Honestly in my opinion the only options for casting Louella McCoy and by extension LouLou is that the actress should've been indigenous, black, or afro-indigenous.
And yet they cast a white actress to play her, cheapening the parallels and connections the story makes about how oppression hits marginalized groups harder by whitening Districts 11 and 12. Perhaps it is not explicit but still Susanne Collins made those districts who were worse off having more poc in them as opposed to the better off districts like 1,2, and 4. And the racist backlash to the fury of poc fans reminds me of Rue's casting backlash all over again.
Safe to say I'm disappointed but I'm also not pathetic enough to hate on a child so Molly McCann, all the best to you and your career and a long and happy life. However, fuck the movie company and fuck their casting decisions because they decided their need to have as many white people as possible robs us of representation, robs under-represented groups in acting of opportunities and weakens the integrity of a true to life allegory.

Ok so I've recently been seeing people online say that Till wasn't sexually assaulted in the scene at the beginning of Round 6 and they say that Vivinos herself confirmed it.
Do y'all have a source pls so I can fact check this? I'm sure you can understand why I can't take the word of random people on the internet. I keep seeing people say that Vivinos confirmed it on patreon in a pay-walled post but like they never link that post...and I understand that not everyone has patreon but you could like send the link of the post even if you can't access it cause even if I can't open it, knowing that it's a real post would be super helpful.

Since Castlevania Nocturne Season 2 has been released I gotta say it was a fun ride. Many moments in that show are praise-worthy and Castlevania Nocturne abso-fucking-lutely deserves the hype. The thing that makes Castlevania Nocturne so unique and so much more interesting than other vampire shows to me(this is just a personal take) is how worldwide and global it is and how creative they are in incorporating so many diverse cultures and using each culture's mythologies to their advantage.
Typical Vampire stories will be limited to the European world because people had a limited view of what a vampire could be(White European). People forgot that the idea of a blood-sucking creature is one of the most universal concepts in many cultures around the world and how much people can play around with that.
As someone who is a huge mythology nerd myself I love seeing the incorporation of Aztex/Nahua mythology in the character of Olrox and the Haitian Vodou and Yoruba mythology in the character of Annette. Mythologies from Africa and other Black disapora or Creole cultures are often underrepresented. Mythologies of Indigenous peoples(in regards to the Americas) are also widely misused and underrepresented. And Castlevania Nocturne is not only largely respectful but they very masterfully and naturally weave these cultures into the narrative they're telling. Also Drolta with the Egyptian mythology. It's nice to see Black Egyptians represented since people were somehow convinced there's no Black people in Egypt but Egypt is an extremely diverse culture with all kinds of people.
It's just amazing, they get so juicy with it. These cultures are not accessories but active parts of the plot and make each character much more interesting. And don't get me started on how they weaved vampirism in with colonization and how they don't shy away from the trauma of racism and colonization on POC.

Link Click Yingdu was so much fun!!!! I was not prepared for the mindfuckery the show would do to me but now I'm so intrigued about the 3rd season.
Obv Bridon left some open ends that will probably be answered later down the line when they become more relevant. It's a time travel show after all but with so many diverse powers and different character motivations and multiple players manipulating oh my god.
Lu Guang killing Vein...that makes sense and yeah we definitely figured Lu Guang is pretty morally gray and willing to do anything for Cheng Xiaoshi. I just find it heart-wrenching because this is just another sign that Lu Guang can't fathom living without him T_T
Cheng Xiaoshi's mother doing the same thing for Cheng Xiaoshi's father as Lu Guang is doing for him is actually insane. God I love thematic parallels that tear my heart. Also I think she pointed out Lu Guang's interference????? wonder if that's gonna cause trouble for the both of them.
ALSO VEIN'S REAL NAME BEING XIAO WEIYING????????? damn bro you less intimidating now, jk jk i love you still Vein. I'm so curious on why Xia Fei disappeared(and why is Jack(NPC ass) disappearing as well?) maybe to get more answers because clearly Xia Fei cares for Vein in some capacity.
Liu Xiao masterminding in the background oh boy. What are you gonna do hat boy? What are you gonna do...
Cheng Xiaoshi keeping secrets of his own is getting juicier cause now it feels slightly more equal playing field on who in the group got the anwers(Cheng Xiaoshi still losing but it's alright my baby I love you, I believe in you)
And how is Qiao Ling gonna play into this with her new powers? How is Li Tianchen gonna play into this with his powers and being manipulated by Liu Xiao???????? Also Vein's still alive too!!!!
Anyway this season was super fun and answered some things but not all of them so I'm really hyped for season 3 and I'm glad season 3 is longer

