Daniel Molloy: Do you wear wigs?
Lestat de Lioncourt: No, I do not.
Daniel: Have you worn wigs?
Lestat: Maybe you have a need for them as your hairline recedes, but I was given the gift at a young age, rendering me eternally beautiful. I have no need for wigs with my natural hair as lucious as she is.
Daniel: Will you wear wigs?
Lestat: DID YOU NOT HEAR WHAT I JUST SAID?! Some journalist you are, you do not even LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE INTERVIEWING. I have never worn wigs and I will never wear wigs, because then I would not be able to feel your hands gripping and pulling at my hair while you beg me to spare your life.
Daniel: When will you wear wigs?
Lestat (tearing down the interview set and knocking over cameras while tears build in his eyes): YOU ARE A FOOL AND A FRAUD! Death is too kind a punishment for your insolence, so I will WALK YOU TO ITS THRESHOLD AND LEAVE YOU THERE while I think on how best to make you feel how your IGNORANT QUESTIONS have made ME FEEL

I'm not a huge expert on Chinese history, but I think "Nezha Conquers The Dragon King" MAY reflect the culture/politics in China at the time. It was released three years after the end of the Cultural Revolution, and (at least according to Wikipedia) it was meant to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the PRC. As such, I feel like it might have been a deliberate choice to reframe the Dragon Kings as oppressive monarchs, overthrown by the heroic, rebellious Nezha.
Yeah I'm sure that was a possible case. I didn't talk about it because the post was getting too long and just left it at that and said idk if any historical sources have this version. My parents themselves survived the Cultural Revolution and mentioned that everybody watched this movie cause this was all they got, after years of suffering China was lacking artistic identity and freedom of expression so it was a big influence. Which is probably why this was the version told to me as a child. I have no idea why wikipedia has this version on Nezha's wikipedia page though so I figured maybe there was an actual historical source with this version. I just wanted to be sure cause I'm paranoid like that, I am no authority and never want to make assumptions about whether the version in Nezha Nao Hai is actually documented before. I can only confirm it's not in feng shen bang/feng shen yanyi/investiture of the gods.
