CHAPTER 1011 spoilers

I'm back after two weeks of having stupid painful eyesore! Still not fully healed but lasik generally takes a while to heal, oh well... into the SPOILERS!

🌟The chapter's title is "Dear bonney", it's a reference to the letters Kuma has been sending to lil Bonney, but what about those letters? Are they important? Welp, let's see the rest of the spoilers and we'll understand more

🌟so, the chapter starts with A flashback INSIDE the flashback, with Kuma remembering how once he and Dragon were on goa and Kuma curiously asks Dragon abot why he knows a lot about Goa, and why does he always keep his eyes on one boy (the boy of course being our precious luffy)

🌟Dragon sternly answers "keep talking if you wanna die" (this might be a mistranslation since i heard somewhere else he said "if you want to kill me then keep talking" maybe as a way to show that the topic Kuma was talking about is too sensitive and dangerous Dragon) and honestly this felt so out of character for dragon to say to his comrade like...

Isn't he already on your team?

🌟Dragon drops s hot line to clear his "fraud dad" allegations and says "a child is a parent's weakness", strong enough that poor Kuma apologized and stopped talking

🌟mini flashback ends with Kuma entering mount Kolumbo and observes a 16 years old luffy practicing. He gets a call on his den den mushi and luffy ends up hearing it ring, and before he tries to check, we find that Kuma has already left. Luffy just shrugs it off as some very strong animal and continues on his shenanigans

🌟 the call was frim the world government about a merchant ship getting attacked by pirates. So basically they told him to give those pirates hell because that's basically his job as a warlord

🌟throughout the chapter kuma is writing bonney letters, he is narrating them and talks about how much he loves her, how much he cares for her and all the great and amazing things he saw while traveling and how bad he wants to travel with her.

🌟 however unfortunately for our favorite bearguy priest, his letters never reached Bonney since the nurse lady alpha, would get rid of them so Bonney won't read them because well... duh they might contain some sensitive info, and since they're trying to make this whole ordeal a secret away from bonney, she makes sure no letters arrive.

🌟Luckily, Bonney has queen connie on her side, and her being the amazing granny she is she tells bonney not to show her abilities to any of the cipher pol agents, saying that "a smart hawk must always hide it's claws!"

🌟 Kuma visits Vegapunk's lab for more pacifista stuff and meets stussy (the clone that was made three years ago) and she sarcastically tells him "i wonder who's more unfortunate, a human with no consciousness or a clone with consciousness" Vegapunk (now with the apple head) reprimands her and tells her that she's indeed a human...

🌟 Vegapunk explains to Kuma that his transformation will be complete soon in one year, and until then he won't have a single emotion or thought left.

🌟 we see Kuma helping the revolutionary army, however he's a lot more silent now since he has reached a point where the modifications have become a lot more radical. Dragon and the others sense that something isn't right with Kuma

🌟we go back to sorbet island where Bonney is celebrating her ninth birthday, she still didn't receive a single letter from the ones Kuma had sent her. Bonney is now 100% healed but Alpha won't let her out until she reaches her 10th birthday since that's what the deal with Kuma was about

🌟 however our precious and beautiful Qweenie, granny connie, tells Bonney that she heard from a local town bar that alpha and her "staff" aren't actually medical staff and are in fact world government agents. They realize how bad is the situation and the people of Sorbet as well as Connie prepare for Bonney's escape. They bring a pizza themed ship, Gyogyo, poteto and Totsu (the three guys we always see in Bonney's crew) embark with her to go find Kuma, and Connie switch clothes with Bonney.

🌟 however, alpha and her team find out about this and follow bonney. Alpha is using geppou and threatens bonney that if she doesn't come back she will beat her up and lock her up (way to be such a scum to beat a child)!

🌟 just then, Bonney imagines one of the instances where Kuma talks to her about Nika and she asks him what he looks like and he tells her he doesn't really know but his body is rubbery.

🌟 bonney uses her toshi toshi ability and warps herself into Nika, delivering a FAT punch right to the jaw of Alpha (that looked like a really painful punch in the panel)

I once had this topic in my posts, and I want to talk about it again. Perhaps I will say the same thing, but in this context it is important to bring to the main idea.

So, the found-family trope. It has been perverted into "here's a set of characters, I've squished them into the heteronormative roles of father/mother/child". - found family CAN be that, in some cases, but that is not what the trope was initially founded on. The found family trope was built on NON-CONVENTIONAL FAMILIES/RELATIONSHIPS. It is about finding a family OUTSIDE of the one you were born into, a family that can be whoever you want, and look however you want it to. That's the very reason it's so popular in LGBT+ spaces. It is not about pushing people into strict parental/child roles. It is about finding family in other people, regardless of what they are to you. Romantic partners absolutely count as found family, so no, we are not pushing aside a lovely found-family trope for the "sake of a ship" (a silly sentence to begin with, imo, but I digress) Hank and Connor ARE found family, because you can find your family; your comfort, your helper, your partner in life, in your husband, wife, or partner. The opportunity for a queer love story does NOT cheapen anything, especially in todays world, where it's desperately needed right now.

So, when people say they are not infantilizing Connor by making Hank treat him like a son because adults are allowed to have parents and that Connor is smart and all but he’s still unexperienced when it comes to human emotions and needs someone to guide him and that Connor needs a guide, an anchor in his life I always ask myself why.

Why it has to be Connor of all androids? Why do people think Connor needs an anchor, a guide and why do they think he’s unexperienced? Considering, he’s a clever machine whose brain, or whatever he has in his head, works much faster than human being’s. Does that mean all the androids need a guide and an anchor? Isn't that infantilization? Weren't they actually shown as independent individuals? Doesn't this destroy him as an independent person who's already decided who he wanted to be and is aware of his own actions? In addition, people forget that he is not a human and he may not need the very concept of a father figure or parents/child relationships at all.

I have often seen how people who insist Connor needs a father, need a father figure themselves, in fact, they simply project their desires onto Connor and Hank due to a lack of fatherly love or attention, and some of them have directly admitted this to me. Tho, they choice of Hank as a father figure seems really ridiculous, considering how his relationships with Connor started. But then again, Connor is not a human, and such concepts may be alien to him. We do not talk about Markus here, because he lived for 10 years with a man who considered him a son from the very beginning. Therefore, Markus is the exception rather than the rule. We leave out Alice because she was essentially programmed to be a child and needs to be taken care of, this is basically her function. And there were no other examples of family relationships among androids, there were only couples.

The most interesting part is also that people who are usually against HankCon, seem like the ones who are applying their personal feelings and issues to the characters. Can your partner not be your family? Is your partner not your friend, your confidant, and the person that helps you heal and uplifts you? Those things aren’t locked to just platonic or familial relationships.

Although I'm still sure that good old stereotypes are to blame, because if Hank was younger or at least looked younger, no one would think of him as a father figure. If people are only doing this because of his age and looks (and I suspect that's the case... in most cases), it's largely the fault of the fandom itself that forces Hank into this stereotypical role. Because a lot of people who played the game, but have never been part of the fandom, have no problems seeing Hank and Connor as a potential couple or just who they are accrotding the plot - friends), it just shows how incapable they are of analyzing characters. Because according to this perspective, any human being, if they are not a child or a teenager, will be more experienced in life than any android. Shouldn't androids view all humans who are over 20 as their potential parents or parental figures then? But for some reason, if a human being looks young, no one assigns them such a role, although from such a point of view this is exactly how it should be. So either people accept that Connor is an adult, capable of making adult decisions (while remembering that he is not human), or they accept that any android is infantile by the very fact of their existence and needs a parental figure, even if humans who the androids interact with, look young.

