Pairing: Tom Holland x famous!reader

Warnings: lots of flirting

Tom and Y/n never did interviews together. Their schedules rarely lined up, and they were almost never promoting something at the same time. But they both had new projects out, and were miraculously in the same city at the same time, so when their publicists pitched the idea, Buzzfeed jumped at the chance to interview the internet’s favourite couple.

To be fair, reacting to fan edits wasn’t an inventive idea. But both their publicists and Buzzfeed figured they’d get some wholesome content out of it, and who were Tom and Y/n to argue; it sounded like fun.

They were sitting next to each other behind a small table on an incredibly nondescript set. People milled about behind the camera; both their teams off to the side and busy on their phones. Y/n’s makeup artist had just finished touching up her makeup, and Tom straightened the collar of his jumper. Y/n looked at her boyfriend beside her, twisting a strand of his hair around her finger to exaggerate his curls.

“You look good,” she said, pressing a chaste kiss to his cheek, pulling back to make sure she didn’t get any lipstick on his face.

“Says you,” he countered, his hand squeezing her thigh beneath the table.

“Roll sound, roll camera!” A voice called from the crowd of people off camera.

“So we’re going to watch videos about ourselves?” Tom looked at the director, who was holding a clipboard.

“Exactly,” the director responded with a nod. “You can start whenever you’re ready.”

“I’ll let you navigate then since you’re so much better at technology than me,” he slid the iPad across to Y/n. The iPad was open to the photos gallery; an album had been selected which had five saved videos already lined up.

“Ooh, this first one looks like you,” she clicked the first thumbnail. An Instagram reel popped up that showed clips from Tom’s Prada campaign set to some Tiktok popular sound. Y/n looked at her boyfriend, “you know what I love about this video?”

“What?”

“That one close up shot of your nipple.”

“Oh yeah,” Tom laughed as Y/n zoomed into the offending shot.

“Like I’m so sorry, it’s such a beautifully shot video and you look great in it, it’s just your nipple, man, it takes me out every time.”

Tom pouted, crossing his arms over his chest. “What’s wrong with my nipples?”

“Nothing. Babe, you know I love your nipples.”

His brows furrowed, but the tell tale sign of his reddening ears gave him away. “Can you please never say that again?”

“What, that I love your nipples?” She grinned as Tom groaned, scrunching up his nose, begging her to stop.

“This is a great start. Let’s move on,” he mumbled, the tips of his ears still bright red, swiping to the next video.

The words “Tom obsessing over Y/n for 8 minutes and 37 seconds” flashed on the screen.

“8 minutes?” Tom looked at the crew behind the camera. “You want us to watch 8 minutes of me talking about Y/n?”

“And 37 seconds,” Y/n added. “Can’t forget the 37 seconds, love.”

“We cut it done,” the director said from behind the camera.

They had cut it done, but even for a two minute video, Tom talked about his girlfriend in a lot of different interviews. Y/n paused on about the fifth clip; him talking to Seth Meyers about filming Uncharted.

“It’s kind of impressive that you manage to bring me up when you’re talking about a movie that I’m not in, let alone a movie that I didn’t even manage to visit the set of.”

“You’re just always on my mind, darling.”

Y/n laughed, but she felt her heart flutter as someone from the crew aww’ed in the background.

The next video, like the first one of Tom, was an edit of a perfume campaign Y/n had done earlier in the year. She looked gorgeous with smokey eyes and dressed in flowing fabric that flattered her body. Waves crashed against the rocky shoreline as she dramatically posed with the glass bottle.

“Geez,” Tom pretended to fan himself, pulling his collar as if he was burning up. “Look at you!”

“Stop it,” Y/n rolled her eyes, bumping her shoulder into his.

“C’mon, love. You look stunning! I mean you look hot in whatever you're wearing, but seriously. I’d buy that perfume.” He looked directly into the camera, “I actually would, the perfume does smell really nice, Y/n wears it all the time.”

Successful by Ariana Grande started playing when Y/n pressed start on the next video. A compilation of red carpet clips of the two of them, each clip overlayed with headlines that spelled out their accomplishments. Y/n couldn't stop smiling as the video played, she glanced over at Tom who seemed just as enthralled in the edit as she was.

"Those are some pretty impressive things we've done, huh? A Guinness world record, multiple billion dollar movies, TIME100. Does this make us a power couple?” Tom asked, his elbow resting on the table, his chin in the palm of his hand, gazing lovingly at his girlfriend.

Y/n laughed, “When I think power couple, I think the Obamas. What even defines a power couple?"

"I would say us both being on Forbes 30 under 30 and raising millions of dollars for charity makes us a power couple, my love."

"You looked so hot in that tuxedo, by the way,” Y/n looked at Tom, squeezing his knee below the table.

“We just watched a video that showed all these amazing achievements we've both made, and you're focused on a two second clip of me in a tux?"

"I’m sorry I can't help it!”

"Is that the one from Ballon d’Or?” He grinned when she nodded. “I think it’s somewhere in my wardrobe.”

“Oh I know exactly where it is,” she whispers under her breath. Swiping to the last video.

If anyone needed proof that Tom and Y/n were in love, they didn’t need to look further than the last video. Or the pair’s reaction to it. Clips from Y/n’s Instagram stories interspersed with red carpet videos and times that the paparazzi had caught them holding hands. Even if it was arguably an invasion of privacy, Tom couldn’t help but find it adorable to see a compilation of their public life together. If only the internet had access to the private moments they shared; Twitter would explode.

“What’s this video called?” Y/n asked the crew at large.

“Proof Y/n and Tom are secretly married, part 2.”

“That’s the title?” Y/n cocked her eyebrow. The crew member who responded to her nodded.

“So there’s a part one that we need to watch,” Tom said, making a mental note to YouTube it later.

Y/n looked into the camera lens, “just for the record, we’re not secretly married, nor are we secretly engaged.” She held up her left hand, tapping on her ring-less finger. She looked over at her boyfriend, encouraging him to add something to dispel the rumours.

