“Omatikayaru tìhawnu sivi”- Protect the people.
sully family x reader
Tumblr media
shoutout to @eywas-heir for giving me the idea for this fic, i hope i did it justice :)
pairings: sully family x reader, neytiri x daughter!reader, jake sully x daughter! reader, neteyam x twinsister!reader etc.
notes: this is set during the events of avatar twow and I had sm fun writing this! this fic is 2k+ words so be prepared
synopsis: you’re the twin sister to neteyam. growing up you served as the families little bit of peace, even when quaritch threatens everything you know and love.
…Mìpa tìreyti, mìpa tìkanti. Lawnol a mì te’lan.
One of your earliest memories was your mother and father cradling you and your twin brother Neteyam, while your mother sings her songcord. Your mothers voice always had an affect on you from a young age.
“y/n, please stop fighting with your brother.” You always listened to what your mother had to say, even if it was a scolding. You loved your dad endlessly but you were a mama’s girl at heart, and everyone knew it.
She sees a lot of her late older sister in you. Your compassion for Pandora’s animal life, your strong will, and your love for the people.
“Ma' ite, she is beautiful.” Your grandmother constantly reminded your mother how happy she is that you’re her first grandchild. Your whole family adored you and that continued even into your teen years
“Ma sempul Lo’ak has done nothing wrong, let him be.” You never failed to stand up for your younger brother to your father, even when what he did was truly stupid. You never let your brother feel like he was not supported by you. Today however, was different.
When you got the message that Lo’ak, Kiri, Spider, and Tuk were at the old shack with sky people present, you felt could not defend him. He had put himself and your siblings in a dangerous position.
After rescuing your siblings from Quaritch and his people, you couldn’t help but to let your anger with your brother dissipate. Your gratefulness for their safety was a stronger feeling than your anger for them being in that situation in the first place.
꧁꧂
Later that night after finishing a conversation with a few of your friends you make your way back to your families tent. You catch your siblings seated outside of your home seemingly listening to someone’s conversation. “Guys what are you do-” Kiri sushes you, gesturing for you to sit down with them.
“I can not, you can not ask this. I can not leave my people, I will not!” Your ears perk up at the mention of leaving the people. ‘What’s going on?’ You wonder. Your father says something about him targeting your family. You immediately know who he’s referring to. “You can not ask this! The children everything they’ve ever known, the forest, this is our home!” Your mom bites back. Tuk winces upon hearing your mom yell at your dad. Placing a hand on her shoulder you nod at her, giving her a faint smile attempting to keep her grounded.
“My father gave me this bow as he lay dying. And he said ‘protect the people’ you’re Toruk Makto!” At this point you and your siblings are all on edge, as you begin to understand what your dad is insisting. Tuk wraps herself in your embrace as you attempt to soothe her irregular breathing. Kiri has a hand over her mouth as she lets out quiet sobs. Your brothers have serious faces on with saddened eyes.
“But I know one thing, wherever we go this family is our fortress.” You and your siblings make eye contact sharing a knowing look. Your father has never given your family any reason not to trust him, this is no different.
꧁꧂
Turning back you’re met with the forest, your people, and your home getting smaller and smaller as you ride off with your family to a new region of Pandora.
You learned how to hunt there, you bonded with your Ikran there, you attended Tsahìk lessons with your grandmother there. The forest is your home and your life’s first love. Nowhere could ever replace it.
Although if this is truly the best choice for the safety of your family, you’re willing to go as far as it takes.
꧁꧂
Arriving at Awa'atlu, everything felt wrong. You felt outcast for the first time in your life. You and your siblings immediately being subject to the bullying of the Olo'eyktan’s son Ao’nung and his friends didn’t help the feeling either.
“Leave us alone!” Your ears perk up, your head swiftly turning to where you’re hearing the commotion. Your eyes land on the sight of Lo’ak and Kiri being harassed by Ao’nung and his friends. Making eye contact with Neteyam you both make your way over to your younger siblings.
Roughly shoving Ao’nung away from your brother and giving him a deadly stare, your eyes narrowing at him. “You heard what she said, leave them alone.” Neteyam demands. One of his friends attempts to talk back to him and before you can respond to him Ao’nung raises his hand infront of is body, silencing him. “Back off now!” You hiss tilting your head, daring him to say anything back. Ao’nung then raises his hands in surrender. “Smart choice, and from now on I need you to respect my siblings.” Checking to make sure all of you are ok you begin to retreat back to your marui pod.
Walking away they begin to talk more shit under their breaths about your family. Lo’ak stops walking with us and turns back. Neteyam warns him to stop but Lo’ak dismisses him and continues to walk over to the group. Neteyam makes eye contact with you, clearly confused as the two of you watch the scene unfold.
Suddenly Lo’ak punches Ao’nung in the face twice, and he’s sent back by the blow into the sand. “It’s called a punch bitch!” They immediately gang up on your brother, he starts losing the fight and fast. “Teyam do something!” You whisper yell to your brother. He looks at you scratching his head contemplating getting into a fight for his little brother, ultimately deciding to jump in to help him.
꧁꧂
After all the fighting Lo’ak and Neteyam returned home all bruised up. Your father was not having it, ordering you all to go make peace with Ao’nung. Once your brothers left with defeated faces you stick behind to talk with your dad.
“Lo’ak was only defending Kiri, Sully’s stick together and that’s what he was doing. The execution wasn’t the best sure but he still stood up for her, don’t be so harsh.” He sends you a sympathetic smile and pulling you into his chest, wrapping you in his strong arms, and kissing the top of your head. “Alright babygirl.”
꧁꧂
The peace that was made between the two families was soon destroyed when Teyam comes in dragging Ao’nung by his arm “Tell them what you told me” Looking at your parents in confession you listen to what Aonung has to say.
The color drains from your face he reveals what has happened with your brother. Throughout the night you wondered where he had gone off to, figuring he was out doing his own thing with his new friend Tsireya you brushed it off.
When your little brother returned home you ran to him trapping him in a tight embrace, thanking Eywa for his safety. He relaxes in your embrace but quickly tenses back up at the sight of your enraged mother.
꧁꧂
The following weeks at Awa'atlu were rather peaceful for you. Lo’ak told you all about Payakan, the clan shamed him for it but you found it interesting and agreed with him that Payakan is a hero. So did little Tuk, she constantly asked him about his new found friend.
The Tulkun returned home, and you swear to Eywa it was the most beautiful sight. You got better and better at riding your ilu and holding you breath thanks to Tsireya’s lessons. Things for your family were starting to look up.
꧁꧂
You were cooking dinner with your parents when you got the news that started the spiral that sent everything downhill.
You and your mother were laughing at your father’s corny jokes, simply enjoying one another’s company when Tonowari walked past your marui pod, causing you all to fall silent. Your mom gave your dad a questioning look as he makes his way to Tonowari.
꧁꧂
Ronal’s spirit sister and her baby were killed by Quaritch. Noticing how your mom’s heart clinches at Ronal’s cries reminding her of when her own sister was taken by the sky people, you place a hand on her shoulder trying to soothe your mother.
When the clan gets word on what has happened, all hell breaks loose. Your father attempts to reason with them that attacking the sky people will end in defeat but they persist. “Please, listen to my father!” You beg the people to hear him out but their war cries only grow louder.
Your father shows off the tracker to clan, silencing them all. It is decided that the clan will warn the tulkun and tell them to leave. The clan thinks this is about the Tulkun but your family knows it’s really you being hunted.
Lo’ak runs off to the docks, Neteyam and you following after him knowing he’s going to warn Payakan. Lo’ak argues with Neteyam about him being the perfect son he’ll never be and it hurts your heart. He jumps into the water and takes off on his ilu. Neteyam and you yell his name in unison as you jump in after him, commanding your ilus to follow him.
꧁꧂
When you find Payakan, he has a tracker lodged in his arm. Using the strength of You, Neteyam, Lo’ak, Rotxo, Ao’nung, and Tsireya you manage to pull the tracker out. Successfully rescuing him.
In the process Kiri, Tuk, Lo’ak, and Tsireya are captured and bound the the ship. Your parents along with the metkiyna warriors arrive aiding in the fight, Payakan does too.
Dodging every bullet from underwater effortlessly, you make your way to the ship. Emerging from the water you run to Lo’ak cutting him loose while Neteyam frees Tuk and Tsireya.
“Did ya miss me little bro?” You tease. Rolling his eyes and shaking his bound wrist “Just hurry up!”
Cutting him loose “Cmon bro lets go.” Neteyam and you begin to exit the ship but Lo’ak turns back, taking a gun from a dead sky person.
“They have spider” Lo’ak begs you and Neteyam to save him. You know how much Spider means to him, they grew up together after all. Sharing a look with Neteyam he groans and reluctantly agrees.
Together You and your brothers take out every last human in the area seamlessly. Using your knife to puncture one of its oxygen mask while kicking the back side of their knee bringing them to the floor, slitting their throat. Successfully retrieving Spider you rest your hands on your knees trying to calm your uneven breathing, “Nice kill sis!” Lo’ak praises, hitting the back of his head in response annoyed by his joking in a serious situation.
“Guys go! go!” Neteyam shouts, redirecting your attention to the avatar shooting at the three of you. Once the four of you reach cover you take the gun out of Lo’ak’s possession, firing back at your attackers.
“Lo’ak jump go!” You order and be wastes no time jumping off of the ship into the water below, the other two boys following right behind him. You stay behind continuing to fire bullets at the group shooting at you, you’re out numbered now. Quickly reciting a prayer to Eywa you dive into the water.
When you emerge from under the water you gasp at the stinging sensation in your shoulder.
“Oh shit y/n.” Spider gasps and everyone’s attention is on you in an instant. You feel yourself being pulled onto an ilu as your eyes start to feel heavy. “Y/n hey, hey, stay awake ok?” Lo’ak pleads as he cradles you in his arms.
꧁꧂
“Watch her head! Watch her head” You hear someone frantically yell. You gather that you’re being pulled onto some form of land. Feeling strong hands grasp your shoulders examining your body, your eyes flutter open. “Babygirl? Hey sweetie keep your eyes open for me yeah?”
You feel heavy, your eyes are clouded with tears, everything hurts. As you blink in and out of consciousness you notice everyone is hovering around you in a circle, and a new figure emerges.
“Oh my sweet girl, Eywa please.” She begs “Momma i’m scared, I want- I want to go home.” You choke out, through the pain getting worse and worse by the second. “We’re going home baby, we’re going home.”
Your eyes unfocus from the world around you.
You can hear cries from over you but you no longer have the energy to inspect it.
꧁꧂
Your eyes open to Tsireya and Ronal kneeling over you. You groan at the light beaming painfully into your eyes. “She is awake, everyone she is awake!” Tsireya calls out and in an instant your family rushes in.
Your mother walks up to you falling to her knees at the sight of your hurting figure. “Thank you great mother, thank you.” Hot tears fall from her face onto your chest as she litters kisses on your forehead.
Looking to your other side you see your dad staring at you with puffy eyes and tear stained cheeks. “Dad it’s ok, i’m ok now.” You reassure. Your voice is hoarse and dry, from the lack of talking you’ve been doing.
“I’m just happy so you’re safe baby.” Your dad says sending you a close lipped smile. Using all the strength in your body you extend your arms out to your family, inviting them into all into a hug.
Your parents place their foreheads on yours, your brothers hold each of your hands, and your sisters rest their heads on each of your legs.
Melting into your family’s embrace, burning this moment into your memory.
Sully’s stick together.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝, 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝. | Neteyam Sully
Tumblr media Tumblr media
𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 : idk if u write pure angst but, but, but i have a request. what about a neteyam x fem!reader where whenever she is in danger he always manages to get there in time to save her? something like '2 times he's in time and 1 time he's too late' [or almost too late, if u r not in the mood for a bad ending] (?) sorry if this doesn't make sense, english is not my first language :((
𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 : neteyam x fem!omaticayan reader
𝐚𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫'𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬 : hi! this request got so much love so here goes nothing. you didn't specify if you wanted the reader to be human or na'vi, so i picked what i thought would best flow with the narrative :3. i slightly deviated from what's canon in the film as well. sorry, this took so long to get out and some of the tags were not working. - once again, feedback is much appreciated. enjoy!! (also i highly suggest listening to waiting room by phoebe bridgers whilst reading this.. i would link it but they took it off spotify).
𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 : atwow spoilers, injuries, angst, fluff, character death, blood, some cussing, mild gore (descriptive fight scenes), neteyam sickeningly in lword, established relationship, sully family being <3333, heartbreak!!!!! reader is a badass warrior.

Tulkun - a large, intelligent marine species native to the oceans of Pandora. Each Metkayina member engages a lifelong bond with a tulkun early in their life, whom they call their spirit brother/sister.
Payakan - Payakan is a young tulkun who befriends Lo'ak, one of Jake Sully and Neytiri's children, after saving his life.
Tumblr media
Neteyam and yourself were a force to reckon with. Your souls are intertwined and saved for one another. It was unspoken throughout the clan that you would be each other's mates when the right time came. An official seal, partners for a lifetime - even once your spirit settles with Eywa.
That's how it was supposed to be.
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄.
𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄, he had been worried that due to his father's insistent training, he would have missed the date you'd planned. As he made his way through the clearing of your "secret spot", he immediately halted. Getting into a defensive stance as he reached for his bow and arrows.
You stood still, while a few meters away from you - a Thanator crept closer and closer. Y/n had not thought to bring her bow and arrows, only a hunting knife.
For once she had not thought to bring more protection, just wanting to be at peace with her favourite person. She didn't know she would stumble into any trouble, they weren't even that far from home.
In the Omaticaya clan, you were the most sought out for your hunting skills. But nothing could prepare you for this. While hand-on-hand combat was something you continued to learn from Toruk Makto, you'd only seen a Thanator in the wild very few times. You knew to never engage, hide and calm your breathing - do not make contact.
But it was too late for that now, wasn't it?
Neteyam's heart missed a beat, but the arrow he aimed at the Thanator didn't. It pierced through one of its legs. Letting out a ferocious raw as it barred its teeth at you both. He didn't stand down, shooting another arrow - this time sinking into its other leg.
The Thanator let out a low whine, its eyes calculating. Before pivoting and disappearing back into the jungle.
It was silent for a few moments, the adrenaline still ramping itself up in both your bones. Making your way over to him you brought him into a hug, leaning your head on his chest.
It felt like leaves had been shoved down your throat as you struggled to speak from the sheer shock. "Always my savior, thank you 'Teyam."
He scoffed, smoothing down your braids and pressing his lips to your forehead not letting up. He muttered against your skin, so gently.
"That could have gone a lot worse, yawntu." His eyes flittered around your surroundings, his ears perked up and tail swooshing in high alert still.
Squeezing his shoulders, you tried to ease some of his tension. Rubbing your nose against his, before taking a step back.
"But it didn't! My warrior, the mighty Neteyam Sully! The crowd goes wild, ahhhh!" You cupped your hands around your mouth, making a show of it all.
Rolling his eyes at your childish actions, he bent down retrieving what his dad called a "picnic mat" and the basket you had hand-woven for these special occasions.
"Come on, silly. Let's head back, the Thanator could still be around for all we know."
You pouted at his words, accepting the free hand he held out for you.
"What about our date?"
"We could do it at the stream closer to home."
"Okay fine, I can get behind that."
He ruffled your hair, admiring your feline-like eyes that squinted at the gleaming sun. Your nose scrunching at the force of it all.
Yeah, he'd never get tired of this.
His soul felt electrified whenever he was in your presence. You brought out a side of him that he concealed to try to live up to the mantle of "the golden child".
You were aware of the pressure and how tiring it made him feel. The demand was ultimately too much for someone as young as him to carry on his shoulders sometimes. But he looked up to his parents, and Y/n couldn't blame him for doing so.
He's your other half, and you'll always support him and his endeavors.
That's why you loved moments like these, not including the Thanator. But you felt reassured that he'd always have your back, as you would with his. It felt like second nature to you at this point.
Loving Neteyam.
This was the way of life for you both, and while it sometimes got a little messy - you always found your personal ways back to one another. Even when duty calls, even if you only catch glimpses of each other for a few days.
He would always leave a mark on you, whether it was the multitude of armbands he would weave intricately for you. The ones he'd whine for you to wear so your clan knew of his intentions as if they didn't already. Or perhaps a searing kiss full of yearning and a lifetime of promises.
Neteyam kept to himself a lot, due to his constant strenuous training he didn't mingle like other kids his age would. Sure maybe with the elders, but he didn't exactly have a core group of friends his age - only his family.
And you, you.
His normalcy amongst the ever so often brewing chaos. A semblance of ease always coursed through him even when you'd bask in each other's presence in silence. He greatly valued anytime he had with you, and when he wasn't with you. Neteyam would always think of you and worship the ground you walked on.
