Tales of The Fantastic Four Merchandise Ideas (Part 1)
@fantasticfourforever, @void-f3lt, @black-but-mildly-sunny, @chochochlorine1, @alaris-peregrine, @ariel-seagull-wings, @lovingbookslibrariesartprune, @cllooouuuu,
With the nearing release of my fanfic "Tales of The Fantastic Four", as well as "Fantastic Four: First Steps", I've been thinking about some potential merchandising the series would get if it was an actual animated series.
So today I wanted to some of those merchandising ideas.
Standard Merchandise:
T-shirts, posters, wallpapers, bookbags, lunch boxes, dinnerware, downloadable wallpapers, handbags, phone cases, blankets, bedsheets, cards, sticker books, towels, rugs, puzzles, hats, speciality headphones, and shoes.
However, most of these will share a similar series of design variants.
Some of the design variants as of right now are....
-Fantastic Four: Features Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, The Human Torch, and The Thing all running forward.
-First Family: Features The Fantastic Four, Alicia Masters, Franklin Richards, Valeria Richards, and H.E.R.B.I.E. sitting in the middle of The Baxter Compound.
-Fantastic Friends: Features The Fantastic Four, The Silver Surfer, Namor the Sub-Mariner, Spider-Man, She-Hulk, Ghost Rider, Black Panther, Wolverine, The Incredible Hulk, Storm, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, Iceman, Antoman, The Inhumans, and Galactus.

-Best Pals: Features Mr. Fantastic and The Thing, the former of whom casually has his arm around the shoulder of the latter.
-Super Siblings: Features The Invisible Woman and The Human Torch doing a fist-bump.
-Fantastic Love: Features Mr. Fantastic & The Invisible Woman and The Thing & Alicia.
-Adventure Calls: Features The Fantastic Four riding in The Fantasti-Car, all while in front of a world map.
-Big Brains: Features Mr. Fantastic, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Bruce Banner, Antoman, and The Beast in front of a blue atom symbol.
-Leading Ladies: Features The Invisible Woman, Alicia, She-Hulk, Wasupu, Storm, Medusa, Crystal, Rogue, Emma Frost, and Bucky in front of a hot pink background.
-Elemental Warriors: Features The Human Torch, Crystal, Storm, and Iceman in front of an elemental background.
-Bruiser Brigade: Features The Thing, The Incredible Hulk, She-Hulk, Namor the Sub-Mariner, Thor, Spider-Man, Gorgon, Beast, Rogue, and Colossus all charging through a wall.
Toys:
This series would have a toy-line done by Mattel.
For this part, we'll be covering the starting action figures of the line.

These include The Clobberin' Chicken Whopper (a Whopper with two double-fried chicken breasts, coleslaw, fried onion straws, and pickles), Elastic Fries (very long and thick French fries), Flaming Nuggets (spicy chicken nuggets), Force Punch (a blue raspberry-flavored soft drink), and The H.E.R.B.I.E. Well that’s all for now!
Let me you what you guys think about my merchandise ideas, and if you could, send me some ideas for other merchandising avenues!
But even then, I already have some more merchandising ideas in the works, so stay tuned!

Tag Game To Better Know You! Send this to people you'd like to know better!
Tagged by @munsonsbabygirlie , thank u Chromie! Last year, technically, that i keep forgetting to do but this feels like a nice way to start the New Year!
Book Im currently reading:
American Gods by Neil Gaiman! I'm trying to get a bit more into reading this year, but its been a hot minute and im crawling by slower than I expected. That being said I've got a whole list waiting for me, and I'm incredibly enjoying AG so far <3
What I usually wear:
Blue, if I'm being honest. Its not my actual favourite colour, but it's my comfort one. I can't reliably say jeans even: ive really grown into a good pair of slacks. Tho i suppose if youre trying to imagine me, think blue jeans, a battered second hand pair of yellowing high tops, a white tshirt and an old plaid shirt, and ive been told i wear my hijab a very recognizable way 😭 also blue
How tall I am:
157 cm last i checked, 5 feet exactly in american measurements i think...?
My star sign. Do I know any celebrities or historical event that shares it:
Im a libra! Im sure plenty of people got born and big events happened in the first half of October, but nothing comes to mind immediately. I suppose i dont care enough to remember, lol
Do I go by a name or nickname:
Nickname. I go by Choice in all cyberspaces. It's a name that endeared itself to me many years ago, its nothing close to my actual name, and I enjoy the broad line of separation between my lives on and offline. Irl tho, i usually dont go by a nickname, at least nothing used by anyone outside family, and thats even MORE closely guarded. So.
Did I grow up to be what I wanted to be as a child:
I was an angry, suicidal, incredibly hurt child, and I had no true ambition besides finding joy and holding on to it with both hands. I wanted to be content and left alone, most of all. I wanted to be happy.
I'm a lot happier now. It's an uphill battle. Baby me would be glad to see where I am now tho i think. I hope
Something I'm good at vs Something I'm bad at:
I am. Very good at speaking. I take pride in this, many have told me I have the innate talent with words and the know how to lead a team and control a room. I know how to get myself listened. On paper, I know what I want said. Many things. Words are a power I wield well.
Vs
I am, sincerely, not very good at empathy, nor sympathy. I struggle to look outside my periphery, to crawl outside my own head and pop my own bubble. I have come across as-not cold, but callous, cruel, a little uncaring. I feel less remorse for this than I should, I think. I try, but thats not enough sometimes. I sincerely do not care of other opinions and perspectives as default. I like to think im better at it now. I'm aware of it. But its still a problem
If I draw or write, what's my favourite of anything I created this year?
Im taking that to mean 2022. I guess this line from my fic A Cosmic Kiss?
Millenia ago, a comet had come to strike down the surface of the earth like a Holy hand clearing a table, and decimated all that had ever existed, and it had been the end of things. It had been the beginning. It had moved with the leisure of treacle towards its purpose in the indifferent void, but close, close, pulled into the orbit of the earth with speed to singe the atoms of air. Creation, by the guide of Destruction. Life, then Death, then Life again. Such was the way of things. Fires that last are the ones that waited. Paradoxes; sudden, and not.
Such was their way.
It was the first thing that struck me to write the one shot, the one partially inspired by Puppet History, and would be the ongoing theme of the fic. Its quite good, i have to admit. Im glad the fic went over well.
Dogs or cats:
Cats. Nothing against a sweet puppy, but I prefer the chill leisure of your everyday feline thank you very much.
Something I would like to make content for:
All my fandoms. All of it. I write less than I honestly should; Sandman and Watcher and Good Omens and OFMD
Something I was excited about that turned out to dissappoint me:
*blinks* Oh God, i cant think of anything. Theres that book carnival, but it was a surprise, and it exceeded my poor memory and expectations, even if I didnt find what i was looking for. Hmm. If anything dissapointed me, it doesnt come to mind.
Hidden talent:
I have no idea ❤
Something I wish to have at this very moment:
A bite of chocolate. Maybe a cookie. But I'm broke enough to keep an eye out for the bank account and i cant afford such luxuries. Im even out of cocoa. Sigh.

Most Powerful Mutations
Sapiens always want to know what the most "powerful", hardcore mutations are. It's like, one of the top three questions I get on a daily basis (the other two are "are u contagious" and "do u know magneto omg"). I'm defining "powerful" here as "able to do things that shift the very fundamentals of our universe and/or have very few limitations". This list overlaps quite a bit with the most rare mutations, which is why most people think of one or two key figures when these mutations are mentioned. So without further ado, here is one mutobiologist student's top ten most powerful mutations (in no particular order)
Vocifery. The first three on this list are all related to the same general effect: reality manipulation. Vocifery is defined as the ability to control, change, or warp reality through speech. For example, saying "let there be light" and an area being flooded with light (I'M NOT SAYING GOD IS A MUTANT THIS IS MERELY A WAY OF EXPLAINING THE MUTATION). In all cases documented, the speaker must present the changes as commands in order for them to take effect. There is no record on whether or not sign language commands also produce effects.
Mentifery. Often considered "true" essokinesis (reality manipulation), mentifery is the ability to control, change, or warp reality through thought alone. General thoughts are not often manifested (like thinking, I wish you would go away), unless the user is in considerable duress. Usually thoughts need to be actively focused on in order to manifest. Unlike vocifery, they do not always need to be phrased as commands. Legion is the only known mutant to have fully manifested this mutation.
Essokinesis. The umbrella term for all reality manipulation. Mutants with this power who don't have vocifery or mentifery warp reality through movement, drawing, or a combination of actions. While the Scarlet Witch has demonstrated both vocifery and mentifery, she is most known for her skill at general essokinesis.
