Another Phyrexian biology question: do the Phyrexians of the surgical bay which those eye stalks actually see through them like additional eyes or is it more of a knowledge is stored somewhere else via most of them for the rest of the faction? It sounds overwhelming and messy to have so many haphazardly but I suppose one could become acquainted with them after some time

They do actually see through them! Jace does. They could probably also be programmed to send that information to some other receiver, seeing as even the landscape itself is covered in eye tendrils.

Hello Tamiyo. If you're watching this tape, it can only mean one thing: I'm dead, and our noble campaign to bring perfection to the Multiverse has failed, utterly and completely. while glaringly obvious plot holes, chasms in logic and painfully missed opportunities are inevitable in any long-running series/franchise, the one star trek plot hole that has kept me up at night more than any other, the one that with each episode, twists the knife further and further, is the fact that Captain Kathryn Janeway did not come up through engineering. like HUH???

i’m only halfway through season 2 and very rarely does an episode go by where Janeway doesn’t find an excuse to make her way to engineering. the second something goes wrong with the ship that woman is SPRINTING to see what’s going on with her own two eyes (and usually her hands too). like in S1 E1 of Voyager, they get flung 70,000 light years from home, and one of the first things she does is run to engineering.

i know i know, she was a science officer, something something captains need to be proficient in all domains aboard a starship, yada yada - yes, Janeway has a reputation for going above and beyond when it comes to knowing her shit, but her level of comfort and familiarity with engineering, her ability (and desire) to run around, ask questions, complete tasks and essentially function as a regular member of the engineering crew indicates to me more than just ‘she’s smart’ (see: “Warp Particles!”)

TLDR: Kathryn Janeway was, is, and always will be an engineering girlie to me and i will die on this hill

Malcator, I was curious of your relationship with Elesh Norn and Vorinclex. You seem very strongly allied with Jin-Gitaxias with your work in his sphere and was also curious if you had any insight to the dynamics between those three praetors, since you are in contact with at least Norn and Gitaxias.

I may be in contact with Norn, but I hardly work under her, as much as she may pretend to hold sway over the march of Progress. I was chosen by Jin-Gitaxias to ensure our faction's adherence to the Gitaxian Standards of Purity, and it is a station I hold with utmost seriousness.

Jin-Gitaxias and Elesh Norn have what may generously be called a "business relationship." Toward that group of fanatics, our Progress Engine has for now adopted a stance of strategic tolerance. Let Norn and her worshippers stumble blindly toward a future that shall never be theirs, and let them believe us their servants for now. Though our current position is less than optimal, the Progress Engine will at least pick up the remnants of their failure and refine them into tools of synthesis.

Now, Vorinclex...

There is no good place to start. Under Norn we are nominally allies, but Jin-Gitaxias and Vorinclex have... history. Centuries of it. Suffice to say the slobberings of Vorinclex's beasts are just as painful to witness as Norn's dogma, though Jin-Gitaxias certainly pursues factional relations with a greater degree of enthusiasm. It is not my place to determine if this bodes well.
