#bc me trying to make pixel brushes myself is Not Working

Text
down side of combining "ive been wanting to learn how to make pixel art for weeks now" and "im in a super bad place mentally right now" is that i googled how to make pixel art in procreate, but with each article i try to replicate and ultimately fail to do in the way i want, i keep tearing up and im about two seconds from having a full meltdown

Hi! I really love your art and I'm getting into doing digital painting myself now. If it's not too much of a bother could you share some tips on your process, and what program + brushes you use? <3
thank you!! I would say my process is not that out of the ordinary but I’m happy to share :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
for the first sketch, I start REALLY loose. comically loose. this pass is just to get the general vibe and composition of the sketch. (going to be using jojen and meera as an example bc this file still has all parts of the process in tact).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
then I start pulling LOTS of references and working from them. I start trying to get shapes down accurately enough that I have a solid base to work off. then I can clean them up for the final lines
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the only part of my process that I think differs from most is that I’m really terrible with color, so one thing that I learned helps me is to do color comps. i’ll duplicate my line art and then shrink it down until it’s small enough that I can’t focus on details or precision too much and then try and work out color palettes. sometimes the first one works, and sometimes it takes me 3 or 4 recolors, but better for me to do these quick versions than go in blind and hate it at the end. (I unfortunately don’t usually save the ones I don’t use. I wish I could share some options I didn’t go with!) Then I can use my comp as a reference and it’s just a matter of getting the colors in cleanly!
As for programs, I use procreate on an ipad, but for years I used a $60 wacom tablet and clip studio paint that I got on sale. I really think it’s less about the program and more about what’s intuitive for the individual. unless someone tells you to use photoshop. that’s the devil speaking.
Tumblr media
lastly here’s some brushes I use! the basics are both default brushes on procreate (maybe slightly altered, but not by much). I make my canvases on the smaller side to get the rough pixelated look from my sketch brush. for patterns, I pull from old illustrations or fabric! a lot of mine came from ivan biliban or similar illustrators. the stamp brushes are super easy to make and really make clothing look lovely imo :) pattern brushes are a little harder but they’re doable with tutorial help
I hope that helps!!

hi! do you happen to have any tips/advice for creating pixel art? i'm a huge fan of your work and have always wanted to do pixel art myself but i've found it pretty difficult to understand x_x
Hihi!!! Giving advice is hard because I kind of live by the "fuck it, we ball" way of life but I'll try my best!!!
Not necessary in all cases but I think page sizing is important!! I used to draw on like 3000x3000 canvases now I think I only reach that with refs... I think in general it's easier on smaller canvases, and if you need to size up for posting sake, Photoshop can do it [or I think there's sites that can as well?]. If you're wanting to do certain things [icons/icos, rpgm assets, whatever], they do tend to fit into certain constraints so thats important!! Similarly, there's nothing wrong with drawing something on a 1000x1000 canvas and then scaling down the image to 100x100 and lining over it!!
I tend to sketch with non-pixel brushes first unless I'm lazy, just because I feel it makes it easier!!
Tumblr media
A small thing that I'm trying to take heed of too is going back over artwork and deleting some pixels to make the lines less "clumpy" (ofc, it depends on style too! I like thin lines usually though, especially on things that are 48x48 to maximize space!!)
I draw (mainly) in Sai and MediBang (for mobile). Things like MediBang and CSP also have downloadable brushes, which for things like screentoning I find important!! [Usually, I'll draw in MediBang or Sai, edit further in CSP]. For Sai, I just use the standard Binary brush and an edited version as an eraser:
Tumblr media
For MediBang, I just go into settings and check "Turn off anti-aliasing" and use the normal pen brush and eraser; Only word of advice though it it does create some not fully solid pixels, but you can either go over them or duplicate the image a whole bunch and then combine the layers.
As for further stuff I think it's also just important to look at things you like!! What started me into pixel art was playing a lot of rpgmaker games [Ib, Yume Nikki, Mad Father, The Witch's House, ectect] Now I also like things like the art of older systems and games, like TokiMeki Memorial 1994 has some beautiful artwork:
Tumblr media
And the pixel sprites in all the BlazBlue games has been really inspirational in the last couple of years for me as well!!!
Tumblr media
I hope this helps in some capacity 'w'999!!! For me, I think experimenting and playing around with stuff is the most important and having fun!!! [Which is why I'm so inconsistent bc it's just fun to try new things n see what sticks, what you like, can improve on, ectect!!!]

yayayay yippee (≧◡≦) i love how vibrant & lively your art is, i think my fav pieces are Horse Surgery & hanyuu (even tho i have no idea who that is) but that one wip with the rainbow is also v ery special 2me because it reminds me of my fav kind of weather ^_^ generic Which Program Do You Use question & also which programs have you tried so far? which one would you recommend for someone whose only experience so far wiht digital art has been scribbling in ms paint -_-? on topic, what do you draw with (mouse, phone, drawing tablet, ??) & was it easy for you to get used to digital art? i always get overwhelmed by the amound of different functions available so im not sure where to even start, any advice? which physical art forms do you like / would you like to learn (anything at all, i personally have been getting into air dry clay... well actually ive been using my sisters playdoh but maybe ill purchase smthn fancier :3) & final question how do you come up with poses to draw? your characters (+creatures) seem very animated and i really like that :)
HI okay i guess ill answer these in a list. actually will put it under the cut since i ended up saying a lot (and dw i enjoy being able to talk a lot so thank you!)
