Playlist Breakdown: Pick

Obviously gotta keep backstory stuff vague but I’ve rearranged the playlist into chronological themes and it’s time to BREAK IT DOWN

And now for the breakdown:

Short Change Hero- The Heavy

I always try to kick off my playlists with “who IS this person if you broke them down into one song” but that is not what this song is. This is a song to prepare the listener for Pick’s story, and the slow intro of it really brings that in. In chronology this is actually Pick just before meeting the party, recounting the events that got him to this place (we’ll get back to that later) the crunch of shoefalls and distant thunder are also big thematic queues into the rest of the playlist.

First and foremost, from Pick’s perspective, this is not the story of a hero, and he wants you to know that up front.

The Sound of Silence- Disturbed

What a great cover. Pick doesn’t remember his childhood super well, so his first memories are of the silence, and the darkness, and the things he saw in that time. He found faith and lost it all at once, and it seemed like an eternity in that place, just struggling to pick out anything of worth in there. This song kicks off 

ACT 1 of Pick’s story, which I can’t say the title of because it’s spoilery.

A Skeleton of Something More- Sleeping At Last

People praying for a better day to come, waiting for that night, that night when everything is going to change. Get out of this place, go on to something else. The shred of hope that is wilting, a skeleton of something more.

Whatever It Takes- Imagine Dragons

Pick is not one to give up that easily, he will always say his stubborn tenacity is his best quality and it hasn’t let him down yet. Beat him, break him, want him to die so, so badly. But he’s not going to stop, he’s gunna end this, and he’ll outlast and do whatever he needs to to accomplish that.

Best of You- Foo Fighters

Pick’s refusal to give in was cute at first but now it’s getting annoying. They double down on him and he doubles down right back, we’re fighting now, and Pick will be fighting for a long, long time after this. Thank goodness he’s good at it.

Pressure- Muse

Pick learns that bloody, beaten, surrounded in the corner is where he is at his strongest. He lives under pressure, and it almost makes him laugh. If things were going too easy it wouldn’t be fun, so bring it on.

The Pretender- Foo Fighters

Pick is looking up from the pits at him, and there’s practically electricity burning between those stares. Pick has finalized his plans of revenge against him.

Believer- Imagine Dragons

Enter fucking Anders. The man that’s going to change everything for the better. That night that they’ve been waiting for has a date now, and it’s fast approaching. Pick was stewing in his anger and knew nothing else but the fight, but now, Anders has made him a believer. 

Uprising- Muse

That night has come, and it’s time to put all the chips down on a plan. It works, mostly. This marks the end of ACT 1, with a thrilling tale that can only really be translated as “fuck you!”

Starlight- Muse

Muse takes us out of ACT 1 and continues with us right on into ACT 2, and this one I can definitely share the name of: Act 2: Anders. This series of songs talks about their relationship. But first we have to put a lot of distance between us and Act 1 to start this story off proper, and that’s just what this song does, it takes us far far away by the light of the stars.

 We tie in some of the previous songs talking about lights in the darkness, and waiting for “that night”. We have finally gone out of the darkness and into the light of day.

My Best Friend- Weezer

Honestly, pretty self explanatory, Anders is everything.

Make a Little Money- Royal Deluxe

Now that we’re out and traveling around, we gotta work! Ander’s shows Pick the ropes of life and they do pretty good as a team, enjoying coin and each others company and going where the wind (and work) takes them.

I’ll Keep You Safe- Sagun

This song in its chill repetitiveness acts as a sort of time skip transitional phase in Act 2, where the development of Anders and Picks relationship kind of stabilizes and goes on for a while without much change. However, the end of the transition makes a play on that title “I’ll keep you safe” it went from a promise made in the beginning to a promise upheld in the end, but now things are different.

Very different.

Alive- Pearl Jam

Pick really shouldn’t be, and yet I guess he is, so now his title is actually really really true, this little goblin is damn near unkillable. The gift of life is a damn hard gift to give sometimes.

