What is Battery Cell Sorting, Why Is It Required, and How Do We Do It?
In the fast-growing battery industry, ensuring the quality and efficiency of lithium-ion battery packs is crucial. One of the most essential steps in battery pack manufacturing is battery cell sorting—a process that directly impacts the final battery pack's performance, lifespan, and safety.
Tumblr media
What is Battery Cell Sorting?
Battery cell sorting is the process of categorizing battery cells based on their voltage, capacity, internal resistance, and other electrical characteristics. Since no two battery cells are exactly the same due to manufacturing tolerances, sorting ensures that only cells with similar performance characteristics are used together in a battery pack. This improves overall efficiency and prevents issues such as imbalanced charging and discharging.
Why is Battery Cell Sorting Required?
Cell sorting is necessary because of the inherent variability in battery manufacturing. Even with stringent quality control, individual cells can exhibit slight differences in their characteristics.
Performance Consistency – Mixing cells with varying capacities can lead to an imbalanced battery pack, reducing efficiency and reliability.
Enhanced Safety – Properly sorted cells reduce the risk of overheating, overcharging, and thermal runaway.
Longer Battery Life – Matching cells with similar characteristics minimizes degradation and extends the battery pack’s lifespan.
Optimized Energy Output – Well-matched cells deliver consistent energy, ensuring stable performance in EVs, energy storage systems, and other applications.

How to Perform Battery Cell Sorting?
Battery cell sorting is typically done using automated testing and sorting machines. The process of cell sorting involves several key steps:
Cell Receiving and Inspection: Incoming cells are inspected for physical defects and initial quality checks.
Electrical Testing: Cells undergo rigorous electrical testing to measure OCV, IR, and capacity.
Data Acquisition and Analysis: The measured data is collected and analyzed to determine cell characteristics.
Sorting and Binning: Based on the analysis, cells are sorted into different bins according to predefined criteria.
Traceability: Data is recorded to provide traceability for each cell. Semco Infratech’s Advanced Battery Cell Sorting Machines

Hello! I've been seeing your post about the Spina Venatores. They're so cool and I'm kinda interested about your girl Poultry, I'm wondering can you talk more about her?
YEAAA glad you like em!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Poultry is my beloved, stressed, constantly struggling, perfectionist girlgenius chicken! <3 ohh where do I start with her ... she's the only human in Spina Venatores, a girl who figured out how to mix mankind's logic and the arcane. her role in Spinas
i'll put the rest under a read more bc it got a bit long o7
she's the little girl mentioned in Darley Clatter's in-game Stories! Lilian! at least until bluepoch releases a Darley Clatter anecdote where they show the actual Lilian lmfao
they don't explicitly state that Lilian is a human afaik, but since her father is hiring an arcanist to get her the best horse in the world, I interpreted it as how humans will hire arcanists for frivolities like this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(screenshots taken from the wiki because I can't be bothered with opening the game rn lmfao)
either way, Poultry is that little girl; spoiled, bratty, precocious, too smart and observant for her age, eager to have adventures and have everything she asked for. she was so enamoured with her childhood friend Darley Clatter and arcanum as a whole that she asked her parents to make her into an arcanist despite being a pureblooded human--when she found out this is Literally Impossible, it sort of ruined her friendship with Darley Clatter due to resentment and jealousy, and she put all of her time and efforts into finding a way to BECOME an arcanist, to mix both humanity and arcanists into one, instead of having humans recreate arcane skills with machines and whatnot
Tumblr media
and she ACTUALLY succeeded, she figured out the differences between human and arcanist physiology through experimenting with arcane creatures and critters, and then regular animals with arcamun similar to Pickles and whatnot--horrible horrible stuff going on, stuff that leads sometimes into creating homunculus and chimeras and things that should not be alive! which got her kicked out of her university!
now. I'm fully aware that, as far as we know in canon, it's impossible for pureblooded humans to become infected or to make use of arcanum the same way arcanists do--one needs the smallest amount of arcanist heritage, no matter how diluted through the ages, for that to happen (like Semmelweis). it's all biology and physiology and science stuff. so for Poultry, her theoretical process of becoming arcanist involved a lot of. well. forcing her body to naturally adapt to arcanist cells and produce them. which could only happen through unethical self experimentation, something she could only get in Manus Vindictae
Venison recruits her on a whim, convinces the higher ups that her knowledge and experiments could be weaponized against mankind, and in turn, they give her the resources needed to go through her dream of becoming an arcanist. and these resources are Spina Venatores! because everyone there has specific arcanums related to the human body--flesh, blood, bones, etc! and it fucking works! frankenstein's monster! her body can NOW slowly adapt to arcanum!
the DOWNSIDE is that the constant exposure to arcane creatures guts and blood of all sorts (one of Spina Venatores' jobs is to hunt down mythical beasts, aside from hunting down important targets) actually caused Poultry to become infected with the Beyond Disease--the Manus Mask she wears was explicitly given to her by the higher ups to fuel her extremely weak arcanum into something actually useful (think of Enigma's explanation about low tier vs high tier arcanists and batteries). but ALSO to slow down the Beyond Disease, because Manus is invested in seeing if they can genuinely turn a human into an arcanist with the intent of creating more cannon fodder to turn into Disciples and Followers (yknow, the monsters arcanists turn into when they wear the masks)
so unbeknownst to Poultry, she's become an experiment within Manus Vindictae!! and shes probably going to die very soon!!
a fun fact is that her arcanum is both related and powered by delusion and belief, becoming stronger the longer she believes herself to be arcanist like any other, but also hinting towards the Beyond creature that infected her being a fairy of sorts.

Everyone knows me at the dump. I don’t mean this in a bragging sort of way. In fact, I hate this fact. The reason why everyone knows me at the dump is that Mr. Jones, the dump operator, has posted the CCTV footage and blurry cell-phone camera pictures of my face on the break room wall. Even the youngest probie at the dump will look at me, every morning, while they wait for the coffee machine to dispense their mandatory cup of black joy.
You can probably guess why this has happened to me. I love junk, and the dump has a lot of that junk. To me, it is offensive that the dump hoards that junk. They keep it from me, using excuses like “sanitation” and “safety,” but safety is my middle name. If they would just give me a chance, then I would be the best they’ve ever seen. I’d even remove and sort the little lithium-ion vape batteries that haven’t exploded yet, out of gratitude.
Of course, we both know why I’m digging through trash at the dump. I don’t want old Betamax VCRs, or mouldy cardboard boxes heralding products from a bygone era. Well, I do, but I don’t want them more than I want a two-stroke dirt bike, and I’ve seen tons of those over the years get callously tossed into the debris pile by the great unwashed. They’re always getting thrown out for little reasons, like “carb jet plugged,” or “caught on fire,” or “couldn’t get anyone to buy it on Craigslist for septuple the market value so I threw it away out of spite.” I could save these bikes, and to be not allowed to save them is literal torture.
