Hey, I have a question for Avaricta! I haven’t heard nor seen much of you so would you like to share a bit of yourself? Maybe current projects, thoughts on other individuals, etc?
Hmm. A missive? For me? (She chuckles.) I thought those were reserved for the higher-ups.
I am always busy. Within the Progress Engine, I am the master of virulence and infection, tailoring the oil to its fullest potential and adapting as circumstances see fit. The impaler shrikes and the thrummingbirds are my work, appropriated poorly by the necrosquitoes of the Dross. When the Reality Chip fell into my praetor's hands, it was me who wove its secrets into our lifeblood.
As a subpraetor, I report directly to Jin-Gitaxias often. Say what you must about his mannerisms, but his Great Synthesis is visionary.
I try not to waste my processing capabilities on thoughts of the other praetors. They are problems for the spies to solve.

Avaricta, what improvements have your sective made to the glistening oil so far? Also, what kinds of research are you currently focusing on?
Much of it would be what you would expect: augmenting infectiousness, subtle and difficult-to-counter delivery methods. Mirrodin is securely fallen now, though, and has been for many, many cycles. With this in mind, we have since turned our sights to the future, improving the oil's survivability in interplanar conditions for missions like the Augur's own. It is no secret that we hope to mobilize a large-scale invasion, after all, once we configure the not-us's Planar Gate to better accommodate our legions. -Avaricta

Is your Plane Shift supplement going to have tables for Phyrexian names? Or other random tables? I like random tables haha.
I don't generally make set name lists because I don't want to make certain names more commonly used than others just by virtue of being on the list (if that makes sense????) and also because I'd want a perfectly authentic-to-the-Phyrexian-language list that isn't possible with the information we have. That said, I know Phyrexian names can be difficult so I should probably add something. To be determined.
I also have certain headcanons like the idea that core-born Phyrexians do not tend to have names that end in vowel + glottal stop, at least as written in their native language (sometimes anglicization adds vowels at the end, as in Avaricta from Avarict). It's just a pattern I have noticed between all the named Phyrexians we got in the actual Phyrexian language.
That said there can definitely be random tables. Notably,
NEW PHYREXIA TRINKET TABLE!!!!

I am perhaps more excited about this than I should be.
The first 25 are Mirran, the second 25 are Phyrexian. Some of them are iconic cards from the setting 👀
I wonder if I can get to 100...

Headcanon: Avaricta, the Gitaxian sective from some Scars block flavor text, isn't core-born.
I always thought her name didn't sound as natively Phyrexian as those of the other subpraetors.

I used HeroForge to design her an appearance, and I’m quite happy with it.