But where the fuck is Anders.

Lonely- Idealism

This instrumental is the only one present in Pick’s playlist, to really sink in that truly for the first time in his life EVER, he is alone, and sometimes you just have to sit and deal with that for a while.

Wish You Were Here- Lee Fields & The Expressions

Not that hard to admit really, Pick wants to know where the hell Anders is, and what the hell this letter he left means, he’s very confused and just wants his friend back.

Zombie- The Cranberries

Partially foreshadowing, but mostly just bad memories creeping back in. Without Anders bad dreams are coming back and Pick is not doing well, and he really just wants the pain to go away.

Blood In The Cut- K.Flay

Yeah, Pick is really really not okay, and he’s coping with it in some unhealthy ways that will lead to his particular quirks he has developed later on in life. It’s been so long and he’s fought so much that he doesn’t really know what pain feels like anymore, at least not physical. He tries to get the pain out, so that he can just feel that instead of the emotional pain inside. But when the blood runs, he learns something new about himself.

Stronger- Kanye West

Well holy fucking shit guess we’re a fucking bloodhunter huh- Anders letter makes a bit more sense now, but most importantly Pick has found a way to weaponize his pain, and he’s got a hell of a lot of it to use. He’s ready to take things on.

Radioactive- Imagine Dragons

Pick is starting to experiment with his powers, he’s learning with what Anders left him to pick up the pieces and become the adventurer he’s going to need to be, basically this is his training montage.

Blood On My Name- The Brothers Bright

Training is complete and we’ve basically made our way to level 3 babey!!! Pick has learned as much as he can and now he’s got his two goals in mind- find him, and find HIM. But first he needs to find Baldur’s Gate and make some friends.

End of Act 2

Walk- Foo Fighters

We’ve come full circle to the very first song in short change hero. The footsteps in that song becomes Walk here by the Foo Fighters, where Pick has put all of his past experiences behind him and is ready to start over here at the start of the third and final act so far.

Act 3 Ironically or not is also called Walk

Starting over is hard but Pick has had the time to figure out his feelings and find himself a little, and we end right as he crests the hill that gives him the first view of Baldur’s Gate. He fastens his gloves and gets moving again.

If You Only Knew- Shinedown  & The Crow & The Butterfly- Shinedown

Shinedown comes in with a pair of songs as Pick makes his way to the city to remind him of the person that got him where he needs to go. He thinks about Anders, off in some faraway place, and hopes that he’s proud of Pick for what he’s been able to accomplish on his own. But he also knows that he’s gotten as far as he can on his own and needs some help.

Thunderstruck- AC/DC

ENTER THE PARTY

Pick explodes onto the scene into a group of people that he has no idea WHAT to think about, but you know what? They’re kinda weird and definitely ready to make waves like him, so he’s happy, and he thinks he’s found the group that he needs. 

Theres some tension with a few people, and that electricity is back, but Pick’s ready this time.

Also, bringing back the thunderstorms all the way from short change hero again! Boom!! How’s that for some musical foreshadowing bitches? 

It only helps that Pick’s blood rites are electricity, doesn’t it?

Bonus tracks

Pick’s story has pretty much ended here with Thunderstruck, as he now has to learn more about this party and figure out what he wants to do, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t some bonus songs for you all!

State of Mine- Stoj Snak

A hope for the future, that these people pick has found can be not only what he thinks he needs to accomplish his goal, but what he really needs and doesn’t even know he needs yet- a real family.

Power- Kanye West

Pick is starting to see the bigger world for what it was, and the one man on Pick’s list is starting to become multiple. Theres something definitely wrong with the world and Pick’s particular viewpoint lets him see it, and he doesn’t like it.

