#kpop rambling feel free to ignore#the thing about stray kids and ateez getting even more massively popular is that i am genuinely so happy for them?#like when i sort of half-watched that kingdom season years ago both groups struck me as just#incredibly talented and hard-working but also as just great guys? like making the whole show into more of a#lovefest (kinda) that a competition seems to have come from them being friendly and kind and refusing to be#bitchy and backstabby just to 'mske television' or whatever - so it came off more like the olympics lol#where people just want to do their very best and encourage their fellow participants to do *their* best etc etc#and i do love quite a few ateez songs - if not as much of their most recent stuff and admire stray kids style and ethos#even if most of their song catalog just doesn't click for me - bc that's cool! not everything is *for me*#i can recognize skill and talent and hard work even when something doesn't conform exactly to my personal vibe#(and also beauty is beauty like come on both groups are SO visually stunning they deserve every contract/close-up/photoshoot)#even though i mostly post about bts because i LOVE their music including the solo releases i still reblog skz and ateez#because they are amazing and i am thrilled that they're getting all the attention and success they deserve#(although maybe getting a little overworked like my gods i know you gotta capitalize on the moment#i do understand but let these men catch a *breath* you know - we've seen what happens when groups get exhausted and scheduled to death)#i just feel weird sometimes as a not official fan of the music always but more the groups as ... people? performers? idk#i just like them and think they're neat lol#and i keep wanting to say something about it but i think it'd be weird to leave the sentiment in like tags on someone's gifset or something#it's not like i don't think plenty of other groups are gorgeous and hardworking as well (lyon for life! ha)#i just keep vaguely paying attention to charts bc of bts solo stuff and seeing people like making an either/or proposition#out of who you like and i'm just happy they are all successful and getting their due?#like these guys are normalizing publicly being friends across companies and fandoms as well as#having boundaries and manners and calling out industry bullshit - i couldn't be more proud of them for that#and for sort of taking up where bts had to leave off bc of ms in pushing the industry forward#like 4th gen is doing the WORK and while building off the foundations laid beforehand they're also#remaining down to earth and not ... untouchable? for the fans? and just generally presenting a 'regular guys' type image#which ... i guess i'm old and remember when a group of twentysomething guys meant public wastedness and clubbing and#horrible sexist girlfriend situationships and gossip columns and seemingly competing to appear like the most 'gangsta'#so like legos and fashion design and amateur asmr etc are reassuring pastimes lol#like not implying they don't drink or scuffle or get up to things but just the sense of being dedicated professionals is VERY clear

The next morning was bright and full of promise, but you surely weren’t. You woke up aching despite the surprisingly comfortable bed. The throbbing in your head had returned, though not as intense as before, and you groaned as you sat up, rubbing your temples in a futile attempt to ease the dull pain. “What will it take for me to relax for once?” you muttered under your breath, feeling the weight of everything that had happened pressing down on you.
You dragged yourself to the small basin in the corner of the room, splashing cold water on your face to wake up properly. As the water trickled down your skin, you couldn’t help but yearn for the simple comforts of a home—a soft bed, a toothbrush, clean clothes that weren’t scavenged from a pirate’s stash, it had been way too long to say that you could remember what it all felt like. The ship’s water was salty, leaving an unpleasant taste in your mouth as you rinsed, and it made you miss the fresh, clean water you’d taken for granted.
Just as you were wiping your face dry, a knock echoed from the door, followed by the sound of the lock clicking open. You tensed, still not accustomed to the idea that you were on a pirate ship with little to no privacy. You walked over cautiously and opened the door, revealing the burly looking man from the previous night.
Now that you could see him clearly in the bright morning light, you noticed things you hadn’t before. His face, though rough around the edges, had a certain charm to it—too nice for a pirate, you thought, especially with the way his face stretched wide into a cutesy, dimpled smile. His eyes crinkled at the corners, disappearing into crescents as he grinned down at you. If he weren’t a pirate, you would’ve been tempted to pinch his cheeks and call him cute.
“Good morning, Ms. Navigator,” he greeted cheerfully, his smooth voice carrying an unexpected warmth. “Here’s some clothes for you—a sort of gift of welcome you may say, they’re sent by our captain. Get dressed; he wants to see you in his room.”
Before you could ask anything, he turned on his heel and started walking away, his movements smooth and almost silent, like a cat. You called after him, your voice trailing off awkwardly. “Thank you, but…I don’t even know your name. Who are you?”
He didn’t respond, just kept walking, the only sound being the soft padding of his boots against the wooden floor. You watched him disappear around the corner, wondering how someone so large could move so quietly. It was a little creepy, to say the least.
Sighing, you closed the door and latched it from the inside, turning your attention to the bundle of clothes he’d handed you. They were surprisingly nice—an off-white shirt, brown leather pants, and a loose navy cardigan. The simplicity of the outfit was appealing, yet the stitching and the quality of the fabric hinted at something much more expensive than you’d expected from pirates. The clothes looked almost brand new, and you couldn’t help but wonder how and where they had gotten women’s clothes that fit so perfectly. You wondered if the previous owner had died at their hands or something.
Despite your unease, you put the clothes on, surprised once again at how well they fit. The shirt was soft against your skin, and the leather pants hugged your legs comfortably without being too tight. The cardigan was a nice touch, and clearly whoever chose it had a good sense of fashion. You had to admit, you were impressed, but that only made you more suspicious. There was no way this was a coincidence.
Dressed and somewhat ready, you took a deep breath and prepared yourself for whatever awaited you in the captain’s quarters. The memory of casual way he’d spoken about tossing you into the ocean still lingered in your mind, making your heart race with anxiety. You knew you had to be on your guard, but you also knew that you had to play along if you wanted to survive.
With a final glance at your reflection in the small cracked mirror by the bed, you straighten your posture and braced yourself for what was to come. The captain wanted to see you, and you had no choice but to face him—whatever that might entail.
You walked out and saw the tall man waiting for you outside. He reminded you of a beanpole at first but seeing him now made your heart flutter for a moment. His eyes were closed, his head tilted up to the sky as if savouring the warmth of the sun. The golden light fell on his face, highlighting the gentle curve of his nose and the soft shape of his lips. It struck you as odd—how all these pirates were so handsome, each one with features that seemed better suited to a noble’s court than a pirate ship. His relaxed demeanour and perpetual smile made you wonder what had him so amused all the time, and how he managed to maintain such a cheerful facade in a life filled with such horrors and chaos.
You cleared your throat, breaking the silence, and awkwardly muttered, “Uh..morning.”
Without opening his eyes, he responded in his usual bright tone, “Ah, I see you haven’t tried to kill yourself yet.”
You raised an eyebrow at his comment, and despite yourself, you couldn’t help but reply with a hint of sarcasm. “Even if I did, your captain would probably force me back to life just so he could kill me himself.”
He chuckled at that, a genuine laugh that seemed to fill the corridor with warmth. Slowly, he opened his eyes and turned to face you, his expression softening with amusement. With an exaggerated flourish, he bowed deeply. “Shall we?” he asked, offering his arm with an air of mock chivalry.
You rolled your eyes and swatted his arm away, a small smile tugging at the corner of your mouth despite your best efforts to remain serious. “Lead the way,” you said, shaking your head at his antics.
He straightened up, still grinning, and turned to lead you down the corridor. As you followed him, you noticed that his cheerful demeanour didn’t seem forced; it was as if he genuinely found joy in every little thing, a trait you couldn’t quite understand. Life on a pirate ship didn’t exactly lend itself to happiness, yet here he was, acting as if he didn’t have a care in the world. You had decided, this man was definitely a puppy in his past life, perhaps a golden retriever.
As you walked, the sounds of the ship began to filter through the wooden walls—the creaking of the hull, the distant shouts of men working above deck, the rhythmic slapping of waves against the hull. You tried to keep your thoughts focused on the task at hand, but the more you walked, the more your mind wandered back to the captain. There was something that seemed off about him, and those stupid sunglasses he wore even in the darkest of rooms annoyed you. You weren’t sure what kind of man you were dealing with, and that uncertainty tormented you.
Your guide, seemingly sensing your tension, kept up a steady stream of chatter as you walked. “You know, the captain’s not so bad once you get to know him,” he said, glancing back at you with a wink. “Sure, he’s a bit…intense, but he’s fair. He doesn’t waste good talent, and from what I’ve heard, you’ve got plenty of that.”
You scoffed lightly. “I’m a navigator, not a pirate, and where could you have possibly heard about me, for all you know I might be lying.”
“Ah, but that’s where you’re wrong,” he said with a grin, completely ignoring the second part. “On this ship, we’re all pirates. Whether you like it or not, you’re part of the crew now. But don’t worry,” he added quickly, seeing the flash of alarm on your face. “We’re not all bad. Some of us are even quite charming, wouldn’t you say?”
You gave him a sidelong glance. “Is that your way of telling me to trust you?”
He shrugged, his grin widening. “Trust is earned, not given. But I like to think I’m off to a good start.”
Before you could respond, he stopped in front of a familiar door—the one you recognized as the captain’s quarters. The cheery man turned to you, his playful expression softening slightly. “Don’t worry,” he said quietly. “The captain might be intimidating, but he’s not unreasonable. Just don’t lie…he doesn’t like that.”
You nodded, though your heart was pounding in your chest. The man knocked on the door, then opened it, gesturing for you to step inside. You took a deep breath, composing yourself, and walked through the doorway, feeling the shroud of the heavy atmosphere settle around you. As the door closed behind you, you were once again alone with the captain, who stood by the large window, the morning sun casting long shadows across the room. It must be his respawn point, you thought to yourself.
He turned slowly, that same unsettling smile pulling at his lips, and you felt an involuntary shiver run down your spine. “Good morning, navigator,” he said, his voice feeling sickly sweet at that moment. “Let’s see what you’re really made of, shall we?” Without waiting for a response, he continued, “Come with me. We must make haste; there’s no time to waste. We need to reach the Northern Aurora Islands within the next three days.”
His sudden urgency surprised you. He walked to the door, pausing just before opening it. “I hope you realise,” he said, his tone low and threatening, “that your position here is as good as temporary. If you put me or my crew in unwarranted danger, you will find yourself meeting your maker sooner than expected.” He let the threat linger in the air for a moment before adding, “And of course, any information we discuss in private stays between us. If I hear a word of it from anyone not involved…” He trailed off, the unspoken consequences clear in his dark look .
He opened the door and gestured for you to go ahead, his eyebrow arched in expectation. With a deep breath, you stepped out into the corridor, feeling his gaze burn into your back as he followed. The two of you made your way up onto the main deck, the bright sunlight forcing you to squint. You noticed that the captain had never once removed his sunglasses. You were tempted to ask about them but thought better of it when you saw the serious, impatient look on his face. Instead, you asked the more pressing question. “Where exactly are we now?”
He glanced at you briefly, his expression unreadable. “You were taken from the slaver ship three days ago, near the Light Marshes. We’re nearing the Dark Marshes now.”
His words made your stomach drop. “I was out for two days?” you exclaimed, horrified.
He chuckled, a sound that sent a chill down your spine. “Yes, we reckoned you might not wake up at all.”
You looked at him, mortified by how casually he joked about your near-death experience. But before you could say anything else, you reached a large door at the end of a corridor. The captain pushed it open, revealing a spacious room that seemed to be some sort of meeting chamber. A large table occupied the centre, its surface scattered with maps, compasses, and various instruments—some of which you had never seen before. Your curiosity piqued instantly, your fingers itching to touch the cool metal and figure out the purpose of each tool.
But before you could act on your impulses, the captain’s hand gripped your shoulders roughly, steering you toward the table. “Sit,” he commanded, his voice leaving no room for argument. You obeyed, trying to calm the sudden rush of panic that surged through you when he walked back to the door, closing and locking it with a decisive click. Your flight or fight, mostly flight, instincts were thundering. The sound echoed in the room, setting your nerves on edge.
You took a deep breath, trying to focus on the task at hand. But your mind was racing with questions—the highlighted question among them being the identity of these men. “Excuse me,” you stuttered, your voice trembling slightly. “May I at least know who you are?”
The captain turned back toward you, his usual grin spreading across his face as he walked closer. “Are you familiar with the name ATEEZ?” he asked, his tone laced with amusement.
The name sent a cold chill down your spine. Of course, you knew of them. ATEEZ is infamous, a name that struck fear into the hearts of the most seasoned of sailors and even the marines. They had surfaced around six years ago and quickly built up a reputation as the most feared and ruthless pirates in all the seas. The tales of their exploits were legendary—and terrifying. Your eyes widened in horror as you processed the realisation, your voice barely a whisper as you tried to confirm, “Is that really you?”
The captain laughed aloud filling the room. “Yes, indeed,” he said, performing a mocking bow. “Captain Kim Hongjoong, at your service.”
You stared at him, your mouth hanging open in shock, unable to form any coherent response. The horror on your face seemed to amuse him even more, and he was about to say something else when another voice suddenly cut through the tension.
“I’m Yunho!” The cheerful voice was jarring, completely out of place in the heavy atmosphere of the room. You turned toward the sound, your eyes landing on the tall man who had been with you earlier. He was standing in the corner of the room, a wide grin on his face, hands on his hips as he proudly declared, “Jeong Yunho, ship’s engineer!”, he had apparently materialised out of nowhere.
You blinked slowly, your brain struggling to keep up with the situation. Before you could fully process what was happening, you let out a scream, which was quickly muffled by Hongjoong’s hand clamping down over your mouth. “Shh,” he hissed, his face dangerously close to yours. “Calm down, or people might get the wrong idea.”
You nodded frantically, and he slowly removed his hand. You took a deep breath, your heart pounding as you turned your wide-eyed gaze back to Yunho. “Where the hell did you come from?” you whisper-yelled, your voice shaking.
Yunho chuckled, completely unfazed. “Oh, I was always here. You just didn’t notice me. I was fixing up some tools and stuff. Like I said, I’m the engineer.”
You looked at him in disbelief, finally noticing the welding goggles perched atop his head and the smears of grease and paint on his cheeks. “You could have at least told me you were there!” you snapped. “Made your presence known, maybe?”
He just laughed again, the sound light and carefree, as if you weren’t in the middle of the most terrifying situation of your life. Before you could say anything else, Hongjoong cleared his throat impatiently, cutting off Yunho’s laughter and drawing your attention back to him. His expression was serious once more, and the playful banter evaporated from the room.
“Let’s move on now, shall we?” he said, his tone sharp, silencing the room as you steered yourself towards whatever task awaited you.
He crossed his arms, his sunglasses reflecting the faint light filtering through the room’s small window. “As I said, the Northern Aurora Islands are where we must be in the next three days. There is a man I need to see regarding certain… business. Your task right now is to find the safest and quickest route. Even a day late, and I might miss the deadline.” His voice was low, you could barely catch the latter of what he said.
Your expression grew serious as you switched to professional mode. “The Swartz Peninsula could pose a problem around this time,” you began, examining the maps before you. “The marines usually like to patrol that area, especially with the merchant ships docked for the off-season. We need to find a better way out.” You paused, debating whether to ask the next question or not, but decided to take a chance. “May I ask who this man you’re meeting is? And what’s the deal with the deadline?”
Hongjoong’s pointed gaze flicked to you, his expression hardening. “Those details do not concern you… yet.” The emphasis on the word ‘yet’ was a clear warning. You opened your mouth to argue but quickly shut it, realising it wasn’t worth agitating him.
He nodded slightly, acknowledging your silence. “You’re correct about the peninsula, but that’s why you’re here, isn’t it? To solve these kinds of issues.” There was a rising edge to his voice, a simmering anger just beneath the surface. He didn’t have much in the patience department you figured.
“Yes, sir. I’ll get to work right away,” you replied quickly, sensing the urgency.
“Alright then. I’ll leave you to it,” he said, turning towards the door. “We’ll meet again in the evening. If I don’t see significant progress… well, you already know what could happen.” His words were threateningly calm. He glanced over at Yunho. “Yunho, you’re to assist her today since you have nothing better to do anyway.”
Yunho groaned loudly. “Wait a minute! Who said I didn’t? Hyung, you can’t leave me here with her,” his previously cheerful demeanour shifted into frustration. It was the first time you had seen him express an emotion that wasn’t sheer happiness, and you had to be the reason for it.
But Hongjoong ignored his protests and continued toward the door. Yunho followed behind like a lost puppy, his face pleading. Before Yunho could argue further, the captain quickly opened the door and then slammed it shut in Yunho's face, leaving no space for negotiation.
Yunho sighed dramatically, dragging his long legs and pulling up a chair beside you. He plopped down with a loud huff, his shoulders slumping forward as he grabbed a random map from the table and started unfurling and furling it with clear boredom.
“What is wrong with working with me?” you asked, slightly offended by his clear reluctance. “I’m such a nice person. You should be honoured if anything.”
Yunho turned to you with a deadpan look. “Let’s just get this over with. Studying maps isn’t exactly how I imagined spending my day today,” he muttered, tossing the map he had been playing with back onto the table and leaning over your shoulder to see what you were doing.
You scoffed, deciding to be the bigger person and ignore his comment. You grabbed a pencil and began making notes along the margins of the map, your mind already mulling over the possible routes, calculating distances, and marking areas of potential dangers. The hum of the ship’s machinery and the distant calls of seagulls filled the silence between you.
Yunho shifted in his chair, tapping his foot against the floor, very clearly uncomfortable with the silence. He watched you for a moment, his head tilted to the side, before speaking up. “You really know what you’re doing, huh?” His tone was almost begrudgingly impressed.
You didn’t look up from your work. “Of course. I’ve been doing this a long time. And besides, if I don’t do a good job, your dear captain might just make me fish fodder, and it's too bright of a day to swim with the sharks.”
Yunho chuckled softly, his expressions lightening up a little. “Yeah, he’s not big on second chances,” he admitted. Then, leaning closer, he whispered conspiratorially, “But between you and me, you’ve got a better chance than most. He wouldn’t have spared you for even a second if he didn’t think you were useful.”
