Bannoffee Pie, Wheat Digestive base, filled with a dulche de letche (condensed milk caramel). Slices of ripe bananas topped with a compound whip cream (1:1 cream and sour cream. With just a touch of vanilla) and for the final garnish, crushed toffee with rich dark chocolate and salted pretzels. This is always a hit with guests, family and friends.

It's 1am which apparently means soft hours tonight and I have been struck with intense feeling of I can't wait to be someone's wife.

Not in a weird traditionalist way or whatever. Fuck that. Nah, I mean in the way that there's somebody out there whom I likely haven't met yet that's going to love the little things about me. They're going to find it funny that I frequently act like I can keep up with Eminem or Lafayette in Guns and Ships which like I know I can't keep up but damn it, a girl can try. They're going to catch me bobbing my head like jamcat while wearing headphones and smile because they know exactly where in the Pebble Brain EP I am. If I tell them about something fandom related, even if they could give less of a shit about the topic, they'll politely listen for a bit just to see me talk about something I'm into.

And I'll love their quiet displays of being human back, all their quirks that I'll find endearing. Eventually, all that will culminate in both of us going well fuck, I really hope nothing drastically bad happens in the next 60 or so years because I don't want to give up your presence in my life anytime soon.

Long story short, I can't wait for someone to love me and decide they don't want to stop at any point in their life.

Another busy weekend in Auckland. On Saturday Sanne and I swam the Auckland harbour bridge as part of a race. It was extremely tidal and alot of people had to get rescued. My friend Wes and I are both injured so we stuck together and had fun along the way.

Sunday was Sannes birthday! Luckily our friend lent us there kayak so I could do that whilst Sanne swam. The water had never been so calm and quiet it was an awesome morning. I then made her my famous bannoffee pie which went down a treat!

Mark and Jackie still enjoying carrying me in from the Thursday night race, I think they like feeling helpful. Ankle is getting better but 4 weeks to go until I can attempt to run again.

Chai, Ceylon tea, Turkish tea, Hop tea

Chai: Where do you want to travel next?

Hop tea: Do you have a favourite tea? Which one?

Ceylon tea: Do you have a song you like, but have bad memories with?

Turkish tea: What is your favourite cake?

Chai: Some vintages of fine wine do not travel well. I'm like one of those. I don't have a passport. Never needed one. All my travel has been in my mind. Hop tea: I had a Russian tea once, years ago. Big black leaves. Never had a tea like it since. Ceylon tea: When times were at their worst for me, Behind The Mask kept me going. The Eric CLapton version. Bad memories now, because (a) it turned out the original by Yellow Magic Orchestra sounded nothing like it, (b) the song was rewritten bu Michael Jackson, and (c) what makes it bad - Eric Clapton turned out to be a swivel-eyed racist. So if times get bad for me ever again, I can never go back to this piece of music. Turkish tea: I love bannoffee pie. Can't get enough of it. But I'll eat anything that is not based on, or covered in, chocolate. Allergic to the filthy stuff.

Carter Blackthorn loves the holiday season; one of his favorite aspects of celebrating (aside from the food) has always been gift-giving. His family has always enjoyed spending the winter season together, and although his job calls him away from the Wild Hunt regularly these days, he still finds time to participate in traditions in the Hunt. After carefully wrapping his packages in brown paper, secured with a bit of twine, a sprig of pine, and a pinecone delicately attached to each parcel, the Wild Hunt fae carried his gifts into the Widowed Oak, finding a familiar residence among the teeming mess of faeries flittering to and fro in preparations for the holiday season. With a soft smile spreading across his warm features, Carter set the small stack of presents outside of Mahina Kekoa’s residence, tucking a hand-written letter underneath one of the knotted bits of twine.

Dearest Mahina,

I hope these presents find you well, just as the holiday season does! Traveling about Astralis has awarded me the great pleasure of getting to experience unique cultures and customs that are different than what we’ve grown up with in the Hunt, and I hope some of what I’ve picked up on my travels may be of use to you.

In the first package, you’ll find small burlap sacks, tied together with string, that contain crushed flowers and herbs that are native to the Spring Court. You won’t find their likeness anywhere else in the fae realms, and I figured what better gift to a healer passionate about her craft than medicinal herbs and flowers of foreign lands? Even if you don’t end up using them in your healing concoctions, they smell wicked good and would make an excellent potpourri.

The second package contains a mortar and pestle to go with the fine herbs and flowers acquired. While I’m sure you have your own, I found this in an antique shop when I was perusing the Autumn Court and figured you might like it even for the display quality, if nothing else.

The third package contains a real relic here in the Spring Court! Honey is a huge thing here, as the bees get to thrive in the temperate Spring Court climate, with blooming flowers aplenty to choose from. This is a jar of organic, locally cultivated honey, with a sprig of wild flowers thrown in to enhance the flavor. I like to use it in my baking, I figured I’d spread the love here!

In the last package, you’ll find one of my personal favorites of the Spring Court: some of their culinary delicacies. Sweets are a thing of legend here in the Spring Court and I’ve had a great deal of fun baking and learning from master pastry chefs. In this box (careful when you open the lid!), you’ll find a classic Spring Court Bannoffee Pie. It has a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth cookie base, and the filling is a combination of three supreme ingredients: cream, toffee, and bananas. (I drizzled a bit of silky dulce de leche in my version for good measure; the caramel-y flavors really balance out the bananas and the slam-packed sweetness of the toffee). The concoction is then topped with chocolate shavings and whipped cream. I tried a few different recipes before I found one I liked, so I hope you enjoy this sweet and fluffy dessert as much as I did the...numerous times I taste tested it while baking.

i love living in the moment and doing dumb shit even if ill regret it. so what im 15 and i want to have fun! anyways today i went paddle boarding for 4 hours in the lake and it was very fun :] i pushed my brother off (hes ok dw) fjhdkd i was also really excited to have mac n cheese for dinner only for the store to say they ran out -_- so i just got a lobster roll. anyways i think that maybe salted caramel and banana might be my new favorite ice cream flavor, it tastes like the bannoffee pie my auntie used to make for me

Friendsgiving 2020 lineup.... Buttered Rum Punkin' Triple Cherry 1/2 struesal 1/2 traditional crust Gingersnap Key lime Espresso crusted Bannoffee HC's Signature Whisky pecan A modest kick off to Pie Season. I've only made 41 family size pies and tarts so far this year. Last year it was triple.
