No Judgement || Reader x TJD [request]
A/N: I wanted to preface with this, this is a request for a more platonic relationship with reader & TJD. I will be making more of these throughout time, either with the group as an entirety, or a specific person in the group. <33
word count: 1,104
summary: you, a WWE Creative, have spent majority of your day after work, working. Rhea, Dominik, Damian, and Finn see you've been hard at work when they get home. this initiates your group of close knit friends/platonic soulmates to take action and make sure you've taken care of you, no judgement at all.
Tumblr media
All too often, time was never something I had been good at keeping, lost in the words on the page, or on the screen of my laptop, the faint light being the only thing illuminating my face. Sometimes, the quiet click of my keyboard was the only thing to be heard as I would sit there, building the world on paper in a way, instead of building it in my head as I'd read. On other occasions, it was theater and plays, seeing how many expressed themselves through some sort of acting. It was often that I was lost in my own world, spilling everything in my mind onto paper. When you've grown up with the comforts of these things, it sticks and never lets go. Reading, writing and theater was my thing, my outlet. That was why I found myself lucky for loving the arts, setting myself right into a seat on the Creative team.
Tonight was no different. I sat in my office at home, face almost void of expression, the faint light of my laptop illuminating my face, fingers tirelessly typing out scripts and any ideas that I had that could possible work, even in the slightest bit. Hours had to have passed, with a couple bathroom breaks possibly every couple hours or so. As much as the back of my head told me to stop, nothing had really pulled my focus. Even when I heard their footsteps, their talking and laughter. Even when I felt eyes looking at me from where I sat.
If I had been aware of my surroundings, I'd actually hear Rhea, Dom, Damian and Finn's hushed voices talking to each other, discussing on if they'd know if I had eaten, drank anything, or even relaxed. And I would not only learn that Rhea and Dom were leaving to the new Italian restaurant that it wouldn't take long for Rhea and Dom to leave to the new Italian restaurant that we had gone to a few weeks ago, and that they'd be back soon with the most mouthwatering Fettuccine Alfredo, as that had been my absolute favorite. I would also know that they planned to bring my hydro, filled with fresh ice water to make sure I drank. Or even that Damian and Finn were getting snacks from the store for us all, just for a movie night to get my mind off of work.
It all quieted again once they had dispersed, though I didn't exactly know when the talking stopped, it not threatening to cross my mind again anyways. With uncertainty in my mind, I leaned back some in my chair, my eyes looking at the screen. A small scowl slowly paints my face, reading everything over one… two… even three times. How had I gotten this far without really looking at what I wrote? Just to see if I liked it? I huffed, leaning forward and selecting everything. My finger, finding it's place on the "Backspace" button, froze, still hovering over it in just the slightest.
My gaze, finally having broken from the laptop screen, looks over to the hand on my water bottle. I… hadn't brought that in. Had I? Finally fully looking up, I see Rhea, with Dom close behind, standing beside me. The light was on now, and the sun had set. "You lost track of time again, didn't ya?" Was the first thing said to me, only responding back with a simple nod. "And I'm assuming you haven't ate?" This time, shaking my head. Dom takes a couple steps up and around Rhea, a smile forming on his face as he looked at me, showing the box to me.
Many would see little things, like this, from them as possibly concerned significant others/partners. Coupled with homemade meals that may sometimes seem like a lot for packed lunches, pictures of us and the other members of TJD on Insta (or anywhere else really,) that shared how close we were, or even how much Rhea and Dom cared, one may solidify in their own head that we were all three something… that just wasn't it.
Rhea and Dom were simply just platonic. They knew me well, knew how my brain ticked and clicked. What things kept me flowing, and what things didn't. They weren't my romantic partners. In all cases, they fit in my definition of those platonic soulmates, just a little bit above best friends. Day in, day out, they took opportunities to care, and had loved me for me. Just as platonic soulmates/friends did.
Snapping back to reality, smelling the food finally, my eyes lit up. "Is that… Is that from the new place we tried once before, with the good fettuccine alfredo?" Was all that left my lips, Dom grinning wide as he walked over, chewing his gum as usual. 'Yeah, we figured it's been a bit, might as well get it again for you…' He'd respond, handing me the box and a fork.
Rhea, pulling up a spare chair I had in my office, sits next to me, her gaze landing on the screen. "Am I allowed to read this?" She asks, looking at me first, before even thinking of reading further. I nod as I take my first bite, internally smiling. Dom, wanting to read it too, leans forward on Rhea's chair, his chin resting on the top of her head. A few moments of silence, then a surprised look for just a split second. "You were going to delete this? Y/N this is good so far…"
"It is good. But… come take a break. Damian and Finn are gonna be back with snacks and everything. We wanted to all watch a movie. Would be a great time for you to take a break." Dom's grin had returned as his chin raised from the top of Rhea's head to look at me, an excited look in his eyes.
Part of me knew that I couldn't say no either, I needed the break. I had been relentlessly working all day and I could eventually burn myself out. "You're coming to watch the movie, Y/N. You deserve the break." Rhea's voice was stern, yet kind.
What kind people they were. I acted like I was thinking about it, before actually deciding to respond. I criss cross my legs and lean forward as I begin.
"Okay, okay, fine! But on one condition," I still act as if I'm thinking when I speak, before jabbing the air, towards them with my fork. "I get to choose the movie."
"Deal." The two of them said in unison, goofy grins on their faces.

It’s just a bad day... » Tom Felton imagine
Request: yes! @lindsayfosselman93
Word count: 2,037
Pairing: Tom Felton x reader
Note: I just hope you guys will like this. xx
“Hey, Y/N” my coworker called after me, just as I was about to leave my office “A couple of us are heading out to grab a drink or two at Casey’s. Do you want to join us?”
I looked at my phone to check the time. It was a Friday afternoon, and our boss said we could leave an hour earlier than usual, knowing that we had a very though week behind us, and all of us deserved a little rest after all.
“Yeah, sure” I smiled at her and grabbed my bag from my desk “But I’m driving, so no alcohol for me today”
“Alright” she linked her arm with mine and dragged me with her, talking about how hot her new intern was. I liked Beth. She was my mentor when I first started at the PR agency, and helped me with everything I needed. She was very open minded, and loved to ask me about England, and she really enjoyed listening to me, mostly because of my British accent. She found it fascinating “So, how’s your boo?”