LOTS OF HOMESTUCK FANDOM RAMBLING AND COMPLAINS

[this is my view, this is my opinion, idc if you disagree, idc if you agree, i just wanna talk about it and hopefully never touch the subject ever again] [english is not my first language, pardon my errors]

"Kanaya and Rose are lesbians!!!" that's a cool and valid headcanon, but you recognize and treat it as what it is - a headcanon - right?

You recognize that people who ships Kanaya and Karkat are not 'homophobes' nor are 'trying to erease Kanaya's sexuality', right?

I like rosemary, I really do, but I'm TIRED to see people writing "DNI IF YOU SHIP KANAYA/ROSE WITH BOYS". You're entitled to do that, sure, that's not even the biggest problem. THE problem is when 'fans' see the ship and not the characters and don't go over that. They see rosemary as "the lesbians uwu" and nothing else.

Rose and Kanaya used to be very complex and unique characters. Sure, Act6 ruined them, but Act6 ruined EVERYONE, so what's the difference? Why so many people headcanons Karkat as 'gay' but still recognize him as his own character? Why it's not the same with Rose and Kanaya?

They basically don't exist outside of their relationship anymore, they exist as a whole that consist in just "the sapphics, the lovers, the wives" and that's it.

Mind you, I would still say this even if their canon sexuallity was lesbian, but the fact they're not and people are so aggressive about it makes it so much worse.

Rose has shown interest in men, Kanaya - as EVERY troll - doesn't even know wtf 'sexuality' means. Basically, if we HAVE to give the a sexuality, Rose is more bisexual and Kanaya pansexual - maybe omni since Hussie said Kanaya's interest in women is "a fetish"; something horrorific that I seriously don't know how fans (indireclty) accepted (by making Kanaya as "the lesbian uwu").

I feel like repeating myself, but YOU CAN HEADCANON THEM AS THE FUCK YOU WANT TO! You can even feel uncomfortable if people ships them with the opposite gender! You can post/talk/reblog/etc about them only when they're paired together, I do it too! But don't go after people who sees them differently; don't go after people who doesn't buy the 'canon rosemary bullshit' (remember they interacted very less and very less romantically than other famous ships like grimdorks after all); don't geniunly think about them as "the lesbians" and nothing else. This is why wlw ships and woman characters are so less relevant and seen in fandom spaces. Yeah, they're in every Beta kids/troll draw, but them ALONE as themselves, without making their sexulity/relationships the centre of the thing? How many character analysis there are about homestuck boys - sometimes even without mentioning their relationships at all? How many there are about girls character? And I used rosemary as an example but Jade suffers a lot of this too.

Have you seen Jade outside of the "best girl" or "autistic girl" or "cute girl who can beat your ass" context? Much less, right? The last one - "cute girl who can beat your ass" - is even less present then the others somehow. Jade in general is very less present in the fandom in general.

"It always has been this way" I disagree. VRISKA is the perfect example for this. If you go further back into the fandom, you'll see tons and tons of Vriska-solo content, lots of analysis, fanarts, fanfics, etc. But since she became the "Terezi's moirail uwu" she stopped existing so much outside of her relationship with Terezi. Even Vriska's relationship with Tavros didn't do that. Gosh, not even Vriska's PAST relationship with Kanaya did that! I'm not even sure this people even KNOW Vriska and Kanaya were moirails and that Rose was supposed to 'replace Vriska' and become Kanaya's moirail herself.

But times have changed and now Vriska too is the "butch lesbian" and nothing else. Well, in her case, she still have lots of solo-moments in the fandom, but I think that's because of her HUGE part in Homestuck, were you simply cannot talk about it without mentioning her and the stuff she does. "That's valid for Rose and Kanaya too", yeah, but significantly less, you understand that? You *can* summorize Homestuck without mentioning Rose's role in the Beta SBURB session and so it's for Kanaya, but it's more difficoult to do so without mentioning Vriska's numerous interventions and fucked ups. Also, Vriska is a much more controversial character, of course people are going to discuss her more outside of her relationships.

I'm happy that this fandom considers characters as Nepeta and Feferi, even if they have such a short screentime. Still there are plenty of problems with how they're portaied in the fandom.

Nepeta's "cat-girl >w<" moments are more or less stopped; old fandom already saw this and contrasted this. The same can't be said for Feferi.

I'll say this once here and only once and (hopefully) nowhere else: Feferi is not a good person, and she's not a bitch either.

"But she used Eridan and broke up with him!" she forced herself in a relation with him to keep his morderous intentions down.

Do you see what's the problem here? It's not the ships, it's not the screentime, it's not the misscharacterization, the problem is the white-black mentality people have in fandoms; the belief that one character can exist in one context and nothing else (one ship, one way of thinking, one characteristic, ...). Characters can and should be more complex than one characteristic they have which is a little fraction of themselves. AND this is especially true for girls/women characters, who are STILL viewed less and less complexly than boys/men characters, and THAT'S what kills complete girls characters and kills variations and fertilize misscharacterizations.

who are your top ten favorite black clover characters and ships (platonic or romantic) - talk about them

Oh boy this is going to be a long one, so Here we go.

The Characters

This is in no order, but these are my favourite. I have only watched up to episode 86.

Finral, this guy is a ride to watch. He is basically the little Brother friend of the Black Bulls and is clearly the only reason why they haven't died yet. His growth as character was a Great one to watch, both in combat as he managed to stall Langris for a bit, creating a New Spell, and even playing the key part of defeating Vetto with Vanessa and Asta. Everyone bullies him and his Rizz is pathetic and I love him.

Charmy is a character that honestly surprised me at how much I liked. I mean she is a gluton, but isn't afraid to share her food. She is easily the kindest of the Black Bulls, but is disrespful and I love her. I Like how her fights are the quickest in the show, with one or three punches and I love her Magic. I love how she wanted to eat Bell all for Yuno. I also think her crush on Yuno is adorable to me.

Luck is so fun to watch. Easily the most fun. His story is quite tragic and the way he was abused and looked down on everyone was sad to watch along. I like his character trait of his constant smile, and when he isn't smiling, you know she is about to get real. Also, his relationship with Magna as besties is so Damn Nice to watch.

Noelle is basically what you want to write with a female character, no joke. Strong? Yes. Important to the story? Yes. Growth both as a character and in power? Yes. Personality? Yes. She is a top tier female character.

Sekke mainly because how much he gets bullied by Jack, Yami and the rest of the cast.

Klaus mainly because he went from "Listen Here Yuno, just because you have a 4 leaf clover and was chosen my Vangence, doesn't mean I Will treat you the same way and you will Listen to me, no matter what." To "Yuno, did you brush your teeth today? Your hair doesn't look as clean as before. Have you eaten anything lately?". Mom friend.

