“May I be permitted to say a few words? I am an Edinburgh graduate (MA 1975) who studied Persian, Arabic & Islamic History under William Montgomery Watt & Laurence Elwell Sutton, 2 of Britain ‘s great Middle East experts. I later went on to do a PhD at Cambridge & to teach Arabic & Islamic Studies at Newcastle University . Naturally, I am the author of several books & 100s of articles in this field.
I say all that to show that I am well informed in Middle Eastern affairs & that, for that reason, I am shocked & disheartened for a simple reason: there is not & has never been a system of apartheid in Israel. That is not my opinion, that is fact that can be tested against reality should anyone choose to visit Israel.
Let me spell this out, since I have the impression that many students are absolutely clueless in matters concerning Israel, & that they are, in all likelihood, the victims of extremely biased propaganda coming from the anti-Israel lobby.
Hating Israel
Being anti-Israel is not in itself objectionable. But I’m not talking about ordinary criticism of Israel . I’m speaking of a hatred that permits itself no boundaries in the lies & myths it pours out. Thus, Israel is repeatedly referred to as a “Nazi” state. In what sense is this true, even as a metaphor? Where are the Israeli concentration camps? The einzatsgruppen? The SS? The Nuremberg Laws?
None of these things nor anything remotely resembling them exists in Israel, precisely because the Jews, more than anyone on earth, understand what Nazism stood for. It is claimed that there has been an Israeli Holocaust in Gaza (or elsewhere). Where? When?
No honest historian would treat that claim with anything but the contempt. But calling Jews Nazis and saying they have committed a Holocaust is a way to subvert historical fact. Likewise apartheid.
No Apartheid
For apartheid to exist, there would have to be a situation that closely resembled how things were in South Africa under the apartheid regime. Unfortunately for those who believe this, a day in any part of Israel would be enough to show how ridiculous this is.
The most obvious focus for apartheid would be the country’s 20% Arab population. Under Israeli law, Arab Israelis have exactly the same rights as Jews or anyone else; Muslims have the same rights as Jews or Christians; Baha’is, severely persecuted in Iran, flourish in Israel, where they have their world center; Ahmadi Muslims, severely persecuted in Pakistan & elsewhere, are kept safe by Israel; or anyone else; the holy places of all religions are protected by Israeli law.
Free Arab Israelis
Arabs form 20% of the university population (an exact echo of their percentage in the general population). In Iran , the Bahai’s (the largest religious minority) are forbidden to study in any university or to run their own universities: why aren’t your members boycotting Iran ?
Arabs in Israel can go anywhere they want, unlike blacks in apartheid South Africa. They use public transport, they eat in restaurants, they go to swimming pools, they use libraries, they go to cinemas alongside Jews — something no blacks were able to do in South Africa.
Israeli hospitals not only treat Jews & Arabs, they also treat Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank. On the same wards, in the same operating theatres.
Women’s Rights
In Israel, women have the same rights as men: there is no gender apartheid. Gay men & women face no restrictions, and Palestinian gays oftn escape into Israel, knowing they may be killed at home.
It seems bizarre to me that LGBT groups call for a boycott of Israel & say nothing about countries like Iran, where gay men are hanged or stoned to death. That illustrates a mindset that beggars belief.
Intelligent students thinking it’s better to be silent about regimes that kill gay people, but good to condemn the only country in the Middle East that rescues and protects gay people. Is that supposed to be a sick joke?
(…)
I do not object to well-documented criticism of Israel. I do object when supposedly intelligent people single the Jewish state out above states that are horrific in their treatment of their populations.
(…)
Israeli citizens, Jews & Arabs alike, do not rebel (though they are free to protest). Yet Edinburgh students mount no demonstrations & call for no boycotts against Libya , Bahrain , Saudi Arabia , Yemen , & Iran. They prefer to make false accusations against one of the world’s freest countries, the only country in the Middle East that has taken in Darfur refugees, the only country in the ME that gives refuge to gay men & women, the only country in the ME that protects the Bahai’s…. Need I go on?
(…)
Your generation has a duty to ensure that the perennial racism of anti-Semitism never sets down roots among you. Today, however, there are clear signs that it has done so and is putting down more.”

