Thank you so much!! I really appreciate it <3 once again, STILL gonna give credit where due, my biggest inspirations were @rippleclan and @mourningsbane so DO go check them out too! But to answer the question, yes! It is a siren! Specifically, it's one that's showcased in Gemini Home Entertainment, as per this blog's inspiration! You see it in one of the episodes. The wiki tells me this is a Whelen WPS-3000, but I have 0 knowledge about sirens lol.

As for ForestClan, though, they've lived to the Twoleg greenleaf camp for long enough that when they hear this sound, it means something REALLY BAD is either GOING to happen, or is CURRENTLY happening. They've heard from local kittypets that when this thing goes off, Twolegs pick them up and run down to storm bunkers. Hence Redstar thinking, "Even this storm was too much for the Twolegs" in Part 2 of moon 5. Basically, if the TWOLEGS are running for shelter, this means ForestClan is DEFINITELY in trouble.

It is. I haven't abandoned it. It's just taking me a bit because I'm trying to work on another IF (@julietandcinderella-if) for a game jam, so I'm focusing on that for now. Though once that's done, I'll be back to working on Cheers.

So I've been kinda curious for a while now about this (If it's to spoilery i understand). With the hints that the Mc has been reincarnated with one of the sins being a former lover, how would the RO's react to an Mc that rejects said past lover?

3. What are some tropes or details that you think are very characteristic of your fics?

I answered this one, but since I remember the conversation we had earlier today, I'll add on what I said there. This is more broadly than just my fic writing, but I so really like the three man band. And I end up with similar cores for the members: a sassy femme, a grumpy masc, and someone whose gender is a little weird.

10. How do you decide what to write?

Man, I dunno. Apollo comes and hits me with his dodgeball or something.

No, but more seriously. Back in 2017, I was writing all five of the works in Calamity Quintet at the same time + my original works and it was not a good idea! That lasted about six months and then I burned out hard on writing at all and I didn't come back to writing fic for 7 years (we call it my Temple of Time nap). Only managed to get through my original work at the time cause it was a novella and I found a good self publishing group that helped me maintain momentum to see it through to publication.

Now, since I really only write long fic, I'm writing one at a time. I have my dedicated editing days to get my other ones over from Wattpad to AO3, but I'm writing MoaH. From there, it is pantsing. I follow the vibes. I know the end destinations, so it gives the characters time to just. Wander through and find stuff. And that's most of it.

11. Are you partial to a certain character/pairing or are you more equal-opportunity? If you are partial to any character/pairing, why do you think that is?

Ship and let ship. I'll be honest, I'm probably a little boring on romance for my reasons behind it. It doesn't super interest me to write, so I do tend to default to canon ships or highly likely ships (see Zelink) so I can focus on other stuff, like worldbuilding and setting exploration. Now, I still try to write good romance when it comes up, and I hope folks are enjoying MoaH's Zelink, I think it's pretty good, but it's not really a point I find super interesting to theorize about when I'm planning works to write. I'm more interested at poking at the world, so I kinda just pick the easy answer and then toodle around somewhere else in the story.

To be more fun, I have one ship that I'm particular about and it has to do with MoaH. I had someone ship Link and Marela together and I hated it. And it was the reason they gave me that pissed me off. Look, if people ship the MoaH characters differently than how they're written, I probably get it. But their reasoning was twofold: 1) they didn't like that Marela was a lesbian and 2) they thought Zelda was a bitch and didn't deserve Link. And it's just the combo of queer erasure and then quantifying worth in women based on how nice they are to men (like he wasn't an arrested criminal at that point in the story) that really teed me off about it. Not even a character exploration between the two, just not liking lady characters have depth.

since the clones think of themselves or each other as "him" or "it", but their Jedi Masters as "him", how do they feel about Gender as a whole? (great writing and worldbuilding! i can't wait to see more!)

🪽 The clones have an extremely poor grasp of how natborn Gender works; the Longnecks all look similar and don't care, and the Trainers were largely masculine alongside being Mandalorians, so Mando'a's neutral "kaysh" or the Basic's "he/him" are the only pronouns they really know. He/Him is the one they grew up with due to their biology and that works fine for most of them, while It/Its is new and universally despised as an objectification. If you asked ten clones what their gender is, 10/10 times they'd look confused, think for a moment, and answer either "Vod" or "Brother", with no intent to imply masculine with either. All these labels are confusing!

I know this isn’t part of the writer qna thing but I need to ask.

Do you have any advice on how to write interesting characters? What do I need to put in a profile to make them interesting?

I’ll be blunt and honest. 

I see so many people, no matter the fandom, just focusing on character profiles, their appearances and getting their personalities down in those fancy profile sheets which is great, it’s a good resource and reference BUT here’s the thing. 

You need to write them into scenes, even of it’s just a paragraph of something. You need to put them in situations and conflicts because believe it or not, your characters will surprise you. You need to write them to actually get to know them. 

The amount of times I’ve planned scenes out in my head and then when it comes to writing them in the story and realise: ‘wait, this character wouldn’t act like this, I need to change this to fit them’ is surprising. 

A profile is like a photo. You know what they look like, you know their history and personality but you don’t know who they are until you write them.

Writing a character is getting to know them on a personal level. You are after all, putting yourself in their shoes and getting to know them intimately. 

