Drabble | Freckles
((Aaaaaand, once again, I'll put up a read more.
By the time Adelheid had healed and dragged herself back the Black Forest she was in no mood to entertain anyone. So when she entered her court, she waved off any and all approaching elves and downright glared at any Court members who crossed her path. Let them think what they wanted at seeing their queen trudge through the halls in such a manner.
She. Didn’t. Care.
The door slammed shut behind her as she entered her chambers, feeling a bout of violence rising up inside her. She strode into her bedroom, took the nearest piece of furniture she could find—a rather lovely little chair—and threw it against the opposite wall.
She couldn’t tell if it made her feel better or angrier.
“Did you really just break a chair?”
Adelheid whirled around and found Aislinn lying on her bed, reading a book. The leanan sidhe was the picture of casualness, stretched out languidly. On any other occasion Adelheid might have found the sight inviting, but today it made her eyes narrow. Aislinn had a knack for showing up exactly when she wasn’t wanted.
Incidentally, that was usually exactly where Aislinn wanted to be.
In a show of ignoring her, Adelheid left her bedroom for her dressing room. All the elf wanted at that moment was to be left alone for awhile. She’d had quite enough company for the last few hours to last her for a very long time, thank you very much. She wished she could tell Aislinn to just go away, but that would just encourage her.
“You look like someone hooked you with a fishing line and dragged you through the ocean,” the leanan sidhe commented blithely.
Adelheid growled and peeled her ruined shirt from her torso. She was muddy, bloody, and somehow still wet. When she caught sight of herself in a floor-length vanity mirror her growl turned to a groan and she rubbed her hand across her face in frustration. Really, how stupid could she be?
“A lake, actually,” the elf grumbled, finishing undressing and pulling on a soft, worn tunic. “Look, Aislinn, I’m tired and I really don’t feel like being poked and prodded, so if you don’t mind-”
Adelheid paused when she felt hands pressed against her back. “What happened, love? Get in a fight you couldn’t talk your way out of?” Aislinn asked, her thumbs pressing into the elf’s shoulder blades.
The Erlkonigin shook her off, discomfited with how easily Aislinn could read her and guess what had happened. Most days she was relatively unaffected by the leanan sidhe’s uncanny talent for knowing exactly what she was thinking, but today was not one of those days. She’d rather had enough of that from the Each Uisge.
“My goodness, you’re feeling ornery, aren’t you?” Aislinn exclaimed as Adelheid brushed past her to back through her bedroom to her personal armory. “What exactly happened to you?”
Adelheid wasn’t going to answer, she really wasn’t. But when she entered the armory, she remembered she had nothing to put in it. She hadn’t bothered to bring her bow with her and she was missing her dagger and hunting knife.
That wretch had stolen them, after all.
“I was out hunting and, mistakenly, entered another fae’s territory,” she began, knowing Aislinn had followed her in. “It was rather stupid of me, to be fair, but he reacted poorly.”
“Who’d you piss off?”
Adelheid sighed, running a hand through her hair. “The Each Uisge.”
Aislinn’s eyes widened comically before the laughing started. “You dragged a human into the territory of the Each Uisge? Well done, Adelheid.”