I laughed at her nickname for my fiancé. They had met before, and a love-hate friendship was immediately formed between them. Beth hated that I skipped a lot of end of the week pub hopping with them to go home to Tom, but loved to hear everything about our travelling stories and the romantic things he had done just to make me happy. And Tom hated that Beth would show up at our home unannounced, and babbled about her terrible dating life, and how much she already wanted to be married. These occasions usually turned into a sleepover, because she had too much wine, and wasn’t able to drive back home. But at the same time he loved the idea of me having a good friend at work. And I knew, that deep inside, he would have helped her if she needed it.
“He’s working on a new movie, so he is quite busy” I smiled at her and opened my car “He was up pretty late last night just to learn his lines” I frowned at the memory. He came to bed almost at the same time I had to wake up to get ready for work. He looked quite annoyed and even sad. I was thinking about him, hoping he was in a better mood and slept enough. I hated how much he pushed himself sometimes. He wanted his act to be perfect, to give his best to the project he was working on and satisfy not just his fans, but himself as well. He tended to be hard on himself.
The pub was quite crowded when we arrived. We weren’t the only people in Los Angeles, who wanted to kick back a bit at the end of the week. Group of friends were playing billiard or were just chatting over a table with beers and wine glasses in their hands. Here and there were couples, maybe on a date. I smiled at a few familiar faces from either work, or at those who were frequent guests at Casey’s and sometimes joined us for a drinking game or just to chat.
“So guess who’s being a baby and won’t drink today with us?” I rolled my eyes at Beth’s childish behaviour, but I couldn't hide my smile “Nah, just joking. Y/N’s only being a responsible adult here, and is actually driving”
We sat down to our usual table where some of our coworkers were already seated and were sipping on their first drink. I ordered myself a virgin Cosmopolitan and listened to one of our new intern’s story about how one of his professors was caught with his TA. I was sipping on my drink when my phone lit up in front of me. Because of the bad service in the pub, I didn’t get the notifications right away, so I didn’t see Tom’s messages.
“Baby? What time are you coming home?”
“Are you alright? I thought you were coming home earlier..”
“Y/N???”
“Babe, I need you. I’m having a very bad day…”
I quickly texted him back that I was only out with a couple of friends from work but I was just leaving. I was worried. Tom wasn’t the double texting or multiple texting type of guy. He only acted like this, if it was important or he wasn’t feeling well.
“Sorry guys, as much as I love to hang out with you, I really need to leave” I stood up and said my final goodbyes to them, not giving them a chance to ask me about my sudden leave-taking. Before I left to go home, I stopped by a grocery store to buy the ingredients for Tom’s favourite comfort food.
I could see Willow’s cute face at the window when I pulled up to the driveway. She was jumping up and down when she saw me getting out of the car and walking up to the front door. I swear that dog was half a dog, half a kangaroo.
“Love, I’m home” I called for Tom when I stepped in the hall and kicked off my high heels, which were killing my feet all day. I went to the kitchen and put down the grocery bags, before I kneeled down to pat Willow and give her a few kisses “Where’s Daddy? Can you show me?”
“Woof” she probably had no idea what I was asking her, but the fact that she hardly left Tom’s side came to my benefit, because she ran to Tom’s office. I followed her there, and of course he was there. He was laying on his sofa, the script for his new movie on his chest. The wrinkles of the pages told me he was close to tear the whole thing up and throw it away. He was asleep, but the frown from being frustrated was still on his face.
“My love” I sat at the very edge of the sofa and pushed his hair out of his face softly “I’m home” I kissed his forehead and caressed his cheek carefully. I didn’t want to scare him.
“Hey” he murmured and pulled me on to his chest. His hands hold me close and Tom buried his face in my neck. I planted plenty of small kisses into his hair and hold him just as tight “I’m having the worst day of my life”
I laughed at him a bit. He could be a little bit overdramatic, when things weren’t going the way he planned. “Mind telling me why it is such a bad day?”
And he did. He told me that because of the lack of sleep he has been having caused him to wake up with a terrible headache this morning, and no matter how much he tried and practised, it seemed like he couldn’t memorise his lines. And when he finally gave up on learning those, he wanted to interact with his fans, but came across with a lot of hate, which led him to ask himself, if he really was good enough of an actor.
I listened to him. Sinking in every single word that left his mouth, and played with his hair the whole time to keep him calm, and to show him I was now there for him, and was ready to do anything just to make him feel better. He was feeling very down, and it made me sad how his self-esteem shrunk down because of what some mean people and the media was writing about him, without knowing him at all.
“Darling” I said softly “Did you really have a bad day or did you have 20 minutes where you let your thought run undisciplined which led you to a bad vibe that you let carry you away?”
“What do you mean?” He looked at me confused.
“I let you think about this” I kissed his neck softly, which made him laugh a tiny bit. I knew how ticklish his neck was, and loved and hated it at the same time, when I blow on it or kissed it. It was good to hear his laugh. It was so contagious. So to make him laugh again, I started to kiss it rapidly and blow on it, while I caressed the back of his neck with my fingertips to tickle him even more.
“Stop, please” he laughed loudly and tried to push me away “C’mon darling, I’m going to pee myself at the age of 33 if you don’t stop” he begged me but never let go of me. I looked at him and kissed his lips with everything I had. I wanted this man to know how much I loved him. I wanted to show him that no matter what those people out there say about him. They didn’t know who Tom Andew Felton really was. They were cowards, using the power of social media. I pity them. How miserable their life must have been that the only thing that made them feel better or happy was hating on someone they didn’t even know personally?
“I’ll let you to think about what I just said” I stood up from him “Meanwhile you do your homework, I’ll make dinner. Come downstair when you are ready. Alright?”
“I love you” his voice was smooth. I adored how he said those words. They were pure, honest and filled with love and lust. I left him alone. I knew he needed it. He had to go through his whole day in a different point of view. He had to think if it was really worth it. Letting hate and a rough day ruin his good mood. Before I started on dinner, I changed into one of his tie dye hoodies and let my hair out of the ponytail.
Tom came downstair just at the right time. I already sat the table, and was getting the food out of the oven when he came up behind me, and sneaked his arms around my waist, kissing the side of my neck lovingly.
“You made casseroles” I could tell by his voice that he was smiling “It smells delicious” he sniffed into my hair “You smell delicious too” he playfully bit on my shoulder and squeezed my waist.