You glanced at him out of the corner of your eye. “You’re just saying that to make me feel better.”
He grinned. “Maybe.”
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help a small smile from tugging at your lips. There was something about Yunho’s casual attitude that was oddly comforting. “Alright, if you’re so bored, why don’t you make yourself useful and get me an estimate on the weather conditions?” you suggested, gesturing to a stack of weather charts on the side of the table. “We need to know if we’re going to have to face any storms or unfavourable winds.”
Yunho’s face lit up slightly at the idea of having something to do, even if it was not ideal. “Aye, aye, navigator,” he said with a mock salute, grabbing the charts and flipping through them.
As you continued to study the maps, making annotations and considering various routes, you found yourself feeling a little lighter. Maybe, just maybe, this wouldn’t be as unbearable as you thought.
Hours passed as you meticulously combed through various maps and charts. The sun was already making its way towards the west, casting streams of golden light across the room. You remained focused on your task, occasionally glancing up as Yunho wandered around, fiddling with various instruments, and scribbling random notes on rough paper. Despite his earlier complaints, he would sometimes offer surprisingly useful snippets of information about the ship’s capabilities — like its 54-knot speed and the height of its masts and stuff related to air pressure.
But soon, his restlessness began to influence your own mind. You could feel the fatigue weighing down your eyelids, words had started to swim in front of your eyes. At least you had managed to outline a few potential routes. All that remained was the daunting task of presenting your findings to the captain. Hongjoong still unnerved you, but you were becoming used to his constant threats.
Deciding to rest a bit, you leaned back in your chair, glancing over at Yunho, who seemed deeply engrossed in dismantling a peculiar-looking box. He probably wouldn’t mind if you closed your eyes for a moment. You leaned your head back, let your eyelids flutter shut, and welcomed the warm blanket settling over your thoughts.
Just as sleep was about to sweep you away, a loud bang jolted you awake. The door to the room had been flung open with such force that it slammed against the wall, rebounding with a sharp creak, causing you to startle and lose your balance. You fell from your chair, landing hard on your side with a groan. Blinking in surprise, you looked up to see a man standing in the doorway, his appearance dishevelled, his hair blown out at odd angles, and parts of his clothing drenched in seawater.
It was the same man who had suggested selling you off the night before. A flash of anger surged through you as you side-eyed him furiously, but he seemed completely oblivious to your presence. He turned his attention straight to Yunho, his voice urgent and strained.
“Storm flashes,” he panted, catching his breath and putting his hands on his knees. “They shouldn’t be happening right now, but Captain wants you and the navigator. We need to secure the ship. The waters are unpredictable, and we haven’t even hit the big one yet. The lower masts are already wavering,” he pointed behind him.
Your anger melded into confusion and then horror. You had read about storm flashes — violent bursts of wind and icy rain, accompanied by deafening thunder and blinding lightning. The rain felt like tiny blades cutting open your skin, and the wind could be so strong that it could pick people up and blow them away. Though you had never experienced one firsthand, the descriptions you had read were enough to fill you with a sense of dread.
Yunho's face had lost its usual playful expression, replaced with one of concern. He shot up from his place on the floor and nodded sharply. "We don’t have much time,” he muttered before glancing back at you. “You heard him. Let’s go.”
You scrambled to your feet, you were afraid, you couldn’t just die after enduring so much pain and not finishing what was started. You were on a pirate ship in the middle of dangerous waters, and now you were about to face a deadly storm, surely you would make it, just like the other times. Unfortunately, there was no time to dwell on your fears. You nodded, brushing off your clothes, and hurrying after Yunho.
The man at the door, who seemed to have been partially soaked by the storm’s initial onslaught, looked back at you with a calculative gaze, as if he was checking how useful you’d be, before moving out of your way. “Stay close and follow instructions,” he snapped, his voice hard. “We can’t afford mistakes right now.”
You followed Yunho up to the main deck, your heart racing with every step. The wind outside had already begun to pick up, the pressure dropping, and the skies were a deep, foreboding grey. The ship creaked and groaned under the strain of the rising waves, and the air was thick with the smell of salt and you could almost taste the electricity in the air.
Crew members moved frantically around the deck, securing ropes, fastening cargo, and shouting instructions to each other over the deafening roar of the wind. You could see Captain Hongjoong standing near the helm, his face calm but focused, barking orders at his crew.
“Get those sails down! Prepare for the storm flashes!” he yelled. His voice, though firm, seemed almost calm in the face of the chaos, as if he’d done this all before, which he probably must have. He turned his head, spotting you and Yunho. “Navigator, up here!” he called, waving you over to the helm.
You made your way toward him, gripping the railings tightly to keep from being blown off balance by the gusts of wind. Yunho was right behind you, still keeping his eye on parts of the ship that might need securing.
When you reached Hongjoong, he didn’t waste a second. “We need to find shelter, fast. The storm flashes are already upon us, and we haven’t even touched the big one yet. Can we make it past the Swartz Peninsula, or do we need to find another way?” he shouted, his voice barely audible over the wind.
You glanced at the map you had been holding tightly in your hand. Your mind raced as you quickly calculated distances and potential obstacles. “We can try to cut around the peninsula, but it’ll be risky,” you shouted back. “If we can’t make it past before the storm intensifies, we’ll be caught in the worst of it.”
Hongjoong nodded, considering your words carefully. “Then we have no choice but to risk it. Yunho, get down to the engine room and make sure everything is secured. If the engines fail, we’re as good as dead, and raise the reinforcements.”
Yunho nodded and turned to leave, but not before giving you a quick, reassuring smile. “Don’t worry,” he said softly. “We’ll get through this.”
You nodded back, gripping the edge of the helm as the first flashes of lightning illuminated the darkened skies. The ship lurched forward, fighting the rising waves, and your mind raced through every bit of knowledge you had about this treacherous part of the sea. You closed your eyes, mind going faster than light, trying to figure out something- anything that could help. Then it clicked, your eyes shot open.
There was a little passage along the peninsula that most sailors didn’t know about — but you did. Your teacher had spoken of it with a certain fondness, referring to it as one of "her places." She had told you about several of these spots, hidden pathways and secret routes that she seemed to treasure. You never quite understood why she called them hers; she didn’t own them, and it wasn’t as if she had discovered them, but there was always a special gleam in her eyes when she spoke of them.
After she passed, these places remained a mystery, an unfinished guide left behind for you to complete. When you started taking odd jobs as a navigator for small merchant ships, you began to test her secrets. You soon realised that no one seemed to know of these pathways — they weren’t on any maps, and even the most seasoned sailors seemed oblivious to their existence. They were often the easiest routes, bypassing dangerous reefs or cutting through the most anarchic parts of the sea. You kept this knowledge to yourself, claiming that you had stumbled upon them by accident, and surprisingly, no one ever questioned it. Over time, they forgot about these secret ways altogether. But you hadn’t.
And now, one of those secret routes could save all of your lives. This passage was exactly what you needed: a sea cave that ran beneath the peninsula from one end to the other. The best part was its entrance — a narrow opening concealed by a wall of sea stumps, jagged rocks that jutted out from the water and looked like an extension of the land itself. From a distance, it seemed like an impassable barrier, and most sailors wouldn’t even think to venture closer. The only way to reach the cave's entrance was through a slim strip of water, just wide enough for a single ship to slip through. You had only passed through it once before, on a much smaller vessel, and even then, it had been tight.
You glanced back at Hongjoong, who was gripping the wheel with focused determination. The wind whipped his hair around his face, and his eyes, still hidden behind those dark sunglasses, seemed to pierce through the storm ahead. "There might be another way," you yelled, trying to make your voice heard over the howling wind. "There's a passage, a sea cave that cuts right through the peninsula. If we can find the entrance, we can make it through to the other side."
Hongjoong looked at you, his expression incredulous. "A sea cave?" he repeated, his voice half-drowned by the noise of the storm. "And you’re sure it’s real? Not just some sailor’s tale?"
“It’s real,” you insisted. “My teacher told me about it. I’ve used it before. But it’s tricky — the entrance is hidden, and the waters around it are narrow. We have to be precise.”
He studied you for a moment longer, then nodded. “Show me where,” he ordered. You quickly unfurled the map, your fingers tracing along the contours of the peninsula, then pointing to a spot where the line of the land met the sea.
“Here,” you said. “It’s hidden by sea stumps, but there’s a passage through them. If we keep our heading slightly to the east, we should see them soon. The opening will be small, but we have to get through before the storm closes in completely.”
Hongjoong nodded sharply, his jaw tight. “Alright,” he called out to the crew, “adjust the sails! Bring us slightly eastward — keep a sharp eye out for jutting rocks.”
The crew moved quickly to follow his orders, and the ship began to veer slightly to the right. You could feel the sparks in the air, and tension thicker than the storm clouds above. The wind howled louder, and the first drops of rain began to fall, cold and sharp against your skin. You felt sharp crystals of ice scratch your skin. You winced, touching your cheek and feeling the smallest droplets of blood.
Yunho returned from below deck, his face serious. "Engines are secure, but we’re running hot," he reported to Hongjoong. “We don’t have much time.”
“We don’t need time,” Hongjoong shot back, his eyes fixed ahead, for the second time you saw his sunglasses off of his face, and the grey of his eyes fought against the stormy clouds with equal persistence. “We just need luck.”
You leaned forward, squinting through the rain, searching for any sign of the sea stumps. The waves were growing more violent, the ship pitching up and down with increasing force. Lightning flashed across the sky, illuminating the water for a brief moment. And then, you saw them — dark shapes protruding from the sea, just where you expected them to be.
“There!” you shouted, pointing. “There’s the entrance!”
Hongjoong steered the ship toward the stumps, navigating carefully through the narrow waters. The crew held their breath as the ship drew closer to the hidden opening. You could feel your heart pounding in your chest, your fingers gripping the edge of the helm so tightly your knuckles turned white.
The ship inched forward, titling dangerously and straightening back up, the waves slapping against the hull with a deafening roar. You looked at Hongjoong, veins in his neck protruding from the strain of it all. The narrow strip of water seemed impossibly tight, but the ship kept moving, squeezing through with painstaking slowness. You held your breath, praying silently that you had made the right call, that the cave was deep enough for a ship this size.
And then, with a final heave, the ship slipped through the opening and into the mouth of the sea cave. The walls of the cave rose up around you, sheltering you from the wind and rain. The noise of the storm outside seemed to soften, though the roar of the water echoed loudly against the stone.
For a moment, there was only the sound of your breathing, the creak of the ship, and the steady drip of water from the cave ceiling. You had made it — for now, at least.
Hongjoong turned to you, a rare grin breaking across his face. "Not bad," he said, his voice echoing off the cave walls. "Now let’s see if we can get through the rest of it alive."
Without missing a beat, he raised his voice to command the crew. “Wooyoung, assess overall damage while we still have light!” he yelled at the man stationed at the lookout post. “Yunho, get on with the minor fixes. Take Mingi and San if you need help.”
You wondered briefly, who the other men were, breaking from your thoughts on hearing a chorus of “Aye, Captain!” behind you. The deck was suddenly alive with a flurry of movement, ropes being secured, and tools being fetched.
"Move aside, miss," a soft voice spoke over your shoulder, startling you. You turned and found yourself face to face with a tall man who looked like he had been resurrected from a shipwreck — dark circles under his eyes and a pallor that suggested he hadn’t slept in days.
"Ahh, who the fuck are you?" you exclaimed impulsively, unable to mask your surprise.
The man remained unfazed. "Park Seonghwa," he replied evenly. "Quartermaster and occasional helmsman, which is what I must do right now if you’d so kindly give me some space."
You blinked, momentarily thrown by his calm manner, before stepping back to allow him access to the helm. He slid smoothly into position beside the captain, his hands deftly taking control of the wheel. Hongjoong moved away, satisfied, and motioned for you to follow him.
You broke away from the spot where you were frozen in place, trailing behind him as he made his way to a small covered area behind the main mast. The rain was still pounding down outside the cave, but inside, it felt almost eerily calm.
"You have proved your worth, Miss Navigator," Hongjoong began, his voice low and thoughtful. "I’d like to keep you around since you are of use. Not that you have a choice, of course." He paused, looking you over with that keen gaze of his. "This is not where our journey ends. According to you, our estimated time of arrival should be…?”
You thought for a moment, running the calculations quickly in your head. “Approximately nine hours until we leave the cave, and then another day or so to reach the eastern port towns of the Northern Aurora Islands.”
He nodded, seeming pleased with your response. “Yes, that’s good. We’re much ahead of schedule, which I must say I appreciate. It means we have time to do just one more thing, which I will brief you on once we’re on the other side. Until then, you can rest or do whatever you need — maybe get your head bandaged again; it seems like the wound has reopened.”
His fingers lightly touched your chin, tilting your face so he could inspect the injury. For a brief second, the world seemed to narrow down to the space between you and him. His touch was surprisingly gentle, his thumb brushing the edge of the bandage. The moment felt oddly intimate, a flicker of something almost like concern crossing his eyes before he released you.
The second his fingers left your skin, the throbbing in your head returned wanting nothing but revenge. You winced, realising he was right — the wound had indeed reopened. You sighed, resigned to another trip to see the doctor. At least, you thought, the prospect of visiting the surprisingly gentle physician wasn’t so bad. It even made you feel a tiny bit happier.
You nodded at Hongjoong, bidding him a quiet goodnight. “I’ll get it checked out,” you promised, relieved to have some time to rest before he decided to thrust another herculean task upon you.
Hongjoong gave a small, satisfied nod. "Good. We’ll reconvene after we’ve made it to the other side," he said, his expression returning to its usual seriousness. "Rest while you can."
As you made your way below deck, the noise of the crew bustling around, repairing the minor damages and securing the ship, faded into the background. You felt a strange mix of exhaustion and relief settling in.
You found your way back to the makeshift infirmary, knocking lightly before entering. The familiar sight of the doctor — with his soft, steady hands and kind eyes — was a pleasant sight after what you just went through.
"Back again so soon?" he asked with a gentle smile, not phased by the events that transpired outside, his eyes flicking to the reopened wound on your head.
You managed a tired smile in return. "Seems like I just can’t stay out of trouble," you replied.
He chuckled softly, motioning for you to sit down. "Let’s get you patched up again, shall we? I’m starting to think you might be enjoying my company a little too much."
You couldn’t help but laugh at that, finally allowing yourself to loosen up for the first time in hours. “Of course, you’re currently my favourite person—apart from the part where you agreed to throw me off the ship. That was not cool."
He pouted in defence, looking genuinely affronted. “Hey! I never said that. I just said I didn’t revive you just for you to get killed anyway. It took a lot of work, you know!”
You laughed harder at his expression, amused at how his serious attitude melted into a childish pout. "Fine, fine, I’ll let it slide,” you teased, only to yelp softly when he lightly smacked your shoulder. “Sit still and let me work,” he scolded, but there was a teasing lilt in his voice that made it hard to take him seriously.
You apologised, still trying to stifle your laughter, and as the conversation fizzled out into a comfortable silence, you felt the tension ebb away out of your body. His hands were steady, the familiar scent of herbs and clean linen filling the air as he patched you up again. You closed your eyes, the soreness slowly slipped away, as his magic worked wonders on your injury. By the time he finished, the pain had pretty much vanished.
"Thanks," you mumbled, your voice heavy with the sleep that was already threatening to pull you under. A yawn escaped before you could hold it back, and when you blinked your eyes open again, you found Yeosang staring at you intently, a strange emotion flickering in his dark eyes—something that you couldn’t understand yet.
He quickly blinked and turned away, busying himself with packing up his supplies. When he helped you stand, there was a soft smile on his lips, though his eyes avoided yours. Without a word, he walked you to the door. “Goodnight,” he said gently as you stepped out, his voice as soft as the smile still lingering on his face.
But just before he could close the door, you hesitated. "Wait," you called, making him pause. He raised an eyebrow at you. "You never told me your name."
His eyes widened slightly as if the thought hadn’t crossed his mind. Then, his expression softened, eyes crinkling at the corners as his lips stretched into a smile. "Kang Yeosang," he replied, his voice gentle. “How very nice to meet you.”
You smiled back, the name rolling around in your head. “Hmm… Yeosang,” you tested, a soft giggle escaping your lips. “A pretty name fit for a pretty boy.”
For a moment, Yeosang stood frozen, eyes wide as if he didn’t quite process what you’d said. “Y-you think I’m pretty?” he stammered, his cool, calm facade cracking.
The realisation of what you’d just said hit you like a tidal wave, and your cheeks immediately flushed crimson. "Goodnight!" you blurted in a panic, not waiting for his response as you quickly turned on your heel and rushed down the hallway, your heart thundering in your chest.
Behind you, you could hear Yeosang chuckle softly at your antics, but you didn’t dare look back. You practically ran into your room, slamming the door shut behind you. Pressing your cold hands against your burning cheeks, you tried to calm yourself down, heart still racing. Had you really just called a pirate—*that* pirate—pretty? What was wrong with you?
You flopped onto your bed, staring up at the ceiling in disbelief as the events of the day replayed in your mind. You had somehow managed to make it through a storm, navigated through a secret passage, and now… you’d gone and flirted with the ship’s doctor. Just amazing.
Despite your embarrassment, a small smile tugged at your lips as you thought of Yeosang's flustered reaction, it was kind of cute. You still slapped your cheeks to remove these thoughts from your brain.
Slowly, exhaustion caught up to you, and your racing thoughts began to fade. You drifted off to sleep, your heart finally calming.

"Dance with me" || park seonghwa || one-shot
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
| genre: non!idol ateez. fluff. slice of life | mentions: teasing. fainting. jewelry gift. | This is literally my high school delusions. My old school is literally an 'old school' school like no phones and computers, being in a relationship is not allowed, and big ass windows as our source of fans--- i mean we do have electric fans and ceiling fans but with the weather and a very old, close to dying, e-fans? We really have to depend on the wind from our windows. Anyways, this list is basically a true experience. My personal favorite? Song Mingi's.
