I feel like we, as a fandom have never collectively discussed how fucking awesome Rachel Elizabeth Dare is. I honestly think she's the most underappreciated character in the entire fandom. Like demigods, she's incredibly creative, thinks and behaves outside of what's expected of her in the mortal world, and has this incredible power of sight that no one else has. She hates her father for being a developer, she volunteers in her free time to help raise money for art programs for kids, she's a great friend to Percy, she's incredibly brave (i.e. going into the labyrinth because 'she had no summer plans' , flying into a war zone, hitting Kronos with a blue hairbrush), she's really funny, but all everyone talks about is how much they hate her because she's a rival for Percy's affections but when you think about it... hello!!! Of course Percy has a crush on her she's "just as brave as Annabeth", incredibly creative, has complex feelings towards her family and her own identity... are you sensing a pattern!! Percy has a type!! All of this is made funnier when you realize Rick Riordan describes Becky (his wife) as a creative who he trusts with everything like he basically wrote two incarnations of his wife in a love triangle LOL

My final thoughts after seeing the whole first season of PJO:

I did not love this adaptation as a whole, I liked it. Occasionally, I more than liked it, and occasionally I did not like it. But I never hated it, so I am satisfied.

And don’t get upset or anything, because I would do anything to see at least 5 seasons of this show, if not all of PJO, HOO, and TOA. This story is so important to me, and I think that’s why I had trouble with some of the changes.

I’ve seen other people that say the show didn’t have the same spirit or tone as the book, and in some counts I really have to agree. The pacing was off in the show. I would have a hard time pointing to specific reasons why, but it just didn’t work for me most of the time. I also think we missed out on a lot of the humor, which is what makes me the most sad out of everything.

But I will NEVER attack children because of any of these errors, and I know that the subsequent seasons can only get better as Rick and Becky get better at working on a TV series, and as the whole PJO team gets more comfortable in their roles. If I know anything, I know Rick and Becky care about what the fan base thinks, so I have hope for future seasons being better than this first one.

Still though, the fact that we got this show at all makes me so emotional and I am so proud of the cast of kids that did their absolute best to bring these beloved characters to life. I’d die for our main trio 😂. I mean, THE PERCABETH MOMENTS!?!? Sally and Percy’s relationship?? Chef’s kiss. ❤️❤️

Even if I disagree with some of the decisions that were made in the writing of the show, I refuse to take it for granted. That is all.

Why am I just finding out today (by total accident too) that Rick and Becky were born on the same day and they decided to get married on their birthdays? That’s the cutest thing I’ve even seen oh my gods.

Annabeth wouldnt stand with bigotry as well as stealing people's art and claiming it as theirs. Neither does Rick Riordan and Becky Riordan. Neither does the PJO cast, movies, show, or musical. Neither does this artist bc she understands what it means to be an artist and how disrespectful it is to steal one's art, heck even change it to their wants. The fandom stands against you! Annabeth in the show is our Annabeth, Annabeth in the book is our Annabeth, this isn't a competition. Rick approved of Leah too, but you don't wanna talk about that. I'm guessing the "#leahisourannabeth" having a winking emoji right next to it means this is sarcasm. Which is weird considering that LEAH IS OUR ANNABETH, sarcasm or not. IF you truly think of her as Annabeth, you wouldn't white wash her and apparently dm her very nasty things. "We won". No, you lost the minute you started harassing a 14 year old girl!