-THANK YOU im glad some of my more recent works (in my more current style) are appealing 2 people! like i wanna draw my own way even though i think it gets less notes... the higurashi fanarts (hanyuu and shion) r very memorable pieces to me because its when i started doing the loose sketches with the thin lines and block colors and thats the direction i reallyreally wanted to take my style in. also the rainbow is rian my friend rian
-i draw in paint tool sai! the only program i used before that was sketchbook pro, which i didnt like because the brushes were kind of... blurry/smudgy? sai allows you to zoom in and draw pixel by pixel which is something i like, and i like the way it does its blending. its also just easier for me to understand. i didnt pay for it i think i found some deviantart page that had the link, id have to find it again
-i draw with a wacom intuos tablet! its lasted me... almost 10 years now. ive heard newer ones are poorer quality in terms of at least the nibs needing to be replaced constantly, so idk what the most recommended tablet these days is. ive drawn with my mouse and tbh it caused awful hand pain so i would not recommend this. i draw on my phone with my finger sometimes but i find doing it on my laptop easier, however it is doable once you get used to it
-the way i got into digital art... well. i still have an archive of my earliest art if you wanna see! i was 14 n just drew random shit, often lining over doodles i did on paper and coloring them in. i think esp if youre overwhelmed start with making like throwaway experimental pieces, scribble around, doodle stupid things and color them in with different brushes and see what you enjoy. and then you can just keep the files to yourself if they dont look too good or maybe itll look interesting, it depends i guess haha. the other thing that ive always found helped me was telling myself id draw every day even if it was a little scribble or the tiniest amount of work on a wip bc getting a habit going helped my art a Lot beause it helped me spend more time thinking n focusing on it
more specific advice for sai that i found useful- using clipping groups & the preserve opacity functions are both lifesavers in terms of not spending so much time trying to color in the lines. if you color in a base layer you can just put everything above it as a clipping group and just not worry about it anymore. i also really like using the filters (like multiply) to mess around with the colors a drawing has, though sometimes its more effective to just select a layer/individual color and fuck with the hue/saturation/etc until it looks good. when i color, esp when its not turning out how i wanted to, i rely on shifting colors A LOT. n also mixing colors together using a blending brush and then colorpicking the intermediate color. very useful
-for the most part i stick to uncolored pencil doodles on like, notebook paper (even though i have some fancy supplies X[ one day) but i LOVE making things with clay, wish it was more accessible to do at home. i have a handful of clay animal statues and stuff that i made in my ceramics class in high school. would looove to do more
-because my poses tend to be very pushed/cartoony using references of real people isnt always useful (though obv knowing the basics of anatomy always helps) so in those cases ill use other cartoony art i like as inspiration, i try to see what i like about their poses nd emulate that with my own. sometimes when im struggling ill just do a bunch of studies where i copy art i like to try to get a feel for what im missing. mostly ive realized i like when the pose conveys some level of like, volume and taking up a 3D space (which im still definitely not a master of but bullshitting it can be fun). and i also like to have a balance of curved and angular shapes. sometimes i try to just do a pose that conveys a specific emotion or i just make shit up lol
alsooooo i cant reccomend aimless doodling enough! just random shapes, turning the random shapes into creatures, trying and trying and trying different ways to draw something until you like it, i feel like the things my hand makes when i shut my brain off and just scribble can inspire me as well, and i try to emulate whatever i made by chance while doodling. and if your doodles turn out better in traditional i tend to consider using a photo of a drawing as a way to skip the "preliminary sketch" phase nd drawing a rough sketch over that which i then use for my drawing (or just directly color since i draw very fast/lazy...)

I need some kind of a photoshop lesson for this aesthetic of yours
okay i’m gonna do a tutorial real time for a picspam type aesthetic that will look like this ⇣ a photo i will put here once i make it.
Tumblr media
step one. open ps : )
Tumblr media
welcome : )
okay so dimensions r a thing tumblr compresses photos like hella so i do all my still img aesthetics 900x900 is you’re trying to do this for say insta i would actually recommend jumping up to 1080x1080. pixels, obviously. idk if i have to clarify that.
so click ctrl+n or create new i’ll be doing 900x900
Tumblr media
these r the rest of my settings i personally do not think they matter my resolution stays at 72 the only thing i’ve detected this affecting is font size. (side note notice how this pic looks all fuzzy? that’s bc it’s a ss with a boatload of pixels. and if there’s one thing tumblr hates. it’s pixels. and then it’s users. but who’s counting? tumblr is. i recommend keeping ur still images 900x900♥)
step two is collecting ur images i personally use pinterest for these bc quite frankly it’s really nice & easy to find these types of photos esp if you’re looking for a canon character bc if you type in [character name] aesthetic you’ll get stuff if you don’t quite frankly even just type in aesthetic you can scroll until you find an image you like click on that and go through like images underneath it and keep burning thru. like u probably know how to work pinterest. but i am being thorough and covering my bases. searching [color] aesthetic is also nice or even searching a character that isn’t the character you’re doing this for but who’s kind of similar that also works. i recommend esp for charmed bc their pinterest gets bogged down with screencaps and then like. charms like jewelry searching “charmed aesthetic” or “phoebe halliwell aesthetic” really just doesn’t cut it so what i’d recommend is instead of going through pins, go through boards.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
bc like. big difference. other pro tips if you see a board you like, go to the person’s profile and check out their other boards bc odds are you’ll find more you like. another protip if you’re specifically doing ocs typing in oc aesthetic will get you a lot even going to the boards on that as well. yields.
so. you’ve gathered ur images. u need five. open em. i’m making an aesthetic 4 myself which you’ve probably already guessed from the fact i’m putting the finished piece at the top, but it’s not ready yet so it’s still a surprise for me.
cropping. if ur doing a 900x900, use these setting exactly. 1080x1080 use 1080/2 x 1080/3. i’m not doing the math 4 u ♥
Tumblr media
most important part? Delete Cropped Pixels. otherwise ur not really doing anything. crop all five images.
Tumblr media
but them in ur document. document? psd? ur thing ♥ place them places. u do not have to commit now. leave one middle one blank. it does not matter which one. i personally like to alternate my text pieces if i’m doing a long post like what i did on my ncwotng set. some people keep them all on the same side. this lowkey bugs me i feel like it throws off the Balance but i imagine some people like The Consistency. i don’t. but w/e. it’s up to u as this is gonna be ur set. also like. as you’ve cropped these to x/2,x/3 settings they should fit nice like puzzle pieces : )
Tumblr media
the next step i personally like doing is creating by text box with The Color™ do this bc simply duplicating one of ur images, shoving it in the empty slot, and converting into a sharp object. edit contents.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
now. obvi i selected these images w a color scheme in mid. i recommend u do the same. even if it’s just vague. they don’t all have 2 fit. this is my example of my sheridan piece b4 or after. tweaking is possible. layers w masks r ur friend. i can talk about them more if need be.
Tumblr media
But. back 2 the smart object. brush tool. paint it.
Tumblr media
the text i used was times new roman all caps 40pt font 0 spacing for the title and times new roman 14pt font 0 spacing italics for the subheading. here’s my dency b4 and after for comparison
Tumblr media
next step is after you have your text in alright, shove everything into groups. mode on “normal”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
then you can start editing. the groups let you edit things like lighting and color without touching any of the layers below it 👍
i’m not gonna do a Major coloring tutorial, for lighting i’ll usually tinker with exposure, levels, sometimes brightness/contrast. for colors, color balance + hue/saturation. i rarely touch anything else.
i’ll bring u along 4 the coloring of this one bc i’m gonna add a layer mask.
Tumblr media
so the first thing i’m going to do bc the paper itself is already close to the vibe is i’m going to color it normal and just ignore the background
Tumblr media
something like that. then i’m going to add a layer mask (square button w the plus sign)
Tumblr media
and then i’m going to eye dropper a color off from somewhere else
Tumblr media
now i was talking about the “normal” blend mode stops ur color settings from bleeding over onto other images? does not apply to painting on layers but you’re already masking this bad boy, so it doesn’t matter. just don’t say i didn’t warn u
Tumblr media
i’d recommend using a really ridiculous blend mode to clean up ur thing at first, i’m using darken which isn’t that wild but like whatevs.