Like how you felt loving him was second nature, the thought of you circling his mind came as easy to him as the action of breathing.
That's who you are to each other, always filling in the cracks. Not leaving a rock unturned, words did not have to be spoken out loud to prove your inclination to one another. It was already written in both of your dispositions.
A devotion so boundless does come with conflict though.
But you didn't ponder on that for the time being, instead, you let Neteyam guide you back home. The date had yet to even properly start.
If only you knew he'd be called back to his duties as the chief's son.

This wasn't the plan. All Lo'ak had wanted to do was see some sort of wreckage that had been left behind from the war his father had led.
You were going to stay behind but Tuk insisted she wanted you to come with them, and that you had to join her. There was no way you could deny her cute pout and glassy amber eyes.
So you did just that, you accompanied them.
Time seemed to escape you all, too enthralled by what was left of the wreckage from what seemed to be a demon-flying mechanism of sorts that had been brought down. The foliage that surrounded you all as Woodsprites twinkled and fluttered with the soothing breeze.
After you all got back down from the tree and found Kiri, it was time to make the trek back home.
"We really need to head back before the Eclipse comes kiddos. Come on, move it! Let's go!" You mused, urging them to quicken their pace.
You halted as Lo'ak and Spider peered down at a large footprint.
"What is it?" Kiri insisted.
"We're always supposed to be home by eclipse", Tuk worried. Y/n patted her head in comfort as she looked down at the marking molded into the mud.
"That's way too big for a human", Lo'ak noted.
"Avatars?" Spider questioned in response.
"Maybe..." Lo'ak trailed off as he looked around him.
Lo'ak was suddenly determined to find out who they had belonged too. "They're for sure not ours."
"What are you doing?" Kiri inquired, confused as to why they were straying away from the direction that would guide them back to base.
"Shh, tracking." He controlled his steps as you all reluctantly followed him.
"This is ridiculous, I am not letting Neteyam take the blame for this one," Y/n stressed. Knowing somehow he'd try to put the baggage of this situation back on him.
Tuk mumbled Neteyam, under her breath, and smiled. Making you ease your worries and grin down at her. You loved the bond they shared.
You cursed to yourself as you crouched down behind some leaves. Staying vigilant, your grip on your bow tightened as you made sure to be hyperaware of any sudden noises surrounding you all.
Nervously you bit down on your bottom lips as you saw figures up ahead. Avatars in military gear? This isn't looking good.
Kiri sensing your worries, placed a hand on your shoulder as she looked at the Avatars as well. "We are never supposed to come here."
"Dad is going to ground you-", She continued whispering quietly
"Shhh, shhh."
"- for life!" You nodded your head in agreement as you flicked Lo'aks ear in annoyance.
"Ow!" He muttered quietly glaring at you, only to cower down at your fierce glare.
"Yo, we gotta go check this out," Lo'ak turned back around and said to Spider, nodding his head over to the infamous old shack. The place where the demon (Spider's dad) and Jake Sully had fought.
Y/n hissed at them, grabbing Lo'ak by his ear (again). He smacked her arm at the action.
"You two dipshits are really pushing it this time!" Y/n fumed, if she wasn't on edge before - she's definitely dangling over it now.
"It's going to be fine, we'll be on our own merry way before you know it! Now please, let go of my ear!" Lo'ak insisted, you rolled your eyes before letting it go.
She knew better than to put a stop to his actions because she simply couldn't. Lo'ak was an unstoppable force once he sets his mind on doing something.
Kiri groaned quietly. "Skxwang."
Your gut had a bad feeling about all this. This needs to be called in. They weren't like your people. Avatars that were carrying a lot of deadly weaponry. The ones that would come from the raids ordered by your Olo'eyktan. These people were dangerous.
Great mother, you gotta get out of here.
Keeping a close eye on Lo'ak and Spider, you whispered to Kiri and Tuk.
"Get ready to head out." They nodded at you, starting to realise the seriousness of this situation.
Lo'ak seemed to have read your mind, as they made their way back to the rest of you guys - he pressed his comms button attached to his upper neck.
He conversed with his father, telling him what he could see about the Avatars. Their location and who he was with.
You listened in with your own comms, one that Jake and Neytiri had graciously gifted to you.
Neteyam growled at the mention of your name and Tuk's.
"Y/n is there?" Neteyam asked through clenched teeth. The grip he had on his Ikran tightened turning his once blue knuckles almost stark white.
"It's going to be fine, yawntu. We're moving out." You tried your best to reassure him.
Neteyam looked at his parents, they could only nod at him to help him regain focus. Neytiri had only seen such worry cross her son's features very few times, she too knew this was a dire situation.
Neteyam closed his eyes for a short moment, processing. "Okay, we're on our way. I'm taking our shortcut."
Lo'ak looked at you in question, but you ignored it. Now is not the time.
"Hurry, let's go!" You ushered them out from the bushes, trying to head as far away from the old shack as you possibly could. You made sure to stay behind all of them, constantly turning your head to look back.
"We're all going to be in so much trouble!" Kiri spoke in a hushed tone.
Lo'ak turned to his sister. "Kiri, stop."
"Guys, come on!" Spider said.
Tuk looked back at you all. "It's almost Eclipse, come on!"
You were about to agree with Tuk before a pair of arms reached out from the hanging branches - grabbing onto her small body.
Her shrill scream immediately shifted you into the headspace you'd enter when on raids. Clasping your bow and arrow you aimed it at the unknown Na'vi. Before you could release the arrow, more of them popped out from the foliage surrounding you all.
Hissing, you put your backs against one another as they closed in on you guys.
"Put it down, put it down!" They ordered.
There was a lot of commotion, and you noted how they were speaking in English and not your native tongue. They definitely aren't from here, even if their bodies say otherwise. A lot of commotion was occurring, but your eyes never strayed from Tuks.
Lo'ak cautioned you all, "Guys. Put it down, put it down." He spoke in your language, you'll tell him how smart he is for doing so later.
You snarled but followed him. You knew there were too many of them, there was no way of getting out of this unless one of you got hurt. Trying to strategize you thought of ways to work yourself all out of this situation. But it was too late, they apprehended all of you.
"Mawey, Mawey." Kiri tried to calm Tuk down through all the yelling and sudden movements.
"Shut up, don't move!"
"What have we here?" One of them said. But he seemed different to the rest, more commandeering, and authoritative. He was the leader for sure.
It seemed Y/n's thoughts not too long ago predicted what was about to happen.
Before you knew it. You knocked your forehead into the Na'vi whose hand lingered too long on your waist and gripped tightly on your braids.
He retaliated by smacking your head with the barrel of his gun. Laughing as you fell to the ground, face being pushed further into the floor by the sole of his boot that he was wearing.
He chuckled, pressing down harder earning a grunt of pain from you. "We got ourselves a feisty one, would you look at that!" His comrades laughed and jeered at his comment.
Your friends though, oh they were livid.
"Y/n!" Tuk wailed for you, as Lo'ak did his best to not cause mayhem.
"Get up." You groaned as he anchored you up by your braids. Y/n looked at her armband through her blurry vision, reminding herself to not cause more of a scene. For she feared what she could lose.
"Mawey, Mawey, I'm alright." You choked out, continuing like Lo'ak to speak Na'vi.
"As I was gonna say before I was so rudely interrupted." The leader once again spoke. He looked at each one of you inquisitively, before one of his people showed him Kiri's hands.
These were the times you were grateful that the Sully children wanted you to learn english alongside them. You caught on to what they were assuming about Kiri. All of you did.
Y/n barred her teeth as the idiotic man once again yanked on Kiri's hair, feeling panicky as their leader approached Lo'ak.
He demanded Lo'ak to show him his fingers, only to get flipped off. You could only watch in pride, he truly was his father's son.
As he continued to nag at Lo'ak you could only ponder what they wanted from all of you, how could they know these were the children of Toruk Makto?
"No!" Y/n protested as he put a knife to Lo'aks neck. But the man holding her captive only strengthened the grip he had on her head of hair. You knew he wouldn't disclose his dads whereabouts, and they didn't need to know either that they were already on their way to help you all out.
When the leader spoke in Na'vi it took everything in your willpower to not mock him for how butchered his pronunciation was. These were definitely people from the sky.
"Get away from her!" Y/n screamed as Spider and Lo'ak joined alongside her telling him to get the hell away from Kiri.
As he spoke to Spider, your eyes met Kiri's. She worriedly glanced at your bleeding head from the gun being slammed into you. But to soothe her you simply mouthed that you were okay.
You were all going to get out of this, alive.
"Miles?"
"Nobody calls me that," Spider said in response.
Your eyes widened in realisation, as did Lo'ak and Kiri's. The man standing before you was Miles Quaritch, Spider's father who was supposed to be deceased.
The sky demon who raged war on your homeland, the one who had killed your father in battle.
You were not about to let him take away any more of your family. Y/n wanted to kill him. How dare he have a second chance at life, in a world like Pandora which he completely takes for granted?
Quaritch stands up, gazing around. "We are standing by for extract, over."
Extract? No, they aren't here yet.
Y/n struggled to fight against the tight hold on her as they started to move away from where they'd been ambushed.
"Let us go!" Kiri begged, pain evident in her voice. You could only shake your head at her, not wanting for her to receive the same brutal treatment you'd just experienced.
"Shut up!" The bald ugly one seethed. Demon trash.
As you were shoved to the ground you could only look up at the clear skies above you. Silently, Y/n prayed to Eywa in hopes they'd be rescued before it was too late.
࿐ ࿔*:・゚˳೫˚
Eclipse was nearing, and the gleaming sun was starting to fade away and rest for the night. You only wished you could do the same, but being held as a "viable prisoner" unfortunately hinders that.
But not too far from where you and the rest waited to be saved, there were three people who landed on a tree branch. Hopping off their Ikrans, they sought to do just that. To save the ones they loved most.
"You stay with the Ikrans," Jake ordered his son.
Neteyam could only shut his eyes in annoyance, his stance shifting to convey his determination. There was a fire burning in his eyes, and it wasn't going to cease any time soon.
"Dad, I'm a warrior like you. I'm supposed to fight," He urged. No, he pleaded.
He could not just stand here and tend to the Ikrans. The mere thought of doing so was agonizing enough for him. To wait for you and his siblings to return safely.
The boy could only let his fingertips brush against the choker you had made and gifted him only the night before.
"Neteyam," Neytiri understood her son's worries. But she already had more than enough on her plate.
Jake gave a slight shake of his head, "I won't say it again."
"But dad! She's-", He tried to counteract. Sway his parents somehow, his hands yearned for revenge. The anguish on the tip of his tongue, his bow weighing on his back like a ton of bricks.
"I know, son. And I will get her back too. Just, stay here." Jake sighed, placing his hand on Neteyam's shoulder for a moment.
Before Neteyam could try to rebut, his parents had already begun venturing off methodically.
"Yes sir." He muttered to himself, walking back over to his Ikran and placing a gentle hand on it.
He had to think of his own plan.
Meanwhile, the bioluminescence beginning to flourish right before your eyes made your heart stumble on itself. She didn't know who was going to arrive first anymore. Her saviors, or soon-to-be tormentors.
Your thoughts continued to remain astray as the rain pelted down on your skin. Y/n did not let it show how the water seeping into her open wound located at the side of her head had caused her immense pain. Instead, she clenched her jaw and continued to watch over her family.
Y/n's ears perked at the static coming from a set of comms, something, something. 3 minutes.
She had to resort to something else then, she has to devise her own plan.
Quaritch though, couldn't shake a feeling that something was awry.
"Watch our 6."
You tried to angle your head to try to watch over Spider and Kiri. Only to fall short at the harsh tug of your ear.
"Keep your eyes forward."
You glared into nothingness, Y/n had never felt so utterly disposable.
Neytiri could only watch on as she pressed herself further into the tree. She had a clear sight of all of you. Something untamed bubbled within her having to witness her children in such a vulnerable state.
Then you heard it, Neytiri's call. Sounding again and again. To any person it'd sound like one of the many animals dominating the jungle, but you knew otherwise.
Catching on to this, Lo'ak gave an affirmative nod to all of you.
It's time.
Kiri prayed to Eywa, hoping to assure her mother's safety in whatever was about to ensue. But you knew the cards had been dealt, now it was time for all of you to follow along.
Instantaneously a familiar arrow sunk into the head of the man who had been guarding Kiri and Spider.
"Contact made!"
Frazzled by the gunshots, you heard a faint call of Lo'aks name. Suddenly a green mist evaded your senses.
Y/n knew now was her chance to escape.
She felt it was only right to let karma be her bitch. As soon as the chamber of the gun the man who had been guarding Y/n had emptied. He maneuvered to replace it, but before he could get far enough - you played your card.
Grasping the front of the gun, ignoring the burn from the gunpowder. You slammed it into the perpetrator's chin, making him stumble backward. Closing your fist, you landed a punch to his face for good measure.
"Tuk, race. Y/n, come on!" Lo'ak yelled for you.
As you began to run towards him, a hand wrapped around your ankle making you propel onto the dirt beneath you. Groaning, you tried to crawl away far enough to push yourself up. But something had glinted in your peripheral.
Your knife. It must have dropped from whoever had them after Neytiri shot her first arrow. You'd thank Neteyam later for having polished your knife when he added new decorative beads to it.
Choking for air, your fingertips brushed against it but a sheer force pushed your arms away from it. You snarled in pain, having reached your limit with this pathetic demon.
Channeling everything you'd learned in all your training back with your clan, you ignored the searing ache. The back of your head met his face with a sharp force.
In his moment of weakness, you scrambled for your knife. This time successfully getting it in your grasp.
You crouched in a defensive stance before him, letting out a vicious hiss as you clutched onto your knife.
"You're gonna pay-", He started to say.
You gasped, both your eyes trailing down to the arrow now wedged in his chest. He could only let out a low groan, trying to advance toward you.
Only he went flying back, another arrow hitting him dead in the forehead. But they weren't from Neytiri.
Pivoting you let out something akin to a choked sob or heave, "Neteyam!"
There he stood strong and mighty as ever. Hidden amongst the nature the jungle provides.
He'd never heard you utter his name like that. The eldest son was so used to it leaving your plush lips in either a tone of endearment or humor. Always enraptured in strings of warmth and grace.
But the way you had just spoken his name, rooted him into the ground. Neteyam never heard you so debilitated, so disoriented. It made his skin crawl in agony.
The gunshots sucked him right back in. He lunged towards you, pulling you away from the mayhem.
"Na'vi!" Someone behind you hollered.
"Rot in hell!" Your scream was directed at your tormentor, you hoped he was still alive to hear those words.
Neteyam pushed you behind him, loading his bow. But before he could shoot again you both were tackled down by Jake.
"Go! Go! Go!" He shouted, pushing you two forward as gunshots rang out.
All of you found temporary solace behind a tree trunk, Jake's arm reached out checking over you both. His eyes widened at how beaten down you looked.
"Follow me! Ready? Ready!" Jake instructed you both. This time it wasn't training though, it was life or death.
Jake stepped out, firing a few bullets at the enemies.
"Move!" Jake bellowed.
You jumped into action, pumping your legs as you run. The chilled air wooshed in your ears and nipped at your cheeks. You hauled yourself over the roots of the trees engulfing you. Narrowly, missing the gunshots as you reminded yourself to not look back.
It didn't sit well with Jake how he was the one ahead and you two were behind him. "Come on!" He yelled.
Neteyam grabbed your hips, pushing you over an abnormally larger root than the rest of the others, understanding the pain you must be in right now.
He knew you were more than capable of getting over it. He just wouldn't be able to get over himself if you sustained even more injuries. It also gave him great comfort being able to see you right in front of him.
You don't know how long you ran for, only finally coming to a stop in a small clearing. Falling to your knees, you tried to catch your breath.
Neteyam had so much to say as he looked down at you, but he physically was in too much shock at the moment. So he chose to settle down beside you, bringing you into his arms carefully.
Jake brought you two once again - to a tree. There you leaned against it, waiting in silence for everyone else.
Soon the rustling of leaves grabbed your attention. Jake held a warning hand to you both, signaling you guys to stay put.
Lo'ak and Tuk made their way to you guys. Giving each other tender hugs, you graciously thanked Eywa for keeping them safe.
As Lo'ak leaned his head on your shoulder, he mumbled an apology to you.
"I'm so sorry for leaving you behind. Tuk was terrified, and I had to get her out of there."
You patted his head, allowing him to lean back and look at you.
"You did what was right, Lo'ak. I have no ill feelings toward you. I'm just grateful you're both okay." Y/n reassured him, as she kissed Tuk on the forehead.