Magna has been a fun character for sure, and the Fact Here has so much growth and trust in his friends. His friendship with Luck is Great, and I think he gets bullied as much as Finral.

Asta is the best New gen Protag and it isn't even close. This man embodies the idea of never giving up. No matter where he is, no matter how much he is down, he Will never give up as his Magic is never giving up. His weakness is his Greatest strength. He isn't special, but that's what makes him special. His fights are so interesting at how he uses his main Weapon and I love his rivalry with Yuno.

Yami is a retired Shonen protag. I mean think about it. He is from a different country, treated as an outsider, he has a rival with a goal in mind, has the Will to get stronger, his mentor becames a leader of a country and he has an unique skill of ki. Not to mention he is disrespect incarnate, disrespecting everyone left and right while he is on the floor.

Yuno is my favourite rival in all of anime. Sasuke is my favourite rival character, but as a rival Yuno is the best at it. He mirrors Asta in every way. He never discourages in Asta, hr has complete trust in his best friend. He looks Like an arrogant prick, but is just some shy, introverted boy who loves competition.

The Ships

For this, I have more platonic than romantic.

Asta x Yuno (platonic) - The best friendship and rivalry in all anime. Grew up as brothers and never gave up on each other and they truly care about each other.

Yami x Julius (platonic) - I Like it because od Yami's loyality to his mentor and friend, the trust between each other and that Julius was the first person to accept him.

Magna x Luck (platonic) - Basically, one who loves prankijg the other and the one that gets prankes, but they truly and deeply care about each other. Also the Fact that Magna was Luck's first friend is cute to me.

Mars x Fana (romantic) - Come on, how can I not? Mars was going to Fana's hot flames, burning up outside and inside, hugging her which was strong enough to break her out of it as they stated at each other for a long time with massive smiles on their faces.

Klaus x Asta/Yuno (platonic) - all because I love the idea of him Being the biggest mom friend to them

Vanessa x Finral (platonic/romantic) - can't really choose. I Like how both of them are so close to each other, and I Like that their main Arcs also feature the other.

Asta x Noelle (romantic) - A good hetero ship that doesn't make the female character the Protag's future baby mama, but instead encourages her to be stronger than ever and go beyond her past and limit? Sign me up!

Yami x Charlotte (romantic) - basically a girlboss feminist that could wreck anyone's shit in love with the closest looking homeless man on the planet. You love to see it.

Yuno x Charmy (romantic) - I just find it extremely cute at how flustered Charmy is around Yuno, how she would fight Bell for Yuno, gives him treats, and that Yuno doesn't think anything badly about Charmy, and how they net was adorable.

The sun was being unforgiving throughout this heatwave. Timothee walked into the guesthouse by the pool and grabbed a few beers from the fridge. He walked out handing them to his friends that were lounging by the pool. Music blared from the outside speakers as one of the guys jumped into the pool, flipping off the edge. 

Timothee laughed as another friend fell into the pool, trying to balance on the diving board. “So, Tim,” His friend, Donavan, spoke, taking the beer from Timothee’s hand. “Tell me about this girl.”

“Yeah,” Mason asked from where he waded in the pool. “You went on and on about this hot chick for weeks.”

“Going on about how hot she was and how sweet she seemed.” Donavan added.

“I think that ship has sailed.” Timothee told them, taking a sip of his beer.

“Already?!” Mason asked with amusement. “What the hell did you do?!”

“Nothing!” Timothee defended with raised shoulders. “I didn’t do anything! I tried talking to her and she shut me down.”

“So, you’re just giving up?” Donavan asked.

“Well, she turned me down like twice now. If I keep at it I’m pretty sure that’s harassment.” Timothee eyes his friend. 

“Maybe she's playing hard to get?” Mason offered.

“I don’t know.” Timothee huffed. “Last time she was here she basically called me a player and said she wasn’t interested. She didn’t even show up two days ago for the weekly cleaning and shit.” He tipped back the beer again, swallowing a big gulp. “She didn’t treat me like the rest , you know? She didn’t throw herself at me and wasn't all ass kissing. I’m so sick of these women that only want me for what they can get out of me. Even the ones in the business only come at me because they want it to boost their image.”

“World is full of gold digging whores.” Mason said, laying back on the ground, his legs still dangling into the water. “Makes it hard to find a good girl.”

“I’m pretty sure she is one.” Timothee said, looking over to the gate. He jumps up seeing the family mess of hair on top of her hair in a messy bun as she pushes open the gate. “Y/N!” He said, going over to the gate quickly.

“Hey,” She greeted softly as she met Timothee in the yard. “I don’t mean to interrupt.”

“Oh, no! You aren’t!” He waves a dismissing hand towards his friends. 

“Um, I wanted to drop this off for you.” She hands him a big bag of chlorine. “I was supposed to stop by a few days ago but I got swamped. Two other workers called out with the heat and I was running all over the city.” She gave a little chuckle.

“No, it's totally fine. I- I actually thought that after last time-”

“That I was avoiding you?” She raised her brow, looking at him.

“Kind of, yeah.” He scratched the back of his neck shyly. 

“I’m not avoiding you.” She tells him with a gentle laugh. “You didn’t do anything to make me avoid you.”

“Could I interest you in a beer.” He looks down at the watch around his wrist. “It’s late and you should be finished for the day, right?”

“I can’t.” She furrows her brow. “I actually have a family thing sort of.”

“Sort of?”

“I’m babysitting my cousin’s kids while she and her husband have a date night.”

“Well you’re just the go to in the family, aren’t you?”

“Pretty much.” She laughs. “I’ll be back in a few days to test you. I mean the pool!” She laughs again.

Timothee laughs as he holds the gate open for her. “I’ll have a cold beer waiting for you.”

“You do that.” She walks past him and stops turning back. “Oh! And your friend is right.” Timothee gives a little head tilt in confusion. “We aren’t all gold digging whores.”

“You heard us?!”

“You have a very loud voice.” She tells, smiling. “See you later, Mr. Chalamet.”

Two days later Timothee was in his backyard. It was late in the evening and he was a sweaty mess as he carried another giant box in his arms to the guest house. He walked out the house, wiping his brow on his shirt sleeve. 

The back gate creaked open and he froze. “Shit!” He muttered, wiping his face on his shirt.

“Moving?” She asked, setting her stuff down at the pool.

“Uh, no. This is some stuff for my sister.” He walked over to her, meeting her halfway in the yard. “She is moving to Paris for a while so I’m storing some stuff for her.”

“Aw, being a sweet big brother.”

“Little brother, actually.” He places his hands on his hips. 

“Really?” 

“Yup. Come on.” Timothee asked, walking to his guest house. “Want a drink?”

“Sure.” She followed. “I won’t deny something cold at this point of the day.”

“How goes pool cleaning today?” Timothee looks back at her as he opens the door, letting her in first.

“Geez! Your guest house is as nice as the main house!” She looks around at the white, crisp room decorated with leather couches and wooden tables. “Nicer than my apartment!” She smiled. “Bigger, too!”

Timothee chuckles as he goes to the fridge. “Soda, water or beer? I have fancy vitamin water if you like that kind of stuff.”

“Do I look like a fancy vitamin water type of girl?” She eyed him.

“You look like a cold beer after a hard day type of girl.” He pops the top and hands her the bottle of golden liquid. 