In what the Baha'i International Community is calling an "escalating pattern of persecution against the Baha’is in Iran," 39 more incidents targeting the community have been reported in recent days, affecting mostly women.
Ten women Baha’is, mostly young, were arrested while 26 additional individuals, 16 of whom were also women, have been sentenced to a total of 126 years in prison.
The 10 Baha’i women were arrested in Isfahan, in central Iran, earlier this week. Three other Baha’is were arrested in Yazd and three more have had court hearings and await sentencing.
The arrests took place after homes were raided and the personal property of several individuals was confiscated, including electronics, books, cash and gold. More than 10 agents were reported to have raided the home of one of the women during her arrest.
“Every one of the Baha’i individuals arrested, and whose homes were raided by the Iranian government, indeed every Baha’i in Iran, has a lifelong story of persecution which has affected every facet of their lives. These stories are a chilling testament to decades of heartless persecution against an entire community, only for their beliefs,” said Simin Fahandej, Representative of the Baha’i International Community to the United Nations in Geneva. “And as we see women in Iran targeted in general, Baha’i women face even greater persecution, not only as women but also as Baha’is, further demonstrating how, today, all Iranians face persecution and discrimination only for daring to stand up for justice and equality.”
“The international community must hold the Iranian government accountable for its human rights violations,” Fahandej said. The 10 women arrested this week have committed no crimes. The dozens sentenced to years in prison are also innocent. All they want is to serve their society. But instead of their contributions being welcomed, they are put behind bars, and the Iranian government deprives its entire society of some of the most capable individuals in its society.”
The latest arrests and prison sentences follow more than a year of intensified attacks on Iran’s Baha’i community. Dozens of other Baha’is have been either arrested, tried, summoned to begin prison sentences, barred from higher education or earning a livelihood over recent months. And in August the Baha’i International Community reported that 180 Baha’is had been targeted—including one 90-year-old man, Jamaloddin Khanjani, who was detained and interrogated for two weeks.
Two other Baha’i women, Mahvash Sabet and Fariba Kamalabadi—who along with Khanjani and four other Baha’is spent a decade in prison from 2008 to 2018—were re-arrested in July 2022 and are now each serving a second 10-year jail term.

Alin ang dapat mauna, kasal or bahay?
Hi @ameownymous!
Generally speaking, this depends on a person's priorities, beliefs, resources, and situation in life. Both choices naturally have pros and cons.
Applying the context to Gerald and me, I think it's more apt to choose "bahay" first, considering the circumstances we have now.
Same-sex unions are still not legal in our country and although there are churches that officiate holy unions, it's still not recognized by our state. So, this type of union would only be essential for us if we intend to migrate on a different country where same-sex marriage is recognized.
And the main reason why I'd choose "bahay" or at least living together first is because insurance companies usually recognize partners regardless of sex. Like if we apply the common law partner rule, I can name Gerald as my beneficiary for my life insurance. Or if we've lived together for at least one year, I can make him my dependent on my HMO—and he can actually supersede everyone else in my family.
And... That's it. There are a lot of things I'd like to say, but that's the gist.

Philippines' Own Jeepney; An Art Beyond Western Definitions
Tumblr media
Roaming around the busy roads of the city, reigning supreme with its massive roaring engines and various eye-catching composition, what comes across is the Philippine Jeepney or what was once called, “The Undisputed King of the Road”. Jeepneys, which originated in our home country, symbolize Filipinos’ natural creativity and ingenuity when it comes to integration in forming realistic structures, obtained from the prolific visionaries of our imagination.
Just like a typical vehicle, it is also comprised of machinery essential for long drives; But what makes it stand out from the others is its head-turning feature of being a colorful art-on-wheels vehicle. Jeepney art integrates the "art of the color” and the "art of the accessory", applied to a simple galvanized metal or polished, gleaming metal canvas shell. The use of airbrush spray, stickers, spray paint, or even on-hand paint brush is utilized to create different styles and outlines of art. When it comes to its accessories, the majority of it are hand-picked by the owners, and depending on their personal desires, they would choose to locate where it would be placed. As you have noticed, there are jeepneys with flags at the front, winged-shape stainless metal shell, mini statues at the tip of its front, colorful lights, and many other accessories that are possible to be incorporated. Moreover, the theme of the overall look of a particular jeepney also varies depending on the owner’s choice of preferences. It could be a theme related to their families, religious beliefs, entertainment, culture, minimalism, or even a very creative incorporation of colors and designs to make it look more lively and attractive to the public. Jeepneys are all designed differently, thus, it really showcases the vast creativity of Filipinos when it comes to art making.