To visualize the story, here: How I imagine
Tumblr media
The festival had ended with a loud bang. It is a celebration of the schools’ founding anniversary. Old students came and celebrated—even shared some advice in looking for a university and how to pass their entrance exam or stories about how they made the head school minister angry because of them not attending the last day of practice in graduation.
“Hey! Ms. Naduranta asks for you to be part of the cotillion, have you given them the permission slip?” You snapped out of your thoughts when Seonghwa spoke, not even looking up from his work, he was facing your desk instead of his. He was jotting down notes that he missed last monday and is in a hurry to finish it before the practice for the promenade happens and he doesn’t need to overwork himself to comply with his missing requirements.
You shake your head, sighing. You were over the moon to be part of the dance but you have no confidence at all. Placing your pen beside your notebook as Seonghwa continues to write down his notes, looking at him. “I’m a bad dancer and besides, my absence could be a chance for the others to join.”
This time, Seonghwa looks up from his work, scoffing, playfully tapping the pen on your forehead. You mouth a small ‘ow’ before rubbing it off, “You are one of the good dancers here. Ms. Naduranta is the one asking for you; it means she has a feeling that you will win the crown for the night.”
You scoff this time, leaning back on your chair. “I’m bad and there’s nothing stopping me.” Seonghwa eyes you in judgement before shrugging, continuing his work, “Whatever.”
Prom. It was the event every senior anticipated, and Park Seonghwa, being in charge of the sound system, was busier than ever. He darted in and out of the classroom, monitoring the songs and equipment, leaving you alone to complete your notes and requirements, which he would later borrow to catch up.
Despite the demands of the upcoming event, Seonghwa remained by your side. He knew about your social butterfly still inside its cocoon, no anytime of the day will it try to come out of it. Though, there were times you spoke about you not including his obligation in his daily life but he debunked your words and chose to stay with you. No matter what, he speaks highly of you, he mentions things about ‘that’s her favorite’ or ‘she does not like that’.
Everyone thought you were his girlfriend; well, you are his childhood friend. Don’t get yourself wrong on this because he is popular as the school’s heartthrob and you feared he might drift away into the spotlight, surrounded by admirers, but like mention he stayed with you. Still, the envious glares of others sometimes made you question how long it would last.
You walk inside the room, already expecting the class to be half full since all morning classes were cancelled to prepare for the prom, and you were selected to participate in the dance.
Seonghwa saw you, sliding the door close of your classroom, before walking towards the direction of the auditorium. He smiles, his heart speeding at the sight of you, holding the box of chords and extensions for the sound system, “Goodmorning, where are you going?”
You look up, rubbing your arm, as the chilly morning nips on your skin, “Good morning Seonghwa, I’m on my way to the auditorium.”
Nodding his head, hiding his excitement because Seonghwa knew you accepted the offer after 4 days of considering joining. He heard from Ms. Naduranta about your acceptance and now every day, if he only knew this is what he has to see every day, Seonghwa watched you practice with your partner, his jaw tightening with an unfamiliar feeling that gnawed at him. He couldn't shake the discomfort—the way your partner held your hand, how you smiled during the routine—it stirred something deep inside him.
His heart pounded harder each time, the jealousy creeping up uninvited. It wasn’t just about the dance. Seonghwa felt a possessive pull, an intense need to keep you close, fearing that someone else might steal you away, even though he never doubted your loyalty as a friend.
He wouldn't have let you join but he re-considers it after seeing you all smiley and interactive with other students.
Finally, on the day when you were alone in the auditorium, waiting for the others to join practice, a quiet settled over the room. You wandered over to the table where the sound system was set up, but there was no sign of Seonghwa. Curiosity getting the better of you, you sat down on the table and picked up his MP3 player. As you scrolled through his playlist, you found several old songs—tracks you both used to listen to when you were younger. Nostalgia washed over you as you stopped at one song and pressed play. The soft melody echoed throughout the auditorium, filling the empty space.
‘You’re just too good to be true …’ Your ears were satisfied with the soft music. These past days you were having a headache and earache as the loud music blares, almost to the point you have to yell to the others.
“Feeling a bit nostalgic eh?” Seonghwa's voice interrupted your thoughts. He emerged from the sound system room. You looked up, giggling, "I thought you deleted this one!"
He scoffs, placing his hand inside his blazer, "Why would I delete that?"
You rose an eyebrow, "Because you said it's not your type of music?" But truth to be told, all your favorite music were inside the MP3 as well, he hears you playing them every weekend. Including the one playing currently. His hand extended toward you, "May I?"
You meet his gaze, and without hesitation, you placed your hand in his. He guided you into a dance, your hands gliding above your heads, arms brushing against one another before he took your hand and spun you around. The dance was graceful, almost effortless, as if you had rehearsed it a thousand times. With every step, your heartbeat quickened, but not from the dance—it was from being so close to him. The warmth of his hand in yours, the way his eyes never left your face, made you realize that your feelings for him had grown deeper than just childhood friendship. You had always known he was special to you.
As the song drew to a close, Seonghwa led you into the final move of the dance. With a smooth dip, he cradled you gently in his arms, your faces inches apart. His eyes searched yours, and in that moment, you saw the same affection reflected back at you.
“I like you; you know?” he whispered, his voice steady, filled with sincerity. Seeing you in the arms of your partner, just a minute, he might not like the words will come out and guarantee himself inside the principal's office. So, with a small courage, he had spoken those words that he hid for a long time.
Before you could respond, he pressed a soft kiss to your forehead, sealing the confession with a tender gesture.
The dance ended, but the moment lingered in the air, and you knew that despite everything—his popularity, the attention from others—his heart belonged to you, just as yours did to him.
Smiling softly, running your fingers on his jaw, tapping his forehead with your forefinger, "Took you long enough, Seonghwa."

choi san had always been a loving soul.
growing up in a loving and caring family, he had been taught how to give and receive affection well. always caring for his friends and family, willing to do anything to make them happy. he was quick to forgive and forget, quick to assume the best of everyone’s intentions. to put it quite plainly, for many years of his life, he only saw the best in people.
but being so loving had its consequences.
he fell in love too quickly.
at the age of 18, he was sat in his literature class in high school. the teacher hadn’t showed up yet, the students scattered around the class and chatting idly. his seat was by the window, on the third row. the weather was nice, sunny with a cool breeze. he remembered this day vividly.
he remembered this day so vividly because it was the day he met jang sooyeon.
though, at first he knew her as ms jang for she walked in with the principle, introducing herself as their new teacher. absently, he noted she was very pretty, and awfully young to be a teacher. as she walked between the desks to hand out worksheets, his gaze was drawn to a dainty, silver anklet.
it all started slowly; lingering looks and touches that rested on his shoulder for a beat too long. ms jang somehow always found him when he was alone. sometimes she’d offer a book recommendation in the library, other times she’d ask him to stay behind after class for a little chat. one day he walked in with a black notebook, poems and prose scribbled inside. noticing the little book, she asked to take a look inside. but he refused; looking at his writings felt like looking into the deepest corners of his mind, little scraps of his soul etched on the paper with his crappy ball-point pen.
but, somehow, at some point, she ended up inside it, nose practically pressed to the ink as she made sense of the inner workings of his brain. though the compliments were nice, he didn’t think too much of them. but looking back, he should have known better.
over time, her little actions and words had his heart swelling with an all-too-familiar feeling. he found himself seeking her out and soon enough, they met up outside of class, outside of school. first under the excuse of san needing tutoring (a pathetic excuse as his writings exceeded the skills of many), but soon he found himself spending time with her outside of school just because he wanted to. making excuses in the first place was stupid, everyone around them knew there was something going on.
he let her in, he cared for her and let her care for him, showing her parts of himself no one else had seen before. for that year, all his thoughts were occupied by her. his love for her grew incessantly, in ways one could almost call obsessive. he wrote about her in his notebook, learned how to bake so he could make her her favourite treats. he showed her his sanctuary, a little clearing tucked away in a forest of his hometown.
he remembered laying on the grass beside her, staring up at the clouds swirling high above. they talked but he couldn’t remember about what. when you were with a loved one the subject of conversations mattered little compared to being in their presence. he remembered her sitting up, twisting herself to look down at him with a soft smile.
looking back at that moment, he realised her smiles never quite reached her eyes.
still, he was so infatuated with her that he couldn’t see beyond rose tinted glasses.
time seemed to slow and he felt their surrounding fade away as he looked into her eyes, realising she was slowly leaning closer. hands clenching with anticipation, he hitched himself up on his elbows. but before he could kiss her a small reflection glinted in the sunlight and his eyes were drawn down to her ankle. the silver anklet glittering in the light, taunting him.
he knew it was a bad idea. he knew he shouldn’t have said anything. but he still looked up at her and quietly asked her to take off the anklet. when she asked why, that should’ve prompted him to come up with some stupid excuse.
but he loved her. he loved her so much that his heart betrayed his safety, previously unspoken secrets tumbling from his lips as he told her about his true identity. without hesitation, he admitted what he was. a bloodsucking vampire.
at first she didn’t believe him or, more accurately, she made him think she didn’t believe him. but his face stayed serious as his eyes begged to be believed, so she tossed the anklet in a seemingly random direction. and they kissed and they kissed and they loved and they held each other until the sun bade them farewell and plunged bellowed the horizon. when they got up to part ways, he missed the sinister grin on her face as she retrieved her anklet.
and she knew she caught him in her trap.
jang sooyeon was many things. calculative, determined, possibly a bit sadistic. but a fool was not one of them. from the moment she had set eyes on choi san, she knew she found what she was looking for in that school. every progression, every action, in their relationship had been carefully planned out to get her to where she was now—her back to his chest as he leaned against a tree stump in their little hideout.
she rested her head against the left side of his chest, just over his heart, staring ahead at the blades of grass and fallen leaves that danced in the autumn wind. a silence settled over them before she whispered a questions.
“sannie… would you do anything for me?”
“yes, of course. why do you ask?”
“but how far are you willing to go?”
he should’ve listened to his brain, the warning signals blaring at her words. but his heart—oh, his naïve, foolish, utterly hypnotised heart—begged and screamed for him to draw her closer.
“i’d do anything for you.”
“if someone bothered me, would you… would you kill them for me?”
he paused at that, glancing down at her. an almost hesitant “yes, anything for you, my love,” falling from his pursed lips.
all things considered, he should’ve seen it all coming. everything after that conversation felt like a blur up until his next memory. it was the first time he killed someone.
she had told him this man had been bothering her, insisting to spend a night with him despite her saying she was already seeing someone. though he was slightly irked by the smile that threatened to force itself onto her features as he agreed to take care of the man, he was more focused on the fact that another man dared to even look at her with such little respect.
so, after some digging, he found himself trailing behind the same man on a dark street. hood up, eyes fixated on him, making sure not to alert him. san’s eyes briefly moved to the entrance of an upcoming alley, deciding that would be the perfect opportunity.
ten minutes later, he walked out the other side of the alley. the corpse of the man left leaning against one of the cold walls, smothered to death.
had there been any reason that didn’t involve her, he may have felt some remorse. but he was convinced what he was doing was right, keeping her safe from this potentially dangerous man.
and then she let him drink her blood.
when she offered it, he was surprised and declined, telling her that he never expected anything in return for what he had done. but she insisted, pulling up her sleeve and baring her wrist. what more suitable way to pay a vampire than in blood?
when the first drop of her blood entered his mouth, he knew he wouldn’t be able to enjoy bagged blood ever again.
after that it became a cycle. he’d get rid of someone for her and then he’d go back to her apartment and she’d let him suck a few drops of blood from her. his once pure heart was slowly stained by something darker, despite how justified he was made to believe his actions were. he lost count of how many people he went after, but he knew it was slowly driving him to insanity. and even though she convinced him he was in the right for killing those people, his heart kept him awake most nights with those dark memories.
and choi san always listened to his heart.
he doesn’t remember when he brought his concerns up to sooyeon, but he remembers they were somewhere dark. it may have been during the period where he refused to go home. he had brought her to his house for dinner and as soon as she left, his parents wouldn’t stop giving him warnings and telling them that they sensed something dark in her. this led to an argument, ending with him slamming the front door and avoiding them for a month to move in with the love of his life.
he should’ve listened to them.
the tv illuminated the the room as he sat on the couch. he heard her footsteps before she emerged from the narrow hallway of the one bedroom apartment. a towel was wrapped around her hair and her fresh clothes clung to her body in areas that hadn’t been dried properly. he looked at her, trying not to get distracted by the way she sat beside him and pressed herself into his hold. he inched away so he could see her better, the changing light of the television illuminating her wonderful features.
“listen, i… i wanna ask you something…”
“is there something wrong, sannie?”
he paused for a long moment, trying to gather his thoughts.
“don’t you think all the killing is unnecessary? i mean, you know i love you… i don’t want to have to do all this just to prove that.”
“oh, but, sannie… these are people that deserve it, they’ve hurt me. would you really want someone to hurt me and get away with it?”
“no! no, of course not. that’s not what i meant. it’s just- it’s too much for me. we love each other, don’t we? we shouldn’t worry about what anyone else does. people bother me, too, but i don’t ask you to kill them.”
“you think that? you think we love each other?”
“well, yes…”
a sharp feeling of dread tugged at his intestine.
“i don’t love you, san. you’re a monster. how could i ever love someone like you?”
she said more, but he didn’t hear any of it. he could feel every fibre of his soul being torn apart; could feel his ribcage being ripped open to reveal that naïve, foolish and utterly hypnotised heart of his. a sharp pain in his chest had him tearing up as if she’d dug a knife into his heart and twisted it in his chest. but he knew she was right. he was a monster and it was a fitting punishment for such a monster.
to want someone so much—to have them in your grasp—and knowing they will never love you the way you love them.
the days after that melted together into a dull pile of memories. he returned home but didn’t tell anyone what had happened, locking himself in his bedroom and skipping meals. he sat on his bed and cried and cried and cried and cried until he could no longer feel anything. his heart had nearly gone numb and he came to the realisation that he would’ve much preferred it if she wrapped a silver chain around his neck and strangled the life out of him.
one time he found himself staring into the mirror, terrified at the person she had turned him into. every time he looked at himself, the same words repeated in his head. monster, monster, monster, you fucking murderer. and he knew it was true. he stared at his reflection, wondering if he had changed enough to turn into a new person, enough for it to be considered some kind of suicide of his persona.
he hated himself. he should’ve listened to everyone, he should’ve listened to his brain. not his no-good, useless heart. if it could even be called that anymore.
when the urge to drink blood lured him out of his bedroom, he found himself in the kitchen opening a bag of a-positive. the familiar liquid slipped down his throat and his hunger was satiated, but not for long.
that night they found out about the blood intolerance, sat in a vampiric doctor’s office after he collapsed and was rushed to the clinic. he thought he was dying, barely hanging onto conscience as his father picked up his limp body from the kitchen floor and placed him in the car. he woke up on one of those hospital beds, his parents, older sister, and his doctor standing around him. the doctor explained that if vampires only drank one blood type for many months, in rare cases it could lead to the body being unable to process all the other types.
something clicked inside his mind. she had killed him. killed his heart, killed his body, killed his soul. she was a murderer, too. he was merely just a shell of who he used to be. the scraps left of his heart and soul screamed for revenge. he had already killed so many people, this was just one more. maybe when she was finally gone, he’d be able to live life normally.
he thought it was odd, really. just a week before he loved her more than anything in the universe, and then he was creeping through her hallways with a knife clutched in his hand. a violent end to his devotion.
the floorboards of the hallway creaked as he crept his way to her bedroom. with a random kitchen knife gripped so tightly in his hands his knuckles turned white, his breathing went shallow. he revised his plan over and over and over again, replaying it in his head like a broken record. nothing could go wrong in the next few minutes, he couldn’t afford any mistake no matter how small. a droplet of sweat melted its way down his forehead and got caught on his brow, he wiped it away with the back of his hand and finally stopped in front of the door, open just a crack.
suddenly, he felt as if his throat closed up; one of the telltale signs of his body’s reluctance to commit this heinous crime. he should be used to it by now, but somehow it felt different when it was the woman he imagined a future with. he swallowed repeatedly, praying the dry tightness of his throat would be eased by his saliva. it took him several more minutes to muster up the courage and wrap his hand around the metal doorknob, pushing the door in as slowly as he possibly could and wincing quietly when the hinges whined
she seemed to be fast asleep, light snores resounding through the spacious bedroom. much like how he revised his plan repeatedly in his head, so did his head telling him to stop. he let his disparity take over as he silently shut the door behind him and walked to the bed like a predator stalking his prey. as his gaze settled on her, a fleeting sense of remorse could’ve swept through him had he been able to see her face, peaceful in her slumber. but, alas, there was nothing to be seen except a silhouette dimly lit by the moonlight beyond the windows.
she didn’t make as single sound as the first stab went straight to the base of her neck, blood pooling around the knife as he sliced through the throat. not a single sound gave away the fact that she was now dead.
he pulled out the knife, the blade suddenly feeling so much heavier in his hold as crimson liquid dripped from the metal and stained anything it landed on. the faint smell of iron wafted into his nose and shot straight to his brain, unleashing some kind of primal urge to continue stabbing at the body despite knowing she was dead. he sunk the knife into any part he could reach—her arms, chest, stomach, shoulders.
once his mind cleared and his rationality returned to him, all he could see was dark splatters surrounding him, staining the bed, her body and his own hands. bile rose to his throat but he swallowed down the bitter taste quickly, stumbling back and dropping the dagger, the ringing of the metal crashing against the wooden floor resonating through his ears. tears pricked at his eyes as he gasped for air. the squelching of the blade as he sank it into her flesh would forever haunt him, echoing through the corridors of his scarred mind.
as he looked away from his bloodstained hands and at her body, he found her head slumped in his direction, lifeless eyes lit by the moon staring right at him. san whipped his body around; he couldn’t stand looking at her any longer. the regret crashed over him like a wave, leaving an icy trail of what-ifs. what if she had been awake? would he have still gone through with it? and yet, as he thought through all the possibilities, he couldn’t help but feel a slight weight lifted off his shoulder.
he made quick work of getting rude of the corpse. wrapping a sheet around her and carrying her out of the building. it was just past midnight, not a chance anyone would be awake. he ducked into an alley and rolled her out of the sheet, placing her in the shadows where she wouldn’t be found. even if she did, it would just look like some angry drunk had done it. those cases were often dismissed by the police. he returned to her apartment and changed the bedsheets.
when the news of her death got out, his family moved away so he could finish the last two months of high school away from the pitiful and prying eyes of his classmates. he hated the way they looked at him when he walked in the halls. he wanted to scream at them.
stop looking at me like that!
like i’m a fucking tragedy.
stop it.
stop fucking looking at me.
after all of those events. he was sure life would never return to his numb limbs. until he met jung wooyoung and kang yeosang in his first year of university. he had pushed them away at first, but upon finding out they had something in common, he accepted their friendship.
with their friendship came five others; kim hongjoong, park seonghwa, jeong yunho, song mingi, choi jongho. they proved him wrong, he could feel alive again. at least with them. it was a rather quick bond, considering themselves a little clan. but as much as he adored them, he knew he would never love some like he had loved sooyeon ever again.
until he was proven wrong yet again. from the moment he met you, he came to the conclusion that there was a reason that old saying—never say never—came to be. don’t get him wrong, it wasn’t love at first sight. but he felt something, a warmth in his heart that he hadn’t felt in years.
he wanted you for his own safekeeping. he wanted your hair to slip through his fingers. he wanted that voice of yours to whisper in his ear, under the bluish moon. he wanted you to rip out his heart and carry it with you in a little box under lock and key.
and as he looked at you now, sitting on the couch with wooyoung and yunho as you laughed and squealed as you played some game with them on the tv, he wondered. he wondered if you’d hold his tainted fingers and kiss his lips. he wondered if you’d love him and his scars and his sickening skin. if you’d love his weak heart and guilty soul. would you love a monster?
when you left, he felt his insides light on fire as you pressed a fluttering kiss to his cheek when you passed him in the kitchen, when no one was looking. since that night in your bedroom, he knew he was doomed.
seonghwa joined him in the kitchen to wash the dishes. san but his bottom lip, trying to desperately swallow down a question that lingered on his mind for weeks.