“Mistakenly!” she retorted despairingly. “And then I was stuck there in his home for far longer than I would have liked.”
“Oh, you were in his home? You do realize what the Each Uisge does to people in his home, correct? Oh, please do tell,” Aislinn said, still laughing.
Adelheid spluttered for another moment before she decided to go back to her bedroom. At least if she started throwing things in there the chances of them being sharp were diminished.
“Ah-ah, you’re not going to get away that easily. Come on, what exactly happened?” the blonde asked as she gave chase.
Adelheid stopped and shivered, remembering the pain of both resisting and obeying the compulsions. She wasn’t in the business of feeling so helpless and Augus’ blatant advantage over her had left the elf feeling less than secure.
“Adelheid,” Aislinn said from directly behind her, her voice only a touch more serious.
Adelheid sighed roughly. “I thought, because of the forest, I might be immune to compulsions,” she said weakly. “It turns out I am most certainly not.”
She expected Aislinn to push more, but to her surprise she did not. In fact, there was complete silence behind her. Adelheid began to turn, to rectify any misconceptions that Aislinn might be forming, when she was pushed forward suddenly.
Adelheid landed on her bed face first, too surprised to catch herself. She bounced once before a weight settled on her lower back and prevented her from moving. She lay there for a long moment before relaxing into the bed more. If she truly wanted to, she could get out from under the leanan sidhe.
“Aislinn,” Adelheid said, her words muffled by the pillow, “I am not a horse.”
“Oh, and I’m sure you know quite a bit about riding horses, don’t you?”
Adelheid sat up so suddenly that Aislinn fell from atop her and onto the floor. The loud thud didn’t drown out her shriek of indignation or the leanan sidhe’s peals of laughter. She rounded furiously on Aislinn, but was stopped mid-rage by a sound kiss. Adelheid blinked, all thoughts of killing leanan sidhe and waterhorses slipping from her mind for just a second.
“I’m sorry,” Aislinn offered, not looking the least bit sorry, “you’ve had a scare and you’re feeling a bit insecure. Perhaps I should be a little kinder to you?”
The elf opened her mouth to respond but quickly shut it as Aislinn scrambled back onto the bed and straddled her waist.
“Well then, should I help you recover from your wounds?”
Adelheid sighed and looked up wearily at Aislinn. “I’m afraid you’re a little late for that.”
“Ah, but that wound to your pride is going to fester if you don’t treat it soon, love. And, as you know, I'm always willing to help out a friend."
The elf’s mouth twisted before she sighed, deciding that perhaps Aislinn was right. Some company might keep her from getting to melancholy about the day’s events and she had been missing the leanan sidhe's presence.
“Do what you want then,” Adelheid relented, shifting underneath Aislinn to get more comfortable.
Aislinn laughed. “Quite gracious of you, your majesty.” She leaned down, pressing her lips against Adelheid’s neck just below her ear. “Now, it just so happens that I have met many a person with a wounded pride. And as such, I think I know exactly how to cure what ails you,” she said, hand creeping down Adelheid’s torso.
Adelheid closed her eyes, not particularly wanting to look at Aislinn’s face, lovely though it was.
She’d had quite enough of freckles for one day.