Tumblr media
Aside from its physical structure and features, its representational value coming from our own Filipino culture and tradition is also being reflected. Just like in the portrayal of the “bahay-kubo”, jeepneys are also built without seat divisions for people to come in and openly interact with each other. Filipinos’ trait of openly getting along with others or in tagalog, “pakikisama”, is highly observed especially when it comes to the passing of each and every individual fare to jeepney drivers. Its main purpose of traveling from point to point in order to help people arrive at their respective destinations also emphasizes the natural helpful trait of Filipinos, and can be comparable to the act of “bayanihan”. In addition, the overall physical appearance of jeepneys, which can be generalized as lively, colorful, and eye-catching, extensively shows Filipinos’ sense of being “full of life”. Its appearance makes the city a livelier place to live in, which deeply reflects Filipinos’ deep affection for our own energetic and spirited culture.
Tumblr media
A Jeepney is indeed an art defined beyond Western. An art that showcased the vast creativity and innovativeness of Filipinos. A work of art that is defined by our true ingenuity, inspired by the Philippines’ own culture, beliefs, and tradition. From its aesthetical value, and artistic presentation, down to its symbolism and representational value, it is built admirably, especially with the incorporation of what our country really reflects. For more than 70 years of the country’s struggles, adversity, changes, and advancements, this cultural symbol has always been on our main roads serving its purpose of helping the masses and giving life to the city. It certainly proves its title of being the one and only undisputed “King of the Road”.
Tumblr media
The perception of art’s definition constantly changes through time. There will always be no definite answer to art’s true definition, thus, it will just continuously evolve as the world advance. In the case of its context in the Philippines and in the 21st century, there is still an ongoing discourse and why’s that is due to the fact that Filipinos have a sense of being essentially intact to the worldview, beliefs, and values of art. We don’t just adapt to the set of standards made by Westerners. Because of our natural creativity and innovativeness, different forms of art are being evolved through time, now what is known as the Philippine contemporary arts, which is even beyond the West’s definition.
Now how we can contribute to the ongoing discourse of art’s context is to give emphasis on these creativities, follow its growth, spread it, and expand it. It is also important to have a multi-view approach to the art itself, especially to its underlying message and portrayals. It will also mean a great help if people of the modern era engage with expounding such creativities, as well as practice participating in art makings. And finally, we should learn to give importance to artists’ creative process as this can bring inspiration to aspiring ones that will most likely continue the ongoing act of defining and evolving art.

I went to the bahai center to ask them about a speaker at unitarian universalist church who told us after cancer treatment she finds cow eating the enemy and nuclear power the solution to all harm....
So i explained to me uranium mining cannot ever be an environmental point....it's the belief indigenous peoples have a much longer history and these deposits existed in space for a reason or Rachel Carson and should not have been disturbed
And we observe beef eating because the Midwest was grasslands history before before the uranium bombs of the Great depression and the earth quakes of the dust bowl
So the buffalo migration was disturbed so the indigenous peoples were like well give them this cattle if it's proven effective for the french and that beef economics tend to stabilize relations with some indigenous groups
I was a white doll and it's the symmetry of face sought in milk drinking
I explained I was Lutheran then later Catholic and learning the existential stuff was later explained to me as lutheran or what Luther was...
So observing meat eating is seen as appropriate sacrifice and sense of service....I'm really rich and these are all my beautiful bulls instead of those poor ailing people must be my people also so I'm going to blood sacrifice this animal so my people are not sacrificed
Anyway I was admitting to eating cow there are important enzymes for certain genetic dispositions especially as seen in Vietnam veterans kids....that if you take away beef ritual they can't digest certain medications and these women if called Hindus go completely and violently insane
If they starve they become really really lethal new York immigrant types that helter skelter at people
The speaker said she was religious studies so I was like I'm sorry but I feel bad lorilai biernacki could not just be a steak waitress....calling a frat girl that important will maybe leave her in hell...violence is the worst thing that can ever happen to someone
There appears to be an important treaty to observe between attempting to call North American ethnicity Asian.....because if you finally give them the formality of a steak dinner their just so much more modest and humble and funny
The bahai center told me it's a divisive comment so don't focus on any type of pragmatics it's divisive and not good
In Temecula their position is the indigenous peoples were cattle companies...and this has to do with forestation....like the great north american oak....
