So tonight I dreamt the Strawhats were somehow for some reason transported into Luffy’s mind and there were lots and lots of crazy little Luffy’s running around doing crazy Luffy things and one is giving the Strawhats a tour and they’re just walking through a jungle with trees growing roasted croc and there’s a big straw hat in the sky and there’s little fires to honour Ace everywhere and then they come into a long long hallway with beetles on the wall and a detailed description of all info on each below it and at the end of the hallway there’s a gigantic statue of a robot. And then guide Luffy’s like “Huh. Did we always have that?” and another Luffy like “No but we do now!” and suddenly the statue turns into an actual robot and they’re in a colosseum and there’s a beetle the size of a house and the robot and the beetle are fighting and the Strawhats are like what and a Luffy yells “FIGHT OF HYPERFIXATIONS” and Bink’s Sake starts playing and the beetle bites the robot and then I woke up and I’m now obsessed with this scene. And it feels like a silly silly fic and I kinda want to write it but I already have so many fics to write and I’m slow so I’m giving this child up for adoption. So if you are crazy and ridiculous enough please feel free to use this and do something with it <3

the former almost feels to an extent respectful. like in the caricature of martial societies and so on, I could in theory defeat you and defend my honour or some shit lmao. it's a challenge, not a devaluing

This event really recontextualizes Li Ling's distaste for authority and desire for justice, doesn't it? It's not just rebellion for rebellion's sake, it's also because Yun Chuan, one of the few people he truly respected who engaged with him on his level was imprisoned and (he was told) dead despite him knowing that Yun Chuan would probably never do anything worthy of imprisonment, and never being told the crime and essentially being told to just forget about it. Like, that's someone who's main interactions with authority were clearly ineffective, and when he finally receives respectful guidance it's taken away in what appears to be an unjust example of authority. No wonder he was a trouble student.

drawing statues is strangely both more difficult AND easier than drawing ppl at the same time??? it's so weird!! like u have to take into account the way stone isn't soft and doesn't have any give.....but also the actual SURFACE of stone works?? differently?? so u can't use light and shadow in exactly the same way??? it's just??? different??

......buuuuut to be fair a lot of my drawings of ppl come out quite stiff, so my style lends itself very well to drawing statues!!! i should draw them all the time, they look far more natural lmaooo 🤣🤣🤣