Atomkinesis. Anyone ever heard of The Phoenix Force? Yup, classic example of atomkinesis. Essentially telekinesis at its most extreme, those with this mutation are able to move atoms with their minds.
Gravikinesis. Pretty much exactly what it sounds like, gravikinesis is the control and manipulation of gravity. A milder manifestation of this mutation is flight which is fairly common, to the more extreme manifestation of being able to create a black hole. Xorn, whose gravikinesis transformed his head into a miniature star, is the most studied example of this mutation.
Electromagnekinesis. No, I'm not just putting it on the list because it's my mutation! Electromagnekinesis can come in two forms: control over the electromagnetic spectrum of light, and control over the same spectrum combined with magnekinesis. Because the range of control is so broad and includes some of the fundamental forces of existence, there is potentially no limit to this power.
Chronokinesis. Unlike its counterparts, chronoportation and precognition, chronokinesis is the manipulation of time itself. The most common manifestation of this mutation is Time Bubbles, pockets of space where time is slowed. When the comic book character Superman reverses time by flying around the planet, that is also chronokinesis. Some speculation exists as to whether super speed is really a form of chronokinesis, based on mutants' descriptions of how they perceive the passing of time. There is no recorded case of fully manifested chronokinesis to date.
Telepathy (certain forms). Telepathy, while treated as a singular power, is actually more of an umbrella term for a wide variety of mind-based mutations. The two most potent are the ability to stop the movement and thoughts of others, mimicking time control, and puppet mastery, which is the control of another’s mind to the point where the telepath can make them do or say whatever they desire. Charles Xavier is a master at both variations, though he rarely uses the latter.
Mutatikinesis. One could say this is the mastery of the very essence of mutation. It is the ability to manifest any mutation or adaptation. Though mutants with this ability cannot control which mutation will manifest or when, it seems to be directly tied to the amygdala's fight or flight response. Therefore, the body will mutate however it is needed to deal with a stressor. Darwin is the best known example of this incredible power.
Power Mimicry. Power Mimicry is highly variable in how it presents, from life force absorption to mimnipotentikinesis. Some people can only hold one power at a time, some cause physical damage to those whose powers they adopt, and some can only hold a power for a limited amount of time. However, as is the case with Hope Summers, not only can some mutants with this ability permanently hold an unlimited amount of powers without damage to the original mutant, they can also have immediate mastery of that power. Such cases are rare, but they make power mimicry one of the most powerful mutations we know of.

Sanguine (Akuma Kan):
Personality - He’s extremely shy and timid yet heroic at heart. He finds it hard to talk to people and be the center of attention but if the situation calls for it…he’ll attempt to save people no matter what.
Looks - He shares his father’s height so he’s naturally tall. He also shares his father’s hair and muscular build but he is much slimmer than his father and doesn’t quite have his father’s bulk.
Quirk - Bloodletting
Properties - The quirk allows Akuma to manipulate his own blood. The blood can shoot from his skin like a bullet and can even explode when shot with enough velocity. He can also create blood tendrils that act like tentacles and can be used to fight but also rescue people. His blood allows for a quick healing cycle since it has to rip through his skin. His blood can also harden to create powerful shields and body armor. He can also create clones through his blood…and can travel via liquefying into blood and sprouting up where he intends.
Drawbacks - Too much exertion of blood means his body isn’t getting enough circulation…so he can easily succumb to limbs falling asleep, massive migraines, queasiness, potential black outs, and blood rushes temporarily giving him vision impairment…and blood cannot be withdrawn from his body for over 10 minutes without risking cardiac arrest. His quirk also requires for a lot of liquid ingestion to regenerate lost blood.
Venus: (Sakura Nishiya):
Personality - Sakura is incredibly sweet often to her own detriment. She often puts other people’s feelings before hers, forgetting about her own problems. Sakura is also scarily intelligent when it comes to strategy in fighting.
Looks - Sakura boasts long green hair with flower growths seemingly sprouting from her scalp. She’s also pretty tall and has a muscular build.
Quirk - Mother Nature
Properties - Mother Nature allows for Sakura to manipulate plants. She can cause the plants to grow to extreme sizes and bend to her will. Her quirk allows for her to forcefully evolve the plants allowing for them to release pheromones or grow tangible vines for her to control
Drawbacks - Her quirk is only powerful during the day while the plants get sunlight…at night, her powers are severely limited beyond being able to just move the plants. Her quirk also requires her to stay hydrated…because the quality of the plants is directly tied to her health. The quirk also only works within viable soil that can properly host a plant.
Hex: (Uno Tatsuma):
Personality - Uno is very boisterous and confident in his abilities to the point where he can become pretty cocky and lose sight of his goal. Despite his cockiness, he is a good person and is very loving towards his friends and family.
Looks - Uno is considered very handsome and boasts deep purple hair and doughy purple eyes. He’s considerably tall and muscular and has sharp features.
Quirk - Bad Luck
Properties - Bad Luck allows for Uno to create black energy orbs from his hand. These orbs can be shot out and cause a variety of effects. The orbs are slightly explosive when they make physical impact with something…but that’s not the star of the show with this quirk. The main feature of this quirk is that on impact, it can cause a foe to suffer serious bad luck. When the orbs hit…they can cause a foe to trip and fall, suffer rapid onset narcolepsy, set off a chain of events that somehow leads an anvil falling on the foes’ head etc. etc.
Drawbacks - The level of bad luck isn’t consistent and is sometimes unreliable so it requires multiple orbs to be thrown…but the orbs directly rely on UNO’s molecular makeup of his hands. So when orbs are thrown in excess…they begin to make his hands and arms very brittle
Skinwalker (Amaya Gima):
Personality - Amaya is very gentle and kind. She often puts on the front of someone who doesn’t care…but once you get to know her, she’s truly a sweet person.
Looks - Amaya has long black hair. She’s average height and has pretty dark brown eyes.
Quirk - Beast Body
Properties - This quirk allows Amaya to change the anatomy of her physical body. All she has to do is think of an animal…and her body begins to shift into the creature.
Drawbacks - The quirk hurts every time Amaya performs it. The quirk also takes awhile for her to shift to an animal and shift back.
Psi (Kaneki Usagiyama):
Personality - Kaneki is incredibly reserved and cold. He doesn’t talk very much but when he does…it’s often demeaning. Kaneki views himself as more important than his peers…he’s also very intelligent and skilled in battle.
Looks - Kaneki sports dark blue hair. He’s average height but with a fit build. His eyes are also blue but when using his quirk…his hair and eyes begin to glow neon pink.
Quirk - Psychokinesis
Properties - Psychokinesis allows Kaneki to extort his brain beyond its limits…allowing him to use a strong form of telekinesis that can crush anything in its path. Psychokinesis allows telepathy as well. But one of the biggest boasts for this powerful skill…is that it can create deadly psionic blasts that can disintegrate anything they touch.
Drawbacks - when Psychokinesis is exerted for long periods of time…it starts to over exert his brain and cause massive headaches that severely slow down his abilities
Wormhole (Aimi Fujioka):
Personality - Aimi is incredibly shy, often resulting in her being unable to talk to anyone but her close friends. Despite her shyness…she is incredibly determined…and nothing will get in the way of her becoming a pro hero.
Looks - Aimi has short pink hair. She is also considerably short and has big doughy pink eyes.
Quirk - Teleportation
Properties - When Aimi envisions a specific place and touches her fingers together…she can cause a dimensional rip that she can teleport through. When the rip is paired with another rip…she can simply walk through it like an open door…but when the rip is alone, it sucks things in like a black hole.
Drawbacks - The quirk cannot work if Aimi hasn’t seen the area she wants the rip to appear. The rip can also only stay open for a maximum of 10 seconds.
Vortex (Arakan Ahane):
Personality - Arakan is incredibly nice but very ditzy and naive. Arakan has no problem complimenting people but often finds himself forgetting everything…sometimes even forgetting how to spell his own name.
Looks - Arakan has fluffy green hair and big green eyes. He’s pretty fit and has an average height.
Quirk - Time Jump
Properties - Time Jump allows Arakan to jump a few seconds into the future. When Arakan snaps his fingers…his quirk shoots him through a few seconds in his future. This allows Arakan to be very agile, dodging attacks and “jumping” well into high places most people wouldn’t be able to reach. When Arakan first jumps and right after, it causes electricity to shoot through the air…so getting close to him before a jump could result in a small electrical shock.
Drawbacks - The quirk has a 5 second cool down and when not aimed precisely…Arakan could end up getting stuck in walls or floors leaving him open to attack.
Aquarias (Chinami Aikawa):
Personality - Chinami is incredibly intelligent and nice. She often scores 100% on all of her written tests and you can leave it to her to develop a battle plan. However, due to her parents’ strictness on grades…it left Chinami very uncertain and personally insecure with her own skills.