I went to the Korean monument on learning to be free from the Japanese from the United States.....I guess when I think about company waitress the blue economy or commercial fishing cannot satisfy many energetic desires and if the Japanese keep energizing my neighborhood like they have legislated it turned into a trash land fill then it's kill the cow and eat it
I have a headache because the Japanese called my neighborhood a land fill so it's kill the cow and eat it for land to use
Statin for heart disease caused myopathy so kill the cow and eat it to be free from Japanese heart care
The fruit trees for cultivation if cattle that romantic period in film
Natural gas would be way better then nuclear...to cure niche ideation
Women should be more like men to have status citizenships.....if your a man you can be Hindus and be really clean that way and observe very low fat body types....I feel like anne frank personally if people won't observe pork...
Transgressive...
Biernacki as violent....that would be Foucault on the inverse people who use gender to create their following.....and the following also starts hallucinating in persecutory ways and starving themselves to death also....I'm sorry but thats neo nazish concentration
That's not Hindus that's demonology....
The women who attacked me in the Temecula project somewhat alluded to humiliations surrounding a mexican ideal person and physical beauty
The standards of Mexican ideal cosmetic forms was in some way very humiliating for them to be around
I think the cu boulder professors were called weird in some way and people peed on or I think really raped can't anymore find any compassion for people here
People should not wish criminality on common women....
I don't speak German to understand this China formation of puppet in art....but apparently puppet is very humiliating for them and sending them to die of him is preferable to running away from there
I think more drug dealing then mentalism.....it can appear to be about mentals....but gwas is millions and millions of people to pharmaceutical....
They get in trouble for drug dealing and these humiliations till its they will kill your population if it won't stop being so unified in obeisance
She wanted to know if I was polish at the bahai center so I said no I'm from Wisconsin but a famous basilica in Milwaukee Wisconsin was polish or east European so it's immigration concerns tended to become a public idea...that's true there are genetic comparisons between the upper Midwest and eastern bloc
Your mother is busy play outside at something
This is the new structure
Doppelganger my east European relations are not bothered by that
I told them the shelter is good for me though it's a lot of people and that's actually safe feeling.....
Disaster anxiety....the drug dealers on the street I think are scary though....
Their really compulsive that someone do drugs for them and it's really aggressive sales I haven't seen or remembered in like 20 years or more
I get frightened to be too alone...and the shelter is at least diverse and people are honest about how they feel so
I told them the goal of the program is that someone or something professional is concerned that I react to circumstances so resistively.....
Becoming to decisive that for my life to go on that I have to be homeless normal people have decided is abnormal psychology I guess
Its just so I realize that I can do the things people do and live I get horrible phobias of ever being
So I have to start by going to the DMV and understanding the real 🆔 process....which is important because trying to work without legislation involved is a huge drama problem of potential injury
Then I have to find a legal group to get my court date to start my real 🆔 process my passport was like from 2000 and my last licence from like 2007 so I don't know how to find my documentation anymore or how to go about applying without a court ordering my records transfered
The police have a system that if I give them my name their computers just draw up my files and that's kind of addictive to civil unrest that that isn't always done
Who are these people that need anything from me

“One of the institutions of Filipino society is to show a spontaneous and sincere effort to ease the burden of grief of the afflicted... “
Aparece 1960: 165. (Encyclopedia of Philippine Folk Beliefs and Customs, Volume 1 by Fr. Francisco Demetrio, S.J.)
I'm creating an illustration inspired by postcards for the upcoming comic series, "The Scale of A Hero." The illustration depicts the concept of "bayanihan" or "dayong" in a pre-colonial setting. Historically, this has been the classic illustration, which remains the traditional representation of the concept. The three people on the left side are characters from my comic series.
FACTS AND INFO ABOUT DAYONG:
1. The idea of dayong, or bayanihan, extends beyond the image of individuals carrying nipa huts (payags or bahay kubos). Dayong involves two or more people helping each other by working together to carry loads. It also encompasses activities that involve gatherings for a shared purpose.