“You would be correct.” She takes the bottle with a smile. “What about you? What kind of drink are you?”

“Depends.” He pops the top and tosses it on the counter. “If I’m worn out, a beer is good. If I’ve had a really rough day, maybe whiskey on the rocks or jack and coke.”

“What does a hard day for an actor look like?”

“Shots that won’t work or can’t seem to get right. Where you have to redo them over and over again. Dealing with producers that won’t budge. Mostly anytime I have to deal with big studios.” He noticed how intensely she was looking at him. “What?” He chuckled.

“I’m trying to think if there is anything I’ve seen you in.”

He gave another chuckle and his face redded slightly. “I’m no Brad Pitt.”

She points to him with her beer in hand. “Are you related to Pauline Chalamet?”

“That would be my big sister.”

“I do watch her show!” She smiled. “Okay, I can see the resemblance now!” Timothee gives a smile at her. “I don’t watch much TV or movies. Never really have time.”

“I don’t watch much unless I'm on break.”

“Are you on break now?”

“Yeah. I will start filming a movie in two months.”

“Is that what you do? Film for several months and take a few months to yourself then on to the next gig?”

“Sorta. Depends on the schedule. I may only have a few weeks in between. Or maybe I have six months. Depends on filming. I like to stay busy so I usually do maybe two or three months at most between projects.”

“If I’d be rich and lived in a house like this,” She points around her. “I’d never leave!” Timothee laughed. “I’d imagine it gets lonely though.”

“It can.” He nods as they walk out the guest house. “I have a handful of close friends, the non famous kind, that help keep me from getting a big head.” She gave a giggle as they walked to the pool and sat on the edge. “I also have some famous friends that make it easier to be around the snobs of the industry.”

They sit in silence for a minute then she turns to him. “Do you like it?”

“My job?”

“Yeah.” She places her bottle down and rests her hands on either side of her on the edge of the pool. “You talk about it being stressful and crap. Do you like it or do you just do it because it gives you all of this?” She motions to his house.

“I don’t like the politics of it. I don’t like the inbetweens about the industry. But I love acting.” He tells her. “I like telling a story that isn’t mine. I love the feeling of letting go and becoming someone else. So, in the end its worth it to me. This.” He gestures. “Is just a nice outcome of it all.”

“So you’re saying if you weren’t paid millions to do what you do you would still do it?”

“When I lived in New York and moved out of my parents place I was living in a tiny apartment in the Bronx. No,but the amount of insane theories that fandom comes up with in order to minimise her character or make it all about R is frankly gross. There’s loving your ship and there’s racism.Like N is the only character D spends time with after they go hunting for Aemond. Prior to that he does nothing (ignoring B&C for a second🤢)but stay at Harrenhal then help take KL so then wanting their relationship to be misunderstanding or some other BS means D will get no character development whatsoever.D/R stans argue this or that is romantically coded in their relationship but when it comes to him and N suddenly it’s all lies and slander and their whole relationship (whatever it is)is made to be all about D/R drama. It’s like a restart of how GOT treated J/B but in this case it would be worse since Netty is a WOC who would be getting rejected in favour of blood purity that D*emyra represents and this fandom apparently wants that.😤 It’s funny really how most of them claim to be Daemon stans because he would kill anyone who talked about N the way they do.

I get hating a ship cause I literally hate Daemyra (sorry not sorry, I feel that the ship is garbage 🤷🏽‍♀️), but that’s my personal opinion.

I’m not trying to go out of my way to delegitimize canon and it’s pretty obvious that Daemon and Nettles were a thing in books. The amount of back flipping(these stans should try out for the Olympics lol) I’ve seen to say that somehow they weren’t romantically involved is gold medal worthy 🥇

Literally every source claims that they were likely lovers. Even the maester who claims that Daemon saw Nettles as his daughter goes on to say that they bathed together. No one is bathing with their 17 year old daughter. Nettles was not an invalid. She could bathe herself. I know that this fandom is insane, but use your brain for five seconds 🫠

Rhaenyra at this time was basically loosing her ever loving mind. Spoilers ahead for anyone who hasn’t read the book

Rhaenyra orders Nettles execution cause she thought Daemon was sleeping with someone who she saw as beneath him.

Mind you this is the same woman who was okay with her husband sleeping with a literal Valyrian prostitute (Mysaria), but she drew the line at Nettles cause she thought she was a common witch who had somehow bewitched(pun intended) Daemon.

Cause there was no way her pure blooded Valyrian husband would ever stoop so low as to sleep/fall in love with someone who has no Valyrian blood 🫠Daemon could sleep with all the whores he wanted but the moment he fell in love(cause let’s be honest here I’m pretty sure she suspected Daemon loved Nettles) with someone else she went berserk.

Daemon could have easily flown back to King’s Landing to reassure his beloved wife that he only saw Nettles as his daughter. Even the Targs drew a line at parent child incest so I’m pretty sure Rhaenyra would have understood once he reassured her.

Rhaenyra was literally loosing kids left and right and her reign was going poorly. Knowing that the love of her life was there for her and would always be by her side would have done wonders for her slowly depleteing sanity. But does he do that? Hell no!

Instead this man went out of his way to make sure Nettles was safe and away from harm. He does not follow the wishes of the love of his life. He had a touching last night/morning with Nettles and then leaves for a suicide mission. Didn’t even say good bye to Rhaenyra or nothing. He just left.

Lol and the fact that these people make Rhaenyra out to be a “feminist icon” is just laughable. This heifer was only out for herself. She wouldn’t even help out a noble woman who wanted the “Rhaenyra treatment”(that’s what I’m gonna call it).

She told that woman to hang up and lose her number because younger sons come before their older sisters in the line of succession. Rhaenyra was an exception to the laws of the land. Everyone else has to follow the rules except our beloved Targaryen Queen!👸🏼

I was never into Jaime and Brienne, but I can see how their ship parallels Daemon and Nettles. I also see how Rhaenyra parallels Cersei, but I actually like Cersei(at least show Cersei, Lena Headey did an amazing job). Show Rhaenyra is like Cersei w/o the personality. Book Rhaenyra isn’t much better.

Like you said it’s gonna be worse cause Nettles is Black/Blackish so that adds an extra layer of vitriol.

These stans can not self insert themselves into Nettles so by default they want her gone. Which is why they are so willing to have her replaced with Rhaena cause she’s Blackish too so it will do!

Daemon’s last arc is basically Nettles. Putting Rhaena in her place will not work. Rhaena has her own story anyway. The fact that they want to replace such a pivotal character cause they don’t like how it will affect their ship is bonkers.

I won’t say they aren’t Daemon stans, but they are a specific type. These stans are first and formost Daemyra self insert fans. If it’s not Daemyra they don’t want any parts of it/Daemon.

It's super interesting to see this develop. The massive victim/persecution complex of a certain subset of Izzy fans. The vitriol leveled against all other fans, and the show itself, because clearly, these people never liked ofmd in the first place. Never liked what it actually had to say and instead, invented subtext that was never there to look into instead. It's like watching the birth of a conspiracy theory under controlled conditions in a petry dish. You will see these people say with their whole chest the most unhinged bullshit imaginable and receive praise for it, but when you keep in mind that for months, they have discussed the show Izzy in their insular little echo chambers, most of their takes become a lot more understandable. There's robust internal logic, even though, due to the flawed premise, none of it makes any sense.