“Someone’s in a better mood” I sing sang and put the tray down on the table.
“Yeah” he nodded and sat down “Thank you. I really need that to see the whole thing in a different view. Sometimes I tend to let my bad mood to take over my mind and I act unrealistically”
I placed my hand on his and gave him a reassuring smile. During dinner, he told me about how his day was, apart from the bad part. Tom told me how happy he was when Oliver Phelps texted him and asked if he wanted to be on their podcast the next week, and how they already made plans about a golf marathon as soon as it was possible for him to take off a few days from shooting. He even mentioned a few days trip to somewhere nice, just him, Willow and I, because we both had been very busy with our own jobs. He felt like we couldn’t spend enough quality time together, and we really needed it. I just looked at him, and adored the man sitting in front of me. At our dinner table, in our home. All these years together, and it still amazed me, that he chose me to be by his side for the rest of his life. He was honestly the most beautiful man I had ever met and I was more than ready to make him the happiest as possible.
“I really can’t wait for you to put me in my place and treat me just like you did today for the rest of our lives” Tom hugged me from behind when we were getting ready to go to sleep. He played with my ring on my finger and smiled at me throughout the reflection of the mirror on my vanity table “Mrs. Y/N Felton. It still sound perfect to me.”

how to u stucture ur comics? and would it be okay if i studied it?
hiya!! <33 that would be absolutely fine with me, yeah!!
to be fair tho there's is no actual technique or anything involved 😭 i'm too lazy to actively study professional works or read guides lol orz
i'll type up a little bit about my (fairly unstructured) process below tho!! <3
if it's a longer comic i'll first write up a short script! nothing fancy, just dialogue with a few pointers on characters' actions the img below is my script for this comic :-)
Tumblr media
next i sketch out specific moments and try to structure them in a way they'd fit pages of equal size. if it's a shorter comic/i dont write a script i just start with this step lol.
i know there's things to watch out for with panel layout, amount of panels per page, etc but i just go by gut feeling 😭 and even if you're someone who likes to follow tips and guides, always remember to play around, bend rules and just have fun with it!!
there are three things about structuring tho that i do think are helpful and easy to keep in mind!
the same character should stay on the same side of the panel (e.g. during conversations), just makes it easier to follow imo
plan your speech bubbles as a part of the panel!! theyre just as important as characters, action lines, sound effects, backgrounds, etc.! if you neglect them until you've finalized the panel you'll most likely end up with a cluttered panel that's hard to read something i find helpful here is (if you're working digitally) to actually type and position your text before you get started on the linework cant count the times i've positioned my text and noticed that i've left way too little space for the coresponding speech bubble LOL
try to keep panels evenly spaced, the reader's eye can easily be led by how far apart individual panels are! i don't think the below comic is an ideal example LOL but by leaving bigger/smaller spaces between panels you can divide the page into sections. its not always necessary imo but does help with pacing, especially with single page comics
Tumblr media
aaand.. that’s pretty much all the layout work/structuring i do LOL
as for my entire process from script to finished page(s), i actually recorded a timelapse of the first comic i mentioned! a rough breakdown of my steps would be:
write script
sketch out important panels/panels i just really wanna include lol
organize panel sketches in pages
ink panel borders
type/position text
(send to friend for beta reading and hope my english is somewhat comprehensible, edit text)
ink speech bubbles
ink characters
ink backgrounds
hand letter sound effects
block out colors (i usually divide into background, characters and speech bubbles at this point)
figure out color scheme/technique on one page (just a lot of trial and error in my case LOL, trying to see how much/little color i wanna use, which color scheme, if i wanna shade, use screentones, etc.)
color rest of pages
done!
professionals do not perceive me pls thx
i hope this helped somewhat!! if you have any other questions feel free to shoot me a message! 🌼

Pages and pages (a ChanBaek ficlet)
Tumblr media
Chanyeol peered through the gap in a row of books, waiting as he’d done every day for the last month. After a few minutes, he saw him. Somehow he grew more perfect with every passing day, his smiles sweeter, his laughter even more enchanting.  Chanyeol had read his name tag at the counter once while shyly avoiding eye contact, so he knew his name was Baekhyun.
Baekhyun walked through the store, as he did every day after his lunch break, straightening books as he went. He reached the armchair in the corner and picked up the copy of ‘Gone with the Wind’ lying face down on the armrest. He paused, then holding the book spine down, he let it fall open on a page marked with a small square of paper. Chanyeol knew it was page 310. Baekhyun glanced at the paper read the notation written in Chanyeol’s neat upright script.
    Line 33
As Chanyeol watched Baekhyun ran his finger down the page silently counting the lines, then paused reading the one he’d chosen.
“You should be kissed and by someone who knows how.”
The corners of Baekhyun's mouth lifted slightly for just a second before he pursed his lips instead. Chanyeol felt sure he was doing it to try and keep from smiling. He certainly looked pleased, his eyes were shining and the tops of his cheeks had turned a very pale blush pink.
He flipped the piece of paper over and examined it, as always the same phone number was written clearly. But this time Chanyeol had added an extra sentence, which he watched Baekhyun read curiously.
Why don’t you ever call me?
Baekhyun gave a short, quickly stifled laugh and suddenly looked around like he knew he was being watched. Chanyeol ducked and when he got up the nerve to look again Baekhyun was writing the name of the book down on the small piece of paper above where he’d written the line number. Baekhyun never called him, he hadn’t received so much as a text message from him since he started doing this, but he took heart in the fact that Baekhyun didn’t throw the notes away. He always carefully wrote down the name of the book then took the paper to the store’s front counter where he kept them in an envelope. Chanyeol had even seen him looking through them thoughtfully.
But why didn’t he ever call? Chanyeol pulled his cap down low and waited till Baekhyun was serving a customer, then he slipped past the counter and out of the store.
The next day when he reached the armchair to place his chosen book for the day he was surprised to find a book lying there already. He looked around but there was no one in sight. He picked up the book. It a paperback copy of ‘Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close’ and there was a little yellow piece of paper sticking out the top, marking a page.
He slowly opened the book, aware only after his lungs started to protest that he’d been holding his breath. The note read:
   Line 24
He counted the lines, his heartbeat ringing in his ears and almost drowning out his quiet counting. He reached the line 24 and read.
“I hope you never have to think about anything as much as I think about you.”