Looks - Chinami has very long pale blue hair. She also has a slim fit figure with an above average height.
Quirk - Flood
Properties - Flood allows Chinami to telekinetically control any surrounding moisture or liquid. This can allow Chinami to cause giant destructive tsunamis or her favorite move from a cartoon she watches…giant water hands to crush her opponents and water wings to fly. Chinami’s ability also allows for more subtle moves…such as creating bubbles.
Drawbacks - Chinami’s quirk solely relies on the accessibility of nearby liquids or the amount of moisture in the air…without a good amount of either, her quirk is rendered semi-useless.
Whirlwind (Daichi Bushida):
Personality - Daichi is incredibly cocky often to his own detriment. He lacks the ability to recognize his own weaknesses and is often regarded as kind of an asshole. But his lack of outward recognition of his weaknesses often results in him pushing himself past his limits to prove his worth.
Looks - Daichi sports groomed black hair. He has sharp dark eyes and is quite tall and muscular.
Quirk - Cyclone
Properties - Cyclone allows Daichi to create whirlwinds from his hands. These whirlwinds can be anywhere from small controlled gusts that he can shoot at you…all the way to a giant tornado capable of mass destruction.
Drawbacks - too much wind power from his quirk takes a toll on his hand…he often ends up spraining his hand from the sheer wind power he can create.
Atomic (Hoshi Bushida):
Personality - Hoshi is similar to her brother in that she’s competitive and pushes herself past her limits. But unlike her brother, she knows her flaws and she has a strong sense of humility. This allows her to be emotionally mature unlike her brother…and it keeps her down to earth and quite intelligent.
Looks - Hoshi has long black hair often seen tied in a ponytail. She’s viewed as being incredibly pretty and she’s tall with a fit build.
Quirk - Disassemble
Properties - When Hoshi touches something…she can disassemble it on an atomic level…even living things. This allows Hoshi to completely remove an entire wall…or if need be…an entire foe.
Drawbacks - the disassembled object or person will reassemble unharmed anywhere between 10-20 minutes later and the quirk also requires her to touch the object to disassemble it.
Puppet Master (Joben Takao):
Personality - Joben is incredibly self-centered to where he might actually literally be in love with himself. Joben is also a strict neat freak.
Looks - Joben is considered incredibly handsome and he has crimson red hair with sharp facial features. He’s considerably tall and muscular.
Quirk - Possessor
Properties - Possessor allows Joben to temporarily possess someone’s body after he’s touched or been touched by someone. While possessing someone, he can use their quirks and has complete control over their body
Drawbacks - the possession only lasts a maximum of 5 minutes. The quirk also leave’s Joben’s real body out of commission and open for attacks
Static Shock (Kana Ryujin):
Personality - Kana is a total bimbo who completely forgets everything. Despite her absent mindedness…she’s very kind and outgoing.
Looks - Kana is pretty short with long pink hair tied in a ponytail. She has round dark eyes full of spirit and vigor.
Quirk - Lightning Rod
Properties - Lightning Rod allows Kana to shoot high voltage electricity out of her arms. Her quirk allows her to either shoot little shocks or full on thunder storms out of her arms.
Drawbacks - Kana’s not safe from the electricity itself…every time she activates her quirk, she shocks herself too.
Lion (Kazuhiko Yamaguchi):
Personality - Kazuhiko is incredibly intelligent and reserved. He often finds himself acing his tests…and he loves to fulfill his duty of class President.
Looks - Kazuhiko is incredibly tall and muscular. He blonde slicked back hair and glasses. Kazuhiko is well groomed and handsome and he also has a lion’s tail
Quirk - Cat Man
Properties - Kazuhiko can use the energy from food…to gain extreme muscle mass, grow claws, gain night vision, have enhanced senses, enhanced agility, and a mighty roar
Drawbacks - the quirk only lasts for as long as there’s food in his stomach…but the quirk absorbs the energy from the food…allowing for his powers to only be useful for mere moments. The enhanced senses can also be negated with bright lights in his eyes, foul smells, and extremely loud noises.
Octo (Kichi Calamari):
Personality - Kichi is awkward, adorable, and incredibly shy. Despite her shyness, she’s also scarily intelligent.
Looks - Kichi has a mutant type quirk. She has long orange-ish red-ish hair. She’s pretty short and has beady eyes.
Quirk - Octopus
Properties - Octopus is a mutant type quirk…meaning it’s always on her. Her quirk means she has eight slimy tentacles attached to her back, each with a hooked suction cup. Her quirk also explains why she’s incredibly intelligent. She can also secrete a slippery mucus from her skin. Her quirk also allows her to shoot ink from her mouth to blind foes.
Drawbacks - like an octopus…she needs to constantly stay hydrated…less she face drying out
Tremor (Kitaro Ryujin):
Personality - Kitaro is just like his sister in that he has no idea what’s going on ever…but he’s happy doing it.
Looks - Kitaro is described as being pretty handsome with an average height, muscular build, and spiky brown hair.
Quirk - Bulldoze
Properties - When Kitaro touches the ground…he can cause an immense seismic wave that causes a massive earthquake
Drawbacks - The quirk only works on solid ground…so sand, air, and water are unaffected by his quirk…grass also reduces the strength of the earthquake
Magnet (Leiko Fukumoto):
Personality - Leiko is pretty arrogant, but her arrogance is backed up with her high intelligence and great combat skills. Despite her arrogance, she’s pretty funny and somewhat laid back
Looks - She boasts long beautiful silver hair. She’s also pretty tall and muscular with solid steel colored eyes.
Quirk - Magnetic Pull
Properties - Her quirk allows her to telekinetically control metals. Her powers can let her lift semi trucks and even most buildings and launch them at you. She’s also known to quickly make protective shields out of surrounding metals.
Drawbacks - the strength of her magnetic pull solely revolves around the amount of iron in her body…when she has an iron deficiency…her quirk is rendered useless.
Forgemaster (Osamu Saito):
Personality - Osamu has a very protective and commanding personality. He often finds himself taking charge and protecting those he cares for. He also idolizes his pro hero cousin Momo Yaoyorozu and wishes to be just like her.
Looks - Osamu boasts light purple hair and soft facial features. He’s of an average height…but considerably fit.
Quirk - Weapon Hands
Properties - Osamu can turn his hand into any weapon as long as he knows exactly what the weapon is made of. His range can be from an entire cannon…to a simple knife.
Drawbacks - He must know the exact materials of the weapon…and the quirk draws upon energy from his body…so too much shifting to different weapons easily wears him out
Dopplëganger (Shina Saito):
Personality - Shina is incredibly nice and funny…but deep down, she’s insecure. She feels that she won’t live up to her cousin or her brother and she suffers from a severe identity crisis cause she feels she can’t even live up to herself.
Looks - Shina is viewed as being really pretty with long black hair. She’s kinda short and has a slim body type.
Quirk - Cloner
Properties - when she touches someone she can turn herself into them for around 6.5 minutes. Her quirk allows her to use their quirk as well.
Drawbacks - she’s only limited to 6.5 minutes per person and only one person at a time
Anti-Matter (Taishiro Tachi):
Personality - Taishiro is extremely confident but never arrogant. He’s also incredibly nice and out spoken about his ambitions and ideas
Looks - Taishiro is average height with a slim build. He has light blue hair and purple eyes filled with determination
Quirk - Light Constructs
Properties - his quirk allows him to create quite literally anything out of light…from a protective shield all the way to a functioning tank
Drawbacks - he must know exactly how his creation works or it’ll turn out faulty…his quirk also requires light so it cannot work in the dark
Gamma Ray (Yasuko Sugimoto):
Personality - she acts kinda like a big sister…she’s there for everyone when they need a shoulder to cry on. This comes from her feeling like other people’s problems are her fault…so she tries to fix them.
Looks - Yasuko has blonde hair in a side ponytail. She’s pretty tall and slim and has soft facial features.
Quirk - Gamma
Properties - when Yasuko claps her hands together…a giant destructive laser shoots from them with incredible force
Drawbacks - the laser is so bright it can temporarily blind her

Justice League International #7 (1987)
Tumblr media
Kevin Maguire not really trying looks an awful lot like John Romita Jr at his best.