“you want to say something,” seonghwa spoke over his shoulder, a smile evident in his voice, “say it, sannie.”
“do you…” he sighed and leaned against the counter. “will we ever tell her?”
god, he wanted to know how you’d react. would you embrace them and tell them it’s okay? he wanted to be loved by you so badly his hands trembled.
the question made seonghwa pause, glancing at him and turning off the sink. he took his time drying his hands, eyes turned to the ground. he sighed, walking over to san and placing an affectionate hand on his shoulder, giving it a light squeeze.
“she’s special, and i think she’ll come to know about us. but we can’t risk rushing anything. all in due time, san, all in due time.”
with one more squeeze, he dropped his hand and left the kitchen.

With that being said, most of the chapter is still fun and fluffy, and as always, I hope you enjoy. 💜

Wooyoung came to your side at the decorative table that Seonghwa had by the Christmas tree, carrying a plastic bag of assorted candies. Some of them were the usual Christmas themed ones, like Christmas Hershey kisses and M&Ms. But there were a few you didn’t recognize.
You pulled out a box that had a small tray of what looked like Neapolitan ice cream on it. Next to it was a kid with a green hat eating some of it. The word “Duvalin” was written in big yellow letters above the candy and the kid.
“What’s this?” You asked, looking over the box again. Wooyoung looked up from where he was laying out the other candy in fancy glass plates and bowls.
“Oh, Duvalin. It’s kinda like pudding, but thicker.” He took the box from you and opened it, offering one to you. “Here, try it.”
You took the small tray from him and peeled off the plastic. Like the box, it had the three flavors of “pudding” laid next to each other. You were about to dive in when Wooyoung offered you a small stick.
“If Eomma sees you eat it like that, he’ll have a heart attack.”
You looked over Wooyoung’s shoulder, seeing Seonghwa in the kitchen working on setting the food up in the kitchen. He paid no mind to either of you, he was busy making sure everything was set up for when people would be arriving.
(Even though they wouldn’t be here for another hour)
You still took the spoon from Wooyoung and scooped up a generous portion of the three flavors before you took a bite. And it tasted like Neopalitan ice cream, as you expected. But it was sweeter, and the chocolate tasted more like Nutella.
Wooyoung went back to his chore when he saw you nod and continue to happily eat the candy. “My friend introduced me to that, and a few others.”
“Do I know this friend?” You asked, going back for another scoop.
“No, she’s from high school. She went to another college, so you’ve never met her.”
“Is she coming to the party?”
“I asked her.” Wooyoung poured the Christmas M&Ms into an intricate glass bowl before he put the lid on top. “But apparently she’s with her own family right now, and she said that they probably would let her leave.”
You were befuddled at the idea of an adult visiting their family would suddenly have their rights revoked like that. But then you realized that your parents probably would’ve done the same to them if you still talked to them.
“I’ll introduce you someday.” Wooyoung looked up at you and smiled. “You’d like her.”
“Wooyoung!” Seonghwa called from the kitchen. “Please come here, I can’t hold all these things at once!”
Wooyoung quickly ran off to help Seonghwa, and you were left there by the front door with your cup of Duvalin. You were surprised when you felt a little hurt that you weren’t asked to help.
As you stood there slightly stunned, there was a knock at the door.
You stared at the door like a deer in headlights for a few moments before you finally shook yourself. Just answer the door, you thought, but you couldn’t. You were stopped by questions you didn’t have answers to. Questions that needed to be answered.
How did you introduce yourself? You and Seonghwa hadn’t discussed if you were going to tell his family that you were “together.”
But if you didn’t tell them now, and just introduced yourself as Wooyoung’s friend, when would Seonghwa tell the others? How would they take it after knowing they’d been sold a lie?
How would they accept the relationship at all? Would they? Would any of them approve of a relationship between someone much older and younger?
What if-
“Why are you frozen?” Wooyoung asked, walking past you to the door. You shook yourself out of your thoughts as he went to open the door. You did your best to swallow back the anxiety and put on your best fake smile.
Then you remembered your cup of Duvalin, and you quickly put it aside on the candy table.
Wooyoung pulled open the door, and his eyes lit up with stars. “Hongjoong!” He threw his arms around the man standing there, who returned the hug with one arm, a warm smile on his lips.
“Hi Young-ah,” he said, and his voice was higher than you expected, but he sounded safe. Even just from that, you knew this man was safe.
Wooyoung pulled back and led Hongjoong into the house, where he stopped and smiled at you. Now you got a better look at the older man, who wasn’t much taller than Wooyoung.
He wore a flowy white shirt and black dress pants underneath a brown fur coat. The top of his shirt left open to show off a little bit of his chest. His blond hair was combed back away from his face, but there were a few strands left out to frame his face.
You’d be lying if you said you didn’t blush a little.
“I’ve never seen you before,” Hongjoong said as he slipped his shoes off, looking at you as he spoke. Anxiety pumped inside you as you tried to figure out the correct words to introduce yourself.
“Oh, I’m Wooyoung’s friend,” you said simply, adding your name afterwards, flashing the best smile you could. Hongjoong nodded as he slid the coat off his shoulders, a warm smile still on his face. His comfort and ease made you relax a little.
“I’m Hongjoong.”He bowed to you, which left you a little confused before you remembered to return the gesture. Hongjoong came back up and smiled at you. “We’ll talk more in a moment, I just need to talk to Seonghwa first.” He turned to Wooyoung the next second. “Is he in the kitchen?”
“Yeah, he’s dealing with the food.” Wooyoung was holding onto Hongjoong’s coat, looking for the moment he could yank it away. You bit your lip to keep the laughter in.
Hongjoong caught it too and smiled, pulling away the coat. “Thank you, I’ll go talk to him.” Wooyoung pouted as he watched Hongjoong hang his coat up in the closet before he went to the kitchen.
“I wanted to do that,” he whined, and you finally laughed.
“It’s a jacket, Woo.”
“And I wanna steal it.”
“Good luck with that!” Hongjoong called from the kitchen. Both you and Wooyoung burst into laughter at that.
Not long later, you and Wooyoung were setting out appetizers on the dining table when there was another knock on the door. Wooyoung ran over to open the door again, and there were two men instead of one this time.
The blond one was only slightly taller than the brown haired one. They were dressed similarly to Hongjoong, but they wore knitted sweaters instead. The blond’s was cream colored, and the brown haired one’s was black.
They both looked up at you and smiled. “Wooyoung, who’s this?” The blond one asked, motioning to you. Wooyoung looked over his shoulder and waved you over, to which you smiled back as you walked over. Wooyoung put his hand on your shoulder as you stood next to him.
“This is my friend, they came with me this year.”
“You’re not spending Christmas with your family?” The brown haired one asked, sliding his coat off. The blond haired one took it and started putting both their coats away, but not without a disapproving look. Wooyoung’s hand tightened on your shoulder.
You panicked for a moment, because you expected this question, but you weren’t sure how to answer it. You didn’t need to tell all Seonghwa’s friends all the reasons why you didn’t talk with your parents, but you knew some people would still press for answers.
But what came out was simple and to the point:
“No, I’ve been with Wooyoung and Seonghwa since Winter Break started.”
The brown haired one looked like he wanted to ask more questions, but the blond grabbed his hand and squeezed, giving you a sweet smile. “Well, we’re glad to have you.” You smiled back and nodded in thanks. “I’m Yunho, this is Mingi.”
Mingi smiled now and nodded too. “Or you can just call us “uncle”, since that’s what Wooyoung calls us.”
Looking at the two men, they looked nothing like Seonghwa, and Wooyoung looked nothing like them. You deduced that they were uncles in the “friends with your parents” way. You just nodded, knowing you very well might forget their names.
Your eyes drifted down and you noticed a band of gold on Mingi’s left hand. Your eyes flicked back to the men’s joined hands and saw a matching one on Yunho’s finger.
To be honest, you could sense it from the moment you saw them.
“Eomma’s in the kitchen,” Wooyoung blurted, breaking the short silence.
“Alright, we’ll go see him,” Yunho said as he smiled at Wooyoung, ruffling his dark hair. He added a short sentence in Korean as he and Mingi made their way to the kitchen, which made Wooyoung shoot something back as he laughed.
“What was that?” You asked as Wooyoung turned back to you.
“He told me to behave and not drive Eomma crazy.”
“And you said?”
“I said no promises.”
“I don’t expect any less from you.”
You both burst into laughter all over again. The four men in the kitchen couldn’t help but smile at the lovely sound.
“Wooyoung’s never brought a friend home for this long,” Mingi said as he leaned back against the counter, crossing his arms. “Are you sure they’re “just a friend”, or are they more?”
Seonghwa bit the inside of his cheek, knowing the obvious answer, but he wasn’t ready to tell his friends he was involved with someone about half his age. Even though Wooyoung was okay with it, the relationship itself was still looked down on.
His friends hadn’t judged his relationships, his lifestyle, the way he dressed, or his job. His friends had been incredibly supportive of him, and Wooyoung too.
But he wasn’t ready to tell people yet.
“No, those two aren’t together,” Seonghwa said, leaning on the kitchen island on his arms.
“How are you so sure?”
“Because Wooyoung wouldn’t be able to keep it hidden.”
The four men laughed to themselves. But with that revelation, anxiety prickled across Seonghwa’s skin. Hopefully Wooyoung wouldn’t accidentally let anything slip about you and him.
“He can’t keep secrets to save his life,” Hongjoong added, leaning back on the wall, his arms crossed over his chest. “Once when we were still dating, I told Wooyoung I had a surprise for Seonghwa, and we hardly made it five minutes before Wooyoung said something.”
“Did he outright say it?” Yunho asked, leaning against the counter next to the sink. Mingi was next to him, his arm around the other’s waist.
“No, he didn’t directly tell him, but it was obvious enough that Seonghwa figured it out.”
Seonghwa smiled as he thought about it. Hongjoong had surprised him with a date night, where they’d go to a restaurant and then the newest Star Wars movie at the time.
Wooyoung, who was coming with, couldn’t stop talking about the movie for the rest of the time between when he got home with Hongjoong and the time Seonghwa got his surprise.
Hongjoong stopped telling Wooyoung his plans for surprises after that.
“I still enjoyed it,” Seonghwa smiled at Hongjoong, to which Hongjoong returned it.
Sometimes, Seonghwa considered trying again. Opening the door back up and seeing if they could make it work one more time.
But Hongjoong had found a girlfriend a year prior. And now Seonghwa had you.
The four looked towards the living room when they heard Wooyoung’s voice again, along with a few new ones. Seonghwa stood up and excused himself to go see Wooyoung’s friends, two of whom he knew already.
But as Seonghwa reached the front door, he met the one he was unfamiliar with. He was taller than Wooyoung by a few inches, with broad shoulders and massive arms. He stretched out the material of his dress shirt thin when he put his arms around Wooyoung to hug him.
He had dark, slicked back hair, with sharp facial features, and eyes that could kill.
Honestly, he was incredibly intimidating.
But then he watched you and Wooyoung take turns hugging him, and all the intimidation melted away. He spoke brightly, with his dark eyes turning to little slits when he smiled, and little dimples on his cheeks.
“Wooyoung, who’s this?” Seonghwa asked as he walked up to his son.
You looked up and ducked out to talk to Yeosang and Jongho as they were putting away their coats, but all of you were watching the three of them out of the corner of your eye.
“Do you think he knows?” Jongho whispered, in reference to Seonghwa knowing about Wooyoung and San.
“How could he not?” Yeosang whispered back, side eyeing the two boys. “It’s not like they’re very good at keeping the ‘secret’.”
You and Yeosang tried to stifle the giggle that threatened to come out by covering your mouths, but Wooyoung heard it, and shot you both a dirty glare before he turned back to Seonghwa with a smile.
“Eomma, this is San. San, this is my mom, Seonghwa.” San smiled brightly at Seonghwa, his eyes turning to slits again before he gave a small bow. Seonghwa returned it, as he began to see his son’s taste more and more.
And he was approving of the man he chose.
“Thank you for letting us come to the party,” San said as he came back up.
“Of course, you’re always welcome here.” Seonghwa put his hand on San’s shoulder, and that was the moment that San realized that Seonghwa knew.
As if Seonghwa couldn’t tell from how San’s arm was still around Wooyoung’s waist, or how Wooyoung had his arm on San’s shoulder. The way Wooyoung looked at San with stars in his eyes and the sweetest smile.
“I trust you with my son,” he said softly before he pulled back.
Wooyoung’s eyes went wide before his face turned tomato red. San’s cheeks began to turn red and he looked away, his arm tightening around Wooyoung. Seonghwa still just smiled as you were giggling with Yeosang and Jongho by the door.
The tension in the air disappeared. It was warm instead, as it should be on Christmas.
And then Wooyoung interrupted.
“How did you know?!”
All of you burst into laughter. The three men in the kitchen were laughing too.
With all the joy and laughter, with the happy arrival of your friends, with meeting the uncles, you managed to relax. In the comfort of your friends, everything seemed bright and happy.
So much so that you almost forgot that the night was far from over.
Tumblr media
Seonghwa had excused himself to change into something more fitting for the party. And when he came back, you nearly fell to your knees.
He wore a strapless, floor length, red velvet dress. The bodice was similar to a corset, with jewels over where the boning would be, and all over the waist line and top of the dress. The skirt was form fitting, hugging his body just right and showing off everything.
He’d done his hair and makeup too, letting the dramatic looks out for once. He’d curled his hair, but put half of it into a ponytail, letting the rest fall free.
He’d worn red sparkly eyeshadow with large eyeliner wings, with glossy red lips to match and a little bit of pink on his cheeks.
He looked at you with his eyes half closed and smiled softly before he went to greet some of the guests that had arrived when he was gone.
You could’ve shattered the glass of the drink you were holding.
You wanted nothing more than to grab him and hold him so tight, to kiss his stupid shiny lips and tear the gorgeous dress off his body. Wooyoung was giggling beside you as you loosened your death drip on your glass.
“What are you laughing at?” you spat, looking at him instead.
“You, idiot. You look like you’re about to explode.”
You smacked his shoulder, which only made him giggle more. “Maybe I am,” you mumbled before you took a sip of your drink,
Wooyoung had changed too, but he just wore a big blue and white striped sweater with nice pants. You were wearing something similar, valuing comfort over fashion tonight. Seeing Seonghwa’s outfit now, it felt like you both were underdressed.
The party had been amazing otherwise. Wooyoung had introduced you to the other aunts, uncles, and cousins that had come to the party. Thankfully, most of them didn’t ask why you weren’t with your own family.
Wooyoung dragged you along to talk to Hongjoong, Yunho, and Mingi as well, which you were hoping to do anyway.
You hung onto Hongjoong’s every word as he talked about the many artists he’d worked with, the songs he produced, and he even let you and Wooyoung hear sneak peeks of some unreleased projects.
Yunho and Mingi were both lawyers at the same firm, but they both insisted that they’d rather talk about anything else than their job on Christmas. So you talked about a great deal of things, and even eventually asked how they met each other.
The two gave each other a smile before they looked back at you. “We were on opposite sides of one case,” Yunho began, with a storyteller type tone, far off and dreamy. “We ended up meeting each other after it was settled, and the rest is history.”