2. Bayanihan is derived from the word "bayan" meaning nation, town, or community. The term bayanihan itself means “being in a bayan”, referring to the spirit of communal unity, work, and cooperation to achieve a particular goal.
3. Dayong is also called Layong, Dagyaw, Tiklos (pintakasi), in the Bisayan languages. Bayanihan can also be translated as tulongan or damayan.
4. In Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore, this practice is known as "gotong royong." The term 'gotong-royong' is derived from the Malay language, with 'gotong' meaning carrying and 'royong' meaning together.
P.S. Dibuho ni means "Drawn or designed by". Hunyo means "June".

Discovering Delhi’s Delights: Day 3 Adventures with Geniefie Trip Planner
Tumblr media
DAY 3 DELHI EXPLORATION: SOUTH DELHI
Round off your time in the city with a relaxing day in Day 3 Delhi exoloration, South Delhi. It’s undoubtedly been an action-packed trip to the city so far, so if you’re craving a more low-key day, South Delhi is the neighbourhood for you!
This area of Delhi is a chilled-out, green, and peaceful neighbourhood, with little hassle or noise to contend with. It’s a great spot to simply head out for a walk, wander around one of the parks, people-watch on the streets, and check out one of the local cafes.
There’s also some pretty cool attractions to check out.
Kick off your explorations of this neighbourhood with an amble around the Lotus Temple, a Sydney Opera House-esque Baháʼí Place of Worship that’s open to anyone, regardless of their religious beliefs. There are just seven Bahai temples found in the world, and the white marble Lotus Temple is the only one in Asia. It’s a soothing spot, with nine turquoise pools and lush gardens to wander around.
Next, take an Uber over to Qutub Minar. A UNESCO World Heritage site, this towering minaret reaches a height of 73 metres and is surrounded by so many interesting ruins and structures.
Don’t skip this attraction! It’s far away from everywhere else in the city, but so worth venturing over to see it.
In the afternoon, if you’re not yet exhausted, head to the PVR Directors Cut cinema to watch a Bollywood movie. This is a luxury cinema in South Delhi, with comfortable chairs that recline, blankets, pillows, air purifiers, and waiters to bring meals to your seat.
WHERE TO STAY IN DELHI
Delhi is a sprawling city and there are so many options for where to stay.
I recommend opting for accommodation in South Delhi. As I’ve mentioned a couple of times already, it’s the calmer, cleaner area of the city, and you’ll be staying in a leafy suburb with less noise and a safer vibe.
I stayed in this incredible guesthouse, which absolutely made my stay in Delhi so much better. The welcoming owner did so much for us, from showing us around the local night market to driving us to tourist attractions, introducing us to his favourite breakfast spot, and even making a dozen phone calls when my SIM card wouldn’t activate. It’s one of the best guesthouses I’ve ever stayed in.
HOW TO GET AROUND DELHI
It’s so easy and so inexpensive.
You’ll likely arrive in the city just before sunrise, as that’s when most international flights seem to land, so you might be put off by tackling the public transport system. Don’t be!
I took the metro from Delhi Airport to our guesthouse in South Delhi and it couldn’t have been easier. In the early morning, it’s clean, quiet, calm, and uncrowded. There’s even a women’s-only carriage on all of the trains for all of my solo women out there.
For getting around the city, I recommend using a mix of Uber and rickshaws. Both are so easy to use and everywhere, so you’ll never have to wait long. I recommend always checking the price on Uber first, so that you have a maximum price for your journey with which to negotiate with the rickshaw drivers. It’s super-inexpensive! I paid just $7 for an hour-long Uber ride across Delhi. When it’s that affordable, there’s no reason not to use it.
WHEN’S THE BEST TIME TO VISIT DELHI?
For the majority of my India posts, you’re going to notice that I recommend visiting in winter, but for Delhi, I think early-or-late-winter would be the best time to visit.
At this time of year, you’re going to avoid the dense fog that rolls in every morning, there won’t be as much smog and pollution in the air, and the temperatures will still be manageable. I’d aim for October/November or February/March. Definitely avoid visiting immediately after Diwali, when the air pollution is always horrendous.