But it becomes understandable when we loop back around to the point that a lot of these people don't engage with the show on its own merit. They really treat it as if it were just another queerbaity (maybe not even that) mid-2010s thing, too afraid to do something different.

Aw, thank you very much! I’ve always really liked Vince though I wished he had been more three dimensional, but I guess that’s a little too much to ask for from a show that mainly focuses on the aliens and their problems instead of the humans and theirs, which makes sense though it’s disappointing at times. 💔 I’m glad my fic helped you warm up to Vince more! It means I’m doing something right as a writer. 😊

As for headcanons, I’ve got more than a few! I’m not really sure if these will be spoilers for the fic, as I actually have no clue how far it will actually go, but I’ll share some general headcanons that I don’t think will be touched upon in the story!

- Vince is the worst at cooking. He’s banned from the kitchen and Jack will not hesitate to tell him that he can’t cook a gourmet meal to save his life. Vince accepts this. However, that does not stop him from trying whenever Jack’s back is turned. He just wants to make his boo a nice breakfast in bed, is that too much to ask for? Yes, yes it is.

- their ideal date is going for a leisurely drive around Jasper and the surrounding area on a nice sunny day, with the likes of bands like Linkin Park and Daughtry playing on the radio. Vince has made it a personal mission to get Jack into rock music. It is working, though Jack will deny it profusely whenever Miko is within earshot. They also like getting ice cream together, and indulging on said frozen treats during the drive.

- after, y’know, being knocked out by an ex-friend, Vince loses some of that confrontational attitude that he had, as he’s afraid that if the same mistakes are repeated, he will not get so lucky a second time. However, if anyone messes with Jack or his loved ones, then he will unleash the beast, but he will not if anyone bothers him. So Jack is the one who usually comes to Vince’s rescue when needed, which everyone else has mixed feelings about because he will not hesitate to take a nearby fire extinguisher and hold it threateningly.

- they find comfort in just each other’s company. They don’t need to talk in order to comfort the other. All they need to do is hold each other and cuddle for a while and that’s all it takes to realize that everything’s okay, that they’ll be okay, that they’re safe and well. Vince especially needs this; Jack’s affection keeps him grounded and anchored to the earth, it keeps him from doing something impulsive and possibly dangerous.

- much to everyone’s surprise, Vince is the most affectionate, especially verbally. He’s got a new pet name for Jack every other week. The one he uses the most, though, is “Bunny” - basically, he took Miko’s “Jackrabbit” and modified it to his liking. Jack will never admit out loud that he’s fond of the nicknames but the way it makes him blush is a sign that he does like them.

- also surprising to everyone is the fact that Jack is a literal thief. Vince’s clothes, especially his jackets and his sweatshirts, go missing almost all of the time and when he finally one day decided to actually look around instead of brushing it off, he found every. Single. Lost. Garment. neatly organized in Jack’s closet. After Jack is busted, he shamelessly wears the clothes when he goes out for school and to base instead of just wearing them at home.

(It has been a while since I’ve last drawn the humans of TFP, so I’m out of practice. This was also a quick doodle just for fun, so Vince and Jack don’t look perfect here!)

Bonus headcanon for the future:

- eventually, they will get married, some day in the distant future after they’ve completed college and have gotten stable jobs. They are deeply devoted to each other and very much in love, and neither one of them can imagine life without the other in it. They complete each other. They are two halves of one whole. They are perfectly capable of surviving apart, but they are much stronger together. They bring out the best in each other. There is no one in the whole universe who could ever compliment these two lovebirds more than they do for each other. After the rough patch in high school, and after they’ve worked out their issues and grown as people, these two get along so much better than anyone could have imagined. Sure, they have the occasional argument still, but they now know how to work it out so things get resolved quickly.

dreamnoblade hcs:

trust is a very big aspect of their relationship. something about two broken beings who has never been shown real love or affection and has given up on people and love as a result.. meeting each other and learning to love the other because if there’s anyone out there who can love the monster that i’ve become, then it would be someone who’s equally as awful.

just two characters with a sad backstory (who learned it the hard way not to get attached to others pretty early on in their life) managing to find comfort and solace in the other’s presence.. they learn to show the other that they are capable to feel love and to be loved in return though mutual trust because they get what the other person has going through (maybe not entirely, but they've been hurt too - they know what it’s like to hurt all over without a helping hand to anchor them - and that makes all the difference)

techno is insanely overprotective of dream. this is the only hc that i will never change in any of my dnb fics. techno (the moment he has fallen in love with dream) will be so overprotective because dream is THE object of his affection, basically ranking as the highest person on his short list of the people he actually cares about, and he as his infamous saying goes “the only thing that works in this world is that you treat others as they treat you those who have treated me with kindness. i will repay that kindness, tenfold. and those that treat me with injustice, that use me, that hunt me down, that hurt my friends. i shall repay that injustice a thousand times over.” his character is a big fan of an getting even and not letting others who have hurt him get away with it. and if he’s willing to repay an injustice (namely others hurting those he considers his friends,) he will make sure to repay that transgression a thousand times over, so imagine how much worse it would be to anyone who dared to hurt dream (the person techno loves) basically im obsessed with techno going batshit insane whenever dream gets hurt

speaking of obsessed, there’s this line by chirstopher marlowe that i always associate with how i see their dynamic, it goes:

"why should you love him whom the world hates so?"

"because he loves me more than the world."

(this is literally dreamnoblade, idc idc their love is just so more powerful, it’s weight is heavier and far stronger than any other force in this world that they are so willing to disregard anything else (morals, humanity, their own preservation) because they know - they know - that the other loves them more than anything this world has to offer

also they are two touch starved men that are slowly learning to open up to each other (not just through their thoughts and emotions, but also through gestures, comforting touches here and there, maybe a pat on the back, a hug at night, a soft kiss on the cheek) the first time dream probably hugged techno, the man combusts.. just down right stops working (error 404) because of the sheer surprise of the action and the overwhelming feeling that overtook him from the brief contact. 

some soft dreamnoblade hc:

dream likes the feeling of techno’s cloak wrapped around him and how techno is definitely a whole lot taller than him, and it makes him feel small (which rarely happens given his height) the feeling is unfamiliar yet comforting bc it gives him a sense of safety and security to be around him

they bicker like an old married couple bc techno loves messing with dream and dream is just “you wanna go?”

they geek out about books (greek mythology especially) together and have in-depth discussions about who the best pjo character is (percy for dream / leo for techno)

they cuddle post war and mayhem (its their way to destress) 

fav dreamnobalde aus that im an absolute sucker:

anything that can give me that sweet, sweet opposing forces having to work together in order to defeat a common enemy with lots of ust!! so royalty aus are great for this!

