ok i know it was a promo photo (so don't read into it blah blah blah) but im suddenly loving the concept that heaven doesn't have any temporal constraints and so an elevator during the time of uz could very well exist, and then that led to the thought 'well where would the elevator have come out on earth if that's the case' and

Been drawing Clíodhna more lately to try and refine my design for her.
I love adding little lines everywhere. And using multiple markers for one spot of colour. It makes running out of ink less stressful lol. anyways I decided I’d give her my mole. I just for the fun of it. It’s on the other side than mine though lol
The squiggles are so fun wthhhhhh. Started doing them during lectures since they didn’t distract me and created interesting forms. The greatest thing about art school is being encouraged to doodle during lectures lmao.
Aureole Glow is the descendant of Starlight Glimmer and Trixie Lulamoon, and like their mothers before them, is very studious in their study of magic. But of course, like the rest, the future Element of Magic embodies their virtue until it’s a vice. Very adept at their craft, but pursuing it for all the wrong reasons. Having a fascination of trying to recreate the type of power Starlight Glimmer used to wield — hopefully some day soon the rest will be able to convince them to use their magic a bit more responsibly, and that just because they Can doesn’t mean that they should.

Yes this took so so long but my next gen mane 6 are now done !!! Ahhhh I'm so glad - its weird defaulting to all black lines now but I wanted them to match the older art of the rest - check out any of the 'mlp nextgen'-esque tags to see the rest of them! But I'm very proud of Aureole specifically right now
what a happy discovery to know that takamatsu misaki, skip and loafer author had made a bl manga too... which has characters kind of similar to yuzuki and mako dynamic, which means, yuzumako real.
when you pray for a miracle and god sends you a 17yo boy with anger-management issues 🙏
very funny how Tsukauchi is shown praying for a miracle to happen and the following page is a centerfold of bakugo standing there like Moses when he comes down with the 10 commandments
Misaki Takamatsu, the mangaka who deserves much more recognition.
Misaki Takamatsu is great. So today I come to try to pique your curiosity, because I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING that the mangaka has created. Above all, SKIP AND LOAFER, the current romance (and slice of life) that, in the end, has not fallen on deaf ears for me
(If in sixty chapters he has done nothing but maintain that level, I doubt he will go down… oh, Museru😖).
All thanks to his simplicity and frankness, characteristics that he demonstrates in any of his "children", no matter how different they are from each other. There is, for example, CANARIA TACHI NO FUNE, a correct existentialist science fiction story that, at times, borders on cosmic horror (or horror, without further ado) in favor of simply telling you a good story (to which I say 5 /5 ). Or…
Well, if it is true, that OKAERI, AUREOLE (or WELCOME BACK, AUREOLE), could fit along the same lines as the first, with the difference of being two boys, lifelong friends, instead of a charming and dignified peasant girl and an enigmatic and popular city boy (among others, since ALL THE S&L CHARACTERS ALWAYS HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL. And very well, too). However, I feel that it varies the same. And that's another point to keep in mind: Takamatsu's versatility; which means that, no matter how much you see it in his stories (or repeat some of his themes), you will never read two works of his that are similar.
It's admirable.
And besides that, your drawing is an added bonus of extra enjoyment and charm^^
So I don't know what else I have to tell you to get you to give it a chance. In my case, she has been worth every second. She makes me feel everything, and makes me think about her stories and her characters at every moment. I think (and I like) that he understands that there are people of all kinds, with physiques and personalities of all kinds (that love is not only valid between beautiful people, God😂! - although I add that none of his characters seem ugly to me; ugliness is something that goes inside, as Constantino said- or, even, that not only because you are handsome or I LIKE YOU I HAVE A THOUSAND THINGS TO HAPPEN TO YOU)
and it leads to genius because reading is not an escape from reality, but rather a look at many different realities.
Somehow I cannot find words for Trigun Book club, but I do want to talk about comic books. This time what attracts my attention is showing the change of emotions through almost identical frames.
These are from two different works by Misaki Takamatsu of Skip and Loafer fame and I think they perfectly exemplify how less is more, how it is microexpressions, most subtle differences that makes the characters reactions so vivid.
A genuine smile fades and turns into a dead mask as an off-hand comment just pulls the rug from under the characters feet.
Disbelief turns into something akin to bitter, maybe even hysterical acceptance.
In animation or live action such moments are either artistically, theatrically prolonged or they are a blink and you miss it detail. In a painting there’s only one emotion at a time (unless the artist is some Picasso type and doesn’t give a shit about the shackles of realism).
But the panels of a comic book open, dissect time, they freeze expressions AND their change, lure readers in by similarity, drown them by details.
What is all this about? Probably I just want to be one more quiet voice that lifts this fantastically potent medium up, even if just a tiny bit.