I’d also recommend double-checking when all of the attractions are open. The Lotus Temple is closed, for example, every Monday.
WHAT ABOUT DELHI BELLY, THO?
Delhi Belly: my biggest fear. I was absolutely convinced I would get food poisoning in India, because doesn’t it happen to everyone?
And yet, it didn’t. Despite eating pretty much anywhere that was serving up delicious-looking food, neither I nor my boyfriend suffered from food poisoning. I believe three things helped keep us safe:
Going vegetarian! Most of the locals in India are vegetarian — the country has the lowest amount of meat consumption in the world — so we switched over to a meat-free lifestyle, too. Note that I didn’t say plant-based, because you’re also going to want to avoid most fruits and vegetables while you’re in the country, too — especially if they’re uncooked or peeled.
Hand sanitiser! Much of what gets written off as food poisoning in India is general contamination from touching surfaces with bacteria on it, and then not washing your hands and touching your mouth. I used hand sanitiser on an hourly basis and took extra care not to touch my face. I also used the hand sanitiser to sterilise any utensils at restaurants, as they could have been washed with dirty tap water.
Pudin Hara! I’m a total convert to Pudin Hara — peppermint oil capsules from India — and take them every time my stomach feels a little unsettled. You can buy them from any pharmacy when you get to India, but you can also pick them up from Amazon. I took like, a hundred tablets with me, as I took a capsule with every single meal. I fully plan on keeping a large supply of these with me whenever I travel, as they were so life-changingly great at settling my stomach. An added bonus was the deliciously minty burps that overpowered the scent of curry that was emanating from my body.
AND THAT WAS DELHI!
So, my third day exploring Delhi with Geniefie Trip Planner was an unforgettable experience that left me completely enchanted by the city. Despite my initial apprehensions, Delhi’s vibrant energy, rich history, and diverse culture captivated me from the moment I arrived. From wandering through ancient monuments to indulging in the city’s culinary delights, every moment was filled with excitement and wonder. As I bid farewell to Delhi, I couldn’t help but reflect on the countless memories made and the newfound appreciation I had for this incredible city. Delhi has truly left an indelible mark on my heart, and I wholeheartedly encourage others to explore its charms and give it the chance it deserves.

Having created the world and all that liveth and moveth therein, He, through the direct operation of His unconstrained and sovereign Will, chose to confer upon man the unique distinction and capacity to know Him and to love Him—a capacity that must needs be regarded as the generating impulse and the primary purpose underlying the whole of creation…. Upon the inmost reality of each and every created thing He hath shed the light of one of His names, and made it a recipient of the glory of one of His attributes. Upon the reality of man, however, He hath focused the radiance of all of His names and attributes, and made it a mirror of His own Self. Alone of all created things man hath been singled out for so great a favor, so enduring a bounty. – Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, p. 65.The above quote from Baha'u'llah, is my guiding light t know where are the dangerous faults in both programing and use of AI. If AI becomes the powerful manifestation humanity's Dart Vader tendencies and spirit, they we are rapidly approaching our doom's days of STAR WARS where the Dart has the upper hand with the creation and use of AI. The Purpose of the one true God, exalted be His glory, in revealing Himself unto men is to lay bare those gems that lie hidden within the mine of their true and inmost selves. That the diverse communions of the earth, and the manifold systems of religious belief, should never be allowed to foster the feelings of animosity among men, is, in this Day, of the essence of the Faith of God and His Religion. These principles and laws, these firmly-established and mighty systems, have proceeded from one Source, and are the rays of one Light. That they differ one from another is to be attributed to the varying requirements of the ages in which they were promulgated. – Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, p. 287.    As to the patriotic prejudice, this is also due to absolute ignorance, for the surface of the earth is one native land. Everyone can live in any spot on the terrestrial globe. Therefore all the world is man’s birthplace. These boundaries and outlets have been devised by man. In the creation, such boundaries and outlets were not assigned. Europe is one continent, Asia is one continent, Africa is one continent, Australia is one continent, but some of the souls, from personal motives and selfish interests, have divided each one of these continents and considered a certain part as their own country. God has set up no frontier between France and Germany; they are continuous. Yea, in the first centuries, selfish souls, for the promotion of their own interests, have assigned boundaries and outlets and have, day by day, attached more importance to these, until this led to intense enmity, bloodshed and rapacity in subsequent centuries. In the same way this will continue indefinitely, and if this conception of patriotism remains limited within a certain circle, it will be the primary cause of the world’s destruction. No wise and just person will acknowledge these imaginary distinctions. Every limited area which we call our native country we regard as our motherland, whereas the terrestrial globe is the motherland of all, and not any restricted area. In short, for a few days we live on this earth and eventually we are buried in it, it is our eternal tomb. Is it worthwhile that we should engage in bloodshed and tear one another to pieces for this eternal tomb? Nay, far from it, neither is God pleased with such conduct nor would any sane man approve of it. – Abdu’l-Baha, Selections from the Writings of Abdu’l-Baha, pp. 299-300.As a Bahai I am excited to see how more and more people of knowledge and influence in academia and religious circles are addressing topics which are beautifully  and uniquely been elaborated in the Baha'i Holy Text. This discussion is a good model for what we hope to do when we talk about social discourse.