Just like anyone else would in my shoes, I started wearing elaborate disguises to the dump. Sometimes I could loot one, and throw it into the back of my car, and be gone before the dump operators (there weren’t even security guards yet, back then) could catch up to me. I had enough disguises – and enough cars – that I could pull this off for a little while. Then, used cars got really expensive, and the folks in my neighbourhood started using security fasteners to hold on their license plates. I started to escape by tighter and tighter scrapes, until one fateful day.
That bastard Jones figured me out. He came from Chicago, of all places, a city which I’m pretty sure doesn’t even have a dump. And he knew my kind. He set a trap: an agonizingly pristine, 1989 Yamaha XT225. Sure, it was a four-stroke, but it was still love at first sight. It was planted right on top of one of the big piles of disposable diapers, visible even from the highway. Even knowing it was a trap, I made plans for months to grab it.
The joke’s on him, though. I’ve started my own private dump, and I’ve paid the government to start outsourcing dump operations to me. We’re an extremely efficient operation, much more affordable for the taxpayer than the wasteful public dump. How so, you ask? Well, we are much more selective with what waste we accept, and we wrote one helluva contract, which had a bunch of big words that confused the gin-addled politicos that signed it out of desperation to meet their “lower taxes” pledge.
Here’s how it works. We charge the city hundreds of thousands of dollars a month, and we get first pick of any internal combustion engines that are in the back of the garbage trucks. Everything else goes down the road to the regular dump. We’re making a fortune. If we keep putting out numbers like this, I’m sure there will soon be layoffs over at Jones’ shithole. Hell, maybe I’ll even hire him to manage security around these parts. Can’t have anyone walking off with my good trash.

Sandopolis Square (Chapter 2)
A pile of rubbish from a long lost world had formed at the centre of the room, it was so large that all the tables and chairs had been pushed away as part of the searching fervour, and yet so little had been found. Blaze the cat's mind was racing as she tossed another briefcase onto the pile, its contents quickly found to consist of now useless money, before delving into an abandoned rucksack. The last abandoned rucksack within her reach.
The pyrokinetic threw a glance over to her companion and what he'd been collecting. On one of the few still standing tables, the hedgehog had piled old cell phones found amongst the rubble. While their batteries were dead, he had informed her that, if the pair of them were lucky, replacing or re-powering the phones when they returned to the past might reveal information. If the worst came to the worst, taking the devices to Tails would surely glean some results.
They'd found books too, but most of them had been historical or fantastical, it was rare that those sorts of tome would be useful. The hedgehog had however managed to uncover a city map, confirming this was Station Square and giving them a rough understanding of their position. Meanwhile, she'd found nothing of real use, besides a few phones to add to his piles and wallets with cards and pictures, identifying the departed.
It was as if she'd been searching in all the wrong places, selecting bad spots to look by virtue of bad luck alone. Well, no, that wasn't true- bad luck wasn't to blame for the disparity in their success. The hedgehog had simply gotten better at sorting through the rubble. His psychic grasp had spread throughout much of the room, raising and sifting piles of debris to quickly determine of anything was worth a closer look. With a single wave of his hand he could pull open bags and float free their contents, spreading them into the air.
They'd found evidence of upper floors, though the entrances to them had been blocked off by more wooden boards. In the rooms outside of this central one, there was more evidence of past activity but no living people nor machines or evidence they could harness. If only there was-
Blaze felt something familiar hit her grasp, presently shoulder deep in digging through that overlarge rucksack. A papery texture, wedged at the bottom of this bag, dry and flakey but undeniably intact. Multiple pages, there was a chance!
The clothing on top was quickly removed, though now she worked with delicacy rather than speed. Beneath the creased shirts and ancient trousers, under trinkets from a lost life, Blaze found the perfect clue to solve their present mystery. Gingerly, she pulled it from the depths, giving it a quick glance to ensure it was modern.
"Silver!" She winced at her own loudness, throwing a glance around the room, but it truly seemed they were alone in here, "Newspaper."
Immediately, the hedgehog flew over, abandoning his own search and coming to land beside her. She unfolded the paper gently, feeling its age in her hands. The intensity in his eyes was undeniable as he looked over her shoulders, so the feline's gaze soon fled back to the pages.
A colour image of a skyscraper knocked over with a sand dune burying its upper portion was plastered on the front page; it looked to have been taken from a helicopter. There was evidence of car crashes upon the nearby road, clearly the event had been destructive, perhaps even unexpected. Judging by the police gathered about the fallen building, the photo had been taken not long after the structure had fallen. Judging by other indications on the front page, the event had occurred without warning. She couldn't help but grimace at the thought of those who'd been inside.
"Localised sandstorm knocks over office block, first in series of impossible weather events spread globally," Read the newspaper's title, a date plastered in its top right corner, "Worldwide panic ensues as countless lives are lost. Planes fall from the sky and bridges crumble," The following lines confirmed.
It was perfect- despite its morbidity, it was exactly what they needed! Her eyes flickered up to the hedgehog and caught that intense look again. A mixture of pain and excitement had claimed him, he was plainly happy that she'd found the resource but the loss of life clearly irked him. Even still, like before, the emotions weren't crushing him externally, no matter how they burned internally. They'd save those people, just as they'd save everyone else. He was steadfast in that belief, so she would cling to it too. They'd fix this; they would save this world.
"This is great Blaze, we know what days to avoid returning to. We can read through and get more surrounding details, see if there's any evidence of the others," He stepped closer still, "Although," He stretched around the feline, brushing her arm, "This is dated three weeks from when we left the present, things certainly weren't good for long..."
"It is an unfortunately short window. Perhaps the others weren't expecting another attack so soon," As silence hung in the air, she dared to reach up and ruffle through his quills, "We'll manage to save them, we have a heading now."
Perhaps their positions truly had swapped, now she was the one speaking openly of what was obvious. In their lasts life, he had been the one to state the obvious to enforce it. He'd felt the need to highlight everything aloud, would she end up the same? What would she highlight? Her finding the newspaper had been more born of desperate luck than a calculated approach. She felt so foolish but she couldn't pull away.
"We will. Now that we're together, I feel unstoppable," She heard him insist and felt his body tense, "We'll find even more evidence, chart this whole apocalypse so we can undo it."
Well, the more things changed the more they'd stay the same.
"We're almost done here," She tried to retake the lead, "Let's clear through the last of the rubble and settle on where to search-
Movement in the corner of her eye tore the feline's attention away from the hedgehog and in the direction of the cassino's entryway. The blocking of one of his psychic motes had revealed a presence, something floating above the ground and to the left. It was relatively small but plainly metallic; a pill shaped device with three claws protruding from near its centre, spinning like a top with a pulsing read beacon near the far end of its length.
The moment she'd clocked it, it had started to flee. She saw the hedgehog's psychic motes moved to crash into the drone, two bounced off of its metal exterior but it wasn't enough to stop the spindly craft! Before he could stop it the device was outside and, almost instinctively, they were in pursuit.
