Essokinesis, also known as Ontokinesis and Realtiokinesis is the ability to manipulate reality. As simple as it sounds on the tin, it seems to work differently for each Esso?? Which is soo not a vibe ;-;

Makes it super hard to figure out what you're doing and all. For me, I have to close my eyes and think about what I want to happen, like I'm making a wish? I first discovered it when I was six or seven. I wanted it to snow so I wouldn't have to go to school.

My mum was soo mad at me, but I didn't have to go to school so- who really won? /j

As an Essokinetic, I always have to be super aware of my thoughts, which suuucks. Still it's pretty cool!

Technically, you could also say I have mentifery, but I prefer Essokinesis for myself personally!! Since it's a little more than I explained?

             - Size Manipulation: Likely as another form of her shapeshifting, Yn can change the size of her body to that of a giant, although she has only been shown using this ability once.

             - Mind Control: Yn can use hypnotism to control other demons. Hypnotism is done primarily via eye contact.

             - Vast Dark Magic: Yn is shown to use dark magic, such as conjuring an ice cream, turning it into a monster, or restoring a broken precious egg.

             - Shadow/Darkness Manipulation: Yn can create, shape and manipulate darkness and shadows. Darkness is mostly used to cloud everything into total darkness, but can also be channeled to a variety of effects, both as an absence of light and a solid substance. Yn can also control and manipulate the beings that exist there, create and dispel shields and areas of total darkness, create constructs and weapons, teleport one's self through massive distances via shadows, etc.

2. What's something about your OC that people wouldn't expect just from looking at them?

Kelsey looks like your typical preteen trying to be emo and edgy. In reality, though she has a lot of Angst and Baggage, she's very sweet and gentle. She takes care of her much younger cousins, she cares deeply about her friends, and she's very loyal. She's pretty shy, shutting down if there's too many new people. She has an inner sarcastic monologue even if she rarely says it out loud.

7. What's one way your OC has changed since you first came up with them?

More than one thing. I will share them all.

Kelsey's original incarnation was named Nellie. Nellie was eight years old, had shoulder-length light blonde hair, and thick purple glasses. She has no edgy tendencies and her powers were just flying.

After aging her up to eleven and changing her name to Kelsey, I also chopped her hair and gave her round black glasses. The emo look came in Draft Four, and recently I've decided cheap black hair dye will be fun, though she's still a natural blonde.

In terms of personality, "Nellie" did not have much of one. Kelsey was a little sassier and bolder at first but her shy and gentle demeanor did overtake that side of her eventually. Her narration has always been a little sassy toward people that don't make much sense to her, but a lot of it is internalized. She also has a tendency to be passive aggressive.

Nellie originally had flight, but in Draft Two I gave her force fields. In Draft Three, Kelsey was given what I vaguely defined as "magic," but in Draft Four I decided it was a form of reality warping, aka essokinesis.

23. What emotion is the hardest for your OC to process? How about express?

Kelsey struggles to process her own sadness. She tries to ignore it for as long as possible, and generally just gets overwhelmed whenever she feels it. Kelsey wants to be strong. She puts on the emo façade, but in reality, the true nature of her depression is something she can't process is actually happening.

Kelsey has difficulty expressing resentment. Despite the shit that people pull on her, she doesn't hate them as much as she should. Her disgust, anger, and disappointment in others lingers, but she shoves it down. Her powers usually get out of control the more she feels these emotions, and they take control when it comes to expressing resentment toward others.

This was more difficult than I thought lol

Okay, after reading your response to my ask (which was very helpful btw, so thank you so much for that ♡ I WILL stop overconsuming🫣) I couldn't help but wonder about something. So ofc, manifesting magical powers is possible too, so I'm wondering if manifestation would be made much...idk easier if a person were to just manifest a superpower like Essokinesis (the ability to control reality... like, Idk the Scarlet Witch with her chaos magic or something idk anything about her besides that lol) which SOUNDS REDUNDANT I KNOW. But it just seems like having that power would help you change anything, be it you/your 3d right before your very eyes, WITHOUT having to saturate your mind at all. AND I'M NOT ssaying this 'cause I'm lazy to put in the effort or anything, I'm just wondering if manifesting a power like this makes sense, so you can get whatever else you want from that point on🤷 I'm honestly surprised I've never seen anyone talk about doing this before.

Haha honestly this may be a controversial belief (idek why) but considering anything is possible i agree and believe it is possible to manifest powers. That being said, (this gonna make me sound so boring) i personally don’t really feel like having powers, so i can’t say i have given this much thought.

If you are at the point that you wanted to and feel capable of manifesting magical powers just to help you manifest and revise, i personally feel like you could also just put that belief into your manifestations being instant cause then you’ll also see the 3D change instantly/ in front of your eyes (it not entirely the same way though, idk depends on the person and the manifestation.)

Like honestly it is just what you prefer, and if it’s an avenue you feel like going down, go ahead!

I do want to point out that the more you manifest the less you have to saturate your mind because you get used to desiring, deciding and receiving, so if that’s what puts you off, manifesting doesn’t have to be hard work at all. I also really enjoy the process of saturating my mind so i am quite biased.

Ugh the topic we had here originally and had problems with is actual reality shifting, then some ppl came and started talking about shifting&moving states (all those states and whatever are so unnecessary btw), which is very vague but sounds like just changing your mindset, or something? Either way nothing stops me from believing that manifesting is just essokinesis, which is pretty much a loa/manifesting/revision package but without the unnecessary stuff like shifting, or states or moving states or other stuff

Sorry about breaking the sky

An apology to anyone in NYC, I did not mean to fill the sky with chinchillas. I am deeply sorry about any disruptions I caused.

A small town in northern Maine is buzzing with excitement after a local skunk was recently discovered to have extraordinary powers.