Tumblr media
add a layer mask using this button.
Tumblr media
select and mask
Tumblr media
use this thing to clean up ur mask
Tumblr media
okay so i did a lot since we last spoke
Tumblr media
but if i impart any lesson to u. it’s: fuck around. find out. that’s literally how i’ve basically done everything. nothing’s ever really gone horribly wrong. click things. see what happens.
Tumblr media
okay so now that you’ve kinda gotten everything figured out. change ur text box color again. i’m introducing u to ye ol trick that is not the paint brush. but. hue/saturation on colorize more yeah babyyyyy
Tumblr media
ahaha yes. love this bad boy.
Now. Trick To Make Everything Super Cohesive™. put things above All of your groups.
Tumblr media
yeah boy.
reorganize ur thing bc u don’t like how it looks.
fuck around w a lot of stuff.
Tumblr media
it’s still cluttered.
fuck it. grab a new image.
Tumblr media
something like that. never let the fear of striking out keep u from playing the game : )
fuck around a bit more.
Tumblr media
vibes♥
save ur image bc u literally Have Not Done That Yet
Tumblr media
& then remember the other thing u forgot to do
eyedropper what ur text box looks like move the whole thing to the tippity top and recolor
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this is just bc u’ve fuck around a lot w a lot f different settings. this ensures that the text stays the same color u set it as.
okay final step.
turn The Whole Thing into a smart object, smart sharpen
leave out the text box tho. the sharpened text can look weird. it’s ur choice, but with these settings,, cronch.
Tumblr media
and wallah. ctrl+shift+s save as png and bada bing bada boom baby. aesthetic

Hiiii!!! I really love your kiribaku fanarts...I've seen that you also draw haikyuu art as well and i'm thrilled to found this out :) (since I'm kinda new here.) have you heard the news that hq!! s4 is confirmed in sept?
I have!!! I wonder how far in they’re gonna get with adapting the manga in it, cause the current arc is being !!!!!! hhhhhhhhh !!!!!! but it’s definitely too much to ask for this game to be adapted in s4 already haha I’m especially hype for Daishou, Hoshiumi and Kita to be animated >:]c
Anon said:Hey!! I love your work!! But I’m curious, how long does it take for you to draw + color what you post? Like on average?
Thank you!! And that really, really depends on what I’m drawing/how much effort I’m putting in/how good I’m feeling about drawing while drawing, so I can’t easily say! For a full colors piece it goes from two or even just one hour (when it’s characters I’m used to draw in simple clothing with no bg/easy poses or anything equally easy) to over two days of constant work (lotsa characters or a character I’m not used to, complex clothing, a huge background, things like that) - the single page illustration that took me the longest to ever finish was my extra piece for the sixth wheel zine and that one was something like five or six days of constant work!
I tend to be very sloppy with what I make though, and my style was built to let me be as fast as I possibly could cause my attention span is minimal orz I’m working on that !!!!
Anon said:I really love the way you draw it’s so beautiful
Thank you so much!!! TTOTT
Anon said:Happy New Year’s! Your art really inspires me to be an artist, so thank you. I’ve only recently discovered your blog, but whenever I see your art it makes me really happy!
Oh man that makes me so happy to hear?? I hope you’re having all the fun in the world with your art!!!!
Anon said:I’m excited to see more luca and nico I’m not ready for their cuteness 🥰
I wanna draw more of them toooooooo !!!!!!! maybe soon!!! I’m so happy to hear you’re excited about them
Anon said:Any tips for lineart, bc mine literally looks like pixels
It would seriously be easier for me to help you if you could tell me which art program you use and which tools, ngl! I don’t really know what you mean with “looks like pixels” since from my experience the only ways to make the lineart look like pixels is to either use the binary tool or to zoom in on the drawing further than 100% (but in the second case it should stop being a problem once you save the drawing anyway) - like this the only tip I can give you is to switch tools around a bit to see what looks best for you! I use Easy Paint Tool SAI as a program and my lining tools are either the default brush tool or (lately) the default pen one, both with sizes between 4px and 6px - it’s really basic tools really! If you’re asking how to make your lines look smooth, then that changes from artist to artist and the best thing I can tell you to do is to keep trying different ways till you find the one that works best for you (again, yes) - my way is to try and interrupt the line while lining as little as I can, which implies a lot of ctrl+z and drawing the same lines over and over again till they look right orz you get faster at it the more you try, at least haha
Anon said:I just saw the drawing of your OC, Dave (I love it and I love him) and I was wondering where you got the inspiration for his shirt? Did you create it or is it actually a design you’ve seen before? Because I love it! I hope you have a nice day! :D
Ah, I made it up myself! He likes cats and he likes music so I mixed the two haha I’m glad you liked it, though!! And I’m glad you liked my boy, too!!!