Ah! It feels good to be back! Taking a crack at John Romita Jr while he's just sitting there not doing anything particularly wrong. Just going about his business pretending to be a comic book artist! I don't know what John Romita's politics are but I bet he now agrees with Donald Trump on one thing: naming your kid after you is a huge fucking mistake. Was all that previous nonsense poisonous, vile, and toxic? I suppose one could argue the point. But I'd also guess that somebody arguing that point has never seen John Romita Jr's art. Or perhaps they have seen it and like it because they have a terribly underdeveloped sense of aesthetics. Otherwise nobody would argue with me at all! They'd just read the previous poisonous, vile, toxic nonsense and nod their heads in agreement while pausing for a second to snort a line of Adderall. Fine, I'm sorry, JRJR! Obviously you're an artist! Drawing squinty people with block heads and weird noses holding geometric guns without a single curve on them absolutely falls under the definition of art! Although I draw the line at accepting that Rob Liefeld is an artist. That's a bridge too far! What the fuck does that even mean, "a bridge too far"? It must be a term bombers in WWII used, right? "What the fuck do you mean, carpet bomb Dresden?! If we fly past the Geralthauskopfplatz Bridge, we're definitely getting scrawked by anti-aircraft flak, you bingehart!" Did that sound like an authentic American bomber pilot from the 40s? It's not like Catch-22 is my favorite book or something. Wait. Catch-22 is my favorite book. I guess I'm just no good at written impressions. I assure you it sounds exactly what you'd expect from an American pilot in the Forties if you heard me do the impression live. Also, this is probably the last month of my life where I'll be able to say, "Catch-22 is my favorite book." Because I'm over 500 pages into Gravity's Rainbow and it's just as fucking amazing as everybody who has pretended to read it says it is. This issue begins with Guy Gardner regaining consciousness after having been violently assaulted by his employer.
Tumblr media
Why was the mouse glowing green?!
In my memory, Guy Gardner's change from dickhole to sweetest guy on the team came after Batman punched his lights out. But apparently that isn't the case. It's possible this new whack on the head is the cause or maybe it's something a bit later. I bet an editorial mandate came down which said they couldn't have Guy suffer serious head trauma from Batman punching him. So they had to add this new scene where Guy basically gives himself the head trauma that results in a catastrophic change in personality. The Justice League didn't quite finish destroying The Gray Man last issue so that story gets resolved pretty quickly this issue. Doctor Fate transported him to the Realms of Order where a big blob of Order disintegrates him. Which is what he ultimately wanted. It's what we all ultimately want. It's just you don't know that you want it until you've lived long enough for all the wonder to be bled out of life. That's why he's the Gray Man! Some people think life's too short but at 49, I'm beginning to suspect that it's way too fucking long.
Tumblr media
This comic book passes the Reverse Bechdel Test: "Any story that has only one woman in it and every scene she's in, she's treated like a sexual object."
With The Gray Man out of the way, it's time to get to the important part of the story: turning the Justice League of America into Justice League International! I wonder how many people this change pissed off in the 80s? Fucking globalist woke elite bubble bullshit! People talk in derogatory terms about the coastal bubbles but they absolutely shouldn't. I won't disagree that I grew up in a totally different environment in the San Francisco Bay Area than people who grew up in the Midwest. A bubble? Sure. But it was a fucking good thing. I was recently showing the Non-Certified Spouse some of the station breaks from local stations in the late 70s and early 80s out of San Francisco and she was amazed at the representative shorts these stations presented, especially KTVU's "Bits and Pieces." Sure, there were the ones about ethics and morality humorously presented with a horse and bulldog puppet. But there were also the ones that showed different ethnicities and their lives, often ending with "I'm proud to be a Chinese American!" or "I'm proud to be a Black American!" The one about Japanese Americans even mentioned how Japanese families were put in interment camps during World War II. One was about Italian Americans and instead of Italian history, it just showed Italian art and various activities of people in the Italian community. One of the Japanese American shorts just had a Japanese American kid having to explain how he was tired of answering questions about being Japanese in America because he was fourth generation and just American as anybody else. But I guess that kind of commie pinko hogwash is why I'm a big fat America hating socialist! As I was saying before my politics politely interrupted (my politics interrupting impolitely would look like this: Trump voters should be forced to shit in their own mouths for all eternity), the main thrust of this story is to set up Justice League International. Judging by the cover, that means hiring some guy with a bucket on his head from Russia and Captain Atom, another white American male.
Tumblr media
Ah yes! The introduction of the best character of the series: Big Barda!
Big Barda might not be on the team but at least there's another female character. Sure, Doctor Light was sort of on the team for three pages. And pretty soon, Fire and Ice will join. But it's mostly just been poor Black Canary having to put up with Booster and Blue Beetle's jokes about banging her. Max and J'onn discuss the United Nations possibly backing the Justice League while Superman talks respectfully with President Reagan. What a mistake! The biggest do-gooder on the planet normalizing fucking Ronald Reagan! He should be scolding him with a liberal smattering of Kryptonian tsk-tsks! That's when a Kryptonian gives you a little burst of heat vision every time you deny the AIDS crisis or invoke the spectre of Welfare Queens or destroy the economy by lowering the top marginal tax rates pretending that the money saved will trickle down to everyone instead of fat corporate cats simply keeping all the extra for bonuses and investors. Fuck that guy. I'm so mad now!
Tumblr media
Of all the digs they could have taken with Reagan, they poke fun of his dementia?! Christ, Giffen and DeMatteis.
Hal Jordan drops by headquarters to give Guy a good talking-to but Guy doesn't need it because he's suffered a traumatic head injury on top of his brain damage alongside Batman's sucker punch to the face and now he's Mister Sweetbeans. And because he's acting so nice, nobody gives a shit that this is actually a medical emergency. Backing Maxwell Lord is a computer satellite in space. Is it Brother Eye already?! Are they already working together in 1987?! Or is it just some alien gizmo from the Millennium bullshit coming up? I don't remember! Heck, this Maxwell Lord might even be a Manhunter! Anyway, the satellite begins destroying shit on Earth with a giant heat beam. The Justice League, having nearly nobody who can do anything about it, doesn't call Superman to fix the problem. Instead, they decide to spend precious hours borrowing a space shuttle from STAR Labs to launch them into space to battle the space station. Also, they leave Guy Gardner back at headquarters on monitor duty. Because who needs the guy with experience battling in space with a ring that can protect every other member of the League while in space? Also the ring is the greatest weapon in the universe. So, you know, sideline that guy, right?
Tumblr media
It's possible this was in the era where Superman couldn't survive in space either, really. But then that's even more incentive to get fucking Guy Gardner up there with them!
The Justice League manages to stop the satellite's destruction but mostly only because it was a huge set-up so every nation could see them save the world. Everybody wants them defending the planet now so the United Nations agrees to back them with one condition: two new members, one to pacify the U.S. and one to pacify the U.S.S.R.
Tumblr media
I've read a lot of ridiculous things in comic books but Rocket Red's power levels being nearly equal to Captain Atom's might be the most ridiculous.
I love how Captain Atom's power level is 9+ but Rocket Red's power level is 8.43 instead of 8+. I guess the accuracy of whatever system they're using breaks down over 9. Captain Marvel quits the team and Batman steps down as leader so J'onn can lead. And that's about it, I guess! The issue ends with some kind of flim-flam about how its the 80s and we've become a global world and boundaries just don't work anymore and superheroes are cool as shit. I guess it's inspirational or something. There's still just one woman on the team though. Justice League International #7 Rating: B. Seven issues in and the Justice League has defeated two villains who weren't actual threats to anybody. They were just scams to get the Justice League some press. They also beat up and killed an old guy who was just frustrated with the boredom that came with the immortality the Lords of Order forced on him. So all in all, they're nearly as terrible as the New Titans who practically only ever battled relatives while putting the residents of New York City in danger every time.

This is Threeeee Dog, bringing you the hot, the heavy, and the just plain hellacious of the Capitol Wasteland. Do yourself a favor and listen to Galaxy News Radio, it's cheaper than chems.
Only one news item making the rounds today, but boy is it a biggie- the Jefferson Memorial, ex-home of a whole lotta Super Mutants, has been cleaned out to play host to the first peace conference in Washington since the bomb drop. That's right kiddoes, representatives of half a dozen major communities are gathering to talk about making your wasteland a little less of a shithole, including the Brotherhood, the Enclave, and your favorite Moira Brown of Megaton! Who'll be checking in with us this Saturday as usual, for more tips from her ever-popular Wasteland Survival Guide.
That is, assuming the conference cease-fire doesn't segue like this segment, to a whole lotta hackin' and whackin'...
Whatever they had expected on entering the Jefferson Memorial, and Arcade's been ready for everything up to Autumn trying his damn Mesmetron again, the tiny woman in workman overalls immediately waylaiding them wasn't it.
"Boone! My favorite research assistant ever! I'd hug you but I know you're picky about that."
"Do I know you?" Boone growls, stepping back towards his wife.
"You'll have to forgive him," Arcade intercedes. "He had a...bad bump on the head. Some memory problems."
