I'm always worried that since I don't draw fanart or make videos or write fanfiction, my contribution isn't really worth much. Like my writings are really easy to just lose to the aether, too long-winded and lacking in any visual flair

It always makes me so happy when people respond to what I write, like when @wickedsick went back and forth with me on the Homestuck Negators posts or when you drew a comic of one of my chat posts. It helps remind me that I'm not just saying a bunch of random poetic nonsense to myself, but part of a community that loves this story as much as I do

So, corny as it might be to say

I appreciate you all for making this series, that I once felt so alone in loving, into one of the best fandom experiences I've ever had!

MY HEART IS ACHING SO MUCH RIGHT NOW BECAUSE UNDEAD UNLUCK, HAS JUST OFFICIALLY ENDED!!! 💗😭💗😭💗😭💗

This series, man... I only started reading Undead Unluck around August of 2023, but it instantly became an absolute favorite of mine...! In my personal opinion, Undead Unluck was amazing from start to finish, with my only gripes being that it was being super rushed near its end (though, many others have had issues with the pacing much earlier in the series than me 😅), the fact not everyone got their time to shine (R.I.P. Kururu's screen time...! 🥲), and the fact that the series just didn't get as popular as it definitely should've (SERIOUSLY, WHY DID THEY HAVE TO MAKE THE ANIME A HULU EXCLUSIVE!?!? 😩) But even with those small gripes, Undead Unluck is practically perfect in my eyes and I think that it is hands down one of Shonen Jump's absolute best series that they have ever published...!! 😄 Undead Unluck will forever be special to me and everyone else that decided to read this wonderful series...!! 💗🤗💗

And speaking of the fans of Undead Unluck, I give a shoutout to @tokiro07, @wickedsick, @italeteller, @ayanarts-01, @phylloodles, @nessiefynn, @your-zipper-is-down / @uu-tella, @tadpolebobatea, @kitty0go and the many others that are in the Undead Unluck fandom, y'all have brought me so much joy with your posts about the series that hope that even though the series is over now, I hope that we will all continue to talk about Undead Unluck for a long time...!! 💗

So yeah, I'm gonna miss Undead Unluck, but it will always be with me...!! 😊 Here's to hoping that David Productions will adapt ALL of Undead Unluck...!!! 🤞And as for the author, Yoshifumi Tozuka, thank you so much for making such a wonderful series...!! 🥹 Whatever you make next, I'll definitely be there to read it...!! 💗🤗💗

Damn, 5 years already. I started reading UU when the first chapter dropped, but tbh it wasn't until the end of the Autumn arc that I got really, Really hooked. Akira's story really struck a chord in me, and from that point on UU own my ass

And now, 5 years later, with only one more chapter left in the chamber, I gotta say that I would love it if we could have had 5 more years, because this series is absolutely worth it

The worldbuilding, the power systems, the negations, the UMAs, the artifacts, the wonderful characters, the fights as storytelling, the multiple canon romances, it has not been without it's stumbled along the way but looking back, it's all been wonderful. The series always felt like it was running from the axe at mach 5 and despite that, Tozuka was able to deliver hands down the best shonen series the magazine has seen in years

I am SO annoyed that it's not more popular

Idk if it's the shaky beginnings, the gore or the lack of yaoibait, but UU never got the recognition it deserved as a fucking amazing series, even when the anime aired (thanks a lot disney, you fuckers)

But even so, we managed to make a good community, full of passionate people who love UU to death and back, a community that I don't see fading anytime soon, even when the series ends

And speaking of community, it wouldn't be proper to do an appreciation post without naming a few of the people who make the community so great

like crystal themnekochan on twitter who I think doesn't have a tumblr but was the one who started the idea of the 5 years celebration, and @tokiro07 who does analysis posts every week, and @your-zipper-is-down who has continued the time-honored tradition or going absolutely insane for a secondary character the author doesn't focus so much on, @nessiefynn the absolute VicJuiz genuis, our wonderful artists like @ayanarts-01, @phylloodles, @feuersturm97, @kitty0go, @gintoekis, @tadpolebobatea, @boringa55binch, @anfuureak, taiyo who I think doesn't have a tumblr, thedrawkshow on youtube for picking up the series and doing twitch streams to talk about it, every single youtuber who made reaction videos to the anime, webmantis on twitter who gave us fan translations of the two novels, david evelyn who tirelessly worked on translating the manga and gave us the now iconic "wicked sick" line, DavidPro studios who gave us the wonderful anime, every single voice actor and animator and worker that participated in the anime, Queen Bee, Shiyui, DECO*27, Kairi Yagi and OKAMOTO'S for giving us the spectacular anime openings and endings, every single online live reader who have lost their shit reading and gave birth to the Ruin meme, and really, everyone in the fandom

Whether you made art or fic or edits, whether you're a live reader or a discord lurker, whether you're on tumblr or the subreddit or twitter or bluesky, if you've been here at all,

I went to scope out metaphor prices and looked at the collector’s edition just to see what it came with (I don’t want it tho) (don’t care enough) and

one of the bonuses is the teeth enemy pins?? I’m swinging between ‘what? why?’ and ‘that’s awesome actually I love teeth’ and it’s not a bonus included in the jp collector’s edition. they made this for the english speaking fans. what? why? (because it *is* working, I am fascinated) (why doesn’t japan get teeth? huh?)