Maker of My Sorrow- Eliza Rickman

Pick’s main goal is to the party for now, and then for Anders, that’s what he feel the overall importance is, but he hasn’t forgotten the promise he made all the way back in The Pretender: someone is going to get super murdered and Pick ain’t dying until that happens.

Spirit Saga

Ch3

Chapter 2

I got out 10 of those and immediately joined Ichigo, Orihime and Kazui because they were going shopping and I want to get my own stuff because there are going to be times when I want to be alone. So I played my music with my earbuds in my ears, the first song that played was by Godsmack, the song was called When Legends Rise, this song speaks me of what I had done. Then faintly I heard a voice singing along with me, when I stopped the voice stopped as well, I shook it off knowing that it's my own thought process messing with me. We went to a mall, I noticed that it was close to being Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, wow I missed a lot of holidays, Orihime asked me, "What are you going to be doing?" "Going to see what catches my attention," I said, "Plus I need a bag of my own." "I see, well, if you see anything you like, well, wait what am I saying, don't ask us anything because you got yourself covered," Orihime said. Ichigo tells me, "We'll meet you at the food court." "Sounds good," I said, going our different ways. I went inside of a makeup store to pick out what would look good on me because I love to look alternative, so I got a bunch blacks, whites, purples, the lady at the counter could see me thinking this all out. She asked, "Are we doing alright?" I looked, "Yeah, I'm just picking out the ones that make me look different." "Well, could've asked me because I was going to give you this card right here," she said, giving me a free discount. I told her, "I was going to pay for this fully." "You need it, trust me, with that pale face that you have right now, you might need it more than anything," she said, showing me a mirror so I could see on what she was talking about.

Oh my goodness, I look like a walking ghost, I asked, "Could you do a makeover for my sake?" "Sure," she said, "By the way, may I know your name?" "My name is Akari Itsuki Kurosaki," I said. She greeted herself, "You can call me Janela, so you don't have to come up with names that I never heard of." "Alright," I said, sitting down in a chair. Few minutes go by, I looked like myself before I broke the hairclip, I paid for the products I gotten and I went into Hot Topic to get a bag that screams me, I found one it was black and purple, I pointed to it and the worker got it for me. I noticed on who he was, "Volaris?" "Hm, uh, you woke up! I am so happy to see you alive and well," he said. I giggled, "I met this girl named Janela?" "Janela Ackles, ah, such a beauty of a girl," sighed Volaris, "Oh, before you make your purchase I have saved something for you." "Really, what is it?" I asked. He pulled out the cobweb and holly flower, "I was waiting for you to wake up, since you are here, you can have it back." He placed it where I always had it, I got a couple things like there was this red fox plush that had a hook and an eyepatch and a purple bunny. I removed everything that was inside of the bag I gotten and put my money inside of the bag, I went to the food court to wait for those 3 before I go to the gaming store that they have here.

I was holding something at bay hoping no one would see that there is something going wrong with me, I do not know what it is yet but I hope it's nothing that causes negativity towards anyone I hold dear. It went away when I heard Ichigo saying, "I hope that she gets to realize that she can't get everything that she wants." "Let her live her own life after all she just woke up," I heard Orihime say. Kazui sees me looking at the 2, "Mama, papa, she's looking this way." "Aw man," winced Ichigo. Kazui was the only one who was seeing the different eye color, he ran to me, making me snap out of it when he hugged me, now I know on why I don't get hated on, it makes me too powerful for my own sake. I thanked him for doing so, he asked, "What's going on within you?" "I have no idea, I have yet to get an idea as to why it's happening," I tell him the best way I could, "It goes to show that I can't be alone for very long otherwise I have to deal with this." "I hope you can find a solution," said Kazui. I agreed, "I hope so too." Then the 2 caught up to their son when they heard me say, "I'm going to see if there is music that should be playing." So I got up to go to the center of the court, of course there was a stage, I was seeing no one but I was hearing music that I listen to daily, I shouted, "Hello! Is anybody up there?" Nothing, I looked around to see if anyone was watching me, I walked up on that stage and sang the next one that played next. It was playing I'm Alive from Shinedown.