"Keep it safe!" Blaze demanded, shoving the paper into the hedgehog's chest as she hurried.
"Don't destroy it if you can, it might lead us to others," Jumping over a table, Blaze heard him call from her right, "An Eggman base might be around here!"
She took on his words as she leapt over more clutter, feeling her temperature rise as she burst forward. The building just wasn't made for running through, even ignoring mess; there were pillars and displays all around, slowing her process. In the dark it was easy enough to track the machine, its glowing beacon stood out against both the shade and Silver's light, but panic struck as it escaped the cassino.
Frustrated at the barriers, the cat jumped to the air and used a burst of flame to launch herself forward. Her thoughts were only just able to move faster than her body, plotting steps ahead. The drone could fly, but the day was cloudless. Either way, if it flew high enough, it would disappear from view. Silver would stand a chance catching up, but they'd be separated and more vulnerable.
Now outside, she threw her gaze to the sky, finding it a cloudless sunset orange rather than the blue of earlier. Almost immediately she caught sight of it vanishing over a dune, racing roughly eastward! It was higher than before, but it hadn't disappeared into the sky yet!
Flames ignited at the feline's heels, scorching the sands a crystalline black as she raced off; even if Silver lingered to gather what they'd found, he'd know what way to race! The cat shot off again, rushing with all her might but finding the terrain was to her disadvantage. While she then had to race down the other side of the sand pile, the small robot was able to simply fly straight over the gap. As a result, she almost immediately lost sight of the drone again as it slipped behind another dune, a wall of sand the cat herself had to clamber up.
A look was thrown backward, she found her black trail was lingering in the sand, but the undulation of the dunes kept both the cassino and her companion out of view. When her gaze snapped to the front, she found that the path ahead of her was set to steeply drop. She slid, crouching low, igniting more to compensate for the angle and feeling flames flare from her back.
Looking back for the hedgehog was no longer an option, not until he caught up. If this machine was aiming to separate the pair of them, or lure her into some sort of trap, it was certainly succeeding. The cat began to bounce her attention between the path she was walking and the robot, making sure it was still ahead of her but the sands weren't disturbed.
Time became almost entirely lost on Blaze, as she continued to shoot after the device. It never turned or changed in any way from its straight path, always keeping a consistent height above the ground- now beyond the reach of the cat's jet boosted jump. Only her partner could achieve a matching height, soaring up to grab at-
"Blaze! I'm here!" A familiar voice called out from behind her.
She threw a look back and saw Silver was catching up, flying at speed but plainly weighed down by the heavy rucksack on his back and the fact he was now carrying her one- she'd shed it during their search! He was keeping pace but stood no chance of overtaking, let alone getting in range of the strange machine. If he shed the bags he could surely have caught up though, if not simply got in range and tore the robot from the sky. He was flying a fair distance above her, but not nearly matching the machine's height.
"We need to just keep chasing it, it might be rigged to explode if it's stopped, I've had that happen before. Not seen a drone quite like this though!" The psychic called forward, "This is our best lead, bases don't pop up overnight! We find it, cross reference with the news paper, then we tell the others."
"We might have to run for miles more," The cat reminded him, "We have no idea where if it will even come to a stop, let alone when."
"It's flying, so it should take the most direct route," She looked away as he disappeared behind the dune she'd just clambered over, again just managing to catch sight of the drone, "If we know there's not another option, then we can bring it down!"
If the worst came to the worst, then either one of them could easily push themselves and bring it down. A single well placed fireball, a telekinetic tug or some combination of the two would be more than enough to stop this machine in its tracks... though all of those options may prevent them salvaging much knowledge from it. He knew what he was doing, this was to him as royal life was to her; whether he enjoyed his current position was irrelevant, but he was more than completely adapted to fulfil his role. She would trust his choice, just as he had so often trusted hers.
Blaze lessened her flames, wanting to make sure they still had a track to lead them back to the city but no longer worrying about him having to follow. A feeling of relief washed over her with that change, a certain comfort that came with knowing they hadn't been separated on this dead world. That feeling was interrupted as another caught her off guard, she slid down the dune at breakneck speed only to notice the environment had totally shifted after that sudden feline.
The terrain had flattened, were they outside of the city? The great dunes have become so much less common, only a few dotted their surroundings; her view of the hovering drone was completely clear! Even the sunset was plain to see, finally lowering onto a visible horizon. In the distance she could see green shapes looming on the horizon, in the direction of her approach.
Those green shapes were soon identified to be cacti; if Silver's earlier guess about the city's concrete was correct, then they had most certainly escaped Station Square. The dunes were so much less common here, so much less steep to, because they weren't built with skyscrapers and other buildings to act as their core. They were just sand built on sand!
They sped by those cacti, scarcely getting a look at them as the cat found herself able to run more comfortably. Without the endless slopes and harshly uneven terrain of before, though her pace didn't slow the effort required to keep up with the drone had greatly decreased. Moving like this, the pyrokinetic was entirely comfortable looking back and speaking with ehr companion.
"We've left Station Square, I'm almost certain," The cat relayed to him.
"I agree, I can see more plants spread far away. Thought we might have hit an oasis by now, but there's still no clouds. Maybe all the water is gone?" He hypothesised.
"That does sound like something Eggman would be foolish enough to do, that or isolate it all in one area," Blaze considered aloud, "I'm not sure how well it fits with what we've read in the newspapers though."
"Even if he'd made some sort of machine that could control sand, or made some sort of weapon from it, you'd still expect rain. It's not like it doesn't rain at the beach or where sand is used in construction, the whole environment has changed," He pointed out, she could imagine that his brow had furrowed hard in contemplation, "Maybe he did it in stages?" He seemed to mentally crumple his theory and throw it out, "I suppose it's still to early to tell."
"Sooner we figure out where this thing is going, the sooner we'll be able to hypothesise," Blaze responded.
"After that, we can bring down as many of them as we have to," She heard him rearrange the bags carried about his person, trying to better distribute the weight, "Provided we aren't run all the way to the horizon."
"If this machine is smart, I don't think that's impossible," Blaze cooly responded, "It's uncommon, but some of these robots have the intelligence required," She threw a glance upward only to almost stumble and quickly return her gaze to the empty path ahead, "Rarely one as small as that though, typically their personality shines through their construction..."
"The Metal Sonics I've seen aren't much like the original, but I get what you mean," The hedgehog confirmed, "Eggman seems to plaster a face or some sort of quirk on the machines that have more advanced intelligence, it'd be weird if this one did."
Blaze's mind trickled back to what few Eggman adjacent adventures she'd had, and the parallel she'd drawn was proving all the more true. Even if some were his descendant's inventions, the most important robots at his beckon call either had a port for him to manually operate them or a face and some sort of personality. Whiskers and Johnny were the two that came to mind, how starkly over the top they were. She'd only briefly encountered a so called Metal Sonic recently, and it had been almost entirely taciturn.
