#one piece#portgas d ace#sabo#monkey d luffy#it’s 5 am and I do not have the time to be spending on procrastination doodles but that is neither here nor there#ft. my headcanons for their outfits as kiddos but not really because I think this is pretty close to canon#oversized jacket for sabo because I refuse to believe he has worn the same clothes after being a runaway for at least a few years#like kids grow so fast and I can see undersized jacket for that as well but I feel like undersized would just be uncomfy and restricting#straw hat is definitely too big for 7 year old luffy so I hc it goes around his neck more often than not#or sabo or ace gets annoyed at luffy for having his eyes blocked all the time while they’re fighting each other or hunting so they#eventually get luffy to wear it around his neck more#also you can’t convince me that the fuzz on luffy’s shorts is like… actual fur#I think it’s more like very frayed edges of denim if you know what I mean#ace with baggy pants because it’s what he deserves. baggy pants ftw#also probably bigger pockets for his pickpocketing#sabo complains about noble clothes like girls complain about small pockets#‘what are they even supposed to hold. why are they so tight. this is just them trying to get us to buy expensive bags’

cassie sandsmark star jorts from issue #23 of yj98 you have always been famous to me
(before pic + additional photos and unnecessary ramblings under the cut)
I made these jorts in 22 hours over the course of 3 days! pure willpower via my love for cassie sandsmark because I am a total novice in sewing and i am still not very good at it. (i really just combined various tutorials and improvised on measurements and then regretted improvising measurements later on).
I thrifted these jeans last year for cassie vibes (even though I had already made her star-spangled red bellbottoms at that point) and wasn't a fan of how they fit + I couldn't figure out how to style them. I enjoyed sewing in the panels to flare them out and then everything else (cargo pockets and sewing in stars) was hell <3
the pockets are not placed well (nor are they particularly well-made), the hem is uneven, the stars are quite janky (and I think I stitched on too many), I probably stabbed my fingers a million times, and I am so in love with them
#these jorts are stained with the blood of my incapabilities but its okay because theyre already red#what should i conquer next in the cassie sandsmark wardrobe#as of current i have made: her GIRL necklace + her red star earrings + her wonder girl shirt (crop t-shirt version)#+ as aforementioned- her red bellbottoms#all of the above aside from the red bellbottoms were made for my halloween costume last year#the red bellbottoms were made last summer just bc i already had red bellbottoms that i never wore#none of the above really cycle through my everyday wardrobe#but i'm hoping these shorts will be an exception!#(i also have a very similar fit to what she wears in issue 22 of yj98- light green polo + dark blue baggy jeans)#(will probably just make an oversized ww shirt to go with my lightwash jorts for a baby cassie look.)#(should i be looking for a denim vest too... i can put a wonder woman patch on it...)#cassie sandsmark#wonder girl#cassandra sandsmark#young justice#yj98#young justice comics#wonder woman#dc#dc comics#soo much rambling happening in this post. sorry guys i've spent the last 3 days in hyperfocus mode and now i need release

If you're interested in textile art, please understand it will not end at one of the arts. Interested in weaving? There are many different types, so now you're learning about the culture these styles come from, and with that comes learning about their clothing. Now you're interested in learning how to sew clothing, and much of it has some kind of embroidery. So you do research and see how beautiful it is, and different types of embroidery exist. You decide to learn embroidery and get curious about lace because often they're seen together.
Prepare for a journey and get real good at organizing. You'll soon lose space because of supplies and tools.
#words from the artist#textile artist#textiles#i made macrame jewelry for over 20 years and burned out but i'm also in a family of quilters and found something new. now i make quilts#and have a huge interest in learning thread painting and embroidery. most importantly i want to learn how to make and repair my#own clothing. do you know how difficult it is to find clothing thag fits a curvy woman barely over five feet tall? apparently being short#means being skinny. i'm not nor are most short folks i know. plus i can never find anything with big bold bright prints or shorts not made#of denim and at knee-length but also baggy. the “shorts” i have are shorts on people over 5'6“. they're capris on me. the only way i will#ever have clothes i love is to make them myself. i also intend to decorate current and future clothing with embroidery.#and also learn sashiko and apply it to mending and handquilting. my right hand and wrist are what's stopping me from learning#knit or crochet and several other things. yup physical disabilities are why i haven't taken those on.
