When the autistic Wangji idea came, I wasn't trying to make Wangji neurodivergent, but after doing a character study I concluded that there's nothing neurotypical about Wangji. It's not the introvertedness or the social awkwardness, everyone knows someone like that. It's his actions and reactions to other people and situations.

The first thing that gave it away was his reaction to death. It's not a thing that was unique to the WWX incident.

When he was six years old his mother died and there could have been a funeral, anyway, everyone knew his mother was dead. It was no secret. But Wangji would still sit in front of her house and wait for her to come back. He was not in denial. He truly believed that if he sat and waited long enough, she would open the door. He did that every month for a really long time. He could not process her death and the same thing happened with Wei Ying. There was no promise that he was coming back, Lan Zhan just up and did the same thing, refusing to believe that he was dead when a whole crowd had watched him die.

There's the way he communicates with people. People argue that Lan Zhan speaks very formally so people can't understand him. Lan Zhan doesn't speak at all. He doesn't like people. He's still an introvert. But when he IS trying to communicate he says very little. Five words or less. Full sentences are only for official meetings, or Wei Ying, or family. And when he does things, he fully expects people to understand him and is shocked when they don't. His brother communicates with him perfectly and Lan Zhan has never had to use words with Xichen, so he doesn't understand why others don't understand him. He thought he was making his feelings clear.

There's other times. When Wei Ying is talking to him. If he says like five sentences at once Lan Zhan will listen but not reply. So Wei Ying has to break it down to yes or no questions. Then ask them one by one. Only then does he get a reply and the replies are "Mn" for yes or just "No." Lan Wangji is so cute. And it makes his brother relationship with Xichen even cuter when he's neurodivergent because Xichen's just been raising this special kid all by himself. (I've been meaning to rant about autistic Wangji for a long time).

So compiling every thing together, the conclusion I reached was that he's likely autistic and doesn't know.

There's also the headcanon that Wei Wuxian is ADHD and I love that too.

Out of my latest order of Rankane doujinshi, this is my favorite thus far. It takes place post manga, but the characters are only just starting to explore what it is to hold hands as a couple! Gasp! It contains 3+ stories in it. The title of the doujinshi is "Because I've Always Loved You" and the main story I want to discuss is "Akane's Door".

Skip if you don't want spoilers, because I do plan to scan and post a translation! Scanlation! Expect a slow timeframe, as my laptop was recently murdered by a cup of tea. So I can't use proper Photoshop/Gimp/etc right now. I've at least finished writing out the entire translation, minus some of the onomatopoeia.

There are small touches of humor and some authentic vulnerable moments with communication! There's also some classic misunderstanding happening. Ranma is not overly aggressive and Asks For Consent before kissing. Yes. 💯.

Akane also confesses her feelings, for the most part, after accidentally worrying Ranma that she doesn't care for him. Ah, these late bloomers are so shy with the new scary aspect of being physically romantic. ❤️

This was a really refreshing story, and we even get Ranma and Akane being physically affectionate in BOTH of Ranma's forms. Hehe.

I might even adapt this into a fanfic with some minor changes. So, huzzah.

I finally had a chance to think more about your post about Austin and his versatile acting - and what strikes me about him is how much respect he has for the craft and for the characters he’s playing. Sometimes I think there are some actors who seem a lot more casual and like they’re just there to play dress-up (which isn’t a bad thing necessarily, or a sign of a lack respect - it all depends on the actor), but Austin is so thorough and mindful about EVERYTHING. When you consider that, along with his demeanor whenever he’s with people - I can’t think of another way to put it other than he just seems to have a really profound respect for people in general. So even though the skills he’s building in his acting is a very creative process, I feel like for him it’s not just an outlet for expression - but it’s also connection, understanding, learning, and GROWING. And because everything he does professionally comes from such a deep place within him, I feel like that’s what truly makes him great. His humility, his curiosity, and his willingness to be more open for knowledge and new experiences really sets him apart as someone special. I finally had a chance to think more about your post about Austin and his versatile acting - and what strikes me about him is how much respect he has for the craft and for the characters he’s playing. Sometimes I think there are some actors who seem a lot more casual and like they’re just there to play dress-up (which isn’t a bad thing necessarily, or a sign of a lack respect - it all depends on the actor), but Austin is so thorough and mindful about EVERYTHING.

not a controversial opinion but just a notion (sorry mere andar ka psychology graduate nikal ane wala hai) our country is so divided by demographics.

like, older people (45+) will watch the news and form opinions that way. younger people will do it via social media.

same goes for men vs women. older women (from what i’ve observed) don’t really sit around and watch the news, but men do. and these women who are too tired and overworked to think about these things form their opinions based on their husbands’ male relatives’ takes. on the contrary, younger women’s social media algorithms are filled with political commentary (mostly criticism). but men don’t seem to care enough and so their algorithm only shows them news that blows up and they find agreeable.

