ladybug makes the observation at some point that chat noir, at the ripe age of fifteen, acts like such a dad sometimes. like he'll comment about how she should really sit up straight while theyre chilling out after patrol, and he'll start bringing a pair of binoculars so he can birdwatch from their rooftop, and he'll do that thing where after she casually mentions she's been craving strawberies lately he starts bringing industrial amounts of strawberries for her every time they meet. and she just thinks, wow, this boy must come from such a wonderful family for him to be so cute.

so when he quietly admits to her one day that he hasn't hugged his own dad in years, in fact he's not even sure if his own dad really likes him very much, her heart shatters

I do not want to be on twitter. I left months ago, but kept the profile for fear someone might impersonate me (which happened once before). But with the book launching, my publisher has asked me to be active again posting info. I’ve seen some authors keep it going by having a disclaimer about ‘news’ vs ‘live’ ( @neil-gaiman has this—see below. I’ve posted mine plus the pinned post, too if y’all have thoughts/edits). I am a little stuck by 1) not having more than 10k followers and 2) not having anyone dedicated to my media on my behalf. Every time I go there I feel icky. Any advice, authors of tumblr?

GeekGirlCon is rerunning the STEM + Steam panel I was part of in in October! We talked about the representation of women in STEM careers in the romance genre and how the genre as a whole can be a vehicle for feminism on and off the page. I’m completely honored they liked our raucous, fun chat enough to rerun it as part of their February programming (and on Valentines Say no less!)