I kept singing a setlist of songs until I saw a guy who looked WAY TOO familiar, I mean he screams Ulquiorra, he has the same eye color, the same hair, everything, but the hole in his chest, skintone, and emotions. I spoke out, "Hi, um, I could've swore that there was nobody here." "Oh, nah, I was making sure that the sound levels were working," he said. I offered, "I know a friend that is an expert in that department." "I don't want to do that to you," he said, "Oh, you said friend as in someone else, I'm dumb." "No, you just didn't hear me correctly," I said. I saw that I had Volaris' number, I messaged him to come over to the center of the food court, so he did, "So, what do you need?" "He needs help working on the sound levels," I said. He sighed, "I keep telling him that I can help him but he refuses to." "I'm sorry alright," said the guy. I asked, "By the way, may I know your name? I would love to keep seeing you." "Of course, so do I, my name is Alex Cifer," he said, "I would also love to keep seeing you because I have this strange feeling that I've known you from somewhere I just can't put my finger on it."

As I made my way back to Ichigo, Orihime, and Kazui, I immediately got a text saying, "Alex here, I was given this by Volaris." I saved his number to my contacts and I went about my day like it was nothing, meeting him was like talkng to Onyx, he made me feel that way. As we went home, Orihime asked, "So who did you meet?" "Well, it's a little much for me to remember," I said, "All you need to know is that I think I have found my prince charming." "That quick? Looks like you 2 met a few years back," said Ichigo, "I hope we meet this guy." "He was at the center of the court, I saw him when he found me singing a setlist of songs and it made me feel so much better," I said, "We are hoping to continue on seeing each other and we felt like we've met before." "Oh? what's his name?" asked Kazui. I answered, "Alex Cifer." "Oooo, I hope he's good looking," said Orihime. I giggled, "Remember that you are married, Orihime." "Oh hush," she said, blushing, "It's as if I would ever do that." "Would you?" I asked. They both responded with the same thing, "NO, WE WOULD NEVER DO THAT!!!" "Alright, geez," I said, "I wonder on what Esperanza is doing ever since I woke up." "She said that she has been dealing with a creature that keeps saying that he is Zangetsu," said Ichigo, "Even though, Zangetsu has been with me throughout." "Or, it's that form you've taken when you got blasted in the chest," I said to him, "I'll see what I can do to help her." "Be careful going there," said Orihime.

So that is what I ended up doing, I went to Hueco Mundo to see if I could help Esperanza with her situation, wouldn't you know it, I'm stranded and far away from Las Noches. I groaned, "I don't want to deal with walking that much." So I sat down waiting for someone to know that I was hear, I almost got attacked by a hollow when something killed it. I looked, there was the creature who Esperanza was handling with, it looked at me, "Be careful next time." I looked away silently giving him a look of annoyance, then I heard, "Wait!" "Ah, crap!" said the creature. It took off with me along with it, apparently I was giving myself the worst way to go, then he sat me down when the coast was clear, it was VERY gentle for a hollow, I asked, "May I know on who you are?" "I keep saying, I am Zangetsu," said the creature. I stood up, "Liar! Zangetsu is with Ichigo." "I'm not talking about the Old Man Zangetsu, his Quincy powers," said the hollow. Then it clicked, "Shiro?" "What? Aw, damn it," he said, in a very defeated voice, "Can you help me lift this mask off of me?" I nodded, I took it off him, it truly was Ichigo's Hollow, "How did you get out?" "I got separated from the other inner Hollow," he said, "This is my own body, I was woken by a very curvy lass that I tried to fight myself from doing it with her." "You know you have to clarify to her on who you are," I said, "Are you really that scared of her?" "Only scared of the fact that I get dominated by her," he said.