Come to think of it, if this was Eggman's doing, neither this drone nor the state of the world had the makings of his work on it. Even if most of his robotics had been buried, there should have been a few lingering pieces. If casinos and skyscrapers had survived the sand, then surely the machines designed to weather attacks from all sides would last this long? The basic peon machines the fool sent out weren't the toughest ever, but they'd travelled so far and this was Station Square of all places. Surely they should have passed an arm or a leg, if not an entire machine.
Instead, they'd only encountered a single drone. It hadn't drawn others, there was no flock, just a single seemingly useless machine that was now fleeing them. It didn't have a face or an Eggman insignia painted on, let alone the space for a personality. No arms for flailing, no voice-box from blurting out inane nonsense and a distinct lack of the usual popping colours that weird man seemed to use. If this robot was something smarter, it'd almost certainly confirm that the Doctor wasn't behind this apocalypse and-
"Blaze, stop!" The cat came to a screeching halt, she threw her gaze back to the air only to find the drone had vanished. Again, thoughts had taken over; Blaze had lost track of time. She looked back to him, thinking he might have finally decided to grab it, only to find him stopped a few feet back.
Between the two of them, more than four hundred feet off the ground, the drone was hanging still.
"I've never seen anything like this, why would it stop?" He shouted across the gap, before looking to the ground, "Is the base buried?"
"Maybe?" Was all Blaze could manage in response, refusing to look away from the machine.
She heard the sounds of psychic whirring, cyan light entered the edge of her vision, only for it to quickly cease, "If it is here, then it must be buried really-
The light at the top of the drone turned from red to green in the blink of an eye, the claws that stuck out of it collapsed inward. All of a sudden the drone was falling, tumbling top over bottom toward the ground a tremendous speed. She caught sight of the hedgehog jumping backwards and did the same, quickly concluding that the device might explode... but it didn't. It crashed to the sand with perhaps the most mundane thunking sound ever, scattering a small amount of sand into the air.
Silence hung the between the pair of them for a beat, tense glances were quickly exchanged.
"The drone is almost certainly old," She said, having been unable to get a good close look, "But it'd be foolish to think it has run out of charge."
The hedgehog nodded, "It was fleeing in a direction certainly, heading toward something, even if it was just this open space," He glanced around their surroundings, this flat land with a few scattered cacti and a thoroughly dehydrated tree, "Maybe it didn't want to explode in a space with objects to use as barricades, or dunes to jump behind?"
"It's possible..." She hummed, tapping her foot, "In all your travels, have you found a way to check for explosives?"
"Contact usually causes the detonation, but this one was programmed to run from us. Maybe it was programmed better than past ones, Eggman has planned for me before," The hedgehog grimaced, "I have an idea, but maybe back up a little further, just to be safe."
"Will you be safe?" Blaze interrupted his scheming.
"I should be? It just depends how big the explosion would be," He answered but, even at this distance he could clearly read her frown, "I'll be as safe as I possibly can be, I promise. I'll keep a good distance away until I'm confident."
Though she was unconvinced, the cat backed up. She watched as he shed his luggage before crouching down and pressing his palms to the ground. Cyan energy rippled out, coating and raising a mass of sand before it began to reshape. It took a moment for him to get the form right, starting with the torso before before forming a set of arms and legs. Finally, a head with a set of five overlarge forehead quills and two elongated backward ones were formed. The hedgehog had effectively made a doppelganger from their surroundings
As the Silver made of psychokinesis and sand started to walk toward the fallen drone, the real thing took off into the air and circled around to hang high above it. Tension swelled as the hedgehog double reached down and managed to touch the metallic object. The entity managed to fully stand up straight, still holding the device in its hands. A moment past, there was no response. The clone shook the robot, there was no explosion. It was thrown back to the ground to zero response only to be picked back up, dropped again and lightly kicked once for good measure.
"I think it's safe," The real Silver called out, "At the very least, as long as I'm cloaked in psychokinesis, I should be able to get close and pick it up."
Blaze's worry was still flaring, "Maybe just get close enough to see and check it over using your double," She suggested, "Just to be fully safe."
Silver nodded, descending as the psychic clone picked back of the device and raised it for viewing. The psychic hovered around it, conducting the clone to turn it for viewing different sides. He brought a hand to his chest fur, clearly tugging it as he thought. From Blaze's position it was difficult to make out the intricacies of the design, whether there was any imprinted writing on its mass or damage from the years it'd spent in the sand. In the cat's opinion, if this truly was one of Eggman's machines, it looked to be a uniquely sleek robot with none of his usual trimmings. With its claws now locked away, it simply looked to be an overlarge dark green pill with a light on one of its ends.
Something wasn't right. Was this some sort of decoy? Bait meant to lure them in? But why would it lure them out into the middle of the desert, on a cloudless day, where any attackers could be seen approaching from miles away? if the attack was set to come from underfoot, the only hidden direction, then why would it be designed to drop to the ground? In the hopes of pulling them to a single spot? Why this particular place though? Why not a mile or so back, they'd still have been outside the city.
"There's no latch to open and poke around in its insides. No sign of any significant breakage either, doesn't look like the fall really damaged it... I can see a charging port though, like the dock on a phone," He relayed, sounding more at peace than he had before, "That green light is still shining, I wonder what changed..."
Blaze turned her stare to their surrounding, looking for any answer she could give him. This spot was just so mundane, more of a regular desert than where they'd been before. The dunes were out of sight now, the closest thing to a barrier they could use were the nearby cacti and withered tree. They'd been drawn into the open, but what was the cause for that? If the device was primed to explode that would make sense.
Was it trying to draw them away from something important? A relic or a chaos emerald? Whatever had happened, the weather had been so starkly changed, enough to cause global crises. They still had such a narrow scope of the world and its state, they hadn't even managed to fully read that newspaper. Maybe there'd be something in there?
"It's getting late," Blaze pointed out, looking to the rapidly darkening horizon, "The desert is cold at night. We need a plan."
"Yeah, we do," He had his counterpart set the drone down before being dismissed, turning it to tumbling sand, "We could try to head back to the city, but I'm going to need a moment," He confessed, "I'm sort of exhausted, I've never really done anything like that so I haven't done it efficiently before," He flew to land next to her, an awkward look on his face, "Maybe it was stupid to focus so much energy mimicking how my quills are quaffed... I wanted to make the best replica possible. You know, just in case there was a camera on it or something."
"It was probably a waste," She couldn't help but snort, "If it weren't for our bags, I'd feel confident running us back to the cassino. If this device is set to lure other machines to us, that's a problem no matter where we bring it. The same issue arrises if it is set to explode, carrying it psychically permanently probably isn't viable."
"I'm sure it'll need to charge eventually, it probably wouldn't have that port otherwise," Silver pointed out before wincing, "But now that it's landed, who knows how long it will take till it needs to plug in. It could be days, weeks even," His hand moved to his chest fur as he pondered aloud, "I've seen roosts and open sockets for Eggman devices before, the smaller sort that don't contain flickies; this kind of looks like one of them. Certainly didn't detect a Chaos emerald or similar energy source inside it."