“Y/n’s right. Sorry guys but we’re not married or engaged.” Tom nodded, taking Y/n’s hand and intertwining their fingers. “Yet!” Tom added, “I’m working on it, lads.”

“Unbelievable,” Y/n sighed, but she couldn’t stop the butterflies from erupting in her stomach.

The internet was about to have a field day.

This Week in BL - Things are Very Mixed

May 2023 Wk 1

Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs. Organized by which ones (in each category) I’m enjoying most.

Ongoing Series - Thai

Step By Step (Thai Tues WeTV & Gaga) ep 3 of 10 (MDL still says 12, but Gaga still says 10) - The subs are janky on YT, so you might want to watch this on Gaga. This is such a good show, it just feels so much more authentic to an office environment and first job then anything else I’ve seen in BL. Now that might be because it has western source material, or it might be because it is actually kind of old-fashioned (it’s been years since I worked as an office grunt). While the authenticity may be a little triggering for some, I love how much tension it adds to the leads’ dynamic and the quality of the narrative. I also really love the brothers’ relationship, now that we got to see them on screen together for a bit. Walk of shame was great! Oh look, character development, how novel. This is what Boss & Babe should have been. Not sold on the sides tho it’s nice to see a faen fatal as the main character in a dynamic for a change.

La Pluie (Sat iQIYI) ep 2 of 10 - This one is really grabbing me by the throat. I love the starter concepts, what a fantastic twist on a meet cute not to mention soulmates. I hope we spend more time with the vet and his coworkers, they seem awesome. And another surprise, the guy we think is being set up to be the brother’s love interest is now clearly interested in the wrong brother. I love the trope subversions going on with this show!

Our Skyy 2 (The Eclipse) eps 5-6 - FirstKhao are just ridiculously cute as a couple. Honestly? Aye just seems like he would be a lot of work as a lover. I’m not as wild about the premise of this installment, with the film clips and stuff (as I was of NlMG’s installment). And then, the singing. Oh well, you can’t have everything. I gotta say, First is a great crier, although I don’t think this story warranted his tears. In the end? My feelings on this installment were mixed, the movie storyline didn’t grab me and the birthday storyline seems a touch mean spirited, but I do think it adds substantially to the original Eclipse rather than feeling superfluous or slapdash like many of the other Our Skyys. So I’m going to go with 8/10

Future (Thai Sun YouTube & Gaga) ep 6fin - More of the same (which I like) but I’m glad it ended. Didn’t need to get dragged out. Such drama over nothing. In the end? This is just a soft sweet cotton candy fluff piece about a younger boy who pursues an older boy and then manufactures silly gay drama. Nothing wrong with that. But I don’t think this style of BL really appeals to a very large market share. Will I rewatch it? Sure. Will anyone else? Nope. 7/10 RECOMMENDED WITH RESERVATIONS.

Pastsenger (Thai Weds Gaga) ep 9 of 12 eps - And now the amnesia trope. I’m not a fan. This is such a pulp. At least it ends next week? Groan, no 3 more eps.

A Boss and a Babe (Fri YouTube) ep 10 of 12 - one thing I realize I like about this main couple’s dynamic is that the seme/uke seems earned, where it didn’t in Echante. I don’t have much else to say except it’s crazy when a narrative betrays its characters like this and why to poor ForceBook keep having to deal with it?

The Promise (Thai Weds YT & WeTV) ep 7 of 10 - Honestly, who wears an all white outfit to play around with coffee beans in the countryside? I LOVE the faen fatal, he’s so good, courageous, honest, and morally sound. He even gives his rival fair warning. Nan should totally go out with him. I made awwww noises over the faen fatal! I NEVER do that. I guess Phu was right all along? Nan won’t date a friend. Ultimate friend zone. Well shit. This show. Ouch.

House of Stars (Thai Mon iQIYI) ep 1 of ?? - There seems a slight horror element which I do not like and it’s also confusingly like Melrose Place or something. Everyone is sleeping with, or wants to be sleeping with everyone else. It’s kinda hilarious to watch something where all the actors are supposed to be good actors but it’s a pulp so they just really aren’t. So far my main issue is I can’t keep them all straight in my head (pun intended).

Tin Tam Jai (Tues Gaga) ep 10fin - There is very little I enjoyed about this show. The entirely forgotten side dishes gave us 5 min of excellent high heat and then vanished, but otherwise this show sucked in the wrong way. It’s forgettable and I intend to do just that. 5/10

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Our Dining Table AKA Bokura no Shokutaku (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 5 of 10 - The way these two are very quietly yet thoroughly falling in love with each other is executed with such grace and subtlety that only Japan could have handed this out. It’s not even “falling” it’s more like sliding gradually into love.

Love Mate (Korea Thurs Viki) eps 1-2 of 8 - Launched very much openly gay so that’s fun. Also very much bubble too, so no one around them cares. So: Seo is a player jaded older uke (fun character type we don’t see often) and his seme is a romantic if arrogant weirdo. Can you see my hands clapping? Combative trope activation! Absurdity. How fun. Also workplace harassment but hayho that’s BL for ya. (Also a nonBL Kdrama specialty.) ALSO whole office in on seme-stalker’s side? All in all, it’s odd and questionable, but I’m into it. Why am I like this?

Happy Merry Ending (Korea Thurs Gaga) eps 3-4 of 8 - OK I’m not super into the main couple but I love all of the surrounding characters. The overly protective best friend with a crush is giving bad advice but it’s understandable and he’s super hot so I forgive him. And the idol character is a wonderful addition, he is my baby. Also, evil ex is v evil.

Vian the series (Vietnam YT ) - I thought this was gonna be Tiktok only but apparently it’s showing up on YT too. It’s cute! My cat boyfriend (which is more common that it should be) and this seems to be Vietnam’s installment (we got Thailand’s last year). The boy playing the cat is the prettiest human being on the planet. Fight me. No fight him, get scratched. Serious tho. Holy hairballs. Look I don’t really like vertical content but I am watching this for him. Meow, indeed.