Movement suddenly came from behind you, Jake pushed you and his children behind him - again.
Breaking out from the foliage was a worrisome Kiri and Neytiri.
"Mom!" Tuk cried, running to them. You sluggishly followed her.
Neytiri brought you, girls, into a hug as she too thanked Eywa numerous times that you were all here. She'd never had a reminder as harsh as this.
What she could have just lost.
Neteyam gravitated towards you after Jake embraced both him and Lo'ak.
He looked over at you, eyes and hands trailing.
"We need to get you patched up, grandma can help." He whispered to you, hands hovering over your bruised face.
Inwardly, Neteyam was seething. So many rhetorical questions were prodding at his brain. How you were already wounded when he first saw you? What else had they done to you?
Y/n crooned - "No, no. I'm fine, I'm okay."
"You are not!" He grunted.
His eyes looked dazed, far away. Neteyam was still in a state of terror. Not only had his siblings been put in danger, but his partner in crime as well. His person, was right in the thick of it.
He didn't want to linger on what could have happened if he and his parents came any later. He didn't want to fathom the thought of not just Spider being abducted, but all of you as well.
If his arrow had missed, if anything had gone remotely wrong...
As if you could read his mind, somehow capture his thoughts. Your thumb brushed over his cheek. Your other hand moving to cradle the back of his head as your hand sunk into his braids. Treading your fingers through it you leaned your head against his.
"I'm right here, Neteyam. We're all going to be okay."
Neteyam could only nod as he brought you into another longing embrace.
He'd do whatever it takes for you to stay by each other's sides. Whatever it takes, he will always protect you. Even when he is gone from this world, he vowed to himself right then and there - that he'd still look out for you.
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄.
Awa'atlu grew on you over time. It took a while, a lot of adjusting, and taking new things in stride. But you made it this far now, and you felt like maybe this place was truly becoming your home.
It truly felt like a juxtaposition, from the forest - now to the water. Somehow it brought you comfort, Eywa constructed such beautiful places. The community around you, while hostile at first - was also beginning to warm up to all of you too.
Alongside your mother, you had followed the Sullys as you seek out a new place that would hopefully grant you Uturu.
It was truly a challenge, having to stay hidden to keep the people back in your clan safe. You knew it was the right call.
But now the tides were pulling themselves in, dread encompassing the place you were still trying to gain more understanding of.
Your luck was running thin. All you wanted to do was help Lo'ak save Payakan. To be there for your people, your new clan.
It seemed the world had other plans though.
Now you were stuck on the demon ship. Handcuffed to the rails alongside Lo'ak, Tsireya, and Tuk. Snarling you checked the restraints out, you realised you'd have to cut into it to be released. Dammit.
"Be brave," Lo'ak tried to remain optimistic.
Y/n could only hope that Neteyam had gotten back to safety far away from all this.
All your ears perked up, hearing the distinct calls of the Metkayina clan. You could see them in the distance flying on their Skimwings towards the ship.
"Na'vi inbound!" Someone yelled.
"Push left, spread out." Another commanded them.
Tuk had faith, they were all going to get out of this alive. "Dad," she called out to him.
"It's Sully."
Quaritch ripped the comms off from Lo'ak as the Metkayina came to a still in the water a few hundred yards away from you all.
"Jake, tell your friends to stand down. If you want your kids back, you'll come out alone." Quatrich asserted, grasping his gun and pressing it to the side of Lo'aks head.
Tsireya and you yelled for him to stop, whilst Tuk began to cry.
"You know better to test my result."
Y/n wished she could listen in, but she looked around for her mother instead. She noted how Neytiri and Melìew were nowhere to be seen. Must be up in the sky, hovering.
Quaritch was running out of patience, he moved the gun to your head instead.
"She took one of ours, maybe it's time to take one of yours. Like I said, do not test me!" You held your breath, trying not to make any sudden sound or movement.
Your blood ran cold, Y/n did not want to die this way. Especially not now, not when she has so much more reasons to live and experiences to fulfill.
Through gritted teeth, Quaritch challenged Jake. "Do I make myself clear?"
He stepped back, the weight of the gun easing off your head. Y/n looked on to where Jake and the Olo'eyktan and Tsahìk were having a heated discussion.
It gave you a moment to ponder on Quaritch's words from before. She hadn't killed one of the sky people. But Neteyam did.
In the midst of all the fighting, it must have looked to them like it had been her doing. Whatever, that was the least of her worries at this time being.
Quaritch once again spoke to Jake through the stolen comms. "Offers beginning to expire. What's it gonna be?"
Y/n looked to Lo'ak after hearing him curse quietly, following his eyes you saw his father pushing on - alone.
"Easy shot." One of the fake Na'vi beckoned.
"You hit him now, they attack. Wait until he's on board."
Lo'ak and yourself let out frustrated groans through harshly gritted teeth. You were defenseless.
Abruptly water shot up as a familiar looking Tulkun shot out from beneath the ocean.
"Payakan", Tuk yelled out.
Water rained down on you all as he launched himself on top of the ship. You watched in astonishment as he wreaked havoc.
"Argh!" You grunted, pushing a nearby soldier to Payakan. Lo'ak mimicked your actions as he called out for his brother.
"Yeah!" Lo'ak whooped.
"Holy shit," You gaped as Payakan deflected the harpoon and dove back into the ocean.
The sound of gunshots had your ears ringing as you watched the Metkayina charge at the sky people. Sighing in relief as you saw your mother on her Ikran flying side by side with Neytiri.
Y/n could only observe as the sky people hopped on their own Ikrans and flew upwards. While everyone fought each other you used this to your advantage, trying to break free from your restraints.
Neytiri and your mother flew over the ship, looking down at their children in horror. Both of them shot arrows into the gunships that attempted to fly into the battle.
The ship suddenly jerked, before moving at a far faster pace. Shrieking as you were suddenly suspended in the air, before knocking back down onto the ship.
Water sprayed at all of you on impact. Lo'ak let out a pained groan as he pushed himself up, kicking at the rails.
"Are you okay," he asked all of you. You all nodded, before following his motions and kicking the rail as well.
Alarms sounded all around the ship. You needed to get out of here.
Suddenly, Tuk gasped gleefully. "Neteyam!"
Your head whipped to the side, distracted by pushing at the railing.
He held a knife in his head, grinning - "Hey baby brother, you need some help?"
"You're ridiculous," Y/n mused. Her heart soared at the sight of her boyfriend unharmed.
"Shut up, come on!" Lo'ak replied, looking over his shoulders to see no one was paying attention to them.
He quickly cut Tsireya out of her restraints, and moving onto Tuk he did the same.
Now it was your turn.
He gazes into your eyes, fighting off the instinct to caress your face. Cutting you out of your restraints, he could finally breathe easier. His hands hovered over your wrists seeing the angry red marks that now tainted your deep blue skin.
He looked to Tsireya and you, "Get tuk out of here."
Nodding, you grasped onto Tuk's arm running to the edge of the ship. You turned around as Neteyam stumbled towards you, eyes squinting seeing Lo'ak had rushed the other way.
"Lo'ak!" He called for his brother, making his way back to him as the younger brother grabbed a gun. You watched them bicker back and forth, rolling your eyes at their idiotic antics.
"Tsireya go, we'll meet you there," Y/n said as she took her knife out.
"No, Y/n!" Tuk pouted at you.
Leaning down you kissed her forehead, "I'll be back soon".
Y/n nodded at Tsireya before making her way over to the two Skxwangs.
"Come on bro, we can't leave him!"
You tugged on Neteyam's arm, "What's going on?"
"We've gotta get Spider!" Lo'ak exclaimed.
Y/n tilted her head up to meet Neteyam's eyes. He look troubled, but he knew if he didn't follow - Lo'ak would venture on this mission by himself.
It's just, something felt off.
You knew in those few seconds, Neteyam had the same gut feeling you did. It wasn't that you didn't want to save Spider, but the circumstances of everything were already against you all. Y/n had a terrible feeling about this, and the last time she had this feeling was at the Old Shack.
But you weren't going to leave them behind. Looking around, you also decided to pick up a gun.
Neteyam, realising the intent of your actions fought against them weakly. "No, go with Tuk."
You stared him down. He knew you already made up your mind.
Sighing, he pushed you in front of him. Each of you crept further into the ship, jumping on a nearby wall and climbing to the ceiling.
Y/n tuned out the sounds of the people running beneath her frantically. Choosing to continue to move along.
The three of you made your way onto some sort of connecting platform. Lo'ak put a finger to his lips, before pointing down below. Neteyam and Y/n peered over the edge, seeing Spider being guarded by multiple men.
As they rounded the corner, Neteyam signed "Jump down when I do".
In a matter of seconds he leaped down, you and Lo'ak closely following behind. You pushed one of the men into the nearest wall, immediately slicing his throat.
A hand came at your shoulder and gripped it harshly, but you quickly grabbed it as you turned around. Slamming the man into the ground you leaned down, holding the man's head - you stabbed your knife in his chest.
As you got back up, Neteyam suddenly pushed you out of the way. He grabbed the man who was charging at you and threw him down the ship.
Silence. Your adrenaline had your hands shaking, but before anyone could say a word - one of the men got up grasping his gun.
Lo'ak bet him to it, firing a bunch of rounds and shooting the man down.
Your eyes widened in shock, "Bro come on", Spider called.
Neteyam put his hand in yours, examining his brother.
"Let's go."
Neteyam tugged you along, jumping down as you all tried to figure out a way to get off this ship.
Spider thanked you all, but you saw Quaritchs right-hand man in the near distance.
"No!" Neteyam shouted, aiming the gun Lo'ak was pointing at him down to the ground. Shots were fired at you all as you crouched down rushing away from the henchmen.
"Give me that," Neteyam grabbed his gun whilst you held yours. You both peeked out, as you reached a corner. Firing in the general area the bullets were coming from.
"Go, Go, Go!" You and Neteyam yelled at the two boys.
Y/n checked behind them, witnessing them successfully leaping off the ship.
"Go, Neteyam! I am right behind you." Y/n urged, continuing to shoot at the men.
A deep guttural growl escaped him.
He wanted to complain, but the sound of more gunshots cut him off before he could do so.
He headed in the same direction Lo'ak and Spider had gone. Jumping into the ocean, he waited for you.
You looked to where the men were reloading the guns. It was now or never.
Right before you moved to leap as well, someone suddenly body-slammed you. Screaming at the impact, you desperately tried to reach for the gun that got knocked out of your hands.
A soldier held you down, and the bubble gum she had been chewing - popped. Giving you a deathly glare she dug her fingernails into your skin, drawing blood.
Y/n squirmed as she tried to resist and fight her way out of her deathly grip.
"You killed a good man in the woods. Like Colonel said, you took one of ours." She spat at you.
Any response you could have uttered was cut off by your own knife being plunged into your lower chest.
Y/n wanted to scream, to do anything but succumb to the faith that had just been handed to her. But the pain was excruciating, nothing like she'd ever felt before in her entire life.
"Rot in hell." She sneered at you.
It sounded ironic. The words you had screamed in a moment of triumph, resinated bitterly now.
She rolled you, pushing you over the edge as you plummeted into the water.
Struggling to stay afloat, all you could hear was your friends and lovers muffled cheering. Y/n could only smile to herself, at least they were all okay.
Everything else began to blur from then on, you remember them realising you were wounded. How Neteyam had never looked so disoriented in his life.
Oh, how the situations have flipped.
This wasn't the plan.
How dare he jump for safety and leave you to die? It should have been him.
"N-Neteyam." You choked out, your chest rising up and down rapidly. Y/n was grappling to stay afloat as her own hand tried to cover her stab wound.
Neteyam's heart shattered at the sight of you as he held you above water. "Shhh, save your energy. You're going to be just fine."
He took you away from prying eyes, keeping a lookout as he called for his Ilu. Lo'ak, Tsireya, and Spider were right behind him.
"Bro, we can take her to that rock over there." Lo'ak pointed, not too far but enough distance to separate you all from the sinking ship.
Neteyam nodded, continuing to hold you upright and letting you lean on him.
It felt like a million years, his entire lifetime seeming like it passed before reaching the rock.
With the help of everyone else, they lifted you on it, carrying you and settling you down.
"Watch her head, watch her head," Neteyam repeated. Pushing wet hair strands away from your face that was scrunched up in discomfort
"That could have gone a lot worse, yawntu." You quietly said.
Neteyam's smile was grim, suddenly taken back to your date in the jungle that had been interrupted by that mighty Thanator and his own personal duties back at home.
"Huh, yeah. It really could have. But it didn't" Neteyam stuttered out.
His chuckles that followed his words were forced, vision going murky at the tears that threatened to burst through his facade.
He knew even as Tsireya stuffed the stab wound with moss from the rock it was too late. There was too much blood, so much blood. For the very first and last time, he was too late.
Too late to save you, and now he didn't know what to do.
Your end is near.
Before there was an opportunity to aid you. To get you to safety - to save you from harm's way. But this time there was absolutely nothing he could do. He'd never felt so openly inferior.
All he could do was let Eywa retrieve you peacefully.
Your cries of pain tore into him, tears gushing down your face as he hushed you and tried to wipe them all away.
It devastated him to know there wasn't any way for him to feel your pain. He never wanted this to ever happen to you.
He truly thought that this move away from all the danger and war had bought you both more time.
He was a fool for thinking that life would bestow that upon him.
The sudden wooshing of Ikrans wings mingled in the tense air as Neytiri and Melìew landed on the rock. Jake, hopped off his Skimwing.
"Oh great mother, no! My daughter, my daughter!" Your mother wept as she fell onto her knees by your side.
Neteyam gripped your hand, squeezing it in reassurance.
"Mom, I did it. I'm truly a warrior." You struggled, your breath seeming to escape you quicker than you thought.
"You silly girl. You always have been. You always will be." Your mother soothed you, her hands holding your face and caressing your hair.
You meekly smiled at her, looking at everyone who surrounded you. Neytiri silently cried as Jake held her in his arms. It gave you a sense of comfort, through the pair - you saw yourself and Neteyam.
Y/n glanced at Jake, "Thank you for everything."
Jake could only bend down, pressing a hand to your leg and giving it a squeeze. He had so much to say. How wonderful you are at everything you do. The way you gave every training lesson your all. And the way you treated his son. But he had a feeling you already knew.
Neytiri moved to the free space above your head, gripping onto one of your mum's hands as she pressed a tender kiss to your forehead.
You would always be her honourary daughter, and she knew she was about to lose you. All she could do now was be here and try to give you some comfort.
"Neteyam?"
"Yes, Y/n?" Neteyam peered down at you, and you returned his gaze.
"Are we going back home?" She whispered.
He could see the light he adored so much fading away from Y/n's eyes. The faint wheeze in your breathing, and your skin losing its colour.
"Yeah we are, we're gonna finish that picnic date. You gotta prepare your basket okay? Don't forget the picnic blanket." His tears were free-falling at this point, but he no longer had the willpower to care about saving face.
All he cared about at this moment was you.
Numb to the feelings consuming your body, Y/n's smile widened. “Okay 'Teyam, can we bring our Ikrans?"
Neteyam forced himself to nod, keeping his tone of voice upbeat. "You bet, Y/n. I'll even race you."
You coughed as you giggled. Neteyam's frown deepened, as he cradled your face.
For the very last time, you nuzzled into the warmth his open palm provided. Taking in his faint yet distinct scent of salt and nature.
Peace poured into your heart and soul.
"I'm gonna win. and I'm always going to love you. I love you, and your wonderful family. I love you, I see you." You rambled, truly hoping you conveyed your last words well.
"I will always see you," Neteyam murmured, taking all of you in as well.
And then the light faded.
Tsireya was the first to realise this, she looked down at your blood coating her hands as she started to cry. Lo'ak held onto her, and Neteyam - knowing damn well he was about to need it.
"Y/n? Y/n. Y/n!" Neteyam wailed out a gut-wrenching cry for help.
He couldn't believe his eyes, he couldn't come to terms that you were no longer here.
You were with the great mother now.
"No, Y/n. Please! Come back to me!" He leaned his forehead on yours, closing his eyes tight. He prayed that when he'd open them, this would all be a ruthless lie.
That you'd be able to actually go on that other date. Live on to be each other's mates in the eyes of Eywa. To be able to witness and create a family of your own.
You'd be able to grow and flourish. Together.
His hopes and dreams were crushed the moment your last breath escaped you. Anguish and rage now consumed him.
They took you away from him. Robbed him of a life that was supposed to be spent being by your side, your eternal protector.
As his eyes opened, yours stayed the same.
His fingertips flittered over them, before closing your eyes.
Neteyam could no longer bare to look at what he had lost.
His soul, now as empty as your weightless gaze.
The cries of his family and your mother echoed in his ears, yet he maintained a tight hold on your cold hand.