also maybe something really angsty like reincarnation aus where they keep meeting each other through different lifetimes, but one of them (dream) keeps meeting a very cruel demise as soon as they fall in love while the other (techno) is the only one to remember anything 😢

also a canon divergent fic where dream escapes prison pretty early and goes to techno for help

dreamnap hcs:

they have the best friends to enemies to lovers dynamic, ever. period. you can’t change my mind. they carried this entire trope on their backs, sorry any other piece of media that tried to use this trope, but dreamnap has you beat 👋

something about two people with shared history is just the bestest, most delicious, compelling dynamic in the world... exes. old friends. childhood friends. old friends who are no longer friends. decade long slowburns. multi decade slowburns. the works... that’s dreamnap

just dreamnap being friends to enemies to lovers is jsut so intimate. the whole “i know you i know everything about you i have told you all my deepest secrets and you have told me yours and now i am trying to kill you literally or metaphorically because hate and love are separated by a very thin line and i don't know which side i am on” this is basically the whole spiel sapnap gives dream at prison that goes “dream... if you try and break out early... you only have one life left, okay? and, you know, i don't think it's gonna be tommy, it's not gonna be techno, dream. if you break out of this prison, it's gonna be- it's gonna be me who takes your final life.” 

but also focusing on their history and friendship, dreamnap is basically that entire prospect of someone becoming a home. dream not knowing what love and affection was due to his horrible upbringing and meeting sapnap who’s literal love language is acts of service? 

ive always thought that it was sapnap who taught dream what it means to be loved, just the whole unmet childhood need for unconditional love and safety... dream is a very distrustful character by nature and sapnap definitely had to be gentle with him, taking his time to show that he means no harm and dream learning to actually lower his guard for the reward of actually being loved in return... subjecting himself to the mortifying ordeal of being known

their shared history definitely mean being so attuned to each other’s needs and temperament, they’re sensitive to the subtle change in the other’s emotions/actions and are able to sense something’s wrong without having to ask

also would like to say that their teamwork is unparalleled. just the sheer understanding that they have of each other’s thoughts (strategy and implementation) and skills when it comes to fighting together is the most badass thing to witness, a turn of their wrist a subtle shift in their posture and the other just knows.

also going back to the enemies with a shared past.. ive already said it before but i want to point out how they most definitely still have feeling for each other even after all that they’ve been through because they’re two codependent characters that probably can’t stand the thought of being away from each other (no matter how many times they say they hate the other and that they never want to see the other person again, they always come back to each other)

just the absolute insanity of the quote: “we make each other alive. does it matter if it hurts?” and how it pretty much represents dreamnap’s iconic (and slightly toxic) and poetic relationship post prison-break.

some soft dreamnap hcs:

they love using nicknames (anytime sapnap calls dream baby boy, darling, love.. it gets to dream and when dream calls sap pandas, sapnap melts)

they have the same mannerisms bc of the years they’ve spent together (their interests are so entwined together bc of it)

they use each other’s clothes a lot

very overprotective of each other, the whole “touch him and you die” whenever someone messes with the other

Right so I’m gonna pick Robin, Julian & Pat (yes it did pain me to not pick the Captain. I chose not to only because I am literally so similar to him that there’s no point having us both) Okay so…

a. Probably Julian. He’d just never shut up, even though he’s fully aware that he’s probably attracting zombies with the noise. He just can’t resist talking. Robin is loud too, but he has enough experience hiding from bears that he knows how to shut up when he has to

b. Pat for sure (I mean, I’m basically the captain and I 100% ship Patcap so it just makes sense)

c. Definitely Pat. This one’s a no brainer - the guy literally runs food club. Plus, I don’t think Julian is capable of cooking anything more complicated than beans on toast (he’s a spoiled rich kid - you really think he knows how to cook?). Also, even though Robin has experience in foraging, Pat knows how to make it actually taste good

d. Robin. He’s got the most experience in surviving out in the wild after all

e. 100% Julian. Like, look at that guy… there are absolutely zero survival skills in that man. He is absolutely useless in the practical sense, but he keeps us all entertained, which is honestly just as important because we’d all die of boredom without him

f. Definitely Pat - he just wants a chance to relive his scout leader days. In fact, he’d probably treat the whole situation like a scouts activity

g. Julian. I feel like he wouldn’t even know what the symbols mean but he’d pretend he does so Pat would let him hold the map (BIG mistake). He would then lose it within 10 seconds

h. Hmm. Idk. Maybe Pat? It would be for a stupid reason though, like a tree almost falling on him or something like that

i. Robin would adopt some mice (yes, the mouse family are getting a mention. And yes, they survive the apocalypse). They are a very important part of the group and he treats them like his own children

j. It’s really close between Pat and Robin, but I think I’m gonna have to say Robin. Pat is important for the navigation aspect, but Robin is the only one with good survival instincts, so it’s thanks to him that everyone is still alive - there’s no point in knowing how to get to safety if you’re all dead

I'm less confident about saying Nikki and Jackie are a lot alike but I'm sure there are some similarities? And as for the ships--I mean, I always smile at your 'my verse is canon' tag because we'd all like to think that, but in the real verse gwikki basically are barely even friends and only bond when they're both high, which is kind of ugh to me. I can't see them together at all, let alone having the kind of significant relationship that Jyde did, but maybe I'll feel differently if the show gets a seaosn 2 and they interact more? Long story short, i saw gwikki as just two people who are kind of from the same friend group but don't even like each other unless they're stoned, but I know that initially jyde weren't close and almost no one liked Jackie either, so maybe that's the similarity you see? And maybe eventually gwikki would build up the same kind of bond and trust? I would love to hear your thoughts on what Jackie/Nikki and the two ships have in common if you want to share and apologize for rambling!

First of all, thank you for being respectful! I’ve gotten a lot of hate in my inbox (anon tho) when it comes to shipping them so thank you for being respectful. Glad the “#my verse is canon” tag makes you smile.

For Gwikki, since canonically there aren’t a bunch of interactions, there’s not much material but I do see potential. And about the high thing, that wasn’t the only time they bonded. I think they both were already sober by the time they were dressing up and having fun. Plus with Gwen’s reaction about the scrunchie in canon, idk it just gave me secret hookup vibes.

Now onto the gwikki/zenmasters parallels, obviously character wise there are parallels. But also Gwen/Hyde didn’t really seem to like jelso/nikkixnate (“how much longer are we gonna have to deal with the whole Jackie experience?”, etc./ “shouldn’t you be controlling my brother’s life with your body.” “If you two go, you’ll just find some dark corner to hump around each other.”). And also Hyde/Jackie and Gwen/Nikki didn’t seem to be super close in the beginning and have even stated they have nothing in common (i.e. “talking is people who have something in common.” and “we have nothing in common.”)

Plus both, Nikki/Jackie are in unhealthy relationships with guys who don’t treat them right. I’m gonna be honest, Nate to me is more of a Kelso than Jay and Betsy combined (she exists in my verse). And Gwen/Nate are siblings, and Hyde/Kelso had a close bond in canon. So I get the vibe that Nate would react to Gwikki in a similar manner to Kelso reacted to Zenmasters. But then with Hyde and hopefully Gwen, they ended up/will end up learning how to be in a relationship with a good mix of love and respect.

Oh my goodness thank you so much for the chocolate & cookies! Always a treat to hear from you. And always more then happy to oblige with answering those asks. While there are a lot, I am eager to answer them all. I am up to the challenge. Here, have some coffee for while you read.

1) Who was your first ever OC? Do you still "use" them? How have they evolved over time?

