i have a question about your next gen au: do kids in the au get along well togheter or is there some sibling rivarly involved?

The dynamics are mixed between them.

Auburn and Camellia tend to argue more often than average, they are rivals to an extend. Bene seems to be the most compatible with everyone, but they get bored quickly. Duran is the most neutral in the party (kinda like Sunny/Omori), but his relationship with Camellia is closer than with everyone else. Cami gets along well with everyone that's willing to join her, but her leading personality often clashes with Auby's bossyness.

They all would die for each other if it came to it tho.

Hero's death :

Hero noticed that,recently,Sunny and Mari would never hang out with the friend group,because they were practicing for the recital. Hero grew worried for Sunny,as he sometimes vented to Hero about how he hated playing the violin. During one of Mari's rare visits to Hero and Kel's house, Hero confronted Mari about that,and they started arguing,in a fit of rage,Mari pushed Hero,forgetting that he was on the very edge of the staircase. Kel had just returned from a hang-out with Basil and Aubrey,and saw his brother unconcious,and Mari staring in shock. He ran to try and feel a pulse,but there was none. Mari,completely shocked from what she did,said that they needed to stage Hero's death. Kel was heavily against this idea. Mari screamed at him to help her,and said that both her and him would to to jail if he didn't help her. Kel,obviously not wanting to go to jail,hesitantly agreed. They then proceeded to frame Hero's death as a suicide,more specifically,as if he hanged himself.

SOME FACTS ABOUT MY AU :

-With Hero's death,Kel tried to imitate Hero's personality,however,it became his current personality soon.

-Kel is a year older then Aubrey,Sunny and Basil.(not really a fact,because it's canon)

-The only one that remembered Kel's (14th) birthday was Aubrey.

-Instead of Sunny pushing Kel in the lake,Kel pushed Sunny in the lake,as he finally snapped at Sunny.

-Instead of locking himself in his room,Kel hangs out/spends time with the group.

-Aubrey has a better home life,in this AU,her parents are divorced,and she lives with her dad.

-kel,auby and mari are a trio (they still are best friends with sunny and basil,its just that the three are a bit closer to eachother)

-auby made bunny themed cupcakes for kel's 14th birthday

how i feel about this character

this is so evil of this to be a question. if i could cremate my heart id do that and thats how much i love aubrey ok. i am sick… she is so misunderstood. nobody gets it. like oh my god. she’s perfect. also she’s a lesbian. and she has bpd. and she’s better than you. and she’s actually a really kind person beneath her mean girl front so it doesn’t make sense when people dumb her down to an insensitive, cruel person… she’s not that at all!!! she’s genuinely kind and wants peace! she wouldn’t just be angry and cruel??

kim and honestly i’m a heavy monoshipper on that… genuinely don’t think omori’s a game for shipping whatsoever EXCEPT for kim and aubrey because that’s the only one that really makes sense? like of course aubrey would wanna date somebody… and kim’s her best friend and the only one she really Trusts like that… it just makes sense 😭 however for sunny and basil they’re not in the proper mental space for that and then like. kel’s gay idk and who’s he gonna date if not sunny 💀 who. isn’t ready to date. and also kim just seems to understand aubrey in a way that is meaningful to a girl who has been abandoned and abused/neglected her whole life!!! and of course that’d turn into something more. it’s real to me

my non-romantic otp for this character

MARI. even when mari dies she’s still there for aubrey, much better than everyone else tried to be, and aubrey loves her so much and still makes time to see her… it’s just a really sweet gesture to me and shows how much she really misses mari and valued her friendship while mari was alive you know! like fawk. that was her older sister figure!!! aubrey didn’t really have a family growing up so mari was able to be that for her and it made it so special and 🥹 augh. best friends. i can’t talk about them for too long without getting emotional… but they were best friends. they’ll always be best friends even though mari will forever be 15 and aubrey will keep growing up 💔 mari’s still her best friend

my unpopular opinion about this character

was she a bully to basil? YES. i won’t deny that. but is she a bad person, or even really a mean person? fuck no! and i DO excuse her bullying basil!!! what she was mad about he didn’t do but when you really think about it he’s kind of terrible 😭 yes maybe he was 12 but when i was 12 i didn’t think hey lemme fake this girl’s suicide instead of calling for help… and then he proceeded to keep it a secret + have sunny keep it a secret too and like😭😭😭 it’s all basil’s fault dude it’s crazy… id bully him too bye. also aubrey apologized as best she could for the later stuff, people always talk about forgiving basil for his arguably more shitty actions than being a high school bully but they’re so quick to condemn aubrey for ?? mishandling the pain she’s been battling her whole life (that basil made 10x worse mind you)… and you want me to forgive basil and defend him from her… get serious like she’s 16 hdhfhdhdj this isn’t even everything i could say but i need to CALM DOWN

Maybe I’m bad at explaining, but in my eyes my au characters are all pretty shitty people beside kel

Especially mari and hero, but then I got the I demonizes my characters, tbh I don’t know how you put this word, if your saying my character murder is demonic, sure. But I personally think other than that they just doing what living people do. I really like how I did to mari but sadly she is a tricky character to write because she is dead in the og. Would explain she is very arrogant and inconsiderate in this au if we are looking at sunny pov( but sadly sunny think is just he is not good enough). And I like that imperfect characterization . ( I did add a twists? Of mari dead is not simply sunny doing ) I made her like this because I want to parallel with hero, where hero will finally realize how cruel he was with kel( basically enhanced many characters small flaw from the og? Bc in og hero is pretty well mannered )

Also note- auby felt too smart in this and it bother me, yes, she still hot head and stubborn, but playing small mind game with hero mmmm ,currently justify with she has more life experience and hero is more academic smart

-Changing Aubrey Basil relationship, not really change but I add more, turn into quite scary dynamic (?, I think it fits her character and her backstory why she acts like this towards basil but mmmm

-Mari did get memory lost due to lack of oxygen getting to the brain , but for how long

How did you decide on the names and personalities of the kids in the next gen AU?

Auburn and Bene were at first supposed to be named after Aym and Baal, and then I realised that I kinda messed up, but it's fine. I decided to look through some old names that start with A and B and picked the ones that I liked the most, props if their meaning fits them

When I was reading Auburn's name meaning back when I was picking it, it meant something like "fair" in latin, but when I'm looking it up now, it means "moderate or reddish brown" which is troubling. Bene's was short from Benedict and it meant "blessed" when I was looking it up

Camellia's name came from the flowers, cause she's a girl, hurpteedoo. But also because in game the flowers have healing properties and back then I thought that she would be a healer. She's not really a healer specifically anymore, Bene fits that description more.

And for Duran I also just kinda picked up a name from the internet and because I started to notice the pattern (A, B, C, D) it had to start with a D. I'm not sure if the meaning was the same back then, but as I'm looking it up "Duran" means in Latin sth like "firm, enduring" which is very fitting considering how much of a resilient gremlin he is.

The personalities came some time after, I always saw Auby as someone like in that one "I'm a brave boy" meme, Bene was always a bit of an airhead for me, Cami was the sweet summer child and Duran was the gremlin. Though only recently I had the displeasure of narrowing them down. It's all fun and games until you gotta make your ocs consistent. <:3

But like yeah, most of it came to me naturally, based on how I see them act in my head.