“Who won the case?” Wooyoung asked, already knowing the answer, but wanting to hear the answer again anyway.
Yunho sighed as Mingi smiled proudly. “Mingi did.”
Mingi reached over and squeezed his hand. “It wasn’t an easy win.”
“Of course not, I worked my ass off for that case!”
You and Wooyoung couldn’t help but devolve into giggles like little kids.
But for most of the time, you stayed with San, Yeosang, and Jongho. You all naturally gravitated back towards each other when you were pulled away, so you all ended up sticking together. Laughing, yelling, messing with all of Wooyoung’s family, stealing the food.
Then Seonghwa came back and nearly turned you into a puddle in front of everyone.
You were trying to clear the redness from your face, Wooyoung still giggling beside you, when you heard a knock at the door.
The part you’d forgotten about. The catch to everything. The rain for the parade.
You almost didn’t hear it over the chatter of the party, but Wooyoung definitely heard it. His face instantly fell and body went rigid.
You put your drink down and grabbed Wooyoung’s hand. He shook himself out of his frozen state to look at you, and you saw that scared little boy again. The same one from those weeks ago when he opened up to you about the villain who was on the other side of the door.
You’d promised him many weeks ago that he wouldn’t be alone. You’d be by his side, you wouldn’t let him go through it alone. Especially not now.
“I’ll go with you,” you said softly, squeezing his hand. Wooyoung squeezed your hand back.
“Okay,” he mumbled, staring at the floor, his shoulders drooping, his hands growing slick.
You knew this feeling all too well. This internal battle. This anxiety that threatened to consume you completely. You began to feel your heart pounding against your ribs. You were hoping you’d have more time before you had to confront something like this again.
But you’d do it for Wooyoung. You’d shove your fear aside to support Wooyoung.
You walked with him to the front door. You kept your fingers laced with his as he hesitated to open the door. You squeezed his hand again, and he squeezed back.
You could hear your heartbeat in your head now. Breathing was growing more difficult.
You both took a deep, long breath. And then the door was open.
At first glance, she didn’t look like much. She was shorter then Wooyoung, about your height, with long dark hair done in a braid down her shoulder, with a dark green knee length dress.
But everyone knows this song and dance: Looks can be deceiving.
“Wooyoung!” The woman squealed, throwing her arms out to hug him tightly. Wooyoung used his free arm to hug her back, still keeping his hand locked with yours. “Oh, I’ve missed you so much! It’s been months!”
“Yeah, it’s been a while,” Wooyoung said flatly, patting her back.
The woman hugged him a few seconds too long before she finally pulled back and came inside the house. “Oh, who’s this?” She asked, her tone teasing, clearly hinting at more as she saw your joined hands. Instinctively, you wanted to pull your hand back and tell her it’s not what she thought.
But you shoved that aside as you just smiled and squeezed his hand. “I’m his friend. I wanted to spend Christmas with him this year.”
“Not with your own family?” She cocked an eyebrow as she looked at Wooyoung, as if he’d somehow have the answer. He just looked at you.
You could’ve said a lot. You were already thinking of venomous retorts you could throw at her. Her, who you knew despite her pretty face and sweet voice, was exactly like the people you’d escaped years before.
But all you said was: “Nope.”
Wooyoung’s mother blinked in confusion, expecting more, but when she realized you weren’t going to say anything else, she forced a smile. “Alright, well, I hope you’ve had a good time with him.”
“I have,” you said simply, giving her the same fake smile she gave you.
You were already growing exhausted of this facade. Your heart was pounding so hard, you could hear it in your head. Your hands were slowly growing slick.
She simply nodded before she bowed only her head. You returned the gesture. “My name is Hajoon. Yours?”
You gave her your name. Begrudgingly.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you,” Hajoon said dismissively before she turned back to Wooyoung. But you stayed beside Wooyoung, holding his hand that was tightly gripping yours.
“Woo, honey,” she cooed, reaching up to hold Wooyoung’s cheek. It took everything in him to not flinch and not move away from her hand. “You haven’t answered me in months. Is everything okay?”
“Yeah, everything’s fine,” he said. He shifted his weight around and swallowed, his throat bobbing. “I’ve just been busy this semester.”
“Aww, my poor baby.” Hajoon pouted. “You can always ask me if you need help, you know.”
“I know, but I have help already.” Wooyoung raised his hand which was joined with yours. “If I didn’t have their help, I would’ve been kicked out a long time ago.”
Hajoon looked at you as you looked away, a blush creeping into your cheeks. He was giving you a little too much credit, but it wasn’t a complete lie. He did need your help sometimes, and you were willing to help.
“Isn’t that sweet?” Hajoon gushed with a big smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “I’m glad you have help, baby, but I’ll still be here if you need it.”
Wooyoung nodded once. “Okay, I’ll keep that in mind.”
Hajoon stayed silent for a moment, but when she realized Wooyoung had nothing else to say, she just nodded too.
She hugged him again, and like before, Wooyoung just patted her back with one hand. She pulled back and pressed a kiss to his cheek before she let go. “I’ll go say hi to everyone else, and then we’ll talk more, okay?”
Wooyoung mumbled an “okay” as she walked away. As soon as she was far enough away, he rubbed his cheek with the sleeve of his sweater.
You let out a huge sigh of relief as you finally let go of Wooyoung’s hand. You both wiped your hands off on your clothes before you turned to each other.
“That was exhausting,” you said as you watched Hajoon make her way through the people with that goddamn fake smile.
“Exactly.” Wooyoung took a deep breath before he hung his head. “I just hope she doesn’t start anything.”
“I’ll be here.” You rubbed his shoulder. “You’re not alone.” He still didn’t look up at you, but he nodded.
She took everything out of him. It was only a little over a minute, but Hajoon just being here exhausted Wooyoung. You felt it too. The exhaustion from just being stressed that this person might do something, from keeping up the mask that you tolerate this person.
Your heart ached when you saw it. But it was a different ache. It was painful. It hurt so badly.
You pulled Wooyoung into a hug and held him tight. He hugged you back instantly, leaning his head on your shoulder.
“You’re not alone,” you said softly, rubbing his back. Wooyoung nodded again. You couldn’t see it, but he was fighting tears.
You’d say it until you couldn’t anymore. You’d be there for him. You’d be at his side tonight.
He wasn’t alone. And he never would be.
Seonghwa saw the two of you locked in the hug and went over, putting his hand on Wooyoung’s back. Wooyoung pulled back and looked up, wiping his eyes.
“If she says anything to you, I’ll take care of her,” Seonghwa said softly. Wooyoung nodded, blinking back the rest of the tears. You reached up and rubbed his arm, leaning your head on his shoulder.
Seonghwa leaned in and pressed a kiss to Wooyoung’s forehead. Wooyoung returned the kiss with one on his cheek before Seonghwa pulled back. “You know, Hongjoong was telling me he had some artists you’d probably like to meet before you go back to college.”
Wooyoung’s face lit up and his smile melted away any of the tension that was there. “Really? Where is he?”
“He’s on the couch, I told him I’d go get you.”
Wooyoung took off running for the couch, leaving you and Seonghwa alone by the door. He looked at you, and you looked at him.
As badly as you wanted to hug him and kiss his Christmas red lips, you’d have to restrain yourself until the party was over.
“Are you enjoying the party otherwise, dear?” Seonghwa asked, his mother voice coming in thickly. You gave him a small smile as you nodded.
“Yeah, I’ve been having fun.”
Seonghwa smiled back. “Good. I hope it stays that way,” he added, trailing off. You could only nod in answer, hoping for the same.
If only you knew.
Tumblr media
It’d been only an hour after Hajoon arrived, and everyone already wanted her gone.
Not because she was fighting with anyone, but because everyone knew her “rot your teeth sweetness” was a bald-faced lie.
She stayed close to Wooyoung most of the time, being touchy and huggy, talking about herself more than talking with him about anything else.
You were with Wooyoung through it all, and you were both bored to tears hearing about her jobs, her friends, her latest ex boyfriend. It’s like she was gossiping like a teenager, but she was in her forties.
It didn’t help that Hajoon was the biggest drinker there. She was already halfway to hammered by the time the first hour was over.
Her conversation topics started becoming more nonsensical and inappropriate. Most of the time, neither you nor Wooyoung had any clue what she was trying to say.
It was mostly tame until Seonghwa came up behind you two. You were sitting on the couch, and Hajoon was sitting in one of the chairs. She scowled as he put his hands on Wooyoung’s shoulders, but he ignored the look, focusing on you two.
“You can eat dinner now if you’re hungry,” Seonghwa said, looking between the two of you. “Some people have already gotten theirs, so it’s not as crowded.”
“Thanks Eomma-” Wooyoung started, then instantly shut his mouth before he spoke again. “Dad.”
But Hajoon heard it.
Wooyoung tried to cover it up and flash a sweet little smile, but his death grip on your hand told you otherwise.
“He’s not your eomma,” Hajoon slurred, her words barely discernible from each other. “You never call me eomma, Wooyoung.” She was trying to be serious, but the slurred speech just made her sound ridiculous.
“Hajoon, go eat something, you’re drunk,” Seonghwa spat, more forcefully than you or Wooyoung expected.
And that was the moment you both realized that it was time. The event you were both mentally preparing for, this was it.
You both braced for Hajoon to spit back at him, but she just stared. But if looked could kill, Seonghwa would’ve been dead and buried.
She kept up that stare for a few seconds before she got up and stormed into the kitchen.
You and Wooyoung looked at each other in bewilderment. Even Seonghwa was stunned.
“Take it and don’t say anything,” you whispered. Wooyoung and Seonghwa both nodded in agreement. Don’t push her, don’t say anything else that might piss her off.
She was already a bomb with the fuse lit. But the length of said fuse wasn’t anything the three of you knew.
“Why don’t you two wait a minute, then go get food, okay?” Seonghwa offered. You and Wooyoung nodded, to which Seonghwa nodded back before he walked away.
The two of you sat in silence the minute you waited to go get food, your hands still interlocked. Why hadn’t Hajoon said anything? It was the perfect excuse for her to go off, but she didn’t. Why? Did she think it wasn’t worth it?
Wooyoung knew her far better than you did (obviously), and he knew that in all Seonghwa and Hajoon’s years of being broken up, she’d always take a chance to start a fight or say something to him that she didn’t need to.
She wasn’t always the instigator though. Sometimes, Seonghwa would start it. If Wooyoung happened to overhear or be present, he’d apologize for it. But the point of the matter is that the two had countless spats over the years.
So why Hajoon stayed silent was a mystery to him and Seonghwa, and you by extension.
You didn’t need to know their history to know that an abusive narcissist loved to fight, especially if they thought they were correct. Especially when she was drunk, no less.
Whatever the reason, it made you both tense for whenever she would actually start something.
You both tried not to think about it as you went to grab food. By that point, you were the last two besides Seonghwa who had to eat. Thankfully, because of Seonghwa’s wonderful planning, there was still plenty of food for you to grab.
You loaded your plates up with as much food as you could, as you both hadn’t eaten for hours. Wooyoung especially was stacking food on top of itself.
“Are you sure you’re gonna eat all that?” You teased. Wooyoung just gave you a sly smirk and said nothing.
You were both ready to make your way back to the couch, but as you were ready to leave the kitchen, San, Yeosang, and Jongho were already at the dining table, calling you both over.
Wooyoung happily went to sit with them, and you were about to follow, but Seonghwa gently grabbed onto your arm. You didn’t even realize he’d come into the kitchen.
You looked up as he pulled you back a little, smiling warmly at you with half closed eyes. “Stay back with me for a second, please? I need some help with something.”
You knew by the look in his eyes that he didn’t actually need anything.
Except for you.
You set your plate on the kitchen counter and let him lead you to the back of the kitchen, to a walk-in pantry, of which Seonghwa pulled you into and closed the door behind him.
“We’re not going to-” You started, but Seonghwa was already shaking his head as he pulled you into his arms.
“No, not now,” he murmured against your hair, holding you tight against his chest. “I just wanted to hold you.” You gladly melted into his arms and hugged him back.
You’d been waiting for a moment where you could sneak off with Seonghwa and be with him for just a few minutes. To be in his arms, to just be you two again away from everyone else. Being around other people and pretending he wasn’t anything to you was torture.
But now you two were alone, and now you were wrapped up in his arms, just like you always wanted to be.
“You look gorgeous,” you said softly. Seonghwa couldn’t help but smile as heat rushed to his cheeks.
“Thank you, jagiya. You look adorable.” You smiled bigger and nuzzled into his chest. His velvet dress felt wonderful against your skin, so soft, just as you imagined it would feel.
You both needed this. Just a couple minutes alone, relaxing in each other's warmth.
You knew you were going to be back in Seonghwa’s bed by the end of the night, but you couldn’t wait that long to hug him again.
You wished you could’ve been by Seonghwa’s side all night. His arm around you while you were pressed against him, leaning on his shoulder. Your gorgeous boyfriend, keeping you with him, showing you off as his cute little partner.
Maybe someday, you’d get there.
You pulled back and looked up at Seonghwa, giving him your own half closed, loving gaze, similar to the one he always gave you. He held you even tighter as he came up to hold the back of your neck to pull you into a soft kiss.
His gloss tasted like cherries.
It was meant to be a soft and quick kiss, but one kiss turned to two, three, four needy ones before you knew it.
Four turned into who knows how many, with you both gripping onto each other desperately, Seonghwa’s tongue pushing it’s way past your lips to deepen the kiss. You were addicted to his soft moans and heavy breaths, the way they were swallowed up by your kisses. You ran your hand down his body to keep them going-
“What the fuck?!”
You both jumped away from each other at the screech, You whipped your head to the door and your heart sunk to your feet.
It was Hajoon.
Seonghwa quickly stepped in front of you and held his arm out to keep you back. “Hajoon, this is none of your-”
But she cut him off, screeching like a wild animal. “You’re disgusting! Forcing yourself on someone your son’s age!”
“He wasn’t forcing-” You tried to interject, but Seonghwa pushed you back a little more as Hajoon continued.
“You couldn’t find anyone else our age to tolerate you, so you’re going after our son’s friends?! Were you just gonna go down the line and take your pick?!”
You reached out and held onto Seonghwa’s hand. It was hard to get air in, like your lungs had shrunk. Your heart felt like it was about to explode. Your clothes were clinging to your body with sweat.
“Hajoon, enough.” Seonghwa’s voice had dropped lower and his head was tilted down, staring at her through his brows. “You don’t know everything-”
“I don’t need to know anything, I can see it all right here!”
“Hajoon-”
“Pretending to be a woman wasn’t enough for you, now you’re a predator?!”
Just like that, the fear disappeared, and white hot anger washed over you.
But as you opened your mouth to tear her to shreds, another voice popped up.
“You do NOT get to call him that.”
Wooyoung stormed up to Hajoon and stood in front of her, staring her down, his eyes dark and devoid of anything else but pure rage.
But she just stared at him with the same anger she had for Seonghwa.
“Oh, so you’re defending this?” She spat, motioning to you and Seonghwa as the this. “You’re okay with your father forcing himself on your friend?!”
Wooyoung’s hands were clenched into fists at his sides, shaking a little. His jaw was clenched tight like a vice.
You’d never seen him more infuriated.
“He’s not forcing himself on anyone,” Wooyoung all but growled out. “You don’t know anything about this, Mom.”
“Why would I need to?! This is wrong! What if I started dating one of your friends, would it still be okay then?” Despite being shorter than Wooyoung, Hajoon still seemed like she was larger. Like an unstoppable force, an immovable object.
Wooyoung stared at her for a few moments, turning the words over in his head before he finally spit them back out at her.
“No, because I wouldn’t want my friends to date someone as bitchy and abusive as you.”
There it was, the spark that finally set off the bomb.
“How dare you?!” Hajoon screamed, then began to sob. Your hands shook with anger as memories came up again. “It’s not true, but you keep saying it! What did I do that was so cruel to you, what made me so abusive?!”
But despite her crying, her begging, her drunken, wild craze, Wooyoung didn’t flinch. There was no sympathy in his eyes. There was nothing.
“Do you really want a list?” He asked flatly. Hajoon wailed again.
“You’re such a liar!” She cried, wiping away some of the crocodile tears off her cheeks. “What made you like this?” She started to reach out to hold his face again. “What happened to my sweet Wooyou-”
He stepped away before she could touch him. Hajoon doubled over as if she’d been punched in the stomach, and she let out a painful sob with it.
You and Seonghwa finally stepped out of the pantry now that you had space to. Everyone was standing in or just outside the kitchen, thanks to Hajoon. Shame washed over you and Seonghwa, but everyone was more focused on Wooyoung and Hajoon.
“You did,” Wooyoung ground out. “YOU happened to me, Mom.” His voice cracked as his eyes filled with tears. “You taught me that screaming at people was a good way to get them to listen, you taught me that apologies don’t matter, you taught me EVERYTHING YOU NEVER want to admit to!”
The tears spilled down his cheeks the more he spoke, until all his words were just sobs and gasps. The scared little Wooyoung was back.
The scared little boy who just wanted to be loved.
But Hajoon didn’t see it. “Wooyoung, I have never-”
“Hajoon,” Seonghwa interrupted, his own voice now shaky. “Leave my house.”
She looked up at him in bewilderment, hoping he wasn’t serious. But he was giving her a similar cold look to the one Wooyoung gave her. But Seonghwa’s was more desperate. More tired.
“Seonghwa-”
“Don’t ever come back.”
You squeezed Seonghwa’s hand. He finally squeezed back.
With one final cry, Hajoon stormed out of the house, pushing past everyone else to grab her things and slam the front door behind her.
No one said a word. The house was filled with a tension so thick, it was suffocating, like it was invading your lungs and forcing out the air.
There was a lot that needed to be said. Looking at everyone’s confused and worried faces, there was an imminent and long conversation that needed to be started, but you didn’t know what to say.
