Summary: Akiyasu, an onmyoji, is a college student in the modern era together with Sae. Sae is suffering over group requirements.

Comfort fic for Sae who has a ton of school works to do.༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ

"Hey, should I curse them?" Akiyasu asked after hearing her rant about her current situation.

Sae who was on the verge of tears looked up and saw the seriousness in Akiyasu's eyes.

She wiped the corners of her eyes and replied, "You don't have to. If they won't help me, then I'll do it myself."

"In that state?" Akiyasu snapped sarcastically.

Sae was aware that he is only acting that way out of concern for her. Still, it wouldn't be right to do that out of spite.

When she kept silent, Akiyasu sighed audibly. "I hate that I can't do anything for you even when I can see you suffering. Maybe I really should shift to your program. It's still not too late for me to do that."

It was not the first time that Akiyasu offered to do that but of course Sae also wouldn't want that. When it comes to a point that Akiyasu feels baffled enough that he can't help her, he always says that line.

Hearing that usual line brought the corners of Sae's lips turn slightly upward. She then replied her usual line, "You know I wouldn't want you to do that anyway. You have your own dream to fulfill. I'll never take that away from you."

"Then, what do you suggest? Should I rat on them for you?"

Sae contemplated for a moment and said, "For now, I think I have to finish this up so we can submit it on time."

Akiyasu rolled his eyes. "There you go again. You're too nice for your own good." He sighed again and added, "What good are these powers if I can't even use it to help my girlfriend?"

"I know at least one good thing -- your powers got you a girlfriend. Don't forget that we met because of it."

"Fine. But if I you don't rat them out soon, I'll be the one to do so. Or else, they might get a grade that they don't deserve over a group output that they barely helped out," Akiyasu said reluctantly.

Sae hugged Akiyasi at his acquiescence. "Having your company is enough for now. At least you'll stay up late with me."

He patted her head and sighed again. "Of course, it seems that this is all I can do for you now. Would you like a warm drink? I'll make you a cup."

"Thanks a lot, Aki."

Sae then proceeded to work on the group requirements that required her to do most of the work because of her uncooperative groupmates. She is thankful for the moral support that Akiyasu unconditionally offers her.

Thoughts on: Yura

I'll be honest, Yura didn't leave much of an impresson on me when Ayakoi was first announced and all the characters were introduced. His design wasn't bad but I wasn't really all that interested in him. Of course, I didn't let that stop me from playing his route a few years back and was impressed by it. Now years later after replaying it, I found myself liking him and his story more. Not to say that Yura is an all time favorite but I think his storyline is one of the strongest of the Dawn faction.

*This review will contain spoilers, you have been warned*

To me, I think that Yura's story, along with Kuya's and Aoi's, are the most character driven plotlines of the faction. Maybe even the whole game. During the first half of his route, I got a really good look at what Yura's beliefs are along with this thought process. Given that he took on Gaku's curse and killed lots of animals over the thousand years he's been alive, you get to see a side of Yura that shows just how vulnerable he is even though he insists that it doesn't bother him.

From the way he acts, he comes off as a person who doesn't really put much value in his happiness. To him, so long as Gaku is OK, that's all that matters to him despite having to take on a inhumane curse. We see as the story goes on just how complacent he is with his current life and despite that, he really just wants to be rid of this suffering not just for him but for Gaku. I loved how multi-faceted he is. He more than a guy who has an unhealthy obsession with sweets, he's more than just his curse. He's Yura. A guy who only wants others to be happy at the expense of his own happiness.

This is where Futaba comes in and I think she does a great job at not only being a constant support system to Yura but also snapping him out of his despair. She isn't going to allow Yuta to devalue his life for the sake of others. I think this is one of her best moments because she she goes way above and beyond what any person would do and she puts her whole heart and emotions into doing it.

And finally, there's Doman. He is the main villain of Yura's story and I think that compared to every other villain/antagonist, Doman is the most heinous and devious one. He is the one who placed the curse all those years ago and just absolutely enjoys seeing the pain and anguish he caused for the twins. This guy is evil through and through... AND I LOVE HIM! This is the kind of villain I can love to hate. I really wish Voltage would prioritize their focus on the main story instead of the gacha so we could get Yura's sequel story and see more of Doman.

There were only two things I wasn't a fan of.

The first being was how he spoke. And I get it, the dude is literally 1,000 years old, so it makes sense why he would speak the way he does. But I didn't enjoy having to re-read several of his lines just to understand what he was saying. It didn't take away from the enjoyment I had but I could do without him speaking like he's reciting a play from Shakespeare.