He turned to wander over to the nearby cacti, looking them up and down. Quizzically, the cat followed his footsteps but caught herself before fully following. It was odd to see him juxtaposed against a background like this; she'd seen him at the beach but the cacti and sinking sun provided something new. The two of them had gained a sort of mutual appreciation for nature having remembered a world so starkly without it; although this world was anything but natural, the sight of new biota was plainly drawing them in. Well, she wanted to think it was drawing them both in, it was plainly holding his attention as his hand found his chest fur and thoughts plainly bubbled.
Blaze knew she shouldn't stare, she should have been splitting her gaze between the downed drone and their surroundings, she trusted him to act wisely or call for help if needed. But he just looked so good in his element; no necessarily comfortable, for how could anyone be in a world so devastatingly changed, but as if he knew by instinct what he was doing. It was a strange thought to have, given how disparate the destroyed worlds he encountered apparently were.
Again her attention was drawn to his frame, the roll of his shoulder blades partially hidden by fluff. As he reached down to cast psychic light deep into the sand his whole posture changed; his right foot planted ahead of the left, his knees bent as his fingers coiled skyward. She wanted to call his movement graceful, but she knew it was born of practice rather than inherent smoothness. She had seen him stumble and throw out stiff arms, the hedgehog had grown beyond that now.
As he buried deeper with his psychic power, thoughts from the casino remounted within Blaze's mind. Silver had grown; she had found the newspaper and picked up a small share of the phones, but she couldn't think her search was anything but slopy when compared to the rolling of his psychokinesis. There was a certain degree of intuitive strategy, plainly second nature to him now, that she no longer exceeded. She was aware of the scars beneath his deep fluff, born of the experiences he'd had walking the futures, but not how they'd shaped him.
Blaze supposed it was easier to see his changes then understand her own. She was certain that she'd changed, grown in a few directions, but they were indiscernible to her as she stood next to him. Perhaps he'd just had more growing to do? Maybe she'd grown up quickly in both lives? He'd kept more of his innocence about him?
No, this change wasn't purely mental; there was an undeniable physical aspect, she'd noticed as much. He was wiser and more skilled than she recalled, but the difference in his physicality was undeniable. She'd always seen him as short, soft, headstrong, explosive and exceptionally naive. The foolish boy she'd felt the need to shield was now in the position of shielding her, it just felt so bizarre. She'd find her footing and stand ahead of him again soon, surely?
"I don't think there is a base under here, the cactus roots go way too far down," The hedgehog's words returned her to reality, even though they were broken by a yawn, "I've found water in the deep sands, if you want to drink, I can refill our canteens while we're here."
"Alright," She answered, only half listening. Again, the need to act was welling within her chest, "I think I've decided, we should head back to the dunes to make camp. Ideally you'll be able to reveal a building, empty enough that we can rest inside," Even though she was sure he understood what she was suggesting, Blaze felt the need to lecture further, "I think being exposed is a bad idea, but going all the way back to the Casino seems too difficult."
"I closed the doors there before I left, just in case," He shot her a thumbs up as he psychically reached out, drawing a canteen from one of their bags, "It should be safe whenever we make and back. If it's not, well, we'll know we're being watched and this desert is more active than we thought, I guess?
Despite him clearly being exhausted, sweat on his brow and weariness in his eyes, he held the green metal container toward her. She tutted something about him being naive as she pushed it back toward him, making her insistence clear. He did hesitate but, after catching her stare, the hedgehog unscrewed the cap and took a long swig.
"Where there's one machine, there'll surely be others. It would be a strange coincidence if the only remaining one found us so quickly," Blaze put forward, "But if they're all like this, then we shouldn't have much trouble. Are drones like this usually the ones to survive?"
As he swallowed, holding the canteen back out to her, he shook his head, "Usually it's the more stationary sort, or those on patrol in isolated areas; typically underground. Flying around up here, just the rain from the years should have worn it down," She took the flask from him, eyes lingering on the mouthpiece, "It looks pretty untouched though, by weather or anything else. Maybe the world really has changed... but there has to have been some rain the past 200 years, cacti couldn't grow without that."
"It would require some rainfall certainly, not a lot but..." Ignoring more foolish thoughts rushing through her head, she took a swig from the container.
Before she knew it, the flask was empty. She caught him looking up at the sky, "We left in winter, you'd expect this to be a wet season if there was one... unless things really have got messed up," He sighed and shrugged, "Weirder things have happened and will happen."
She held the vessel back toward him, "It's a different sort of strangeness than I'm used to, but I don't think it's stranger than what we lived through before."
"I guess that future is probably still is strictly the oddest," The hedgehog conceded, "We'll figure it out."
He turned back to the cacti and the pit he'd dug, waving a glowing hand over it. She heard the sands beneath him begin to churn, only just audible above the whir of his psychic power. Moments later, it was as if he'd conjured a small geyser; perfectly pure looking water, shining with cyan light, rose from the pit in a single line, perfectly directed to the canteen's opening. He'd never been in a world like this, but clearly his technique was practiced. He'd known where to find the water, how to separate it from the sand and then purify out the dirt. She would have happily stood and watched in awe, if it wasn't for a noise pulling her attention away.
Something perked Blaze's left ear, in the direction of the drone and their baggage. Her brow furrowed as she turned, only to find the machine was perfectly still. Its light though had changed from pulsing a dull green to a bright blue.
"Silver?" As she called his name, Blaze caught his gaze switching to the device.
It took a moment longer for Blaze to recognise the sound, long enough for it to grow close and alternate from a light whistle to a cracking rumble. It wasn't a common sound to her, but she had heard it on the high seas of her world. The sudden arrival of a storm, breaking the peace.
Sunset had finally stretched into night, but the once clear sky now had clouds to blot and blank the stars. Clouds that were whipping and whirling in lines and circles like she'd seen no wind move them before. It was only as the sands began to shift at her feet, not induced by the device but the surrounding winds, that the princess put two and two together. Freak weather events, a sandstorm manifesting at the heart of a city. Eggman had taken control and then lost control of the weather!
Silver's back pressed against hers, psychokinesis whirled and rattled, just in time to break a wave of sand that had been encroaching to their right.
"I guess it was a trap," She couldn't help but muse aloud, stepping closer still to him in an attempt to properly brace.
"Sorry," She heard regret pang in his tone, just in time for a massive hemisphere of psychokinetic energy to stretched out and act to seal their surroundings, "But we'll get through this, we've been through worse!"

