OK, fair warning to the few people I actually managed to convince to try the game??

Rain world does NOT play like hollow knight, and you'll get your butt kicked if you approach it like that.

It's really hard. Like, really hard. Instead of the game literally giving you abilities in the form of power-ups and damage buffs, the only abilities you gain is from what you learn and your own ingenuity. You're a rat from beginning to end. If you just beef your way through it, it's gonna suck and you're gonna be confused and frustrated all the time. But if you pay attention, take it slow, and learn how the ai works and how everything interacts with each other, you can consistently get through and dominate situations you thought were impossible to do so when you first began. Now get out there, kill some lizards, and bully some old computers!

so i remember you mentioning how viktor might have a brief moment of 'oh god am i marrying my dad' about the similitudes between jayce and vander (of which there arent really that many) and then hes just like 'no im good'. but i can see him heavily pregnant, tired and p much being angry and/or even lashing out at everything and everyone and having a brief moment of 'oh god im turning into silco' (which, again, not true LOL but be nice to him his sense of perception is fucked)

It's a very surface level reading of the both of them to say that they are just Vander and Silco repeated. But at the surface level they kind of are (Viktor is impatient in wanting to make things better in Zaun, he's got a sharp tongue and a clever mind but tends not to get along with people easily and Jayce is the more charismatic of the two who is willing to toe the line to keep the peace but once his temper has flared will bulldoze over anyone who is stopping him from getting his way). And when Viktor is having those moments of fearing he's marrying Vander and becoming Silco he's not thinking about the nuance he's thinking about that high level stuff.

And it's always those moments of high stress that the similarities seem most apparent because that's kind of where they're at. Put Jayce under enough pressure and he suddenly he's not standing at full height, shoulders back and telling the person what they're going to do. Put Viktor under enough pressure and he's cutting the person down verbally before storming off to go keep getting his work done.

The pressure and stress is on while Viktor's pregnant, he's tired and sore and cranky as a result and that means he's dismissive and snappy (and a bit not fully objective about the situation). Which he knows is so like Silco and he hates that because he doesn't want to end up just like Silco. At least reassures him that he's not when he does breakdown at him apologizing for his behavior.

I like to think Iruka has a bunch of support based skillsets that by themselves don't seem all too important or strong in the mission field but when combined together or put alongside someone else he's actually an incredibly broken support nin and he himself is completely oblivious to this because he mostly uses those skills to wrangle the kids but if he mentions some of what he does to his more field active friends they all have a collective "Iruka what the fuck" response

Like that high level barrier he uses in the manga [and is the only person to use it in the manga. Others use it in anime filler but I'm not counting it] and the only reasons Naruto broke out were because 1) he himself is very broken at that point and 2) Iruka knew he wouldn't be able to stop him leaving and probably wasn't putting as much effort into the barrier as he should've been

And if we do want to use anime filler then he has that weird echolocation thing in 175 which I will never stop thinking about. Idk I just think there's a reason Iruka's canon stats show he's done 12 A-Rank missions before and I've decided it's because he's a great support nin to have on the team

This is incredible work that I love AND ALSO I have been woodworking since I was like 15, so please hear me when I say, you can ABSOLUTELY add hand carved wood to a pre-built furniture!

They're called wood cut appliques ime, and some stores literally specialize in selling nothing but carved appliques to add to fireplace mantles, banisters, furniture, moulding, or whatever else you like!

It's also extremely easy to get stencils cut for making some of the most popular designs like flowers or vines or fleur de lis or geometric patterns, etc. It's great, cuz you can pick yourself up a stencil (or make one should you be so inclined) and scrap wood from a lumber yard (or your yard depending on your circumstances) and carve up your own appliques! Then all you need is a bit of wood glue and some wooden pins sunk into paired divots with glue if you're feeling particularly inclined to make it One Thing That Will Not Break and off you go!

Generally, people will cut multiple layers of applique of various shapes to create a "3D" applique (as op has done here with materials on hand!) which is then secured to the furniture panel with wood glue as described above! The panel would need to have been prepped for resurfacing so that there aren't paint or grime barriers for the glue to overcome, but once the applique has been secured you can finish the resurfacing process with stain or paint or whatever you like across the whole surface, confident that the application will come out uniform and as if it was intended from the item's origin!

I’ve been patiently waiting for a nice second-hand wood dresser to appear on fb marketplace or at Goodwill for months. Finally, I grabbed this one yesterday for $50.

My inspiration for this project are some dressers I saw at Anthropology that have gorgeous carved details. But I want my dresser to cost $200 or less rather than $2,000.

Of course I can’t add actual hand-carved wood, but I’ve got clay and some silicon molds + epoxy and a potential overconfidence in my DIY abilities.

First up, I removed the existing hardware and sanded this pretty lady down. She is now looking MUCH better without all those terrible stains (and the drawer pulls weren’t doing it for her, tbh).

Up next, I’ll give her a paint wash or three and start trying my hand at faking some carvings!
