Day 2: What if Ash Didn't Steal Misty's Bike?

Since I drew them dancing last year, I decided to switch the theme for Day 2 to a What If scenario. Honestly, it was pretty easy in concept as we know how much Misty immediately cared for Pikachu's wellbeing while giving Ash all the scolding he (more or less) deserved.

I imagine the conversation here is going something like:

Misty: "What in the world did you do to piss off all those Spearow?!"

Ash: "It's a long story! Let's just focus on getting away from them, alright??"

Misty: "Well, whatever you did, I hope you learned your lesson!"

Ash: "Yeah, yeah, I know!"

Things that could’ve fixed the awkward Eric/Rachel/Nick drama in House of Ashes imo:

The love triangle is omitted entirely and the fandom is left to ship as it pleases

They have the conversation before the briefing and that’s that

They try to have the conversation in the Star Cave and get shamed into dropping it for the time being by Jason and Salim

(Alternately, Jason steps in Murray Bauman-style and insists they get their shit together before they drive him insane)

There’s no big conversation at all, just a little tension from knowing there’s a problem but they’re professional and save that for post-game

All three have multiple chances to bond Jalim-style depending on dialogue options and QTEs, possibly resulting in them behaving more like a polycule by the end

Rachel straight-up kisses Clarice in front of Nick and Eric after they make it to the “safety” of the temple

#they could’ve also given rachel the option to flirt with jason just to fuck with nick and eric #not with salim cuz i doubt she’d be comfortable with that so soon but she and jason definitely have the rapport #less tired ya novel bullshit more mature adults and/or shenanigans please #house of ashes #eric king #rachel king #nick kay #jason kolchek #salim othman #clarice stokes #kingkay #crap what’s the ship name for eric/rachel #king^2?#royal couple?#idk what rachel/clarice is either so just pretend their tag’s there too

i saw a video earlier of someone saying happy endings feel wrong to them and respectfully i don't know what the fuck they're on about. happy endings are the most powerful thing fiction can do as far as i'm concerned. so often the real world ends up going in miserable directions so being reminded that yes, good things can happen too is way more powerful for me

Rambling under the cut! Important tl;dr though these guys are adults here, I'm not being creepy I promise

This ship was my darling since I was 13-14 years old! Safe to say, I always thought these characters were much older than me. Kids saving the world was so dumb to me even when I was a kid - can you tell I never played as Grey? (Still love that kiddo though lol). I've always assumed Ashe was at least in her early twenties and Prometheus had some sort of 20-for-200 years Edward Cullen crap going on - hence why jamming them into the Twilight universe for Fluorescence felt like a natural fit to me. I think it's a pretty normal approach many of us take, but I felt the need to clarify in case anyone thinks I've got something creepy going on.

Anyway, I love Prometheus being crazy and intimidating as much as anyone, but it amuses me greatly to think he could also be a little pathetic and embarrassing, as a treat. Ashe's got enough ego to jump at the chance to be someone's knight in shining armor, and maybe Prometheus is secretly juuuuust babygirl enough to let her do it...listen if I can't be silly with them what is even the point okay

I literally just opened youtube and the first video I saw was "Ten reasons why I hate Serena" 🤨 Like firstly why would you even recommend that to me youtube??
