I hc that mobians of course keep some of their original animal's instincts or behaviors but I also hc that sometimes when they're really stressed or freaked out-or maybe just at random from time to time-they go into full instinct mode, they act just like how their original animal would act. Sometimes this spans from hours to even just a few minutes

So when I found out that foxes eat hedgehogs(although they typically don't hunt them) I was possessed and quickly drew this

Just Tails being overcome by his instincts for a moment and feeling bad for having the possibility of trying to hurt his older brother

I saw a janky ai image in which, doing what ai often does, had some really weird looking animals in the background. My favourite of these creatures was an odd fox-bird hybrid. Decided for shits and giggles to turn it into an oc

Anyway now for some headcanons about mobians:

When two mobians of different animal species have a kid, the vast majority of the time the species of the kid is basically a coin flip; they end up 100% of the animal of just one of the parents. For instance, a cat mobian and their dog mobian spouse will typically end up with a kid who is fully cat mobian or fully dog mobian.

However, hybrids, who are a mix of the two parent species, are pretty rare but not impossible! To give rough odds, I’d say it’d probably be something like 1 in 500. In these cases sometimes they will lean more towards the species of one parent over the other, but other times they can be pretty evenly mixed.

one thing i wish was explored more in sonic is the like. dynamic between humans and mobians i guess is how you could describe it. specifically in the games and other continuities where theyre all living on the same planet together.. like are there any major cultural differences between humans and mobians? holidays or religions that are common among mobians but not humans? eating habits that are common among humans but not mobians? stuff like that

are there many towns or cities that have equal amounts of humans and mobians living in them, or are they usually mostly or exclusively populated by one or the other? would restaurants have multiple types of chairs to accommodate for things like height differences or big bushy tails? idk its just interesting to think about

alright fun fact a decent chunk of Cupid's design actually came from our dog. Greg. he's half pitbull half catahoula so i guess Cupid is too! this post dedicated to sad little puppy dog eyes (they are eternal) and the way he looks sad when his ears are laying down. resting depression face. most recent chapter of my fic now has it so both of Gadget's parents were briefly described, so I thought I would post this quick sketch I did a bit ago of his family (pictured a bit over half a decade ago.) More info below the cut.

From left to right:

Gina the Wolf, currently 55, pictured at 49. She was raised in an environment that emphasized academics, and she is a tenured professor at New Mobotropolis University. Has a PhD in mechanical engineering and mostly teaches at the doctoral level. Notorious for being a bit too lax when it comes to dangerous or controversial research projects.

Gizmo the Wolf, currently 16, pictured at 10. Artistically inclined, outgoing and never hesitates to bother his brother. Still finishing high school and plans to study art at a local university.

Gadget the Wolf, currently 20, pictured at 14. Hero of the war. Originally a quiet kid who had just moved far away from home to go to college to study computer science when the war suddenly hit. Most people know the rest of the story.

Gears the (Maned) Wolf, currently 52, pictured at 46. Car mechanic by trade, grew up in a rough neighborhood. Now owns her own repair place. Is half Maned Wolf (making both her kids a quarter). Her and Gina met when Gina brought her car with a flat tire to the shop Gears worked at during that point in her life. Gina's parents didn't approve of them being together due to several reasons. They have been married for 22 years.

Sonic and Shadow being twins would bring so much humor into the whole "Faker" meme/joke, the two would try to continuously claim why the other is not "good enough" to be their twin and must be fake copy of them.

PLEASE CAN YOU IMAGINE. They would be so fucking insane they would not survive being actual twins 😭
