The beautiful yellow robe à la française with burgundy échelle designed by James Acheson is genuinely a work of art. Laura Benson initially wore it as Emilie in the 1988 film Dangerous Liaisons. Its intricate details and stunning color combination make it so memorable that it was immediately identifiable when it appeared a second time worn by Mira Sorvino as Marta in the 1994 film Barcelona.

This seemingly contradictory sport earned little respect when it made its initial splash at the 1984 Los Angeles Games. Despite common misconceptions, the "synchronized" part of the name refers to synchronicity with the music as opposed to other swimmers. However, it was removed from the program after the 1992 Games.
Louis Zamperini, 1936 U.S. Olympic Team: "We're all standing on the infield, the grass, all lined up military style. They released 25,000 pigeons, they said. The sky was clouded with pigeons. And the pigeons circled overhead and then they shot a cannon and they scared the poop out of the pigeons. And we had straw hats, flat straw hats. You could hear the pitter patter on our hats."

Carme Ruscalleda is the female cook in the world who has been awarded the most Michelin stars: a total of 7.
Born in 1952 in Sant Pol de Mar (a small coastal town in Barcelona Metropolitan Ambit, Catalonia), she came from a family of farmers and started working in her family's shop, which was a butcher's. There, she started preparing ready food for take away, and developed her passion for cooking.
In 1988, she and her husband opened their restaurant Sant Pau in their hometown Sant Pol de Mar. Their mix of traditional Catalan and Mediterranean cuisine with avantguarde and creative cooking brought them great success and recognition. In 2004, she opened a Sant Pau restaurant in Tokyo (Japan). She has also written many recipe books for both professionals and non-professionals.
Nowadays, she is considered one of the most innovative cooks in the world and is the woman who has been awarded the most Michelin stars. Last week, the University of Barcelona made her Doctor honoris causa in recognition of her work.