But you looked over at Wooyoung, who’d pulled himself back against the wall with his face covered, trying to stop crying, and you couldn’t stop the tears from spilling over yourself.
You pulled away from Seonghwa and nearly ran to Wooyoung, throwing your arms around him and pulling him into a tight hug. He hugged you back instantly, and you both cried in each other’s arms.
“You did good,” you whispered, not being able to speak any louder.
Wooyoung tightened his arms around you. “I’m a mess.”
“That doesn’t matter.” Your throat closed up and another sob shot from your lips. “You did good, Wooyoung.”
You didn’t know it at the time, but your words meant more to him than you knew. Wooyoung’s heart swelled hearing the words, and thankfully, he believed you. Even if he did look like a mess, he believed you when you said he did good.
Because he did. From the way they spoke, it sounded like Wooyoung had tried to confront Hajoon, or make her see how she hurt him.
But he properly stood up to her this time. Even if she didn’t take a single word of his and think about it, he got it off his chest.
Wooyoung did it for himself.
Hongjoong stepped through the crowd of people and walked over to Seonghwa, and his hands began to tremble.
Seonghwa fully expected criticism from everyone. From not being told up front to how disgusting his current relationship was. Countless lectures and people talking down to him, telling him how wrong he was to pursue someone his son’s age.
But Hongjoong’s eyes were sympathetic, and his body was relaxed. Seonghwa looked behind him, and Yunho and Mingi were at the front of the small crowd, with the same sympathetic look.
San, Yeosang, and Jongho were right behind them. San was looking at Wooyoung, his face contorted into pain like he was being stabbed.
“Do you want to tell us the truth, and not what Hajoon said?” Hongjoong asked, his voice soft. Seonghwa took a shaky breath before he nodded.
“Yes, I’m in a…relationship of sorts with them,” he started, his eyes falling to the floor. “It’s been going on for a few weeks. I didn’t force them into this, everything, I made sure they consented.” Seonghwa’s vision grew blurry as his throat closed up, cutting off his words.
Even as he spoke, he couldn’t get the thoughts out of his head. He couldn’t stop hearing Hajoon’s voice. Predator.
It’d been his fear since the beginning. Isn’t that what he was? An older man pursuing someone much younger? A predator?
“I believe you,” Hongjoong said softly, putting his hand on Seonghwa’s arm, sliding down to hold his hand. “Did you initiate this because they’re younger?”
“No,” Seonghwa instantly spit out. “No, never.” His eyes drifted over to you. “At first, it’s because I found them attractive. But they’re sweet, and funny, helpful, respectful, patient, understanding...” He trailed off and looked back at the ground. “And they didn’t want me as just a perverted sex doll.”
A whimper left his lips as he finished his sentence, his hand coming up to try to keep the rest of the tears inside. Hongjoong’s eyes grew heavier as he held Seonghwa’s hand tighter.
“Then you’re not a predator, Seonghwa. I know you’re not. Please believe me when I say you’re not.”
Seonghwa didn’t want to think he was. He didn’t want to believe he was.
But hearing himself talk about you, and never bring up your age once made him realize it.
He didn’t want you because you were younger. He wanted you for you.
You pulled away from Wooyoung as your crying tapered off. You both wiped your faces off with the sleeves of your sweaters as you turned to Seonghwa.
Neither you nor Wooyoung hesitated to hug him. The tears turned into full blown sobs as he hugged you two back. It was his turn now.
And just like you’d known the night before, you three were together. You were still together.
The ache in your heart was back, all over you, in every part of you. It made you squeeze Seonghwa tighter as you pressed your face back into his velvet gown.
Unbeknownst to you, Seonghwa was feeling it too. But so was Wooyoung.
That moment solidified to you that you really had found a family. A family who cared. A family who would protect you.
A family who loved you.
Tumblr media
Seonghwa closed the door as he said good night to Hongjoong, then turned back to you.
Thankfully, everyone else was mostly accepting of the revelation that you and Seonghwa were in a relationship, but it killed the mood of the party, so everyone instead finished their food, exchanged their gifts, and agreed to call it a night.
A lot of them agreed to help clean up, those being Hongjoong, Yunho, and Mingi, mostly helping clean up the kitchen. You and Wooyoung worked with San, Yeosang, and Jongho to freshen up the living room and dining room.
“You two are really dating?” Yeosang had asked. You just nodded. He looked at Jongho, who looked back at him, and then at you.
“How do you even start that?” Jongho added.
Wooyoung piped up then when he grabbed your shoulder. “When you can’t stop drooling over the other.”
The boys started laughing as you tried to smack Wooyoung, your face burning up remembering your first night. You were grateful that they were accepting too, but now that meant you’d get teased about it endlessly.
But you’d rather take that over no friends at all.
Because it was late by that point, the boys decided to stay the night (and definitely wasn’t because Wooyoung convinced San to stay first), so after clean up was done, Wooyoung took them upstairs to show them to their rooms.
So here you were, alone again with Seonghwa.
“I should’ve been more careful,” Seonghwa said softly. “It wasn’t a very good spot to hide.”
“Don't beat yourself up.” You walked over to him and slipped your arms around his waist to hug him. He hugged you back, holding you tight. “You didn’t know she was going to follow us.”
“I still regret it.”
You knew you wouldn’t be able to convince him otherwise, so you didn’t try. You just squeezed him instead before you looked up at him.
“Let’s go to bed,” you offered. Seonghwa nodded, and held your hand as he led you back down the familiar route to his bedroom.
You quickly changed into an oversized t-shirt and shorts, like you usually did, and were going to wait in bed for Seonghwa to be done.
But you still wanted to be with him. So you went to the bathroom, where he’d already changed out of his gown and into a small pink robe, and was preparing to wash his makeup off.
“I wanna help,” you said softly as you grabbed onto his arm. Seonghwa looked at you and couldn’t help but smile. That might’ve been the most adorable thing you’d done since you’d gotten here.
He sat down on the toilet, and guided you through how to take off his makeup and wash his face before bed. You were gentle in everything you did, going over his face like he was made of glass.
He gratefully leaned against your hand when you held his cheek, smiling in a tired little daze as he thought about how lucky he was to have you.
You, who was so gentle and sweet to him, who wanted to spend so much time with him, who helped him unasked because you wanted to. You wanted to help him.
It’d taken so many years for him to find someone again who actually wanted more from him than sex. And he found it in the most unexpected way.
Once you were done, you both went back to bed and curled up under the covers, holding each other like you had every night before.
You didn’t know how you were going to sleep without his steady heartbeat anymore. Without his arms holding you tight.
You didn't want to think about it, especially as your eyes were falling closed from exhaustion. You were spent, and you were finally willing to listen and give in to the tiredness.
Seonghwa pressed a kiss to your head as he slowly rubbed your back. “Good night, jagiya,” he whispered, closing his eyes.
“Good night, Mommy,” you whispered back, finally succumbing to sleep in Seonghwa’s arms.

FAVORITE PRIVILEGES:: CHOI SAN
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Inspiration: Money Heist: Korea
Song: Deja Vu - ATEEZ, The Ring - ATEEZ
Summary: After your normal day at work is interrupted by ATEEZ taking over the government office, you try your hardest to keep your head down and wait until it all ends. However, one of the criminals has their eyes on you.
Story Warnings: Use of guns. Getting held for ransom, attempted assault. Unprotected sex (wrap it up, people), spit, use of nicknames (princess, baby, etc), he calls you a whore once, oral (both receiving). Of course, let me know if I forgot something.
A/N: So, I had a hard writer's block and so I got this idea while watching season 2 of Money Heist Korea. Plus, I found this picture of San's titties.F/N= friend's name and Captain is HongJoong. THIS IS STRICTLY FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES
Times were hard, as of recently.
Crime rates were at an all-time high and unless you could afford to live in the high-end gated communities, then you were at risk every day for something to happen to you. Citizens had been begging the government to come to do something for such a long time, demanding that they be saved from the never-ending crime. Only after one of the lawmakers' wives was mugged did they begin to do something. They began to crack down on crime, dropping the rates down a large amount. However, it came with a cost: the government began to hog money. They stopped doing any sort of program that would help lower-income people, claiming that the money was to be used for helping keep the crime rates down. This caused many lower-class people to move and let the upper-class people fill in for them in the communities. You couldn't believe how fast your friendly neighborhood changed: people you had known for almost all of your life were moving away from the capital and leaving you to deal with the rich, snobby families who had formed an HOA just to try and kick you out.
You were in the upper middle class, working for at the capital's bank vault. You were an assistant to the chief of the vault, following him around from 9 am to 6 pm while he yelled at his many subordinates. You felt bad for them; the chief was totally in love with you and if anyone came at you with a tone that wasn't sweet then they'd be screamed at. When it came to everyone else, he was so short and rude.
"You know, Y/N, you're my favorite. You know how to do your job properly," you held back the urge to roll your eyes at your boss's "compliment," thanking him as you both walked through the lobby. For it being the middle of spring, you woke up that morning shocked that it was freezing. You were going to back inside and change, but you realized that if you did, you'd be late, so you bit the bullet as you knew after work you were going out with some coworkers and wanted to dress nice. Now that your boss was eyeing your outfit with his pervy eyes, you were regretting it. "Mr. Myung, please stop staring at Ms. Y/N's legs." You both stopped in your tracks to see F/N making his way toward you both. He had been transferred to the vault from being in the secret service, which pissed off Myung more than ever; if there was going to be someone who called him out on his shit without the fear of being fired, it was F/N.
F/N always had your back when it came to your boss, giving you a voice when he knew you couldn't use yours. You had a feeling he was going to try to make a move on you due to his passing flirty looks and comments, which you welcomed. "Here. I know how much you like this cake," you thanked him as he handed you a Red Velvet cake, promising to eat it during your break before walking away with a pouty Myung.
Around midday while you were taking out the cake, you received a notification to join the staff in the lobby, which was strange to you; there was no staff meeting scheduled for today, and why meet in the lobby of all places? You shook it off though, making your way to the downstairs lobby. When you did meet with everyone, you noticed how confused they all looked, asking each other if they knew why they were there. Before you could text your boss to see if he knew why, a loud gunshot rang through the lobby, making everyone drop at the loud echo. "Stay down on the ground!" You felt your eyes widen as 8 masked gunmen entered the room, shooting up at the ceiling once more. You felt horrified, worried that they were going to hurt you all. They promised that they wouldn't if you did what they said, which you all agreed to do; move against the wall in two groups, get on your knees, heads down, and hand over any phones. You tried to hold in your tears as you placed your phone into the bag, your boss whispering at you harshly to stop your sniffling. The masked man who was gathering the phones stopped in his tracks, crouching down in front of him as he gripped what little hair the man had left.
"She can cry if she's scared. You need to be the one shutting up before I make you." You didn't even bother to look up as your boss agreed, placing his head back down as the man moved on, continuing to gather phones. Once he was done, a loud clap echoed as one of the other criminals spoke. "Alright. I think it's time we build some trust. You've done what we've asked this far, so we should at least be aqantiences throughout this experience." Everyone looked up as the men removed their masks, showing their faces with confident smiles.
"If you need a name to call me, you can call me Captain. I chose the name based on my love for pirates growing up."
"So you mean to tell me that they're doing this to fulfill some sick childhood pirate fantasy? Give me a break," Myung whispered aggressively next to you, making Captain halt his speech. He raised an eyebrow, making his way over to grip your boss's face to meet eye-to-eye aggressively. You could see it in Captain's eyes; it was like he was possessed by a demon. The way he was just acting was so different from the way he looked at your boss. "What was that?" You listened to your boss whimper as Captain gripped his face tighter, smiling at him like a lunatic.
"Just that...Y/N's knees must really hurt! S-she definitely needs a break from sitting on them," Myung stammered out, glancing at you for support. You couldn't help but feel betrayed; to save his own ass, he was willing to shove you into the hands of a criminal. Captain glanced at your knees, indeed seeing some bruising forming. He released his grip on Myung's face before calling over one of his men, telling him to take you to the office and keep you there. You carefully stood up, stumbling behind him as he led you away from everyone towards the office that you had been in so often. You thought about making a run for it as you passed the fire exit before you noticed the heavy machinery he was carrying. You knew that if you ran, he'd either catch you immediately or kill you on the spot, and with how Captain's eyes looked, you didn't want to take any chances.
After you were locked in the office, you slumped against the wall, shaking as you cried. You didn't know what was going to happen to you and now that you were separated from everyone else, you worried for their safety as well. You rushed to the desk, picking up the phone to try and call for help, before halting when you heard the silence on the line, not the familiar dial tone. "Don't even bother trying to call for help." You jumped as the door closed behind a man, the locking sound being the only thing that broke the silence that came after he spoke. "All the phones that are connected in the office have been shut off, so you can't reach anyone, princess."
The man was tall and bulky, obviously built well. He had a slit in his eyebrow, and a small lip piercing at the corner of his lip that you would've missed if it didn't glimmer in the sun. You would be lying if you said you didn't find him attractive, but your fear overcame your underlying lust. He unzipped his jumpsuit, letting the top half fall as he stretched, his white tank top ridding up which gave you a chance to look at his abs. He caught you looking as he returned to his normal stance, chuckling as he walked closer to you. You backed away as he stalked closer, only stopping when your back hit a nearby bookshelf. "How are your knees?" You looked at him in confusion at his question before you remembered what was said to even get you in this predicament, telling him that you were alright. He nodded before his radio went off, telling him to meet the rest of the criminals in one of the nearby offices for a team meeting, signaling the end of your first interaction. As he walked back to the door, you stopped him as he reached for the doorknob. "What should I call you?"
You had a feeling that you were going to be dealing with him often, so you wanted to know what to call him. He chuckled as he found your sudden question cute, shaking his head before he opened the door, turning to face you before saying "San." You nodded as he closed the door behind him, leaving you alone in the office.
San came to check on your throughout the rest of the day, taking you to the bathroom when you needed to go and took you to and from your work shifts at printing money with the others. While the others all slept in sleeping bags in the hallways, you were placed to sleep in the office under San's watchful gaze.
You woke up from one of your naps to see San leaning against the wooden desk, chewing on the red velvet cake F/N had given you. He must have not seen the fork that was next to the container, holding the cake in his hand as the frosting coated his fingers and his lips. When he met your eyes he smirked, licking the frosting slowly off his lips before placing the cake back into the container, keeping his eyes locked with yours. "Well, looks like sleeping beauty is awake." He approached you slowly, crouching down to meet your face as his frosting-covered hand rested on his knee. You bit your lip as he placed his thumb into his mouth, licking off the frosting slowly. He made it look so lewd; his tongue made sure to move around his thumb to clean up every single spot of frosting before humming at the sweet taste. You couldn't help but feel jealous, wanting to lean forward and lick the rest of the frosting off of his hand.
San must've had the same thought as you, holding his ring finger to your lips. He moved his finger along your bottom lip, his eyes darkening as you licked the small amount. He felt his boxers tight around him as you leaned forward wrapping your lips around his finger, your tongue moving to clean the frosting. San had to hold back from fucking you right then and there, biting his lip as you kept eye contact with him, only breaking it when his walkie went off from HongJoong telling him to report for a meeting. He cursed softly as you moved away from his finger with a wet pop, looking up at him with doe eyes. San took a second to process what you had just done before standing up, shooting a wink your way before leaving the room. He wiped the frosting off of his hand onto his pants as he walked down the hallway, trying to calm down. Even though you both hadn't exchanged a lot of words throughout the interaction, he could tell that you wanted him just as much as he wanted you.
San cleared his throat before he entered the crowded room, meeting the eyes of his friends. They didn't seem to notice the white smudge on his pants, nor how quiet he was, which he was thankful for. "San, how is Y/N doing? I want to put her back with everyone else as soon as possible."
That made San snap from his thoughts, asking what HongJoong meant. HongJoong looked at San like he had grown a third head, pointing to where all the other hostage's sleeping bags were. "Y/N doesn't get any special treatment. I kept her separate so that everyone would trust us more. Now that they are used to the routine we've created for them, Y/N can go back with everyone." San wasn't fond of the idea of not being able to have some alone time with you, wanting to get to know you more and maybe follow up on what you had done in the room before he left. Call him crazy or a hopeless romantic, but San knew what he wanted.
San knew he couldn't change HongJoong's mind, agreeing to escort you to your work shift and then move your sleeping bag to be with everyone else. He knew that while he may not have the opportunity to have you alone, but he would still be able to see you around. He took every opportunity he could to walk by you or interact with you, which you actually didn't mind.
One night while you were trying to fall asleep after a shift, you were woken up by a tap on your thigh, making you jolt awake. As you quickly sat up, you were met with San smirking at you, placing a finger to his lips as he shushed you. "Come with me, princess." You nodded quietly as he helped you up, leading you back to the office. When you both entered the room, he placed his gun down before he turned to you, admiring how you looked in the moonlight. "I missed you, princess. I never got to apologize for eating your cake."
You sighed as he smiled at you, easing the tension in the room. San had let you see a different side of him; sure when someone crossed him or anyone else, he could get angry, even sometimes as bad as HongJoong. But, he let you see how sweet he was. It made you wonder how someone as sweet as him ended up in such a situation. If you had met him outside of him holding you and your coworkers' hostage, you probably would've dated him; heck, a part of you still wanted to despite the situation.
You couldn't remember what made you grip his face and smash your lips into his; only remembering the sweet taste of cake on his tongue and the way his hands gripped your hips. You moaned into the kiss as he pressed your back against the door forcefully, the kiss turning rough and passionate as his hands roamed your body. He wanted to touch you like this since the moment he saw you, and now that he was, he wasn't going to let this opportunity go.