This couldn't have gone any worse.
But it simply had. And now you were gone.
One with the ocean, one with the sea. Neteyam liked to think and believe they had welcomed you in harmony.

Break my soul in two looking for you But you're right here
“Are you sure, ma ‘ite? You know we wouldn’t force you into anything, but… please think it through. Eywa’s vision was clear, and it showed you two together. Eywa is never wrong, you know this.”
You thought about it, barely able to look into Mo’at's beautiful, sagacious eyes that always felt like they could see through you, through deception and conceit, and get to the soul of problem, the inner core of your amalgamation of conflicting, earth-shattering emotions, covered by a crust of barely-there composure, ready to erupt with any slight friction of the tectonic plates of your heart. You thought about last night, about his words, that still rang in your ears in a muffled cacophony of sounds you were trying your hardest to drown out, that you were scared would end up drowning you, instead.
“I loved you, Vi.I fucking loved you. You were everything to me. And you broke me.”
“Even the smallest similarity killed me, reminded me how much I hate you, how much I want to, how much I don't. I've wanted to hate you so much, I tried so hard, but you were in every dream, in every fantasy, you haunted me my whole life."
You thought about his actions, about what drove them, about how, at the end of the day, they were the same driving forces that you acted on. Hurt. Betrayal. Jealousy. Fear. You thought about your actions. How poison crept beneath your skin and pooled in your heart and pumped it through your whole bloodstream, until it was all there was, until it blinded you, and how he started this, but you continued it.
How his fault was indifference, and yours was madness that only he had the power to force out of you. You thought about his parents, and how his dad was now your dad, and how hard you fought for hearing the magic words: “we couldn’t have done it without you, kid”. Those words, and the “you’re welcome” that followed, became as necessary to you as the air you breathe. It may have started, this need to gain Jake’s approval, as a way to get a rise out of Neteyam, your best attempt at getting him to lash out at you, scream and yell, anything but the horrible silence he ordained you with, but in time, it had less to do with the boy and more to do with you, with how his dad reminded you of your own, how the words of praise and admiration made the ones you were used to, that you’d never hear again, echo through the your tent and through the forest, hidden in between the whistles and sonorous trills of birds, but never forgotten, not to you.
You thought about his specious assumptions, and your words, and how, despite what you spat at him last night, they weren’t the whole truth. You did tell Jake that you didn’t want to mate with him, but not out of a lack of love or desire. No, the thought of one day being one with the boy who shone light through the broken cracks of your soul every day after your parents died, the boy who himself shone brighter than any star or sun or galaxy out there in the vast unknown, the boy who challenged you, and annoyed you, and loved you, and got you… it made you happy. It made butterflies flutter in your stomach and tingle, it made a fuzzy feeling gather in your brain and haze your mind until it was full of nothing but misty reveries, of a life beyond your wildest dreams and fantasies, of night flights and battles won together, of family found and family kept.
You told Jake what you did because your dreams couldn’t happen while you were pushed to the side and made to undertake the duties of a Tsakarem, they couldn’t happen if you had to forsake your talents and an integral part of yourself. You thought that, by saying no, you could make your dad proud, you could make Jake proud… make him proud. You thought that by becoming the warrior you knew you could one day be, you could help him… take away some of the burden that you knew he was shouldering all by himself, that of the eldest son, the responsible child, the prodigy of the clan. More than anything, you wanted to be worthy of him and of his love. That’s why you said no.
If I can't relate to you anymore Then who am I related to?
But now, it was all wrong. Your love, your hate, your history and your future, everything you’ve done, everything you should have done. It was all wrong. O’i’en was right, you realised. You held onto this broken relationship, this hopeless promise of a mateship, not because you wanted revenge, but because you wanted him… in any way you could get him. Your undefeated stubbornness, and the war that left too many collateral victims for you to ever be able to sleep at night again, led to scars in your soul no one could ever fix, that you’d have to mend yourself in time, that you never could while in an arrangement you should have declined to begin with. It was finally time…
“I’m sure, ma Tsa’hik.”
…time to say goodbye to the child you knew - the one you were, the one he was, and the love that took too much of both of you, the one that turned to ashes in your mouth.
And if this is the long haul How'd we get here so soon?
Neteyam’s confusion was normal for the dazed, quiet astir he found himself in after just waking up. What wasn’t normal, however, is how the confusion didn’t evaporate once the blurry haze disappeared, but only deepened with the sight, or lack thereof, awaiting him in the green, luscious clearing he felt like he was reclaiming, like it could slowly be his… both of yours again. He didn’t feel this way now, in this place that all of a sudden felt barren and cold, like an endless tundra, like his soul felt. You were gone.
In a way, it was to be expected. In some way, Neteyam knew last night was a just a fluke, a heady combination of overflowing of intense emotions that were too intense to be contained, that had to be released in the only way you both knew how, in the only way that would push the hurt aside and leave only a mess of denial and pleasure in its wake, because an orgasm is always easier to deal with than the pain that came with the cathartic act of confession, of owning up to your mistakes, of talking through years of hurt pent up in your already broken soul. You both did what you did best, so Neteyam shouldn’t be surprised. And yet he was.
He wasn’t only surprised, he realises. No, he would be happy if that was all he was. Neteyam was angry. Angry and seething, as he was, he picked himself up from the floor, the smell of you still imbedded in his nostrils, your cum still on him as he took in his naked form, before tightening his loincloth over his hips, a task easier said than done with the furious slashing of his tail whose movements he couldn’t control, no matter how hard he tried. He didn’t know why such intense, overpowering anger was washing over him in tidal waves that were crushing his spirit under their monstrous weight, removing any reason from his mind, any sane reasoning or critical thinking. Why would he expect you to stay? You didn’t owe him anything, and this changed nothing. Nothing’s different. Neither of you admitted to anything, neither were able to admit to the fault either of you had in the unraveling of your relationship, in the actions that lead to death and hurt, to pain and loss. So why did it matter?
"The first step in solving any problem is recognising there is one, brother. The sooner you admit your feelings, the sooner you can work towards fixing your broken relationship."
Did I close my fist around something delicate? Did I shatter you?
With a sigh, Neteyam made his way back to the village, hoping that once he saw you, all the answers would come rushing back to him, would make it perfectly clear as to the path he was supposed to take, the words that he was supposed to utter, which puerile confessions were better said and which better left gathering dust in the back of the rooms of his heart. When he saw you, he'd finally know...
The day was in full swing in the clan, as people were making the final preparations for the funeral processions that would take place once eclipse settled in. Neteyam winced at the mourning families, at the bodies laid on the floor, covered in leaves and flowers, in the way they'd remain, until their flesh would return to Eywa, return to the nature from which they were born, allowing for growth that would keep the community going. One life ends, another begins. That saying was as much part of him as any organ, any physical aspect of him was. That saying was the dogma of the Omaticaya, of the Na'vi as a whole. He knew it by heart, its meaning coursed through his veins, and yet, it didn't lessen the blow. It didn't stop the hurt and the pain of having to watch it, having to know to some extent, he was at fault for it.
He expected to see you by now, lending a hand, despite the fact you should be taking it easy - you were never one for rule following, and although you got better in time, especially after your blooming relationship with O’i’en, who, despite it killing Neteyam to admit, was a positive influence in your life, some things about you would never change. The need to help, to be of use, to prove your worth, the need to feel like you’re making an effort, the need to hide your pain deep inside yourself, no matter how hard life was grinding you down, it was intrinsic to you in a way you would never be able to shake. And so Neteyam was sure he'd see you here. But he didn't. Instead, he saw his mother, spotting him from across the patch of forest they called home, eyeing him intently, with a blend of emotions Neteyam couldn't quite place. There was a heaviness to her, which he couldn't say he felt surprised about, but the twinge of fear and pity in her eyes, clearly directed at her eldest son, was something he didn't expect to see, and it scared him. Without any thought, he tracked towards his family's tent, unable to break his gaze from her, whose own fell to the floor, before turning away and entering the home, the flaps swinging closed behind her, the sudden chasm between them putting a knot in Neteyam's throat. Something was wrong. What else could be wrong?
And I'm sitting on a bench in Coney Island Wondering, "Where did my baby go?"
"Sa'nok, nawm sa'nok, Oel Ngati Kameie."
His grandmother's permanent serious expression was somehow even more pronounced now, and Neteyam noticed the signs of weariness and exhaustion clear on her beautiful face. Still, with her most arduous attempt at a smile, she brought her curled fingers to her forehead and extended them in her grandson's direction, before giving her daughter a pointed look.
"What's going on?"
"Ma 'itan..."
The knot in his throat descended until it hit his stomach with a heavy splash, the feeling of dread nearly knocking him over.
"Mother, just tell me. Just please... tell me."
"She... she broke the engagement, Neteyam. What happened between you?"
The fast times, the bright lights, the merry-go Sorry for not making you my centrefold
The river that the Omaticaya used as a source of water, and nourishment, and entertainment, and hygiene, the one that was normally bustling with life and energy, was barren and deserted as you settled on its bank, leg mindlessly swinging back and forth in the cold, clear water. You focused on the way it felt, the flawless flow, as it touched your skin and how every once in a while, fish would nibble at your feet, and you were almost relieved that at least some creatures still looked at you like you were still alive. You didn’t feel like it, not anymore.
You didn’t feel like a Na’vi, like a person, more like a mix of pure grief and guilt that managed to swallow you whole, leaving just a cloud of misery in its wake. You knew you shouldn’t be here. There were better, more important things for you to do. Help was needed in the village, you needed to prepare for the ceremony, you needed to claim your ikran, wash her, cover her in the leafy shroud she would spend the rest of time in. You had to say goodbye. You owed her a proper funeral. You owed her a goodbye. And yet, your body was paralysed on the edge of this river, staring into nothingness, trying to find a way to make your mind, which was simultaneously empty and full of thoughts, each one more horrifying then the next, work and move your muscles, do the thing it always does where adrenaline takes over and makes you focus, makes you try, makes you brave. There was nothing now, not anymore.
Your ears twitched as the shrubbery rustled with movement behind you, and your scrunched nose relaxed as it picked up Jake's scent. Your coiled, immobile tail found its place nestled next to your thighs, and when you turned your head, you noticed your surrogate father, the mighty Olo'eyktan, dressed in ceremonial garbs, the red, feathery vest contrasting nicely against his dark, azure skin. You couldn’t look in his inquisitive, shocked eyes, that knew you to your core, the eyes that always looked at you with love and care, with pride and encouragement, that now you assumed would be filled with sorrow and disappointment, so you settled on looking at his headpiece, the imposing, oval stone a much more manageable sight right now.
"Kid..."
His feet picked up pace, the same way your heart did in your chest, and you let out a shocked, pained gasp as he kneeled by your side and took your body into his, his hand finding the back of your head and you melted in his embrace, listening to his erratic heartbeat that mirrored yours, that you focused on like a hymn, that pulled you out of stupor, and you watched as your tears stained his chest, before your hands found his back, tightening your grip on him.
"Sempu..."
"Shh, kid. It's ok. You're ok... we're gonna be ok."
Over and over, lost again with no surprises Disappointments close your eyes And it gets colder and colder When the sun goes down
Neteyam was trying to calm himself as he was pacing the floor of his grandmother's tent, so much so the rugs were now matted and torn. He couldn't believe this. He couldn't believe you. After everything, everything that has happened, everything you've both done... after losing O'i'en and Oare, after destroying his relationship and all his plans for the future, after promising him you would never undo this arrangement, after threatening him you'd both get to burn together... after everything... how could you do this?
The anger was all-consuming as it was lighting his every nerve on fire, as it was playing back, in his mind, over and over, your relationship, your rise and fall, the fall that never seemed to end, no matter how hard he wished for it to end, no matter how hard he didn't. He thought about how broken you both were now that the the fall did come to its unsightly end, and how it left you both in pieces, in sharp shards that found each other's flesh to dig into and lacerate, unable to stop yourself from falling apart around each other even at the bitter final act. He thought about how he should be relieved. It was all he wanted, right? You out of his life. He could go back to the girl, the girl he didn't love, no matter how hard he tried, to the life he was once envisioning for himself. If you truly gave up on him, on your quest for revenge, he should be happy. All he's wanted for the past seven years was you out of his life, right? If all you had and all you were was over... if the nightmare was over, that meant a new dawn would be breaking soon. He should want it... right?
And maybe he would want it, maybe he would be happy about it, if only there wasn't this intense hatred blinding him to the truth of the matter, to the potential this new revelation opened up in his life. Because fuck, things changed. Things changed when Oare died, when his sister talked to him, things changed when you woke up, when he found you in the clearing... things changed when you slept together. He told you things, things he didn't even know he felt, but he did feel, as you came around him, as he saw your face writhing in pleasure when you left scratches down his back. He saw your eyes as they locked with his, and in your eyes, for just a moment, there were confessions that maybe you didn't speak out loud, but maybe you didn't have to.
And then... you just... left. You left him, abandoned him without a word, or an explanation, without as much as a disdained "good riddance, asshole". How could you have done this, after everything that's happened? After everything, Neteyam felt like he deserved at least that... or anything, but not this. Not the silence, not to be told about it by his mother. He deserved more than this.
His legs stilled in place and his stomach dropped as your words, the words you shouted at him yesterday kept rushing back to him like the river after a storm, unrelenting and powerful, ready to knock out everything in their wake.
“You keeping your mouth shut and going about your life as if your life wasn’t impermeably connected to mine was what fucking hurt me, Neteyam!"
"You saying nothing, doing nothing, acting like I didn’t exist, like I was just a toy you outgrew, that was worse than anything I could have ever fucking done to you, don’t you understand that?"
"Do you understand that you abandoned me? I was everything to you, and you just acted like that meant nothing at all."
Fuck.
Do you miss the rogue Who coaxed you into paradise and left you there?
"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry, Jake." you tried to contain the cries, you did, but as he held you tightly to his chest, caressing your almost-dry braids and cooing patiently in your ear, it was harder than you could manage in the moment. The sobs were loud and coming out in broken hiccups, but you couldn't find it in you to care anymore, and he didn't seem to mind.
"I did this, we did this... Neteyam and I, this stupid war, all the fights, and the battles, and the never-ending need to make the other pay... and all for nothing! All for something he heard, something I said, that I-... If he just asked, I could have told him, I could have explained, I -... fuck!"
"Shh... hey, look at me, kid." His fingers found your chin, that he raised, despite your silent protests, and you were taken aback by his own tears falling down his face, by the unending depth of emotion behind his beautiful, yellow irises, that reminded you a little too much of his eldest son.
"This wasn't your fault, baby girl. It was mine."
"I love you, you know? So much. I look at you, and I see Neytiri, and I see myself. I see your parents, I see this clan, that I chose to be a part of, that I'm grateful for every day of my life. This clan, this family I have, that includes you, this planet... it saved me from myself, from a broken path. And the thought of losing you, losing any of it... it haunted my every dream, it turned into a recurring nightmare that kept me up at night. So I did the only thing I knew how - I tried to mould you into the soldiers I knew you needed to be in order to survive the humans and their poisoned reach, their need to hurt and kill."
You were in awe of his monologue, that you didn't want to - you couldn't - interrupt. You needed to hear this, and he needed to speak it, and so you waited, and listened, and he spoke and cried.
"I thought I was doing the right thing. A father protects. But I failed to recognise how that would affect you, how much the pressure I put on your shoulders, on Neteyam's shoulders, would come to hurt you, to push you to this point. My words and my actions were what drove you both to the dark place you find yourselves in right now, and I'm sorry."
You tightened your grip on him yet again, and let his words sink in you, pass through you. You let them succumb you, like the water in the lake as it took over your body, until you were submerged in it, until you were a different person as you emerged back into the world.
"I'm still learning, kid. We all are... We all make mistakes, and sometimes the mistakes hurt and they cut and they fester, sometimes they are big enough to take over your whole world and eclipse any light shining through. But... people deserve a second chance. People deserve to be able to make amends, to fight to show you they can do better. And I hope I'm one of those people. And I hope Neteyam is, too. I think you two were meant for each other - I saw it every day of your lives, from when you were best friends to best enemies, you completed each other, complemented each other. You made each other better... and worse. But maybe that shows that one of you can't exist without the other. That maybe the connection you have is more than anything life can throw at you, or that you can throw at each other. Maybe it's time for both of you to get a second chance."
Will you forgive my soul When you're too wise to trust me and too old to care?