I put the mask back on him and dragged him by one of the horns, he was not rejecting because my grip was that strong for some strange reasons. Once we reached her, I yanked him forward and pushed him forward, walking beside him, making sure he doesn't go anywhere, I tell her, "I know on who it is." "Who is it?" she asked. I started to pull the mask off but Shiro held onto the mask for dear life, she casted Bond hands, he was bounded, I successfully lifted the mask up. She was surprised to see on who it was, she yanked him up and unexpectedly made the first move on his ass. Well, not what we had in mind at all, after that happened, Shiro looks at me, "You may want to find out on who this Alex Cifer is. He sounds interesting." "Yeah, if he is who you think it is, then there goes your worries of seeing him again," said Esperanza, "Because I was told something that you need to hear for yourself." I nodded, I left the place, Ichigo asked, "So, who was it?" "Apparently your hollow split into 2 separate beings," I said to him, "This one took the form of when you got blasted in the chest in Hueco Mundo." "I see, well, let's hope that it is all because I do not want to know or see if the forms that I took have their own lives," said Ichigo. I added, "Another thing, Esperanza tells me something that I think it's important for me and the rest of us to hear. Apparently that cottage where you and I fought Aizen, it's still there but the barrier was destroyed after I did that."

Undeniably Important Chapter 4: Playful Banter

Chapter 4 is here. This one is much shorter compared to the chapters after this however. After this chapter the setting really begins to be shown. It’s a long setting but I wanted to get a feel for the characters first before plunging them into a foreign exciting angst-ridden story. I hope you all like this next chapter though. Once again taglist is at the bottom.

Anxiety quickly teleported to his room and locked the door. After taking a deep breath, he yawned and trudged lazily to his bed. Pulling out his phone, Anxiety checked the time.

8:37 am

He groaned and fell face first into the black sheets of the covers. He just wanted to sleep the rest of the day away and forget that he had a job to do. The fact that Thomas was going out with friends only put more stress on him. He had to find an outlet, stress-reliever, or something to get everything that was happening off of his mind. His thoughts immediately trailed to the guitar sitting in his closet. Anxiety did enjoy playing the guitar, but he rarely ever did because he was afraid one of the other aspects would hear and then he would have to answer a thousand questions pertaining to his 'hidden' talent.

Anxiety struggled to unbury his face from the bed and turned to look at the Fender, the strings gleaming from his closet. Part of him badly wanted to pick up the string instrument and strum his worries away, but he decided against it.

"I'll play you later tonight." He whispered in the direction of the guitar as if it were a person.

Anxiety climbed up on his bed so his head was on his pillow and surfed through his playlists of music. Evanescence will always be his favorite band, but he had recently been getting into other bands such as Shinedown and Skillet. Anxious to listen to a new album, Anxiety searched his bedside tables for his head phones, which after moving a couple articles of dark clothing, he found them. Darn, the cord was all tangled up. Anxiety groaned in irritation.

After a minute or two spent unraveling the wires, he plugged in his headphones and listened to Haunted by Evanescence to see if they were working correctly. He sighed in relief as the familiar sounds rushed at his ears drowning out the world around him. He stopped the song midway through to change the playlist to the new album that had just come out. Once he pressed play, Anxiety felt his body relax the same way it did when the milk hit his system last night.

With eyes on the ceiling and music in his ears, Anxiety sunk into his bed. He felt better.

9:45 am

Anxiety had just finished the tenth song of the album, and was about to play the next one when he heard a knock at his door.

He pulled off his headphones. "Who is it?" he yelled. He wanted to finish his album before anyone interrupted his peace and quiet.

"This is Logan." Whenever Logan knocked on anyone's door, he always had something important to say.

Anxiety whined slightly. "Can it wait like 10 minutes?" He yelled back from his bed. Getting up was the last thing he wanted to do.

"We aren't on any sort of time frame, so I don't see why not. Thomas will be appearing in the mind palace about 10 am though. He expects everyone to be there. You have until then."