The Day I Loved You (Vietnam YouTube) eps 2-3 of ? - BL Express’s first impressions mirror mine. Niks is so flipping cute. Rich kid is so into him, so is bestie. So much gay macho posturing. So much bi fear and het shame. But also it’s killer to get a femme main characters who isn’t being mocked. Dancing trope continues (better than singing together). It is kinda Heartstopper goes Pinoy BL. Honestly, I prefer kids a little drawings to terrible sound effects. This is better than it or we have any right to expect.

Naked Dinner AKA Zenra Meshi (Japan Fri Gaga) ep 4 of 12 - There is a lot I like about this drama, except the weird central conceit of the naked dining. But the romance part is cute, if a tad simplistic.

My Story (Pinoy Sat YouTube) ep 4 of 10 - chukchuk went missing and so did my interest in this show. I’m DNFing this one.

Dancing together, the baby sub-trope of 2023. (The Day I Love You)

It’s Airing But ...

Love Syndrome (Thai Sat WeTV) stopped at ep 2 of 12 - I’m just not into any aspect of it (except Lee Long Shi) - saving to binge if the end is solid.

Venus in the Sky (Sat YouTube) pilot/tester?) 0 of 10 - not entirely sure what’s up with this one distribution-wise, but the pilot was classic university-set pulp. I hope it happens because the leads are cute with good chemsitry and I thought it was fun. However, this pilot holds together as its own little short too.

Stormy Honeymoon (Vietnam) - meh

In Case You Missed It

Actors Bas Suradej (2 Moons etc...) and Copter Panuwat (so much BL) have left Starhunter. So Copter and Kimmon will part ways as an on-screen pair (RIP KimCop). Their upcoming show Boy Never Smiles will still air, but will likely be their last together. (source)

Restart After Come Back Home (highly recommended), Athlete, Capture Lover, Tkumi-kun, His the movie (recommended) and also a bunch of the dark stuff like Forbidden Love and Shortest Distance are all leaving Gagaoolala soon. So watch ‘em while you can. A few are also on Viki, but many will be difficult to get hold of without Gaga.

I finally finished the second season of The Reason Why He Fell in Love with Me (Japan Gaga) and gave it a 4/10. I just don’t like or recommend any of the installments of this franchise, but if I had to pick, it’s season one.

Make a Wish finished at 6 eps. Stars Fluke Natouch (OhmFluke UWMA etc...) & Judo (The Miracle Of Teddy Bear) in medical-fantasy about a doctor who sees ghosts and a deity who resides in a Bodhi tree that earns merits whenever he fulfills a wish. Based on a y-novel by Sammon (Manner of Death, Triage). I will watch it if I get hold of it, but for now... who knows how it went?

5/27 Takumi-kun Series 6: Nagai Nagai Monogatari no Hajimari no Asa (Japan) - NO ONE ASKED FOR THIS (but that has never stopped Japan before) and no, I have no idea where to get it, why would I ????? (Say it with me everyone: Oh Japan, must you?)

1. Were you named after anyone?

….kind of. My first name (Katherine) is the English version of Catalina, and my dad’s favorite place in the world is Santa Catalina Island. So that was the inspiration. Also my middle name, Tess, was the name of my parents’ german shepherd they had in college.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Watching this scene from Einstein and Eddington. It’s a minute thirty clip and it makes me bawl like a baby. Damn your acting talents David!

3. Do you have kids?

Nope.

4. What sports do you play/have you played?

None really at the moment but in the past I’ve run xc and track, been on the swim team, done basketball, softball, and soccer, and raced triathlons. I’d say running and swimming are the ones I’ve carried over the most to adulthood.

5. Do you use sarcasm?

Naaaahhhhhhhh (she said sarcastically).

6. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Personality/height.

7. What’s your eye color?

Green.

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings all the way. I’m a giant SAP.

9. Any talents?

Singing, trivia, and song recognition. Also preetttttyyy good with faces.

Reading, swimming, singing, sailing, photography, birding. Occasionally writing.

Yes, 5 dogs, 2 horses, and about 40 chickens. It’s a madhouse lol.

Baareelllyyyy 5’3”. I could have been a hobbit extra in the LOTR movies but NOT in the hobbit movies lol (they had to scale down to match martin freeman’s height).

14. Favorite subject in school?

History, English, Social Studies, that sort of stuff.

15. Dream job?

Pretty similar to what I do now (field ornithologist), only year round instead of seasonally for more financial stability.

Gareth twisted and turned in the driver's seat of his car, sweating from the summer heat as he searched anxiously for his car keys. He’d literally just had them in his hands and now they were nowhere to be found. The heat made him anxious, and driving made him anxious, he wanted to go inside and lay on the floor and not have to think about a single thing ever again but he couldn’t. He had to find his damn car keys and drive to work. The only thing keeping him remotely sane was the knowledge that he’d see you when his shift was over. You’d promised to be waiting for him when he came home and he knew you would be - that is if he could find his fucking keys. Finally, his fingers brushed warm metal between the seats and he pulled, the keys clanking against the car's consul as he sighed. Today had been too long and it wasn’t even noon yet.

His shift at the theater was slow, it being a Tuesday. The summer heat had everyone at home, with no interest in driving anywhere even if there was AC. He swept stale popcorn and wiped down chairs for what felt like years until the sound of his watch beeping made him jump. 8pm, thirty minutes left, time to close up shop. He quickly locked up, checked the registers and slid the drawers into the safe, practically sprinting to the parking lot. He smoked on the ride home, windows rolled down and music blaring. Tomorrow was his off day and he was free, for twenty four hours, headed home to his sweet girl in their new apartment.

As he swung through the front door, you jumped up from the kitchen table, dropping the magazine in your hands. He smiled at your grin and the paper clippings littered around you - a stack of coupons and a grocery list neatly arranged in the middle of the chaos.

“Hi baby,” you said in a sing song voice, tip toeing to him and wrapping your arms around his neck. “I missed you today.”

