Rocks Pirates included “Silver Axe” Boa Shakuyaku. And it would be a heck of a meet cute if she met Rayleigh while they were on opposites sides of the God Valley incident and hit it off really well in the aftermath. Speaking of whom, his name being Silvers Rayleigh would make it even better of a connection if she was “Silver Axe” Shakuyaku. Yet another reason for them to get along!

ALRIGHT. I'm throwing this wild-ass crack theory out there:
Ready for the insane logic leading up to the stupidity? Ok cool.
We know that Toki had the power to send herself and other people through time and that she had a (as of yet, unknown) passionate desire to get to Wano.
And we know that Zoro has something to do with Wano (Oda mentioned in an SBS about "Zoro's lineage" and then cut himself off - classic Oda. . .)
The running gag for everyone's favorite swordsman (and, in fact one of the oldest running gags in the series) is that he's always getting lost, right? He has absolutely no idea where he is at any given time. Well. . . .
What if Zoro is LOST IN TIME?
Here's my hallucination:
Zoro and Toki were siblings and as a child, Toki accidentally sent her brother 800+ years into the future. Perhaps she had previously only had the power to send people ahead by a few minutes or so, therefore he wouldn't have considered how far into the future he was. He doesn't know where the hell he is, because the world likely has changed quite a bit in the last several CENTURIES. What if Toki's prediction about the nine red Scabbards wasn't about Kin'emon and pals (who have actually numbered more than nine), but about Zoro? Actual scabbards hold what exactly? Swords. Who can fight with nine swords at once? F*CKING ASURA ZORO THAT'S WHO.
Zoro had also gotten lost while on the way to the castle with Luffy, thus he was absent when the gang first found out about Kin'emon and company's time travel adventure and wouldn't have heard anyone mention Toki. That story was the only time she had been mentioned by name around the Straw Hats. We never saw him filled in on the story in either the manga or the anime, even after the Straw Hats had reconvened with the Scabbards. And there's precedent in the series for Zoro (and Luffy for that matter) not bothering to be filled in on the reason behind why they are fighting. He often simply knows there's an enemy to fight and takes it from there.
I think it would also tie in nicely with the few moments he's had with Momonoske, wherein the latter seems to truly admire the swordsman. Not to mention one of Zoro's first (non comedic) character rich moments in the new world was the double spread page where he declared to Kin'emon that he would help him rescue Momonoske.
And despite a fair few folks who ship Zoro and Hiyori, there hasn't been any actual 'romance' between the two; yeah, she curled up to him while he was sleeping, but I think it was played more as a gag than anything else (it certainly fits Oda's sense of humor).
I dunno. I've had this crackhead theory bouncing around in my head for about a year now, but finally seeing Toki in color gave me the mad desire to actually write the damn thing out.

this is true of all fandoms, and it's nothing new, but i wanna bitch for a second
(I deserve it after working sick af for 14 hours straight)
going to any One Piece tag is so annoying bc of how broad the spectrum of the posts are
on one post you'll find some cool fan art, the next will be a takedown of a character, the next will be non-tagged spoilers, the next will be some joke, the next will be a detailed conspiracy theory explaining how Point A connects to Point 74...etc
and there's no real way to sift through the bullshit you want to avoid in order to find the nuggets of gold that you want
for example
regarding One Piece, all I wanna do is fuck around. i wanna make fun of characters and their stupidity. I want to point out absolute insane things
like how pencils don't really exist in that entire fucking world, just goddamn quill pens (there were some on Nami's drafting desk at Arlong's, but that's the literal only time I've seen anything pencil-related)
or like how we've never seen a fucking motorized Model T-esque automobile, despite submarines having the capabilities to serve as hospitals and operating rooms, and Franky putting together the Black Rhino FR-U 4 and the Brachio Tank 5. but vehicles? with wheels? that transport people and goods from one place to another using a combustible engine? the fuq is that shit???