"Thanks mom!" Anxiety yelled back and quickly plugged his ears back up with his headphones so he didn't hear Logan's response. He chuckled to himself and began to listen to the last few songs of the album.

10:01 am

Thomas materialized in the mind palace. "Hey everybody!" He stretched and made his way towards the center couch in the living room.

Logan was waiting for him, sitting in the same spot that he had fell asleep in last night, holding the list in his hands. "Hello again, Thomas."

"Morning Logan!" Thomas flopped on the center couch and slapped his own thighs zealously, ready for the day.

Princey teleported to the couch facing away from the kitchen. "Good morning again Thomas! How was laundry?" He clapped his hands and a personified tea set teleported in front of him. Princey daintily sipped tea as he waited for the other aspects to arrive.

"I got most of it done. Hey Princey. Are you and Logan on better terms now?" Thomas asked eyeing the two aspects respectively.

Seeing that Roman was too busy drinking tea, Logan answered for him. "Affirmative. But, I cannot deny that my trust for you was halved." Logan motioned to Princey and then continued scribbling on his notepad.

Roman flinched at his words. "Yikes. Well, I deserved that. Heh heh...heh..." Princey's voice trailed off as he scratched his neck in regret.

Morality suddenly appeared next to Princey on the couch. "Heya kiddos! I don't know about you but I'm feeling SOFAbulous today." Patton chimed.

Only Thomas laughed.

"No offence Morality, but you have made better puns in the past." Roman sipped some tea.

"Ugh. If you continue telling jokes Morality, I will have to punish you." Immediately Logan clasped a hand over his mouth.

"OOOHHHH!!! Good one Logan!" Thomas laughed at the unintentional pun that slipped out from Logan's mouth.

"And what form of punishment would it be, Logan? A parent teacher conference?" Anxiety had just appeared to the right of Logan, giving the snarkiest smirk he could muster. When he said that though, something flashed across Logan's face almost faltering Anxiety's current facial expression. It was almost as if Logan was embarrassed? This sparked his curiosity.

All the aspects laughed at the joke except Logan, who just looked defeated.

"Alright. So back to business since we are all here now." All eyes were now on Thomas "I had a private chat with Logan over here,"

Logan waved.

"And he says the best place place to go is Mahzu Sushi Bar and Grill. What does everyone think?"

"Ooh! You'll have a whale of a good time! If anything can krill a diet, seafood can." Morality agreed

"Seafood! An excellent choice." Roman assumed an epic pose.

"And it's perfect, because if anybody doesn't want seafood they can order something from the grill!" Thomas was obviously excited.

"Sure. Not a bad choice. What could go wrong? Oh right. Everything." Anxiety's suddenly chill attitude turned dark but was soon undermined by Logic.

"I am sorry to say that You are once again, outnumbered." Logan haughtily replied to Anxiety who just angrily groaned.

"Of course I am. *cough* because mother knows best *cough*." Anxiety whispered the last part under his coughs so only Logan could hear him. Logan just gave him a death glare at which Anxiety chuckled.

"Aww...its ok Anxiety. Maybe we can get sushi with Thomas and his friends tonight! We can all get our favorite dishes." Morality interjected.

"Well, don't you guys technically come with me wherever I go?" Thomas questioned.

"We do! But, we don't usually 'act' like we are with you in the real world." Princey explained.

"Real...world? What are you guys talking about?"

"Oh thats right. We never officially explained to Thomas the science behind the Mind Palace. I guess this is a job for the smartest guy in the room: Logan." Morality smiled at Logic.

Logic dipped his head and smiled proudly. Anxiety swore he saw the same flush in Logan's cheeks slip by quickly before he began to speak.

"We are mental projections of your personality, but there is so much more information about us than we let on." Logan began.