With the release of nowhere one lyric I've thought about kind of often is "He's smooth, flexible, quite easy"
While it is definitely referring to how he keeps a compliant and obedient facade for the aliens so he won't be directly abused and how he doesn't outwardly rebel or speak out against the aliens like Till. For some reason this lyric made me think of what society says to discredit survivors of SA.
It is very common for people to victim and call SA survivors "easy" as a way to imply that it was their fault for getting assaulted and that they "wanted it"
It made me think of the banquet scene in Round 6 where it was implied that Till was SA'd and how Ivan was in those same back rooms as him and the art booklet which you had to pay money for(which I do not have) but some preview images drew further parallels between Ivan and Till's suffering in those dehumanizing back rooms. It makes me even more heartbroken to think of what those two might've suffered back there(and how Ivan still went to check on Till even though the same things might've happened to him)
Am I thinking too hard? I don't think I'm cooking but it's something I thought of when listening to the song.

Guys I finished Alien Stage and I'm in pain. Why would they do this to me?
Not to mention the supplementary material and fan content rubbing salt into my wound.
However I have just one question. I keep seeing "Thank you for being a victim of my shallow emotions" thrown around everywhere in IvanTill posts but I can't find where this is even though it's supposedly canon.
Does anyone have a link to the comic or post or whatever? I have no idea where it is. If anyone could help that'd be greatly appreciated.

I'm gonna say now as someone who did not watch the entirety of campaign 1(only an episode here and there) but knows what happens, I still enjoyed tlovm season 3. like yeah do I lack some of the joy and nostalgia of the og campaign, yes, and i understand that will affect my judgment but seeing as how season 1 and 2 was set up i understand some choices that were made.
I've seen people complain about ripley's backstory because "we don't need a villain redemption, she's not supposed to be a sympathetic villain" which I understand because they look at backstories through the lens of "sad backstories must make a character more likeable" but i don't think that's the case, i think ripley's backstory serves to give her more in common in percy and thus cement her place more securely as a narrative foil to percy, like this is what percy could've become without vox machina, they are so alike, smart inventors, ambitious, lost family but one chooses companionship and light while the other chooses chaos and destruction.
and yeah percy choosing to reach his hand out to anna might seem dumb but honestly it didn't surprise me. this entire time vex'ahlia has been asking percy to make sure his mind isn't clouded with vengeance. they keep hammering that he's changed and he wants to prove to vox machina that he's changed and that he's not being controlled by revenge. so him deciding to prove that vengenace isn't controlling him by offering ripley a chance was honestly, not surprising at all and it made total sense to me.
but this is just my take, and i could most definitely be wrong. I just wanna know if other people felt the same or if I was just being dumb.

As a longtime DC fan I enjoy Shazam a lot but as a Greek Myth fan the acronym throws me off a bit.
As we all know Shazam stands for
Solomon(Wisdom)
Hercules(Strength)
Atlas(Stamina)
Zeus(Power)
Achilles(Courage)
Mercury(Speed)
It always confused me why there are 3 greek figures but when it gets to speed, instead of using Hermes they use Mercury which is the Roman form of Hermes(and also Hercules instead of Heracles). But I guess Shazah has less of a ring to it than Shazam. However I also notice that they put Solomon which you know, the christianity kinda disrupts the fact that the others are classical mythological figures so if we replaced all of them with greek figures like say Athena for wisdom.
Athena, Heracles, Atlas, Zeus, Achillles, Hermes so the acronym is Ahazah instead of Shazam
That's be hilarious like imagine if you fighting a guy and in the middle of nowhere they're just like "AHAZAH"

I'm so fucking disappointed in the MCU bruh. Like this is disney/marvel and I know they're not on our side and I know they don't care about us other than what brings them the most money but I still had a tiny bit of hope that they would do it right this time.
But with the recent casting of RDJ as Dr. Doom I'm more upset than ever at the choices Marvel makes regarding their characters from marginalized groups ESPECIALLY Romani people.
Dr. Doom's Romani heritage was essential to his storyline as the persecution and racism he dealt with as a Romani person shaped him into who he is as a character. This is not the first time Marvel has done this.
Wanda and Pietro Maximoff are both Romani but were played by White actors in the MCU. Elizabeth Olsen herself has been reported making racist remarks about Romani people. In the new tv show about Agatha Harkness called Agatha All Along, Lilia Calderu is a Romani Sorceress and is played by white actress Patti LuPone.
The MCU has always been guilty of whitewasting its Romani characters. All in all, they need to do fucking better.
BTW I'm not Romani and my rant was more about the harmfulness of whitewashing in general. If you want a Romani person's take on this check out florida.florian on tiktok or his other stuff.

