Era appena finita la Canzonissima e Manfredi, che aveva avuto un grande successo con Delia Scala e Paolo Panelli, e che aveva impersonato il barista di Ceccano, fu intervistato proprio per raccontare quello…

Esercizio: le scarpe del tuo personaggio

Furioso

Odiava svegliarsi in quella stanza dai toni pastello. Odiava quel minuscolo bagno in camera, odiava la finestra con le inferriate. Odiava indossare quei vestiti preparati per lui da altre persone, non poteva più scegliere niente. Odiava quelle maledettissime scarpe. Odiava dover sottostare a tutte quelle migliaia di regole inutili che aveva accettato di rispettare solo per poter restare in quella prestigiosa clinica riabilitativa. Doveva resistere, doveva dimostrare di saper tenere a bada la sua incontenibile ira. Ancora qualche tempo, ancora un po' di pazienza tra terapie di gruppo, cure farmacologiche e buone azioni calcolate per avere una prova certificata di non essere un soggetto a rischio, né per sé né per gli altri. Voleva solo tornare alla sua vita! Infilò i pantaloni della tuta verde (mio Dio! Verde??!!) e la maglietta grigia che gli era toccata quella mattina. Sospirò attingendo a tutto lo spirito di adattamento di cui poteva disporre. Quasi pronto, gli mancavano ancora le scarpe. Le fissò come se volesse incendiarle con lo sguardo. Erano delle semplicissime slip on di tela bianca, con la suola in gomma. Comode, loro, tranquille. Non gli avevano fatto niente di male. Eppure sentiva crescere quella preoccupante tensione dentro di sé. Gliele avevano consegnate il primo giorno, ritirando le sue Nike nere con il resto dei suoi vestiti in una scatola che avrebbe riavuto all'uscita. Gli avevano spiegato che non poteva tenere con sé oggetti pericolosi.

Si era fottuto talmente tanto il cervello che adesso era pericoloso lasciarlo da solo persino con un laccio delle scarpe. Ecco a che punto era arrivato. Provò vergogna, si sentiva indegno, fallito, spezzato. E adesso la sentiva tutta quella rabbia ribollirgli dentro, e capiva che non l'avrebbe più rivolta all'esterno. In quella mattina di monotono odio aveva chiaro che alla prossima crisi avrebbe fatto del male a sé stesso. Sentiva dentro sé tanta potenza da autodistruggersi.

Calciò quelle maledette scarpe contro la porta e tornò a letto. Decise che avrebbe saltato tutto: colazione, incontri, stanza comune, terapia. Sarebbero venuti a cercarlo. Quel giorno non avrebbe fatto il bravo paziente che finge equilibrio. Voleva solo restare nascosto nel buio, sentire la violenza del suo malessere trasformarsi in dolore.

Poco dopo l'infermiera con cui litigava tutti i giorni entrò e trovandolo così, la sentí fare un verso compiaciuto. Si avvicinò per sollevare le coperte e guardarlo in viso, lui ebbe una certa soddisfazione a non essersi fatto trovare in lacrime. La guardò con tutto l'astio di cui era capace, poi lei esclamò: "Bene ragazzo, era proprio ora di cominciare a fare sul serio!"

Stronza.

Però aveva ragione: quel giorno aveva iniziato il suo percorso. Davvero.

"Quanto freddo hai Bastiano, piccolo uomo in alto sulla rupe stampato lì a fissare il precipizio con gli occhi color supplica di cane tu faresti il primo passo e per il resto basterebbe qualche cosa come una tenace convinzione e poco contano le leggi fisiche di forza e di piume che sfoggiano le aquile.

Bastiano sei ancora quello vero?"

Year 1673

While the losses in Tartosa were weighing heavily on the family's mind, in Henford the Carlisle home was a bustle of activity. Sadly everyone there could relate to the losses felt but with the support, Orelia was doing as well as she could given the circumstances.

Gianna and Roberto were more than happy to help their son and granddaughter following their loss though it was hard to think of such a young lady being taken from the family like that they did their best. It was hard though since little Marina was only two when her mother passed. She didn't quite understand beyond that Orsa was gone now. As Spring came again, Roberto was already suggesting that Alessandro remarry as his daughter did need a mother in her life and while they would support him, it wasn't as if they were getting any younger.

It had been months since the loss of his sister but slowly but surely, Giovanni Cesare started to feel more normal as he got back to playing.

In Henford, Sarah was happy to share that she and Antonio were expecting once again and while both of them were fearful remembering the loss of their first son, they were hopeful that this time would be different and they weren't alone as not only were they expecting but so was Orelia.

Now that the losses weren't so fresh, Giulia did her best to cheer up for her sons that were still with her especially Giovanni Cesare as he was young enough to still need her help and support more than her oldest who she supported more by helping with the triplets.

With the triplets getting older and each day growing more independent, Ashley felt more confident in her skills as a mother though she feared another pregnancy as three was a handful already and the idea of a fourth or fifth or a dreaded sixth made her head spin. Giuliano was more than happy to try and avoid another pregnancy but more because he was eager to get back to having time to themselves as a couple, something the pair rarely did with three little ones always wanting attention.

Still as the year came to a close and the triplets were all sleeping though the night, albeit inconsistently, the young couple was happy to rest and reconnect together as they gossiped about how it wouldn't be long now until their kids were old enough to play not only with Marina but Katharine and Leonardo were expecting their first as was the Collari couple even with their issues, so the pair were already anticipating their free time in the next few years and celebrated the fact that they had three healthy children.