"And it's not like the spell is locked behind a glass wall in some faraway astral space (or at least, it shouldn't be... it can be. This is too much for one post, let's stay on topic)" oh please, please elaborate! 🙏
its all well and good for me to use a metaphor that magic is ever-present and really close at hand, nigh tangible, even,
but there's obviously more than that to successful manifestation.
like it's an actual large deal in practical sorcery of how the hell you get the spell to do something, or much more relevantly do what you want it to do.
so a while ago I used to talk on manifestation using a metaphor that there is a conceptual sphere of glass that separates physical reality from magical reality.
as the metaphor (analogy?) would have it, you can set intent and focus willpower and manipulate astral energies all you want, but those things are stuck in magical reality, blocked from manifesting in the physical world by the glass.
so the spell, obviously it's a good boy and it wants to be helpful, it's going around and around the glass looking for a crack or a foothold to find its way into physical reality.
but this spell is made out of a finite blob of energy. sooner or later, the battery is going to run dry. and all that time it's spending trying to get into our world is burning energy.
by the time it gets here, it could have burned a lot of energy and it doesn't have a lot left to produce strong results. or maybe it doesn't find its way at all.
if this is all true, then the solution is to make cracks in the glass yourself.
overall it's a pretty rough analogy and I'm not even terribly sure if I'd consider it to be more than a parable at this point.
to mash this idea together with the underwater shark thing, the concept would sort of be like...
okay, so let's say metaphorically half of a person is above water and the rest is underwater.
and we're where there are sharks, which means the WHOLE OCEAN is under there.
maybe the ocean is an elegant metaphor for the supreme depths of magical reality. certain layers of magical reality are very close to the surface and truly are interacting with the floating humans, right?
but we can go deeper, and deeper, and deeper.
it wouldn't be true to say that a fish from a mile down is touching the floating humans. it's actually really far away and has a long way to travel before it could touch them at all.
so hypothetically, while all humans are (hypothetically) always partially within magical reality, that doesn't mean that everything within magical reality is close to them or can easily access them.
and this would also be true of spells, when the sorcerer has inadequately developed the spell too far down (or too far up), or failed to properly draw the spell to the surface.
of course, all of these ideas assume it's true that when spells are created they exist somewhere far away, or in any location at all.
just to clarify I think all of these ideas are most useful when treated as thought exercises and not in any sense literal. I think its perhaps true of witchcraft, or at least the kinds of witchcraft I'm familiar with, that one of the witch's primary sorcerous (and mystical) jobs is to "bridge the gap" and learn how to bring things back and forth between our world and the spirit world.
but even that being said, I think there's an element of mysticism in sorcerous witchcraft. I think maybe the best way to talk about it is in stories, or extended spatial analogies, because that's just about the truest way some of it can ever be written down.
sometimes I feel like if anyone can really write it down, like step-for-step for real, then it's got to be one tiny part of it. because it's a big machine out there, you know. it's so decadently complex that it might be more alive than we are.
so it's good to know how one or two cells work, step-for-step. but in the bigger picture, maybe the best way to impart knowledge is in stories and poetry.
and with some step-for-step details of the biology of a few kinds of cells, and with some nice poetry, maybe a person can crest a cliff and see something that will put its own stories inside of their mind forever.
which is to say that I don't know how magic works but i've seen some nice landscapes out there ✌

Finally back to the SS rewrite. Got through the lack of motivation. This is gonna be a long one so enjoy.
So Dark died, and light is essentially hospitalized.
Things calm down for a bit as rainbow takes light to try and heal him.
Nightmare shows up looking for rainbow. He struggles in the search and decides to use a machine to clone himself so he can cover more ground. The process leaves him weaker though so he reversed it and goes to continue his search
Eventually he tracks down rainbow and light, capturing the two and trapping them in the nightmare dimension.
(Side Note: I think conceptually it’d be cool if the dimension was made through manipulating an end crystal to forge a pocket dimension of his own.)
So light goes missing and Rainbow is left heavily weakened.
Nightmare eventually drags Sabre into the nightmare realm too, while stranded, Sabre finds rainbow in a crater with half of his color gone and his powers clearly not working right. He puts rainbow into a makeshift machine for the time being until he can find a way to help him. Eventually he finds nightmare harvesting shadow stone and gets the idea to steal some so he can potentially use it to help rainbow.
After getting the shadow stone, Sabre uses several colors of wool to refine the shadow stone into the first version of rainbow stone.
Rainbow recovers after getting the rainbow stone infused into him and the two work together to track down Light Steve and find a way out.
They find light nearly dead, still suffering from his wounds and try their best to keep him alive while they build an exit portal.
Once free, the three decide to start building a base of operations that can act as a sanctuary from nightmare and any other dangers out there for them and any other remaining steves. They decided to build… The Rainbow Town (shocker, ik. I would make an attempt at revamping it myself but I don’t have the patience or equipment for it rn)
The install an area to function as a sort of hospital/infirmary type thing for light to rest in securely until he’s properly healed
So after the building is done they spend a few more months dealing with nightmare’s attempts at destroying their home. They start planting rainbow trees to give rainbow a power boost within the area, and plant the rainbow tree of life. The most notable event before the final fight was nightmare sending rainbow to the reverse dimension (more on that in a later post) and leaving him powerless and in such a damaged state that it begins to make him degrade mentally.
Anyway final encounter. Nightmare invades, causes damage, light tries to hold him off and gets absorbed. As Nightmare is closing in on rainbow, ready to finally just kill this nuisance, he feels a burning pain in his body. His markings and eyes start to glow white as his body begins to crack.
Tumblr media
And then finally his body is engulfed in a burst of light as every augmentation he’s had is burned out of his body by the absorbed light Steve. When all is said and done, nightmare is left unconscious, now just a normal yellow steve and light is back, but once again critically injured, now in a comatose state.
Sabre and rainbow decide to place light inside the rainbow tree of life in the hopes that one day he will be able to heal and rejoin them. But even if he doesn’t, he finally achieved his original purpose. The original beacon of hope had finally ended the nightmare that’d plagued their people for generations.
As for nightmare steve, they opted to imprison him in a heavily secured machine deep in the rainbow town bunker, armed with a four sided lock in mechanism, lava and redstone rings as power dampeners, two full redstone batteries as emergency power, and a vault door. Essentially a maximum security solitary confinement cell.
And that’s all I’ve got for this post. Hopefully I’ll be able to make more for this series now that I’ve gotten through the part I was struggling to write out. Even now I’m not fully happy with it but it’s good enough.
As always, lmk your thoughts on what I did here and have a good day/night!