He read and reread the line, his breath quickening to match the fast beating of his heart. He turned the note over, desperately hoping but not expecting maybe, just maybe Baekhyun would give him his phone number? Instead, there was a short note, which read:
Why don’t you just talk to me instead?
He looked up. Baekhyun was standing at the end of the aisle, watching him silently. He had an air of quiet expectation, of longing. Chanyeol felt that though they had never even spoken before he could read Baekhyun’s expression like a book.
Chanyeol smiled shyly, ran one hand back through his hair nervously shifting his bangs, then held out his hand to Baekhyun.
"Hi, I'm Chanyeol,” he said at last. The silence between them finally broken.
Baekhyun let the smile he’d been suppressing bloom radiantly on his lips and Chanyeol basked in its warmth.
“It’s so nice to finally meet you.”

If you’re a medieval historian, you normally work a lot with manuscripts. A manuscript is just a text written by hand, although manuscripts are distinguished from inscriptions by the material on which they are written: a manuscript is normally written on perishable materials — like calfskin in much of Europe, birch bark in Russia and Central Asia, bamboo and paper in East Asia, and palm leaves in India and Southeast Asia — while an inscription is cut into a stone or metal surface. Manuscripts are usually a lot more informative than inscriptions and also a lot more diverse in content and authorship. In Europe and Northeast Asia there are a lot of medieval manuscripts.
An image from Royal Armouries manuscript I.33, the oldest armed martial arts treatise in the world. It was written in southern Germany in the early fourteenth century, and is thus older than almost any extant Indo-Malaysian manuscript on any topic. This says a lot about the range of sources historians working in each region can expect to use. Full manuscript can be found here (Wiktenauer).
Manuscripts are often illustrated, giving valuable information about life and times not explicitly recorded in writing. Their pages can be dated chemically, giving reasonably precise dates even to texts without written chronograms — although this isn’t necessary with many texts, as close dates can often be established on the basis of the script. If the script looks like a fourteenth-century script, you’re probably looking at a fourteenth-century text (although there’s more to it than that). There are enough texts to allow for this kind of detailed palaeographic analysis in much of Europe and temperate Asia.
The language and script (littera hybrida) of this manuscript tell us that it was written in around the middle of the fifteenth century in the Low Countries. There are tons of manuscripts in littera hybrida; it was practically the national script of the Netherlands in the fifteenth century.
All of this should be reasonably obvious and well-known. Here, though, I want to point out that medieval Afro-Eurasia — let’s leave the Americas aside for the purposes of this article — wasn’t a single temperate environment in which both state and private archives hoarded and preserved large numbers of texts written on organic materials. These kinds of sources just aren’t available for much of the world, whether because writing never developed there or because organic materials don’t last long in certain environments. Naturally, these problems are particularly acute in humid tropical climates.
In much of the tropics, insects, heat, and humidity meant that even if texts were written on palm leaves and animal skins, they had to be deliberately preserved or copied perhaps once in a generation in order to make their way down to us today. This wasn’t the case in England or China; a locked wooden box in a parish church or town hall would be sufficient to keep a piece of parchment safe and few special measures needed to be taken. The medieval historical record is thus inherently biased in favour of societies in temperate climes.
The number of genuinely medieval manuscripts from Southeast Asia can be counted on one hand, even though we know from inscriptions that writing has a long history in the region (dating back to the fourth century and possibly earlier). The oldest extant Malay manuscript has been radiocarbon dated to the fourteenth century, even though the oldest Malay inscriptions date to the seventh century and are thus slightly older than the oldest texts in English. We are consequently reliant on inscriptions for the reconstruction of much of medieval Indo-Malaysian history and society, and on much later (definitively post-medieval) manuscripts for the study of Southeast Asian literature. This gives a particular spin to historical events and restricts what can be studied through traditional philological methods.
“Raja Barus”, ‘the King of Barus’ in a Malay manuscript of 1797, one of the oldest copies of the Hikayat Raja Pasai. The story probably dates to the fourteenth century. Yes: it was written in the late eighteenth century. Yes: it’s a good source for the fourteenth century. That’s how a lot of history in the tropics works. Deal with it.
This presents scholars of the medieval Old World tropics with a bit of a problem. Historians of medieval Europe can freely parade manuscript illustrations in books and, nowadays, on social networks without any qualms because the illustrations they’re showing off are bona fide medieval images. But you can’t do that if the manuscripts didn’t survive, and there are a lot of issues involved in using later manuscripts to demonstrate earlier art and history. How can a complete picture of the Hemispheric Middle Ages be created and shown to the world when Indonesian and tropical African manuscripts are so late and so poorly represented?
Should scholars of the medieval tropics focus on ‘legitimately’ medieval things — bronzes, inscriptions, reliefs — or should they include later images of supposedly earlier phenomena and risk collapsing the entire history of e.g. Indonesia into one undivided whole?
In museums you tend to find the latter approach. In the Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam, the oldest keris in the world (made, or at least inscribed, in 1342 CE) is in the same case as a piece of nineteenth-century Muslim headgear. Colonial-era dress and artworks rub shoulders with tenth-century bronzes and thirteenth-century statues. I find that problematic; you wouldn’t put a medieval English sword and a Regency-era lady’s bonnet in the same display, I shouldn’t think. Europe and Indonesia are thus treated differently: Europe’s history is divided into sections that are studied more or less independently while Asian history, and especially tropical Asian history, is treated as one inseparable whole, divided more by region than by period. This is one reason among many why Southeast Asia may never be integrated into the academic study of the medieval world (let alone the popular imagination about the Middle Ages).
And what about eastern Indonesia and New Guinea? Neither part produced any written literature, as far as we know, before the fifteenth century, and the oldest manuscripts from eastern Indonesia date to the early sixteenth century. New Guinea was part of the medieval world; it was certainly known to people in fourteenth- and fifteenth-century Java and other parts of Indonesia. But what can we show the world to represent this medieval Papuan history? There aren’t any manuscripts. There aren’t even any sculptures or very many bronze objects (although some of the latter are occasionally found). That doesn’t mean New Guinea just vanished from the world in the Middle Ages or that the people there preserved some primordial ‘Stone Age’ lifeways, though, as the popular imagination seems to have it.