He kissed you softly, “I missed you too.”

“How was work?” You mumbled, still holding him close to you, nuzzling your face into his shirt and wrinkling your nose at the synthetic butter smell.

“Boring,” he laughed, “only had two people come in today for License to Drive.”

“I can’t believe they’d rather watch that than Killer Klowns,” you shake your head, making him laugh again. “Imagine Chrissy Cunningham’s reaction to Jojo.”

He shakes his head, curls sticking to his forehead from sweat and chuckles, “I still can’t believe Jason took her to see Bloodsport. I had three people complain about her screaming so loud.” He huffed.

You roll your eyes, smirking at the picture.

“Oh!” You exclaim, “I almost forgot, your mom called this afternoon. She needs us to watch Rosie on Saturday so she can pick Sarah up from summer camp.”

Gareth groaned. He loves his little sisters but he couldn’t wait until Rosie was old enough to stay home alone for a few hours. She’s 8, and Sarah is 16 now, so she usually stayed with her. It had been easier when he didn’t work long hours, before you had gotten your job as a waitress, but you both made it work. Greg, his step-dad, traveled for business now so he wasn’t home as often as he used to be. His mom, who also worked, relied on the two of you for extra help with him being gone. It was decent parenting practice for two young twenty something’s, but he hated having less time with you under any kind of circumstances.

You gave him a knowing look, and planted a kiss on his cheek. “It won’t be for more than a few hours, my love. We’ll still have all night to ourselves.” You winked, and he blushed.

Pulling you into his arms he murmured, “Still not enough time with you,” planting kisses on your forehead. “Need all of it.”

You giggle, playfully grabbing his face and pulling him to you till your noses touched.

“And what will you do if that’s not possible, hmm?”

He played along, looking serious. “Well I’ll just have to make sure I use every moment then.”

He grabbed your hands, taking control of your limbs and walked you back to the table. Clumsily he grabs the scissors you’d been using and comically tries to cut one out while still holding your hand. “Looks like we have to finish cutting these out together.”

You laugh loudly, swatting him away as he feigns being offended.

“My beautiful girlfriend doesn’t want my help?” He throws a hand to his chest, raising his eyebrows. “Rude.”

“So rude, I know.” You giggle, running a hand through his hair. He leans into it, the touch of your fingers feeling divine. The blood flow goes from his cheeks to his pants as you scratch his scalp, tugging a little at his hair and kissing his jaw.

“I have an idea.” You say, smiling up at him.

“And what’s that?” He replies, eyes closed as he continues to let you play with his hair.

“Since we’re savoring every minute, why doesn’t Gareth the Great join me in the shower?” You ask, a mischievous look on your face.

“That sounds like a great idea.” He smiles back, eyes open now, and scoops you into his arms carrying you towards the bathroom.

The tiny apartment isn’t much, but you both have managed to make it homey and personal. The street lamps outside shine through the cheap blinds onto a worn out sofa (compliments of the local thrift store). Dried flowers adorn the tv stand, Gareth’s VHS collection organized neatly against the wall on wire shelves next to a stereo and stacks of tapes. There are unframed posters littering the walls, along with Polaroids and drug store prints of family photos. The bedroom is littered with clothes, your waitress uniform on the back of a chair and your old desk piled with papers and notebooks. The kitchen walls hold mugs and pans, pancake mix and macaroni boxes tucked away on the counter with mail and old receipts. The bathroom, where Gareth places you on the tiny counter near the sink, is a faded cream color. One of your paintings (a landscape of lovers lake) and mismatched towels hang next to the old tub, now doubling as a shower. He pulls the pink plastic curtain to the side, letting the water run warm before turning on the shower head and reaching for you.

You lean into him, slightly sleepy as you relax, letting him gently pull off your worn out band shirt and pajama shorts. You tug away his uniform, sliding off the counter and gathering the crumpled clothes, tossing them into a hamper in the hall. He’s watching you lazily, eyes roaming over your naked body. That’s one thing about him that’s never changed. He’s seen you naked hundreds of times, I mean you’ve been dating for two years now, but he still looks at you the same way he did the first time. A sweet smile covers his face, his pretty hazel eyes roaming over you as he pulls you in for another kiss.

They order their drinks and start the conversations.

Quietly, they walk inside.

"Just water is good. Thanks."

Victoria grabs a glass from the cupboard & fills it with ice and water. She goes over to meet Austin on the couch & hands the glass to him.

After taking a sip, "Tonight was really nice. Thanks for coming out with me." Austin says, setting the glass on the table in front of him.

"Thanks for inviting me. I had fun."

"Me too."

Austin looks deeply into Victoria's eyes, then to her lips. He leans in, pressing his lips to hers.

Victoria responds and kisses back. She wraps his arms around his neck, while deepening the kiss.

Movies I watched this week (Year 4, first week!)

How shall I open 2024 [since 'The Zone of Interest' is not streaming yet]?

It has to be something special; A re-watch of René Laloux's psychedelic allegory Fantastic Planet?

Mysterious mythology, straight out of the pages of The Voynich manuscript [and which directly inspired the Codex Seraphinianus, another unfathomable world-building vision]. The suffering humans, used as pets by the giant blue "Draags", spiritually advanced, and still cruel to their tiny Oms ("hommes"). Excellent!'

Apparently, the predictably-told story is based on interesting chapter from 18 century Danish history.

Reminds me of the book 'Millions of cats' [which incidentally was released to the public domain on the exact same day I thought of it!].

5/10 from me, mostly for innovation.

Space Ghost Coast to Coast #33: “Woody Allen's Fall Project” | December 25, 1996 | S03E15

What makes Space Ghost Space Ghost is episodes like this. “Woody Allen's Fall Project”, hosted by James Kirkconnell (itself a reference to Story Book House) is the clip-show that is gratuitously NOT a clip show, but a re-enactment show. Here we are treated to live-action re-enactments of several Space Ghost shows, including Bobcat, Girlie Show, Freak Show, Hungry, and Banjo. We also have a number of Space Ghost staffers playing various roles in live-action. Andy Merrill plays Space Ghost, which he often did on Cartoon Planet in little wacky live-action segments, (as well as in the original 1993 pilot, voice-only).