Heya.
I’d like to state that I would certainly be a disappointment as a guru or spiritual practitioner. If you are Christian and wish to be more open Baha’i people learn from all world religions and are Christian similar to druidic practice. If I was Christian that would be where I would be if even just for the please toss my body in a hole at my house and be done with it... strange and legal funeral, only and specifically for Bahai I think. A Klingon rite haha. She, a Baha’i, was my best friend at 17 when I left the nest; spent 1-2 years smoking and drinking coffee all night at the Denny’s, she formed more of my current beliefs than did the first 14 years of my life as LDS and she has also influenced me later in life. Helped me become slightly less naive. She has a mosquito tattoo maybe because the existence of a entity as thoroughly irritating parasitic and useless says something about god and reality, it’s seems maybe anti-Daoism, she would ask as if you really feel kinship to Trump who has absolutely no human value and yet supposedly is just another us in a different washing machine at another time. Fierce human being and honestly a harder hitter than me spiritually. Has a deaf child which has given me a curiosity towards sense disabled people I've never been able to entertain. She is a writer/teacher hardcore punk. My wife in some other life where I didn’t leave rural Oregon. (Maybe, but definitely first soulmate)
Religion/spiritual studies follow definitely skip-able just leaving access if anyone wants to know.
I have an affinity to Shinto because it’s warm bubbly paganism without any specific carnal or violence worship. Modern Shinto is for me hayao miyasaki on the positives and mushishi on the destructive, it’s acceptable stories for children to learn how to coexist in a ecosystem and the scientist bits of me approve and there’s no doctrine which is why I am openly recommending it as it is entirely non hostile and about coexistence. Shinto does believe one obvious principle that Kami pervades all things like us in that radishes are essential of the same stuff. This feels like what I learned from shaman type journeys.
I fibbed before when I said I blame objects I did that specifically to elicit a response in opposition as I want you to be on the side of your stuff as you should want to protect sacred things and have that state of mind. That rare use of false manipulation was slightly premeditated, but it is a unusual thing for me and it was done intuitively. I like to believe stuff can have magic in it. I think the guru/teacher archetype is hard wired in all of us but my relationship to that part of me is not one trained to nor would recommend to others but for fun and enjoyment of being aliveness.
The original Kino’s Journey is a really interesting combination of Buddhism and what it is to go through living and dying and how to act ethically. Little bit like Starmaker(Olaf Stapleton) or maybe Star Trek but old school. The remake is decent additionally but i stan the original. I dislike the stodgyness of Buddhism and it seems like they washed their historical humanitarian abuse from what they claim is their origin, they also believe that abortion should not be allowed which if you believe that you can be warmer there than I feel about that. I do think they are a good thing for the world in a cognitive and modern compassionate sense. Similar to why I didn’t find to much interest it Aboriginal cultures I’ve gotten to know it’s often a old dude being traditional in a lot of cases. Every tribe is different though right.