Aww this is a treat! My first ever OC was a HC’d lovechild between Kisshu and Ichigo from Tokyo Mew Mew. Her name was Claire Momomiya and I adored her like nothing else. Even so far as to making a silly little comic book with a school friend. The writing was atrocious and very cliche middle schooler wattpad weeb. 🤣 So you know, grossly cringe. Ugh since then Claire is still used be she is completely separate from her original counterpart. She now goes by Clara and has matured a great deal. Although I don’t use her anymore, she is still such a memorable and precious OC that she will never be discarded. I will find something for her one day.

2) Who is your newest OC Why did you make them?

Yvette is my newest oc! I made her shortly after I started playing God of War and saw Tyr’s design. After hearing what a gentle giant he was, and then seeing him in Ragnarok, I couldn’t help but be smitten. That and comparing my own height to his. 😳 He’s such a sweet, wise soul whats not to love though? Even if he is a bit of awkward giraffe lolol. Between that and general simping gutter brain, I wanted to give him someone to love and be loved by. But not by me lmao. No self insert here. But uhh my gutter brain was strong with this one because size difference make brain go brrr. And somehow these became the horniest, most mature, yet sweet canon x oc ship I have to date. Whoops?

3) Biggest self-insert OC?

OOH! That would be my sweet pea, Faline! Closest tie with her would be Florence. Although both are actual self inserts. Faline has been my longest standing Self-insert (going on 2 years soon) and one that holds most of my similarities. Including my height, build, my autism, my not-so-great childhood, trauma, and mental health. Genuinely v little difference between her and I.

6) Do you have any OCs without stories? Will you ever create one for them?

I mentioned it before but Clara is currently the one without a story. Although I’m not quite sure if you’re talking actual physical written & completed story or just a general background. I’m assuming the latter, but please correct me if I’m wrong. I will eventually give Clara a proper story, but for now she is content seeing me bond with my other OCs.

9) Favourite OC?

Oh my Gods, Nemo; how can you ask me such a thing? 🤣Just kidding I can actually answer this. My beloved Claudia is my favorite. She was such a treat to create. To go from a minor character made to push a plot point, to then being one of my biggest muses, she is a gem and a half. She is as complex as she is beautiful, and I look forward to continue creating stories for her and Darius.

13) Which story has the most lore?

Oh Gods “Saints & Sinners” by far. Ash and I have spent almost two years developing that universe. It initially started off as a silly “what-if” thing but now we have a whole world, timeline, rules, deities for every basic thing, A deity hierarchy system, Soul-bondings, rules for said deities, the reset system, etc. it used to only focus on four characters, now its expanded to following 8. 4 couples, all soul-bonded deities. It’s an incredible experience.

20) What story are you the proudest of? Why?

Hmmm probably “burn scars” as of right now. Its still in the works but its pushing me out of my comfort zone to deal with more graphic, emotion-heavy scenes. Trying to capture something like that is not easy, but considering it’s such a crucial part in Darius & Claudia’s timeline I am determined to get it right.

What are your favourite movies?

I’m not much of a movie person in general but the ones that have higher chances of holding my attention are animated films. I’m the worst when it comes to watching films. Its like pulling teeth to get me to do.

I almost sent you this ask a few days ago, but after seeing your latest anon, I'm definitely going to send it now: an actual thank you for outlining how Fang & Vanille were written as sisters. As someone that's been in this fandom for as long as the game has been out, I find myself both leery and weary of everyone that claims that F*nille is "basically canon," and the implication (or the explicit accusation, in your last anon's case) therein that everyone who doesn't agree has failed some arbitrary morality check.

This is the only qualm I have with F*nille shippers - a lot of them are pretty chill, but I sure wish the rest of them would stop spreading fanon interpretations like wildfire and then harassing people that don't conform!

I'm right there with you—stuff like that has been around for a while, though in the early days more people were outspoken in how they felt they weren't romantic, even still after LR. I've met some good shippers as well, but in my experience, they are eclipsed by the ones that share the same commentary as the last anon.

All in all, it's "typical fandom" as some say, but I'll never condone it. It just isn't necessary. If what you ship or interpret isn't the truth or isn't based on the tangible evidence, it's fine. Like, it's fine. It's not about how people see things between Fang and Vanille as romantic, whether it's about personal experiences or feelings about their actions, but rather, it's about realizing how limiting those two things can be on the ability to understand and accept when it's something else. There has to be a settle point of what we're actually dealing with. And we can just, talk about it in a real discussion.

Although media can, at times, make it difficult to tell what's what (usually on purpose artistically), these points exist and can still be agreed upon—of what can be considered truth, personal interpretation, open-ended, whatever is the arguable stuff of "this is supported/not supported", etc. When it comes to media, I don't think people realize how easy it is for these lines to blur, especially when there's motivation to do the blurring ourselves—we make it hard, when it can already be hard enough to figure stuff out. Or worse, we make it hard when it's EASY to figure stuff out. So, when the media gives you what you need to understand it, I don't think that should be taken for granted or made irrelevant just because of personal desire to make it so. And sure, there are points outside of just personal that can be made—but recognition of the limitations of said points should still be recognized when discussing possibilities, and THEN weighing the possibility against direct information that supports it. Context and execution still matters.

Fang and Vanille just haven't been treated this way. They haven't been REALLY talked about.

FFXIII fandom has had years to do it, but the forefront of the characters isn't treated this way. There are things said, but never explained completely or logically, such as the points I made in my original post. Those things are regurgitated over and over, but never a real discussion of the actual context and logic surrounding them. "Fang and Vanille slept in the same bed"—you have people say this and spread it around, but not at all, formulate a real discussion about it. But, misinformation and misconceptions spread VERY easily in fandom, like no joke, and they can be treated as truth even though it factually or even logically is not quite right. Certain interpretations take the forefront, even if they're not completely in regard to it's origin. Every fandom probably has stuff like that, I know personally of points in the Kingdom Hearts and Dragon Ball Z fandoms.

Just keep it simple—if what has been described for them allows understanding of everything between them, why SHOULD it be wrong or less viable than something that, well, has not been described? If no conflict exists, why create it? Knowing this shouldn't be hard, it's just when we reach the road blocks based on limitations of knowledge, experience, just personal motivation, etc.

And, if you think there IS a conflict based either on the material itself or your own experience, okay let's actually talk about it. Sure, understanding can still meet it's road block from the above, but even a "agree to disagree" is still better than whatever that anon was. At least the right information is in the atmosphere, where THEN discussions of perspective and understanding can be had.

It just hasn't happened enough, if at all.

In general, the FF fandom suffers with these things a lot from my observance, it definitely isn't just for Fang and Vanille or XIII. It really shouldn't be such a fight to say "Fang and Vanille are like sisters" because all avenues of information and logic are available for this to be understood. It just sucks because, yeah, while I definitely don't want people to feel like they CAN'T ship them, at the same time, I wish the full information and understanding of the characters was at the forefront. Especially when it's actually something that can be appreciated and enjoyed too, and to a lot of people, platonic relationships are something that need to be recognized more often. Not in the casual "oh they're sisters, of course they love each other" way, but rather in what otherwise is a REAL depth that matches, if not, is even sometimes greater than some romantic depictions. And actually have a genuine appreciation of that depth, and not see it as "less" because it's not romantic.