Art in New Guinea, whether on the coasts or in the highlands, is dominated by wooden sculpture. While plenty of carved wooden objects survive from temperate medieval Eurasia, no examples of the wooden sculpture of medieval New Guinea have come down to us. Can we assume that modern sculpture is representative of earlier tradition?
That seems like a big leap to me. New Guinea isn’t a primeval place unchanged since the dawn of time but rather a place full of creative human beings, a place where fashion and religion operate like they do anywhere else. Showing a Papuan carving made in the twentieth century by a specific artist from a particular ethnic group as if it were representative of a prehistoric or medieval tradition would ultimately be as peculiar as using David Hockney’s oeuvre to showcase medieval English painting. Style always changes. Where truly medieval eastern Indonesian art has survived, as with a few of the lovely textiles preserved as heirlooms in Timor, the motifs are strikingly different from modern ones.
If we want to raise awareness of the tropical world, then, how do we go about it? How can scholars working on Europe get to know island Southeast Asia and the Swahili coast without introducing an orientalist bias that treats the Middle Ages as identical to modern times, or to some arbitrary ‘traditional’ point in the past? It’s a real conundrum. I suspect, though, that the solution is to help expand the traditional medievalist’s view of what constitutes valid evidence about the medieval world — and perhaps to highlight the ways in which the temperate world diverges from the tropics.
Does the absence of a written or artistic or sculptural record exclude a place from consideration as part of the ‘Global Middle Ages’? Yes — if you restrict yourself to the methods and ideas of traditional medieval scholarship. But if the objective is to account for and better understand the world before the Columbian Exchange, methods simply have to be broadened: the triangulation of archaeology, comparative ethnography, historical linguistics, oral history, and ethnohistory has to be brought in to complement traditional philological scholarship. If that isn’t done then our image of the medieval world will always be restricted to what was written down and preserved, and that naturally introduces a bias towards the temperate — and perhaps also to the European, the white, and the colonial.
This article first appeared as a post on the Medieval Indonesia blog, and a version of its argument has appeared in print in Bryan C. Keene (ed.), 2019,Toward a Global Middle Ages, Los Angeles: The J. Paul Getty Museum.

Thumbnail Blaster Review and Bonus
Welcome to my Thumbnail Blaster Review and Demo YouTube first became popular because an online platform for musicians to generate the name for themselves and obtaining more views was, and still will be, the ultimate goal intended for online video media content creators. In older days, people would use misleading title, tags, and thumbnails to a great extent to get more views and now nights Google and yahoo has won typically the war on spam by adding brand-new voice and image reputation technology to find an idea involving what exactly a video is approximately when compared with what the content material creator says in the title, tags, and even outline. This helps to give individuals with a much greater customer experience when looking a little something up on YouTube. Online video media content creators are today up against having to in fact make quality movies that people will take pleasure in and to get more views, it should be seen by enough visitors to find the appropriate customer who will upload this on his internet site, or at least share the idea on Facebook. Rightfully therefore, Google's top main concern can be user experience over this content provider's view matter, however some authorities say the new changes in order to often the algorithm will trigger old video tutorials, that persons have already seen, get more attention than new versions and could actually produce it complicated for the user to find fresh new content in search outcomes to get popular search terms. So, how could a video content creator in 2011 fights impotence the latest changes to be able to often the YouTube Algorithm? Produce Movies Like Never Before Create a Following Comment Your own personal Way for the Top Off of Site Seo Know This Difference Involving Junk mail And even Optimization Create Video tutorials Much like Never Prior to With YouTube's 92 Billion web site ideas a month together with soaring, a video clip has to be one of a kind for it to have popularity. Planning a movie and server scripting are now a must along having display quality. By comparing the videos with millions connected with views into the lesser regarding the tribes, you will observe the fact that high definition and exceptional lighting are two popular traits shared by this best viewed videos. This specific doesn't lead to you have got to get an pricey HD camera to get more views. Youtube . com offers a set of formatting tags, again to aid provide a a great deal better customer experience. yt: crop=16: in search of yt: stretch=16: 9 yt: quality=high Use these types of labels to eliminate window boxing and poor video quality if you do not have access to HIGH-DEFINITION equipment. Pay attention to be able to your video's thumbnail choices careful not to be flagged for spam. "OMG" deals with are well-known thumbnail selections just so long as it can be what will be within the video. The. 25. four plus. 75 points in your online video media used in order to be what determined your own thumbnail selections when adding. With so much mistreatment, Google came up having the bright strategy for you to use the three best movies from your online video and semi-randomly picking a point through the three period of time points. Audio and picture root report names are also added into the picture to better give right thumbnail selections. Spammers can no longer just add a short graphic flash at the particular halfway level of their very own videos to get a great deal more opinions. Build a Pursuing As with Twitter, Forums, and MySpace, Facebook is normally also a social networking system. Being mixed up in community is definitely a must for fresh plus old video content material creators looking to come to be popular on YouTube. Build your channel around a exclusive market that has a new mid-sized level of competitors. Visit similar channels and even comment on their video clips together with sincere compliments or maybe questions. Treat your subscriber's movies the same approach so you are not really to be a dormant range in their ongoing give. The old SUB4SUB approach is still being used and has grown straight into its own community or perhaps niche. If your visitors will be teenagers, go regarding it! Be careful definitely not to be called out to be a spammer because this idea of, "You subscribe to me and I actually may subscribe to you" is often frowned upon by people of a professional background. YouTube picks upward on heavily repeated responses and even auto-marks them as junk mail so just apply a SUB4SUB profile picture and be participating in the SUB4SUB channels inside Vimeo community. Set aside some sort of day to work on building some sort of following about other social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, in addition to Facebook or myspace. This stretches your own personal right away to those who have no a good channel on Dailymotion which in turn surprisingly enough tends to make up for a lot of the home page's 92 billion readers each month. Comment Your Way For the Top Uploading a good video twice a week and commenting on the readers video clips and programmes often the working day before is a superb tip of thumb. Being consistent from doing so is definitely the work section of the whole entire issue. However, by doing this you brand yourself using your readers and build a awareness among them which starts the particular snowball effect associated with even more landscapes and even subscribers when they think and share your movies. This is the reason you want for you to stay within your specific niche market. When leaving comments, become sincere about what an individual sort. Never just point out 2 words and abandon. This particular totally defeats the particular purpose which is not necessarily heading to make people need to know who also left said brief review. Leave comments people need on their videos and share this comment on Facebook and Facebook to help make it show up as a "linked comment" on top of often the brief review feed. Each moment a good fans from Facebook or myspace or Twits clicks in this, the comment is certainly moved back in the top of the comment nourish. Be creative in your current comments and it can get thumbed upwards also gaining more and even more interest towards the author of mentioned comment. Often the ultimate goal here is to compliment the online video user's work which companies your own personal username and station so that when your videos show up in their subscription give food to, it will probably be hard to resist. Off Web-site Optimization The following is more "work" of which has to be done in order to move your videos to typically the top of search success. When people are searching for a person, it is best to be able to be easy to find. Just making use of a lot of tag words individuals are searching for just isn't going to trim this cake. Google wants to find out back links on well-liked sites leading to your video to compliment your states of everything you have since your title. When a well-liked site has a connect to your video using the particular terms in your subject, it gives PUBLIC