I have weird feelings saying it, but I’m much into liberation of bonds and freedom of choice where your choices are within proper ethical standards of harm and kindness and I didn’t really realize it till my 30s how U.S. of an ideal this is. About Buddhism if you didn’t know rebirth doesn’t work the way most external parties believe of Buddhist reincarnation. Death means heaven or hell realms and what is reborn is the continuation of the causation that was your imprint or dharma and following your death that thread is continued by another entity and that is prev/next life connection. A different person. I don’t believe in heaven or hell but just the hum of matter becoming energy becoming matter again but I disbelieve more of my superstitions than I believe. I may discuss random superstitions later who knows but a lot of them are obviously caused by anecdotal patterns. (Synchronicity aka pattern match which the brain excels at)
It seemed necessary to write this, if you want faith or devotional sources I don’t currently practice those intentionally and don’t see it happening. I was into Krishna for a while, but I like worship through what is in my presence in a complete form. I like not knowing; that can be uncomfortable if you are used to faith. I think it’s mystifying and amazing that there are so many mysteries that seem to be agnostic as the only rational principle of access. I just know I’m ruled by magic of emotions and heart and the brain forges through in disregard. Curiosity and convincing yourself to try on belief is something I hope is of wider utility to the human experience. I do not believe doubt is bad for you and I feel no need to apologize if I have created it in you. Repeating the intro I’m not an answer guru nor plan to be I’m just another curious cat.
Safe Journeys

What Is The Religion Of Morocco? A Quick Guide To All Religions In This Country.
Tumblr media
When it comes to the religion of morocco that what is the religion of morocco varies depending on which part of the country you are talking about. However, some popular religions in Morocco include Islam (the official state religion), Christianity (predominantly practiced in southern and eastern Morocco), Judaism (practiced by a small percentage of Moroccan Jews), and the Bahai Faith.
2. The ten official religions in Morocco.
There are ten official religions in Morocco, as designated by the Moroccan Ministry of Justice. These religions are Islam, Judaism, Protestantism, Catholicism, Bahai Faith, Hinduism, Buddhism (Theravada), Baha'i Faith (New Era), Atheism, and Agnosticism. While all Moroccans have some faith in one or more of these systems of belief - irrespective of their actual practice - proselytizing is strictly forbidden by law. This prohibition is enforced vigorously by the authorities; any person found engaging in religious conversion can be subject to a long jail sentence or even execution.
3. Muslims - the majority religion in Morocco.
Muslims are the majority religion of morocco, making up 88.2% of the population as of 2014. This makes Muslims one of the largest religious groups in Morocco, and they have a long history there dating back to pre-Islamic times. Today, Muslims live all across Morocco, but especially in major cities like Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakesh, Tanger, and Tangier. Islam plays an important role in Moroccan culture and society - from legal systems to social customs and more - so it's no surprise that Muslim Moroccans have very strong opinions about their faith! Though tensions between Muslims and non-Muslims do exist on occasion (particularly concerning issues such as Sharia law), most Moroccans view themselves as tolerant people who enjoy sharing their traditions with others. In fact, many Muslims see interfaith dialogue not only as beneficial for everyone involved; it is also seen as an essential part of upholding Muslim values and preserving community cohesion.
4. Christians - present but not dominant.
Christianity is one of the world's major religions, and its followers make up about 2.1% of the global population. But Christianity isn't the only religion out there - in fact, it's not even the majority religion among religious people! There are over 1,500 different religions practiced around the world today, and each has its own set of beliefs and practices.
5. Moroccans of different faiths coexist peacefully.
There is religious diversity in Morocco, with Muslims making up the majority population and Christians accounting for about 10-15% of the population. However, Moroccan Muslims and Christians generally coexist peacefully without discrimination or violence. This is partially due to tolerant Islamic values and Christian beliefs in forgiveness. Additionally, Morocco's cultural traditions emphasizing family unity often help maintain interfaith harmony.
6. Animism and witchcraft are still practiced.
This is a difficult question. There are many cultures in which animism and witchcraft remain integral parts of the faith system, even if they are not considered to be equally legitimate paths to spiritual enlightenment. In some cases, these practices may be viewed as supplements or alternate methods of accessing spiritual power rather than as full-blown forms of spirituality themselves.
7. Traditions and ceremonies vary by region.
In the South, there are a number of traditional celebrations that take place during harvest time. One such event is called "pumpkin picking." During this celebration, families go out into the fields to pick fresh pumpkin seeds. They often enjoy baking pies and other seasonal recipes using these delicious seeds. Other traditions vary by region, but typically involve gift-giving and celebrating with family and friends.