It doesn't seem that Moira's bubbly cheer can be dampened by much, but she makes a valiant effort. "Oh no! That's really terrible- you mean you don't remember jumping off that roof to help me with the chapter on injuries? Or getting rad poisoning? Or all the poor little moles that exploded when you tested my repellant stick?"
"...no."
"Oh, that's too bad, it really is. I hope you feel better soon- and the house in Megaton is waiting you know, whenever you'd like to move in."
"I have a house?"
"He has a house?" Manny says incredulously.
"He sure does! That is, it was going to be for the Lone Wanderer but he said he didn't need it and you could have it, and you've been fixing it up with all kinds of nice little goodies. The last thing you were going to buy was the Nuka-Cola machine, you were saving up for that and then you just disappeared. I was a teensy tiny bit worried, so I thought I'd hitch a lift with Lucky's Caravan and try out my own guide- and here you are, safe and sound! Or safe, anyway."
"...sure."
Moira beams. "Aw, you haven't changed a bit. I'll be sleeping in the gift shop tonight, come by if you want anything repaired! Right now I'm off to go see how Project Purity works, see you later!"
She departs; leaving quiet and a certain sense of relief.
"I thought we had a home already," Carla says, hugging her husband distractedly.
"So did I. Wish I knew what I was thinking."
"Whatever it was, you didn't tell me," Manny says. He sounds hurt. "Maybe I should have stayed home with Cindy."
"We need you," Arcade reassures him quietly. "You're the only one who can make a stand for Nacochtank."
Manny sighs, lets his hands stray to his hunting rifle. "I know. But that caught me off guard."
They move further in, down stone halls that someone has made an effort to tidy. Hannibal's been busy, it seems; Manny's keeps up a constant running commentary as to who people are, and who they represent. Canterbury Commons and the Regulators; which in turn has led to Littlehorn contractors and even a few Talon Company mercs. The Memorial feels like a powder keg, and it bristles with weapons.
This has so much potential to go terribly wrong.
Arcade can't help flinching when they see the first soldier in Hellfire armor; Boone places himself in front of Carla, who hugs Daisy closer. Any thought that they should have separated vanishes; none of them are whole, they have to come to terms with that or they'll never get over this fear.
"It's all right," Manny says. "They aren't taking you again, Arcade."
The warm hand on his shoulder stops him trembling.
*****
Boone
Don't think I've been minding this so much as the others.
Arcade, he hates not having all his knowledge at his fingertips, and Carla says the gap between who she was and who she feels like is still too wide. But I didn't need Manny to tell me I'm a good soldier, ready to take orders. Maybe if Autumn had pushed me the right way, if I'd been "clean", I would have disappeared into power armor and never seen daylight again.
And when Manny found us at Rivet City, told me who I was and what my blood-sight was, I gave him all that trust instead. Made the others see him my way.
Only now there's things about me that he can't account for, he looks at me with tenderness he doesn't have for Carla and Arcade, and I don't know what he's hiding. Or what I was hiding from him.
No, strike that. It was something unforgivable. There's no gun made can wipe away your mistakes, I guess.
But was I going to run from him, or with him?
*****
Carla
"The elder Autumn, at your service." He kisses her hand chivalrously.
She resists the impulse to deck him with it. "Charmed."
"Carla Boone, of the Nacochtank settlement," Manny says, a threat rumbling beneath his smooth words. "She'd be missed."
"I'm sure she would," James says, elegantly stepping back. "Still, it's a pleasure to meet the woman who's captured the whole Wasteland's heart- I do regret not meeting you before that grandiose escape, all the same. A good deal of...unnecessary drama could have been avoided."
There isn't a word in the Capitol for what she's thinking, his mixture of snake and wolf. She takes a crispy mirelurk cake from the buffet table, thinks about driving the metal pick into the more tender parts of his face.
"So when's zero hour? Everyone here knows the Enclave's here to show off its technological prowess."
He tuts. "Technically, Project Purity is separate from the Enclave, per se. I might be very proud of my son's success under President Eden's regime, but Purity is a Rivet City project and always has been. Its effects will benefit the whole Wasteland, of course."
Daisy starts to cry.
Just as well: changing diapers gets her gracefully out of the conversation, and stops her getting into debate.
And with the showdown that's bound to come, it's just as well to keep her powder dry.
*****
Veronica
"She likes yoooou."
"She does not," Christine splutters, taking my hand- the one without the atomic cocktail in it. "All Sarah sees is COS Knight Christine Royce, someone she'd like to have on her side."
"See? You're already calling her Sarah."
"She's more stuck up than Hardin. That takes some doing." My girlfriend leans in for a kiss, and gets it. "She's just playing nice and hoping for resupply from the Mojave chapter- V, are you sure this is how we want to play it? I trusted Carla, but that was before the Enclave captured her. She might be compromised."
The rest of my cocktail goes down quick. "Even if she is- even if those escapees are nothing more than Enclave puppets- she left a legacy. That Follower base is the brightest hope in DC, I promised her I'd defend it and I will."
"Then I'll back you to the hilt. Always."
"Always."
We clink glasses as Sarah comes back in, having swapped out her power armor for something...a little more sparkly and with a lot less back. If memory serves, that was the dress worn by the last First Lady at the First Street Wax Museum. Nice bit of salvage.
"C? What did I tell you?"
Christine drains her drink impertuably. "Ah, to be constantly the target of beautifully dressed women with their eye on me. What a fate."
"Oh, there you are Christine! It was silly to be wandering around in full armor- shall we pick up where we left off? I'll buy you a drink?"
"By all means," Christine says, as tranquil and unapproachable as I've ever seen.
Only thing that undercuts it is my giggles.

hm. well, as always with philosophy, it down to definitions!
I think in my experience, when people say "free" will, they mean it on two main ways:
(1) an external will is not puppeting me: I am the one ultimately responsible for my own choices
(2) my future actions are not written in stone: I could choose easy option A, but I could equally choose hard option B if I used more of my "willpower"
I think I do agree that the first kind of free will exists. Even if we make decisions because of our past experiences and our personal brain structure and whatever free-floating neurochemicals happen to bubble up in our brain that millisecond, the one making the decision is still us, not someone else. What decisions I make are constrained by the laws of physics that govern the workings of my body, but when I decide to do something as a result of my personal belief system, I'm not deluding myself that I'm in control while really just at the mercy of my brain chemistry. Of course I am at the mercy of my brain chemistry, but there is no meaningful distinction to be made between "my belief system" and "my brain chemistry." Conscious and subconscious and unconscious thought is brain chemistry.
So when you put work into becoming a better person, that is you putting in the work because you decided to, because you had just enough willpower and just enough education to pursue that course of action, to push yourself toward somewhere better. You are your brain and your body. There is no "self" that is not subjected to the limitations of physics; the mind is an emergent property of your brain and subject to the same limitations as anything else. All the neurochemistry firing in your brain to allow you to have internal debates over whether to choose compassion, whether to grow as a person? That's all just as much part of your physical body as anything else.
It doesn't matter that we can't personally crunch the numbers; what matters is that we know things never happen for no reason. Even if the reason is quantum randomness, that's still a reason.
That means that both pride and shame become complicated. What does it mean to take pride in your accomplishments, or be ashamed of your failures, if both are just the inevitable outcomes of an atomic set of dominoes? Well, I think they just become particular facets of happiness and sadness - happiness to be shared, not lorded over others as a sign of inherent worth; sadness to be mourned and moved past, not self-flagellated over.
I just don't think there's any compelling logical or scientific reason to believe that I ever really had the chance to pick Hard Option B. You cannot work with resources you don't have. I don't mean that financially, I mean it emotionally - psychologically - neurochemically. If a thought does not occur to you at any point, there is no "you" outside yourself that can force it to occur. If neither mentor nor friend nor personal experience nor media exposure ever teaches you a way to look at the world, you cannot force yourself to adopt that worldview by dint of some magic sourceless knowledge. If someone tries to teach you something but you do not have the energy or inclination to try to absorb it, that means you physically can't absorb it! You can't work with resources you don't have!
We just don't really know what resources we do have, because, as you note, we can't run calculations that complex. I still don't think it's fair to call living within that unpredictable space "free will." That's a very bloodless incarnation of the concept. Sure, we all experience the world as independent beings with agency, but that's just another way of saying that we ourselves are an active part of our own circumstances. It doesn't free us from the casual chain. Just because we can't run the numbers ourselves doesn't mean the calculation is random!
I'm always going to experience myself as an individual with agency, because that's how humans evolved to construct their mental model of the world. Thinking in terms of "Everything I do is caused by a precipitating stimulus," and then waiting to be stimulated before taking any action, wrongly excludes "the thoughts that led to the decision to take action" as a precipitating factor. We generally are our own precipitating factors! We're just the last ten thousand steps on a journey of infinite miles.
