I've been ranking magical schools to see which is the best school.
Criteria for the ranking:
Do the teachers care about the students?
Are there any evil teachers (if yes, immediate loss of points)?
Are the students prepared for the world that they live in? Do they have experience before they get on adventures, do the classes teach them how to be heroes, or is there a solid job market and the school teaches them how to succeed and follow the rules of the world
Is the school safe? Are there precautions in place to protect the students?
How many students die each year?
What I don't look at:
Diversity of the school. The school can teach a certain type of magic and only allow in certain people and not lose points.
Meddling students. If the students go off on their own and meddle, and then they get hurt, the school does not lose points for that.
Does not looking at the moral quality of what they are learning, if they are taught how to survive in the world, even if the school is a morally corrupt world the school will be ranking high for what it is expected to do within the society.
My Ranking:
The Magic School Bus
Scholomance
Assassination Classroom
Royal Prep Academy from Sofia the First
My Hero Academia
Hexside: The Owl House
Augfort Adventuring Academy
Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters X-Man School
Jean Gray Institute for Higher Learning
Ninth House
Winx School
Shiz University from Wicked
Unicorn Academy
Wiztech from wizards of Waverly Place
The School for Good and Evil
Every Heart a Doorway
Hogwarts
Gowpenny Academy of Arcane Arts
Forth Wing War College
Camp Half Blood
JJK
Massachusetts Bay Academy from X-Men

Be honest, would you read Fantasy High fanfiction set at Augfort Adventuring Academy that's mostly canon compliant....... But about a completely original party of characters?
More information about the Let-Downs under the Read More
The Let Downs (or The Disappointments)
A gnelf (half gnome/half elf) wizard boy who refuses to cast spells that aren't rituals, despite being the son of two combat mages.
a history-obsessed, autistic dwarf girl who is upset that her Samurai fighter classes don't focus on historical weapons and don't appreciate her homemade accurate armor
A super friendly Hobgoblin barbarian who cheerfully uses rage as an outlet for his anarcho-communism (yes, he does know the Cubbys)
A first gen Solisian half-gnome/half goblin who is friends with everyone despite the horde of termites and fungus always in her wake as a swarm ranger/spores druid
An ultra wealthy earth Genasi, a literal golden boy....who has the strictest parents, with the highest expectations of this generations holder of the warlock pact, but secretly longs to be a bard
And! The new girl, a recently immigrated from a nameless isolated village in the Baronies, desperate to learn how to control her violent dragon sorcerer powers...only to discover sorc classes at Augfort dont teach anything.
These are the Let-Downs! Classmates of the Bad Kids. Living their own lives in Elmville. Can I interest you in their story?

okay my prediction for fantasy high junior year: they will be presented to take the GED (like the seven did in their campaign) and that is their final grand quest at augfort adventuring academy