Neteyam felt dizzy and nauseous, a sudden need to anchor himself onto the ground more necessary than he could ever remember feeling. Seven years worth of mistakes came rushing over him, ready to swallow him whole. Is this how you felt? This whole time... this is how you felt? So insignificant and small, so used... abandoned, angry and heartbroken... just how he felt. He made you feel this way, he made 12 year old Vi, the person he loved most in the world, feel this way. You left him, just as he left you, and now Neteyam finally could see, finally understood, that you were right. It was worse. The not knowing, the self-doubt and guilt, the feeling like you were nothing more than a toy, ready to be outgrown, knowing you were disposable to someone you thought loved you... it was worse.
He knew he had to find you, he had to, he had to talk to you, he had to tell you all the words his heart was begging him to shout of the top of his lungs, begging him to stop holding inside of it, for it was done keeping his secrets, for all it wanted was to feel again, to dream again... to love again. But it would have to wait. Just a little bit more, it would have to wait, because right now, Oare needed him. Oare would be put to her eternal rest today, and before the ceremony, she still needed to be cleaned and prepared, and while you might not feel capable of facing such a challenge right now, he could do this for you. This he could do, and would, because he needed to, and he knew, deep down, you did, too.
It took a long time, but near eclipse, the ikran was ready, and Neteyam felt a pang of hurt taking in her beauty, so ethereal and extraordinary, so much like the person who came to call her a sister. The person whose voice stopped Neteyam dead in his tracks and sent shivers down his spine.
“Neteyam…?”
When he turned, and saw you, eyes puffy and red, filled with tears that weren’t the first you were shedding, based on the deep stains on your beautiful face, your chest heaving in panted, uneven breaths, released in soft, sorrowful sobs, he couldn’t help in himself, and with a few steps, he closed the distance between you and enveloped you in a tight, rib-cracking hug, one that, to his unending relief, you reciprocated immediately.
“She’s dead, Neteyam… she’s really dead. I wasn’t there for her and now she’s dead.” You were sobbing in his chest, and he tried not to let the moment overwhelm him, this moment that felt more like dreams he’s had than the reality he had to live through, ones in which you came to him, and let your guard down, one in which he got to comfort you instead of bring you pain, ones in which you were his and he was yours, one in which things were good, and pure, like you were.
Were you waiting at our old spot In the tree line, by the gold clock? Did I leave you hanging every single day?
“I’m surprised you’re still alive after today’s training. Dad’s not going easy on you, is he?” Neteyam looked at the little girl, laying on the ground, chest heaving, with eyes of steely determination he doesn’t think are like anything he’s ever see before, and how the tears that pooled in your eyes refused to drop, no matter how oversaturated they got. The tears just didn’t drop. He watched intently, determined to see the first one fall, determined to prove to himself that a girl who’s never trained before, a girl who just lost her parents, a girl who was not from a family of warriors, like his was, wouldn’t be able to withstand the pressure that his father never failed to put on him, and he now seemed intent on putting on you.
But much to his surprise, the tears never did fall. Instead, you got up, canines sunk in so deeply, the blood was pouring out of your lower lip - anything to stop the sob of pain he knew you wanted to let out. When you were on your feet again, you ran your hands over your bloodied knees, where the gashes were still spilling red liquid from when you fell off a cliff and scraped them, before shaking them dry. Neteyam watched in awe as the blood dripped from your fingers and into the ground, and all of a sudden, he was left behind, your footsteps echoing through the forest as you made your way back to the practice arena.
“Guess he knows I can take it.”
Were you standing in the hallway with a big cake? Happy birthday Did I paint your bluest skies the darkest gray? A universe away
"Have you ever considered, Neteyam, that I'm not your enemy? I see you, waiting for me to fail, praying that your dad... and my dad, were wrong about me. Have you ever considered I could help? That if I do this, you don't have to be alone anymore?"
Neteyam's eyes went as wide as his mouth as you turned to face him once more, a soft smile on your face and crinkles around your eyes, that almost hid the soft tears that dropped down your cheeks and mingled with the blood as they reached your lips, and he felt his heart skip a beat, and then two, then three... What was happening to him?
"I'm alone, too. I'm all alone. And I'm scared... of being alone. Of ending up alone. And I think you are, too. So maybe... maybe we can be alone together."
Almost as if controlled by a disembodied presence, Neteyam's body started moving on its own accord until it reached you, until his hand was in your extended one, a peace symbol you both learnt from the once-human Olo'eyktan.
“Friends?”
“Friends.”
And when I got into the accident The sight that flashed before me was your face But when I walked up to the podium I think that I forgot to say your name
“I know… I’m so sorry, Vi.” His hands found your face, that he angled upwards to look into your eyes, holding you tightly, as if letting go meant letting go forever, and he couldn’t, not anymore, not until he told you what he needed to say. Your warm breath brought life into him as he inhaled it, and the courage given by the revelations that loomed over him his entire life, but were only manifested today, it was enough to speak the words nestled in his chest.
“I’m so sorry… not just about Oare, but about everything. Vi, you were right. I did this, I started this. I should have… I should have trusted you, and confided in you. I should have given you the respect you deserved, the consideration of telling you what hurt me. You deserved the chance to explain your point of view, and I took that from you. What you said hurt me… what my dad said hurt me, but… you were my best friend, and I should have come to you. I should never have let you go, Vi. I’m so sorry.”
The words you've waited for what seemed like your whole life opened the dam of your soul, so carefully put together over so many years, now broken as it flooded your whole being with the full force of the sorrow and relief you've buried so deep, you didn't even know if you'd be able to ever make it surface again. But there it was, and his words brought your own forth, and with Jake's words in mind, with lessons of forgiveness and second chances learnt, you spoke, hoping he'd listen, hoping these words could undo at least some of the hurt you put the other through.
“I’m sorry, too. Teyam, I’m so sorry. After losing my parents, you, this family, were all I had. You were everything to me, and I came to rely on you so much, I couldn’t envision life without you. When you left, it broke something in me. It brought back feelings I was yet to deal with, ghosts that haunted me in the middle of the night, insecurities that continue to plague me to this day, fears of being unlovable, of being too much, of not being enough. I have always been too harsh, too guarded, I have always answered every problem with my fists first and my mind second. I’ve never known how to deal with grief, and so I did it in the only way I knew how - by turning it to anger. By making you the enemy. Every time your absence hurt, I needed my presence to hurt you. And I’m sorry. I’m sorry for being cruel, I’m sorry for taking it too far. I’m so sorry.”
It was necessary, this moment that was long overdue, and although you were sorrowful of the fact it took losing so much for you to realise it, you were grateful that did come in the end. You were happy that, as you moved your head slightly to rest your ear against his chest, listening to his slowly-calming heartbeat, you felt safe again in his embrace while you finally took in your sister’s body, that he spent more time that you could even conceive getting her ready for the ceremony, when you didn't. You were grateful that you didn’t have to go through it by yourself, but with the one person who’s known Oare just as long as you, who’s loved her just as much as you loved Seze, the person who despite it all, knew you to your core - your biggest dreams, your biggest worries, your biggest fantasies, your biggest fears. And here it was, the biggest fear, manifested in front of you like a sleep-paralysis demon, that you had no choice but to brave through, but at least, right in this moment, you didn’t have to brave it alone.
"Thank you. For taking care of her while I couldn't."
"You don't have to thank me. So many things might have changed between us, but this... this never will."
The ceremony was as hard on you as you expected, and by the end, you were so spent, both physically and emotionally, you knew you were in dire need of a nap, one that didn't end in the morning, and maybe not for a few good days. You looked over at Neteyam, who kept his distance, allowing you to be caged in between Lo'ak and Kiri's bodies while you mourned, but who helped you lower Oare into the tree nook where she would lay forever, shedding silent tears as he placed an atokirina on her, his hand finding your lower back as you both said your final goodbyes.
One day, you'd find another ikran. One day, you'll be able to fly again, and think of flying as the beautiful, freeing experience you have come to rely on for your sanity and happiness for the last 7 years. One day. But not today. And not for a long time. Oare made your life special, and worth living. Flying meant what it did to you in no small part because of her. Her thoughts, peaceful and serene, a nice balance to your own, kept you steady and focused in battled, mid flight. Not being able to return the favour would be something you'll have to deal with in time, but as you felt your entire family's presence surrounding you, enveloping you in love and care, as you felt Neteyam's lips make contact with the side of your head in a gesture you've known him capable of, just not with you, you knew, one day, you'll be okay again.
'Cause we were like the mall before the internet It was the one place to be The mischief, the gift-wrapped suburban dreams
It was hot and humid in the forest as you trained - something about the deforestation brought about by the humans made the weather feel hotter, or so the human scientists told you. Either way, you felt as though you were inhaling water instead of air as you tried to catch your breath, the last drill always the hardest in the routine, always the one that broke most Na’vi who were unfortunate enough to be considered good enough to be trained directly by Toruk Makto himself… but not you. You did it, feeling fire in your lungs and sweat mingling with the blood spilling from various cuts from across your body and exacerbating the sting you felt prickling like needles throughout your whole being. Each muscle felt like it was being split in half, but you couldn’t care less. Not now, not when you were so close to beating Neteyam, not when victory would feel so sweet, not when you would be able to collapse in the dirt and pass out the moment it was over.
In the few months since the ceremony, life was more about healing for you than it had ever been. It was a nice change of pace, the peace, one you haven’t known since your parents were still alive, and for the first time in your life, you felt… almost whole. There were still things missing of course - your parents, who you kept in thoughts and prayers every day, and your sister, who you swore Eywa reincarnated in your new ikran, whose thoughts reminded you too much of hers for it to be mere coincidence.
“Vi, you better focus if you want to have any chance at beating me.”
You scoffed, and watched as he flew past you, not before sending a small wink your way, that made you lose your footing for a second, before quickly composing yourself and continuing.
“Don’t get cocky, mighty warrior.”
As far as your relationship with Neteyam went, it took a long while, but in time, you managed to mend what once seemed unmendable and earn each other’s trust once more. It was an uphill battle, most days, but you were grateful to have your best friend back, and to be able to finally meet the Neteyam everyone knew and loved, the one that was kind and considerate, funny and charming, helpful and loving to everyone around him. You were grateful that now, that included you, too. Your mateship was never brought up again, not to the family, that knew you needed this time, and was happy to let you have it. The possibility of it was no longer looming over you like a threat, but more like a golden aura of inevitability that you wouldn’t mind giving into, once the pieces were soldered back together through the mutual effort you were both willing to put into to rebuild both your broken hearts. One day he'd be yours and you'll be his…
But not today, as he beat you, with just barely a split second to spare.
“Ah, that’s too bad… maybe one day. One day, you’ll beat me at this, and on that day, Vi, I will fall to my knees in eternal servitude.”
When you kicked him in the shin, with all your might, and watched as he fell on his knees in front of you, you smirked, the grin wild and unwavering as you circled him, lifting his chin with your index finger and willing him to look in your eyes, mischievous and filled with amusement.
“Hmm, look! You’re already on your knees, Teyam. Now… about the eternal servitude…”
You had no time to react as he grabbed your wrist in his hand and pulled you towards him, until you both fell on the ground, and when he kissed you, you melted, like you normally did in the few times it has happened since that first time, in your clearing. You promised you’d take it slow, but in your defence, you were only Na’vi, and this was, in fact, a lot slower than how you wanted to take it.
You let his fingers roam your body and rejoiced at the way his lips were warm and skilled as they moved on yours, his tongue tracing your bottom lip before you parted them, allowing yourself the pleasure of this kiss, that meant so much to you, that you will never ever take for granted again.
“You taste fucking amazing, tsxepvi. Maybe next time, if you apologise and behave, you’ll actually get to cum.”
You both laughed in the kiss, and with a mental note to yourself to apologise and behave tonight, you knew you were ready to take the next step in this new life, one which neither you or Neteyam would ever have to brave alone ever again. When your lips parted, and he got up from the ground with a soft groan, images of your childhood flashed before your eyes, warm and beautiful, once more, as he stretched out a hand for you. You took it gratefully, allowing him to help you rise, making a silent promise to yourself to commit to more risings than falls, for as long as you could help it.
"Friends?"
"Friends."
The sight that flashed before me was your face Over and over, when the sound goes down

“What are they doing?” Neteyam whispers angrily, his eyes glaring into the two figures a few feet away from him that who to have forgotten his existence entirely.
Lo’ak, who was seated next to him, helping his older brother sharpen the arrow heads, snickers in amusement. His eyes took in how Neteyam watched Spider and Y/n, who laughed amongst each other's company.
Kiri had invited Spider and Y/n to hangout for the day as she leisurely gathered some herbs for her grandmother. Naturally, Lo’ak joined the group enjoying Y/n’s company and wanting to help Neteyam with his chore of the day whilst hanging out with Spider.
Neteyam, on the other hand, was beyond ecstatic when he had heard Y/n was going to join them again. The human who had the ability to breathe the dense pandorian air around her without a mask.
Over the past few weeks that she's been around, tagging along with Spider and the Sully children Neteyam has grown some sort of fondness towards the tiny human. An attraction, if you will.
He rather enjoyed her company and always looked forward to spending time with her, always looking for an excuse to be around her. Even if it meant he’d have to give up patrol to sharpen dull arrow heads just be near her. He didn’t know when or how he’d grown this attachment, but it was deep.
It could have been the moment he laid eyes on her, watching her carefully as she tried to catch her breath when she stumbled into the clearing he had been scouting upon. Or when she easily and gracefully interacted with a Atokirina (woodsprite), proving to him that she was indeed special. That she was chosen.
But he knew she took his breath away the moment her mask broke off, the moment he was able to clearly see her face without the intrusion of that human invention.
Neteyam ignored the fluttery feeling that consumed him, chalking it up to being in the heat of the moment.
But as days progressed, the more he lingered near Y/n, the more he realized the fluttery feeling was increasing, morphing into a feeling he wasn't quite familiar with.
Something new.
“What are you laughing at? I don't see anything funny…..” Neteyam grumbles in annoyance , refusing to tear his eyes away from watching how Y/n’s fingers danced around Spider’s large ones as they weaved a flower crown together.
“I've never seen you mad before” Lo’ak muses, his eyes crinkling with all the humor dwelling within. He watches how Neteyam scrunches his nose in distaste the longer he watches them.
Finally giving in he turns to his brother, his fingers gripping the quiver in his hands tightly.
“Mad? How am I mad?” Neteyam raises an unamused eyebrow at his brother's accusation causing Lo’ak to scoff.
Lo’ak gestures to Neteyam’s back, pointing at the fact his tail swished and thumped against the ground he crouched upon angrily. Clearly showcasing emotions he tried to contain.
“That means nothing, you Skxawng!” He huffs out, his yellow orbs quickly glancing at Spider and Y/n who seem to huddle close together, giggling quietly. Neteyam clenched his teeth at the sight, turning to his brother again. His murderous stare deepened causing Lo’ak to gulp back in slight fear, laughing nervously.
Lo’ak places the quiver on the soil as he raises his hands up in mock surrender, the smile remaining on his face, “Ok fine you're not mad, then explain why are you jealous?” Lo’ak smirks mischievously, finding entertainment in the way Neteyam’s eyes widened as he sputters out a quick reply.
“WHa-Me? Jealous? Pfft. Never.”
The sneaky glance that Neteyam sends Y/n’s way again does not go unnoticed as Lo’ak bursts out in laughter. Neteyam’s face flushes purple at his brother's sudden reaction.
His ears twitch, catching the sounds of Y/n’s laughs dying down. Presumably looking over at Lo’ak, who was wiping his eyes from his outburst.
“You should see the look on your face bro, you are oozing jealousy!” Lo’ak snickers, his eyes catching those of Spider’s and Y/n who wave at him playfully across the clearing. He returns it, his smirk widening as Neteyam tries to regain composure.
“If looks could kill, Spider would be dead by now” Lo’ak adds teasingly. Neteyam coughs awkwardly to clear his throat.
“What would I be jealous about? He has nothing I desire,” Neteyam points out stubbornly, his voice cracking at the end. Lo’ak turns back to his brother, resting his index finger on his chin in a thinking motion.
“Mhm, let me think” he hums, enjoying how Neteyam clung on to his words. His own chore, long forgotten.
“Maybe over the fact Spider and Y/n are super close?” He starts off, causing Neteyam to flinch at his words.
“They grew up together and in very close quarters. They’ve known nothing else , but each other,” Neteyam’s frown only deepens.
“Aaanndd……the fact that they have a lot in common. They are both human,” Lo’ak states, noting the flash of pain that crosses his brother's eyes.
Neteyam’s ears flatten against his head as his brother's words seep into him. For a moment Lo’ak feels guilty for teasing him, but if all this teasing caused Neteyam to realize his contained emotions then so be it. He would be brother of the year if he got the two clueless lovebirds together.
“T-that doesn't mean anything. Why would I even care? I just find it odd how they are so…..close all the time” Neteyam shrugs it off, not making eye contact with Lo’ak.