However, then you have your conspiracy/spoiler-y posts
Tumblr media
the last time I cared about massive conspiracies and long-term spoilers was back during the most recent Star Wars drama regarding ultimate Big Bads, Rey's parents, Reylo (and whether it was right/wrong), etc. and honestly? I got done with it so fuckin fast
Tumblr media
maybe 5, 10 years ago I would have been right there with you, digging around every screen capture I could find, trying to find hidden clues about Zoro's parents or who the fuck Shanks actually is (besides some bumfuck pirate who spends most of his time making poor fashion choices while drunk on deserted islands)
maybe accidentally seeing the prevailing theory about the All Blue wouldn't have made me so upset back then. but holy fuckers, I'm like....livid about it now. that was one of the mysteries that I was enjoying toying around with in my head, allowing myself the pleasure of just enjoying a really goddamn great story with mystery and wonder for the literal first time in ~15 years (English Major, then freelance writer for the collegiate-level educational field, etc, so lots of analyzing and picking up clues and hints about how stories will end and why i could tell)
and after doing that for so long..............movies and books and stories don't get fun anymore. It's like you're constantly trying to outsmart the author and figure out plots and twists and endings without experiencing the story they've created for you
so like.........basically I don't wanna go to the One Piece tag at the end of the day and see someone's VERY LONG post about who Shanks really is behind the scenes, like they've watched the show three times in 8 days and finished the whole manga in 3 just for this assignment, and they've found all the evidence that supports their conclusion, and now, they're presenting it to me and not putting it under a cut or whatever
and I mean, if that type of analysis and writing is fun for them, more power to them. but just to them specifically
the problem is that i see it on the tag
even if I don't read the post, even if I quickly scroll past after realizing what it is, I still see the title and scan a few of the first lines. so now my ruminating ADHD mind won't ever let me forget that I know a potential major plot point, and the massive gaping hole which is leading me to that conclusion desperately wants to be filled with information
ugh. anyways.
HERE ARE THE CONSPIRACIES THAT I ACTUALLY WANT TO SEE ON THE TAG
whether or not Luffy has a hard time whacking himself off bc he keeps pulling at his dick harder and faster and more erraticly, which for a normal dick would be fine, but for a gummy dick would be like trying to whack off with those glittery stress water cucumbers
Tumblr media
whether Sanji is a total virgin (he is...nobody needs to answer that for me) (and if you backtalk and say he's not a virgin, then you're wrong)
whether Zoro is a virgin (common sense tells me that there's NO WAY that motherfucker hasn't put that body and muscular jaw to good use, but on the other hand, he's also the type who 1) is either uninterested in sex bc it doesn't bring him closer to his goal, or 2) ignores sex because it may distract him from his goal)
what form does Chopper take when he has to use the bathroom? does he even use a bathroom? or does he wander into the wilderness like a reindeer and let it plop out like old times?
if you were suddenly Pleasantville'd into One Piece, who would you really actually fucking be? (not who you WANNA be, but who you'd legit turn into bc they're absolutely you) (i'd be Chimney and Gonbe...my soul would split in half and occupy their tiny little bodies while i created rabid chaos on a miniature scale)
Also when I'm scrolling through tags, I wanna see fan art (not of Zosan though...stop drawing pictures of my boyfriend cheating on me with that greasy ashtray). I wanna see jokes. I wanna see smut (good smut, please, for the love of everything). I wanna have a super fun, light-hearted time with One Piece and basically dick around with people on the tag. but it just sucks bc I don't feel like I can ever scroll through the tags because those random spoiler-y posts that come up unexpectedly absolutely ruin it for me
idk idk idk i'm tired and going to bed now

The Revolutionary Army
A common sentiment I’ve seen among the OP fan community (especially the YouTuber’s) is the idea that the revolutionary army will crash Reverie and in the process will “kidnap” Shirahoshi (because Robin told them she’s an Ancient Weapon. I disagree. But this does beg the question: what exactly is the role of the Revolutionary Army in the series?
Being one of the most mysterious groups in the entire series we know relatively little about the Revolutionaries apart from that their leader is Monkey D. Dragon and their goal is to overthrow the World Government. They seem to primarily achieve their goal by collecting information on corrupt Kingdoms/Kings so they can expose their crimes and by providing weapons/resources to rebel forces to help overthrow dictatorships. Given all the it seems to make sense that crashing Reverie would be a perfect “hammer blow” to the World Government and it would send a powerful message to the entire world. But there’s a couple of reasons I don’t see that being the case.
First and foremost is my own personal bias that there is only ONE person that will crash Reverie and that is Blackbeard. I’ve written about this extensively in an editorial and so you can take a look at it for the full theory. The short of it is I feel that after Wano there is going to be a massive gulf that develops between Luffy/Blackbeard as the latter springboards of the success of the former to make himself the undisputed front runner for the title of Pirate King. I also theorized that in the final war there will be three factions/powers and each will be in control of one of the Ancient Weapons. The revolutionaries and various SH allies will have the Pluton, the Marines Uranus, and Blackbeard will have Poseidon (for a while anyway).