So uhhhh I drew a lot of RWBY this year... only two of these are non RWBY and tbh I could have just as easily put something RWBY for June Template
Retrospective under the cut bc it’s LONG
RETROSPECTIVE January: First piece of the year! I still like this piece and I think it shows how much I improved from the original version of it. Also I just like looking at it bc it's soft content of my rare pair. I do think I made the rose look photorealistic which looks... bad esp with all the other more stylized flowers, and I got lazy with the bleeding hearts by just drawing one set and flipping them. Emerald's hair also could look better. February:  I made this around GNG week, which was a fun, good time, long before the server imploded on itself. I got really lazy with the backgrounds, obviously, but I do like the poses in this one, tho it helped that I based it off of screenshots from Young Justice. I also just really like how Merc looks in this one. March: March wasn't a very prolific month for art, I don't think I produced much besides this and one comic piece for GNG week. I'm not sure why exactly, I can't find any specific reason why I would be unproductive that month. I'm gonna just assume I was drained from work all the time and didn't have the energy to put out good art, and also I was getting into a slump bc all my art was starting to look same-y. This piece isn't very good, but I chose it because I did it without a reference, and at this point that was going out of my comfort zone. It's obviously not super dynamic, but at the very least you can tell I intended there to be motion to it. April: This also wasn't a very prolific month for art, not as bad as March, but for the same reasons. I was also really starting to feel burnout from the RWBY fandom, specifically wasps and conflict within the GNG server. This was also when the Art vs the Artist meme was popular, and I realized I didn't want to do that meme because my art was too similar and boring, which also brought me down a peg. Though I put out a few good chibis in April, I chose my Mercury redesign bc I was really proud of it. I could never get the Emerald redesign to mesh quite right, but I can say I'm really proud of how Mercury's came out. May: May had me bounce out of my art slump and in full force trying to expand my skills! Specifically exploring painting. Although May was about as prolific as April, what I did create I put a lot into. It was difficult to pick between this and my app of Edison, because I'm really proud of both, but in the end I went with this commission of Mercury because I pushed myself to try and use an interesting perspective for the piece instead of my usual stand still and face the camera pose. Because I pushed myself out of my comfort zone, this was one of the best things I made all year, and may be my favorite piece of the year. June: TIME TO STRESS OUT ABOUT CONNECTICON! So if you follow me on twitter, you might have noticed I made a lot of posts at the beginning of the year low key throwing shade at myself for drawing my oc's instead of more "important" art. Well, that important art that I was procrastinating was con merch, and con was the second week of July, so I really had to get my ass in gear to finish merch on time (spoiler, I didn't finish a lot of it on time). This piece and July's piece are both posters I made for Connecticon, and while I like July's much better, that doesn't mean I find this piece bad. I really should have known that no one at con would realize it was a goonies reference tho -_-; I also lost a lot of love for this piece after season 6 of Voltron, which I watched while I was about 60% of the way through this piece, so I had to force myself to finish it. July: I love this piece!!!! Don't get me wrong, I know it has flaws, but look at it! The lines are so crisp, the colors look good, Roman and Merc's expressions are mwuah chefs kiss, and I just love all of them!!! ... except for Neo. I really didn't do her justice in this piece, her hair is too fluffy, her head is way to oversized to the point that she looks like a bobblehead, and her eyes are too close together. Really if you take out Neo's head that whole problem goes away. I also love all the tiny details I put in this one, from emerald's chaps to roman's rose to Neo's lace parasol. You can tell I was way more passionate about this piece than I was about the Voltron piece.  August:  pretty sure this is when I quit my job cashiering, and thank god bc customers suck. If I was going off of sheer popularity, Chibi Pyrrha would have taken this slot no contest, and while I love chibi Pyrrha, I don't think it was the best of the month. I chose this little princess and the pauper au doodle because I tried a year ago to draw these two dancing, and it looked like dog shit. It was flat and ugly. But this has motion to it, and even looking at it now makes me feel warm and happy inside. It's just a good cute drawing of my otp. September: My piece for the RWBY tarot project! I have a lot of mixed emotions about this one. on the one hand, I love how mercury looks, his expression, the lighting, the visceral gore from his legs (ESPECIALLY THE VISCERAL GORE ON HIS LEGS) and the hands of the undead, all look stunning and I don't think I could be more happy with how they turned out. And then we get to the background. The caduceus isn't the worst thing ever, but it's severely lacking in quality compared to the rendering on mercury in front of it, and a lot of it is clearly pixellated from me trying to stretch and squash it just right. And the fire is a hot (no pun intended) mess. It's flat, incoherent, and doesn't lead the eye anywhere. It's a shame too because I wanted to do more with it, but I a) didn't have enough time or patience to figure out what I needed to do to fix it and b) didn't want to go outside of my comfort level, so I gave up and decided to be satisfied with what I had. October: October was another good month for art, I made a turnaround sheet for Moss, painted a full body (and slightly lewd) Rudy, and made a decent attempt at inktober. Ok, so I got like 2 days in, but I improved a lot on inking from last year! Fun fact! this piece was originally going to be fan art of Lindsay Jones, but after I did some thumbnails to figure out a pose, I thought it would suit White Diamond better, and I could also sell it as merch. I love this piece. I think I captured the sinister mood well, and conveyed the story I wanted to without any dialogue (at least the notes on Tumblr make me assume I did a decent job, lotta people really wigged out lol) I really worked hard to get the lighting right on this one, and I think it shows. My absolutely favorite thing about this piece funnily enough, is Amethyst. I think I just did a great job drawing her and I'm proud of myself ok. Stevens bubble and my trouble figuring out how to get WD's leg just right are the only things that I dislike about this piece, but I might go back and fix those. November: IM SO PROUD OF THIS COMMISSION!!!!!! I worked so god damn hard on this chef's kiss poifect,  and it really shows. I started using a new brush at this point, the Ojing series on Clip Studio Paint, which I recommend and have been using a lot since. I've also been using this shading technique since drawing this. I love how it sort of fades out but it's still really crisp. I also love all the little details that give this piece character, like her shoes and the stripes on her jacket. This piece really takes a lot of the stuff I learned over the year and combines it into one piece, and I could not be prouder of it. I have absolutely no problems with this one, though I do find the weapon a bit plain, but it's what the client described. December: AND NOW IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!!! I had been working on this piece since August, going back to it every now and then and getting frustrated. I'm really glad I came back to it and finally finished it, since I love this pair and I put a lot of effort into it back in August. However, I'm also really glad I completely overhauled a lot of it, specifically the flowers. Though I'm not 100% happy with the mums in this one, they look a thousand times better than the mums I had originally sketched back in August, and were part of the reason I had such a hard time finishing this for months. I also thought it would be nice to end the year on the same note it started; with a flower couple. I've definitely learned a lot since January, and I hope to continue growing in 2019! 2019 GOALS!

hey hey!! i love your art so much ive been on an art block myself recently and am trying to get over it by looking at my fav artists for inspiration and youre on like the top of the list so thank you for that!!! also if you dont mind me asking, what art program do you use? also i love your line art so much its so Crisp i wanna eat it dfkjghdhfk?? do you have any tips on how you do your line art and/or shading? sorry for all the questions you dont gotta answer but yeah!!!
hi chiara!!!!!!!!!!!
i use paint tool sai for most digital art, and then ms paint for pixel art.there are more powerful programs to use, but they are both good programs to make things in if you have a decent grasp of their functions.
