Sometimes you remember that in OV that job Kevin was liking was allowing him a cot. As in 'crappy-ass folding bed you use when camping and shit'. Presumably at the garage given one generally has a mattress or something in a proper living space. And he's noting it as a benefit of the job.

Like, the closest we know from his living situation in UAF is that he's got a room at his mom's that he seems not to use too often given dinner with his mom is a scheduled event (and WoG that he doesn't live there), we never really get told anything more, but that is the sorta thing that has to give the 'Kevin was totally living out of his car' crowd fuel.