So please, if you are creating characters, write a scene for them, don't just create a sterile cookie cutter profile. Get to know the people you’re creating. If you do, they'll start to feel a little more real and convincing.

TLDR: Writing characters into scenes is far more important to developing them than character profiles. Write them not about them. A profile can't develop or imteract with the story/world you create.

For Cloudthunder: What's your favorite location of the territory?/What's your favorite hobby?

"Oh, I love exploring our home!" Cloudthunder purrs. She licks her paw and grooms her ear as she continues to answer casually. "I know that Redstar's worrying can make it seem like our home is terrifying - but it isn't always like that. It's why it's worth fighting for."

She takes a break from her grooming and looks up with wide, amused eyes as she's asked what her favorite part of the territory is. "How dare you limit me to just one? My favorite place changes all the time!" She taps her tail pensively, staring up at the sky in thought. She starts thinking out loud. "Oh...maybe Red Rock Slope...? Oh, but the view of the mountain by the Pine Gap trail is so beautiful..."

After a moment longer, she gasps. "Oh, wait! Greenleaf has lovely vernal pools that appear with the rain. There's a large one that appears down south, a bit close to our border - but the Twolegs must love them too, because there's this lovely bridge they made to travel across it! The view of the bulrushes and dragonflies in the summer...it's truly beautiful! And the best part: I've never seen a Woodcrawler den or Nature's Mockery there. And good riddance for that! I'd be pretty upset if I couldn't visit again."

For Shiverkit, Windfur and Olive: What is a secret they're hiding?

Shiverkit looks up with big eyes. "Um...a secret? I dunno...momma told me not to keep secrets. I, um...ate a bug when I was told not to once!" Shiverkit pauses, then grumbles and stares at the floor. "Windfur was right, it didn't taste very good..." Windfur stares past the scenery, avoiding direct eye contact. "...Some days I wish I joined my father in becoming a kittypet. I...I promised Chicoryglint I'd stay. But...I just..." Windfur trails off and says no more.

Olive stares at the wall as she lies in her bed. She blinks, and her breath trembles. "I want these kits I'm bearing. But I'm scared. I want them to live." Her voice wavers. "I'm so afraid of having hope."

To the author: What's your favorite ship?

The world for ForestClan is dark, but not grimdark! It's still a world that the cats want to fight for, and live in. They believe it's their home, not the home of the Woodcrawlers! So they DO still live their lives, and celebrate, and fall in love! This may be a bit of a spoiler, but so far in my Clan, my favorite couple is Hopechase x Iciclepool! They become the lesbian married couple of the clan in the future, and I love them for it <3 Some other couples are with characters that aren't introduced yet! Barleywave gets a silly mutual "commitment-shy but slow tumble into love" with another character, and Morningpaw when she's an adult gets into a really cute "cheery/grumpy" dynamic with another character. That's all you're getting out of me for now, though!

Do I respond to comments? I try to, but if I am honest I do forget often... I go through almost phases of replying to EVERYTHING and then just not checking my account for 2 months.

What has the most angst-ridden ending? I have an incomplete dead dove fenders peice that (if I ever get around to finishing) will likely be my angstiest ending. Then general premise is that due to Justice's presence Anders calling doesn't come, but the corruption does and Fenris goes to ridiculous lengths trying to keep Anders Anders.

What has the happiest ending? Of the things i've finished... probably Shadows In The Ring as they escape at the end and burn the place down — general premise of the AU is that Hawke owns a fight club, Anders is being blackmailed to work there and Fenris is a fighter who is literally owned by Hawke.

Have I received hate? Not often. Only time I have gotten any was when I wrote a fic where I had a character experience psychosis (I have schizoaffective disorder myself) and a few people were very unhappy about my giving their favourite charatcer a mental illness. That fic no longer exists though.

Do I write smut? And what kind? I have tried... over and over. I just can't seem to do it. I have one PWP fic but it was so hard to write... and more recently I have written a few sex scenes using metaphors and more poetic language — not sure if they count as smut.

Do I write crossovers? I have a few ideas in my head for crossovers, but so far never written one.

Have I ever had a fic stolen? I don’t think so.

Have I ever had a fic translated? No.

Have I ever co-written a fic? No. Open to the idea though.

A WIP I'll never finish? probably several 😂 I try to finish them but sometimes my brain just doesn't comply for long enough.

Writing strengths? I've been told I am good at fight scenes.

Writing weaknesses? Other than smut? Fluff, comfort, anything 'nice' or slow paced really. I'm working on it though, been taking a lot of fluffy DADWC prompts recently that I think has helped.

Do I like foreign language dialogue? I love cultural and language misunderstandings. However, I don't do it that often myself... sometimes thread in some Latin or Gealic as I did Latin at college and can speak Gàidhlig, and I have been known to use German as Ander, but that's about it. Love it when others do it though.

First fandom I wrote for? Publicly One Peice. In my head? No idea... Animals of farthing wood maybe? I do remember making up stories for that as a kid.

Favorite fic I've written? Oh... I have no idea... That likely changes by time of day to be honest.

Aster & Fenrir: Second Chance, Soul mates, You’ve changed/on the rocks – couple then have to find their way back to each other(this one happens later on in the series), Beauty and the Beast, Emotional scars, polyamory, tortured

Uriel: Second Chance, Soul mates, Can’t spit it out/Say I love you or how they feel, Lovers in denial, Emotional scars
