I revisited my ocs today and refined their designs a little. I've been redesigning these over and over since the last 4 years. Not quite there yet and maybe I will never be completely happy with them but they have come a long way.

I always forget how fun it is to paint space! Astrophel here is basically a living nebula, and I've never drawn him as such (I've done humanoid projections, but never actually explored this idea where he's more than a hallucinatory avatar). I couldn't not write a little scene to go with this, so read a short, fun little snippet under the cut!

As the ship helplessly drifts into the gravity well of the collapsing star, the captain and crew hold each other. Crying out goodbyes as the plating of the hull begins to singe: heat and radiation finally breaching the shields. Until suddenly, the relentless pull of the star ceases, as if it were gone. The ship lurches to a complete halt, leaving every crew member breathless and confounded in their expectation of death. 

“Oh my stars: brand new space explorers! I’m so glad I, uh, happened to be in the neighborhood. Can’t let this little incident stop you short of the stars,” the voice is everywhere at once, but comes from no one. The tones are ethereal and smooth as velvet, suggesting peace but giving unease as it somehow consumes all other sound to clearly resound in each crew person’s brain. 

The bridge crew sits awestruck as the fiery storm ahead of them suddenly disappears into a haze of green dust, and as if by magic, the ship materializes well outside the clutches of the powerful gravity well which nearly crushed them all into fiery oblivion. The captain’s cat-like ears bristle as they take a fiery jaunt around the bridge, searching for some source of this bizarre trickery on hundreds of monitors and feeds while the crew struggle to collect themselves. Some machinery is fried, the rest babbles garbled data which doesn't make a lick of sense. Where is the ship, the satellite, anything? They're in some cloud of unidentifiable substance drifting through space, full of strange, fluctuating energy signatures that baffle the sensors.

“SHOW YOURSELF!” The captain demands. 

“My, aren’t we brave? Giving orders to an extraterrestrial who is, well, a lot taller than you, and can project thoughts directly into your little brain is a bold move captain.” 

The furry creature’s jaw drops at the banter. Flustered, they resume their captainly facade with a huff. “Where is your ship? Where are you? And what is this nonsense?” 

“Peek-a-boo!” The voice prods with a mirthful tone, giggling at the captain’s serious insistence. 

The entire bridge crew is slammed dumbstruck at the sight that emerges from the darkness of space. The dust parts into what is the most massive eyeball any crew member has ever laid eyes on: big as the entire bridge and playfully glancing through the heavy composite view port right in front of the captain’s now stock stiff form. It's a gorgeous verdant green that glows softly, casting the bridge in otherworldly luminescence. Every crew member’s jaw is agape, and their rapidly beating hearts feel like they’ve sunken to their stomachs. In an incongruously smooth and gentle motion, the eye recedes to reveal an entire massive face, apparently made of celestial stone that softly glitters in the light from the now distant star. They’re literally in the hands of this creature: held up like tiny a toy and completely helpless. The glittering face shifts into a disgruntled expression. 

“Come now, you don’t get to be afraid after I saved you from certain doom. If I wanted you all hurt I’d have just left you to your own devices, that star could have chewed you up perfectly well if I hadn’t intervened,” the massive creature teases, it's mouth not moving at all as it speaks.

The crew loosens up ever so slightly until the massive face cracks into a playful grin, revealing astronomically large teeth like the beak of a squid. Imposing towers of stone that could pierce the hull as though it were made of bread. The sinking of dread is overturned abruptly as a soft tickle of euphoria wraps around each crew member’s consciousness. Not enough to challenge their lucidity, but calming their nerves like the beginning of an alcohol fueled buzz. 

“Gracious, I’m the first new life form you all have met if all your projected thoughts aren’t confused. Let’s skip the frightfulness, it makes me feel ill. I will make you feel better so we can have a pleasant chat,” The creature gives a playful wink. “I am Astrophel. Promise I won’t tell anyone about your little debacle, and you can test your instruments on me if you’d like! You can relax now, you’re out of harm's way. I’ll keep you safe until you’ve done necessary repairs and can get back on your way. We’ll be fast friends, and that’s exactly how I like it!”

Levi is definitely calling you two 'normies' under his breath as he passes by you both

He feels super happy and you can see that familiar smile forming on his face when you tell him that

He felt his heart melt at your words and is definitely blushing a bit too

Will pull you into a big bear hug and wrap his wings around you

Expect him lean down to your level and kiss your forehead lovingly too

Lucifer is definitely glaring daggers at you

Page one: A three panel comic of Astrophel and Wren as children. Both of them have white hair, pale skin, and shackles on their necks and limbs. The first panel shows Astrophel talking excitedly at Wren. He says, "oh! oh! today, they told me about birds!" In the second panel he says, "and if we're lucky we might see them one day!" He is sprawled wildly, with one of his feet in Wren's lap, and the other on her jaw. Wren has her eyes closed still, and is sitting cross-legged with her only arm in her lap. Astro is saying, "like … fire powers!!" The next panel is a close up of Astro's hands and Wren's face from the side. Wren is cast in light from the fading fire on Astrophel's hands, which is smaller than it was before. Wren is looking forward and saying, "that's a stupid name, 0-8." The final panel is a close up of Astrophel. He is cast in shadow from the small fire and is looking away with a frustrated expression. The text bubbles on the panel read "…" and "0-1?"

Just wanted to do a silly doodle of Astrophel interacting with more space crews.