Tumblr media
these are my main three brushes, feel free to steal em:
the first one is for sketching and painting mostly, but i also use it to create shading with soft edges and sometimes lineart (its perfect for cleaned up sketches by erasing and readding sketch lines until clean)
the second one is a round hard brush, giving it a crisp cartoony look, while being easy to use because i dont need to worry about varying line thickness or making the edges look clean, but bc it doesnt really change size, using a thinner brush size for details is good. i also use it for blocking in colors
the last one is actually a really good sketch brush, but it’s also great for making linearts with a really sharp look to them.
assorted tips:

make quick, confident strokes, as opposed to sketchy or slow lines. i have my stabilizer set to like, 5 (as opposed to the really high values) mostly because i don’t have the patience for the lag, but if you draw your lines with quick confident strokes you dont need the stabilizer and you can achieve sharper, more fluid lines and curves
dont be shy to set your brush to erasing - you can use it to make sharp edges and crisp corners. if you have to draw straight lines, you can always draw them in one quick stroke on a seperate layer, then erase the parts that are in the way of other lines, then merge your layers! that’s much easier than trying to make straight lines that dont bump and mess up the rest of your lineart
think about how you use line size/thickness, color, and shading to deal with visual clutter in your lineart. if you have a lot of lineart details in say, a textured scarf a character wears, but little detail in a persons face, the scarf is gonna distract from the face. so you can make the lineart lighter or thinner in the clutter area to deal with that, for example
make your own brushes, or learn how to edit the ones you find! being able to make your brushes do the things you want them to do is a really useful skill to have. so look at what settings other ppl use for their brushes, and tinker with them to see what everything does
shading: i usually just put a layer as a clipping group on my colors layer, then use either a soft or hard brush to draw shadows everywhere (i block in large areas of shadow first, then erase and add the finer details, to avoid pillow shading), and then set that layer to multiply and then recolor it to actually match the colors of the rest of the piece + airbrush the shadow layer with a few different colors to make it pretty and stuff. i mostly do it this way bc i dont have patience and its quick
i hope that helps! try a bunch of stuff and see if any of it works for you

hello!! i was wondering what brushed you use to paint and render, im still getting the hang of sai myself and wondering if you had any tips! tysm bby ;w;
hi anon! beware but this got really long fast whoops :^)
tips for sai, hmm. PRACTICE!!! PRACTICE!! you should hear that very often from people but it’s true! don’t grip ur tablet pen too hard; i know that seems liek a given, but i subconsciously do it and it’s so badremember to save! the stabilizer is helpful for clean strokes; flip the canvas regularly to catch anything that looks weird; use keyboard shortcuts! my ctrl, z,x,c, and s key are fading quickly bc i use them often for sai LOL
ctrl+alt to quickly change the size of a brush
ctrl+space to zoom in
ctrl+shift and hover over certain parts of ur art to see what layer that part is in (ex is like ‘where is this fucking pixel on- oh it’s on layer 486!’)
alt+space is rotating the canvas (for windows- press the insert key to return it back to right side up)
press ctrl and click on the layer’s thumbnail to select everything in that layer
ctrl+t is the transform button (hold ctrl and drag corners or sides to individually move them- this helps for perspective work)
use large canvases! as large as ur computer/laptop can handle
hold ctrl and that can move ur layer around
hold the space bar and that can move ur canvas around
go to view and press new, now u have duplicate canvases of the same file- if u work on full screen, go to maximize in the upper right corner to see both canvases at the same time
what u can do is zoom out on one canvas; and work on the other one up close-that way, u can see how it affects the drawing as a whole
press any number on the keyboard to change ur density of the brush that ur currently using (i accidentally press them all the time and is constantly wondering why my brush isnt doing what it’s supposed to be doing)
the very small checkered box tool near the eyedrop tool and ur primary/secondary color acts like an eraser but in the form of the current brush u are using! so the strokes are the same as the brush but it erases (super helpful for textured erasing)
preserve opacity locks everything in that layer so u can color within the strokes u made
helpful for changing black line art to another color
when it comes to painting, it doesn’t matter if ur sketch is clean- ur gonna render it anyway. also make a separate layer, put it at the way bottom or something, and use the bucket tool to make it a grey color/ or whatever to help u catch holes in ur painting!
for large gradients, coloring then blending the entire canvas can make ur sai really slow. what u do: go on a new layer, use the rectangular selection tool and make a small rectangle; place the color(s); blend to make ur gradient; then use the transform tool and resize for large gradient
take breaks! if u feel pain in ur wrist, stop working!! stretch it regularly and get up and move around!!!! also sometimes, ur hand just doesn’t want to work that day. u can either take a break for the day or do loose sketches/ warm ups to mitigate ur uncooperative hand. try to finish ur pieces, even if they look bad.
if u’ve been staring at the canvas, working on the art for hours, then it might be time to take a break and check back on the piece later. looking at art with a fresh eye can help u see things that u didn’t catch earlier.
my holy grail brush that i use for sketching and painting/rendering is thisi use other brushes that help so let me know if u want them and the steps i use them in!

how to take, pt. 1
There's no clock to watch in the break room, just a handwritten sign that reads "for a plasent experience please clean up after your-self" and a TV with a stripe of dead pixels down the middle. The TV blares the noon news at top volume for Randy's benefit. Carey's never wanted to destroy something so much. Well. Since yesterday.
Carey only does real actual work for three hours straight-- and then hangs around for four and a half hours, feeling boredom crush his skull like an iron vise, staring at old intranet interfaces while he pretends to track down Account 10258. He knows that once Corporate get computers that are much smarter and cheaper than having to pay humans-- he'd be out of this hell organization if he hasn't gotten out by then.
Four years here has felt a lot closer to forty. This gig only has one perk. Superior work/life balance. He has no interest in getting up the ladder because he can do math and divide managerial salaries by the hours they're expected to work. Still, 29.5 hours per week at Bullshit Co. doesn't pay the bills he has.
Good thing Carey's also got no shame and a pretty body and a taste for casual cruelty.
Carey leans back against his chair, wondering how many messages are on his burner phone back in the room he rents. Supposedly outside these windowless beige walls, the sun is shining and the weather is above 20 degrees C. Spring makes people want to fuck.
And that means people come to Carey-- Sir to these people-- for a little flogging and meanness and if they're good enough, a little suck. He looks at his phone-- 2:34. Just two hours and 21 minutes until he can go home and look at his burner for client requests.
#
Wednesday night rolls around, with Carey having an appointment at his third-favorite no-tell motel. The motel is out of everyone's way, past an abandoned office park, and if Carey listens closely he can hear the rumble of planes overhead.
Carey's looking forward to opening the door to Room 6 tonight.
Negotiating the place, the fees, the pain got a lot easier when Carey told this client to send him a shirtless selfie, no face. He always asks for these pictures. Clients like preening, maybe feeling the slight tinge of humiliation if maybe they're not as toned as the faceless picture of himself that he sends them, smooth skin and muscles, his thumbs hooked around a rodeo-style belt and a thin trail of hair creeping up underneath his belly button. It's one of Carey's favorite selfies, even if it's titled runaway_cowboy on his external HD.
Carey doesn't just ask to embarrass them, although it's a nice bonus for those older clients. Hitting people well requires thought, especially if they're paying for a two-hour session. It's easier on the hand to give slaps on fat than slaps on bone, and surgical scars are generally a no-go. This client--
He sent Carey a barely-crisp picture of a beefy torso, densely covered in hair with a thin bar running through a faintly-pink nipple, just like his handle promised: w00dluver. Carey had texted him, told him to pinch that pierced nipple, and got a blurrier picture of him doing it, just enough to make him 90% sure that it was real.