for example, my reels are full of women and queer folks recording themselves, scared, trying to create awareness based on something that happened to them, and small town cases of minorities dy*ng or going missing, but my brothers is just jokes about the ranveer allabahdia thing or pune porsche case etc. wish i could dive deeper lekin essay ho jayega lol

That's such a good analysis! I completely agree💯. Our narratives are largely driven by media consumption. But people don't want to read or engage in meaningful discourse. They just form opinions based on what they see. One of the major questions should be: What is the right thing to do? But no one really thinks that deeply. For actual positive changes, we really need to look at things more rationally and empathetically.

My Stand-In (2024)

Joe (Poom Phuripan) is the stuntman for famous action star Tong (Mek Jirakit). One day on set, Ming (Up Poompat) mistakes Joe for Tong, who is dating his sister. Ming and Joe start sleeping together, but Joe discovers that Ming only sees him as Tong's stand-in. Soon after, Joe dies in an accident on a set and is revived in the body of another man named Joe. How will he handle his second chance at life?

This drama was a wild ride. Joe seems to be too kind and naive but is obsessive and clingy, and Ming is clever, jealous, and jaded. Tong is conniving, fake, and selfish, but at the same time, there's authenticity shining through many of the things he does. It's hard to hate any of the characters, while it's easy to love them.

Joe is older than Ming, becomes obsessed with him, and reads too much into his words. If Ming gives an inch, he takes a mile. But he is kind to Ming and those around him.

Ming is open with Joe that he's not into anything serious, but he keeps indulging Joe. He cuddles him, gets jealous of him. But then he sees him as a replacement for Tong.

Tong will do anything to stay on top in the acting world. He's lazy, and let's Joe do his scenes for him. But he will also tear Joe down when he is a threat, and he uses Ming to his benefit. However, he genuinely cares about Ming and Ming's sister, and worries about Ming becoming close to Joe.

I loved the depth behind the characters and the plot, and I thought the ending was very interesting. It wasn't what I expected, but it made a lot of sense. I will definitely re-watch this drama.

I'm not sure which reader you meant so I'm gonna do general HCs for both widow! Reader and Addams! Reader. 🤷‍♀️

Presentation: I believe that widow reader would be a beta, both the marvel one and the DC one, in a world of aggressive alpha's and omegas the calm and collected beta would be greatly appreciated in a house like the Wayne household.

I think widow would've been genetically engineered in the marvel universe to present as beta because they're harder to track the scent of and harder to manipulate through scent or threat displays, they were required to be calm no matter the situation so even if they would've naturally been different they never had that chance to find out.

Now for Addams reader, I honestly think they'd be an alpha! They're not exactly threateningly aggressive but they are aggressively confident, they're not afraid to show teeth and fight obviously but most of the time they're a very laid back alpha, if someone challenges them there's a good chance they won't respond to it unless they actually make a move. Then they'll happily respond to the slight with a grin on their face as their scent switches to something close to deliriously excited.

Speaking of scent: widow Reader probably has a very mild, calming scent. Think something like crushed greens with a hint of clove and lavender, readers marvel body was probably near scentless thanks to the aforementioned HC. I think widow reader waking up in a body that's scent marked by Bruce and the others would probably make them crack a little because it's too disorienting on top of the trauma they just went through. 🤷‍♀️

Addams reader is probably very strong scented, think something grossly sweet like maraschino cherries, then you step closer and there's a whiff of rotting gamey meat and ash underneath and it adds an unsettling edge to them that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up. They do try to reign their scent in in public because they're somewhat polite, but at the Addams household they're 💯 letting everyone smell every emotion they feel, they're just being their authentic themselves after all!

Dynamic: like I said I think widow reader would be completely thrown off when they wake up and they're scent marked and bitten, not to mention they're in a body that's not modified to not react to scents as much so it'd be sensory overload on top of everything else. Once they're back in the manor they're masking as often as possible as hard as they can. I don't think betas pick up on scent as much but they surely smell some things, so reader has to deal with constant whiffs of anxiety and displeasure and pack bond around them while Bruce is also at the same time trying to find reasons to scent them, it's not fun for widow reader at all.

Addams reader doesn't gaf and marks everything around their property and probably tried to scent Harley and ivy to 'claim them as part of the Addams pack' but they both said no, readers fine with that though because they're not a dick. Reader does however mark their love interests a lil bit, even if they're another alpha. It's subtle things like grazing their wrist over a book they gave Jason or rubbing their face in a scarf they bought for Cass, they want them to know they're interested is all! Unfortunately this sometimes comes off as challenging so it doesn't always go as reader plans. 😵‍💫