I'm starting to fall asleep, but please feel free to ask me any clarifying questions...
Do you think the question of free will is relevant?
Not particularly, I think it’s mostly edgy people jacking off. Not saying there is no room for debate about what and how free will is, but I think if you reason yourself into thinking it doesn’t exist there isn’t a whole lot to gain from that.

MAYRA I JUST HAD A HEADCANON have you seen this Spider-Man movie where Gwen was played by Emma Stone? I don't want to spoil you if you haven't but it would be so great for a sonamy moment
The one where she dies? (Watch Scene Clip) Ahh… well, I hope you don’t mind, I have an alternative idea that will still touch on this, but maybe more of a happy and dramatic ending ^^

Sonic Forces concept writing
Prompt:
Shadow held the spent Amy by her throat, doing as he was told by Infinite. Over a large, carved like an earthquakes crevice drop that would surely be the end of it.
“NOO!!” Sonic powered up, his super form sparking to life as he sped forward, leaving the sides of both Gadget (Custom Chara) and Classic Sonic.
Infinitely lightly chuckled a mock, looking down as he saw the yellow stream blazing through the dark reds emanating from the crevices where his cubes power were already in effect upon the dimensions of the world.
Not only were the dark, murky colors of the dirt and steely, collapsing buildings around them proof enough of Eggman’s horrible rein, but only more so reflecting the world Infinite would create… If not stopped…
Eggman was nothing more than a puppet show! A fraud for Infinite’s real purposes.
A fake napoleon.
Eggman, on his knees, hands out to support him, lowered his head at seeing the scene.
Sure, he wanted to kill Sonic… but not… not like this.
He quickly got up, gripping and struggling to get a Chaos Emerald out of Chaos’s hands.
“You stupid, waterballoon!” He kept struggling, getting tossed back and forth as he did so, before Chaos whacked him away, and he fell back; turning to land on his belly and arms.
He heaved in heavy breaths, before getting up, his face swarmed with guilt. “I didn’t want any of this… I wanted an Eggman empire… not the deaths of my only… GRAH!” he smashed his fist against the ground and got up again. “Sonic may not be able to keep his super form for long without that emerald. And I’ll be DARNED if I let some other fool take over my dream!” he strode back to Chaos, before stopping… and slamming a fist into the side of his face.
“I’ll take down a God… if that means I can take over the world another day. I won’t be erased from all time and space! Dimensions mean nothing to me if I’m dead!”
While that was happening, Infinite shook his head, “You could have been the greatest puppet of all, Sonic… this dimension… their dimensions… All could have been one under my perfect order…” He opened out his arms, looking up to the clouds that pierced a red sunlight.
The cubes… formed around him, before starting to glow as he narrowed his one eye, not shifting off of Sonic’s approaching figure.
                                                 “…Drop her…”
“SHADOW!!!” Sonic’s eyes widened, making it up there before a wall of cubes spiraled towards him, forming a wall and then shifting into a monster, smashing him against itself and then swiping him away with an unearthly cry.
“AH!” Sonic was flung back, already weakened without the other Emeralds.
“Sha…Shadow…” Sonic’s head fidgeted as he raised it, one eye closed and the other half open. He cringed at the pain, his friends already useless in being able to help him… everyone doing what they could… but this was his fight…
Classic stepped forward, realizing…
He may not save the girl.
In a split-moment of panic, Classic raced forward, breaking sound barriers as he curved his step and ran along the side of the crevices.
He wouldn’t let that happen.
No friend was being lost.
Or left behind.
Shadow’s red stripes glowed, the same color as the cubes.
He loosened his grip.
Infinite lowered his head.
Amy started to twitch, waking up…. just barely…
“SHADOW!” Sonic gripped the ground, before yanking his head forward.
                                           “SHE’S MY MARIA!!!”
Shadow’s eyes widened as his hand was fully released from Amy’s throat..
She started to fall, as his eyes shook at that name.
He gripped his head, suddenly in great pain, as he wobbled side to side, gritting his teeth in the intesnity of the pain… the memory…
“What… what is this..?!!?!!? AHHHH!!!” He threw back his arms and cried out in pain, as a cube… slowly was being tugged and pushed out of his chest…
Infinite, realizing his control was loosening, turned back in a sharp movement, his eye scanning for understanding…
How…
How was he freeing himself!?
The painful cry was met with a relief of breath, as Shadow’s shoulders fell forward along with his head, swaying as the cube was taken out of him through sheer will power… and then he turned to the edge.
He jumped to try and catch her, but her hand just barely slipped from his grasp.
Sonic’s power overwhelmed the area, as his yellow glow burst forth as he charged infinite.
Classic arched himself and jumped back, having moved too far passed Amy and grabbed her, trying to race up while having both arms on just one of hers.
Her head fell before she flinched in pain, and looked up, wearily.
Struggling to run backwards on a rocky terrain that kept crumbling under him, and the steepness of the edge’s wall to boot… he was slipping…
In that moment, he lost his grip, and Amy started to fall.
Classic jumped for her, straining to reach her…
There was a crash, a whiplash… as suddenly a flash of light caught the recoiled bounce.
Shadow had watched Sonic fighting Infinite and his many creations with the cubes that were once controlling him, and looked to see Eggman struggling with Chaos, having a cube in him as well, glowing red…
He glared, and bite down as he skated over at light speeds, and literally dashed through chaos, pulling the emerald and cube out of him before flashing away, grabbing Classic under his arm.
Gadget, seeing Chaos grow weak, gripped the shard of the Master Emerald in his hand and raced up, sliding to then jam the shard into Chaos.
Chaos let out a piercing ring, before being absorbed back into it, and Gadget pushing his two hands against the shard, holding him in with force until he could fully be sealed into the reformed Master Emerald.
Shadow held up the Chaos Emerald, using Chaos Control to bring them both to safety, before realizing something…
Super Sonic let out a huge blast, “I’ll never let you take over this dimension… or any other one… this world… is meant to be free! And I’ll keep it that way… forever!” he spread his arms out after charging up, and with Gadget placing the last piece into Knuckles’s Master Emerald… him having held his arms up to complete the transformation…
The true power of Chaos swarmed into Sonic without measure, as the blast was engulfed the area, denigrating the cubes completely, like an atomic bomb, only destroying that which was close by, leaving a crater.
“GAAAHHH!!!” Infinite’s eye was the last to go… (I’m skipping the epic boss battle, as you can see. lol)
Sonic, coming back with his arms resting down at his sides, suddenly bolted up to stop the rift in dimensions, pulling it back together with Classic’s help, who had turned super but… his face…
Sonic hadn’t noticed.
The teams cheered when they saw the giant, glowing rift in the sky suddenly pulled back together, and Sonic gave a weary fist to Classic, waiting for a victory fist bump.
“A well deserved victory, little buddy. Thanks for taking care of Amy for me.”
Classic turned his head.
“…Buddy..?” Sonic tilted his head, trying to see Classic’s face.
Seeing the profound frown,… then his head and eyes dipping down…
He panicked, leaning back and looking down where Shadow and some of his friends were starting to gather…
up against a building, seeming to have been crashed into previously… Amy lay motionless..
Shadow went to check the pulse, as Tails quickly ran ahead of everyone, and looked down by her side.
Super Sonic dipped down, before pulling back, “No…” His hand shook, as his eyes widened in horror.
Shadow removed his hand… looking to Tails, he shook his head and lowered it in respects.
Tails stepped back… before looking to Amy, and then dropping to his knees.
Eggman and Knuckles, holding the newly made Master Emerald, made their way over with Gadget, who’s face scanned the scene, and then frowned while his shoulders bounced in grief.
Sonic slowly drifted down, before moving over to replace Shadow, and touching her face.
His head moved down to her and then back to her face, as if still in denial. “Amy… Amy you gotta hold on.”
Tails turned his head away, not going to say anything against the words.
The team all began to mourn, as Rouge held a hand over her mouth, realizing…
Blaze turned away, her fists shaking, as Silver held a hand over his face and lowered it.
Shadow… turned around….
“Come on, Ames… we won! We won, dang it!” He shouted out, his head fully ducked, as Classic flew down on the opposite side, looking over Amy again, before lowering his ear to her chest.
“Amy… you said… you said you wanted to tell me something…”
Classic looked up, his eyes glossy…
Sonic’s eyes were covered in darkness, but his mouth trembled.
“I… had something to tell you too.”
Eggman lowered one side of the Master Emerald.
“Don’t you even start, Eggman…” Knuckles warned with vicious reality… “Not now.. not ever again.”