The second reason is the clash between the Blackbeard pirates and the Revolutionary army. There are numerous varied theories on the outcome of said battle but I personally feel that the Revolutionaries were dealt a devastating blow and they need time to recoup their losses. An attack on Mariejoa would be almost suicidally insane given that it is likely to be heavily guarded/protected (especially now that Akainu has taken over).
So what will the revolutionaries do? I personally feel that we are going to witness the Revolutionaries having their own “Reverie” running concurrently to the official one. It would give Oda the opportunity to introduce their hierarchy and shed some light on their future and how they are going to recoup their losses. Just because the big players aren’t making a scene by crashing the party doesn’t mean I don’t think they aren’t going to have an presence there.
During Doflamingo’s “Throne Wars” speech Oda showed us the shadowed outlines of all the major players in the climax of the OP story. Among the revolutionaries there were 3 familiar faces and 1 mysterious figure we haven’t seen yet. My prediction is that this mysterious third commander is either a King/Noble or some kind of mole that has infiltrated Reverie so that he can collect information to pass on to Dragon. This person may also act as a point of contact for the various SH allied Kingdoms to set up a meeting with Dragon after Akainu’s coup. We may even see a few other recognizable faces at either the official or unofficial Reverie that introduces us to covert members (Kureha, Heracles, Zoro’s sensei perhaps) of the organization that have been in hiding until the time was right.
And the last point I’d like to make is regarding Shirahoshi. As of now there are only *3* people that know she is an Ancient Weapon: Robin, Neptune, and Caribou. However, as far as the first two are concerned, they are the only ones in possession of this knowledge. Now I’ve seen countless people theorize that Robin would have told the Revolutionary Army about this and they will pre-emptively move to “safeguard” Shirahoshi and thus invade Reverie. There’s just a couple of problems with this:
1)
The greatest protection Shirahoshi currently has is that of anonymity. No one has a reason to suspect that she is anything more than a giant mermaid princess and thus her value relates only to that. IF any of the Kings/WG found out that she was an Ancient Weapon they would throw everything they have at each other to be able to possess her. Having the revolutionaries show up and either kidnap her or proclaim who she is would not only paint a giant target on her back but also one on the Revolutionaries. It would be a major dick move on Robins part to knowingly impart that knowledge knowing full what the consequences could be (no matter how close she is to the Revolutionaries or how much she trusts them).
 2)
Robin is one of the most notoriously tight-lipped characters in the series. She is a treasure trove of information and secrets that she keeps bottled up because she doesn’t trust ANYONE else with it. Not even the SH’s. She presumably knows what the deal with Kuma is but decided to keep silent when the SH’s were discussing him. She presumably knows the location of the ORIGINAL Pluton but again has chosen not to impart that knowledge. She has no reason to tell anyone about Shirahoshi because I highly doubt she feels anyone would use that knowledge considering what is best for Shirahoshi. As far as she knows she and Neptune are the only ones aware of her true nature and the best move she can make to keep Shirahoshi safe is to stay silent.
It’s almost been a personal mantra of mine but I truly do expect Wano/Reverie to be the arcs that constitute a major turning point in the series. We are going to see all the big players start moving, like chess pieces on a board, to ready themselves for the final world changing war that we all know is coming. The Revolutionaries have been sitting on the sidelines for most of the series and it’s time for them to make their move. I just think it’s a subtler thrust rather than the broad overhand stroke that many other fans expect it to be.

Chapter 856 - review
Tumblr media
New chapter brought something we all been waiting for, Sanji and Luffy back together ! (well technically it happened already in last chapter but this is where the most important things happened)
Let’s start with Bobbin who is shot. Honeslty I thought he would be capable to do more but somehow understand that Oda wanted to keep him away from Sanji and Luffy. We only get to know that there are 3 shadows Bobbin sees before collapsing. So the big question is who did it? These all again just guesses but I think there are few good culprits and the first one that crossed my mind was Capone and his gang who decide to backstab. I think @yakkionigirizoro summed up this so well here so all I can say is that it is highly possible that this theory would become true. I mean we have a gang that reminds us of mafia and secondly Capone really hasn’t been much around, weird isn’t it?
Tumblr media
The we have Judge and others partying at BM’s castle. It seems like they have had some sort of drinking competition and they just talk trash like always.  If Sanji only heard that Nami is “it” for them he’d be so pissed off.