i really just can't take any bidenomics reflection about how certain initiatives failed to influence voters seriously if the reflection fails to acknowledge the information crisis and the relative stupidity of the average swing voter--and i give less credence to any political analysis that refuses to frame "democratic failure" as even a little bit the result of republican opposition/electoral wins--
but this article's brief "to be fair" section about the accomplishments of the biden administration's major legislative victories was a neat summation and also sort of shows how rolling back parts of the IRA may not be easy or all that motivating for an already fractious and narrow-majority republican house:
Still, the market-making bills that did pass were momentous. To give credit where due: Biden’s green industrial policy was a technocratic tour de force. Learning from Obama’s fiscal timidity, his staffers understood that lightly nudging markets would not suffice to meet the climate crisis. This is because of what economists call a market failure. Developing foundational technologies is often initially prohibitively expensive, because of low immediate consumer demand or lack of economies of scale. Private investment is unlikely to take the risk—and needs a helping shove (and often some security) from the state.  Bidenomics was that shove. The clean energy strategists Lachlan Carey and Jun Ukita Shepard have described the relationship between its three bills in anatomical terms. The CHIPS Act is the “‘brains’ of the operation,” underwriting billions to foundational research in energy biofuels, advanced battery technology, and quantum computing. The Infrastructure Act is the backbone, supporting not only traditional roads, ports, and water infrastructure but also clean hydrogen, low and zero-emission transit buses, and EPA Superfund projects to clean up contaminated sites. The IRA is the financial heart of the machine, subsidizing both the production and consumption of green technology. The lions’ share of federal spending has been directed at foundational research and development and the initial scaling up of markets—the stage, as Carey and Shepard put it, “where private markets are less likely to invest in research, development, demonstration, and early commercialization.”
Bidenomics also aims to onshore entire supply chains. For instance, the Section 45X Advanced Manufacturing Tax Credit supports the domestic production of components for wind and solar energy, battery development, and electric vehicles. Take solar panels: the credit offers $3 per kilogram for manufacturing polysilicon, which transforms sunlight into electricity. Companies turning that element into components for solar cells receive $12 per square meter. The next links up the chain receive credits—ranging from $40 to $70 per kilowatt—based on how much electricity their cells and panels produce. Along with a range of other subsidies for aluminum and other core components, these credits are projected to reduce the costs to producers of domestic solar by more than 40 percent, according to Advanced Energy United, a consortium of green energy businesses. They have been effective: the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that wind turbine service technicians and solar photovoltaic installers will be the fastest-growing occupations through 2033. As far as energy and component production goes, the IRA was responsible for some 646 energy projects (either announced or underway) that have produced 334,565 jobs as of August 2024. The Swiss firm Meyer Burger used 45X to complete building facilities in Goodyear, Arizona. The US manufacturer First Solar made a $450 million investment in a new R&D center in Perrysburg, Ohio, which they commissioned in 2024; hiring is underway for an estimated three hundred new positions to be filled this year. Perhaps most impressive, the South Korean corporation Qcells invested more than $2.5 billion on a solar-cell and module production facility in Dalton, Georgia—which anchors a region devastated by the decline of the textile industry. That campus employs two thousand full-time workers who produce 5.1 gigawatts worth of solar panels each year, the most of any site in the country.
Clean energy manufacturing requires semiconductors, which are the building blocks of solar cells as well as the digital components of wind turbines, electric vehicles, and advanced energy storage. Every electric vehicle contains between two to three thousand chips. As the pandemic shortage made clear, US industries relied overwhelmingly on foreign production. This is where the CHIPS Act came in. The legislation granted $50 billion to the Department of Commerce: $11 billion for semiconductor research and development and $39 billion for chip manufacturing and workforce training. The resulting surge of private investment has been impressive. According to the Financial Times, by April 2024 some thirty-one projects worth at least $1 billion had been founded since the act was passed, compared to just four in 2019. By that point the government had spent just over half of the act’s incentives. Since the election the Biden administration has been working to get the rest of the subsidies to businesses. Leading recipients include Intel, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), Samsung, and Micron. In December the commerce department announced that Texas Instruments could receive as much as $1.61 billion in direct CHIPS funding for projects in Texas and Utah. The department now predicts that by 2030 domestic markets could produce a fifth of the world’s chips; until very recently, the US produced none.
[...] The Trump administration could theoretically shut down many of Biden’s green initiatives. But the electoral benefits to Republicans would be unclear: most of the IRA’s recent projects are based in congressional districts with Republican representatives. It’s more likely that they will redirect subsidies to their districts and preferred businesses—including in the extractive sector—and brag about job growth. They are already at it. In 2023, when Kamala Harris appeared at the Qcells plant in Dalton, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene accused her of “trying to take credit for jobs that President Trump and Governor Kemp created in Georgia back in 2019.”

DAIMA EP 13 (Spoiler) Review/theories
• Ooh! Dis day gourmet animation.
• In this episode, Vegeta demonstrates his utter lack of respect for animals. (But why though?)
• Oh & another plane crash. The endgame is further away than I thought.
• It never occurred to me that the Warp-Sama could be shut down! Degesu seemed oddly distressed. Perhaps one of his secret plans hinged on traveling between worlds. (Or he could just be stressed about how everything's falling apart.) Dr Arinsu is currently unaware of the fact that she's basically been cut off from the other two D balls thanks to being called by Glorio, ironically enough. Will she finally attempt a sort of coup using Majins Duu & Kuu, or gaslight girl boss her way into getting King Gohma to reactivate Demon world 1's Warp-Sama?
• While "Majilite"(a fuel source that converts acidic water in up to 30 years of battery life) is not a direct parallel to "sky gold" from the Super manga, my mind just can't separate the two. And don't even get me started on "Blue No. 15 electro-fluid" that powers time machines.
• This episode will no doubt be compared (as nauseam) to episode 6 of GT. But the jungle area & vibes for the most part reminded me more of episode 4 of the 2011 Thundercats reboot, except as gorgeous as the Super Broly movie.
• It almost felt like Neva has a little history with Planet Mega. He did have thousands of years to explore the entirety of world 2. Since he didn't seem worried about the plane he was in potentially crashing, I think the reason he panicked when he realized the group had landed on "Planet of Mega" was because he was more worried that everyone else would perish, leaving his dragon balls in the hands of either King Gohma or Dr Arinsu. The wrong hands.
• Sure hope Piccolo gets his time to shine in the Final Battle™, at least.
• Bulma & Panzy finally get their bonding scene. With a little lore dump about Majilite, how it works, how it affects the sky of world 2 to a degree, how it's gatekept by King Gohma/world 1 to an extent & sort of implying that the Demon worlds are lined up vertically in a "3,2,1" order. (A conversation worth memorizing.)
• Planet of Mega was fun. Though, much like Planet Batapi from episode 3, we'll probably never explore Planet of Giga...
• I found the scene where World 1's Warp-Sama was disabled oddly heartbreaking. I hadn't realized I'd grown attached to them. And why the foreboding lighting strike in the background?
• So an adult Megath could probably beat Perfect Cell. Noted. Wonder what a Gigath toddler can do.
• Yo, why'd they make it look like Goku was going in for a smooch before taking one last look at the Megaths? I know I'm not tripping, that was on purpose. Lmao.
• Next episode looks exciting. Can't wait to meet that stripe faced, fast munching character.
• Also, that last song was so mystical and pretty. Again, 2011 Thundercats vibes.

"My Human Gets Me Blues."
— Waouh !