San began to kiss down your neck, murmuring your name as you gripped his hair. "Calm down, princess. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon," he chuckled against your neck as he left a mark before pulling back to press his lips back to yours. He ripped away your top, chuckling darkly as the buttons scattered around the room. You loved the way San was treating you; like he was desperate for you. He wanted you and would do anything to have you. It made you feel dizzy as he tore away your bra, tossing the ripped fabric behind him as his lips wrapped around one of your breasts. He sucked gently as he met your eyes, his skillful tongue playing with it as his free hand played with your other one. At one of your loud moans of his name, San paused before cutting you off with a kiss, shoving his tongue to meet yours to shut you up. "As much as I love the sounds you're making for me, princess, you gotta be quiet. I don't think you want everyone to hear about how the good girl is in the office fucking a criminal."
You squeezed your legs around his body, letting your eyes roll back as he bit your bottom lip. "Such a bad girl, you are. Over here about to ride and cream all over a criminal's cock. Such a whore," he placed you onto the desk as he removed his jumpsuit, leaving him in his tight boxers. You placed your hand on his body, admiring his toned body; his large pecks, his chiseled abs, his strong V-line. It was like a wet dream. San watched as your hand slowly moved down his chest, gripping the top of the bottom half of the jumpsuit. He raised an eyebrow as you got off of the desk, sinking to your knees as you took the pants down with you. Only when you began to kiss around his clothed cock did San run a hand through your hair before tilting your head back. "Open your mouth."
You did as he said, whimpering when San spit down into your mouth. He pushed down his boxers as he tapped his cock against your tongue, mixing your saliva with his cock before pushing into your mouth, pressing the back of your head against the desk as he filled your throat. "Breathe through your nose, baby. Show me what his slutty throat can do." You moaned at his words, the vibrations making San toss his head back as he pulled out, giving you a moment to breathe before he began to fuck your throat. He gripped the side of your mouth as he moved faster, cursing under his breath as he felt himself become close. "Let me cum down that throat, princess. Milk me dry," his thighs began to tense up as he came, tossing his head back as he repeated your name. He took a few moments to gather his breath before looking down at you, breathing heavily as he praised you; "my good girl" ''you did so well for me''
He helped you up, kissing you messily as he moved you against the wall. You hastily removed your skirt and panties, whimpering against his lips to hurry up and fuck you. He gripped your hips as he pressed his chest against yours, his eyes scanning your face. You believed he was looking for any hesitation; to see if you truly wanted him. "Say it, Y/N. Say that you want me."
"I want you so much, San, please." As soon as the words left your lips, San's eyes darkened once more, kissing you roughly as he picked you up. He broke the kiss with a wet pop, placing you onto his shoulders as he pressed your back against the wall. You gripped his arms as you glanced down at the floor, scared of falling down from his shoulders. San looked up at you, kissing your thigh to get your attention. "Keep your eyes on me, baby. Don't look anywhere but at me, I've got you." You nodded as you stared into his eyes, moaning softly when he licked a long stripe up your pussy. You tossed your head back as he began to tongue fuck you, the vibrations from his moans making you moan louder. You didn't care that someone could walk by and hear you, only concerned with the man who had his face in between your legs while you were propped up on his shoulders.
"That's it, Y/N, keep your eyes on me. Look at me while I eat out this beautiful pussy." He hummed against your folds, chuckling as one of your hands moved to press against the ceiling as the other gripped his arm, rolling your hips to meet his tongue. "San, I'm going to cum, fuck," you moaned softly as he sped up, begging for him to not stop.
You choked out his name as you came, San's grip on your thighs becoming tighter to make sure you didn't fall as he licked you through your orgasm. You felt like you were on cloud nine, not fully realizing that San was moving from the wall to the desk, gently moving you from his shoulders to place you on top of it. You laid back against it as San kissed your stomach, rubbing your sides as he waited. When you did come to, you placed your hand into his hair, running your hands through it. He hummed against your chest before looking up at you, sticking his tongue out at you jokingly, making you laugh. He kissed up to your lips, pressing his body against yours as he kissed you gently, cupping your face as he did. "Are you ready for me now, baby?" he hovered over your lips as he met your eyes, his free hand moving to stroke himself a few times. You nodded, letting out a small "please", making San moan. "If you keep talking to me like this I'm gonna cum fast." he pressed another kiss to your lips before pulling back, pressing himself to your entrance.
He wrapped your legs around his waist, pushing into you slowly as you tossed your head back, moaning at the stretch. You brought your head back up as he filled you up, biting your lip as you watched San's reaction; sweat on his forehead, hair sticking to his face, his tongue sticking out as he moaned. San couldn't think straight, wanting nothing more than to fuck you senseless. He licked his lips before he began to move his hips, moaning at the wetness that was now coating his cock and the front of his thighs. "Fuck, Y/N, goddam baby. Such a tight pussy." He hooked his arms under your legs, moving his hips faster as he pounded into you.
"San, oh my god, fuck!" your hands searched around for something to grab onto, choosing to hold onto your breasts, making him moan loudly. "Fuck, you're so hot, Y/N. Such a good girl, letting me pound into this perfect pussy. Sucking me in like your life depends on it, fuck." San felt like he was drunk, not being able to focus on anything else than how you were tightening around him. He moved one hand to play with your clit, moving your other leg to his shoulder so he could move deeper, making you moan even louder. "Fuck, gonna fill you up, Y/N, come on. Cum for me so I can fill up this pussy." You let your eyes roll to the back of your head as you came, your mouth drooling as San filled you up afterward.
You tilted your head to see San, moaning softly as San pressed a kiss to your knee, breathing heavily. "Look how fucking satisfied my baby looks. So hot," he chuckled, placing your leg carefully back down before picking you up, flipping you over so your chest was against the desk, your ass now pressed against his still-hard cock. You whimpered his name as he pushed back into you, his lips moving up your spine as his hand went into your hair, tugging your head back so you could see him in the reflection of the window. San looked so hot to you, making you clench around him before confidently saying "One more time."
San raised an eyebrow as you spoke, leaning forward carefully to press his chest to your back. "Say it again, Y/N." You confidently said it again, your desire for him giving you a boost of confidence. San smirked before kissing your shoulder, pulling out before slamming back into you, setting a rough pace. "So my good girl is out here making demands now, isn't she? Is my good girl going to become a bad girl over my cock?" You nodded as his hips began to meet your ass, his hands both slapping it before he spread your cheeks, watching as his cock continued to disappear and reappear while he fucked you.
You gripped the desk as San fucked you, mumbling things out in a daze as he did. You were drooling onto the desk, begging for more of his cock as he fucked you, which made him groan. "Am I fucking you so good that you've become so cock hungry, baby? Can't even fucking talk straight and drooling onto the desk."
"Yes, you're fucking me so good, I'm fucking coming." You tried to keep your eyes open as he began to snap his hips, slamming into your G-spot as you came. You let out a broken scream of his name, San coming right afterward as he leaned forward to shove his tongue into your mouth, kissing you messily as he breathed heavily. "Fuck, I love you, Y/N goddam," he spat into your mouth, holding your body close as he filled you up. You leaned more into his warmth, closing your eyes as he left wet kisses along your jaw, praising you gently. After a few moments, he pulled out, watching as both of your cum leaked from your pussy, making San moan, forcefully tearing his eyes away so he wouldn't get hard again. He cleaned you up with a napkin before putting back on his jumpsuit, helping you get dressed afterward.
"San, my shirt and bra are ripped. What am I going to wear?" you asked him, showing him the ripped fabrics. San bit his lip before he told you to wait a moment before leaving the room, returning later with a red jumpsuit like the one he was wearing. He helped you into it, smiling softly. "You look good in red, Y/N." You gently shoved his shoulder, making him laugh before he picked back up his gun, tilting his head to the door. When he noticed your hesitation, he asked what was wrong. "Well, what am I going to do when the others ask why I'm wearing this?" San hummed in thought before shrugging, saying "If anyone gives you a hard time about it, tell me." He offered you a smile as he opened the door, leading you back to the others for your work shift.
The others did ask why you were wearing a jumpsuit "those criminals," along with why you weren't with everyone else sleeping. You tried to make up excuses, trying to get through the shift. However, while you were exiting the bathroom, Myung grabbed your arm, tugging you to an empty hallway. "I know you're fucking that pretty boy, Y/N!" You tried to deny it, Myung punching the wall next to your head in response. "I was going to head into the office to try and call for help when I heard you moaning that asshole's name."
You felt a cold wave rush over your body at his words, trying to come up with an excuse to calm him down, not wanting the others to hear. "I can't believe you, Y/N. After knowing me for so long, you reject my advances but you bend over for some dick from a criminal?" You tried to apologize when you paused at his words. He was more upset that you had sex with someone who wasn't him than the fact that you had fucked your kidnappers. You shoved him back, telling him to screw off before you began to make your way back to the others. Before you could turn the corner, Myung roughly grabbed your hair, pulling you back against a wall. He pressed his arm against your throat, screaming at you for disobeying him. You watched as he raised his hand, almost as if he was going to slap you. But, before he could, his hand was grabbed by San, who pulled your boss back roughly, pushing him to the ground. San had an almost dead look on his face, pointing his gun at your boss who was now begging for his life on the floor. "If I ever catch you about to hit her again, I'll kill you on the spot."
San kept his eye on you more closely after that situation. The others began to spread rumors that you were in a relationship with him, which you always denied. However, you found yourself thinking about it at night. Did you want to date San? He treated you well and cared for you. Besides the fact that he was holding everyone hostage, you loved him.
You loved him.
You wanted to go on dates with him, wake up in your bed the next morning with him- you wanted to be with him.
->
When San came to you a week later letting you know that he was going to escape with the others later that night, you felt your heartbreak. You had grown so attached to him, so the idea that he was going to disappear sort of broke your heart. "I enjoyed getting to know you, Y/N. I hope we can meet again, someday," San smiled sadly at you, feeling the same way. He cupped your face, leaning down to place a kiss on your forehead. You gently gripped his wrist, closing your eyes before taking a deep breath, meeting his eyes again. "I want to come with you, San...."
"Y/N...If you do, there is no coming back." San let his thumbs rub your cheeks, scanning your face. While San did want for you to come, he wanted for you to know that if you did, you couldn't come back; you would have to start brand new. However, you didn't care; if you had to move far away, then you would do it. If you had to change your name and go through the 4 years of college again, then you would. And if in the end, you regretted it, then you at least did something you wanted to. "San, I want to come with you. I love you."
San nodded, pressing another kiss to your forehead before sighing. "When the red siren goes off, you have to go to the back, we'll be leaving there." You nodded, going back to the sleeping bag area, laying down but you didn't fall asleep. You were about to change the rest of your life forever.
Around midnight, a red siren went off, waking everyone up. You watched as everyone rushed to the doors as police sirens rang through the place, letting you know that the police were there. You slipped through the crowd before running to the back loading dock, where San and the others were packing up the freshly printed cash you all had been printing for the past few days. When HongJoong saw you, he glanced at San before sighing. "Are you just going to stand there or can you lend a hand?!" You snapped out of your daze before helping them place the bags into the truck. Once all the bags were in the truck, San helped you get inside before closing the door. "You know you're an accomplice now, right Y/N?" you nodded, gently holding San's hand, making him smile.
"But, I get to be with San. So, it's all worth it."

Your father's car came to a halt in front of a rather secluded mansion, the driver turning in his seat as he turned off the engine.
“We're here, Ms Jeong. Your father's orders were to drop you off at this address,” he said, getting out to open the car's door for you, bowing when you stepped out. Then he went to gather your suitcase and a few small extra bags from the trunk of the black car, put them on the ground next to you and left. A sigh escaping you, you shook your head.
You always knew about your father's dirty business, never questioning his decisions, since that was how you were raised, to be the obedient and well behaved daughter and heiress to the ‘black pirates’. Well, lately almost no one feared your family anymore, especially since the ‘black pirates’ were overpowered by the new mafia in town. They called themselves the ‘Stray Kids’, following a man named Mr Bang, the exact same man whom your father owes a lot of money to. However, your father managed to settle a deal with him, and this is why you are now standing here, alone and with the little luggage your father sent with you to meet your new husband.
Yes, your father's debts voided under the condition of you marrying Mr Bang. It still baffled you as to why the most wanted bachelor, desired by every woman in town, would want you. After all, you never truly fit in the beauty standards with your slightly crooked nose, freckles and your glasses. Your eyes trailed along the path to the mansion's gates, then down to your luggage.
“Well, that's my life now.” You sighed, grabbing your suitcase in one hand and your other bags in the other hand and started to walk, but you soon got stopped by a voice behind you.
“Wait, let me help you, lady!” The rather deep voice startled you for a moment, your head whipped around to see who called you. A blonde male, probably your age, with a gentle smile on his face. He was accompanied by another one, he seemed a little older, a hard expression on his face. “Who are you?” The older one asked, his voice just as cold as the look in his eyes. They probably were part of Mr Bang's men, so you bowed in their direction, greeting them properly. “Jeong y/n, I have a meeting with Mr Bang.” Your voice was trembling, even though you hid it quite well, you were scared. After all, you´re about to meet your husband soon, a marriage arranged by a deal your father made.
“A pleasure, Ms Jeong. My name is Felix, this is Lee Know.” The younger one smiled, pointing at himself and then the older one who only let out a little grumble before taking your suitcase while Felix took some of your bags. The men then started walking, leading you up to the mansion where another man greeted them. “Felix, you picked up another chick?” The one at the gate laughed, catching a glare from Felix as the blonde shook his head. “Stop it, I.N.! This is Ms Jeong, she's got a meeting with the boss.” Those words let the other male get quiet, eyes widened as he bowed and apologized to you. “I am so sorry miss, I didn't know you would arrive today! Follow me, I will show you to the boss’ office.” The other two exchanged a look when noticing how I.N. reacted to your name, but then they shrugged, assuming their youngest just wants to impress.
They would soon realize how wrong they were though. I.N. led you and the other two men down a few corridors until he knocked on a big wooden door, opening it after hearing a voice from inside. “Sorry to interrupt, boss. She's here now.” The young male said and bowed, stepping aside to let you enter. You hesitated for a moment, your heart beating in your throat and your hands trembling. The ‘boss’, Mr Bang, got up from the chair behind his desk, his appearance quite intimidating, the sleeves of his white button up shirt rolled up, revealing the muscles of his arms, a holster for the revolver on his desk tightly fitted around his chest, a black vest hanging over the chair´s backrest. A scar on his left eyebrow and one on his right cheek making him look tough and a little scary. He only needed a few steps to cross the room, holding a gloved hand out towards you, who shyly took it. In your family, you were feared, known as being ruthless and cold but here? You knew no one, heck, you didn't even know the reason why this man would choose you out of all the women in town.
“Ah, yes. Welcome to your new home, my wife.” He said, giving her hand a gentle squeeze, the soft smile on his face contrasting with the intimidating aura surrounding him. A thump behind you let him look up though, raising an eyebrow at his men who dropped your luggage in shock. “Don't mind these pabos, I hope your luggage didn't contain anything breakable?” You needed a few seconds to process his words, still surprised by the gentleness of his words. “Wh- oh, no it's just clothes and- uhm I am Jeong y/n, you can use my name…” You mumbled, feeling your ears and cheeks heat up with a deep blush.
“Did I hear you right, boss? Wife?!” One of the men, Lee Know, asked, an eyebrow raised. He seemed to hear this for the first time, so it caught him off guard. Felix and I.N. tried to hold the older one back, but he took a step closer to Chan, shooting you a glare. “Why didn't we know about this? You cannot be serious, Chan-” “Enough, Minho. I am serious, y/n will be my wife and you and the others better respect her as the lady of our clan.” Chan's voice dropped a few octaves, letting go of your hand as he fully faced Lee Know while Felix gently pulled you away from the two men for now. “I- uhm, I can leave, so you can- uhm, talk or something?” You stammered, not expecting that your presence would cause arguments in this family, but maybe this had been your father's plan all along? It didn't matter right now though, your father's plans rarely worked out, so this one, if it indeed was his intention, wouldn't work either.
“No, you can stay. I.N. please call a meeting, I want to introduce Miss Jeong to everyone.” Chan ordered towards the youngest, who instantly hurried to gather all the other members. Lee Know scoffed, but he didn't say anything else, knowing that he wouldn't be able to change his best friend's mind anyway. Just about an hour later, all seven other members of the clan had gathered in the meeting room of the mansion, most of them unaware as to why their boss had summoned them all on such short notice. They didn't have to wait for long until the doors flew open and Chan stepped in, your hand placed onto his arm as he led you into the room with him. Upon seeing you next to Chan, Lee Know scoffed once more, arms crossed as he leaned back in his seat as Chan´s right hand, I.N. however quickly scurried to get another chair, positioned it at the farthest end of the table to sit down on it himself, so you could take his seat.
With a smile, Chan helped you sit down and then stood at the head of the table, hands crossed on his back while looking at his men. They have rarely seen him smile, especially when outsiders were present, yet they clearly could see his rather calm and joyful expression. “My friends, you probably are wondering why I called you all here. Well, I want to introduce someone to you, someone who will live with us from now on.” He said, shooting a small glare at Lee Know before resting a hand on your shoulder, causing you to relax a bit. “I want you to welcome Jeong y/n into our family as a valued member and the lady of this clan from this day forward. Our wedding will be held in a week from now.”
This news was met with different reactions; some happy for their boss, some suspicious, and some, like Lee Know and one other, standing up and leaving the room.

Rewards (Park Seonghwa - Ateez)
Genre: smut
Pairing: Seonghwa/reader
Warnings: unprotected sex, creampie, dry humping, oral (m receiving)
Summary: Park Seonghwa, your university crush, was a dance major and not a damn thing else, it seemed. But now you could add another descriptor… virgin? Not for long, if you had anything to say about it.
A/N: This is a complete rewrite and rework of a fic I posted before.
Masterlist
Audiobook version above.
“You’re never going to believe this,” your friend hissed, sliding into the seat next to you at your favorite coffee shop.