More Info/Background in said AU -Okay, so at the beginning before it was a Kismesis type of thing, we actually tried dating…but he didn’t really stay Faithful through most of the time we were “dating”, he figured he could get past me but im not an idiot as he assumed i would be….apparently having one partner wasn’t enough in his “Matesprite” quadrant. which i broke it off after finding out, and as time went on he saw it as something stupid that could’a been fixed… But lying, to me and whom ever he was sleeping with that night if he managed to actually get someone in bed with him. and or even just attempting it– it really didn’t rub me the right way. we stopped talking to each other a little while after that and tried to get back in contact but it just lead straight back into welll….as its called a “Kismesis Relationship” and we started to see we were blinded by the IDEA of each other. 

Which is why i guess we hold the sex stuff over each others heads? He was my first and the only person i’m really comfortable seeing me well naked, and im the only one who could actually stand fuckin the guy.and though it is a “Kismesis Relationship” basically we both get extremely jealous when we see the other getting a new potential Datemate/Matesprite…and which leads to fighting…and then after fighting hate fucking basically. thats how our relationship works i guess. its kind of annoyin’.Doesn’t help when he comes to me and talks about how he needs money or something and when i finally snap at him and tell him to get a fuckin job and stop being a fuckin Scrub and actually do something with his life/after life that just leads into the same shit, Fight, hate fuck, leave. 

I wont lie…a lot of the jealousy is on my side, but he gets just as jealous– but more than likely not for the same reasons, though i was blinded by the idea of him, i was actually falling in love with him while he was trying to find someone to fall in love with while i was a place holder for that spot he was looking to fill. so i guess its a resentment hatred on my part, and im going to assume he hates me because he didn’t get away with what he wanted and and how i actually stand up to him now…Maybe the reason he came back was just that…he knew every reason why i left and every reason our “Relationship” failed, but refuses to accept what he did and thats why he gets jealous? i guess i won’t know because im too scared to ask but i also don’t want him to talk out of his fucking ass and lie to me again.

wardrobe:what’s your OC’s style like?                                  

In DA-centric universes Egeire ends up becoming fairly all-or-nothing re: clothing. at the end of the Blight, into Warden-Commanderdom, and to some extent post-Wardenhood, he is either in full armor and weaponry (with some extra flash and ideally some small piece of elfiness in the Awakening period), or when he is completely alone and not paranoid and with people he trusts in a space he feels safe in, he is wearing like comfortable loose-fitting pants and that’s about it.

In more modern AUs Egeire wears more like… practical clothes, probably? flannel and open button-ups over tank tops with sturdy pants and tough boots, whatever clothes have been Gifted to him over the years, annnnnd at-home muscly shirtlessness with loose sweatpants

DA: a mix of aesthetic robes and practical ones, some with long flowing pieces and embroidered flowers that gradually transition to black dust, wearing her mage blood and magic specialties quite literally on her sleeve, some that are more armor than robe (bc spellsword/arcane warrior) but with elements of robes nonetheless. Dresses more lightly in private for ease of movement, with fur shawls and fine shoes and all. may be talked into some sort of short top + long skirt look by her fawning husband. in private.

Modern: light blouses and either loose-ish pants or long skirts, fond of flower motifs, plenty of like cardigans and soft jackets and things that generally perfect that sweet and trustworthy and caring outward demeanor she wields like empathy made tangible and precise. also has regular graphic tees and jeans for gardening.

.DA: robes, again. robes with a focus on complete head-to-toe coverage and not irritating rough patches of skin or what not too much. Something comfortable enough to sleep in. Not really much variety once they lock themself away in Kinloch Hold rebuilt.