I feel like we could get there for Fang and Vanille, but it just depends on how many more years will there be people willing to share and discuss what pertains to them.

Rules: List five things you never get tired of writing; it can be tropes, themes, characters, phrases, whatever brings you joy. Then tag five people!

1. Men being hopelessly, stupidly, absurdly in love with women, basically to the point of worship because that's what she deserves. Really fun when said woman has not been properly obsessed about in canon or headcanon. (Very fun in overblown idealistic fiction, ok.) Frankly, as a bisexual woman, this is the one trope that is forever my chef's kiss delight.

2. Explicit: Dirty talk. Someone in that scene will be chatty about it. Maybe it's even inner dialogue, sure, but... dirty talk.

3. I love writing Jopper because of the history and experience of them, individually as well as together. Damaged adults are a treat to write. I love the freedom to make it a little messy and stunted before it gets sweet. It's a big contrast to how I approach writing Hellcheer, where the damage/angst is a lot fresher and younger and I think they're overall easier to insert a lot of personal headcanon-fluff with. (Having opposite-feeling ships to write has saved my writer's block. Who knew!)

4. Dialogue-heavy freak right here. I will find every which way to stylize dialogue, too. Lots of stuttered words, or abrupt cut-offs with em dashes. Em dash freak with fanfic, sorry2say. Italics. Bold. Find your bliss. I write how I hear them speak, essentially. Pet names, nicknames, goofy phrasing... anything I can hear, I try to make into word art.

5. I love writing seasonally themed fics??? Honestly would love cranking out some Halloween into the winter holidays one shot fics, but like... life and time will tell.

❧ he's incredibly patient with you and gives you all the time you need to put your thoughts and feelings into words. if it's just the two of you, he'll sit you down and listen carefully to you explaining what you're trying to say and then makes suggestions as to what that feeling could be or re-explains it to see if he understands. if you're with others and having trouble he'll still show the same level of patience and leave it up to you to decide if you want to keep trying to find the right words or if you need him to help you out. if it's the latter, all you have to do is look over at him and he'll basically try to fill in your sentences for you until you get caught up. and if anyone tries to interrupt you while you're talking or judges you for being too slow, lucas will send a sharp glare their way that instantly shuts them up

❧ the mood swings aren't a problem for him either. he has your personality down pat from being with you for so long that he's an expert at handling them. he focuses on what you need from him in that moment, whether it's to be left alone or to vent out your frustrations, and he'll do whatever it is. his main priority is to make sure you don't hurt yourself in any way, like if you're prone to throwing or breaking things or hitting yourself or exhausting yourself to the point of collapse, he'll make sure he prevents those outcomes before he acts on what you need from him. it's a very fine tuned process he has, but it suits your needs perfectly. if you feel any guilt from your mood swings and try to apologize to him, he'll gently shut you up with a kiss and reassure you that you'll never be a bother to him and he loves every part of you, no exceptions

❧ he's not super good at or into painting, but if you want him to paint alongside you he'll do it, but his painting always end up being something related to you. he'll do a portrait of you or paint your favorite flowers or animal or recreate the landscape where he took you on your first date. he'll keep anything you paint and somehow finds room to display every single painting. i hc him as a bit of a maximalist so his walls and shelves are full of stuff, but he always finds room for you <3 he'll also gift you new paints and canvases and brushes and even invests in a nice easel for you. if you like to work from observation, he'll help you find the perfect reference to work off of; he'll even go as far as to take you on a little trip to the most beautiful scenery if you're in the mood for painting a landscape. his house isn't super big, but he dedicated a little corner as your own art studio, it even has a window for natural light

❧ he loves reading too, but he's more of a casual reader, like he'll read maybe one or two books a month. he has plenty of books on his shelves for you to choose from, but the selection is far from that of a library or a bookstore, so if you can't find a book that suits your fancy, he'll take you into town so you can browse bookshops and libraries. if you prefer to buy books rather than borrowing them from a library, he'll treat you and buy you one book every month so that way you can grow your own personal library of books that you really like

❧ lucas does keep a few secrets, and he speak in riddles sometimes, so it may feel like he's hiding things from you, but all you have to do is confront him and ask him to tell you things and, although he may be hesitant to tell you if it happens to be a serious matter, he'll eventually tell you what he's keeping, and he never lies to you. the worst he'll ever do is lying by omission, but upon your request he'll tell you whatever it is you'd like to know

❧ he's far from a show off, but he does try to do little things with the hopes of impressing you, but that's mainly things like trying a new recipe or demonstrating a new spell. he feels there's no reason for him to show off cuz he's got nothing to really prove to you; he believes that you love him for who he is and he shouldn't have to fight for your love and attention

❧ he may have been kinda distant with you at first, especially before you two became a couple, but that was mainly because he was scared of losing you. now that y'all are in a great relationship, he's loosened up a lot and shares things about himself and even started delving into his past, lucky you. and a big part of this is because he trusts you, he knows that you won't turn against him or leave him for someone else, and with this he knows that he finally has his person and allows himself to let his walls down and finally let someone in

❧ he treats you so well, like he'd do literally anything for you; he looks at you like you hung the stars up in the sky by hand. he indulges you in all your interests and wants to try them out himself as he wants to understand you on every level he can. and his treating you well goes much farther than just spoiling you every now and then and paying attention to your personality and interests; lucas respects you. he knows that you can take care of yourself and he doesn't see you as someone who needs his care. don't get me wrong, he wants to care for you, but he recognizes that you're capable of so much and you don't need him babying you and making all the decisions for you. if you need his help, he'll be there in a heartbeat, but until then he trusts you to and knows that you can make the right decisions for yourself. he's your partner, not your keeper, ya feel?

❧ he agrees that arguments are necessary and inevitable in a relationship. he loathes the idea of fighting with you and yelling at you, so if he ever feels that one of you is getting too heated during an argument, he'll advise that the two of you take a break to cool down and then y'all can come back to it later. arguments would probably be something that was brought up as a concern early on in the relationship cuz he knows they happen and he wants the two of you to be on the same page for when they come up. he'll make sure to hear you out when it's your turn to speak and he'll never interrupt you, and the arguments always end in a compromise and no hard feelings

❧ he's not a very braggy person, so keeping your relationship on the down low is no problem at all for him. he might bring it up in conversations, saying something like "oh yeah y/n, my partner, is making dinner tonight", but he'll never bust into a room yelling about the details of your relationship lol. pda is fine by him as well, i could see him enjoying holding hands or having an arm wrapped around you or helping you down a step or even kissing the back of your hand. his pda is all subtle and sweet; it's clear to others y'all are in a relationship but it's not so much that it's rubbing it in everyone's face

❧ i often mention him taking you places on dates or on little adventures, which is for sure something he loves doing with you, but he also understands your desire to stay home and just chill. i see him as the kind of person who is always out and about doing something, but with you in his life he's come to appreciate just being at home with the person he loves most. he starts suggesting more at home date nights, like reading a book to each other or trying a new recipe or even a fun painting game. he loves how domestic just being at home with you can be; y'all don't even have to be doing anything special, it could just be a cleaning day and he'd enjoy every second of it as long as it's spent with you nearby