augus-each-uisge replied to your post:idk if you've already answered this but- In a 1 on 1 death match who would win, Gwyn or Albion? both as king status of course. Would either one of them have been able to take on the Nightingale head on with their powers and at least held their own for a while? In terms of power how powerful was the Nightingale actually? like if Gwyn, Makara, Nain Rouge, Albion and Augus tried to bring him down (w/powers) would he have just been like "lol, pwned. Nice try bitches. And by nice, I mean pathetic'
So does that mean the Nightingale is immortal?? Or will he like… die eventually like every other fae, in time?
It's technically not something I can answer, because it could be spoilery for some major plot stuff down the track. But I'm not done with the Nightingale - any villain that is trapped can always return - especially if he's done it before.

Tagged!
ooooh, Hamnskiftare tagged me! Thank youuu! I think this is the first Time I have done this.
Rule 1: Post the rules.
Rules 2: Answer the questions the tagger has set you in their posts, then make 10 new ones.
Rule 3: Tag people and link them to your post.
Rule 4: Let them know you’ve tagged them.
What has been your favorite colors throughout the years? I am a purple and black kinda girl. Amusingly most of what I wear is blue or red ( still a fair bit of black though. shorts and pants though for that.) Purple is not always the easiest color to find. What fandom(s) are you currently into? Fae tales (just finished reading this weeks chapter of strange sights); Vampire knight; Star wars (which is also one of my oldest fandoms); A song of Ice and Fire (which I will be reading on the plane tomorrow) What animes are you watching this season? (If you don’t watch anime, what shows do you currently follow?) Not watching any animes right now sadly (though I prefer manga anyways): I watch Hannibal devoutly and I often watch cop/drama shows with my mother but other than that I am not much a tv person. What is the one dish you can cook that you are the most proud of? I can make fancy truffles.  But seriously they are awesome; some of the fae tales gang will get to trying them in a couple weeks; which is going to be awesome for many reasons. What is your biggest fear? That I’ll kill myself- mind you, I do not think I am likely to, it is jusrt that the idea that I would kill myself is terrifying. How do you think you will die? something stupid and common- like a car crash or falling off something. I really can not imagine myself dying of old age/natural causes What was your favourite music artist when you were young? define young, I am still only 19- but when I was a kid I really like Brittney Spears and Amy Grant; still not apposed to Spears, less into Grant though Why is your OTP your OTP? Explain to an outsider. Stucky (Steve Rodgers/ Bucky Barnes ) 1. I like shipping best friends; 2. In tws Natasha is trying to set Steve up with various people and he responds that most people don’t have many shared life experiences with him (and you better believe Bucky does) 3. The man’s whose fighting style is basically “no you move” will NOT FIGHT Bucky. 4. When he meets Peggy Bucky looks like someone who just saw that the love of his life was in love with someone else. 5. Steve’s attempted suicide after Bucky falls off the train in tfa. 6. So many other things. Recommend me a movie I should watch. Captain America: The Winter Solider; The Boy in The Striped Pajamas; The Little Princess; The Prince of Egypt; Treasure Planet. What is the purpose of life? No such thing. Life is a pure accident. On the bright side that means you can create any purpose you want for your life.
  Ok your questions to answer:
Favorite place to eat out?
You have been transformed into a vegetable- which vegetable do you want to be?
If you were a novel give me you back cover summary.
What is that one ship that you just cannot stand (not saying you would ever be rude over it but notp)
Any family naming traditions?
I set your room on fire- which lost object do you kill me over?
Where do you most want to visit?
What person in all of history do you most want to meet? Least want to meet?
Craziest thing you have done not under the influence of any drugs (including caffeine)
Best project you have ever worked on? Are most proud of?
I tag Augus-each-uisge; notsoseelie; buildonsandlikestone; subtletakinitback; frost-spirit-gone-fox

MY MANNERS ARE JUST ABSOLUTELY APPALLING I DARE SAY. TAKE THESE AS A TOKEN OF MY UNDYING LOVE AND FORGIVENESS *THROWS IN UR ASK BOX* ▲☮유
▲ Of the two of you, who is more mature, you or your muse?
I would say Pitch because you know… this dude is older than the earth. BUT then again, he’s also like the biggest dork ever. So I’d say we both have our mature and immature moments.
☮ Is there anything you don’t like about playing this muse?
YES. LET ME COUNT THE THINGS KAY.
1) HE’S SUPPOSED TO BE EVIL NIGHTMARE KING AND EVERYONE EXPECTS THAT BUT I CANT DO EVIL. INSTEAD HE JUST HAS ALL THESE EMOTIONS AND IDENTITY ISSUES. NO PITCH STOP THAT.
2) WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS IT WITH THIS MUSE AND JACK FROST? THE GUY POUNCES ON THEM. EVERY TIME A NEW JACK FOLLOWS ME I LITERALLY HAVE TO HOLD HIM BACK. /LITERALLY/.
3) HE FLIP FLOPS BETWEEN BEING A NEEDY FUCKING DORK AND A CREEPY STALKER AND ITS JUST WEIRD. THERE IS NO INBETWEEN. I NEVER KNOW HOW HE’S GOING TO RESPOND TO SOMETHING UNTIL IT HAPPENS AND THEN I’M LIKE ‘OH WHOOPS SORRY’.
4) DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON DADDY/DAUGHTER STUFF. I’M ALMOST /GLAD/ THAT NO MOTHER NATURES/SERA’S/EMILY JANE’S REALLY TAKE ME SERIOUSLY BECAUSE OW. SO MUCH PAAAAAAIN. ALL THIS MUSE CAUSES IS PAIN TO ME OKAY.
weirdly those are about the same reasons why I like playing this muse.
유 Who was your first muse?
Oh my god. Do you have any idea how long I’ve been roleplaying? Like… about 10 freaking years. There’s been too many muses, including a shit ton of OC’s. Okay, uhmmmmm…. *thinks back*
I’m pretty sure my first real muse was Ryou Bakura from YuGiOh. Because apparently I have a thing for identity issues/multiple personalities and/or shadow related powers. So yes you know. It’s just fun having his dark half sending people to the shadow realm and then Ryou feeling all guilt ridden about it afterwards. Yep.