As guests we have PA Sean Gooden playing Bobcat Goldthwait (nails it), Don Kennedy as Bill Manspeaker (hilariously doesn't nail it, but is wonderful), Talent Coordinator Isabel Gonzalez as Fran Drescher (she's also the babe on the bus in Jacksonville, according to the DVD commentary! MY LOVE), and a MYSTERIOUS fella by the name of Rex Bullion as Weird Al Yankovick. Everyone is great in their own way. Also you got Dave Willis doing a very weird voice for Zorak (and Raymond!) and Scott Lipe as Michael Stipe, hey that rhymes, I assume!

This one runs 18 minutes, and it sounds like they wanted to make an attempt to cut it down to make time and they were going to cut Isabel Gonzalez's segments and nobody had the heart to tell her so they just didn't cut anything. That rules, because she is beautiful, and I wish she were on camera at all times. I wish she was Zorak and I was Raymond if you know what I mean.

I nearly forgot to point this out, which is IMPORTANT, and the commentary track also almost forgets to point this out: the reason this episode exists is that it’s a parody of E! Network’s O.J. Simpson murder trial re-enactments. They mention that they got a CHEER! and not a JEER! in Cheers and Jeers for TV Guide. I actually think I read that at the time because we subscribed to TV Guide and I remember reading it really regularly at this time. ANYWAY, E! couldn’t film the trial so they just re-enacted the proceedings based on court transcripts. They did the same thing with Michael Jackson in the early 2000s and cast Jimmy Kimmel as Jay Leno. Why we don’t have a deluxe DVD box set of both trial re-enactments I’ll never know. Okay! That's it! I hope this week wasn't total dogshit but I actually enjoyed doing this! So when we get done with 2006 we'll charge into Space Ghost season 4, which is 24 episodes! SHEESH! That's so much more! And if all goes to plan, we'll kick off 2006 Adult Swim TONIGHT at the usual time (11:30PM Eastern, 8:30PM Pacific; cuz a long time ago I decided regular posts should publish at 11:30PM Pacific but didn't know my blog was somehow set to Eastern, so everything publishes at 8:30PM my time. My RED TV Schedule

To all who are Taylor Swift fans, we all know that RED TV is coming on November 12th. And there’s not only one event that’s happening. THERE’S THREE. In lieu of this most awaited release, I am sharing how I am going to splurge myself on the roller coaster ride that is RED:

a. All Too Well The Short Film

Starring Sadie Sink, Dylan O’Brien, and Taylor Swift.

We don’t know how “short” this short film is. But I would like to welcome the RED TV with some sort of a trailer because I want to experience this album like it’s a movie. I want it to be real and emotional just like how I experienced RED firsthand. And this short film is so perfect! Thank you, T.S. for making that happen!

b. Vault Tracks from RED TV

I want to play the Vault Tracks first because the vault tracks to me is like the never-before-seen clips in a movie or series or it can also be the opening soundtrack of a climax in a movie or series. These songs would have been part of the RED album but was rejected. So naturally, I am curious to listen to which tracks didn’t make the cut. And besides, it’s new T.S. songs!

I want to watch ATW The Short Film again while I listen to All Too Well (10-minute version) simultaneously just in case I missed any easter eggs because our girl loves to do that. Yes, I will listen to All Too Well twice because I don’t think I will ever tire from listening to that song. I do believe, however, it will reveal hidden parts of me that has not been there before. I want to do that in a way I would watch a song with a trailer. Then I want to go full dive on the song after watching the short film to see where the song cuts. Yeah, I’m specific like that. I do wish Taylor, at some point will release a longer film! I don’t mind if it’s also a 10-minute video and perhaps adding 13 more seconds in because that’s her trademark number.

e. Club90s Taylor Swift Night: RED Edition

After listening to the vault tracks and RED TV, I would like to end my track by track listening with a BANG and that is by watching her biggest hits on TV while I sing, dance, or even cry at the same time. This is also an excuse to listen at the actual performance if there are any note changes on the songs.

~~Day 2 of Lucy’s testimony

“Ms. Heartfilia, on the night of the kidnapping please start from the moment you got off the train and were walking back towards your apartment building.”

“O-Okay.” Lucy closed her eyes as she took a deep breath. ‘Just tell the truth, let the prosecutor direct her answers...’ She opened her eyes as she began. “We had a system in place, so whenever I was out alone, I would stay on the phone with someone. That night, Natsu was on the other end. He talked and kept me company. I was maybe halfway to the apartment building when I heard something behind me, but before I could turn to see what it was, I felt a hand wrap around my face and a cloth placed over my mouth. I-I screamed, and I heard Touka’s voice, and Natsu screaming over the phone but everything went black as I passed out. It happened really fast.”

“What was the next thing you remember?”

“I woke up in an apartment that I didn’t recognize. I remember being dizzy, my head hurt, and my eyes were all blurry. My... m-my hands and feet were tied up, and I was lying on my side on the floor.” Lucy stopped again to take another deep breath before continuing. “That’s when I heard noises like drawers opening and closing. I couldn’t see where it was coming from at first, but I guess my mind told me it must be Touka. So, my survival instincts kicked in at that moment. I stayed still, pretending to be asleep, but I cracked my eyes open to see what I could.”

“And what could you see?”

“I s-saw, like a couch, and a wall, and it was covered with photographs of Natsu— just completely covered. And I could see there was all kinds of them, close ups, far shots, old stuff, new ones, clippings... but they weren’t just Natsu. I could see a lot of me and our friends too, and that really creeped me out cause I knew she was watching us, but just, you know, to see it— that was really hard. I tried so hard to stay focused on what was happening. I just kept thinking, I’ve gotta find a way out of there.”