The skunk, which has been named Essokinesis by local scientists, was first spotted by a group of hikers who thought it was just a normal skunk. However, when they tried to shoo it away, they were astonished to see it lift itself up in the air and hover several feet above the ground.

After this discovery, scientists from nearby universities quickly flocked to the area to study the skunk. After a series of tests, they determined that Essokinesis had the power of psychokinesis, a power that allows it to manipulate objects with its mind.

Using its powers, Essokinesis has been able to move objects as small as a pebble and as large as a boulder. Scientists are hopeful that this skunk could be the key to unlocking the secrets of psychokinesis and could possibly lead to advances in the field of science.

Sapiens always want to know what the most "powerful", hardcore mutations are. It's like, one of the top three questions I get on a daily basis (the other two are "are u contagious" and "do u know magneto omg"). I'm defining "powerful" here as "able to do things that shift the very fundamentals of our universe and/or have very few limitations". This list overlaps quite a bit with the most rare mutations, which is why most people think of one or two key figures when these mutations are mentioned. So without further ado, here is one mutobiologist student's top ten most powerful mutations (in no particular order)

Vocifery. The first three on this list are all related to the same general effect: reality manipulation. Vocifery is defined as the ability to control, change, or warp reality through speech. Mentifery. Often considered "true" essokinesis (reality manipulation), mentifery is the ability to control, change, or warp reality through thought alone. General thoughts are not often manifested (like thinking, I wish you would go away), unless the user is in considerable duress. Usually thoughts need to be actively focused on in order to manifest. Unlike vocifery, they do not always need to be phrased as commands. Legion is the only known mutant to have fully manifested this mutation.

Essokinesis. The umbrella term for all reality manipulation. Mutants with this power who don't have vocifery or mentifery warp reality through movement, drawing, or a combination of actions. While the Scarlet Witch has demonstrated both vocifery and mentifery, she is most known for her skill at general essokinesis.

Atomkinesis. Anyone ever heard of The Phoenix Force? Yup, classic example of atomkinesis. Essentially telekinesis at its most extreme, those with this mutation are able to move atoms with their minds.

Gravikinesis. Pretty much exactly what it sounds like, gravikinesis is the control and manipulation of gravity. A milder manifestation of this mutation is flight which is fairly common, to the more extreme manifestation of being able to create a black hole. Xorn, whose gravikinesis transformed his head into a miniature star, is the most studied example of this mutation.

Electromagnekinesis. No, I'm not just putting it on the list because it's my mutation! Electromagnekinesis can come in two forms: control over the electromagnetic spectrum of light, and control over the same spectrum combined with magnekinesis. Because the range of control is so broad and includes some of the fundamental forces of existence, there is potentially no limit to this power.

Chronokinesis. Unlike its counterparts, chronoportation and precognition, chronokinesis is the manipulation of time itself. The most common manifestation of this mutation is Time Bubbles, pockets of space where time is slowed. When the comic book character Superman reverses time by flying around the planet, that is also chronokinesis. Some speculation exists as to whether super speed is really a form of chronokinesis, based on mutants' descriptions of how they perceive the passing of time. There is no record case of fully manifested chronokinesis to date.

Telepathy (certain forms). Telepathy, while treated as a singular power, is actually more of an umbrella term for a wide variety of mind-based mutations. The two most potent are the ability to stop the movement and thoughts of others, mimicking time control, and puppet mastery, which is the control of another’s mind to the point where the telepath can make them do or say whatever they desire. Charles Xavier is a master at both variations, though he rarely uses the latter.

Mutatikinesis. One could say this is the mastery of the very essence of mutation. It is the ability to manifest any mutation or adaptation. Though mutants with this ability cannot control which mutation will manifest or when, it seems to be directly tied to the amygdala's fight or flight response. Therefore, the body will mutate however it is needed to deal with a stressor. Darwin is the best known example of this incredible power.

Power Mimicry. Power Mimicry is highly variable in how it presents, from life force absorption to mimnipotentikinesis. Some people can only hold one power at a time, some cause physical damage to those whose powers they adopt, and some can only hold a power for a limited amount of time. However, as is the case with Rachel Grey, not only can some mutants with this ability permanently hold an unlimited amount of powers without damage to the original mutant, they can also have immediate mastery of that power. Such cases are rare, but they make power mimicry one of the most powerful mutations we know of.

Essokinesis in media like: Avengers Disassembled, House of M, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is easy to understand, but Wanda/Vision... Smh. The people of Westview were either victims of her mind stone-granted telepathy/psionics or a powerful mind control spell born of her chaos magic. The "rewriting" of objects could be attributed to a complex transmutation spell. I'm not saying there is no reality warping in it, of course there is. The black & white, the display resolution, the passage of time. But the people of Westview still having some level of awareness... MCU!Agatha chose to demonstrate transmutation and mind control to Wendy and described the creation of the Hex as multiple spells being cast at the same time. Magic on autopilot.

Actual answer now: I believe reality warping is related to science in the sense that it’s connected to space and time. For instance, when Gamora stole the Infinity Stones and created the Infinity Warps. There was no magic involved.

But there is the possibility that this warping is also connected to magic, in the sense that you’re able to manipulate and reshape it through the mystic energies (Wiccan and Scarlet Witch are the best examples I can think of). To some degree, I believe that transmutation is actually warping reality with a little touch of magic.

Still, not all magic is considered warping reality because you’re merely drawing the power from entities or tapping into energies that ignore natural laws. It’s not like you “cheat” and change reality, as many scientists in the Marvel universe believe it to be. It’s an entire new field that is based on mystic energy. When you’re astral projecting, you’re not warping reality. You’re merely manifesting your soul beyond your body.

Of course, this is purely my opinion. I could be totally wrong. That’s just how I tell them apart.