RELATIONS points for that phrase following a certain amount of time. However, in case you go all-around posting unrelated hyperlinks, chances are the idea will end up being taken out and wouldn't count like a new back web page link anyway with the time aspect threshold. Upload your online video to other websites relevant to your niche along with participate in forum talks and post your online video like some sort of hyperlink any time it is relevant to the particular discussion. You have in order to keeping it related and that has to add value to the debate. If your links get taken off, the idea will have a change effect on your search results positioning so always be sure and respect the terms and conditions connected with forums that allow back links to videos and internet sites. Know The Variation Between Spam And Search engine optimization The fine line involving spam and optimization is crucial to breaking through typically the mass amounts of video lessons on YouTube if folks interested in your product will likely even know this is present. In case you are Fred, and your personal route (Lucas) says your age is 33, it is highly not likely you will obtain called out for lying about your age when you created your. If you are like many various other Facebook celebrities and your current information abounds with advertising your own personal social networks in addition to T-shirt sales instead of conveying the video, you may not get named out there either. However, chances are you are usually certainly not a Dailymotion celeb and if you adhere to suit, it is just a new matter of time before you are suspended via the site. When selecting a title for your video, you should be creative and employ words and phrases that are intending to get results by search engines at the similar time. Decide on a search expression you wish to be found simply by (that best details the video) and use the idea in your title. Yahoo and google like wide variety so give a few support words to your phrase. For example: Goal phrase: Remote Control Yard Mower A good title will be: Remote Control Grass Mower vs. Steep Hillsides Write a brief information using the target phrase only once towards top yet not really as the first sentence. Be organic and discuss to your viewers. Typically the tags for the online video media should be specific to your own personal target saying with plus without quotations. To illustrate: "remote control yard mower" out of the way control grass mower. Following a thirty days of positive viewers allergic reactions, you will notice your online video media climbing often the charts. With thumbnail blaster review to competitive key phrases, your movie has for you to generate lots of beneficial viewer reaction before it is going to show up on leading of listings and at some point on Google as some sort of online video result. Patients, difficult work, and consistency can be a must. You should publish videos on a regular basis most with a little bit different targeted phrases related to your niche market. It is a lot regarding work. Nevertheless , when a person get your first video clip up to a thousand views, you will be hooked about YouTube, wearing Dailymotion Tshirts, and even making courses to help others.

Build a Pursuing As with Facebook, Twits, and MySpace, Dailymotion is certainly also a social networking. Being mixed up in community can be a must for fresh plus old video information builders looking to come to be popular on YouTube. Create your channel around a individual specific niche market that has the mid-sized level of rivals. Visit similar channels plus comment on their video lessons with sincere compliments or maybe inquiries. Treat your subscriber's video clips the same approach so you are definitely not to work as a dormant number in their request foodstuff. The old SUB4SUB approach is still being utilized and has developed in its own community or maybe niche. If your target audience is usually teenagers, go intended for it! Be careful not to be called out there as being a spammer because the idea of, "You join to me and I may subscribe to you" is often frowned upon by means of people of a qualified background. YouTube picks upwards about heavily repeated responses plus auto-marks them as junk mail so just apply a SUB4SUB profile impression and be participating in often the SUB4SUB channels inside the Vimeo community. Set aside a new day to work upon building a good following in other online communities such while Facebook, Twitter, plus Bebo. This extends your current using to those who don't have the channel on Facebook which will surprisingly enough can make up for the majority of the web site's 92 billion visitors every month. Comment Your Approach On the Top Uploading a good video double a week and strategies on the readers video lessons and stations the particular day before is a wonderful principle of thumb. Being constant in doing so will be the work section of the full thing. However, in this way an individual brand yourself with the members and build a curiosity among them which commences the snowball effect involving even more sights in addition to subscribers when they brief review and share your videos. This is why you want for you to stay within your specific niche market. When leaving comments, possibly be sincere about what anyone sort. Never just state two words and abandon. That totally defeats this purpose which is definitely not proceeding to make people would like to know that left said review. Leave comments people need on their videos plus share typically the comment with Facebook and Myspace for you to make it show right up as a "linked comment" on top of the particular review feed. Each period a fans from Facebook or even Tweets clicks with the idea, typically the comment is normally moved back to the best of the comment supply. Be creative in your current feedback and it could get thumbed right up as well gaining more and even more attention towards the article writer of explained comment. The ultimate goal here is to compliment the video user's work which brands your own personal username and route so when your video clips appear in their subscription feed, it will be hard to withstand. Off Web page Optimization In this article is more "work" that has to be carried out in order to move your videos to this major of search success. When people are looking for anyone, it is best in order to be readily accessible. Just using a lot of tags consumers are searching for basically going to slash the particular cake. Google wants to find out back links on famous web pages leading to the online video to support your claims of whatever you have as your title. If a well-liked website has a url to your video using the particular words in your headline, it gives ADVERTISING things for that phrase after the certain amount of time period. However, if you go around posting not related back links, odds are that will always be taken away and wouldn't depend as a new back url anyway due to the time aspect threshold. Add your video to other web-sites connected to your niche along with participate in forum chats and even post your movie like some sort of hyperlink when it is in connection with this discussion. You have to keeping it related and the idea has to add value in order to the conversation. If the links get eliminated, it will have a change effect on your search results position so always be sure and respect the particular terms and conditions connected with forums of which allow backlinks to video clips and net sites. Know The Change Between Spam And Optimisation The fine line concerning spam and optimization is important to breaking through the bulk amounts of video clips on YouTube if folks interested in your materials are likely to even know this prevails. For anyone who is Fred, in addition to your personal route (Lucas) says your age is usually 33, it is very impossible you will acquire called out for lying about your age when anyone created your account. If a person are like many different Youtube . com celebrities and your information abounds with advertising the social networks together with T-shirt sales instead of conveying the video, you may possibly not get called out either. However, chances are you happen to be not necessarily a YouTube movie star and if you follow suit, it is solely a new couple of time just before you are forbidden coming from the site. When choosing a title for your movie, you should be creative and make use of terms that are intending to get results via search engines like yahoo at the exact same time. Decide on a search word you wish to be found by (that best identifies your video) and use the idea in your title. Yahoo and google like variety so give a few support words to your phrase. For example: Concentrate on term: Remote Control Garden Mower A great title would be: Remote Control Lawn Mower vs. Steep Inclines Write a brief explanation making use of the target phrase only once for the top nonetheless not necessarily because the first sentence. Be organic and discuss to your viewers. The tags for the online video should be specific to your own target key phrase with plus without quotations. For competitive terms, your online video has to produce lots of good viewer reaction before it is going to show up on best of search engine results and eventually on Google as a new movie result. Patients, really hard work, plus reliability are a must. thumbnail blaster need to publish videos on a typical basis all with a little bit different target phrases relating to your niche market. The idea is a lot regarding work. Yet , when an individual get your first online video media up to a thousand views, you may be hooked on YouTube, wearing Youtube . com Tees, and even making guides to help others.