The second would have to be with how Akiyasu's plotline was just done with. To me, it did suffer the same gripes I had with Ginnojo's story in that we have basically two plots happening at the same time. I was more invested in Yura's plotline than I was with Aki's but given that I have read the other character's stories from the Dawn faction, I knew how it would end but I didn't expect it to just end so abruptly and for Yura's to completely take over. It wasn't as bad as Ginnojo's but I'm left wondering how it would've all fit in the sequel story with Aki and Doman being the antagonists.

Those are my thoughts on Yura. His story had suffering and hope all mixed together creating a somber and yet hopeful story.

And with that, I am done with all the Dawn faction characters. I'll be posting a full review on the Dawn faction as a whole soon.

Aki x Aoi WIP!

Note: One day I realized that I haven’t written any Aoi fics yet, then my Aki stan friend actually suggested Aki x Aoi. We had previous convos on how to make this ship sail and I promised her a fic by November which is Aki’s birth month. But a lot happened irl plus the depressing announcement of ARR’s impending end so I still haven’t reread Aoi’s route until now to figure out canon stuff as basis. Wrote a WIP at least to show my friend and here it is.

Since idr the specifics of Aoi’s powers, let’s just say that I headcanon that whenever Aoi banishes wraiths, he activates his powers so in that moment, any contact with him can let him read that person. I think his Satori powers are different from wraith-banishing powers but for the purpose of this ship, I’ll go with that. And I think it is canon that Aoi needs to have contact with a person to read them? Maybe not? ugh I don’t really remember, I rambled for 2 paragraphs which is I think longer than the actual WIP below. Gonna check my facts later for when I complete this thing.

That person is wearing a monocle and a black and white kariginu. He came out of nowhere just like the girl. He made a fleeting contact with Aoi's arm when he jumped in front of him to take care of the wraith himself.

Just who are these people? I just wanted to paint in peace but one thing after another showed up like this, Aoi thought to himself. He was completely baffled by the sudden turn of events.

For fairness, this is mostly based on what I thought of their looks when I saw them for the first time, because once I got to know some of them more in their books, I became biased. 😆 Take Kuya for example, he's only on the middle tier in terms of appearance but because he's my bias now, I would most likely put him on the highest tier because I fell in love with him and that automatically makes me think he's the hottest. (≧▽≦)

I guess sometimes, we'll just suddenly realize how hot a person is the more we get to know them. Either that or love is blind 😂 jk jk

Notes:

Koga - He's the face of the app, of course he's so dang hot! I mean seriously, whenever I see his card illustrations, I just swoon 😍

Oji - Similar to Koga, his card illustrations are just so dang swoon-worthy! ♡ Also, he reminds me of Kisuke Urehara, one of my top favorite characters in Bleach who I also think is hot XD

Toichiro - It's obviously because he always looks dapper and dresses to impress. Him being a kemonomimi also adds to his handsomeness 🦊

Shizuki - I always think butlers are handsome, I mean it's such a handsome job! He also reminds me of Vishnal, the butler from Rune Factory 4 who is also my chosen bachelor 😆

Gin - I swear it's because of his eyes. They're so friggin captivating! It doesn't help that my favorite eye color is blue. 💙 I also like his scales/tattoos? in his ayakashi form. And his past self! omg 😍 If Gin looked more like his past self, he would be on the highest tier.

Gaku - I already thought his younger self was handsome but his adult form, my gosh! Especially in his awakened Love's Floral Embrace card! *sighs* (⁄ ⁄>⁄⩊⁄<⁄ ⁄)♡

Yakumo - I LOVE his outfit. And look at his awakened Voyage on the High Seas card! 😍 Maybe I just like formal/semi-formal western/european outfits in general (≧▽≦)

Kage - Ngl, he knows how to rock a killer look (both figuratively and literally) as a guy AND as a girl. Best of both worlds (≧▽≦)♡

Aoi - HE LIKES CUTE STUFF 😍 Like his clip, his pink braided hair, and his pink outfit. I love that! I need more representation of guys who are feminine yet can still be just as handsome as those who are more masculine or have that boyish charm like Nachi & Kuro. Tbh, just because a guy is feminine doesn't make him any less of man. I mean, malewives exist (≧▽≦)♡

Yura - He's prince-like, especially with the way he speaks. Or should I say princess-like? cuz he's like a disney princess with all the animals liking him. 😆 Also, I automatically think someone is cute if they like animals. They get bonus points if the animals like them back (꒪꒳꒪)♡

Tatsu - Looks average in his regimentals but is rather cute in his casual wear. (=´ ꒳ `=)♡ Same with Aki & Kyo, they're more handsome in their casuals.

Also, everyone is automatically hot if they're wearing a tuxedo just cuz I said so (≧▽≦)♡