I'm not a huge expert on Chinese history, but I think "Nezha Conquers The Dragon King" MAY reflect the culture/politics in China at the time. It was released three years after the end of the Cultural Revolution, and (at least according to Wikipedia) it was meant to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the PRC. As such, I feel like it might have been a deliberate choice to reframe the Dragon Kings as oppressive monarchs, overthrown by the heroic, rebellious Nezha.
Yeah I'm sure that was a possible case. I didn't talk about it because the post was getting too long and just left it at that and said idk if any historical sources have this version. My parents themselves survived the Cultural Revolution and mentioned that everybody watched this movie cause this was all they got, after years of suffering China was lacking artistic identity and freedom of expression so it was a big influence. Which is probably why this was the version told to me as a child. I have no idea why wikipedia has this version on Nezha's wikipedia page though so I figured maybe there was an actual historical source with this version. I just wanted to be sure cause I'm paranoid like that, I am no authority and never want to make assumptions about whether the version in Nezha Nao Hai is actually documented before. I can only confirm it's not in feng shen bang/feng shen yanyi/investiture of the gods.

Anyone else surprised LMK portrayed Li Jing as a good father considering the mythology?
Honestly I thought they were gonna portray him like in the myths, bro just radiated abusive energy in the trailer. Like look me in the eyes genuinely and tell me that you didn't immediately clock Li Jing as an abusive piece of shit. The vibes just screamed abuse.
Anyway a quick little PSA I am Chinese so I did grow up on the mythology but I am not a scholar.
Basically Nezha killed some servant guy of Ao Guang and then Ao Bing(Ao Guang's son) but Ao Guang is angry and tries to kill Nezha's family so to save the lives of his family Nezha sacrificed himself by killing himself. In death his spirit asks his mother to build a temple to host his spirit and he would help the people who visited his temple. And instead of being grateful for his son's sacrifice Li Jing burns down his temple. His son is later resurrected and Li Jing says horrible things to his son and Nezha is angry and tries to kill his father in revenge.
(The reasons why Nezha kills Ao Guang's servant and son varies from telling to telling, what my parents told me as a child is that Ao Guang wanted to eat children and Nezha would not let the children of his village be sacrificed. This is the retelling shown in the famous movie "nezha nao hai/nezha fights the ocean/nezha conquers the dragon king" but that is not the version in "feng shen bang/feng shen yanyi/investiture of the gods" who shows that Nezha was a menace and killed them because he's a child who was born with great power and didn't understand the consequences of his strength. I have no idea if the 1st version is corroborated by a Chinese source maybe xiyouji/journey to the west? I haven't finished reading that one.
Considering all that imagine my surprise when Li Jing tells his son that he's proud of him. I honestly paused the episode and laughed because that caught me way off guard.
I'm not gonna act superior and say retellings or adaptations of other stories need to be 100% accurate but don't expect me to have a good reaction either to something pretty left field.

I have come here like the rest of y'all because Yuri on Ice: Ice Adolescence was cancelled...and like the rest of y'all I am disappointed.
I mean I kinda expected it since it's been like 7 years since the initial announcement but way to squash my hope now.
Yuri on Ice was my introduction to gay Asian media so it was a big turning point in my life kinda and I'm glad about everything it did for me.
But enough of the sappy shit, Mappa when I catch you Mappa

Why do i keep seeing 75 as the age for Husk everywhere? the only info i can find on his age is 60-70 from a Vivziepop livestream linked below at 2:30:50. I even checked the Hazbin Hotel wiki and it says the same shit unless they forgot to add an updated livestream. The only place i found the legendary "75" is on the hazbin journey to the light wiki which is the fake ass wiki...
Are some of y'all spreading misinformation or can someone tell me there's an actual reason people keep saying 75?? otherwise please don't contribute to misinformation if your only source is "trust me bro"
