Hello beautiful people,

So today I can’t seem to focus, and I desperately need to get school work done. It’s not even difficult but I just....can’t seem to find the energy to care. *sigh*. I suck.

Ever have so much work to do that you just stay in bed and write on tumblr instead, while simultaneously watching Mean Girls? Cause same, sis. We’re in this together.

I’m currently in my last 3 classes to finish up my degree and I’m trying to rush through them as quick as possible before bebe arrives in December; I know I can do it, but man am I stressed. I’m technically finished my actual degree, but I just needed 3 more classes to finish up my remaining credits. I have a BA in Political Science and Native Studies from the University of Alberta  (woooh) but I’m not sure what I’m going to use it for. Probably as a coffee coaster (: I love my degree, but it’s sad to say that jobs are hard to come by for a poli sci and native studies major; I can get a government job though. Thankfully the Canadian government is desperately looking to employ Indigenous women (like myself) so that they look better. Oh well, I’ll take it!

Why am I so light for an aboriginal woman you may ask? Because I’m biracial and my father is as white as they come haha. Half Irish/Icelandic, and half Cree (no wonder I like alcohol too much hey?) it’s quite the mix. But I’m very proud of my heritage on both sides, I wouldn’t wish it any other way.

On top of procrastinating my homework, I’m also procrastinating baby work. I took a virtual breastfeeding/pumping course on zoom the other night (s/o to covid19) and I basically learned that everyone in my class had their nurseries all set up and ready to go, as well as their hospital bags packed and ready.

FUCK.

Am I supposed to have this ready?! I don’t even know WHAT you’re supposed to pack in a hospital bag. Does anyone? Youtube will know. I’ll start there. I should probably sign up for a labour class as well, surely dsomeone there can help? I also don’t have a car seat or a stroller yet which I should get on asap. Baby month is over on the 30th and with it, the sales! *stresses more* I should really get on that. There’s just so much out there I don’t know what to pick! Someone please help me. SOS. Mom overboard. Pray for me.

Well I might as well try and get one task done today, I’m now having a cup of half/half coffee out of my bunny mug so I can’t let that go to waste.

Hoping everyone is having a blessed day! We got a wonderful surprise last night when my sister-in-law called to let me know that baby Shyanne’s car seat/stroller will be here soon! The big day is getting closer and I can definitely tell that nesting has started to kick in! (Less than 8 weeks to go!) We did finally accomplish some work in the ‘school room’ aka the ‘pool room’... It’s not 100% but so much better than it was. We still have some boxes to sort through and put away... I will be getting a desk soon so I can set up my ‘office area’. There are still some boxes of school stuff in my room that I need to go through too as well as quite a few boxes that need to go out to the shed at some point. This house is starting to feel like home now though which makes my heart happy! I did order a couple more of those shelves and they should be here tomorrow... not exactly sure where I’m putting them yet but we will figure it out when they get here. Today is definitely a day of rest as I’m so sore and swollen everywhere. I finally had to give in and take off my rings... something I don’t remember having to do before but they are safe on a necklace for now. Now I’m gonna fix some lunch and probably get everyone to lay down for some quiet time so I can have a little nap.