He's an interstellar researcher of sorts, and it's supposed to be his job among the 7 beings like him to study platonic bonds between different species and how their dynamics unfold in any and all situations. Most species really don't love just being watched by a massive sentient dust cloud who is analyzing THEM, so Astrophel plays the fool and asks these tiny species teach him about all sorts of things he doesn't care about, like mechanical engineering and repair. That's not the part he's paying attention to at all, but they'll be none the wiser! If they are, there's not many space crews who would call his bluff. Once they get comfortable with him hanging around, he's basically a free space taxi and protection from the threats of deep space while he's researching, and most don't take that for granted.

"Levi! Are you done getting ready? Lucifer's gonna be mad if you're any late you know." You told him, standing outside his door as you heard shuffling from inside before the door opened to reveal Levi in his uniform.

"Sorry. I got a little carried away with my thoughts." He said apologizing as you sighed but smiled in the end.

"It's okay." You said, standing on your toes and giving him a small kiss on the cheek before fixing his untied tie, which made him blush at the small gesture.

"Come on before Beel eats your breakfast." You told him as he sighed.

"Now I feel like Mammon who I always had to wake up for RAD and warned about Beel eating his breakfast." He said, clearly annoyed as you giggled.

"It's alright. Now let's get going before he actually eats it." You said, grabbing his hand and dragging him to breakfast.

Levi blushed when you grabbed his hand. But this made him smile knowing that you're always there for him no matter what. The thought of going to RAD made him slightly falter but he didn't want you to worry.

Breakfast went off without a hitch since everyone seemed to be busy with their own schedules. You and Levi both walked to RAD together as he sheepishly held onto your hand. It felt warm and nice to him but sadly it had to end when both you and him reached RAD.

"I'll see you at lunch okay?" You told him as he nodded.

"Bye Levi!" You said waving him off as he saw you run off to your classes while he did to his, still nervous as to what the day will bring him.

The rest of the school day at RAD went of smoothly for you. That was when lunch rolled around and you made your way to your cafeteria with your lunch in hand as you sat down on a table which no one sat down on yet.

You waited around for Levi to join you but ten minutes had already passed and he still hasn't come. Only Beel and Mammon had sat down at your table but still no Levi. So you decided to ask them.

"Hey have you two seen Levi?" You asked, breaking the silence.

"No I haven't." Mammon said.

"Sadly me neither." Beel said, munching on his chips as you nodded and got up.

"I'll go look for him." You announced as Mammon instantly spoke up.

"Do ya want me to go with ya? Like at least any one of us? Not that I don't want ya to or anything" He asked as I shook my head.

"I'll be fine. You two stay here while I look around the place for him." You told them as you walked out of the cafeteria and went to look around the RAD building.

So far you had no luck when you checked the council room or the classes he had earlier. You looked around other parts of the building until you heard voices on the side of the hall so you went to investigate.

You peaked through the wall to see two figures. One looked like a succubus and the other was a male demon and when you looked a little closer you noticed the demon they were talking to was Levi and you could tell he seemed uncomfortable and very hurt.

You didn't like how they were picking on him like that so you decided to step in and stop it once and for all.

"Hey! Leave him alone!" You shouted at the two as all of them looked at you but Levi was more scared when he heard your voice.

"M-MC?!" Levi exclaimed very much worried that they were going to hurt you now.

"Oh? Is your human partner standing up for you now? How sweet?" The succubus mocked as you clenched your fist.

"Why don't you just hop along now. I don't see why you would date some loser like- Gah!" He didn't finish as you already threw a punch at the male demon and broke his nose in order.

"He's not a loser! If you don't shut your mouth, you're going to regret even picking on him in the first place." You deadpanned.

"You're gonna pay for hurting my boyfriend like that!" the succubus said but stopped dead in his tracks as they heard another voice chime in.

"What is going on here?" You heard a cold steely voice as you looked behind you to see Lucifer walking towards the scene as Mammon tagged along behind him.

"L-Lucifer! This human attacked me for no reason!" The male demon said as you looked at him speechless.

"That's no true at all! They were picking on Levi so I had to step in until they started to make fun of him and said bad stuff about him." you told the first born as he narrowed his eyes before looking at Levi who seemed nervous.

"Is this true Leviathan?" He asked as the Third born nodded, quietly as Lucifer sighed.

"MC, please take Levi with you while me and Mammon deal with these two." He told you as you nodded and grabbed Levi by the arm and dragged him out of here and outside the building.

You knew things weren't going to end well for the two that were picking on your boyfriend so you decided to not waste your time to see what happens to them.

"Are you okay?" You asked the indigo haired male as he nodded.

"Y-Yeah thanks... You didn't have to do that for me. I-I mean they were right that I was a l-loser." He said as you sighed and hugged him.

"You're not a loser Levi! You're my boyfriend! You're the best boyfriend ever and I don't care what other people think cause they are wrong! You're perfect to me no matter what!" You pointed out as he instantly got flustered at your words.

"Y-Y-You can't just s-s-say stuff like that here..." He said, covering his face with his arm as you smiled.

"I'm not wrong now am I?" You asked him as he stayed silent which you took as a 'no'.

"Let's go back to the cafeteria. Beel will get worried if none of us shows up." You told him as you gave him a small peck on the cheek.

"C-Can w-we stay here for a few minutes? I-I don't feel like going back there right now? I-If it's okay with y-you!" He asked as you smiled and nodded.

"Yeah sure." You smiled as he returned it with a hug, smiling as you returned the hug, knowing he was no longer alone since you're there for him.

✧ they're plural (duh!) and have three heads which can communicate with each other and host the body both individually and together

✦ his wings are screens which means he can project any image he wants onto them, but the images above are his default (think of it like a screensaver X3)

✧ it has two other heads who have their own names, felis (she/xe) is on the left and stellaris (he/fae) is on the right, the three tend to engage in riveting banter