Lucy took the jury through that night, step, by step just as she’d been coached by the prosecutor. The closer she got to the main event, the slower she moved through each detail. They covered all the visuals she saw from her vantage point, inching their way to the moment Touka had begun her physical assault. Lucy’s hands sat in her lap, but they constantly opened and closed into fists to disburse the building anxieties in a physical way. It was a technique her therapist had shown her specifically to use during the trial. Thank goodness for all the preparations by her therapist, because recalling these memories were to re-live them and that was all extremely difficult.

“You testified that Ms. Shiromajyo did not know you were already awake. So, how did she wake you up?”

Lucy took a deep breath knowing this was the hardest part, but the prosecutor needed her to tell the tale. “She kicked me really hard in the back which made me roll over to try and defend, but before I could she stomped me in the stomach, and just kept kicking me over and over...” Lucy’s body trembled as she relieved the event in her mind. “I-I couldn’t do much because I was tied up tightly, so I kept rolling to the side and curling up in a ball. I didn’t wanna scream, because... b-because I thought that’s what she wanted to hear, and I wasn’t gonna give her that satisfaction. But I think it only made her angrier.”

“Was she saying anything through this attack?”

“Y-Yes...” Lucy’s voice cracked. “S-She was calling me a slut and a bitch and blamed me for the pain she was feeling. Said if only I’d walked away like she’d warned me to, I wouldn’t be in this situation. So, I snapped back that hurting me wouldn’t make Natsu love her. That killing me...” Lucy sucked in a breath, “wasn’t worth going to jail over. I thought— that maybe if I try to reason with her, get her to see this wouldn’t change anything, she’d stop, but— it didn’t faze her.” Lucy shivered at how cold Touka’s eyes had been at the moment. “She said, “if I can’t have him, neither will you.” That, “don’t you think I know that?” But she didn’t care. This woman was going to kill me, and she said it with a straight face. That’s when I knew she was serious, and I started preparing myself to die.”

Eventually, Lucy couldn’t even look in Natsu’s direction. She could see the utter turmoil on his face, and it only added to her anxiety. So, instead, she looked at the jury members themselves. That was another tactic the prosecutor instructed Lucy to do. ‘Talk to them,’ he’d explained. ‘Think of this as your opportunity to tell your story. Let them see all the emotions you were feeling then, or feeling now, because they need to know how much Touka’s actions have affected you.’ So, that’s what Lucy did her best to do, scanning just above their heads. She still couldn’t make eye contact because just like Natsu, listening to her story brought a lot of pain to many of their faces.

With tears trickling down, Lucy continued giving a blow by blow account leading up to Natsu’s arrival, and what happened before the authorities arrived. How she got the cut on her neck and other injuries, and how they were fighting against Touka as hard as they could. Tears trickled slowly down her cheeks as she spoke, but she didn’t stop talking. She told them how Natsu begged Touka to leave her alone, even willing to give up his life for it, but once Natsu admitted that he loved her, that really set Touka off. “That— T-That not how I wanted to find out he loved me!” Lucy screamed through the tears. “That’s not how anyone should find that out! And she took that beautiful thing away from me!” Lucy slumped in her chair, trying to stop the heavy sobs wracking her body. Saying it out loud, the anger was seething inside of her because she hadn’t expected to have this reaction. Maybe she’d buried it for far too long?

“Ms. Heartfilia, do you need a break?”

“N-No,” she wiped away the sloppy tears. “I can finish this. I-I need to keep going.”

“Take a moment to compose yourself,” the judge explained, “then continue.”

Lucy nodded to the judge in acknowledgment, then after a long deep exhale, continued to tell the jury how she’d watched as Natsu defended her and what was going through her mind as she saw him stabbed. “All the blood...” she whimpered, fighting the urge to bawl again. “There was so much blood from Natsu’s injuries. I started freaking out because I didn’t wanna die and I didn’t wanna watch my boyfriend killed! So, I-I grabbed the closest object which was a hardcover book— her school yearbook and just started swinging as hard as I could despite my wrists being tied. I was just running on adrenaline at the point knowing it had to be either her or us, and I’m sorry, but I did not want to die.”

At that stage of the testimony, Lucy took the jury through the police’s arrival from her perspective. What she’d observed, and how they finished subduing Touka. “Once they took her into custody, I think I was just in shock. Frankly, I don’t even know how I managed to stay focused through the whole ordeal, I just remember thinking if this woman was gonna kill me, I’d make it as difficult as possible.” Finally, Lucy covered the timeline for the jury between the scene and going to the hospital for treatment, including the panic attack and his she had to be sedated.

“And how has this affected you since the incident?”

“Objection! Leading! This has no relevance to the case!” The defense attorney argued to the judge. “The witnesses state of mind after the fact could be contributed to multiple factors and there’s no way to attribute it solely to my client or the events revolves around my client.”

The prosecutor countered, arguing that Lucy’s continued reactions to the events over the ensuing months was relevant to the case.

But the judge only ruled partially in the States favor. “Re-word you question counselor to the event itself.”

“Ms. Heartfilia, please provide any specific factors you’ve suffered relating to your experiences with Ms. Shiromajyo.”

“W-Well, my panic attacks and nightmares are because of what happened. I keep seeing and reliving things like a movie replaying in my mind. Especially the attack, I literally wake up screaming because of bloody dreams, and this causes me problems, like I don’t get enough sleep, I couldn’t focus on school. Just the fear of leaving my apartment has kept me from doing anything really for months. I’m scared of being kidnapped, even though logically I know Touka is in jail, it doesn’t just make those feelings go away. I wish it did— Heaven help me, I wish it would just go away, but it doesn’t.”

“So, you still fear Ms. Shiromajyo?”

Lucy stiffened and nodded her head vehemently as she shrunk down in the chair. “Yes.”

“Thank you, no further questions at this time. We reserve the right to recall the witness.”

“Cross?” The judge asked the defense, to which they also responded with reserve the right to recall. “Then Ms. Heartfilia, you may leave the stand, but be available in case of being recalled.”