While all the girls must dedicate themselves to these very important preparations, one of them also had something else to be worried about. It’s June 5th, the day before their photo shoot, when Minji receives the news through her manager, Yeunhye, that the main role for the webdrama ‘Game Developing Girls’ is hers. The scripts sent for her to learn were sent on the day after and got to the girl’s hands once she returned to the dorm.
On June 8th, only a few days later, Minji will go to a small gathering party with the producers and co-stars for her to get to know them. She was reminded that the plans for Eclipse’s comeback have not yet been revealed and should be kept as a secret for the time being. She’ll officially meet them again for script reading before they’re able to start with recordings. These will take place in two different days, on June 13th and June 14th to not only make sure they’re ready to deliver their lines but also to check on their chemistry.
The webdrama will consist of 11 episodes ranging from 5 to 8 minutes in length. Due to this, the recording won’t take as long as it would for a bigger project. Recordings will start on a Monday, the 17th, and go until the 28th, taking a day break on Sunday, the 23rd. They’ll be recording around an episode a day with proper breaks for the cast and crew. The day of the release will be announced later on, aiming for the end of July.
A comeback is never complete simply by having your songs and music video on the ready, though. To promote their next release, the members of Eclipse will all go for the recording of two different variety shows. On June 19th, five members (excluding Minji who will be busy with recordings) will take part in the filming of ‘Knowing Brothers’ inspired by Episode 21 which can be seen here. Following the theme of the show and episode, the group will announce their transfer to the school since they excelled in the made-up ‘KT Middle School’ and skipped years to reach the Brother high school. Each member will have to come up with what they excelled in, as well as show off their chosen talent, as can be seen in the reference video. Following the progress of the show, they’ll also have to come up with questions about themselves that the cast will have to guess the answers to, as well as take part in the other segments and skits shown. This episode will air on July 6th, before their comeback. On July 1st, all six members of Eclipse will record an episode of ‘Weekly Idol’ as inspired by the one seen here. This episode will air on July 17th, after their comeback date.
The date of their comeback has been set for July 10th.
These, however, were not the only news the girls received on this activity-packed month. As announced on the previous month, KT Entertainment will be holding their KT World Concert in Tokyo this year on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th of August, and Eclipse will be one of the acts attending. For now, the girls are simply instructed to keep their title songs in check and any further instructions will come in the future.
You will gain +5 POINTS TO DISTRIBUTE AS YOU WISH, +3 DEBUT POINTS and +2 ACHIEVEMENTS for completing the written requirements as explained on the idol tier page. As this is not a promotional month, you may choose any two achievements for the month’s points. There is a capped maximum of five solos, sets of starters and/or partnered threads you may write for to collect this month’s points.

Blood [Tom Holland Oneshot]
Pairing: Tom Holland x Female Reader
Word Count: 1,817
Warnings: Fluffy fluff, mentions of blood, someone getting seriously hurt, maybe cursing? I can’t remember.
Anon requested this prompt for my 1.5k Celebration: Could you please write a tom x reader that they are filming 'spiderman homecoming' together and he ends up accidentaly hurting her very serious and there's a lot of blood and maybe she fainting in the set?
Hope it’s what you wanted. Let me know what you think! You guys have no idea how hard it is for me to write an action scene, so bear with me. I tried my best. But my requests are open, if anyone would like a oneshot, imagine or blurb!
Candice’s 1.5k Celebration
The sun was rising, as I pull onto the set of “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” I rub the sleep from my eyes, trying to wake myself up a bit because I knew it was going to be a really busy day with stunts. I take a swig of my large Starbucks, hoping it would magically calm my nerves. It was just cool enough to drink, the coffee burning my throat a little on the way down. I was extremely nervous, my stomach doing flips, adrenaline pumping through my veins. It wasn’t like I had never done stunts before but it was always different when other people were involved. Especially since that person was not only Peter’s love interest in the movie, but she was also my love interest. I pull my script out of my bag, scanning it for the thousandth time, checking over everything. It was the day we were filming Peter Parker saving his love interest’s life from a collapsing building. Y/N was offered to have her stunt double perform it, but she wants to be involved in as much as she could be. She was brave, I’ll give her that.
I scan the parking lot to see who was here already. I swallowed hard, noticing Y/N’s car just adjacent to mine. She must have pulled up when I was distracted by my reading. I could see her script in her lap, pink and yellow highlighter streaking the pages. Her mouth and hands moving, not noticing me watching her. I take a deep breath, opening my door. I sneak over to her car, tapping on her window. She jumps, I notice some red spreading across her cheeks. I laugh at how adorable she is, as she opens her door.
“Well, good morning. Are we a bit jumpy, today?” I ask, shit-eating grin on my face.
“You ass. You already know I’m nervous about today.” She huffs. She grabs her purse out of the passenger seat, and slides out. Her eyes glow, looking at me. It was amazing at how beautiful she was without makeup. Not many girls could pull off the no-makeup thing as well as she does.