“Mhm, you sure you're not in denial?” Lo’ak tries again, scooting closer to the cowering older Na’vi. Neteyam jolts up, his eyes darting around Lo’ak’s with annoyance. His tail swished behind him violently at the challenge.
“I'm not! I'm just feeling……weird” he admits, looking back at the ground, he kicked the dirt in between his toes as a form of distraction. He didn’t know what he was feeling, but he didn't want to know what it was. At least not yet.
It was bad enough that he had been treating Spider differently lately, always seeming annoyed with his presence with a permanent scowl whenever he saw them together. He didn’t hate him, it’s just that recently he has been seeing him as an extra presence which he quickly got irritated by. And it was noticeable to everyone.
Lo’ak shrugs his shoulders, his eyes scanning over his brother. The way Neteyam bites his lips as he settles within his conflicting thoughts. Lo’ak couldn’t help but realize he had to help him. He needed to push a bit harder for a result.
“Can you please stop being jealous for one second and maybe consider that the reason why you feel ‘weird’ is because you-I don't know, you like her?”
“Me?!!” Neteyam raises his voice in surprise. His ears stand up in alarm, his cheeks flushing madly at his declaration. Was he? Was he in love? Did he like her that way?
Neteyam clears his throat, his lips forming into a thin line, “Lo’ak, that’s ridiculous. I don't know what you’re talking abou-“
“SPIDER!!!” Y/n hisses, catching the boys attention immediately as both their heads snap towards the duo in alarm.
Neteyam’s body grows tense as he watches Y/n launch herself off the forest floor to chase after Spider who held the finished crown over his head, effectively evading her angry swipes to grab the delicately weaved item.
“Give it back you dummy!!!” Y/n squeals, jumping up as high as her little legs could reach, her eyes furrowed in concentration.
“Not until you admit it Y/n!!” Spider challenges, winking at the smaller female who blushes at his words, halting for a mere second. She sputters, her words coming out in tiny mumbles as her eyes widen.
Lo’ak smirks at her embarrassment, he catches how Neteyam’s eyes bore into the scene before him. Especially on Y/n, and the way her beautiful s/c cheeks flushed red in embarrassment at Spider’s words. He looked angry, borderline murderous at this point. Spider had made her blush, and had made her embarrassed. And he was not happy with the revelation.
“That doesn’t brother you bro?” Lo’ak whispers, nudging his brother's stiff shoulder. Neteyam grunts in reply, not even turning La’ak’s way to respond to him.
“Shit, wait! Y/n!” Spider begs, losing balance for a mere second. A second that greatly switched their power dynamic. Y/n smirks triumphantly as she grabs the crown in between her tiny fingers, she quickly packs it into her tiny pouch before smirking mischievously at Spider.
“You are sooo dead!”
In an instant Y/n grabs the startled boy by his neck, bringing him down for a headlock. Spider desperately tried to pull free but to no avail as she made sure to keep him in place, her other hand reaching up to rustle against his head in a painful way.
Lo’ak bursts out in laughter, a 6’ft man being completely defeated by a tinier girl couldn’t look any funnier. The more Spider struggled, the louder his laughs got.
“Bro! Help!!” Spider begs briefly making eye contact with Lo’ak before Y/n swipes her free leg under Spider, causing his to kneel down in pain as her grip tightens. The new angle proved to be funnier and that much more entertaining as Spider struggled that much harder.
But not to everyone. Spider was tightly pressed against Y/n. Even though it was an innocent act, it didn’t bode well with a certain warrior.
Neteyam gets up in a flash, quickly rushing to their side before Lo’ak could even process where his brother has disappeared too. He watches in shock as Neteyam pulls them apart, gently pushing Y/n to the side, his back facing her as his tail brushed against her legs. As if to keep her there.
“Wo-ah, thanks bro-“
“You could have hurt her!” Neteyam growls, his eyes burning into Spider who looks at him in complete bewilderment.
Clearly Y/n was winning the fight, why did Neteyam make it seem like the other way around? Y/n furrows her eyebrows, trying to peek past Neteyam’s broad back to glance at Spider, but unfortunately for her Neteyam’s tail halted her steps.
“What do you mean?! She started it!” Spider argues, the smile still on his face. He didn’t seem to take offense to Neteyam’s reaction, which was good because he didn’t notice that Neteyam didn’t seem to be in a teasing mood. And that his posture screamed anger.
Lo’ak quickly rushes to their side, standing beside Spider. He knew that Neteyam looked angry, threatened even. Neteyam didn’t like how Y/n and Spider were close, he didn’t like how they always stick to each other.
Neteyam hated how closely they mingled against one another, and the fact that when the playfully fought how closely pressed they were to one another.
He couldn’t stand the way her cheeks flushed red under his relentless teasing. And he couldn’t get over the fact he would never be able to experience that with her on that level. Because they were not the same species. They didn’t have that type of connection.
Maybe Lo’ak was onto something. Maybe he was jealous?
Netayam hisses warningly which wipes the smile right off Spider’s face. They were playing, having fun while tousling with each other. But Neteyam’s reaction was anything but playful.
“Uhhh-Bro, let’s help Kiri?” Lo’ak quickly interjects, stepping in between Neteyam and Spider.
For once Spider nods immediately, turning around to follow Lo’ak. His body tensed in fear.
Neteyam never looked at him like that before. Sure he had been stand off-ish the past few days. But the look he had, it was a stare that sent fearful shivers down his spine.
Lo’ak glances at Neteyam one more time before following Spider. Once the are a good distance away Neteyam feels his shoulders relax, a tensed sigh leaving his lips.
“What was that?” Y/n questions, tapping her feet against the forest flow as Neteyam turns around to face her. His eyes soften immensely as he takes her in.
The way her beautiful eyes furrow together in question, how her cheeks still had some reminisce of her blush from earlier. And how her lips jutted out into a tiny pout. She looked so adorable in his eyes. He mentally swooned before shaking his head of him wandering thoughts.
Out of respect Neteyam crouches down to her level, still having to peer down at her though his knee rested against the soil.
“What was what?” Y/n scoffs, crossing her arms over her chest.
“You know what I mean Neteyam, why did you do that? We were having fun! Why have you been acting….weird?” Y/n sighs out, causing Neteyam to scoff.
“I am the same, how is this any different?”
“Seriously?” Y/n groans at his blunt answer.
“Hm, let’s see. You’ve been acting different as of late, you’ve been treating Spider differently and you barely talk to him! You can’t stand it when we are together, Need I go on?” Neteyam clears his throat, sticking out his tongue to wet his lips out of nervousness. He had been acting weird, acting protective and borderline possessive over her. Resulting in hostility against innocent Spider, Has he been that obvious?
“You’re overthinking it Y/n,” Neteyam huffs out, his eyes dancing around her face. Even though she looked unhappy and upset, Neteyam couldn’t help but admire her up close. His eyes trailing over her messily tied hair, the way her chest heaved as she took in deep breaths to regain composure. His eyes glance over her, memorizing every detail, every part of her that screams beauty.
After a moment of silence Y/n frowns.
“Wait….are you…Jealous?”
Neteyam grumbles in distaste. The word that had been haunting him since Lo’ak started his teasing from a while ago.
“Jealousy is not a word I’m familiar with” he states, his ears twitching to the sound of Lo’ak snickering to himself. Clearly he had heard what Neteyam has said, he was still within earshot. Neteyam glances back for a short second , glaring at his brother which shuts him up.
“Then explain your odd behavior…do you just not like me and Spider? Have we done something? Has Spider done something?”
“Ewya Y/n, I-”
Neteyam takes a deep breath in, to calm himself. He pinches the bridge of his nose trying to formulate what to say, and how to say it. He couldn’t just explain all the feelings that bubbled up inside of him, he himself wasn’t 100% certain as to why he acted the way he did.
But he had to tell her something, hint at the thought. Hint at the possibility that he may have been jealous and that he may….feeling something extra for her which caused his odd behavior.
“Do you ever ask why I get this way? Maybe it’s because I-y’know what, never mind….”
“No! Tell me, I demand an explanation!” Y/n steps close to him, his tail twitches excitedly at the movement. He was now able to smell her and feel her up close. He couldn’t help but feel his body melt and relax at her closer proximity.
“I…I just don’t like how close you two are. I dont know of Spider’s intentions but its…you guys are so comfortable with one another and it make me feel…agitated”
Y/n eyes seem to relax significantly, her head tilting in pure confusion. The anger disappears as she opens her mouth. “But Spider and I are practically siblings, we are supposed to be close!”
“It's not just that…”
“Then?”
“You…you are close with Spider, in ways I could never compete with…..You are the same species. The bond you have with him would never translate to what you could have with…me” Neteyam tries to look away, feeling embarrassed for looking so vulnerable in front of her but he couldn’t help it.
Y//n sighs out, her smaller hands reaching up to cup his cheek, sending a jolt of electricity through his body.
“Oh Neteyam” she cooes softly, which only caused him to feel the more delighted the longer her delicate fingers cupped his cheeks.
“I don’t know-I just felt…left out…..lonely ,I don’t want you to forget me…”
“I’m sorry you felt that way, I can assure you that just because we are not the same species doesn’t mean we cannot grow close” Neteyam smiles softly at her words. Closing his eyes as he lets it sink in. Y/n traces her fingers around his markings, in a soothing way.
“I’m close to you already, I love hanging out with you and being near you. I love watching you train and grow to become such a great warrior. And I’ll continue doing so. We won’t grow apart, I promise. How could I ever abandon my savior?”
Neteyam’s heart beat picks up once again, his palms grow sweaty as his ears twitch to the costume of her voice. His eyes snapped open with softness as he stared at her. The smile that decorated her face only caught his stomach to flutter wildly. She was perfect, she is perfect. And the feelings he had been conflicted with, finally seem to clear up upon hearing her words.
He was in love with her, probably had been since the moment he saw her.
“Thank you Y/n, I’ve finally come to understand some complicated thoughts I’ve been having, and I’m glad Idid. I’m sorry for acting the way I did, I don’t know what came over me” Neteyam apologizes. Y/n chuckles at his opening her respond only to be rudely interrupted.
“IT WAS JEALOUSY!!!” Lo’ak yells from his spot near Kiri and Spider. Neteyam growls at his brother's words, offering Y/n an apologetic smile before sprinting towards his brother who bolts at the sight.
Neteyam’s face flushes with embarrassment, his legs pushing him faster to catch up with his retreating brother. He couldn’t stop the beating of his heart, because he knew his skxawng of brother was right.
He was jealous.

He was annoyed. At least that’s what it seemed to be to Neytiri.
A certain aggressiveness to his movements while he used his knife to sharpen the point of his arrow, his arms flexing more than usual. His eyes stayed fixed on something causing a sharpness to be held within them. Neytiri watched her “mate” from afar, his frustration now leaking out of him and into her. Eyes slowly followed his line of vision falling upon a soon-to-be-mated pair.
You and Tsu’tey.
Seeing the two interact with each other always made her suspicions rise. The both of you never spoke to one another, yet now you two were destined to be mated. Tsu’tey was a hunter, you a tsahik. Both of you served in different social groups, not once interacting with each other, not even a glance. None of it made sense. It all happened too fast. Too sudden. She often pushed her personal feelings aside deeming it was not her place to have a voice in the matter, though this was a struggle to contain as she watched her “mate” continuously be irritated by their presence. Perhaps something happened with Tsu’tey? She thought. Jake and Tsu’tey often hunted in the same party, looking back the two had a rough introduction to each other, so a quarrel happening between the two wasn’t too alarming.
Gently she placed her knife down next to the leaf she used to cut up some fruit for dinner later on, she let out a puff of air rising from her seat making her way towards the man who she swore had steam radiating off of him from how much he was fuming.
“They are lovely aren’t they?” her voice snapping his head towards her, eyes wide. A giggle bubbled up seeing his reaction, though she covered her mouth quick enough to suppress its escape. His face relaxed, only for a second though as his previous frustrated expression soon after. Head looking back down at the work of his arrow, bringing a finger up to the point and testing the sharpness of it.  “Yeah. I’m happy for them,” he grunted out, his frustration no longer trying to be masked. He was not happy. Not even a little. He actually hated–no despised the new couple.
Loud laughter rang out just loud enough for him to hear, pushing his ears back toward the sound. You were laughing. Quickly he took a chance to catch a glimpse of you, you had tears in your half-closed eyes, your hand resting on Tsu’tey’s arm for support as you hunched over laughing at whatever he just told you. Jake held his breath briefly behind pursed lips to steel himself against the glee of your laughter. He fought the strong urge to go over to you and take you away from him, he wanted you to laugh at him like that. Only him. He had to do something about this and he had to do it quickly. Now. Before, he lost you for good. Except he found himself glued to his seat, his body refusing to move. His heart told him to go, but his brain kept him in place.
“You wish to speak with her don’t you?” Sighing Jake closed his eyes leaning forwards, resting his arms on his legs.
“If she doesn’t want to speak to me, that’s fine. She doesn’t have to” A pair of soft hands clasped themselves around his making his eyes slowly open, his eyes meet a pair of delicate ones filled with so much reassurance.
“You are wrong. So very wrong.” His eyebrows bunched together in confusion at her statement. Her face wore a smile that he couldn’t quite comprehend.
“You need to make amends. Talk to her before it is too late. You may not get this chance again.”
Slowly he straighten his posture, his hands still residing with her own, his face jumbled together. Where was this coming from? Could she be hinting at a particular feeling he has tried so hard to subside during their time together? Did he really make it that obvious? She continued.
“That night. I heard you two. I followed her, my curiosity getting the best of me. To my surprise, I found you with her trying to console her, comfort her, treasure her. It was clear to me then…and even now.” Reaching up she rested one of her hands upon his cheek, her thumb rubbing soothingly across the bone of his cheek, her smile never dropping nor changing.
“You were made for her, not me. I cannot take you away from her. I will not. All I ask and wish for my sister is happiness, her happiness is mine…and you Jake Sully,” she paused, bringing her other hand to the other side of his face, her hands now fully holding his face.
“Are her happiness. Our happiness.”
~~~~
He tossed and turned, seemingly not able to get comfortable quickly as he usually did. Everyone was already fast asleep, including Neytiri that rested beside him in their shared hammock. Her chest rising and falling slowly with every breath she took contentment resting in her face, she looked…peaceful. Her words from earlier filled his head, much so causing his restlessness.
“You Jake Sully are her happiness. Our happiness.”
Her words confused him, yet at the same time, they made so much sense. She was giving her blessing to him. But why? He was her “mate” – well soon to be. The two never quite found the time nor the need for it to happen. They were simply going along with the punchline for her mother. Putting on a show if he would describe it as such, though that’s very much so of what it was. His heart had belonged to you and always you. Though, your mother deemed you were not fit for the role to be the mate of Toruk Makto. It angered him seeing the way your mother treated you at times as if you didn’t have a mind or even a conscious of your own. He knew your mother loved you deeply he just thought she had one hell of a way of showing it.
Carefully he swung his body out of the hammock, moving and stepping as quite as possible watchful enough to not move too much to prevent waking Neytiri. Successfully, he made his way out of their–the shared hut taking a route he knew too well seeing he’d always go here on sleepless nights like this one.
Pushing plants and leaves out of his face as he passed through he could hear the splashing of water along with the smell of crispy water, a smile slowly creeping up on his face. Pushing more leaves out of the way he made his way toward the small pond picking up a little speed on the way. The abrupt softness under his foot stopped him in his tracks, glancing down he noticed a loincloth and familiar teal beaded top, his heart sped up as he recognized who this belonged to. The sound of humming broke him away from the clothes, his eyes being directed to the sound as if he was being enchanted and put under a spell, quietly he tucked himself behind a rather large leaf.
There you were. The moon shined perfectly on you. Water glistening on your skin making it look softer than ever. Your hair was wet and slicked back while you occupied yourself with your humming, eyes closed and the most beautiful smile on your face. He felt the air being sucked out of him the more he watched you, you were so ethereal looking. Too heavenly to be real. He was snapped out of his trance to the sound of gasping, his heart picking up pace for a different reason now. He was caught. Almost instantly you covered yourself, sinking deeper into the water your face just above the water.
“What are you doing here?” You shrieked. He opened and closed his mouth probably resembling a fish out of water gasping for air as he struggled to find a correct explanation for her. Instead, he just slapped a hand over his eyes while his other hand held out in front of him as he slowly emerged from behind the leaf.
“I didn’t see anything, I swear.” He was nervous, so nervous he could feel himself sweating. Hearing the splashing and crashing of the water he assumed you were getting out and waited a few more seconds before peeking through his fingers to see you in front of him tying the knot back on your loincloth. Removing his hand from his face he watched as you readjusted your clothing back on your body, your hair falling alluringly in front of your face. His hand itched to fix it though he refrained curling it into a ball at his side.