World's first flying bike is straight out of Star Wars | #shorts #yahooa...
youtube
Our son and daughter are proposing open class competitions with a weight limitation there's going to be other design parameters and I have to be a certain size and using electric motors and they don't have to specify or the battery if you do it open class you're going to find out which ones are the fastest and handle the best real quick our son and daughter say this arrangement is not that efficient and it looks like it weighs way more than it has to and people agree if there's something up with it yes and they say it's just not enough power but the power is coming off the individual turbines and you can make a blower a lot more powerful than you wouldn't have to do that and people have they can't keep it stable we know how to do that and there are some that are and it would catch on
Hera
There's a lot of these out there and nobody uses them they're too dangerous they don't use the blown air and it's like these grinding machines and people think it's disgusting and it really is you have that on the other one but it's enclosed and protected and it's one main turbine and it goes really damn fast and they are going to start racing and it starts the pond races which is similar is skin along the ground they can fly up in the air but when they're on the ground they have more left and they can go really fast and it's for evading people if you go up there they can just shoot you
Thor Freya
You use the natural area for cover and the backdrop confuses people and makes it hard to hit a lot of times just strange winds on the ground they're different and up in the air the wind stops after a while but yeah you're kind of a sitting duck it's never obstructions and a lot of people figured it out your fly car has to be able to go across all sorts of terrain and Aaron started driving that jeep around the tracks Jeep and other people are driving that kind of thing this works real well by the way if you have this concept is the flying motorcycle or small car and stuff and use a turbine it works great this particular type isn't the best doesn't work so great but it works and it stays stable and people like it
Hera
We have a whole bunch of them where the propellers tuck away but that's all it does
Trump
Jesus steak after it already you annoying prick. There's a whole bunch of these out there they're all kind of suck and people don't use that much and the other type is not prevalent but you guys should race and show that you are better at than others and there's a lot of them they use this for outrig propeller and you'll defeat them all and show them they're wrong and you should have regular races until it turns into a real race and this kind of thing has slowed down he used to have all sorts of flying races want to enter one and you have a certain horsepower propeller a single propeller and they want to use an impeller and I suppose you can do that and I put it in the middle like a MIG and use that design with the Windsor going up in a curve and he wants to build the thing thinks it'll be the fastest and we think so too you're going to be flying on a tube of air I'm kind of vacuum but that vacuum will help you move along it will have lift and it will be up to glide if you run out of power but you'll be charging with solar cells considered a very light and you charge some batteries and you use other ones this is a great idea it might actually catch on and people will fly private planes like that so people might build it because of trying to get sales the impeller is a great idea you can feed it through vented channels that are protected that a whole bird can't fit into and the other channels will still work it's a good idea sometimes you run into the flock of them this thing's going to be great it's a good idea
Thor Freya
That's a weird idea but it will work
Trump
He did that before but we see people are getting up to try and design it
Apollo and Goddess Wife
We need this attention too yeah it's a great idea and the swelled wings of their idea and the structure of the ship so we can glide this is awesome and it will work it'll be really fast you just turn the RPM off and it would be like a geared motor and just have a whole bunch of years it probably go very fast just too fast for you to believe we're getting ready and we're going to start prepping out there for work and to deter people from attacking the cities there's a lot of people there already and more I'm moving in with equipment every hour

This thought has sat at the edges of my mind for some weeks now. I stand typing at the counter. A tablet, mobile phone, and battery powered keyboard at my fingertips.
To my right is a warm pot of banana and peanut butter oatmeal. It is a recipe which comes together simply and quickly. Water, oats, banana, peanut butter.
This morning it was the banana that opened the door for me. As I split the peel and ran my fingers along the fruit’s natural segments I thought of how this simple breakfast is but one piece of the roaring grinding machine of humanity.
I am in a second story apartment, at the edge of a metroplex. It is not even 40 degrees outside my door (a crisp and wet spring morning), and yet here I stand, a piece of tropical fruit, sweet and ripe for the taking in my hand. The vent hood fan roars above the stove as I boil water at the turn of a dial.
Just as we are organisms made of organs, made of tissues, made of cells, made of matter, so too is the dial a convergence of innumerable parts. Electrons and wires bring electricity from a plant where it is produced, the energy is contorted and transformed through mechanisms beyond my understanding. All so that I may, with the turn of a dial, create a warm and sustaining meal, out of wheat that was not hewn by my hands, and tropical fruit-stolen and butchered from another land.
It is possible to become an expert in one field—even multiple, but there is no one alive or dead who will ever be able to understand the full scope of the universe and the world we live in. Everything is always made up of smaller components, and there are millions of categories of components. These parts intermingle and collide. They converge into similar organisms with different origins, and fall into seemingly random patterns that repeat and echo across the vast library of existence.
We are drawn to these patterns, they call us to organize and process—to try and make sense of what is. We observe, sort, trace, copy, study, meditate, praise, and explore the world around us. This is obvious in the social structures around us. Though the delivery methods have changed, life is an endlessly churning river, searching the corners of the universe for meaning and connection. This reality is visible in our most ancient myths. Sacrifices, offerings and rituals are an attempt to exert control and claim understanding over a world which behaves without any semblance of meaning.
As our understanding grows, so too does our awareness of what is knowable. The search for understanding is a vast and uncharted ocean that calls us to explore it. Just as when traversing a physical ocean however, we soon find that distancing ourselves from what is known causes us to forget where we have been.
We exist in the instantaneous moments of present awareness, as well as through the traces our routines leave on the space behind us. We can never go back, and we don’t get to choose what is left behind and forgotten.
I think now of how ethereal my childhood feels in my mind's eye. Once it was a vivid contemporary experience, a moment where I was overwhelmed with emotion. And yet even as I think back, I also remember having the awareness that it was temporary, fleeting. “There will come a time that I will think of this moment” I can recall saying to myself. A young child with their head pressed against the window glass, watching the electrical lines dip and bend over miles and miles and miles of black paved highway. Now, an adult, driving myself the 10 hours across the country to return to the dusty city of my childhood, a place which glows in my memories. The warm nostalgia tempting me to a time where things seem sweeter than they really were. All I can think is “driving is the most dangerous thing you do all day”. We hurtle over the painted white lines at a staggering speed and the cabin shakes when other vehicles blow past us in the opposite direction. Separated only by a double yellow line and the faith that we are all making our best effort to pilot our death-mobiles.
“How odd it must be for her” I think of the child who sits in my backseat. She is not my child of course, how could I afford such a luxury in this economy? No, she is the child of wealthy parents. They find themselves with the privilege and responsibility of growing an entire person, and yet here she is in my backseat. I am just one of many paid caregivers. Currently her chauffeur, but also a paid companion. She too gazes out the back window, watching the power lines as they swoop over us.
And so, while I might consider our experiences to be vastly different, we are at once both young children, gazing through the window of a vehicle, unknowing witnesses to unprecedented levels of technological advancement.