“Why ever would you be nervous about today?” I ask nonchalantly, leaning against her car, crossing my arms. Her face drops and she rolls her eyes.
“I wonder!” she says, sticking her open script in my face. “Let’s go get this day over with. I want to get scene 23-33 done, today.” she throws her purse over her shoulder.
“That’s a pretty tall order. It might run into tomorrow.” We start walking toward our trailers, her hair blowing in the morning breeze. We stop and face each other.
“Not if we’re actually serious about it, unlike you Mr. Blooper.” she pokes my chest hard. I flinch, grabbing my chest.
 “Owww…hey now. That hurt!”
“Save the dramatics for filming, you wuss.” she lets out a breathy laugh.
“You’re so mean. I think I’m bleeding.” She stops dead in her tracks.
“Oh God, I hope not. Just the sight of blood makes me woozy.” I look at her in disbelief.
“You do know it comes with performing your own stunts, right?”
“Nothing has happened, yet.” she shrugs.
“It’s going to be a long day. I’ll make sure the medics are on stand-by just in case.” biting my lip, struggling to hold back my smile. She rolls her eyes.
“Just go to your trailer and get ready.” she says, evebrows furrowing, smiling. I sigh, watching her walk away, my eyes falling to her bum. I didn’t mean to be a perv but I could swear she was doing it on purpose. I shake my head, and walk into my trailer.
I hid my nervousness well, but my heart races in anticipation. Especially when I watch Y/N walk out of her trailer, her clothes torn for the scene. I was in my Spiderman costume, keeping the suffocating mask off until the scene began.
“Okay, attention people. Today, we will be performing one of the most dangerous stunts in the whole movie. Please do your exercises to warm-up. The last thing we need today is getting hurt or pull a muscle.” I look over to Y/N and her breathing was irregular. She catches me staring, her expression immediately softening. “We will be doing scenes 23-30, today. 27-30 will consist of Spiderman swinging in and saving Y/N’s character from the crumbling building. You two come with me, and we will get you tethered.” She hesitantly walks over to the director, I follow suit, she smiles as I get closer to her.
“You ready to do this, Tom? Because I’m not.” I slide the mask over my face, grinning at her before slipping it over my head.
“Who’s Tom? I’m Spiderman.” I leave my mouth and nose uncovered. She lets out a giggle, facepalming at my attempt at humor. I was actually attempting to calm both of our nerves: Her smile calms me down and my humor calms her. We start walking to the studio to get the hardest part out of the way, first.
“Listen, I’ve been meaning to ask you--” she starts but hesitates. “Would you like to go to dinner with me tonight, if you’re not too busy?” My breath caught in my throat at her question. She looks down at her feet, as we’re walking to the set. The director looks at me out of the corner of his eye, grinning wide.
“Uhh--” I clear my throat, realizing I look like a total idiot with my mask half on. “--Yeah of course. Yes.” I stammer. Her head shoots up to me, eyes gleaming. Even through this uncomfortable mask I could still see how beautiful she is. I couldn’t believe it.
“Well, since you two have inspiration to get through this day in one piece and quickly, let’s get this started.” The director laughs. “In this scene, Y/N will be lying on the ground, on her back, unconscious. As she wakes up, she realizes the office building is crumbling above her; Spiderman swoops in from the side, and gets her out of the way just in time, gliding just over the surface of the pavement.” The director demonstrates with a series of drawings. “The dangerous part of this is being so low to the ground, with rough debris on the ground. Not only that, but if the cue is missed and Tom swoops in too hard it could sent Y/N sliding across the floor into the wall. We have cushions against the wall but hitting it at a high speed will hurt terribly.”
“Oh--is that all?” Y/N laughs, her eyebrows raising.
“It’s not too late to have your stunt double do this.” I reassure her. She immediately shakes her head ‘no.’
“I want to do this.” she says confidently. “Let’s get this over with.”
“Okay, let’s get set up!” the director smiles. The crew teathers me up and raises me about 30 feet into the air, to the top of a “building.” Y/N looks up at me, waving, as she was getting her makeup done. She seems pretty calm for a dangerous stunt like this. Although, her asking me to dinner earlier in front of an audience was a pretty gutsy move. She definitely was a brave one and I admired that about her. Bravery would take her far in this business.
“Quiet on the set!” assistants screamed. “Everyone get ready for your cue!”
 “And…ACTION!”
Y/N’s character slowly woke from her unconscious state, looking around at the falling objects around her, speaking her lines flawlessly. She suddenly looks up as a crumbling piece of the roof falls toward her, and she screams. That was my cue to jump but I had forgotten to pull my mask the rest of the way down. I yanked the mask down and jumped toward her, missing the cue by a whopping 3 seconds. Not to mention, I jumped with too much force. I knew from the second I jumped that I would regret it. I swing toward Y/N, holding my arms out to catch her. Instead, our greatest fears were brought to life. We collided, sending Y/N sliding across the floor. She violently rolled over the debris and hit the wall with enough force for the collision to echo through the whole building. I unbuckled myself, as everyone immediately ran to see if she was okay. Miraculously, she stands up, using the wall to steady herself.
“Y/N! Are you okay?!” I scream. She turns to face me, her nose is bloody and a few cuts were visible on her arms. Some were bleeding and some were minor. She held her side, trying to catch her breath. As I reach her, she wipes her nose with the back of her hand. When she sees the blood, she looks up at me and her head goes limp, her legs give out from underneath her. I immediately remember her telling me earlier about how she was sensitive to the sight of blood. I catch her just before she hits the ground and I cradle her in my arms. “Y/N, darling. Can you hear me?” I say, tearing the mask off. The crew runs up to us, handing me a cool, wet wash cloth. I gently start wiping the blood away from her nose, being careful as to not cause her anymore pain than I already have. Her eyes flutter open, her mouth open, breathing raggedly.
“So you miss your cue by a few seconds, but you happen to catch me before I faint from seeing blood?” she asks, smiling through the pain. She grabs her side where our bodies collided, wincing in pain. “You’re unbelieveable.” She was able to crack a joke, no matter what the situation was.
“I know I am.” I gently tuck a loose strand of her hair behind her. “Does this ruin my chances of that date we’re supposed to go on, tonight?” She bursts out laughing.
“Like I said, Tom. You’re unbelieveable!”
