Wahoo, I saw the second film and just knew I had to create a real love interest for Beetlejuice because for some reason, I believe with the right person in people’s lives, they can change and I think if he ended up with Jeronima and not her twin Delores, they’d have been happy together. Or maybe I’m just sad and believe in true love lol. 😭

I also thought the story of how Beetlejuice and Delores met was kind of insane and I get Beetlejuice is meant to be nuts lol, but as you know, I like to add depth to things so wanted them to know each other beforehand and also introduce a new character who also met a sad fate at the hands of Delores, who she loved til the bitter end.

The result of reading a fanfiction scene of Lydia meeting Betelgeuse in the attic, then remembering one of the clips/teasers released for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

The delivery of that single question by both of them!

The way Betelgeuse said it with such bewilderment of why anyone (especially from someone so young) would say that they want to die or get in the afterlife which he's been trying to get out of.

And then the bemusement that Lydia still has towards Delia's art process no matter how long she's been surrounded by them.

That was so soulmates coded.