“You don’t understand.” Eggman knelt down and then put a hand to the Master Emerald.
“If Chaos can return..”
Shadow shifted himself, “What nonsense are you trying again!?”
“Listen to me! I don’t want her to die as much as you! Summon Chaos!”
“He can only destroy, what good could-”
But Tails, in his tears and anguish, was cut off from scolding Eggman when Chaos did emerged from the Master Emerald, walking out, and heading towards the scene.
In an absolute, regal manner… he made his way over to Amy, and lightly touched Sonic’s shoulder.
Still not speaking, Sonic moved for him, and Classic watched as Chaos knelt down, and slowly began to place his clawed hand to her forehead.
He slowly gestured it down…
A glow of green light started to fly around in little balls..
The balls started to make their way out, and everywhere the bubbles touched, life began, and the city was made new, like ripples in water.
“I.. I don’t understand…” stumbling as he turned around, Silver watched in amazement as the entire war-torn landscape was replaced with a beautiful nature panorama.
“If Chaos can destroy…” Blaze suddenly spoke up, also in awe, as she then gently lowered her eyes to the Sonics and the laying Amy…
“Maybe… he can even destroy destruction itself.”
Eggman sighed in tension, his voice wavering on the breath as he rubbed and squeezed his hands together.
Sonic leaned forward, looking squarely at Amy before closing his eyes and touching his forehead to hers…
The lights continued, as Tikal’s voice suddenly rose the Master Emerald, as it glowed in a beautiful light.
“Even Chaos.. the God of Destruction himself.. can destroy it’s very self and creations… all of them… including death.”
The bubbles suddenly rushed into Amy, all at once, as Chaos stood up, and moved back.
The world was beautiful, fixed, giving new life…
And that’s when Sonic waited the longest he’d ever held still in his life…
Under his forehead… he felt a shift and a rush of a air, as Amy sucked in a fresh breath of life.
Fin~
Roll credits!
Lol nah, I’m playing~
The shift sent everyone’s eyes to Amy, smiles returning, as anxious bodies gathered and started to excitedly move and jitter around her.
She slowly moved her head, before blinking her beautiful, weakened eyes open.
“…Sonic..?”
Classic smiled, before she shifted her gaze to Sonic, still glowing…
Her vision was blurry, as she squinted, and then started to cry.
“You were right.” she admitted, pulling an arm over her eyes as she leaned her head back against the side of the building’s wall.
“I couldn’t save everyone.”
She started to softly cry before Sonic moved her arm.
“No, Amy… I was wrong.”
She blinked, seeming to maybe be aware she had died, but no one was sure…
“We couldn’t have stopped him… not fully… if I didn’t lose you.” His voice cracked in a lost moment of pain, his eyes glossed before he pulled himself down and tightly embraced her.
“I will never let you suffer for my mistakes again… I promise.”
He looked up then, “All of you!” He scanned his friends, as Gadget breathed a heavy breath.
“I won’t let his happen again, not now-” He picked Amy up, holding her close as he seriously spoke with intensity and sincerity in his eyes.
“Not ever.”
Tails was the first to break out in joy.
Then the rest starting cheering.
Classic sighed in relief, before getting up and floating over to Amy, looking down at her happily and then hugging her forehead before ‘thumbs up’ing Sonic, and then taking off into the small piece of light that was still rifted through the skies.
He waved to his friends, and then happily curled up to spin into it; having it close behind him, once he was fully within.
Sonic looked up, before back down in all the cheering to Amy, and happily held her close to his face, smiling.
She put her cheek up to the side of his face and smiled too, before looking over his shoulder.
He thought that odd and followed the action, looking to her… and then Shadow.
Shadow… was departing.
He looked down at a burnt cube… somehow having survived… and glared.
He crushed it under his foot, before walking on as the ash took it’s place.
Amy and Sonic watched in silence through the cheering, before Amy turned to Sonic, still watching.
“Would you have become like him..?”
He relaxed his eyes, giving it some thought.
“Yes.” he lightly spoke, and turned back to her. “If I really did lose you.. I would have done everything in my power… just like he did…”
She stared into his eyes, seeing no joking or mocking of any kind.
“Sonic..” her voice almost broke through the love emoted in speaking his name, shaking her head but never losing sight of him.
They touched foreheads again, before Eggman cleared his throat, and Sonic’s eyes flashed open, before slowly rolling them to Eggman, glaring so intensely he actually stepped back a moment.
He rubbed his hands together, smiling sheepishly.
“So… hehe, now that the world’s all good again and what not from Chaos’s magical ‘cancellation’ powers,… ehem. Think we could put our differences behind us?” He held out his hand, a truce?
Sonic stared at the hand, then back up to him.
He nervously started sweating, “Eh-heh… Oh, come on, Sonic! You and your little friends saved the universe! Dimensions are praising your name right now and what? You’re too cool to let me admit I’m being man enough to let bygones be bygones? A-Amy.. You tell him. You’re with me right? Forgiven and all that jazz?” The second he motioned his case to Amy, Sonic’s glare intensified and her head ducked down to hide a bit as he suddenly rose up in the air, and dropped kicked him.
Freaking out, Eggman shrieked a moment and ran off, zig-zagging like a idiot before shaking his fist.
“I’ll win next time, Sonic! You’ll see! and this time, the only casualty will be your death! Hehe!… instead of my pri-i-i-ideeee!!!” he whined, racing off.
Sonic huffed through his nose, “And good riddance. We’ll see about that, Egghead!”
Amy giggled, before Sonic turned back with a pleasant smile, closing his eyes for a moment before walking back to the gang.
*As camera is moving away*
“Um…Sonic? Not that I mind or anything but… y-you can let me go now.”
“Not a chance.”
“O-Oh?” Amy, in statement, blushed at how he said it.
“I’m never letting you slip out of my arms again. Sorry, Amy. But you’ll just have to kick back here for a while.”
Amy smiled, lowering her eyelids, completely swooning, but also perhaps, understanding why he was saying this.
“I don’t mind in the slightest… Sonic… My hero~” she lowered her head to his shoulder, as he looked down a moment in fondness before speaking to everyone, some wanting to really check on Amy and make sure she was actually still alive and alright.
The world… was never the same again.
(it’s a concept in some of the ideas for story. I highly doubt it will happen, but I manipulated the idea to one of the many concepts I’ve had for the game :) hope you enjoy! Stole some of Eggman’s actions from Hades too at the end there, lol! From Disney’s Hercules xP)

The most evident theme of the exhibition has three stages: life, death and rebirth. In particular, the new lease of life given to decrepit, unused objects, and the transition of living things from life to death. The exhibition was displayed across two contrasting floors: the first was dark, noisy and had a ‘dirty’ ambiance, whereas the second was bright, open and clean.
I first encountered a Toyota engine, removed from its original context but still intact. Nearby was a hardboard covered in brain matter and copper sulfate. The turquoise crystals grow naturally, and are so delicate that they are untouched even by the artist. This natural process portrays the ever-changing nature and fragility of life. The use of brain matter and eviscerated engine show a similar concept - the removal of vital organs from mechanical or biological systems. Both the brain and engine are the most powerful components, and therefore represent vitality.
The brain matter is a medium chosen specifically to communicate Hiorn’s political message: his annoyance at the government’s cover-up of CJD and its consequences. The use of brain matter could be considered as ethically wrong and therefore I feel that this method is ineffective at conveying his message due to alternative issues that have arisen (such as animal welfare).
A landscape of fine grey dust (an atomized aircraft engine) occupied a large space on the other side of the room. Its form has been degraded from a sophisticated piece of aerodynamic machinery to a substance that can easily be manipulated: the paths of spiders are visible across the dust as the powders are overturned. The pulverization represents the second stage, death and decay, but also the rebirth of the jet engine as a piece of art. It could also show the temporariness of life, as it cannot be moved without the composition being changed completely, or alternatively an act of the artist overcoming his fear of flying.
The walls of this section held erotic paintings created using latex. I disliked these as I felt that they did not comply with the rest of the artwork. However, the sexual connotations do emphasise the ‘dirty’ aspects of life, and the red colour could represent pain.
Upon entering the second-floor gallery, I was met by an assembly of suspended bodies created using recycled materials - a further example of giving unwanted objects a new life. The installation provoked dark imagery: I concluded that the bodies were aircraft crash victims from a disaster foretold by the previous works. The soapy, disinfectant-like scent reminded me of a hospital, and the bubbles oozing from each figure of fluids seeping from dismembered corpses. The curator has organized the sculptures to allow visitors to move through them, as though they are a part of Hiorn’s nightmare. I liked this piece as it gives the audience an opportunity to use its imagination, like children playing with puppets.
