-You and Beej were most like making the most simplest of foods out there: Spaghetti.

-Not so hard if you do it in the correct order.

-The thing is about Beej, he likes to freestyle and add in bits and pieces of things he'd like. For instance: You once caught him trying to put a whole street rat in the boiling water.

-You could not have scolded him any harder than you did over that poor rat.

-But, this time.. BJ thought it would be cool if he cut something up and added it into the dish. So, he pulled out the celery and started dicing it just to throw you off.

-He wasn't quite paying attention because he was trying to put bugs in the salsa at the same time and he chopped the tip of his finger.

-The knife dropped suddenly and you turned around from what you were doing only to see Beej holding his hand.

-Fireflight instinct said get the medkit.

-You left swiftly and returned with a bandaid. You reached for Beej's hand but he pulled away. He was puzzled.

-"What are you doing?" He squinted at the bandaid in your hand and didnt look at you for a second.

-"Just.. give me your hand, silly." Once more you reached for the demons hand and pulled it close to you. You stared at it for a moment and shoved his hand under the sink to rinse it off.

-He hissed under his breath quietly. His eyes were wide as he watched you intently. "Is this a breathers thing? Some sort of ritual?"

-You snickered and dried off his hand and put two little bandaids on it. "I guess so since youre so unfamiliar with it." You held his hand gently ans brought it up to your lips. You kissed the bandaged finger.

-Beej didn't move. He was processing your actions. You kind of left him distraught for a minute. Once you let go he looked at his hand again, "So, you'll do that everytime? I get hurt?" He said, tilting his hand and starting a plan in his head.

- "Yes because I love you Beej-" You see him pick up the knife and almost chop his whole finger off.

-He got swatted of course. Beej is no longer allowed to use sharp objects in the kitchen.

-"If you wanted kisses you couldve just asked, geez.."

-"But its more fun this way ):" His hair was turning a light pink. Barely noticable. But he kept the thought of you kissing his scars in his head all week long.

* arin is the only person who knows how to calm sora down from a panic attack

* when they have nightmares, they make hot chocolate and talk on the couch until they both fall asleep

* arin is the only person sora will ask for help

* even though arin can bake, neither of them can cook - in the crossroads they lived off of 2 minutes noodles and takeout

* arin listens to sora yap about her inventions for hours

* arin is OBSESSED with sora’s hair - he thinks it’s so cool that it’s naturally pink and she lets him brush and braid it

* do face masks together

* if anyone says anything bad about arin, sora is first to defend him, and vice versa

* find it hilarious when someone accuses them of being a couple

* platonic cuddling while watching and making fun of low budget movies

* whenever arin’s sad sora will just drape over him like a cat

* if arin misses his parents, sora will let him talk about them for as long as he needs to (but she’d never admit that she sometimes misses her parents too, despite everything)

* sora taught arin a bunch of words in imperian so that they can have secret chats

* sora makes arin style and cut her hair (he’s practically a professional hairdresser at this point)

* arin will randomly slip ‘i love you’s and ‘you’re my best friend’s into conversation, because he knows sora needs reassurance but refuses to ask for it

* if sora has a bad day, arin will make her favourite pie and they’ll eat it curled up in front of the tv

* their favourite ghibli movies are my neighbour totoro (arin) and kiki’s delivery service (sora)

* arin is constantly reminding sora to eat, esp if she’s working on a big project

* on especially bad nights, they end up tangled together in sora’s bed

* sora CANNOT sleep without the sound of arin’s snoring

* sora sleep kicks and arin bullies her for it

* they have a shared playlist that’s like 100 hours long

* they know each others habits, mannerisms and way of speaking by heart (happens when you’re each others only friends for 5 years)

* sora has really bad sensory issues which is why she never gets her own ninja gi to match the others (she also doesn’t like uniform bc of imperium) and why she always has her headphones on (they’re noise cancelling)

* they have one of those really long and complicated handshakes

when offered to join the ninja team, wu mistakes him for a guy. he decides he likes this and goes along with it. plus, it’s easier to be taken seriously as a male ninja. in the first two seasons, he’s perfectly fine with this and even happy. it’s the first time in his life anyone has ever perceived him as a gender outside of female. ed and edna, being ever supportive, just go along with it and aren’t bothered.

by season three, jay starts feeling a little weird about it. he can’t tell if it’s because he’s been keeping his true identity from his friends, or because being a guy actually doesn’t sit right. but, for the sake of his public perception, he doesn’t do anything about it.

in season six, he starts feeling like he’s pushing another part of his identity down. he’s already come out to his friends;

“i’m a trans guy”

“yeah we know”

“what??”

“no offence, but you didn’t actually pass super well before, we just wanted to respect your pronouns”

“but sensei thought i was a guy??”

“sensei’s old asf”

he then goes through the absolute trauma that is skybound and then dotd and then hands of time and doesn’t really have much time to think about it further.

in the time skip between seasons 7 and 8, jay realised he just doesn’t care. she likes being feminine and masculine. they don’t care what pronouns people use or how they are perceived. the pressures of being a ninja in the public eye still weigh on him sometimes, and it bothers her a bit that most people continue to assume they’re just a guy, but not enough to speak up. whatever, it doesn’t matter. his friends support him, and she’s happy.

post merge jay rlly dgaf. she’ll bind one day and then wear a push-up bra the next. he mostly wears masculine clothing bc it makes fighting easier, but overall, they rlly couldn’t care less how they’re perceived. if someone asks if he’s a guy or girl she’ll go “i don’t fucking care and neither should you.” also they grow out their hair which he’s always wanted to do.

-They both do this for the next 10 minutes.

-But as soon as they get to know each other.. they're like,

-"Woah you were traumatized by a womanly figure in your life as well and you just wanna fuck shit up to people you dont know because you have to release that pent up hate and fear of being left alone?"

-They both highfive and its literally like a circus. Like the walls are Black and White striped and the lights flashing are Green and Pink.

-You know Beej's carnival wear? Yes, definately that. While Spinel springs her body and circles around Beej. Literally Beckoning people to come in and have a terrible time.

-They spend the majority of their time screaming and laughing to be honest.

-Spinel finds home in Beej and fears she might be abandoned by him one day so she loses her shit for a second.

-Beej says that he felt the same way and they both just stared at eachother for a minute and started to laugh.

-Honestly the most chaotic and confusing duo to be.

-Oh, if people arrive to their haunted house, Spinel immediatly grabs them with her slinky arms and throws them at Beej so he can do something traumatizingly scary.

-At the end of the "scare fest" they end up talking about the people who made them this way.

-Potential best friends for sure.