5: eyelid kiss      augus-each-uisge
The Fir Darrig had to give credit where credit was due. Augus was a through lover.     He could still feel each bite, each scratch, pulse with the beating of his heart. It was worth it though, to be able to watch the Waterhorse’s face screw up with ecstasy. He committed each grunt and groan to memory, holding them close as he was sure they were a rare gift.     His hand reached out, brushing the long locks of damp hair away from the other man’s brow. He smoothed his hand over his cheek, smiling softly as the elder fae shifted in his sleep.      He was so much easier to deal with, in his sleep. There were no defensive walls and harsh words. Just the occasional furrowed brow.                                                               He looked younger, in his sleep.     Carney smiled a bit, leaning in and kissing each eyelid with feather light affection. He only lingered for a few mintues after, drinking up the image of the bare creature, before shifting to get out of bed.       Better to leave on his own then get kicked out when the man awoke from his post-glow slumber.

♀ *ahem* "Has the little elf thing *always* destroyed furniture? Or is this a new development? I do wonder if there was any... issues growing up that would have influenced such a behavior." /Or perhaps she's just violent./
Send me a ♀ and a question and their mother will answer it.
"And what, exactly, is wrong with a little furniture destruction? Better an inanimate object than someone's face... Usually. True, as habit it might be an issue, but as a way to let off steam every once in a while? It seems like a perfectly acceptable thing to me." Sigihild snorted, brow rising archly. "She had a temper, but I don't recall her being particularly violent. Then again, she was quite young... Perhaps she started doing that... after."

augus-each-uisge replied to your post:How good would Augus be at giving massages? With his pressure point knowledge and all.
omg who’s better at le massage, Ash or Augus?
It's a tough call, really. I mean they're both very good at what they do when it comes to touch and sensuality, and they have such a different style. Like Ash is pretty much trained up in trigger point and myofascial release massage, along with lymphatic drainage/relaxation massage. But Augus has his own technical knowledge of anatomy, the body and pressure points, and they're both really attentive and responsive to the person they're touching.
I would say Ash's are a little warmer and affectionate and more likely to lead to sex, and Augus' are probably more technically correct and more likely to lead to actual healing, but that they're both on par for actual quality.

augus-each-uisge replied to your post:Gwyn full on raped Augus and it seems like neither one has gotten over it since they bring it up. Can they even have a relationship born from that? I really want to like Gwyn but I'm uneasy about him since he thought it was okay to rape someone.
Is this why Gwyn is so unable to survive? Because he just *wants* to like… die for his sins? Or is it something else?
Gwyn's survival instincts post his demotion were definitely very affected by his deathwish. He just consistently didn't make very smart decisions; though I think the shock of the demotion alongside being hunted probably compounded his new, heightened fears and predisposed him to that.
But, all his life, Gwyn has been making decisions that put him in the line of fire. On the battle and off of it. His greatest sins - as far as he's concerned, were committed long, long ago. And to his mind, he just keeps adding to them. Gwyn's certainty that he is...not worth living, is so deeply entrenched. So yeah, there's definitely a big 'dying for one's sins' going along with some of Gwyn's deepest issues, unfortunately.

cosplay question.
I want to have four costumes to take with me to Matsuricon come August.
I know I will have Hungary (hetalia), Ash Glashtyn (fae tales), and Yuki Cross (Vampire Knight).
But I am not sure if for my fourth I should do Princess Luna (mlp:fim) or Eva the bat (my fae tales oc.)
I would have to do a lot of work for both of them. so it is not so much a matter of which will take less time to make. But I know I will not be able to get both done by August.
So what do y'all think?

augus-each-uisge said: So likeee… you usually do male OC’s huh :o why’d you shift? Also rly love this c: much intuitive. (I am able to make words. yeus)
((Aaahhh sorry I didn't see this!
Welllllll~like I said I've almost always felt more at ease playing as male characters, so I wanted to shift out of my comfort zone and actually put one of my female ocs in the spotlight. (I've barely rped as a female character, and it was maaaanny moons ago since the last time I did)
In the last fandom I rped in I had a male muse, and the fandom was evenly balanced between females and males so it was pretty easy. When I moved over here (wtf it's like moving out of a house or something??) I was like "EVIL FEMALES ARE FUN AND BA ASS RIGHT? LET'S TRY THIS FFFFFFFF SURE"
So... I'm not sure, I suppose I made a female rp character on a whim hahaa~but alas, it's a little different, and I'm more anxious about this character than I have been with any of my other muses just because I'm not used to it))
