If a uranium reactor of this kind had now at last been produced in Chicago, after the American atomic project had got off to such a slow start, it must also have long since been constructed somewhere in Germany, the Allied nuclear physicists believed.

The scientific head of the Alsos mission explained the secret maintained about the place of internment:
All this hush-hush was necessitated by our original assumption that the Germans had the atom bomb or must be close to its secret. As it turned out, they knew practically nothing of significance. But by tracking them down and making such a thorough investigation we might have shown our hand. Actually, the German scientists were sure of their own superiority. It never occurred to them that we might have succeeded where they had failed. But our military security experts could not be sure of this. They could not be sure that if these men were set free the supposition that we might have a gigantic uranium project would become a matter of common knowledge everywhere. The risk was too great. The only thing to do was to segregate the men and keep their colleagues and the rest of the world guessing.

There was a bugged quest in the Emerald Dream that wouldn’t let undead players continue because one of the NPCs was super racist to them, and as an undead warlock main I find that hilarious.
That's absolutely fucking hilarious.

In the second place Oppenheimer knew from personal experience – the degrading interviews forced upon him in 1943 – that the germ of atomic rivalry between the two great powers, the United States and the Soviet Union, then still allies, already existed.

Hey stop here and read for a second. Broccoli guy (Skylanders Academy), Elfo (Disenchantment), Mookey (Atomic Puppet), Throk (Race To The Edge), Cosmo (Fairy Odd Parents), Luis (Ant Man, also the voice they use for Carlos Peña often), Captain Man (Henry Danger), Tobias (TAWOG), IT, Ben Tennyson (Ben 10) and Kai Smith (Ninjago) all have the SAME goddamn voice actor
Like seriously man I knew Latin dub repeated a lot of actors, but this is like not even half of all his characters
