The very idea of Pelinal Whitestrake always terrified me (and all my mer TES characters).
This highly terrifyingly deep-lore-infused animation sums it up quite well. ALL FEAR PELINAL SLAYER OF MER

Back at it again with Snow Elf Food
Before the Atmorans dropped into modern day Skyrim, known then as Mereth, The Snow Elves had another ancient enemy at their back door.
The Ayleids got closer and closer to their borders, seeing the vast land rich with potential. The Snelves were obviously pissed that they'd be bold enough to try and build settlements under their noses. The Arch Curates of the chantries sent out their armies, their seers advising them to not hesitate.
They destroyed anything of the Ayleids that they came across and weren't merciful once they saw the gruesome displays they had their slaves participate in. While they had little contact with humans, The Snow Elves did feel mercy towards the ones under the torture. Most were given a quick and painless death, the bodies left together in the snow. Freed from their place of torment. It was all the more reason to get the nasties out of their land.
One particular artifact caught their eyes however. A beacon of a fallen Magni-Gi and plans for a temple in her honor. The Crowned Prince cast it off the throat of the world, letting the light of Magnus decide where his disowned daughter's relic reside.
Little remains of the conflict, but Meridias beacon was found by her worshippers in the 1st Era, forever uncertain how it got to Skyrim..

Gelebor reading an Ayleid reference text.
There isn't any more Falmer text than the Falmer stone, but Ayleidoon is very similar to the Falmer language (probably mutually intelligible).