Lucy nodded quietly at the judge, then slipped out of the courtroom. The bailiff lead her to a back room, along with her therapist so she couldn’t hear what was going on. Once in the safety of the room, she broke down. All the emotions she’d tampered down to get through the testimony, rushed out. She’d shed tears during her testimony, but now she was free to sob openly.

“You did great,” the therapist cooed, soothing the young woman. She tightened her hug, “that’s good, just let it all out.”

A knock at the door came, as Natsu and Levy were allowed inside. Natsu immediately went to his girlfriend and took over for the therapist. “Shh,” he spoke softly and smoothed his hand against her hair. “You did amazing babe!”

“Lu, you did great up there! We’re really proud of you!”

“Thanks, guys,” Lucy sniffled into Natsu’s chest. She was proud of getting through it without having a break down, but the nagging knowledge of this wasn’t over yet, still loomed large. The defense was surely going to recall her at some stage, and even if the attorney didn’t, the prosecutor could, plus just the waiting sucked! “Can we please go home? I-I just wanna go home.”

A Day in Riverdale

A/N: my first cheryl fic! I’m super excited about it, and i had so much fun writing it! I may be writing some more riverdale fics, we shall see! And hopefully, I’ll be back to writing natasha soon (I am hoping to write the next chapter of your red-headed mentor tomorrow). Anywho, I hope you guys like this!

Promoting: Fanfic Night, tomorrow! There’s a theme for this one, fav author’s edition! And of course, movie night, Friday at 4pm eastern! We’re watching Code 8.

The door to Pop’s chocolate shop swung open, the sound of the bell grabbing your attention. You looked up, a smile overtaking your face as Cheryl walked in, flipping her long, curled hair over her shoulder.

“Morning, babe,” she called in a sing-song voice.

“Morning, baby,” you answered, eyeing her perfect red lips. She swooped down to briefly press her lips to yours, before sliding into the booth across from you.

“You look amazing today,” you murmured, your eyes looking over her.

“I know,” she smiled. “But thank you, Y/N/N.”

“Maybe we should skip class today,” you suggested cheekily.

“And mess up my perfect attendance record? No, thank you.”

You pouted, to which Cheryl couldn’t help but smile softly.

“I promise, mon petit amour, we can do something fun after school,” she cooed. “Now, can we order, I’m starving?”

The two of you finished your breakfast and headed to school. You were a bit early, but there was a pep rally later, and Cheryl wanted to practice a bit with the Vixens.

Your hand held hers tightly as you walked into the building, greeting some of your friends.

“Cheryl!” Jughead called. Your girlfriend sighed and rolled her eyes.

“What do you want, hobo?” Cheryl pursed her lips. You gave her hand a light squeeze, causing her to soften her gaze, just slightly.

“I’m writing an expose on -”

“Don’t care,” Cheryl interrupted, a smug smile on her face. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I have somewhere to be.”

“Sorry,” you mouthed back to Jughead as you continued your way through the hallway with Cheryl. You walked with her to the locker room with no other interruptions, and stopped right outside the door.

“You’re going to be amazing, I can’t wait to see you later,” you murmured, pulling her slowly closer.

“You’ll be my shining light in the bleachers,” Cheryl replied, closing the gap between you two in a sweet kiss.

“I’ll see you later, my love,” she added, before turning and entering the locker room. You watched her disappear, a smile playing at your lips, before you turned and headed back down the hallway, on a mission to find Jughead.

“Jughead!” you called upon spotting him talking to Betty.

“What’s up, Y/N?”

“That expose you’re working on, what’s it about?” You asked.

“Maple syrup, the Blossom family business,” he answered. “But I doubt Cheryl will help.”

“I’ll talk to her,” you offered. He thought it over for a moment before nodding.

“Yeah, that’d be great. Thanks, Y/N.”

“Of course,” you smiled, before saying goodbye and heading to your locker.

“Morning Y/N/N,” Veronica greeted.

“Hey Ronnie,” you replied enthusiastically. “You’re not practicing with the rest of the team?”

“No,” she shook her head. “I have some other business to attend to this morning.”

“Oh?” You asked.

“With Archie,” she laughed lightly. You smirked, and then a certain red-haired bulldog caught your eye down the hallway.

“Well, business calls,” you nodded towards Archie. Veronica gripped your arm lightly before sending you a smile and turning away. You shut your locker and headed towards your first class.

The rest of the day passed slowly. You were much too eager for the pep rally to focus on anything. And Veronica had spread the word that La Bonne Nuit was going to be hosting a little celebration that evening, for the Vixens. And you were going to make sure Cheryl was the honored guest.

You sat impatiently in your seat, waiting for the bell to ring any minute. When it finally did, Archie met you in the hall, and you made your way towards the gym along with the rest of the student body.

“It’s gonna be great,” Archie commented as you took your seats.

“I know, Cheryl’s had the team practicing for weeks.”

“They all deserve the celebration tonight at the speakeasy.”

“They do,” you agreed. Your attention was pulled away by Principal Weatherby beginning the pep rally and introducing the Vixens. You and Archie shared a grin as both of your girlfriends walked out in their cheerleading uniforms, searching for you two in the crowd and giving you a wink. You blew a kiss for Cheryl, and the smile on her face told you that she saw it.

The music started and you cheered the Vixens on, along with the rest of the school. Their dance was flawless, it was clear how hard they’d been working. When they’d finished, they were given a standing ovation, and you cheered until your throat hurt.

The Vixens took their seats and Cheryl stepped up to the podium to give a little speech, as was her duty as Student Body President.

“Good afternoon students of Riverdale High! As your Student Body President, I want to welcome you to the pep rally! After a perfect performance by the Vixens, led by moi, it’s time to officially kick off spirit week! Let’s show some school spirit and pride, starting with a celebration tonight! Invitation only, you know who you are. Go Bulldogs!”