Carey isn't picky, but it's occasionally nice to be able to work over someone who's closer to his size and age. He sends a text to this John called Shea, telling him he's here, and walks up the stairs with his play backpack. A suitcase is harder to explain than a backpack, and Shea isn't demanding too many toys. Just some good old-fashioned man-handling. The motel door opens, showing Shea.
Shea's only an inch taller, got only ten extra pounds on Carey, and looks like a mean professor. Carey leans against the doorway, one thumb hooked in his jean pocket, and tilts his head. "Ready for a good time, kid?" he smirks. Shea clears his throat and nods, "Yessir," trying not to meet Carey's eyes, like there's a time limit on this.
Well. Shea did just pay for two hours, and Carey closes the door behind himself. The lock clicks, and Shea shifts from one foot to another, his beard barely hiding his blush. Carey tosses his backpack on the closest bed and looks at the lurid swirl of green-orange of the bedspread, saying, "You going to be still?"
Shea freezes at the edge of Carey's eye, his hands pressed flat against his worn jeans. Carey looks back at Shea. The picture hadn't lied. Shea's a big boy. Carey rests his eyes on Shea's shoes, dusty and creased, up to his ill-fitting polo, the crumpled camo cap on the bed stand, the beat-up wallet next to the cap, filling in the blanks. Country boy, quiet, control freak, and Carey locks his eyes with Shea's, seeing those dark eyes tremble from not looking down and away.
Change a few things around and they could be good buds. Carey squeezes Shea's shoulder, digging his nails in hard, and drawls in his best BC twang, "Get on your knees, you fairy."
Shea does. Slowly, glaring up at him the whole way, his jaw clenching. Carey bites down on the urge to smile at how he's so fucking defiant, almost proud, and can almost see the next two hours folding before him. He rarely has to send someone down into subspace-- they do it to themselves, the fantasy of a dom slapping cock in their faces, posing and snarling at them making them easy and suggestible.
Shea is going to fight him. He'd probably lose. Carey rakes his hand through Shea's thick hair, yanks it back hard, and says calmly, "Thank you."
Carey sees Shea's massive shoulders slide down a little before he hikes them up again. Shea snarls, "Is this the best you can do?" Carey plucks at his polo, and drags it off Shea's torso, tossing the XXXLT across the room and steps away. Shea doesn't move, and Carey can feel him glaring at his back while Carey sets the air conditioner to the lowest possible setting. It's a warm day, but not that warm, and Shea's nipples harden in the chill air as he watches Carey move across the room. People think that big guys like him and Shea have no problem staying warm, but all that muscle takes energy to keep warm, and being still on the floor doesn't help one whit.
Thermodynamics' a bitch. Carey pulls his clothes off, folds them neatly on the bed next to his backpack, wearing just his PVC harness and black bike shorts, snapping the waistband against his hip to get Shea's attention. He's got it, can feel Shea looking at his ass and cock. He slips on fingerless gloves, flexes his fingers into easy fists and looks over at Shea. Shea averts his eyes, swallowing, and Carey presses his feet flat against the carpet.
Walking back to Shea is easier this time, and Carey hits the meat of Shea's arm with the tip of his knuckles. Shea jerks, and Carey says, "Two for flinching," punches the back of his arm, right above the elbow, and Shea clenches on a noise. Carey presses his foot over Shea's thigh, and says, "Not going to cry?"
Shea grinds his teeth, "Fuck you," and Carey smirks as he shoves Shea's face against his crotch, rubbing the smooth fabric of his shorts against Shea's mouth. He strokes himself with Shea's lips, feeling his stuttering breath through the thin fabric, the prickle of his beard. Carey doesn't have to say the obvious, and Shea pants when he gets pushed back, his hands loose against his thighs.
"Get up," Carey says. Shea scrambles to his feet, clumsy from kneeling, and Carey walks around him. He can see Shea fight to not look over his shoulder, and he drags his nails down the center of Shea's back, right down against his ass. Carey presses his mouth to Shea's ear, "You're going to take off your jeans. You're going to show me how easy you are."
Shea hesitates for a breath, but slides out of his jeans, his underwear, and Carey lets himself leer at the glimpse he can see of the flushed cock hanging in between Shea's thighs. Carey strokes down Shea's hip, "Bend over on the bed."
"No," Shea says, and Carey curls his arms around Shea's arms, and squeezes his biceps in between his elbow. Carey rushes him down against the bed. The thump echoes beyond the thin walls. Carey pushes down as Shea tries to arch off the sheets, his legs scrambling underneath their combined weight. Carey pushes a leg in between Shea's, and says calmly, "I don't repeat myself."
Shea struggles, enough to realize that Carey's got all the leverage. His arms are pinned back, and this position must be pushing the air out of his lungs, and Carey nudges his leg up higher. Shea shivers when Carey's thighs press against his balls, and Carey lets him go. Shea falls forward on the bed with another thump, twisting to get on his back--
Carey pinches the soft inside of Shea's thigh with a casual "no". Shea stops, and Carey slaps his thigh, brushing his balls, "If you wanted me to bust your balls, you could have asked." Shea doesn't answer in words, but the back of his neck is almost brick-red and Carey slips his thumb down his furred cleft. That makes Shea still, every inch of him paying attention. Carey presses his thumb in.
It's tight, too tight, and Carey almost feels guilty at how much Shea's asshole is fluttering around his thumb. Almost.
Shea fists his hands against the sheets. Carey feels his asshole clenching around his thumb, can see how that made Shea break out into a sweat, breathing hard and his thighs splaying open. Of course Carey rocks his thumb, just enough to rub against that tight rim, and he knows exactly what Shea's looking for now. He can just reach the lotion on the bed stand. It's not lube, but that's why he's slipping it against Shea's ass. Carey pushes the lotion in, cold enough to make Shea hiss between his teeth. He presses his face against Shea's jaw, "Show me."
Shea has the good sense not to ask Carey what, and to just lift his hips up from the sheets, forcing him back onto Carey's thumb, grunting as he tries to work himself open and failing. Carey cups Shea's balls, feeling how heavy they are, how he clenches harder when Carey pulls on them just this side of painful. Shea swears under his breath when Carey slips his thumb out, and Carey only has to glance at Shea's ass before he gets the dildo.
Pushing the dildo in, with just the barest amount of lube, makes Shea tremble and struggle not to move. Carey watches Shea's eyelashes flutter, watches how Shea makes himself relax and take it, just a little worse than he probably thought he'd be able to. Carey waits until the dildo's in, waits until Shea leans back onto the sheets and his breathing evens out, to hit Shea.