Nudging her backpack under the table with your toe as her boyfriend dropped to the bench across from you, you replied, “What? Did you actually manage to talk your calc professor into letting you skip the midterm?”
Poking her lower lip out, your friend huffed, “Nothing that amazing. At least for me.”
Her eyes turned teasing again, and you chuckled at the ever bouncing moods of your best friend as she went on, “But for you, this should be monumental.”
Raising an eyebrow, you waited patiently through her dramatic pause. She grinned, reveling in her moment, then leaned in conspiratorially.
“Your little crush? He’s, and I know we are shocked,” she said in an exaggerated stage whisper, “a virgin.”
“Babe,” her boyfriend groaned from across the table, looking up from his phone, “I didn’t mean for you to hear that, and I sure didn’t  mean for you to tell the whole world. Hwa’s a good guy, don’t make fun of him.”
Distantly, you heard her telling him that she wasn’t making fun, but their words were coming in thin through a haze of static consuming your rational brain. Park Seonghwa was a dancer and not a damn thing else, it seemed. But now you could add another descriptor… virgin? Shit . Goddamn you, and goddamn your friend for telling you this, because you could feel a building thrum of need in your core at this knowledge.
You’d noticed him the first time when your friend had dragged you along to watch her boyfriend’s dance practice. As your friend sank into taking a million pictures of her boyfriend, you watched the tall mystery figure practice with an intensity that set him apart from the rest of the team. His long legs, the sheen of sweat on his broad shoulders when he pulled his shirt over his head, shaking his hair out of his face… it all held you mesmerized.
From that day forward, you’d tried to find out everything you could about Park Seonghwa from your admittedly rather large and gossipy social circle, to no avail. All you’d been able to find out was that he was attending your university on a dance scholarship, he was in your year, and he didn’t socialize much. According to your friend’s boyfriend, Seonghwa spent pretty much all of his time on dance. Apparently even to the exclusion of getting laid, if your friend was right in her proclamation.
“How’d you even find this out,” you finally asked, interrupting the couple at your table.
Your friend rolled her eyes and huffed, “I overheard my sweet boyfriend here talking to Hwa on the phone today.”
“And you were discussing his virginity?” you asked incredulously, turning to her boyfriend who grinned sheepishly.
“Not really,” he groaned, dropping his head into his folded arms, his muffled voice continuing, “I was calling to check on him because he twisted his ankle and had to go to the clinic. They were doing the intake questionnaire and my dumb ass had the phone on speaker next to Ms. Nosy when they asked if he was sexually active.”
At this your friend cut in triumphantly, “And Ms. Nosy here heard it directly from the man himself. He’s a virgin, just waiting for you to defile him.”
Your friend’s tone was teasing, and you know she didn’t mean those words literally, but the dampness collecting in your panties at the thought of leading Seonghwa into the world of sexual exploration was telling. Shifting in your seat, you pictured the way he would look under you, fucked out and falling apart from his first time, how he’d buck into your mouth, cursing at the overwhelming new sensations of your heat surrounding his cock…
“Earth to _____,” your friend broke into your fantasies, waving a hand in front of your face, “Stop fantasizing about dancer boy and keep up. When are you going to make a move on the poor guy?”
“The minute I can catch him out of the damn studio,” you muttered, crashing back from your imagination, “meaning never, I guess.”
The man across from you snorted and cut in, “Good luck with that. I practically had to threaten to kick him off the dance team and remind him he’ll lose his scholarship just to get him to take the time to set up tutoring sessions for the stupid bio class that he’s failing. Hwa is single-minded as hell.”
This caught your attention, and you quickly sat up, asking, “Wait, he needs a biology tutor?”
Your friend jumped in, immediately catching the direction your mind took, “Oh, this is perfect! Our little _____ here took bio last year and was an ace at it. Hook a bitch up!”
You turned begging eyes to the man across from you, who ran an exasperated hand through his hair and retorted, “I want him to actually pass the class, not just have his v-card taken.”
Holding a hand up in quick promise, you chimed in, “I swear, I’ll tutor him! He’ll pass!”
“ Then she’ll fuck him dumb,” your friend added, snickering.
Snorting, her boyfriend shot back, “Okay, I’ll set it up. Honestly, I don’t know if you can get Hwa’s mind off of his scholarship long enough to get his dick hard anyways.”
You ignored the jab, too excited to finally have the singular attention of Park Seonghwa, but your friend replied, “Please. That boy has to be so backed up he’ll cum in his pants the minute _____ touches him.”
“Wanna make a bet,” he shot back, and you rolled your eyes, knowing that your friend could never pass up a bet and her boyfriend knew that and used it to his advantage.
“Guys, please,” you tried to cut in, but it was a lost cause and you knew it.
“Bet. _____ gets in his pants within two tutoring sessions,” your friend challenged, sticking her hand across the table.
Her boyfriend took her hand, shaking it, asking, “Terms?”
You jumped up, knowing the terms of their bets were usually fairly explicit, cutting in, “Okay and on that note I’m out. Let me know when he is free for tutoring and give him my number.”
Striding out of the coffee shop, you started making plans. You intended to make damn sure your friend won her bet.
***
[Unknown Number]: Hi, is this _____?
Your heart raced. There it was. Seonghwa had texted you only minutes after the text you’d received from your friend that her boyfriend had set you up as the bio tutor. You quickly shot back an affirmative reply.
[Seonghwa]: Thanks so much for the help. I have practice everyday except Sunday evening. Are you free sometime then?
There was a party that night, but you would happily miss it for this. You set up a time for that Sunday evening, and gave him directions to your apartment. It was going to be a long week of waiting.
***
Sunday dawned, days of fantasizing and wearing your vibrator batteries down past, you set the scene. There was a roar between your legs as you showered, but you saved the orgasm, letting the tension in your loins build. You pulled on a nice, lacy bra and matching panties, then topped it with an unassuming pairing of a t-shirt and running shorts. Taking a look at the scene set in your living room, you gave yourself a pat on the back.
The couch was the perfect mix of innocent setting and soft surface. The spread of art supplies across the small dining table should keep him from trying to move to the more formal, less intimate setting of the kitchen. Nodding, you checked your phone. Seonghwa should be there at any minute, and you were buzzing with excitement. All year you had been fantasizing about this guy. Finally you would have his attention.
Just as you were letting your mind wander, there was a knock at your front door. A predatory grin spread across your lips as you ran a hand through your hair and approached the door. Pulling it open, you felt the lust in your loins roar louder. The tall man looked down at you with a shy smile, and you reveled in the quick flick of his eyes down your body before meeting your eyes.
Yep. You were going to fuck this guy.
***
Seonghwa felt his stomach flip as the door opened to reveal his new tutor.
Shit. It was _____. That _____. He was going to kill his team captain.
For almost the entire year he had been watching you. You’d been showing up to dance practice, hanging out with the girlfriend of the team captain. Bouncing around campus with your popular friend in your cute outfits, showing the smooth skin to the world that was on display right now for his eyes. His heart sped as he wet his suddenly dry lips and stepped in as you greeted him and welcomed him into your apartment.
You spun to lead him to a cozy looking couch, and he followed in a daze, his eyes glued to your ass that was barely covered by the pair of shorts that hugged you in the most damning ways. Feeling his face flush, he tried his damnedest to slow the rush of hormones that made his cock begin to swell. Embarrassed by his visceral reaction, he sat on the far end of the couch from you, quickly pulling his backpack to his lap, shifting uncomfortably.
This is why he focused on dance and avoided girls. His inexperience had reached a level of awkward so insurmountable that he just threw himself into the one thing he knew he was good at. Meeting your eyes finally, he tried valiantly to stop blushing. A smile curled your lips, and he bit his lip, finally seeing that smile directed at him.
Fuck. Fuck, fuck, fuck .
“So where are you needing help in bio?” you asked, and he tried to reign in the blood rushing from his brain to his face and his cock long enough to make a coherent response.
“I just… I’m kind of bad at all of it?” he babbled, looking down shyly.
A hand landed on his knee, and he jerked, looking to see you smiling at him. That did nothing to calm his pulse. Your hand was warm and he wanted nothing more than to feel it all over his body. Shit, he had to calm down, and he couldn’t do that with you touching him, even so innocently.
“It’s okay, Hwa,” you said playfully, and he nearly moaned at the sound of his name coming from your lips, “We will make sure you pass.”
Shifting, he looked down at the bag in his lap and murmured, “Thank you. I’m just useless at this. I’m good at dance and not much else.”
There was a pause, then your hand on his knee slowly slid up and he snapped his wide eyes up to meet yours as you replied slowly, “I’m sure you’re good at lots of things. You just need the right… motivation.”
Swallowing, he tried not to read too much into your words, but you continued on, leaning in, your smile turning slightly darker, sending his pulse racing as you went on, “Let’s see if I can motivate you to learn, Seonghwa.”
You gently took the bag from his lap, setting it to the floor next to him and scooting closer. He sat frozen, his gaze glued to your form as you settled in, your bare leg pressing against his jeans now, your mesmerizing eyes holding him still as he felt dizzy. He wasn’t sure what was happening, but he knew that he wanted you closer to him. Through the haze of want, he noted that your smile turned predatory.
“How about this,” you murmured, leaning closer, “If you can pass the mock quiz at the end of this tutoring session, I’ll give you a reward.”
His throat was dry, making his faint words raspy as he asked slowly, “What reward?”
Looking down, you smiled, then flicked your eyes up to his once more with a teasing curl of your lips as you squeezed his thigh and replied, “You’ll have to wait and see, won’t you?”
***
It had been the longest, most tense hour of your life. Tutoring Seonghwa was the most difficult test of your patience, especially with how responsive he was to you. From the first moment you caught the sight of his tenting jeans when he sat on your couch, you knew. He was yours. You were going to wreck this boy.
His voice shook as he repeated the answers you’d gone over with him, and you nodded encouragingly, trailing your fingers over the back of his hand. He stumbled over his words, and you chuckled, taking his hand in yours. Meeting his eyes, you smiled, turning to face him fully.
“Very good. That’s it, Hwa. You got them all right,” you murmured, pulling his hand to lay it on your thigh, watching his eyes widen.
His palm was sweaty on your skin, and his cheeks flushed again as he asked, “So then… my reward?”
Laying your hand over his, you slid his palm up your thigh to the hem of your shorts, saying, “Hmmm, you did earn it. What would you like, Hwa?”
He swallowed heavily and you tried not to laugh in victory as he fumbled with his words, his eyes darting across your body. Shifting your thigh so that his hand laying on it slipped between your legs, you leaned in.
“Come on, Seonghwa, you’ve been so good this whole time. There must be something you want,” you teased, loving how he squirmed next to you.
“I…” he stammered, “I don’t… I mean- look, I don’t know if I’m misreading this or-”
Giggling, you spared his fumbling by pressing your lips to his. His hand gripped your inner thigh in surprise, and you moaned gently into the kiss, tilting your head to deepen it. His breathing was fast as you cupped his face in your hands. Pulling away, you met his eyes, watching for any hesitancy.
“Wow,” he breathed out, his eyes still closed as he leaned his forehead against yours, “I’ve wanted to do that all evening.”
“Can I show you what I’ve wanted to do all year? ” you murmured, squeezing his hand between your thighs.
His eyes snapped open in wonder, and he slowly nodded. That was all the consent you needed. Whipping your shirt off to reveal the lacy bra you wore beneath it, you swooped yourself over him, straddling his hips, hands threading into his hair. You had a momentary view of his shocked expression before you claimed his lips once more. Grinding down, you finally got a feel of the impressive bulge he’d been sporting all evening as you’d teased him throughout the tutoring session.
Jesus, his dick was big. Thick, possibly a gentle curve to it, and fucking long. Slowly, you began to rock atop him, and his hands seemed to flutter around you, not knowing where to land as you worked him through a deep, domineering kiss. Tugging gently at his hair, you savored the sound of his moan as his hands finally landed on your ass, squeezing gently. Rutting against his bulge, you moaned into the kiss and felt him twitch beneath you.
Pulling back, you trailed kisses down his jaw to suck a mark into his neck, and he hissed out, “Fuck, _____, fuck… I should tell you… I’ve never-”
Sitting up, you unhooked your bra, silencing him effectively, and you cupped his face once more, drawing him towards your lips, saying, “That’s okay, Hwa. I’ll teach you.”
This time his kiss was feverish, his hands flying up to grip your breasts, thumbs flicking at the pearled peaks before you broke from his lips, arching your back in offering before his lips latched onto one of your nipples.
“Fuck, Hwa, just like that,” you moaned, reveling in the whimper he gave at your words, lost in the taste of your skin.
The wetness between your legs had soaked through your panties and shorts, beginning to wet the long bulge in his jeans. The friction on your clit wasn’t enough though, so you pulled Seonghwa’s head back, relishing how he tried to chase after your skin, lost in the sensation of you. Standing, you smiled reassuringly at the worried look on his face, and you hooked your fingers in the waist of your shorts and panties, tugging them off.
You allowed him a moment to take in the sight of you naked before him, his wide eyes sweeping over your form before you waved a hand to him, saying, “Shirt off, Hwa.”
He sat frozen for a moment until you cocked a brow at him, causing him to scramble to rip his shirt over his head. Licking your lips as you were distracted for a long moment by the view of his chiseled form and the sheen of sweat gracing the skin that you had dreamed of running your tongue over for months now. Dropping to your knees before him, you tugged the button of his jeans open, his breathing sped as he shifted, sinking deeper into the couch, adjusting his hips as you slid the zipper down and reached in to wrap your fingers around his thick length, drawing out his leaking cock.
You took a moment to appreciate the beauty of his dick, the red tip leaking precum, the veins running up his shaft, the upward sweeping curve. Before you could stop yourself, you ran your tongue out to circle the tip and Seonghwa’s fingers slid into your hair, gripping it tightly, softly whispered curses falling from his lips, causing your wetness to begin to slide down your inner thigh. You took the tip in your mouth, suckling gently, and his breathing became choked.
“Shit, _____, I can’t” he babbled, lost in the sensations of your mouth on his cock, “please, I can’t-”
Pulling off of him, pressing kisses down the shaft, you let him pull you back onto his lap with his trembling hands. Taking in the jerking twitches of his length and the sheen of sweat on his chest, you straddled him once more, and took one of his hands, drawing it to your core.
“Let me show you how much I want you,” you murmured, meeting his eyes and holding them with a salacious smile.
Running his fingers over your folds, you threw your head back, moaning along with him as you wet his fingers. Slipping his fingers over your clit, you showed him how you liked it, just the right pressure. You ground your hips against his hand, moaning his name and finding him watching you in wonder. Breath coming quickly now, you leaned in to capture his lips once more as you slipped his fingers to your opening. He slid them in and you gripped his hair once more, letting him tentatively slide in and out of you, your juices pooling in his hand, coating his fingers as you rode them.
When the pads of his fingers brushed over your spot, you rewarded him with a deep moan, clenching around his fingers. He moaned shakily into the kiss, his fingers jerking inside you. Raising off of them, you licked your lips, meeting his eyes once more as you gripped the base of his cock and adjusted yourself to hover over it.
“Tell me you want it,” you murmured, teasing the tip across your opening, letting the heat and wetness collect on him.
Drawing in a shaky breath, he breathed out reverently, “Please, _____. Fuck, I want you so bad.”
That was all you needed. Sinking on him, you bit your lip, eyes trying to fall shut at the stretch of him filling you up, but keeping your eyes on him, watching how his fluttered shut, his head falling back as you took him to the hilt.
“Holy shit,” he moaned softly, “You feel- god, _____, you are incredible.”
Settling for a moment with him deep inside you, you wrapped your arms around his neck, holding him close as you kissed him slowly, deeply, the urgency gone now that you finally had him buried deep inside you. One of his hands gripped your ass once more while the other trailed up your spine to tangle into your hair. As his lips slid down to your neck, you began to ride him, your head spinning at the heavy slide of his thickness inside you.
His breathing stuttered against your skin as you moaned softly, “Oh my god, Hwa, you fill me up so well.”
His hips began to thrust up, meeting your slow, sinuous riding, speeding you with his neediness. He flopped back against the back of the couch, his hands moving to grip your hips as he thrust up harder, watching you ride him. The fucked out expression on his face had you tightening around his thick length, watching the way his back arched as he tried to gain more speed.
“You want to cum in me, baby?” you murmured against his lips, leaning forward to get a better angle, speeding atop him and raining kisses over his jawline, “Fill me up and fuck it into me while I cum on your cock?”
A high pitched whimper escaped him at your words, the meaning sinking in and causing him to snap his hips up into you hard and fast, the new rhythm and the angle of his head slamming into your spot bringing you to the edge. That coupled with the way he arched, hissing out pleas brought your hand down to your clit, wanting to squeeze around him and milk every bit of cum out of him.
“Shit, I’m not gonna last,” he gasped, his grip on your hips bruising, eyes wildly searching your face for permission which you immediately granted him.
“Do it, baby,” you hissed, feeling your own orgasm right on the bridge at his desperation to cum and the way his dick twitched inside you, “cum in me…”
Throwing his head back, Seonghwa growled out a curse, slamming you down on him and grinding you on his cock as he jerked, hot seed erupting from him to fill you. The sensation threw you over the edge and you cried out his name as you clamped down around him, your clenching sheathe milking him dry. When the last quake of pleasure was wrung from you, you fell forward across his chest, gasping for breath and pressing gentle, sleepy kisses up to his lips.
“Wow,” he breathed out again, a satisfied smile creeping over his lips as he lazily opened an eye to peer down at you, “That was- wow.”
Giggling breathlessly, you nodded, agreeing, “Yes it was. Are you okay?”
Wrapping his arms around you, he laughed softly and replied with a kiss to your hair, “Never better. I guess I should thank you.”
Raising a brow up at him, you giggled, “You can thank me with an actual date?”
His eyes widened, and he paused, then laughed happily, hugging you tightly, “Deal.”