While we discussed with @ayumiyui about this newest chapter she brought up a interesting detail, that even though Sanji’s brothers have had lots of girls around (Cosette, Puding and now those barmaids) still, Nami is the only one they seem to want. So maybe their interest in Cat Burglar will offer us a chance to see something like Sanji lashing out totally if they end up threatening Nami later.   Again referring to his words back in Skypiea:

Oda is still keeping us unaware of Vinsmoke’s identity without the mask. Since it’s such a huge secret I assume we can wait up to see something “shocking” once someone makes that mask fall of but what would Judge hide? Curly eyebrows maybe? Anyways, it better be something worth waiting for ! on the other hand who cares about that insane man.  Reiju is the only one awake, I wonder what she is thinking.Well she has pretty much accepted her faith to get shot by BM pirates but maybe she is planning something?
Tumblr media
Before focusing on the main event let’s take a look to Mirror World where are important details to find as well. They have no idea where Sanji would be but luckily they have Nami with them and she finally has time to speak about that incident between Sanji and Luffy (and also with her). Whoever still dares to claim that Nami has no importance in this arc or in OP in general will be wrong. Knowing what a stubborn captain they have and what has happened Nami can give a good guess about where both of them are.
More importantly (from the shipping perspective), take a look at  Nami’s expression after Jinbe’s comment. This was very well summed up by @besanji93 here so hope you don’t mind  me borrowing a bit of your thoughts mate.  First of all, it’s clear that Nami feels uneasy. It must be quite a burden to try not to cry meanwhile recalling such a sad story. Secondly it must be quite painful to hear Jinbei saying that it won’t be easy to bring him back. Well she knows it already but who knows, maybe she is also still afraid of the worst. Let’s not forget that she is the only one at the moment who knows that Sanji is about to get shot by Pudding (Luffy knows it as well but he is elsewhere).
Tumblr media
By the way, while Nami is speaking there are those things floating on the background. I don’t know the right term but seeing them around in those panels is kind of interesting because aren’t those “dustballs” always appearing when there is something dramatic happening (for example when Sanji bid farewell to them) ?  I wonder if that has been made to highlight Nami’s feelings bout this current situation?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we have Sanji and Luffy reuniting in the outskirts of the town, this scenery is so damn beautiful and sad at the same time. We see half mummifed Luffy so happy to see his cook aroun and then we have Sanji who seems to avoid the eye contact. It’s just unimaginable how he must’ve felt at the moment, the mixture of joy to see Luffy alive and keeping his promise but also all the self-hate abou driving his captain into situation like that.
Tumblr media
Like said earlier, this arc is full of parallels and here are listed few of them  - Sanji having a mask to hide his bruises --> little Sanji wearing a iron mask  - Sanj bringing food for Luffy in rain --> little Sanji bringing food for Sora in rain  - Luffy eating bento --> Sora eating bento in chapter  - Luffy punching Sanji --> Sanji kicking Luffy in chapter 844
Sanji still tries to play it cool and name reasons why he can’t leave while still avoiding the eye contact. This leads to Luffy showing him piece of his mind. He threw quite a punch but we all agree that Sanji deserved it. It was again Luffy’s way to tell “you’re not alone, you have us” just like he said for Vivi back in Alabasta (more detailed thoughts about Luffy puncing his nakamas  here)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then it finally happens, Luffy manages to break Sanji’s walls. He is able to see something he wanted to witness already in front of that castle, a honest side of him. This is another powerful scene because Sanji has now seen more than enough. He has tried to keep his emotions stable meanwhile having a enormous mental breakdown and tried to hide all the “negative” emotions that would show his vunerability. Now he is crying from the bottom of his heart, how he would want to go with them but he simply can’t because he feels bad if he lets them just die, even though his father and brothers have caused nothing but pain.
Tumblr media
One thing I absolutely love in Luffy is his incredibly huge and warm heart. I have a feeling that he sees so much deeper to the core than anyone would expect. If we look at Mugiwara group they all have carried so much burden in their hearts, they have made questionable life choises and even turned their back to their   crew but still, Luffy has never judged them for being what they are and has stayed loyal to them.
Tumblr media
Sanji makes no exception, no matter how hard he hurt his captain he still sees understanding in Sanji’s behavior (his expression in that panel where Sanji burst into tears says more than thousand words). Seeing him going through such a painful situation, not being able to be his true self, backstabbing his friends and even seeing his vunerable side which he never would like to show and what does he do? He comforts Sanji, with such simple words “I like you the way you are” and look at Sanji’s face, how happy he is to hear it, after all the crap he gets finally something he has been looking for ever since Pudding broke his heart,  genuine love and trust.
