The man is 6 feet tall, a shredded brick beefhouse, facial hair, huge sword and has BDE so overwhelming that he steals every scene he's in. People forget how to speak in his presence.

You could argue he isn't beautiful, sure, but beauty doesn't equate hot. The man is fucking HOT and anyone who argues against this hasn't passed the stage where they realize Aragorn is hotter than Legolas and we will just have to wait for them to grow up and see the truth.

what kind of evil science do Ivar/Opera get into?

Ivar is an all purpose assistant for a lot of the other staff members. being one of the only beefhouses in a world full of sweaty twiggy nerds means you're the one who gets to lug the Mad Science Equipment. He has his special interests though, maybe someday he'll get to work on em.

Opera is an all-purpose test subject! A wayward experiment gave her functional immortality but literally no other benefits. Every day Esme finds some new way to murder her in order to test the Facilities bioweapons/etc, and every day she thinks "It's a living!"

honestly, it really sucks that Twelve Forever’s creator was a creep, because looking back— it’s actually a pretty interesting story about a GNC, possibly neurodivergent girl (who is also implied to be a lesbian) who likes superheroes and action figures and toys and action stories, and she’s disappointed because for her 12th birthday her mom gets her “”girl things””” like feminine shirts, and shaving cream and razors, deodorant and a bra (albeit with little robots on it).

Her mom doesn’t understand why Regina, who goes by Reggie, is upset about this, and tries to convince her that this stuff is “fun in a different way”— and then her Mom tries to sell some of Reggie’s old toys in a garage sale, which is the turning point for her.

and the Bad Guy, the enemy, is a manifestation of “”female puberty”” and the expectations of women, created by the books on puberty her mom made her read (which she threw into a volcano) and the villain actively uses cosmetics as evil potions and weapons and one of the first things she does is make Reggie hallucinate that her body is messed up. the villain feeds on negative emotions and insecurities.

Reggie constantly tries to reiterates to herself that she’s perfect the way she is, because she’s always being told she’s supposed to be a Certain Way. Out of all the puberty books, the phrase that haunts her is: “Inside every little girl is a woman waiting to bloom.”

There’s an episode where another girl makes her feel bad about not having expensive jewellery and instead mostly making her own jewellery, including a pair of cute turkey earrings that the aforementioned girl steals because she actually liked them.

her mom takes her and her friend Esther dress shopping, and Esther is The Perfect Daughter that her mother doesn’t have. All the dresses that Reggie picked out are not in her size, with sleeves too long for her hands and mostly touching the ground. She chooses big shoulder pads and a pair of very big, bright red heeled boots that she refers to as “big ol’ boots” and wants because they’ll make her tall. Her mom reminds her that she’s dressing for the wedding and not herself.

Her Mom and Esther want make-overs, and Reggie wants to go to the comic store. The whole day, Reggie feels alienated from her mom and Esther, and like they want her to be someone she’s not— and she doesn’t even understand who they want her to be. She’s uncomfortable in the final dress they pick because it’s itchy and feminine.

Her mom tells her that she just has to be mature for one day, but Reggie doesn’t want to grow up and be mature, because being “mature” supposedly means giving up every part of herself that she actually likes. It means being a different person than she is.

And she doesn’t really believe in love, but the only thing that kinda makes her believe it might exist is Mack and Beefhouse, a buff gay couple happily married. and then later she gets a crush on a girl and doesn’t know how to feel about it, has a whole crisis about it.

and she seems very neurodivergent-coded to me, because she’s very adverse to change and it’s a point of tension in her life. she was bullied for being weird and wearing the cool hoodie she made herself to school, as a kid no one came to her birthday party. Seemingly didn’t have any friends until, she was 11 and is incredibly wary of new people being added to their friend group.