The whine he gets when he hits him with his hand on the back of his thigh goes straight to his cock. Carey hits him again, his hand flat against Shea's ass, smacking him and making him clench even harder around the dildo, making him rock against the bed. Shea tries to move towards Carey's hand, and gets tapped on his cheek instead. Carey slaps the insides of Shea's thighs, squeezes his balls before he flicks them, and laughs when Shea howls.
Carey shoves the dildo in, angled just enough that it's getting Shea's prostate too hard, and rolls him over. Shea's cock jerks and leaks across his abs, looking red and squeezable-- so Carey squeezes it, his thumb nail scraping across the foreskin. Shea jerks, his hips lifting up, trying to fuck into the grip. Carey pushes him down, and slaps him, right where the beard'll hide any mark Carey leaves. Shea licks his lips, his eyes only softer in comparison with the rest of his body, tense and strung--
Kneeling right between those thighs, his hand cupping Shea's balls so tightly he can feel them twitching, Carey rubs his finger along where the dildo's stretching Shea's open, hot and almost raw. Shea thrashes his head against the sheets at the gentle touch, and Carey curls up a smile. He slides his hands off Shea, and kneels above his face. He's hard, of course he is, and Shea parts his lips in a silent plea.
Carey obliges Shea by shoving his cock in that mouth, rocking carefully on his knees--
Shea sucks messily, his eyes squeezed shut, his lips slipping over the tip of Carey's cock. His face is covered in sweat, and he's breathing hard in pants between Carey pushing against his face. His arms are flat against the sheets, trusting him to do all the work, and well, Carey can jerk off like this, watching him try so hard.
He comes on Shea's thick beard, a small splash, and rubs it in, not quite letting him taste his come even though his tongue darts out to taste his fingers. Carey leans away, and pushes Shea on his front. Shea goes easily, his muscles slack and his ass up in the air.
Carey fucks him like that, thrusting the dildo in and out fast enough to make his arm ache, and listens to Shea make those hot ah, ah sounds before he comes, getting the sheets even dirtier and his body one long shake--
Shoving the dildo in makes Shea spurt again on the sheets and fall against the come he put there. Carey slips his fingers through Shea's sweaty hair. Shea's not going to move, so Carey does, ignoring the way his shoulder tingles as he leans up and says, "Good. Little. Fairy."
Shea laughs, wrung-out, and Carey drags his nail down his slick neck, "Five minutes."
Afterwards, Shea tips him and doesn't apologize for being a hard fuck. Carey likes that.

This might be too much to ask but I broke my laptop and only have access to mobile and I'm dying to know what I'm actually missing but I can't check would you be able to describe it? Sorry I know this is annoying ignore it if it's too much trouble
It’s not annoying so don’t worry about it, but my posts should all be visible, now? At least my app doesn’t give me the option to request a review anymore… if you can’t see them still they’re all (aside from the one I posted earlier) backed up on my wordpress blog! You can see them from there without me needing to describe them~
Anon said:Franeri-san what dimensions do you usually use for your canvas? When I draw I end up making the canvas too small, so when i zoom in to make details it becomes pixelated. But I also don’t need my canvas too big because I won’t be able to proportion it;; it’s a visual thing… Ah I’m rambling sorry
I use a 6000pxx5000px with a 4px brush, usually, but I really rarely use it all, mostly it’s just like, corners of the whole thing. I tend to draw a lot of things on the same canvas before switching to a new one - that said, personally I can’t draw properly if I don’t zoom in above 100% (usually I work at 150% or 200%, more for details) so I’m really not the right person to ask this haha
Anon said:I saw that profanity is now being blocked more heavily by safe search so our good, good but foul mouthed Baku may be the reason your stuff is hidden. You’ve probably already heard this but I thought I’d let you know~
Rip so I heard orz though let’s not give our Baku all the fault here, I swear a lot by myself too haha I’m my own ruin, seems like - thank you for taking your time to share the info, anyway!!
Anon said:I’m really happy about your blog not being censored seriously. CAUSE YOU MAKE WONDERFUL DRAWINGS THAT FILL MY HEART AND I WAS STARTING TO PANICK. Keep up the good work~. 🖤
And I’m really happy you can properly see my blog, you sweet sweet cute and adorable anon!!!!!!!!!! *O*
Anon said:Hello! First, I love your art and your headcanons and stories! I am in love with bakushima half because of you, you beautiful tart. Second, about Bakugo’s laugh, holy crikey, of course he’s loud and explosive. The boy is a ball of stress and anger and when he laughs for real, it’s rare and takes effort. But like, can you just imagine when his explodo-kill mask cracks his face turns red because he doesn’t want to laugh. But THEN he barks out a laugh and everybody’s stunned and then he just SNORTS
YES!!!!!!! Oh my god yes that’s an hc I have he definitely, definitely snorts when he tries to hold back his laughter it’s so effin adorable I die every day a lot bless that kid
Anon said:Who tops of in your opinion in Bakushima?👀
Maybe either, maybe neither, depends on many things but mostly on how I don’t ever ask myself this question for any of my ships so I got no answer for it at all ever - instead we should ask ourselves the important questions, like who opens the water bottles between them (Kirishima when Bakugou’s palms get too sweaty and Bakugou’s forever resentful about it), who kicks when they sleep and who always ends up sleeping on the floor because of it (Bakugou’s the restless sleeper, poor Kirishima), who takes way too damn long in the bathroom goddamnit Kirishima get out of there already I swear to go——-
Anon said:your blog makes me really happy just keep doing you you’re like the best thing
Thank you so much holy smokes!!!!!!!!!! *O*
Anon said:wait wait wait wait! is Bakugou the one teaching Shark Kirishima sign language?? then does that mean Kirishima learned to sign ‘I love you’ from Bakugou!? (Q/)////(\Q)
They’re learning together!! They have an online dictionary and follow online courses, so Kirishima kind of looked it up for himself at first - he was signing it as love instead of really like thoug, which made Bakugou indecently flustered so in the end, yes, he was the one to teach him how to properly sign it :D
Anon said:Will you still be updating this blog?
Sure will! The wordpress one is just a backup thing!