“Announce yourself next time. The water is all yours now.” You were quick to walk away from him, a pang running through his chest as you refused to look at him as you spoke rather coldly to him. His body moved before his mind could comprehend what he was doing. You came to an abrupt stop, his body now blocking your path huffing you crossed your arms over your damped chest.
“Out of the way.”He stood frozen. Your face grew irritated more and more by the second.
“I said out of my way, Sully. I must  leave before Tsu’tey grows suspicious of my absence.”
“I can’t let you do that.” He finally breathed out, his nerves now all jumbled up.
“Why not?” The annoyance in your face twisted something in his chest. You were never this cold towards him, though he couldn’t blame you for it. This was all his fault.
“I need–I want to talk about…about us.”
He watched the cold demeanor on your face break a little, but it quickly covered your face again except now it was colder than before. You scoffed looking at him in disbelief.
“What are you talking about? There is no us Jake. There never has been. So, there is nothing for us to discuss.” Again you tried to make your way around him but again you were caught.
He wasn’t letting you go that easily. He needed something to keep you here with him, he needed to tell you the truth. Biting his lip he cursed at himself for what was about to come out of his mouth.
“I love you.”
Silence.
You stood there in front of him your back towards him, your feet glued to the soft grass where you two stood. Your heart paced fast, too fast it felt like it would explode out of your chest. He felt the same except his heart paced out of worry, fear that you had gotten over your feelings and that he was a little too late. Little by little you turned yourself around to face him, his eyes frantic and desperate for you to say something. Anything.
“What?” You exhaled out a shaky breath, your vision becoming blurry.
“I said that I love you.” His voice was more serious now. Straightening up his posture he poked out his chest a little to show his seriousness. Your small frame coward shoulders slumped and your breathing became ragged. It felt like that night all over again and it was becoming too much for you.
“You do not mean that. You are saying these words to me to make things right. I will not fall for it this time Jake.” You sucked in a sharp breath as you felt a sob getting ready to rip through you and out of your mouth. “I cannot let you do this to me again.”
“I am happy. The happiest I have ever been. Tsu’Tey has taught me what love should and should not be. He–He has taught me that I need to love myself before I can give all my love to you.” You shook. Hard. You were crumbling right before him and all he wanted to do was hold you and tell you everything would be okay and that they’ll work through it. He slowly lifted his hands to your face that rested in a downward position, cupping your face in his hands he rose your face to his. His mouth suddenly became dry when your eyes reflected the same expression you held all those night ago. You didn’t fight him you didn’t have the energy to nor did you want to. You wanted to believe what he was saying was true, though there was a part of you that didn’t trust a word he spoke to you.
“Then let me help you. Let me be the one who helps you find that love for yourself to share. With me.”
“I–I do not understand.” Your voice was laced with sadness but also confusion.
He had run out of options. There was not a single thought in his mind that he could cook up and serve to you in words, his mouth nor brain would allow it. Hs tongue retracted outwards coating his dried lips with a layer of saliva, his eyes danced between yours and your lips. He wanted to stop himself for what he was about to do, in respect for you and Tsu’Tey’s relationship but in all honesty? He couldn’t care less.
His body leans in, so carefully. Breathing and no breathing could be heard between the two of you as he grew closer and closer to you until his lips were ghosting over your own. He paused for a moment waiting to see if you would push him away from you or pull yourself away, but you didn’t. Your own breathing had slowed down your eyes watching his lips now as you could feel his breath among them. He was so close you could barely feel your legs anymore or your fingers, not even the slight chill of the night that blew around the both of you because all you felt was him, everywhere, filling everything around you. He whispers,
“Please.”
“Please don’t hate me for this.” Pushing his head a bit further, he felt his lips finally connect with your own. Your lips are softer than anything he has ever known, soft like a first snowfall, or biting into cotton candy that melted away by the slightest touch. You tasted sweet. So effortlessly sweet.
This was the only thing that mattered.
This.
You.
Your petite body pressed against his and your arms found their way to his neck wrapping them to pull him even closer into the embrace. Your lips danced feverishly together as if you two were starving for each other, and without a doubt you two were. His hands dropped from your face sliding their way down your body, his fingers brushing lightly against the curves of your hips sending a small shiver down your spine. Swiftly he hooked the back of your legs wrapping it around his torso, carefully sinking you both to the ground with you straddling him. Breaking for air, he headed for his next destination. His kisses felt like fire against your skin, the way his lips pecked and nibbled on the skin residing between your neck and collarbone sent your mind into a whirlpool.
“Jake…” you puffed out, your lungs no longer working at the moment. Your voice seemed to fall on deaf ears as he continued his assault on you. Holding the small of your back he rested a hand behind your head as he laid you softly on the grass, his new position in between your legs now. His lips found yours again except this time he was more desperate. His lips moved now rather harshly against your sucking and biting at them to get your gasp out his name, his thoughts running wild as you did so.
Once again you two broke away for air heavily panting as you both observed each other. You underneath him with messy hair and slightly swollen lips and him above you with eyes hazing over. Your eyes reflected loving eyes, showing him they are the door to his own soul. Touching him with those gentle hands, not as clay, but as if his body were reborn in its most perfect form. And so, in this love there runs a deep gratitude, a sense that what is given is sacred and transient, passing in time into the eternal cycles of living.
You wore a smile on your face, a smile that was finally for him, your hand cupping his face and gently rubbing your thumb soothingly across it. Instinctively, he leaned in your touch.
“I–see you…jake.”
He felt a wide grin spread across his face as his stomach did a flip after  flip.
“And I see you, y/n.”
~~~~~
The two of you walked back hand in hand, both faces wearing a smile. The sun now rising spreading across the forest, waking a few up in the process.
“So what are you going to tell my sister?” Awkwardly Jake scratched the back of his neck.
“Well, she was the one who pushed me to do this. But, I’m glad I did because if not I would’ve lost you to Tsu’Tey.”  The comment earned a small laugh from the girl beside him tweaking confusion from him.
“I and Tsu’Tey were never going to mate. We were following my mother’s request, neither of us were interested in the other.”
He was relieved, relieved that you and Tsu’Tey were never mated, and also relieved that he could be the one to mate you, just like he had planned.
“So? Does this mean I can be your mate?” You stepped in front of him, locking your fingers together and smiling beamingly up at him.
“It seems Eywa has deemed you so. Jake Sully.”
His smile mirrored your own before he swiftly captured your lips with his own once again, silently thanking their great mother. After all,
Eywa makes no mistakes.

“Then let’s get it done.” Jake Sully x fem!reader
Tumblr media
NSFW (mdni)! P in V, squirting, unprotected sex, creampie, dom jake, sub reader, making you beg, slight breading kink, the usual.
My first time writing nsfw go easy on me 🙏
“Yeah, just like that- fuck” jake pants as he rubs his dick on the folds of your wet cunt. Sweat is beading on the sides of his forehead, he’s been teasing you relentlessly. “Ma jake, please just- mmhh put it in” your arms are around his neck, running your fingers through his hair. He stops his movements to get a good look at your body. Your is hair spread out underneath the glowing forest floor. The bioluminescence of pandoras plant life highlighting your glistening pussy. You look so beautiful to him when you’re craving for him to fuck you.
You rut your hips up to his desperately trying to find some sort of relief. In return he presses a hand on your lower abdomen to keep your back against the ground. “Mawey y/n, mawey…” he soothes into your ear you can feel his breath on you, ear flicking in response. He lines himself back up with your sopping cunt, face buried into your neck as he enters you in one swift movement. You cry out his name as his hips smash into to you at a unrelenting pace. Lifting his head from your neck to stare at your breast bouncing with each rough thrust he gives you.
“Fuck you take me so well baby” He praises as he brings a thumb down to your clit, rubbing sweet circles to add to your experience. Your walls squeeze tightly around him, wrapping your legs around his hips in ecstasy. Your mouth hanging open no longer able to form words, completely fucked out. “You wanna squirt for me? hm baby wanna squirt all over my dick?” You hum and arch your back in response. He lets out a low chuckle shaking his head. “See now baby that’s not gonna cut it, you gotta use your words.” He removes his hand from your clit to stick his thumb in your mouth, opening it for you. “yes ma jake I- I want to squirt for you.” You declared looking into his golden eyes. “Then let’s get it done.”
He places a swift kiss on your forehead and brings his hand back down to your clit. His thumb is moving side to side at a swift pace making you whimper under him. The pressure from his rough fucking and him rubbing on your clit is too much. That feeling on your tummy is getting tighter, threatening to snap at any minute. “Fuck i’m gonna put a baby in you.” Jake grunts with his eyes focused on the way your cunt sucks him in. His dirty words send you over the edge as you cry out for him, your juices spraying all over his abs and onto your stomach. “That’s what i’m talking about- fuck!”
The sound of your moans combining to make a beautiful song as he lets his seed spill into your hot pussy. You press your foreheads together as his hips lazily circle inside you as you two ride out your high. Pulling out of your abused pussy he watches as his cum spills out of your throbbing hole. Licking his lips at the sight he collects his seed on his finger pushing it back into you. “Gotta keep it all if you’re gonna have my baby.”

part 1 ✩ part 2 ✩ part 3 ✩ part 4 ✩ part 5 ✩ part 6 (here!) ✩ part 7 (final part)
Tumblr media
Tonowari is at a loss as he watches you ignore him once more. He talked to you before, he asked you where you had been as you seemingly disappeared into thin air for a couple of weeks. He could not see even a glimpse of your hair and the days without you, his head swam in concern and worry. Have you gone sick? Were you okay? Did something happen?
As the days without any news from gone by, he grew more distracted from his classes and it was the same for Ronal as well. She grew more anxious and distressed as days went by, and without a proper outlet to let it all out, she grew more emotionally unstable. They could only comfort each other but not once has the turbulence in their heart disappear from the thought of you.
When the news of you that you had gotten sick, he felt helpless. He wanted to come into your home and check in on how you were doing, to be by your side and take care of you in any way he and Ronal can, but your mother had not allowed it. He contemplated sneaking inside your pod to at least see you but there he could not disobey the Healer of the clan. So he sighs inside his heart and with a strained smile, he thanks your mother for the news and offered his best wishes for you to get well soon. When he told Ronal of the news, she frowned deeply and huffed. He watched her gather medicinal herbs and nutritious berries before she gripped them hard in her fist and tears welled in her eyes.
“[Name]... I want to see her,” she said in a brittle voice, her face contorted with longing and anguish for you. Tonowari grabbed her face with both of his hands and pushed the hair out of her face.
“I know,” he leaned his forehead against hers and looks at her straight in the eyes. Her tears slipped and rolled down her cheeks silently and his heart broke apart at the sight of her in pain. Helplessness crept up and weigh his heavy heart down once again. Now, Ronal was hurting and there was nothing he could do. “[Name] is strong. We’ll see them back in no time and they will be healthy when they return.”
“And when they do, they will know of the worry we have for them. The painful agony without them and they will laugh at us, tease us at how much of a baby we two are. They will say how we are just giant children that never really aged with how we cannot handle being without them.” He promised her, promised himself, that everything would be okay and would soon return to normal. Ronal let out a snort and she hid in his embrace.
“They will know of the adoration we have for them,” he whispered against her forehead and kissed the top of her head. Fear comes back and it fills his lungs dark blue. But his passion for you outweighs any of his doubts and suddenly he found himself able to breathe underwater. “We will them of beautiful they are, how they fill us with Atokirina. How much love we carry and drown for her. When [Name] returns, they will finally see how we see them.”
“When [Name] returns.” Ronal murmured against his chest with finality.
Hope swelled in Tonowari’s chest but reality burst it open. When he finally saw you again, relief and joy takes away the heavy weight from his shoulders. When he and Ronal came up to you, they were glad they could finally see you and take the Iknimaya with you. However, they were still worried if you were truly well enough to complete the ritual. But that type of worry soon turned into worry about what have they done wrong for you to avoid them.
You weren’t being the usual you, they noticed. Your happy and cheery aura was nowhere to be seen. Your usual rambles turned into small and curt replies. Your genuine smile turned into one he could not recognize anymore as it did not reach your cheeks. You did not see them anymore. He watched you excuse yourself to your other friends and leave him weak and with so much pain. He watched you the whole time during Iknimaya as you avoided his yearning gazes. He watched you as you continued to hurt him unknowingly, or perhaps you did without giving him and Ronal to ask you why.
You do not see him anymore.
Now, he looks at you, you who is so alluring as you stand underneath the Cove of Ancestors, adorned with the garments your parents had knitted you that fit you so well and your freshly inked chest that represents your big heart that cared for everyone to which he desperately hopes that he and Ronal are included. The bioluminescent Spirit Tree underwater glows so brightly that it still shines on you. Eywa’s creations swims and streaks of light kisses your skin and he could only think how you leave him breathless of your beauty. He finds himself jealous of the water that you stand in and is closer and touches you the way he wants to be with you.
He recalls how you two promised back then that you two would complete your coming-of-age ceremony together and you two did, just not the way he thought it would. Why do you not see him anymore? Do you hate him? Had he done something wrong? Tonowari wanted to beg you and if he has to be on his knees, he will do so without hesitation as long as you tell him and he will do anything for you to see him once more. But he is the Olo’eyktan’s son, the future chief and has an image to show to everyone, as his father tells him every second. But what use is of his position without you?
Ronal grips his hand and looks at him with worry. He presses his lips into a flat lip, a horrible attempt to send her a smile to ease her concerns for him. She squeezes his hand thrice and his heart throbs at the thought of you.
He remembers how you ignored him before and how everything was just like back then. How you avoided him so and how he thought how you must have despised him. How much pain you gave him in months of you pretending he does not exist. You’re so cruel. So, so cruel. What if this time, you truly despise him now? What if he is nothing to you anymore? Can he take it? Can he truly take it and accept a future without you?
Tonowari’s face is suddenly caressed by Ronal. He looks at her in confusion and she just pushes the hair out of his face.
“When they return, they will know of the adoration we have for them,” she says quietly yet her yearning for you that he also feels is apparent, “We will them of beautiful they are, how they fill us with Atokirina. How much love we carry and drown for her.”
She says what he promised her word for word and he chuckles. He catches her hands and he kisses the knuckles of one of her hands. He squeezes the other hand thrice and finishes his promise to her.
“When [Name] returns, they will finally see how we see them.” No. He cannot just accept that you despise him now without telling him any reason why. He cannot just accept that he is nothing to you so easily. He does not want months of avoidance to happen again and perhaps turn into years of pretending he and Ronal does not exist. He will not give in to the voices that cloud his head for he knows you and you could never hate him. You care about him and Ronal too much and he wishes that it is the same care he and her have for you. Even if he did, he will not risk losing the chance of losing you and a future with you because he loves you. Ronal loves you.
“I see you,” he says to Ronal with eyes full of gratefulness that she snapped him out of his spiralling thoughts and love for her.
“I see you,” she replies with the same eyes that make his heart skip a beat.
He just hopes that you still see both of them and see them the way they see you.
.
.
.
You are cruel. So, so cruel, Ronal thought as she watches you ignore her. When she talked to you after your disappearance, you acted like there was a barrier between the two of you. You placed a vast distance from her and it tore her heart, clawed it open and you left her to bleed so openly when you left and you didn’t even look back once. The pain from the worry and agony for your safety turned into a burning one that fills her lungs with smoke. Why? What did she do for you to despise being in her presence? Has she scared you as well? Have you grown tired of her as well?
She thought this time would be different. That you would be different. That she has finally found love in Tonowari and you and everything will be all and well. That she wouldn’t hurt anyone again, especially you who is one of the most beloved to her. Was everything a lie then? You said that this time would be different. You said that you were here for her. You said you see her. Was it all just a lie?
No, she silently scoffs to herself. She knows you and she sees you. You are kind. You have a big heart. You see everyone. Perhaps you just didn’t see her anymore. Perhaps it was truly her fault that made you turn away from her just like everybody else.
Disgusting. And so, so pathetic. Had she really not learned anything at all? How could she do that to you unknowingly? How could she hurt you, you who is one of the most precious to her? She does not deserve you, you who is so bright and so full of life and love and all she had done is hurt you. Is this Eywa’s punishment for her? For all the sins she had done in the past, all to return and come back to return in the name of [Name]?
“This time will be different, Ronal.” You said, bringing her face in front of yours. You wiped away her tears and assured her. “I’m here for you.”
“I see you.”