With that, Cheryl left the podium, with a signature hair flip as she walked towards the bleachers, towards you. You’d saved her a seat of course, just as Archie had saved one for Veronica, and Jughead for Betty.

“Baby! Did you like our performance and my speech?” Cheryl asked as she sat down next to you, her hand falling to your thigh.

“Of course I did, you and the Vixens were amazing,” you replied, brushing your lips to her cheek.

“Thank you my love. I’m excited to celebrate with you tonight,” she murmured, her eyes wide and gazing into yours lovingly.

“Me too.”

“Does this lipstick look okay?” You asked after applying the dark color to your lips. Cheryl tilted her head and turned to give you her full attention.

“You look incredible, that color is perfect on you. I’d kiss you but I’m worried my cherry red and your dark purple won’t mix,” Cheryl laughed lightly.

“Maybe you can help take it off later,” you suggested, before scrunching up your face. “Okay, that was lame.”

“It was adorable. You’re adorable,” she cooed. “You may not have a way with words, Y/N/N, but I love you all the same.”

“I love you too, Cheryl.”

“Shall we head to La Bonne Nuit? If we left now, we’d be making a timely late entrance.”

You nodded, standing from your seat at the vanity and then holding your hand out for your girlfriend, helping her up.

The two of you would be making quite the entrance, clad in the highest of high heels, dresses with slits up the sides and low necklines, hair curled to perfection, and makeup done to the most dramatic level. You’d be the stars of the evening, that’s for sure.

Cheryl drove up to the valet, getting out of the car and tossing the keys to one of the boys who was working. She reached back for your hand, leading you into Pop’s. You were immediately greeted by Veronica.

“Ladies, may I say that you look stunning? Right this way,” Veronica smiled, leading you towards the back, past the long line of others waiting to enter the speakeasy.

“The royal treatment,” Cheryl commented to you, smirking slightly. She deserved it, she deserved the world. You smiled softly, gazing at her with pure adoration.

And then you were greeted by loud music as you walked down the steps into the dimly lit speakeasy, your grip on Cheryl’s hand tightening ever so slightly. You weren’t a huge fan of crowded, dark spaces, and she knew as much.

“We can leave at anytime,” Cheryl murmured, her eyes focused on you, making sure you understood. You nodded, though you had no intentions of leaving for a long time. This night was a celebration, a time to have fun with your friends and girlfriend.

“Your usual table is ready for you, and your drinks should be ready momentarily,” Veronica announced. You both thanked her and took a seat in the booth, sitting as close together as you possibly could.

“Tonight is for you,” you murmured, nuzzling your nose against her cheek, before planting a kiss there.

“Tonight is for all of us.”

“Yeah, but it’s for you. You’re the reason this is all happening. You’re an amazing Student Body President and an amazing Captain of the Vixens.”

“I know,” Cheryl smiled. “And you are an amazing girlfriend.”

“An amazing girlfriend who has a surprise for you,” you replied.

“Oh?” Cheryl asked, her perfectly done eyebrows raised questioningly. You hummed, sliding out of the booth.

“I’ll be right back, babe.”

You sauntered over to the bar, feeling Cheryl’s eyes watching you carefully, curious as to what you had in mind.

“Is it time?” Veronica asked. You nodded.

“I’ll get everything going,” Veronica nodded. You thanked her and headed back to your booth. Cheryl raised her eyebrows yet again, but didn’t say anything. You settled back in your seat, leaning against your girlfriend, her hands around your waist.

The projector whirred to life, and it quieted in the speakeasy. Clips began to play, and you heard Cheryl gasp next to you. You’d arranged for each of the River Vixens to to film a small video, in which they spoke to Cheryl, thanking her for being such an amazing captain. Your girlfriend sniffed quietly, and you turned to see her wiping away a few tears. And then your clip came on the screen, and all of Cheryl’s attention focused on that.

You had poured your heart out in that video, desperate for Cheryl to know just how amazing she was. And you’d done a good job, that was evident by even a few others shedding some tears.

But then Cheryl was removing her hands from around you, sliding out of the booth, and quickly running up the stairs and out of the building. You sat shocked for a moment, before taking off after her.

“Cheryl!?” You exclaimed, catching your girlfriend after she’d run out of La Bonne Nuit. She didn’t answer, her back still turned to you as she ventured further away, into the street.

“Cheryl! It’s pouring!” You shouted after her, jogging in your dress to catch up. You grabbed her arm gently, spinning her around so that she was facing you.

“What’s wrong?” You asked softly upon seeing the tears falling down her cheeks. Her gaze shifted downward, looking anywhere but at you. You sighed through your nose, gently cupping her chin and forcing it upwards until her eyes met yours.

“I just” - a shiver ran through her- “I don’t want to lose you,” she cried softly. You furrowed your brows.

“Lose me? Cheryl, I’m yours, always. Why do you think you’re going to lose me?”

“I don’t deserve-“

“Stop,” you interrupted. “You do deserve me. You’re incredible, smart, confident, you’re the Cheryl Blossom, and I am lucky enough to receive your love.”

Your heart lifted as a smile threatened to overtake her features.

“You love me?” She asked, her voice quiet and gentle.

“Of course I do,” you murmured, one of yours hands falling to her waist, and the other tucking her soaked hair behind her ear. Her gaze flickered to your lips, and you took the opportunity to slam your lips into hers. Her hands entangled themselves in your hair, and you couldn’t help but forget the cold rain falling around you.

The world seemed to stop as the kiss continued, the party at La Bonne Nuit long forgotten. The way her hands gently tugged on your hair, the feel of her bare skin under her cutout dress- nothing seemed real or important anymore, besides her.

When a shiver ran through you, Cheryl pulled away, concern written on her face.

“Oh, my love, it’s pouring. We should get inside.”

“I’d spend forever out in the rain with you,” you breathed, eyes still focused on her. Cheryl’s gaze went soft as she took in your words, though her determination still won.

“And I with you,” she whispered, pressing a light kiss to the tip of your nose. “But we should get warm and dry. Why don’t I drive us home?”