Anon said:wait so question: in the mer au, does kiri know jsl from before? because the way he reacted to bakugou first attempting to sign at him looked like he recognized it but you said they both had to learn? does he react like that because he recognizes it as bakugou actively trying to communicate? (btw this au is So Good i love how kaminari is just “why are you like this” at kiri but his Gay Ass cant be swayed)
I’m glad you like it!!!!! And nope Kiri didn’t know jsl from before, but mers do have something similar to a sign language (there’s deaf and mute merpeople too, after all) so he recognized it as Bakugou going “I want to talk to you and this is the best way to” - also, he’d never seen a tablet before and Bakugou was showing him an explosion on it to make him understand and instead he went “what is this SORCERY” and got excited about a gif. Good, pure kid. I had no clue how to add that in the comic in a fast way tho so let’s leave it at him being happy they found a possible way to communicate haha
Anon said:Hi Fran!!! Hace you reas the theoriws aboyo kiri o kaminari Boeing traitors? Si you know where they came up? I’m lil bit lost even tho I’m up with the man lmao ALSO pls more maki-chan
So pretty much at some point in the middle of a meeting Present Mic mentioned how there probably was a traitor between them that kept on feeding the villains infos about UA, and the fandom of course got interested in that!! Who could it be? They started thinking it through and for some reason the theories that ended up being more popular are about it being either Kaminari, Kirishima or Hagakure - I don’t think any of these are true, but if you google search “kaminari traitor theory” or the same with the other two names you should easily find the posts explaining the theories and where they come from, if you’re interested!
Anon said:omg fran i haven’t watched/read bnha but still solely bc of your art i am IN LOVE with kirishima. he’s such a pure being I feel like crying every time i see him??? like i just watched the first opening of the anime and you bet i watched the 5 seconds kirishima gets over and over. like all the bnha kids seem great. i am somehow extremely motivated to read bnha now thanks to your art. !!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I really, really think I will!!!!!!!! :D
Anon said:I bet if denki tried to do the “if i jump at ______ they will most certainly catch me” with bakugou, bakugou would just let him fall
Oh my god no Bakugou’s reflexes and instincts are too fast and automatic the actual reaction at seeing someone run and jump at him would be without thinking trying to explodo-kill them don’t jump at him Kaminariiiii
Anon said: What to you think of a school dance bnha concept thing???
I read a bakushima about it once and I DIED so actually A++++ great perfect amazing concept I love it
Anon said:I gotta know, what do you think of the “Dabi is Todoroki Shouto’s brother” theory? i personally feel like that 1’s the most likely theory to become a legit thing but im curious
I talked about this on my main just the other day!! And added something about it earlier through another ask! But generally I think it’s believable, and I wouldn’t mind it being true :D
Anon said:But, what are your feelings about this chapters? And Kirishima? God, I love him even more and want him to be happy, but Im also dying to know what happened to him in his past!!
I CRIED I love that boy so much I swear it’s getting ridiculous I’m so so proud of him and how far he’s come and I just want him to be happy??? I do want to know his past tho!!! I’ve just been asking for this for, like, eight months!! I hope next one will be the one I’ll finally learn about my child tbh ;–;
Anon said:Fran you should totally do bnha and haikyuu calendars
………………..boi that sounds like a lot of work, anon. Like, it’s an interesting idea, but also my lazy ass is telling me no way no what the heck go to sleep instead r i p
Anon said:Have you ever thought of an eraser mic fusion?
I’ve drawn it already!!
Anon said:fran i?? i love the way you draw smiles?? idk i was just going through your art and i realized that holy SHIT i really love the way you draw smiles. like each smile is different and has its own specialty. esp bakugo’s smile I LOVE HOW YOU DRAW HIS SMILE!! like usually it’s not really noticeable but then there’s that slight quirk of his mouth (see what i did there?) and it’s so perfect. idk dude i just REALLY LOVE THE WAY YOU DRAW SMILES
THIS IS SUCH A CUTE ASK I DON’T KNOW HOW TO ANSWER HELP ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you????? so much??????? I’m glad you like them cause honestly I love drawing people smiling and laughing, it makes my heart smile too~
Anon said:Theres a bnhaStuck blog in the works ;)
That’s? Nice! I guess!! I hope whoever’s working on it will have fun with it!!
Anon said:Fran this last BNHA chapter hurt so bad. And then I saw your mer-Kiri and it cheered me up!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m glad I could cheer you up cause honestly I felt that pain a whole damn lot too ;A; let’s hope Kiri won’t have to suffer much more in this arc #sob
Anon said:im crying fran, my hard bby kiri in the latest chap,,, my baby boi, i know that i wanted to know more abt him but,, keep my baby safe pls oh goodness gracious… (and as usual ur bootiful art keeps me alive)
I mean nearly all the character arcs we got are damn sad so it was obvious Kiri’s was going to be too, but still ;A; don’t make him suffer too bad Hori I beg u ;A;
Anon said:*takes deep breath* I FUCKING LOVE YOU SO MUCH THANK YOU FOR MAKING QUALITY ART OF MY FAVOURITE SHIPS YOU ARE SUCH AN AMAZING PERSON AND YOUR ART IS VERY PRETTY AND I JUST WANTED TO THANK YOU FOR EXISTING IN GENERAL BYe
THANK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO MUCH OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anon said:!!!!!!FRAN!!!!!! YOUR MER!KIRI AU!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Anon said:I love your work 😍. You are the only one who makes comics About my favourite ships. I check your web everyday If you post something new. My fav ships are I.waoi, bok.uroo and bak.ushima. Love your work 🙂
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh thank you!!!! holy smokes!!!!!
Anon said:Do you have an OC for Boku no Hero Academy?
The closest things to bnha ocs I have are the fusions, right now, but there’s a couple of asks in my inbox about a bkkr kid… soon……..
Anon said:Quick question, I want to read haikyuu, I’ve watched the anime already and I was wondering how close the anime follows the manga, like how bnha is basically identical, is it the same? Or is there a bit of difference *^*
I’m SO SORRY THIS TOOK ME FOREVER TO ANSWER - I bet you already found your answer elsewhere, but anyway the anime is pretty much exactly the same as the manga!!
Anon said:Back on the topic of hq!!! I find it funny how people ask about bok.uroo so much as if you dont like them anymore when they’re literally still your header, like if you didn’t care for them they’d think you’d change it to bakushima or something
I’ve literally thought about changing my header so often but then I look at it and I’m like….. my kids………… I can’t do this………………. not yet…………………. same for my icon tbh haha I love them too much rip
Anon said:Okay but what if Kirishima makes a really stupid pun and Bakugou just turns away with a curse and he’s just covering his mouth and quietly giggling into his hand because even he can’t believe he found that funny, and that is SHAMEFUL. And Sero in the distance is just looking at him, all disappointed. Quietly judging the fact that Kirishima and Bakugou are practically meant for one another.
You wanna know the best thing the absolute best thing? My very first bnha comic was something eerily similar to the first part of this ask! Only Bakugou was the one to accidentally make a pun - I’d link it but honestly my style was ridiculous back then so not happening, just know that I’m 100% sure that post is the reason why I keep on drawing bnha comics about puns, my very first post set the path for all the others to come hah a curse I don’t actually mind
Anon said:are you planning on starting another series? like the bokuroteru tattoo shop au you did (it was real dandy and rad) it was what made me find your blog, so i was wondering if you have any future plans for anything similar. i really like your blog lots, i hope you have a nice day!