A bright, open space is occupied by a ground church alter stone, which was visually similar to the jet engine. The religious aspects of the piece gave the impression of an after-life, which relates to the idea of a third stage after death. Pain and fear has been replaced by a quiet and peaceful atmosphere which prompts visitors to move freely through the space available. Life models are sometimes included as part of the display; I feel that this would disrupt the peacefulness of the room, and make the audience move around cautiously and feel intimidated.

Now that we have all the time in the world, filling it up with movies has become an organized quest, and lists of useful movies have proliferated online. Some of them seek to cheer us up - classic comedies, vintage musicals, all happier times, of course - or to put our desperation in perspective with dystopian exercises like 12 monkeys, Mad Max, The road, And so on.I want to offer something different: a list of bizarre movies that were underrated at the time of their release and that have remained undiscovered since. Some of these movies, like the 2009 Jennifer's body, have undergone a critical reassessment and are now considered to be adorable cult films. The others have also developed cults, of one size or another, but are still waiting for the large-scale love they deserve.Jennifer's body (2009)The critical indifference to this high school horror comedy was disconcerting. (He scored 44% rotten on Rotten Tomatoes.) Diablo Cody's script - a marvel of sexy sarcasm - was the sequel to his first script for the 2007 hit Juno (whose director, Jason Reitman, is one of the producers here). And the star, Megan Fox, of the mega-budget transformers franchise, delivered a luscious parody of its own image of sexual puppet. Fox plays incumbent Jennifer, a snooty cheerleader who falls into the clutches of an independent group called Low Shoulder, whose members are desperate to make it big and have decided to sacrifice a virgin in order to enlist Satan as their manager. Unfortunately, since Jennifer is not virgin in every sense of the word, the group's ritual attempt goes awry badly and a newly launched demonic Jennifer is soon embarked on a bloody rampage. Amanda Seyfried effectively cuts her own movie star look to play Needy, Jennifer’s geek friend, and Chris Pratt, Amy Sedaris and J.K. Simmons is also on site. (Now streaming on Amazon, YouTube, iTunes, etc.)Surveillance (2008)Going back after one of the most hated beginnings in recent film history: the oddity of amputation in 1993 Helena Boxing- director Jennifer Lynch (daughter of David) directed this really scary serial killer feature. Bill Pullman and Julia Ormond play a pair of FBI agents lured to a slaughter site in Nebraska's hinterland, where they interact with bent cops and young drug addicts and search in vain for reliable witnesses. (There is one, but she is 11 years old, and who wants to hear what a child has to say?) The film has a dark and sunny atmosphere and a most disturbing conclusion. He scored a lame 55% on Rotten Tomatoes and has yet to attract many second looks. It is never too late, however. (Now streaming on Amazon and Netflix)Fountain (2006)Some - well, many - Darren Aronofsky's masterpiece, which made time stumble, was a pretentious romance. But it is a film of spectacular beauty which has constantly accumulated new admirers. Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz play Tom and Isabel, a couple whose love never dies. In 16th century Spain, she is a queen who sends her on a mission to the New World to find the Mayan tree of life. 500 years later - now - he is a scientific researcher looking for a cure for cancer that kills Isabel, who in this incarnation is his wife. He learns of the existence of an ancient tree in Central America whose bark could be the remedy he seeks. In the year 2600 AD, we find Tom ascending through the heavens in a transparent bubble boat containing a large tree. The glorious effects of space in this film are large explosions of microscopic chemical reactions (the work of optical systems developer Peter Parks) and the magnificent score by Clint Mansell could become a permanent part of your life. (Streaming on Amazon, YouTube and Vudu)The midnight meat train (2008)Critics liked this horrible horror movie a little more than the audience, perhaps because Lionsgate emptied the image unofficially in second-run cinemas and few people could see it. Bradley Cooper is a stormy photojournalist named Leon, who tells of the inhabitants of the night in an unspecified big city (it's L.A.). He becomes aware of a mysterious subway train that does not operate until midnight, and naturally he wants to know more. It's an idea as bad as you imagine. Terribly horrible things hit the passengers on this train, all distributed by a brute swinging with a mallet called Mahagony (the naturally terrifying Vinnie Jones). Bloody violence is not lacking (the film is based on a story by Clive Barker), but the Japanese director, Ryuhei Kitamura, really excels in creating tension and fear, and also in the editing oh-my-God. (Streaming on Netflix and Amazon)The brothers are blooming (2008)This second feature by Knives out Director Rian Johnson is an eccentric fairy tale with boundless charm. A pair of conmen brothers (Adrien Brody and Mark Ruffalo) make the mistake of trying to defraud a wacky heiress (Rachel Weisz), who counts among his hobbies kung fu, power ping pong and chainsaw juggling (on stilts), and who would love to become a scammer herself. The image is floating all over central Europe, but even with the brothers bringing in an expert in daffy explosives called Bang Bang (Rinko Kikuchi), we feel that the big ass they planned in Prague will not work well. They should have felt something wrong when their brand observed: "The trick to not being cheated is to learn to cheat." (Streaming on Amazon and Vudu)Black dynamite (2009)A wonderfully crazy tribute to the blax exploitation films of the 70s. Michael Jai White is perfect as a holder of Black Dynamite, a CIA agent returning from Vietnam who intends to put an end to some bad villains who are channeling the heroine in the ghetto. There's also a disturbing new brand of malt liquor that has hit the streets, a range of pimps and slippers and vintage purple clothing, martial arts and very low-cost car chases, and a ridiculous crime lord. called Fiendish Dr. Wu. There are also a lot of nice lines (delimiting the comic strip luxury pad, a character says, "You must have an eight track in each room"). Director Scott Sanders made this film in three weeks (and then turned it into an animated series on Adult Swim). He should work much more than he does. (Streaming on Amazon, Netflix and Vudu)Hancock (2008)Released at the dawn of the age of the cinematographic superhero (the same year Iron Man inaugurated the MCU), Hancock seemed to confuse the critics with his relatively subtle combination of understated humor and real emotion. Despite the presence of Will Smith and Charlize Theron, the film bombed. It deserves another chance. Smith plays a super guy called John Hancock, who has the usual powers of flight, strength and immortality. John does a lot of good in the world, but he also causes a lot of collateral property damage, for which he is very unhappy. So he became an alcoholic living on the streets of LA. An admiring PR man named Ray (Jason Bateman) tries to help him and does so; but then John meets Ray's wife (Charlize Theron), and the film suddenly takes a wild and unexpected turn. It is definitely worth a try. (Streaming on Amazon, Netflix and Vudu)The fall (2006)Although he already made a feature film in 2000, the horribly distinctive sci-fi horror film The cell- Indian director Tarsem Singh continued to win most of his live commercials. He brilliantly decided to use the globetrotter required by this profession to make another film, at his leisure. This resulted, after four years, in The fall, an extremely outrageous and amazingly beautiful fantasy film shot in Cambodia, Italy, Indonesia, Bolivia and China, among other remote locations. It is a film about the stories and their stories and the heroes they need; but it is essentially a vast sea of surreal images in which the spectators are invited to plunge their heads. There is really nothing else like it. (Streaming on Netflix and Amazon)High sky (2005)Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano) is a teenager living in the shadow of his superhero parents. His father, Steve (Kurt Russell), is a successful real estate guy best known in super circles like The Commander; his mother, Josie (Kelly Preston), is the famous supersonic Jetstream. Will does not seem to have his own powers, so he is afraid of entering Grade 9 at Sky High, where the descendants of superheroes are classified into two categories: some will become superheroes themselves, others - the losers of the super-lottery of life - will make him become acolytes. It's a Disney film, so family oriented, but also witty and trendy (thanks mainly to Russell, a Disney veteran who made his first film for the company in 1968). Mary Elizabeth Winstead plays the villain Royal Pain and the principal of Sky High is, wonderfully, Lynda Carter. (Streaming on Amazon and Vudu)Where the truth lies (2005)Originally released with an NC-17 rating due to its unusually frank sex scenes, this finely blackish film by writer-director Atom Egoyan is a puzzle-thriller that deserves more attention than it has ever received. . It focuses on Lanny Morris (Kevin Bacon) and Vince Collins (Colin Firth), a famous comedy duo (think of Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis) who suddenly broke up in 1957, without any explanation, after the discovery of the body of a woman who died in Miami in the tub of their New Jersey hotel suite. Years later, a young journalist named Karen O'Connor (Alison Lohman) agrees to work with Vince as a negro on her autobiography, hoping to get to the bottom of the mystery of the breakup. Then she meets Lanny, and things get very, very complicated. The film has a wonderful retro perverse air, and Bacon and Firth are downright disreputable as they had never been before.