Your words ran through Rona’s mind and oh, despite it all, she still wants you. She still believes that you are different. She still believes that you still see her. She would never give up on you just like you had never given up on her when she didn’t want you to see her. She looks at you in your ethereal beauty that knocks the air out of her and she feels herself falling in love again. You stand there like Eywa’s most treasured creation of all time with the way all of life surrounds you. She looks at the three beads you hold in the palm of your hands and wonders if she and Tonowari would be a part of your waytelem. She finds herself envying the wind that ripples through your hair and clothes and is closer and touches you the way he wants to be with you.
And so, she tells Tonowari and tells him how you will know the wind and the ocean that carries their love for you and grips Tonowari’s hand and would not let him give up on you as well.
“Greetings, brother, Ronal,” a friend of Tonowari’s suddenly cut off her thoughts she lets go of Tonowari’s hand. She nods at him while he greeted him back.
“To what do I owe the pleasure of having my brother here before me?” Tonowari chuckles.
“I just wanted to give you my congratulations for completing Iknimaya, our future Olo’eyktan,” his friend grins to him and nods at her, “And of course, our future Tsahìk.”
She frowns at this. What future Tsahìk? She was not aware of this nor the Tsahìk had personally told her of this. She looks at Tonowari with a questioning gaze.
“Future Tsahìk? When did you learn of this?” his eyebrows press into a flat line while his ears twitched.
“Everyone knows this, brother. In fact, we are all surprised [Name] wasn’t chosen,” he told them and realization dawns on Ronal. Do you know of this as well? Is this the reason why you were avoiding them?
Ronal looks at Tonowari with wide eyes. Tonowari grips her hand and looks at her and tells her with his eyes that they both need to talk to you quickly. Perhaps his friend had sensed that there was something wrong as he apologized and asked if he was in the wrong.
“No, no, thank you for telling me this, brother,” Tonowari pats his shoulder and sends him a strained smile, “I’m sorry but Ronal and I need to go now. I will make it up to you soon.”
She and he nods at him before they go to where you were before. You were not there anymore. Panic swells in her chest as the seconds go by she could not see you. She sees a common friend you and her shared and she quickly calls her over.
“Greetings, Ronal and Tonowari. Congratulations on your Iknimaya!” she beams at her.
“Greetings. I’m sorry but there is an urgent matter I need to attend to. Have you seen [Name]?” she hastily says and concern quickly washes over her friend’s face.
“Oh, I think she left early. Why, had something happened?”
“Thank you. There is just something we need to talk to her. I’ll see you soon.” She nods at her and calls for Ilus nearby. As they swim towards her and Tonowari, she cannot help but the questions that plague her mind. What if they were too late and you refuse to hear them out? What if you hate them for the betrayal you must have felt? What if—
“Ronal,” Tonowari grabs caresses her face with one hand and squeezes her hand with another. “Deep breaths. Breathe.”
She looks at him, frustration welling up in her eyes and she bites her lip. “[Name] sees you. She sees us.”
“What if she doesn’t anymore?” she asks the question that gives them immense pain to even think about. What if? What then?
Tonowar’s eyes soften and he tries to hide his flinch. He is silent and both of them could only cling desperately to the hope that you still do.
Oh, Eywa, she begs, Please help them see our innermost thoughts and the sincerity we have in our souls.
Please let them know of the wind and the ocean that calls out their name.
Please let them still see us.

-ˋˏ♡ You found your boyfriend sat on the sand looking forward to the sea. You approached him slowly, “Teyam?” you murmured sitting next to him.
-ˋˏ♡ He looked frustrated, when he was like this it was because he probably had an argument with Lo'ak. He would massage his temples sighing as you sit on the sand next to him.
-ˋˏ♡ He was stressed out, he cared about his little brother but sometimes he was so stubborn. He would talk to you about everything while you were playing with his hair.
-ˋˏ♡ You would untie his messy braids and gently brush his strands, while he let it out sighing heavily explaining everything to you.
-ˋˏ♡ “It's just that I'm worried about him i can't let him go completely.” He muttered against his palm. You noticed the worry in his eyes, you leaned in and kissed his cheek.
-ˋˏ♡ “You're a great big brother 'Teyam” you murmured against his soft cheek making him smile, causing his dimples to peek out. “I'm sure Lo'ak knows that”.
-ˋˏ♡ Then he would stay silent appreciating your hand through his soft hair, feeling your fingers tugging his hair softly, as your tails intertwined with each other.
-ˋˏ♡ You would intertwine some tiny shell into his braids as his hands found your thigh and gently rubbed it looking at the horizon smiling.
-ˋˏ♡ “Done! This was the last one.” you exclaimed as you finished braiding the last lock of his hair. “Thank you yawne” he muttered turning around capturing your lips into a soft kiss as he tucked a strand behind your ear.

🔹💙THANK YOU SO MUCH DEARY💙🔹
@nin3kyuu I love it 💜
I got this AMAZING ARTWORK as reward for a little "guessing game" where to figure out which Recom is shown in the picture. (It was Lyle)
I said that I want something romantic, but also hot, with Lyle and a white/light skinned Na'vi female (maybe a Snow Na'vi)
(Because I see more in him then only 2braincelled and mercyless rough ordering following marine)
💜Thank you so much for this amazing result, I am very very happy and it's like a shiny light in my current situation in my real life 🥺

Patience | Lo’ak x human!y/n
if you’d like you can reblog my original work, but please don’t post it without credit. if you take inspiration from my ideas please tag me, I’d like to see how someone else would write it
word count: 2.4k
warnings: reader gets hurt at the beginning, smut, oral (f receiving), pussy eating, squirting, size kink if you squint, Lo’ak needs to go to NA because he’s chronically obsessed with y/n, ?
summary: Lo’ak has always had a thing for your scent. It’s what drew him to you in the first place. It makes it even worse when he can smell your arousal, because all he wants to do is mate with you but he refuses to have sex before your avatar is ready.
anything in bold like this in the middle of a sentence means it’s either Na’vi or meant to be in Na’vi but I don’t trust the translation websites so I just use the few words I know and make do with it💀
As soon as Lo’ak got a whiff of your scent he was hooked. He knew something was different about it, but it didn’t matter to him then. Because he didn’t have to see you to know, that was the scent of his mate.
He was hunting on his own, finally trying to be the warrior son his father always wanted for once when he inhaled a scent so addicting he nearly dropped his bow all together just mere seconds after the air hit his lungs. Whoever that was coming from, must’ve been some kind of Na’vi form of Atokirina sent from Eywa herself.
But like I said, something was off about it. Instantly abandoning the target, he was off in search of where the scent was coming from. He climbed a tree nearby, swinging at the tops of all the trees trying to get closer to whoever was emitting this delicious smell without being seen.
It was getting stronger, which meant he was close. He kept going, taking deep breaths through his nose to try to locate it better. He nearly fell out of the tree when he realized where it was coming from. Now, he could smell blood as well but he was more focused on the smell of your body.
A rather small looking human, bleeding through her shirt. That’s what was giving off the scent. When he realized you were seriously injured, he jumped down, moving you on your back and lifting your shirt.
You groaned weakly and tried to sit up, but his big blue hand pushed you back down. Your eyes widened and you shot up, rolling over and creating a few feet of distance between you. You grunted, your stomach throbbing and screaming at you to take care of it.
He put his hands up, to try and show he wasn’t a threat. You looked him up and down, not believing that a Na’vi wanted to save a human. He cleared his throat and threw his bow and his arrows to the side, removing his knife and also throwing that to the side.
“Trust,” he said, he didn’t know a lot of English since his father was just now teaching them, but he knew enough to communicate with you and he knew that. You whimpered, and he slowly got closer, putting his hand out.
Your scent was so strong, so powerful. He felt such a strong connection to you already, and it was upsetting him to see you hurt. You touched his finger, holding onto it for a moment. He gave you an awkward smile and you sniffled, sitting down and leaning against the tree so he could examine you.
He sighed happily and said “gentle” as he pointed to himself. You nodded and he lifted your shirt again, examining your wound. He wiped your tears and said “not good. I can help”
“I just…I need help walking. That’s all. I will be okay, I just need to get back to where I came from” you said and he sighed. He nodded and said “help walk?” You then nodded and he picked you up swiftly.
You gasped, whimpering a little and groaning from the increased pain in your stomach. “Sorry, sorry” he said and you let out a small sob. “It’s okay” you groaned, resting your head on his chest as you caught your breath again.
He put his knife back in it’s place and put his bow on his shoulder, asking you to point him in the right direction. He was drunk on your scent, listening to your breath, your heartbeat. He would occasionally “accidentally” press his nose to your hair, just trying to memorize your scent as best he could.
You could see his tail moving like crazy, and it almost made you giggle sometimes. You didn’t quite understand why, but he looked very handsome to you. His big, round eyes and his plump lips had you slightly entranced by him. He was very gentle, just like he said.
When he realized where you were he smiled and said “the lab? You stay inside?” You furrowed your eyebrows, you assumed he was asking if you lived in the lab. You nodded and he chuckled. “I am here a lot. Never see you” he said and opened the door, ducking to get in and carefully setting you down.
You whimpered and held into his leg slightly, biting your lip. He quickly looked down, eyes widening a little. He bent down, holding your waist as he called for Max and Norman.
“Y/n! What did you do?!” Norman said and you chuckled nervously. You winced and said “it’s just a bad scratch. I tripped and rolled down some kind of hill and I hit a bunch of rocks. I just need to clean it and I’ll be fine” “you need stitches I can probably stick my finger in this cut if I tried” Max said and you sighed.
“Will she be okay?” Lo’ak asked and Norman looked up at him. He nodded and said “she should be just fine, don’t worry. We just need to clean it and possibly give her some stitches”
Lo’ak furrowed his eyebrows and said a slightly butchered version of ‘stitches’, not knowing what those were. Norman explained them quickly and messed up by saying they were painful, because that instantly made Lo’ak pull you into his chest, shielding you from them.
You whimpered and said “it’s okay…it’s safe” “safe? No, it is pain” he said and you sighed. You took a deep breath, feeling weak as you said “mawey, Lo’ak. It is okay” He smiled a little, at least you knew some of the Na’vi language.
He stayed with you the whole time, letting you squeeze his fingers and holding you when you took breaks because the pain was too much. He kept sniffing your neck and hair which you thought was quite odd but you didn’t comment on it.
When you were done, you were quite tired and ended up falling asleep. Now, you were only in some shorts and your bra so Norm went to get you a shirt and also more comfier pants. Lo’ak smiled at your beauty, caressing your face softly.
“My mate. So beautiful” he said quietly, burying his head in your neck and taking a deep breath through his nose. He nuzzled against your chin, humming happily.
When Norman told you that he heard him say those things and that him smelling you and protecting you the way he did was not exactly friendly behavior, you were shocked. You didn’t quite understand. You were human, how could you be his mate?
When he came to the lab again so Kiri could visit Grace a few days later, he was dying to find you. He realized the reason he had never breathed your scent before was because every door was sealed incase of the Pandora air getting in, but now he needed it more than anything.
He spent 20 minutes looking for you, and when he did, he couldn’t keep his hands off of you. You tried to push him off slightly, but you could hear him muttering things about mating before Eywa and small compliments under his breath.
He took you to meet his parents 2 months later. They were upset at him for being so distant so he brought you to meet them. You felt scared and nervous, for a number of reasons. Everyone was so much bigger than you, they could probably crush your skull with one hand if they tried. And lucky you, you just had to catch the attention of Toruk Makto’s youngest son. Not to mention, Neytiri was really intimidating.
You’d been reading up on the Na’vi and both of you had learned so much of each other's language even just in this short amount of time. You could mostly make it through full conversations with each other in either language. Lo’ak had obviously become obsessed with learning the sky people language, he wanted to show he cared about you and wanted to know you.
As Lo’ak told them what was happening, you could tell they were upset and confused. You hid behind Lo’ak’s leg, sort of fighting tears if we’re being honest. You knew they wouldn’t, but you wanted them to like you and accept you.
It started a big fight between his parents and eventually you ran away, but when Lo’ak noticed you were long gone. He noticed something was different about you after that. You seemed…distant. But his parents eventually gave up and let him think you were his mate, even though you literally weren’t even the same species.
He didn’t care. He brought you through the forest everyday, so much that his ikran was so well acquainted with you she even let you feed her sometimes. He taught you the ways of the people, taught you how to hunt and even made you your own traditional Na’vi necklace which you literally never took off.
He brought you gifts everyday, and even though you couldn’t handle most of their food he would bring everything he knew you could eat, his mother even got mad once when he took all of one specific type of berry she needed for a dish and gave them all to you because it’s one of the few things you can eat.
3 years in, he’s still obsessed with you. Science has advanced, and you don’t need the mask all the time, a very risky and scary surgery or two later and now you can breathe pandora air safely. Now he gets to caress and kiss your face whenever and he loves it despite how terrified he was during the surgery.
He also loves how small you are compared to him, everything about you was little compared to him. He loved to just run over and throw you up into his arms out of nowhere, you always curled up in his chest after and it was adorable. He spent most nights with his head buried into your neck, breathing in your addicting scent.
And now, when your scent is even more intoxicating, he’s struggling to keep from fucking you like a wild animal. Your really horny, and he can smell it. It’s driving him crazy. “Please, Lo’ak. I promise we’ll go slow and I’ll tell you if it hurts- just please, please have sex with me!” You begged and he groaned.
He chuckled a little and said “no…no! You’re too small, I could hurt you! Norm said the avatar will be ready in 3 weeks, and then, you will learn your avatar body, become a woman in the eyes of the clan, transfer your conciousness and we can mate before Eywa. Just a few more months, y/n. Patience”
You groaned and said “I hate you!” He laughed and you got off his thigh, jumping down and digging through your bag, grabbing a new pair of panties and shorts. “You made me ruin my underwear…asshole” you said and he took a deep breath.
“All I want…is to mate with you before Eywa. But I won’t, not until you are in your proper body. I will hurt you, y/n, there is no way I won’t” he said and you pouted adorably, sitting next to him and rubbing your thighs together for some kind of relief against your aching pussy.
“Fuck…I can smell you and it’s driving me crazy” he said and you smirked. You opened your legs slightly, just enough that it would intensify the smell. He cleared his throat, shifting slightly. You looked down and his loincloth was nearly ripping because of how hard his cock was.
You slipped off your pants, and your shirt, basically manspreading now. “Y/n,” he said, groaning as he stood up, pacing the room a little. He palmed himself slightly, trying to give himself some kind of relief.
“It’s hot in here…” you said, fanning yourself with a fan that Kiri had gifted you a few months ago. He shook his head and smacked the fan out of your hand, ripping off your panties.
He had smelled your arousal a few times before, but this was different. It had never been so strong. Obviously, you were really wound up. He wondered if this was some sort of human heat or something.
He spread your legs wide, burying his face in your pussy. He immediately began to devour you, sucking your clit and lapping up your juices and devouring everything you had to offer. He shoved his tongue deep inside you and you nearly screamed, back arching off the mat as he gripped your thighs and locked them on either side of his head.
You whimpered, his tale swishing like crazy and his hard cock twitching against your leg. “Lo’ak- Lo’ak! Oh, Eywa!” You moaned, fingers threading through his braids and pulling him impossibly closer.
“Mmh- ohh! Feels so good- baby!” You said, moaning uncontrollably. You two hadn’t really done anything sexual before, besides the one time you grinded on his thigh and got yourself off, and when he was in rut he refused to be near you, knowing he wouldn’t be able to control himself. You don’t know where he learned it but his mouth was working magic between your legs.
“Fuck- Lo’ak, right there! Ahh! Ahhh! oh, Lo’ak!” You moaned, grinding your hips up against his face. His tongue was working your clit with expertise and two fingers had slowly and gently worked their way in and he started thrusting them against your g-spot. His fingers were already so deep, but they weren’t all the way in and you realized he was probably right about hurting you if you were to actually have sex.
“So sexy…fuck, you smell so good” he said and you whimpered, pussy clenching, legs shaking, pleasure overstimulating you as you realized you were cumming. You could barely warn Lo’ak, it hit you so fast.
“Shit! Fuckfuckfuck I’m cumming! Ahhh! Uhhhh! Ohh god- fuck- Lo’ak!” You moaned, squirting all over his face as you came. Your pussy squeezed his fingers so hard he could barely move them, your legs shaking like crazy.
“Lo’ak- no it’s too much…” you said weakly as you started to tremble. He kissed your pussy a few more times before he pulled back, massaging your trembling thighs with his big hands. You panted hard, your pussy still fluttering a little as Lo’ak giggled to himself, your juices all over his chin and his chest.
“You are the most delicious thing on Pandora,” he said and you blushed from embarrassment, trying to hide your face. He moved your hands, wiping his chin on the back of his hand before placing a small kiss to your cheek.
Despite the fact that you didn’t have sex, you still weren’t walking the next morning and if you thought Lo’ak was addicted you before, he was eating you out damn near everyday just to smell you.