Modern: light shirts tied up and semi-professional vests and the ability to quickly create a skirt in any situation when they need to really move in a hurry

1. “Enemies” - Shinedown (i didn’t even have to think about this one everyone hates Cyrron except like…. you jay. only you. everyone else goes ‘ew’ or ‘why are his eyes sockets not full of sharp/sharp-ish utensils’ when i bring him up. only you cheer when he shows up or hand him over to tentacle monsters but)

2. “Simple Man” - Lynyrd Skynyrd (and the complete flipside– a simple kind of man, not rushing, revering the gods, settling down with a bondmate and having children… it was the life Cyrron intended to live, not exactly a soft or warm or gentle man by any means, but a simple man. Then he lost everything, and survived Vir Banal’ras, and we have present day Cyrron.)

3. “The Dalish Elves Encampment” - Dragon Age: Origins OST, or something (this is basically a placeholder to state: what do you think super traditional Dalish elf music sounds like? for Ferelden Dalish if you want to get specific maybe. Basically, whatever Traditional Dalish Music is, that is all Cyrron himself cares to listen to. That’s it. He hoards it. maybe even plays an instrument. the world will never know.)

DA: Armor. Sturdy Dalish armor, long updated and cycled through with parts, blades on hand at all times, each meticulously well-kept and menacingly. The only time he’s not in armor is if he’s for some reason in disguise to get closer to someone to kill them.

Modern: ranges from business semi-casual to business ultra-formal and nowhere below that range, at least not for wearing out in the daylight. Cyrron mostly has his crisp dress shirts and pressed black slacks and all that easy “I am wealthy and important and you don’t need to know what I do for a living” class, even despite the clear vallaslin, but he also has a variety of tougher garb and more lowkey clothing for when his real line of work comes calling in the night for a slit throat or a poisoned drink.

D&D: Soveliss at the moment generally has his greyscale Acolyte of Kelemvor robes/garb, some dark leather armor, maybe some shiny beads or baubles, and his gorgeous blond hair (it is probably literally enchanted t b h), buuuut he has no real exposure to like….. choice of clothing let alone fashion. idk we’ll see if aub ever gets us somewhere cool where I can get him a truly art-worthy outfit or if he dies first i guess.

1. “Stray Italian Greyhound” - Vienna Teng (whoops first song is a Grey/Tamaris song. but: Grey is every bit the tongue-tied hopeless romantic that Egeire is, except he somehow works himself up about it even harder bc in a way Grey can be summed up as Eg But Extra (i love this song tho))

2. “I of the Storm” - Of Monsters And Men (wh o o ps it’s another Grey/Tam song. but it is also a good sort of song for Grey’s general insecurities, still carried over if reflected differently from Egeire’s. not measuring up. not being loved. feeling trapped. are you really gonna love me when i’m gone? are you really gonna need me when i’m gone? i fear you won’t; i fear you don’t)

3. “In My Sleep” - Mystery Skulls (can’t find a good video but you can’t do this like i do/i fucking wrote this in my sleep is just. 1. it mostly inspired an au. 2. take Egeire’s mild peacock tendencies and turn them up to fucking 11 and you might start to approach Grey levels of pride and showboating. tempted to put “Magic” on this list but just. it’s so great. just go look it up.)

DA: so fashionable. whether he’s the Circle Ambassador or the Warden-Commander, Grey is dedicated to keeping up with trends and edging out ahead of them where he can. It’s a careful balance to keep, neither being so compliant as to be invisible or stepping so far out of line that he’s branded “outsider“ again, but he loves it. Grey is all about politics, wealth, luxury, prestige– whatever the Circle and the Chantry wanted to deny him, he will take, one way or another.

Modern: so fashionable. if it’s In he is at least looking into getting his hands on it, if he doesn’t already have it. as the Circle is traded out for more like…. slicksharp white collar big business laddering-climbing type ambition, so too are robes traded for suits, and so some manner of dress shirt + jacket/blazer/etc + slacks/dress pants/etc becomes his norm. Whether he’s climbing or charming or sleeping his way to the top, he enjoys surrounding himself with luxury and learning how to take advantage of it.Is still a sweetheart who looks nice in lace though.
